when I heard Mr. Bug say this iconic line to Ian in 7x03, I immediately remembered a passage from Voyager...
In no hurry, Arch turned his gaze deliberately upon each man in turn; Jamie, then Ian, whom he regarded for an instant that seemed a lifetime.
"When you‘ve something worth taking, boy—you‘ll see me again," he said quietly, then turned upon his heel and walked into the trees.

“I had forgotten,” he said, a moment later.
“Forgotten what?” His back was warm through the thin shirt.
“Everything.” He spoke very softly, mouth against my hair. “Joy. Fear. Fear, most of all.” His hand came up and smoothed my curls away from his nose.
“I havena been afraid for a verra long time, Sassenach,” he whispered. “But now I think I am. For there is something to be lost, now.”

All the Ways Home, chapter 8
Jenny starts cooking three days in advance. Ian has been married to her too long to think it either prudent or effective to remind her that she doesn't have to put in such an effort for only a simple family dinner, and is too wise regardless to truly think that this particular meal is actually a simple prospect at all. William might have already mastered the greatest difficulties when it comes to meeting stubborn Frasers (and is actually doing quite well in that regard, if he can judge by Kitty's moping about because Bree has chosen to stay and watch a film at Lallybroch rather than escaping to sleep over at the Murrays' as she has been recently) but that doesn't mean that being introduced to the family at large won't be...perhaps not fraught, or so Ian hopes, but most likely a bit overwhelming.
At least there will be Jenny's best recipes on the table to carry them through, even if it means that Ian has spent several days helping to ferry things back and forth between the kitchen and the refrigerator in the garage.

Outlander Fandom Why?!?!?
Why are there very few fics for outlander? Especially poor Ian. I feel like he is so underrated. He needs at least something. I guess this is my official request. Please anyone write something for Ian. Please?

Day 4: Favorite Fergus scene
I had to think about this one a bit. I like Fergus, but some of his best scenes were also traumatic ones and that didn't sit well with me for being a favorite scene although his acting and the cinematography was very well done. I chose a scene from Season 3 Episode 7 Crème de Menthe. This is another episode that seems to get a lot of hate and while it isn't my favorite episode, the scene where Fergus gives Ian lassie advice is classic.
This scene just makes me laugh every time I watch it. I love seeing that Fergus has turned into a big brother of Ian's. Such a great relationship between the two.
Fergus is such a great character and has many great scenes, but he has also lived a very hard life. When we first meet Fergus he was an orphan living in a brothel and stealing from the customers. It is great to see the man he has turned into over the series, the family he has created and the family he is surrounded by. I know Season 6 is very traumatic for him and one of my favorite scenes with him in it, is from that season, but unfortunately it is very hard for me to watch so I chose not to include that here.
You will find that I tend to go for the happier moments. There is so much chaos, and hate in our current world, that I like to revisit the joyful moments when I watch Outlander.
