THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

AHHHH the Vampire Diaries. This show has made my quarantine period so much better. This show took me by surprise. Seeing as TVD finished in 2017, I’m a little late to the party watching it in 2020, but honestly I didn’t think a vampire show was for me seeing as though I wasn’t the biggest fan of Twilight and I honestly thought it would be a little cringey. Well I was wrong, because this show quickly became one of my favourite teen dramas I have ever watched and all the hype around it made sense. I don’t know if it was the INSANELY hot cast or the storylines that had the ability of making me feel absolutely broken.

The Vampire Diaries starts off as a show about a normal teenager (or so we thought) Elena Gilbert, who meets a boy Stefan that she instantly has a connection with and his brother Damon, who happen to be Vampires. The thing I love about this show is that it evolves so much from that, even just in the first season. Now I can't possibly go through every storyline that was told in the 8 seasons of the show but I can say that most of them were so brilliant and always kept me watching. Stefan and Damon were two of my absolute favourite characters of course (as I assume they are most peoples) as you got to see their characters go through such a journey with not only Elena but with each other. Although the show focused so much on the love triangle, I enjoyed the storylines so much more when the brothers were working together. One of my favourite scenes has to be in season 6 when Damon comes back from the prison world, and Stefan unexpectedly reunites with his brother. I also absolutely LOVE the other main characters of the show, Caroline and Bonnie (of course there's so many more, but these two were consistently part of the main cast). Caroline is hands down my favourite character, and I think a lot of fans can agree. Although she started out to be an annoying, whiny character, when she turned into a vampire she became the most loveable. Now, Bonnie honestly carried the whole show if you think about it. Through every problem Bonnie always found a solution or at least had a huge part of the solution, not to mention bringing back so many of the “dead” characters. The Mikaelson family were also such a great addition to the show as well and really making season 2,3 and 4 so entertaining, but I will get into that more in my Originals post!

Some of my favourite episodes are:

Season 1 Episode 22: Founders Day - The episode that Kathrine arrives in mystic falls, with the epic scene where she cuts off John's fingers. “Hello John, Goodbye John” has got to be my favourite Kathrine quote ever.

Season 3 Episode 14: Dangerous Liaisons - This is the episode that the Mikaelson Ball occurs in, which is very iconic.

Season 6 Episode 21: I’ll Wed You in the Golden Summertime - Jo and Alaric’s wedding is one of the most hectic scenes in the whole series.

Season 8 Episode 16: I Was Feeling Epic - I’ve never cried so much at a series finale episode like I have with this one.

Although this show is one of my favourite shows to ever exist there are some things that I would’ve liked to have changed. First and foremost I wish that Enzo had never been killed (especially by Stefan) 😭😭. Bonnie deserved her happily ever after more than anyone else in the show and it sucked to not see her be happy in the end. Although I absolutely loved ‘The Originals’ show, I do wish there were more crossover episodes between the two shows because I loved how the dynamics changed when the Mikealsons joined the Salvatores and company. I also would’ve loved Elena to stay part of the show after season 6. I know this was because of Nina Dobrev's choice to leave the series however her character became less annoying just before she left it, I would've loved to see what would’ve happened if she stayed since she was the main character for the first 6 seasons. A minor change I would’ve enjoyed was to see closure between Jeremy and Bonnie's relationship. I also would’ve loved to see more of Lexi while she was alive, I know we did get a lot of flashbacks, however it would’ve been great to have seen more of her and Stefans friendship before Damon killed her. 😭

My post about ‘Friends’ discussed diversity in casting, this show could have also featured a bit more diversity. Now, of course Bonnie is of African American descent, however she was the only main cast member who was not caucasion. There were many guest stars, or minor roles who were people of colour, however I believe they could’ve added a bit more diversity to the cast. In saying this, the two spin off series that have come from The Vampire Diaries, ‘The Originals’ and ‘Legacies’, both have a very diverse cast, which is GREAT. FUN FACTS:

- Steven McQueen who plays Jeremy, Elena's YOUNGER brother, is actually older than Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena

- All the episode titles of Season 6 were dedicated to 90’s songs, because Bonnie and Damon were trapped in the prison world in the 90s

- In the book version of The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith and J. L. Miller, there were many more supernatural beings, such as angels

- Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder both directed multiple episodes of the later seasons of The Vampire Diaries

“Whats wrong?” You walked through the door, seeing everyone in the room.

“Klaus got to Stefan” Caroline admits. You had been trying to keep Stefan away from Klaus, knowing he’d make him turn his humanity off.

“Whats the plan?” You ask.

“Well he has already killed a dozen people in the past two days. he’s becoming the ripper again, its going to be hard to turn him back” Damon pondered. You started to feel anxious and worried for your boyfriend.

“We need to make a deal with Klaus. It’s the only way” You insisted. Damon scoffed.

“We are not making a deal with him. We can do this on our own” He argued back. You bit back a harsh remark.

“Fine then. What do you think we should do?” You said with sass.

“Make him feel” He said simply.

“Make him feel? Thats the big plan?” Bonnie questioned him. Damon nodded.

“I’ve done this before. It works. We just need someone to break him” He concluded. You all thought in silence. It wasn't a bad plan.

“Okay so what do we do?” You asked.

“We should all find him, talk to him and get him to turn it back on” Damon said as if it were the easiest thing in the world.

“How do we find him?” You asked.

“Locator spell” Bonnie chirped in. You nodded as everyone went to surround her as she casted her magic.

They pinpointed him to a cemetery. You all ran out and went to find him.

“Good” Klaus complimented Stefan.

“I want more” Stefan growled. Klaus smiled, thinking of another shenanigan.

“Kill Y/N” Klaus compelled Stefan.

“What?” Stefan questioned.

“Kill her” He confirmed.

———

You reached the cemetery, instantly smelling the dead bodies. They were scattered everywhere and it shocked you. You'd never seen Stefan do something like this.

“Oh my god” Caroline muttered.

“Lets separate. We can find him quicker” You declared as you walked off, everyone else following suit.

You screamed as you rounded a tree. Stefan stood there, drinking blood from a victims neck. He dropped the body and stalked towards you. It scared you to see him like this.

“Stefan” You gasped. Something in him snapped as he ran to you, grasping your throat and restricting your breathing.

You gasped for air, looking him in the eye. You fought back, punching him in the face. He let go and you fell to the forrest floor. You stood up, looking at him and you saw the pure anger in his eyes.

He chased you through the forrest but you tripped on a tree root sending you crashing into the ground.

You were pulled up by your hair and thrown against the tree, having the wind knocked out of you.

“Stefan. Stop this please” You begged. He didn't reply, only gave you death eyes.

“I love you, Stefan. Please” He kept attacking you. You couldn't focus on anything. Stefan threw you, hit you, bit you and tried to impale you. It hurt knowing he was doing it to you. You thought you could break him and bring him back but it wasn't working.

Stefan watched as he was killing you. He felt guilt tugging at him and he knew he loved you. You kept begging him to stop, hoping he would turn his humanity on.

Something in him snapped. He paused. It gave you enough time to push him away. You gasped for air, blood spraying out of your mouth. He looked at you, his emotions pulling him.

Stefan realised what he was doing to you. All the memories of you and him surfaced within his mind. His heart broke. He saw the desperation and love in your eyes.

“Stefan?” You realised what was happening but before you could reach him he was gone.

“Y/N?” You heard from the distance. You found them all wounded and on the floor.

“He’s Stefan but he ran away” You informed them.

The others looked relieved but worried. All of you left for the Salvatore house and got cleaned up.

“Stefan? Please call me back” You called but no answer.

The front door opened, revealing Stefan covered in blood. He didn’t dare make eye contact, he only walked up the stairs.

No one was expecting him but no one moved or said a word. You followed him up the stairs and to the bathroom where he began to disrobe.

“Stefan?” You teared up. He looked at you. You saw him drowning in pain and guilt. You ran to him and hugged him, taking him off guard. He hugged you back.

“I’m so sorry” He whispered.

“It’s okay, you’re okay now” You held him in your embrace as he wept.

Did you hear anything on Enzo's pending death. I mean we know Julie said there's another character death coming. Apparently the spoiler is Kai going to kill him?

As I said, it’s really hard at the moment to understand which rumors are true and which ones are just foilers.

I mean if there are scripts of some scenes around you know that they are very likely to be reliable.

But when it comes to these rumors... I don’t know. I have a hard time believing all of them. I can believe in some general spoilers, but the specific ones seem kinda odd.

I mean for example this rumor that Kai is going to kill Enzo...

I think the ones that will meet Kai are Damon and Ric, and I base my speculations on this synopsis:

EVIL IN THE PAST – Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) come face to face with an old enemy after they obtain a weapon that may be able to destroy Cade. Stefan (Paul Wesley) is held captive by a surprising acquaintance and is forced to confront a dark secret from his past. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) and Matt (Zach Roerig) try to keep Stefan’s violent history from destroying him. Cade (guest star Wolé Parks) focuses his attention on Bonnie (Kat Graham) and digs deep into her mind. Tony Solomons directed the episode written by Neil Reynolds (#813). Now, in 8x13 Enzo doesn’t appear... so how is possible for Kai to kill him? (but I have no idea if Kai will be present also in 8x14)
