Give Thanks to the LORD, for He is Good
1 Thank the Lord because he is good.
His love continues forever.

That is what the people the Lord has saved should say.
They are the ones he has saved from the enemy.

He has gathered them from other lands,
from east and west, north and south.

Some people had wandered in the desert lands.
They found no city to live in.

They were hungry and thirsty.
They were discouraged.

In their misery they cried out to the Lord.
And he saved them from their troubles.

He led them on a straight road
to a city where they could live.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love
and for the miracles he does for people.

He satisfies the thirsty.
He fills up the hungry.

Some sat in gloom and darkness.
They were prisoners suffering in chains.

They had turned against the words of God.
They had refused the advice of God Most High.

So he broke their pride by hard work.
They stumbled, and no one helped.

In their misery they cried out to the Lord.
And he saved them from their troubles.

He brought them out of their gloom and darkness.
He broke their chains.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love
and for the miracles he does for people.

He breaks down bronze gates.
And he cuts apart iron bars.

Some became fools who turned against God.
They suffered for the evil they did.

They refused to eat anything.
So they almost died.

And he saved them from their troubles.

God gave the command and healed them.
So they were saved from dying.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love

Let them offer sacrifices to thank him.
With joy they should tell what he has done.

Others went out to sea in ships.
They did business on the great oceans.

They saw what the Lord could do.
They saw the miracles he did.

He spoke, and a storm came up.
It blew up high waves.

The ships tossed as high as the sky and fell low in the waves.
The storm was so bad the men lost their courage.

They stumbled and fell like men who were drunk.
They did not know what to do.

In their misery they cried out to the Lord.
And he saved them from their troubles.

He made the storm be still.
He calmed the waves.

They were happy that it was quiet.
And God guided them to the port they wanted.

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love
and for the miracles he does for people.

Let them praise his greatness in the meeting of the people.
They should praise him in the meeting of the elders.

He changed rivers into a desert,
and springs of water into dry ground.

He made fertile land salty
because the people there did evil.

He changed the desert into pools of water
and dry ground into springs of water.

He had the hungry settle there.
They built a city to live in.

They planted seeds in the fields and vineyards.
And they had a good harvest.

God blessed them, and they grew in number.
Their cattle did not become fewer.

Because of disaster, troubles and sadness,
their families grew smaller and weaker.

He showed he was displeased with their important men.
He made them wander in a pathless desert.

But he lifted the poor out of their suffering.
And he made their families grow like flocks of sheep.

Good people see this and are happy.
But the wicked say nothing.

Whoever is wise will remember these things.

A Prayer for Help
Of David.
1 Lord, battle with those who battle with me.
Fight against those who fight against me.
2 Pick up the shield and armor.
Rise up and help me.
3 Lift up your spears, both large and small,
against those who chase me.
Tell me, “I will save you.”
4 Make those who want to kill me
be ashamed and disgraced.
Make those who plan to harm me
turn back and run away.
5 Make them like chaff blown by the wind.
Let the angel of the Lord chase them away.
6 Let their road be dark and slippery
as the angel of the Lord chases them.
7 For no reason they spread out their net to trap me.
For no reason they dug a pit for me.

Save my life from their attacks.

19 Do not let my enemies laugh at me.
They hate me for no reason.
Do not let them make fun of me.
They have no reason to hate me.
20 Their words are not friendly.
They think up lies about peace-loving people.
21 They speak against me.
They say, “Aha! We saw what you did!”
22 Lord, you have been watching. Do not keep quiet.
Lord, do not leave me alone.
23 Wake up! Come and defend me!
My God and Lord, fight for me!
24 Lord my God, defend me with your justice.
Don’t let them laugh at me.
25 Don’t let them think, “Aha! We got what we wanted!”
Don’t let them say, “We destroyed him.”
26 Let them be ashamed and embarrassed.
They were happy when I hurt.
Cover them with shame and disgrace.
They thought they were better than I was.

will you tell us about your wips or ideas for future works?? i see your inspo tags and i’m soooo curious!! it can be as short and vague as you want to!! 🤍
id love to! i definitely should tell you guys about them more hahaa
so a joel series in the works is called In Cold Blood (it used to be titled something else which i would tag as FAD but i changed the title). it’s set in the boston qz, a four part-er and it’s me making my foray into writing for dark!joel. i always write him soft and i would like to test myself by doing something new. so it’s dark and murderous and involves a female counterpart who is similarly dark and murderous and it’s them essentially wreaking havoc…. quite keen for this one honestly! it won’t be a large plot series like ALP, more like four slice of life pieces.
and there’s an ellie series i’ve been scribbling for like 4 months called Hot Knife. it’s set a few years after the end of tlou2. our OFC lives in a commune in phoenix arizona, and is very intrigued by the mysterious woman who lives alone on the edge of the commune…. love this one too i really need to finally post some ellie fics guys
also i really want to expand the characters that i write for. id love to write some stuff for frankie morales soon, likely once my uni sem ends. maybe for din as well… 🚨👀 if anyone has requests for these guys i’d love to see them, some practice for me maybe haha
