Anti-technology people who insist they're not ableist crack me up. What about people who rely on machines to breathe, eat, keep their heart functioning, or otherwise stay alive? "Well not that technology, obviously!" Ok what about AAC users, people who use hearing aids, or otherwise use technology to interact with the world in ways they otherwise couldn't? "Not that technology, obviously." Okay, my mobile phone is my memory, my sense of time, my sense of direction when I get lost, my ability to contact someone when I need help. It is my personal freedom because without it I would need full time care and supervision. But yes, that technology, right?
I hate how technology is made and utilised under capitalism as much as the next guy, but to pretend that technology doesn't greatly improve the lives of countless people, or even allow them to continue being alive, is to be willfully ignorant to the existence of disabled people. A world without technology is a world where a lot of disabled people don't get to survive. Capitalism is the problem, not the technology. Technology can (and should) exist just fine without capitalism.

I have one consistency, which is being against the totalitarian - on the left and on the right. The totalitarian, to me, is the enemy; the one that's absolute, the one that wants control over the inside of your head, not just your actions and your taxes.

they certainly WERE radical and often socialist in many ways but I don’t think people who want to hold up bundists really get that there was a lot about the bund that was pretty normie too. Like one of the big arguments was about the language for Jewish public elementary schools and how to run Jewish public elementary schools, how to run libraries. Their thing was about living in a multiethnic socialist state - that’s politically and economically leftist but socially liberal. If we want to find a modern equivalent I think it’s in groups like omdim byachad and hand in hand schooling and whatever the local polticial organizations are in the places Jews already live. The whole society and politics are inherently fallen we need to go leave capitalist destination for a socialist agricultural commune? We need to build a new unfallen culture from scratch? THAT WAS THE ZIONISTS.

btw antisemitism is still bad in spite of what israel is doing in gaza and in spite of everything it has done towards palestinians. every once in a while ill see an unambiguously antisemitic post that directly squares the blame on jewish people, or praises explicitly antisemitic organizations. sometimes i find known antisemites' posts circulate around because of whats happening right now.
the fact that theres a genocide in gaza and the fact that antisemitism is bad do not conflict with another. dont use a genocide to justify or excuse bigotry.

"Someone with Punk ideology that doesn't listen to the music is just a leftist!!!"
I'm sorry, did I miss the memo where we're supposed to be "just leftists"???
Are y'all JUST leftists that listen to shouty music and dress in leather?
Are y'all not anarchists and anti-capitalists? Are y'all not willing to FIGHT - physically or verbally - the assholes that created this system and fight to uphold it? Are y'all not going out of your way as often as you can to help the downtrodden people that have been rejected by the system and by society?
Having the ideology that everyone should have equal rights is nice, but are y'all not trying to actively do something about it? Do y'all not also believe that money is bullshit, that governmental structures are bullshit, that the world is run by careless assholes and the only way to escape it is to burn it down and start over?
And also LET'S NOT FORGET that American politics are not the only fucking form of politics. Where I'm from, we don't have the left and right wing - so I ain't a leftist. Or do punks not acknowledge the existence of second and third world countries with different governments and politics 🥺???
Like. The left-wing political system ... Is still a political system. A very American political system. If your punk ideology is just leftism And That's It, and you aren't actively PRACTICING what you preach (and many "just" leftists certainly don't), then you're still ... Supporting a system. You clicked the other option on the binary "Do you want people to be equal y/n" quiz that is American politics, either not knowing or ignoring the fact that left-wing politicians don't give a SHIT about us either - that ain't anarchy.
So no, someone with actual punk ideology that doesn't wear punk clothes and listen to punk music isn't just a leftist - and just a leftist that wears punk clothes and listens to punk music should certainly take a closer look at what their ideology actually is.
And don't get me STARTED on people that wear punk clothes and listen to punk music and have conservative political views.
