Alright tell me your complaints about the Jekyll and Hyde fanbase, because if you don't my brain is going to subconsciously project mine on you since you mentioned you had them, and that's not very nice. I want to hear your actual thoughts
OH BOY i have a lot of them. i dont think they're necessarily controversial tbh but i do have quite a bit.
my biggest complaint is the woobification of hyde. he's a grown man. he's a grown man that murders someone, and feels good about it. he drinks and has sex (probably) and does all sorts of things. he's not a baby, he's not a chaotic gremlin, he's a grown ass man!!! i also dont like it when ppl liken him to a child/give him child-like characteristics/make him too short. its weird imo. i dont like it. i think ppl should treat hyde like an adult with agency who's responsible for his own terrible actions instead of going oh woe is hyde / he's just a baby or whatever (and tbh i blame tgs a lot for this. no hate towards sabrina i just dont like that hyde is seen as "cutesy" in canon. i think that man doesnt shave his [censored])
the insistence that jekyll and hyde is about good/evil, or that jekyll is secretly bad and hyde is good/vice versa. jekyll sucks, but hyde isn't any better, the end. i don't think jekyll is a good person but he's not like, irredeemable i guess. he just sucks. he just uses hyde as an excuse to kill a guy. fuck alot. do cocaine. i mean who doesn't wanna go nuts sometimes. he can be self destructive as a treat if he wants
that jekyll and hyde are completely separate people. once again i blame tgs for this (sorry sabrina) which is like. its not the point of the story i guess. im a strickler for keeping the original themes, though, so that's just me. but also what comes with that is ppl shipping the two which i just. nope. nope!! i cant do it. in my mind's eye jekyll and hyde, though there is a degree of separation at the end of the story, are the same person. its weird and i dont like it. its only made worse when ppl woobify hyde/make him much younger. it genuinely makes me gag like stop that!!! stop it!!! :(
i dont like the musical. i just dont. im sorry to musical fans everywhere but i dont like it. :( please dont get mad at me for this. i will give them this bring on the men does go hard as fuck though (also anthony warlow's voice. hot damn)
i also dont like tgs as much. i just have issues with the writing (bc once again i love the original book too much) and also utterson isnt even there :( this also brings me into my next point is that UTTERSON!!!! he's funny and lovable and not enough ppl like him and just ignore him in favor of jekyll/hyde or lanyon (once again tgs) and im like :( no.... please....... he's funny and i like him
i think tgs is a fine enough story on its own, putting it nicely at least, but i dont like that it's greatly influenced a lot of ppl's perception of the original story. and this is coming from a former fan. it's led a lot of ppl to woobify hyde/ignore utterson/act like jekyll and hyde are separate/etc etc. just a lot of stuff that goes against the original.
idk what else to put here tbh i probably have more but cant think of any rn. i just think that we need more nuance in our discussions of these characters, shouldn't ignore certain unfavorable facets, and be open to criticism of media we enjoy. and we should also treat grown men like grown men. and be nice to eachother i guess. peace and love.

for the character ask game, Echo (ofc <3) and 3, 4, and 12?
Echo (my beloved) 🩵🩶
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
Probably that he talks so little. I mean, a name like Echo you'd think he'd talk far more than he actually does. I don't think we've heard him repeat something someone says... literally ever in tbb series. Which is... disappointing. That and I'm still really bitter that there wasn't more emotional pay out with Rex when Rex is around. Like... idk... I'm going to be real honest bc I don't really have a filter today. Most of the time canon completely ignores his backstory and personality and it really irks me. Canon really mistreats him 90% of the time and for what? What reason is there to ignore him so much? This is why I love and write and read so much Echo centric fanfiction. It just gives me more of what I'm looking for tbh.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Genuinely I could not picture Echo in anything else solely because I love him in Star Wars so much. I just adore it. Ya know what I do think would be pretty cool though? Making it so Echo could meet Din Djarin. I think they'd have such a rocky start but Din would recognize that same type of stubborn indignation and exhaustion that he himself carries along with this steadfast passion for his loved ones and he'd be like... shit... he's kind of cool. I imagine Echo does a lot of reading and knows a lot about a lot of different topics and probably could info dump about what he knows about Mandalorians and their culture and he'd question a lot and bring excellent points and ask Din about his upbringing and Din would kind of love that this man talks a lot and he doesn't have to do much in the way of talking. Idk. I just love the idea of those two meeting. It would not go well at first bc Din has... trauma and unresolved issues that he's working through and Echo would wear this man down like you wouldn't believe. They'd bond over losing loved ones and having chosen families and Echo would like Din's jet pack he totally wants some sort of jet pack I just know it. Echo carves out space for himself and finds home everywhere he goes. Din wouldn't stand a chance against that kind of stubbornness.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
Ooooooh boy so many. I have sooooo many. But! Look. I know everyone thinks Fives is the trouble maker of the two of them but I'm almost 100% sure it's Echo. Echo, who knows every rule like the back of his hand (and can sweet talk his way into the most ridiculous loophole you've ever seen) He got into a fistfight in one of the first episodes we've ever seen him in. He has a dry wit and permanent exhaustion and is dramatic and has Fives as a brother and was in the damn 501st so he knows chaos and he knows it well. Echo and Fives balanced each other out in a lot of ways but I'm almost certain that Echo got them into more scrapes than Fives every did (he's just really good at hiding that he was at fault.) Fives ended up taking the fall 9/10 and he got this reputation as the troublemaker, the outspoken one. Meanwhile Echo gets to have everyone underestimate him so he can very easily manipulate the situation to get them out of trouble when he has to.

okay I've been enjoying the goncharov resurgence very much but I just saw something that caused some Thoughts. somebody posted a post-canon Katya/Sofia fic where they run away from it all and basically live happily ever after (very on board so far) but they tagged it with "idk could be canon-compliant, katya lives change my mind" and I. hm. Katya lives, yes, agreed. but the other thing. hold the phone.
SETTING ASIDE for a moment (we will return) the fact that for this fic writer it's probably Not That Deep, let me be pedantic for just a sec.
It always irks me a little bit when people tag something as "canon-compliant" that has no regard for canon's themes, or its aesthetics, or both, or etc. For me, "canon-compliant" is a little more than "doesn't completely change or break the timeline and setting of canon", it has to be (or at least make a visible effort toward being) in the spirit of canon. Disclaimer: this is entirely my problem. but again it got me thinking and I wanted to share.
Anything made about this movie where anyone (other than Sofia, for obvious reasons, but even her) gets out alive and unharmed and can start fresh somewhere safe and far away is not only against the spirit of the film, it is ANTITHETICAL to what I would argue is the main theme: the sensation of being trapped and the impossibility of change and evolution within the constraints of an artificially static sense of self (a mouthful, but it is JWHJ0715 so what else can we expect). the POINT is that they can't escape! that is what is being said about the dangers of being in the Family! you have to be one unchanging person to survive in that world, whether you want to or not! that's WHY Joe dies (and why it's so sad that he does, he was so close!). that's WHY it hits so hard when Katya shoots Goncharov and misses. THAT'S WHY ANDREY AND GONCHAROV ULTIMATELY KILL EACH OTHER HOLY SHIT like you can't ignore it! the tragedy of the thing, the greek myth levels of unalterable fate and destiny, the axis everything turns on, is the fact! that! no! one! gets! out! it can't be canon-compliant if that goes away, I'm sorry!
but sheep, you say, let people have fun. yes. I know. that's why I'm here too. I usually avoid the "canon-compliant" stuff in this fandom precisely because everything is so doomed and dour - as it should be - and when I'm engaging with fic I'm looking for the escape, too. I'm gay and want Katya and Sofia to have their fairytale ending. I just think this writer got a little caught up when they tagged "idk could be canon-compliant". it also made me think more thoughts, namely about this tag not being That Deep. it's really a testament to how masterful JWHJ0715 and Scorcese are as storytellers. one of the marks of a really good tragedy imo is getting the viewer so into the story that they forget it's a tragedy (despite how many times you tell them, ahem Father Gianni as a character, ahem clock symbolism) and begin to imagine a happy ending. when people use this kind of tag it is typically a melancholic wish that canon weren't Like That™ so it could instead be Like This and if you squint and do a bit of interpretive gymnastics it can be read Like This, and everything can be okay. and I just wanted to highlight a) how good this film is for pulling that off and getting that reaction and b) how much I love what people create from that reaction. it's just not in any way ever even a little bit "canon-compliant" lmao.

Note
LOL WHAT?! Silver I swear to God that in my phone the author's note is there!! It's the same note that I read in 2015/2017! I'm gonna copy the start of the chapter and the end so y'all can see it, Idk why tf y'all don't see it but it's there! I'm not lying. I hope I'm not annoying you Silver, but I don't want to be seen as a liar when I'm seeing the A/N in front of my eyes! I'm gonna start now: 1/?
...It didn't immediately trigger a vicious onslaught of guilt, and he was able to fully enjoy that fleeting warmth Tifa had left with him—at least for a little while. (End of chapter) A/N: Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Wow. Cloud got a LOT of hate last chapter! I was surprised yet impressed with the responses I got. You guys were pissed and very protective of our Tifa. Trust me, I GET IT! But just take a deep breath, my friends! It is not as bad as it seems! I promise! 3/?
I'm just trying to make this as real as possible and because of canon constraints that means that I have to be a bit harsh sometimes. I refuse to write one of those stories that does things like completely ignore/downgrade Aerith and Cloud's relationship to STRICTLY platonic status just to justify Cloti. I'm not doing it, and I don't have to in order to make Cloti a thing. I am not going to be all out cruel with this material, but I am not going to be merciful either because that goes– 4/?
–against the canon setting I am breaking my back to maintain. As I've said before, the stories that portray Cloud as this very open, happy-go-lucky guy who spits rainbows and has magically overcome ALL of his trauma shortly after Advent Children irk me to no end. However, I promised Cloti, and I WILL deliver. You guys are just going to have to trust me! If it were up to me, Cloud and Tifa would be married and riding off into the sunset on a golden chocobo already, but that wouldn't be– 5/?
very realistic or believable, now would it? That concludes my ridiculously long tangent/Author's Note. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoyed Part IX! « First « Prev Ch 9 of 23 Next » /// That's all. The author's note is the same one since 2015/2017. I don't know why y'all can't see it but I have a clear conscience because the note is right in front of my eyes and I will never get an innocent person in trouble. The note is there, that's all I want you all to understand. 6/6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, I think Tumblr might've eaten your second part, but since you were just quoting the text I don't see that as a loss.
As I said, it's not I didn't believe you, I just couldn't see the notes on my phone for some reason. I did find it and as everyone can see, it does exist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I'm here reading all the author's notes from that fic again and surprise, surprise there's another one in chapter 22: "A/N: Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Given the sensitive subject matter of this chapter and the nature of some of the reviews for the previous chapter, I think it bears repeating that this is MY interpretation of the events that occurred after FFVII. And you may not always like my interpretation and that is perfectly okay! Regardless, I have stayed as true to— 1/?
—as true to canon as possible throughout and that means that Cloud is going to be an ass hat sometimes (like in the flashback from Part XXI). He will do things that upset us. I personally see it as part of his character so I am going to write his character the same way. Yes, this is a Cloti story but Clerith is a thing too (in my humble opinion, Clerith is a big part of Cloti). Because of the way the game was designed, it is unavoidable. There is going to be conflict. There is going to— 2/?
—going to be some preference and room left for interpretation. INTENTIONALLY! I try to look at all the facts as logically and with as little bias as possible and still find valid arguments for both sides. HOWEVER, I obviously pick Tifa, which is why we are here! I enjoy the angst. I like that their romance is flawed. I like that they will always have their issues. I like that there will always be insecurities because that is what makes them REAL. That's what makes them relatable and— 3/?
—and that is why I love them and why I love them together. Hopefully, all of us find some common ground in that somewhere! Thanks again for reading and I hope you enjoyed the chapter! You guys are the best even when you're pissed at Cloud ;)". 4/4 This part though: "(in my humble opinion, Clerith is a big part of Cloti)" ?????????? 🙃 okay.
Tumblr media
And I combined this with the other one that continues the deluded author commentary.
Sorry not sorry, but where does clerith exist in the game? Someone please show me a non-optional scene between them, that the devs didn't retcon tf out of in Remake, that shows Cloud has feelings for Aerith.
I won't hold my breath.
All Aerith does is get between Cloud and Tifa, and because Tifa is so unsure of how Cloud feels, and is obviously more worried about his mental health than whether he likes her romantically, Aerith shoehorns her way in and makes Tifa doubt herself even more. Because Tifa is the type to back down for others happiness, even though all Aerith wants is a Zack substitute.
There is no point in the game that Cloud shows favour for Aerith. The player's options show favour, but Cloud's answers are rude and disinterested in her. I've literally shown this in screenshots.
Tumblr media
The answer from the GS date tallies with the option and either way Aerith acts like it's a joke. Cloud is pretty mean to Aerith, which is why he feels so guilty about her death in AC. He was a dick to her and never really made amends before she died and as far as everyone was concerned she was their friend. There's no romantic reason for any of it and the fact Zack is literally by Aerith's side in AC and people still acted like there was something going on just proves they see what they want and don't actually give a shit about canon.
If people wanna pretend their HC is canon compliant that'd their delusion, but acting like readers should be grateful because you didn't understand the plot or you justify all the incorrect info you spew by saying you were really young when you played or you haven't played for years or whatever other excuse pops up in your head but people should believe you because you're providing them with free fiction is just shitty.
If you don't actually know what you're talking about then shut up. Just call it your headcanon and interpretation and don't spread lies like you're part of the dev team.
Imma add I still didn't read this fic, although I do actually remember the author note from when I was looking for fics to read because it completely put me off reading. I hate when people tag fics cloti and then throw in stealth clerith. Nobody wants to be ambushed with your gross headcanon, thank you. Just tag appropriately. And if you're asking why I say that...
Tumblr media
No tags. Very fucking annoying. She doesn't even have Aerith in the tags, so you know whatever tf she threw in was gonna piss people off. It's always those with an agenda who do that.

ok so back when i was FIRST reading wof, i remember peeking into some online spaces surrounding the series and finding a whole lot of people making up their own dragon tribes. i’ve been reading the series again and have gotten much further this time, and am now going to describe to you my very self-indulgent fantribes. do they make sense? not necessarily. i’m having fun making them up though. (also i have not finished the whole series yet so if something i’ve written contradicts canon… just ignore that)
basically the first main bit of information is that these tribes are decended from an early ancestor of the seawings. at some point when those guys started breathing water, a good chunk of them split off from pyrrhia, managed to miss pantala completely, and ended up settling around an archipelago and spreading out into distinct new tribes. some in the water, some not. i will be listing them from highest to lowest geographically. or something like that idk.
StrikeWings
actually very similar to skywings in terms of appearance, though mostly in shades of dark blue and purple, with brighter blue, purple, or green vein-like patterns on the scales
they also host a whole lot of spikes and spines
if you’ve ever seen the show dragons: race to the edge, imagine a skrill. yeah that’s what these guys do. they fly around in thunderstorms and electrically charge their spines. or maybe they produce electricity like an electric eel. idk i haven’t decided yet but. they have lightning abilities is what i’m saying
StrikeWings live and build their towns and cities on the rocky beaches and cliffs of the islands of the archipelago (i am yet to name the archipelago), and cannot breathe water but do spend a lot of time fishing.
they’re tough, a little self-absorbed as a whole, and love sticking their noses in other dragons business.
CoralWings
very brightly colored. whatever color you can imagine on a coral reef, a CoralWing probably has at least a few of them on her scales
they have several curving, rounded horns, like stalks of coral
all around they kinda just look like they stuck coral all over themselves. which they sometimes actually do, but they do also just look like that.
CoralWings have no natural abilities or defenses outside of their water breathing (and their amphibiousness), due to their lack of predators
why no predators? because they live in the reefs and shallows surrounding the islands. nothing scary ever goes that close to the islands outside of sharks and the occasional orca, but what are they gonna do against a DRAGON?
easily the most sociable tribe, being close allies with both the StrikeWings and KelpWings. they also live somewhat in between the two other tribes.
they’re also closely related to the KelpWings
and they have a pretty cozy symbiotic relationship with the StrikeWings. the CoralWings offer pretty shiny things, and are often implored to do a lot of aesthetic-based work. and the StrikeWings protect them.
KelpWings
they look a lot like CoralWings, but with duller colors, coming in muted shades of green, brown, and yellow, with the occasional brighter yellow spots. they also have a lot of stringy, extended soft bits all over their bodies that trail behind them as they swim and look like kelp
bioluminescent, slippery, and can only survive outside of water for a very short period of time
the largest tribe in the archipelago, inhabiting the huge kelp forests surrounding the islands and coral reefs. they also have the most political troubles, with a specific leader for each forest. they also spend a good amount of time in open, empty waters
they have a very broad diet, eating all sorts of things. urchins, mussels, crabs, fish, an otter or shark here and there, you name it. they’re not picky eaters.
but they’re very protective of their kelp forests and always do their best to keep them in tiptop shape
TrenchWings
these ones are my favorite
huge, bulky dragons with thick, armorlike scales. they come in mostly dull dark blueish greys and browns, with the odd exception of a muted pink or orange
based off of dunkleosteus. like HEAVILY based off of them.
bioluminescent, and are incredibly sensitive to movement in surrounding waters. they also have an efficient sense of smell and have such think scales almost nothing can hurt them. oh and they cannot breathe above water and they cannot fly
TrenchWings live in underwater trenches, canyons, and caves. being so very deep below the surface, they have minimal contact with the upper tribes. there are occasional interactions, but little to no trading or friendly conversation
BrineWings
look very similar to KelpWings, but with touches of deep-sea-fish creepiness. and are almost always just shades of grey
same abilities as the TrenchWings, just without the heavy natural armor
small and skinny
they live in the same caves as the TrenchWings, but far deeper than those dragons would ever dare to go, building their settlements in huge caverns rich with life and bioluminescence
they love books and scrolls and writing. they have seemingly endless libraries, and are very scholarly. they’re big fans of information and documenting said information
but unfortunately for them, they have no contact with any tribe outside of the TrenchWings. but even to them, the BrineWings are more of a legend, or a story to scare young dragonets to keep them from venturing deeper into the caves
Leviathans (i’ll come up with a better name at some point. maybe. potentially.)
colossally sized dragons, no tribe knows much about them, cause most who come in contact with them don’t live to tell the tale
these guys are why the TrenchWings are so heavily armored. they’re the TrenchWing’s natural predator
considered monstrous and unintelligent, driven only by hunger and a thirst for destruction
i made them though, and i know better than that. they’re not as intelligent as the other tribes, they’re like the chimpanzee to the other dragon’s human. actually pretty chill, they’re just big and scary.

If you're still doing the song ask can you do Sherliam?
Yes, of course! Sorry it took me a while to get to this one lol but yessss
Song ask was make a 10 song playlist for a ship or character and since I think there's demand for this Im just gonna stick it in the actual sherliam tag!
Generally, it's a lot easier for me to do characters than ships but I have actually thought about this one a lot. I know a lot of the songs are pretty basic, but they work really well so stfu. I tried to put these in chronological order according to the storyline from when they first met to where things are now, but a lot of them would be simultaneous, so yeah lol

Catch Me If You Can by Set It Off: I made an amv for this song as well with them, and I really cannot think of any song that fits them more than this one to be perectly honest. I mean. Catch me if you can. But seriously it is everything with how they interact with each other. They're having way too much fun with the game, they're playing with each other and leading each other on and both on opposite sides and completely in sync. Motherfuckers are basically canonical soulmates but hmm intellectually fighting each other is basically sex for them.
From The Gallows by IDK HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME: As soon as I read ynm I knew this was exactly Liam to Sherlock. I think a lot of my ships fit this dynamic very well, but. Yeah. Mans is like yes we are enemies yes I'm deeply in love with you please judge me to be worth saving or not so if you don't think you can kill me and I'll be happy. Pretty straight forward there.
Masterpiece Theatre I by Marianas Trench: This one is Liam singing, and I think that altogether, the whole set of those three masterpiece theatre songs work for the whole series, both the anime and manga. But the first one especially. God, it works so well. It's all this incredibly guilt ridden person lamenting their great plan and how at the end they 100 percent plan to let it all be destroyed, including themself, over Yearning towards someone they're not supposed to be with and that they've been hiding a lot from. They've become all lies and fronts and they've had to ignore all their emotions for quite some time, and all they want to do is give it all up and cry into this person's arms even if it would go against everything they've worked for, even if it would kill them.
Collar Full by P!ATD: This one is pretty easy, I think both of them could be singing it at once. They're both awfully head over heels for each other and they've been pining for an ungodly amount of time that their natural state is just Yearning, but they know that if they ever got together it would be a chemical reaction that would destroy everything. All of the world is watching them and they have to hide it or die, they know if they were to be open about their secrets there would be nothing left between them to stop it from all falling apart, so they'll try to be together and try to pretend to be oblivious to why they can't. At this point though, it's been so long and all they've done is fall farther that they don't really care and they would rather collide and let the chaos happen just for the chance to embrace each other. AND "You've got a pocket full of reasons why you're here tonight, so baby tonight just be... the death of me" is LITERALLY JUST THE CANON
Hell by Dear Sherlock: I cannot believe how lucky i was to come across a song by a band called DEAR SHERLOCK? But yeah this one basically delves into Liam in the final problem, in his thoughts and in his letter. He's not in a good place at all, and he's sunk to his darkest, thinking himself to basically be the devil incarnate, and things are coming to their climax, shit's going to go down, and he's obsessed with trying to get Sherlock to kill him and end it all. Liam has been holding back all his emotions for a long time and they're all going off at once and he wants to expose all of them to Sherlock alone, leaving him vulnerable. Even though it's the thing he's always been most scared of, he craves it. He knows he's in love and he knows that's a problem but he'll do anything to die at Sherlock's hands at this point and he's convinced that Sherlock must hate him enough to do it but he'll confess everything anyway.
Achilles Come Down by Gang Of Youths: Surely, everyone knows this song, and it can be way overdone, but once again... it's them. Sherlock is desperately trying to convince Liam not to jump. Liam isn't listening.
Come With Me by Chxrlotte: I've actually made a sherliam amv to this song. I just happened to stumble across it and every single lyric fits perfectly into the storyline, especially in the anime. It's super soft and shippy yknow but this one is definitely Sherlock singing it- he doesn't care if they're supposed to be on opposite sides, he wants to make Liam happy even if the whole world is against it. He'll cross any line to reach him and he wants to always be there for him and even if he has to wait years and years he'll always forgive him and no matter what he believes they'll eventually reunite.
It's Alright by Mother Mother: Man, this song always gets me, but I think this really encompasses how good they can be for each other after it all goes down. They've both been incredibly reckless, self destructive, and kind of fucked up. They each have complimentary problems that make them feel like they're barely worth being alive. But because they love each other so much and they want the other to survive and be happy, neither of them is allowed to die, and they're going to live on together and they're going to heal each other and they're going to cry to each other and embrace each other and learn to live with themselves and get better and fix everything. God, they need it so much, and they need each other.
In Our Bedroom After The War by Stars: Again, I know this song is overdone, but just imagine this after the fall? Imagine this when they're both healing from the fall and learning to live with Billy in America? And like, it's a really tentative time, they're all still hurting so much and Sherlock has got to constantly worry if Liam is gonna throw himself off the fucking roof? But he hasn't yet and it looks less and less likely that he's gonna, so that's one good thing at least. They're able to settle down and try to calm their nerves and get away from the shit that's happened, and they cling to a very domestic routine, at once still so broken but healing and constantly reminded of just how much they have to be thankful for.
Laughter Lines by Bastille: I've always thought of this as a song for nezushi (from no. 6) because of the whole eventual reunion somewhere far down the line yearning but GOD they REALLY DID THAT IN THE ANIME and even kind of in the manga they have still been separate from each other a lot and on like, other ends of the goddamn planet. They spent a long time trying to be able to reach each other and get together, and they finally got to a good spot where they're able to accept it. Because so many things happened and there was a lot yet to be done, they had to leave each other for a long time with no way to contact each other, but they'll be waiting for the time when the other can finally come back and they're both healed enough to settle down. Cries real tears.

The Attack.
Tumblr media
Part Four of the ‘Blood and Beskar’ series.
The Mandalorian x Fem!Reader (Eventually)
Word count: 4.2k
Warnings: Season 1 Spoilers- mostly follows canon, with a few little extra bits sprinkled in, Swearing, Violence (She’s an angsty one), injury/ trauma- blood, unrequited feelings(or are they?), Cara Dune (idk if she should be a warning but in this fic I like to think of her as more of an OC)
A/N~ Oof the reader goes through the works in this chapter. I am so grateful for every like, comment, follow or reblog. I know it’s not much but I started doing this because I was bored and didn’t expect anyone to read it let alone like it. So thank you, I hope you enjoy this chapter xxx Feedback is always welcome :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Bad News. Can’t live here anymore,” Mando addresses the village people
You turned to look at the Mandalorian. Could he have been any blunter?  When he doesn’t move to soften the blow of the statement the villagers burst out in cries of frustration and confusion. What’s and whys being thrown left right and centre.
“Nice bedside manner,” Cara comments, staring at Mando’s head.
“Think you can do better?” Mando sasses, gesturing for Cara to take the lead.
“Can’t do much worse,” she replies, sarcasm lacing her tone.
Smiling, and standing upright Cara walks forward to address the crowd of villagers, whilst, Mando leans against the wall in a huff like a child. Social skills weren’t really his strong suit, but in his own stubborn way, he had tried. You chuckled to yourself, this earned what you could have presumed was a glare from the Beskar helmet to your right, you didn’t respond, just turned back to focus your attention on Cara who was trying to keep the peace.
“I know this isn’t what you wanted to hear, but there are no other options,” Cara argues
“But you took the job,” Stoke shouts, rousing the crowd once again.
“That was before we knew about the AT-ST,” You shot back quickly, gathering the villager’s attention to you.
“What’s that?” Stoke asked
“The armoured walker with two enormous guns, that you knew about and didn’t tell us,” Cara replies sternly.
“Please, Help us!” The crowd erupts once more
“We hired you!”
“We have nowhere to go,” Omera states, bringing her daughter closer to her chest. Her statement yet again aimed at the Mandalorian lounging against the wall behind you. You watch as she continues to stare in his direction, the feeling that you had felt yesterday when she had shown you to your hut and completely ignored you bubbled in your chest. Were you jealous? No, she was just asking for help. You had no right for these feelings anyway, he wasn’t yours. You sighed and re-entered the conversation.
“Sure you do. This is a big planet, I’ve seen a lot smaller ” Cara reasons
“My grandparents seeded these ponds!” Caben argues and the crowd continues to shout.
You understood their frustrations, their home was being taken from them and you knew what that felt like. But you struggled to find a probable solution.
“I understand, I really do, but there’s only three of us,” Cara says. You smile at your inclusion, even though the circumstances were poor it was nice to be treated like something more than a babysitter.
“There’s at least 20 here!” Stoke counters gesturing to the rest of the adults in the group.
“We need fighters, let’s be realistic,” Cara exclaims
“We can learn!” Another voice shouts, followed by pleas.
“I’ve seen that thing take out entire companies of soldiers in a matter of minutes!” Cara yells, you could tell her resolve was wearing thin.
“We’re not leaving,” Omera states, eyes trained on Mando behind you.
“You cannot fight that thing.” You repeat sternly stepping forward, eyes on her.
“Unless we teach them,” Mando voices from behind you. You turn to look at him in disbelief, joined by Cara glaring at him angrily. She lets out an exasperated sigh and turns back to the crowd.
“We can discuss a plan in the morning,”
You don’t listen to the rest of the conversation, as you notice how Omera’s focus is on Mando, and how he’s staring in return. You roll your eyes, turning your attention to the child who’s playing in the dirt beside the hut. Picking him up you begin to follow the others who have started walking to the barn to discuss the plan further.
You sat on the floor with the kid in your lap, stroking his ears and letting him play with your shirt in hopes of getting him to fall asleep. His movements were slow, you could tell he was tired, but his babbling still continued at a normal rate. You were barely listening to the conversation, too focused on the kid snuggling in your lap when you heard your name mentioned.
“Will, Y/N help us fight?” Omera asks turning her attention to you.
Before either you or Cara could reply Mando steps in.
“No,” He replies gruffly
“Wait! Why not? I am more than capable,” you argued, your eyes shooting daggers at the dark visor of his helmet.
“I said no,” Mando counters roughly, holding your stare.
You open your mouth to reply, but your answer dies in your throat. Don’t say anything you will regret you thought to yourself. So you continued the staring competition you and the Mandalorian had started, refusing to back down.
“Please,” Omera sighs, placing her hand on Mando’s arm, looking up at him “We’re going to need all the help we can get,”
Mando glanced down at the hand on his arm and then back to Omera’s eyes, then back to yours. “You will stay, and take care of the children,”
Right. You huffed to yourself. Of course, you were the babysitter. Why would you be asked to be anything more? About to argue back, you looked at the kid, asleep in your arms, you’d promised yourself you would protect him no matter what, and you were going to do it. You glanced back to notice Omera’s hand was still on Mando’s arm, you didn’t like it. Not one bit. You stood and made your way to the barn door without looking back.
“Putting the kid to bed,” You grumbled, leaving the others.
Cara chuckles as you leave the barn. She’d been observing your actions, and how much your demeanour changed when the Mandalorian was around She’d noticed the way you tensed whenever Omera got close to him, and how that would set you up to be in a foul mood, which would usually end in you bickering with the Mandalorian. But she also noticed the way the Mandalorian would steal glances of you from time to time, like now as you walked away to your hut, he’d brushed Omera’s hand of his arm and the dark visor of his helmet trained to the door you had left not moments ago. She smirked, this was going to be fun to observe.
You walk back to your hut, the sleeping kid in your arms. Once you’d looked at him, all the anger and frustration you felt melted into the background. You had to protect him no matter what. Even though it was your job, it was something you felt you had to do, you’d break every rule and give your life to protect this kid. That much you were sure of.
You place the sleeping child in the cot and rock it gently making sure he stays asleep. Once you’re satisfied he was sound asleep you take off your thigh holster, and remove your blaster, placing the knife and the blaster on the pillow, you sit pulling off your shoes.
Your peace is squashed moments later by the familiar metallic sound outside the hut. The sour feeling you harboured from before returns, making your blood boil. You hear a soft goodnight from what you would assume was Omera, and you let out a scoff just as the Mandalorian enters the hut. He turns to you and you can tell that he’s analysing you the moment your eyes meet the dark visor.
“Goodnight,” You say bluntly only adding to the tension surrounding the both of you, you turned over in your cot to face the wall.
The Mandalorian is confused. He doesn’t understand why you were suddenly so off with him, he didn’t want you in front taking out the walker because he needed you to care for the child if something happened. He realised that he just wanted you to be safe. He sighs looking at your frame once more, then lies back into the cot, slowly falling into sleep.
-----------------------------------------------------
In the morning Cara and Mando explain to the villagers the plan. The two of them would draw out the raiders, whilst the rest of the village would defend the farms, and you would care for the children.
The village went straight to work preparing for the fight, half of the village worked on building barricades for the edge of the village whilst the other half worked on expanding the krill ponds, in order to get the AT-ST to fall into.
Each day you helped on both projects dividing your time, between chopping logs and digging trenches. At the end of each day Mando and Cara would train the villagers in close combat with sharpened branches. By the end of the week, the village was prepared.
The morning after, Mando and Cara stood in front of the group of farmers. You sat with the child on your knee, waiting for the chaos that was about to unravel.
“Okay, who knows how to shoot?” Mando asks the crowd.
Unsurprisingly, nobody in the crowd raised their hands, as the continued to look at each other nervously. That was until Omera raised her hand. Mando nodded his head and moved to the crates full of weapons, passing out blasters and a modified pulse rifle to Omera. Of course, she knew how to shoot, and of course, she’d get a more complicated weapon, you rolled your eyes. Shaking your head in the realisation of your petty thoughts.
The rest of the villagers aimed their blasters at the frying pans ahead and the blaster shots hit pretty much everywhere but the targets. You notice Omera hit the frying pan dead in the centre, causing Mando to look down at her, clearly appreciating her skills. Yet again you found jealousy bubbling away in your chest. Maker, this is pathetic you thought to yourself. You clenched your jaw and tore your gaze away from them. Jealousy wasn’t going to protect the kid, you needed to get over yourself and focus on your own plan. You turned away and walked towards your hut keeping the child at your side, placing him in his crib when you entered the hut.
“If it wasn’t for you kid, I’d be long gone,” you confessed, stroking his soft ears gently as you sat back against the cot looking out of the door.
-----------------------------------------------------------
As the sun began to set, you knew it was time for the plan to be put into action. Mando and Cara would go and provoke the bandits bringing both them and the AT-ST to the village.
Cara had come to check on you, and make sure you knew the plan and what you had to do. You both walked to the middle of the village where the people were busy getting ready for the fight to come. You and Cara walked towards Mando, close enough to hear Omera talking to him.
“We’ll be ready for them,” you heard her say as you got closer.
And after that, they just stood there looking at each other. You took a deep shallow breath and looked away at the children playing to your left. Your breath caught Cara’s attention and she stopped walking to look at you. She saw a flash of hurt in your expression before it changed to a blank expression. She looked back to Mando, who was beginning to walk over to where you both stood.
“I’m going to round up the children,” you mumbled before Mando could reach where you stood.
As he watches you walk away, Mando looks to Cara, hopefully conveying the question he wanted to ask, she just shrugged, beginning to walk out towards the forest. He follows catching up to her when he reaches the treeline.
“Care to explain why she couldn’t come with us?” She asks referring to you.
“She needs to look after the kid,” Mando states plainly, walking through the bushes
“So, it’s got nothing to do with the fact that she’s the furthest away from the danger, when you know she can look after herself,” Cara inquires
Mando huffs in response. He was just making sure that the kid was safe, and he knew you would keep the kid safe. He trusted you, that’s all.
----------------------------------------
After gathering all the children in one of the huts furthest away from the trenches, you wait, your heart in your throat. The children are huddled together, their faces show expressions of fear and your heart breaks. You know the feeling, it reminded you of the day the empire attacked your planet, and your family were killed, you weren’t much older than the eldest children there.
Your thoughts are interrupted, by the distant sounds of shouting and the deep thud of what you guessed was the AT-ST. The children become restless, some starting to cry at the noise of blasters and shouts. You move forward to soothe them.
“It’s going to be okay, I promise nothing is going to happen to you, I won’t let it, but I need you to keep quiet okay,” You say in a hushed tone bringing your finger to your lips to indicate the need to be quiet.
The low thud of the AT-ST stops but you don’t hear the explosion that was expected, the blaster fire continued piercing through the air. The sounds of foreign shouts were getting louder, nobody was supposed to get this close, they weren’t supposed to get past the barricades. You knew what you had to do. You turn to the children, placing the kid in one of the eldest’s lap.
“You look after him okay, I need you all to be super quiet for me, I promise I’ll come back,” You assure them, swiftly leaving the hut and guarding the door.
The outside air was foggy, the red shots of blaster fire blistering through the air in both directions. You notice the AT-ST still had to fall into the trench, it was so close just one more step.
Your focus is then brought to the shouts of raiders close to the hut. You pull out your blaster and knife preparing for the fight. The first raider that comes into sight you take out with a single shot, along with another to your left. The next raider charges at you, and you swiftly move out of the way slashing your knife at its head, you kick out catching the back of the raiders thigh, causing it to fall to one knee, you raise your blaster and shoot. Two more raiders appear from the fog charging at you, one lunges at you as the other moves forward, you manage to block one advance but not before the other slices your thigh. You cry out in pain, throwing your knife into your opponent’s chest, bringing your knee to the others face, landing a punch to its side. But it senses your weakness, and runs at you straight on, tackling you to the floor, losing your grip on your blaster you fall, the raider placing his hands around your neck choking you. You find it hard to focus, your vision becoming blurry, as the raider strangles you. But in the back of your mind, you remember your promise, to look after the kid no matter what. You regain your focus, your hand searching on the ground for your blaster, grabbing its handle and pulling it to the raider on top of you, pulling the trigger. His grip loosens, and you gasp for your breath, just as a large explosion erupts on the edge of the village. The walker had fallen. The village had won, the sound of cheering erupted through the air. You push the raider’s body off you and crawl your way back into the hut, collapsing against its wall trying to gain your breath back.
“It’s gonna be okay,” You reassured the children, closing your eyes, focussing on your breathing.
-----------------------
Mando’s immediate thoughts were you and the kid, he rushed to the hut where the children were. He noticed the bodies of five raiders outside the hut. Shit. They weren’t supposed to get this far. He walks over to the entrance of the hut noticing the trail of blood, he rushes through the door. The children are still huddled together, the child in one of the older one’s lap. Mando looks over to you, you’re propped against the wall, eyes closed, your breathing was rapid but shallow. His eyeline drops to the large gash in your thigh, blood pooling beneath your leg, his heart drops. You look up, your eyes meeting his through his visor.
“Oh hey Mando,” You chuckled, causing you to wheeze, then wince in pain.
He moves forward towards you, lifting you up bridal style carrying you towards your shared hut. Shouting to Cara that he needed a med pack, he places you on your cot, he uses his blade to cut the material surrounding your thigh, so he could assess the cut, it was deep, blood still trickling out onto your exposed thigh.
“Mando, you could at least buy me a drink first,” You chuckle gesturing to the torn fabric. You smiled deliriously from the blood loss.
“Maybe another time,”he laughs softly, as Cara arrives at the hut with some bacta patches and a syringe. He injects the bacta into your thigh, you hiss in pain but then calm as the cool solution runs through you bloodstream providing quick pain relief.
You manage to sit yourself up as Manda bandages your thigh, too high on the pain relief to acknowledge how close his hands were to your bare skin.
“Thanks,” You wheeze, coughing again. This draws Mando’s attention to your face, and then your neck where dark bruises were forming in the shape of fingers.
He points to your neck, ”What happened? Who did this?” he asks, his heart pounding out of his chest. They weren’t supposed to go anywhere near you, and now you could’ve died.
“It’s fine the other guy came out worse,” you chuckle, lying back down into the bed, your eyes feeling heavy.
The last thing Mando hears from you is the small whisper of  “Did what I had to, to keep the kid safe.” you close your eyes, your breaths evening.
---------------------------------------------------------------
You wake the sound of children playing outside the hut, your mouth was dry and your head a little fuzzy, as you try and piece together how you’d ended up in your hut. You groaned as you sat upright, a plate of food had been placed at the side of your bed. You smiled and picked it up, eating the contents quickly, as if you hadn’t eaten in weeks. You look to your thigh and see it perfectly bandaged, only the dull ache from the wound. Wow, bacta really does do wonders you thought to yourself. As you turn to assess your surroundings you notice a pile of folded clothes at the end of the bed, it was another one of Mando’s shirts and a pair of trousers. You smiled, taking a deep breath of the shirt as you placed it over your head, it smelt like him, it made you feel safe. You shimmied on the pants and pulled on your shoes and made your way to find the Mandalorian, to thank him.
The kid was sat surrounded by the village children, playing games and laughing. You smiled at the sight, he was safe. You see Mando talking to Omera, so you sit with the kid and wait for the right time, to thank him. You turn and start playing with the kid. Mando and Omera walk closer to where the children are playing, close enough so you can hear their conversation.
“He’s happy here,” Omera observes
“I’m leaving the kid here, the life I lead isn’t safe for him,” Mando responds
Your heart drops Was he leaving you here too? Or was he going to hand you in? Why had you expected any different? He’d found a place for the kid, and here there was no use for you, your job had been fulfilled. You’d go back to being alone, or half-dead in a cell in the middle of nowhere. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes, as you turn to stand, you look at Mando just as he turns to see you walk away from the village into the forest.
You find a quiet clearing near the edge of the woods and sit against the nearest tree. Tears were spilling down your face, and your mind moved as a sickening pace. You close your eyes, attempting to maintain a steady breathing pattern.
The sound of a twig snapping to the side of you causes you to open your eyes, looking that direction of the sound. Before you can stand a heavy fist meets the side of your face, you jerk to the side trying to keep your balance. You look over to see one of the bounty hunters from Nevarro, the beeping of a tracking fob resonating in your ears- he was here for the kid.
You raise your hands and call out to him, “Hey, look just take me I’ve got a bounty on me too, its a pretty big one, just leave the kid and the Mandalorian and take me okay,”
The bounty hunter doesn’t move just stares at you, hand moving to his holster. Okay, so we’ll do this the hard way you thought. Before, the bounty hunter can draw his blaster you move, ducking and extending your leg out kicking the bounty hunter from his feet. You run deeper into the forest, in the opposite direction to the village, if you give him a hard time maybe he’ll leave the kid and just take you. One payment is better than no payment right?
Before you can get any further the bounty hunter tackles you to the ground, you fall hard, the pressure excruciating on the wound on your leg. You cry out, thrashing against the bounty hunter as he cuffs you behind your back, hauling you up to your knees. You try to jerk backwards, in an attempt to knock the hunter off his feet but you’re not strong enough. The butt of the hunter’s rifle connects with your head, and he drags you to the edge of the forest, setting up his rifle.
“Please just take me, don’t hurt the kid, just take me, you can kill me and still get my bounty,” You plea, your eyes blurring from tears and what you were certain was a concussion.
The bounty hunter ignores your pleas and adjusts his scope and places a finger on the trigger, aiming at the child. You try to call out to warn them but your voice is broken and only a wheeze escapes. You look over to see the Mandalorian, with his helmet between Omera’s hands, slowly beginning to raise it off his head. You’re overwhelmed with sadness and regret, you’d failed at protecting the child and you’d failed at expressing your feelings. You close your eyes, expelling more tears down your face.
A single blaster shot rings through the air, and you hear the body drop beside you.
You look over to see the bounty hunter’s body a smoking pile on the ground. Cara stands above it with a hardened stare, which softens when it moves to you. She helps you up and just as she helps you out of the cuffs Mando appears from the treeline in front of you blaster raised. He looks at you, then Cara and then to the body on the floor. He kicks the body over to reveal the tracking fob, picking it up, he turns to face the village and the tracking fob blinks rapidly.
“They know you’re here,” Cara states, glancing at you
“Yes,”
“Then they’ll keep coming,”
“Yes,” Mando replies, placing the tracking fob on the ground and crushing it beneath your boot.
He turns to you. “Why did you run off?” He states roughly.
Your eyes widen. He didn’t ask if you were okay, he just cut straight to the direct questions. Anger bubbles in your chest.
“I overheard you talking to Omera, Mando, about leaving the kid here, and considering I’m such a big inconvenience to you I thought you’d be taking me back to collect your bounty or dropping me off on the nearest planet!” You yelled the tears starting to well in your eyes again.
He doesn’t respond. Unable to deal with his disappointment you walk back to the village, wiping away the tears on your face, and hissing when your thumb grazes against your split lip.
--------------------------------------
The Mandalorian stands there silent staring at the empty space where you were just stood looking up to see you walking back to the village. He turns back to Cara, hoping she’ll answer some of his questions.
“She could’ve been killed why did she run away, reckless actions get people killed,” Mando gruffly complains.
“You really are as stupid as you look,” Cara scoffs, crossing her arms across her chest.
“What are you talking about?” Mando asks
“First of all, she could’ve died yesterday, she killed five raiders in order to save the kid, and just now she practically screamed at that hunter to take her instead of you and the kid, she was willing to die so that you could get away!” Cara yells pointing her finger into the Mandalorian’s chest, then walking away to the village
Instantly, regret fills his chest making it hard to breathe. You’d fought to keep him and the child safe and he hadn’t even asked if you were okay, only bombarded you with questions. How could he be so insensitive? You’d been hurt twice now and it was his fault.
He had to make this right.

This sucks so much because I really cannot read asks I dont see in real time, I have the same amount of reading comprehension for them as I do Frankenstein XD
Dm me links to any important syndicate asks I miss while I'm gone 👍

Bannnnnn I tried to draw the Jekyll brothers but Kent? Is inconsistent? The database (what I use) showd him as a clean shaven guy with a bit messy hair but google is showing Kent as a completely different model? Neat hair, Brokenshire beard. Like it's the ingame "identify" zoom in and I cant check whats right before I already killed himmmm
Anyway here art <3. I know I said I'd draw the DTIYS first but art inspiration is stored in the Syndicate au <3

Also I've been thimking about Henry wearing a mask +plus ponytail to hide his identity like for the past two days. Yknow those theater masks? The weeping and laughing? He wears the sad one while in the Blighters and Templars and the happy one while in the Rooks because hes a dramatic theater nerd. Also! I like to think that if Jekyll has to be a templar he'd still wear the Blighter uniform when he could and pretend hes not high ranking. He gets away with it because Crawford doesn't care about him and Roth lives for chaos
I also drew Henry in a mask and ponytail but it's not done yet 😔
-
Also I did the math the the twins are 3 years older than Jekyll. Like thank goodness first of all because I fully went into ship entirely unaware on if there were canon ages or a scary difference. But also Jacob being 3 years older than Henry is kinda funny to me
-
All of Evie's outfits (besides her default) are bad and I'm gonna fist fight the designers because the secrets of london (where I only searched the locations of 3) is so bad, especially with the effort needed. How did they do Jacob so good, but utterly fail with Evie /lh
NOOOOOOO D: Man, I really hope you will get it back asap, and also that your house don't burn down!!
Man, if I don't know your struggle rn. However I shall do my best to link you to every syndicate ask that I will get from here on out bc I don't tend to get small asks for that au so <3
--
Huh-- oh wow you're right. I wonder if it is a set design or just a bit on random depending on the save file... I killed him a long ass time ago so I have absolutely no idea how he looked like <3
EITHER WAY OH MY GOD IT LOOKS AAMZING. I love??? How you gave all three individual personalities in just a single picture??? Kent looks like he is seconds away from murder and I LOVE Henry in the templar outfit, it fits him so well??? Man I really want to start thinking more of this branch. Would the entire Jekyll family be Templars so the trio got that role inherited? Are Raphael and Kent unidentical twins and Henry is the odd-one-out because he is the youngest? Were the three of them really close in Scotland, but left as soon as possible bc their family was abusive, only for Kent and Raphael to find refuge in the Templar Order while Henry goes to university? Would they still have that brotherly love if they were close as kids even when they are in the Order, or would they have a falling out and start despising each other (or Jekyll @ the older brothers at least)? Would Raphael and Kent secretly be protective of Henry and manage to keep him out of Starrick's line-of-sight so that Henry won't get in trouble for defying orders/ignoring them? Would they force Henry to join the Templars with threats or would Henry mostly feel obligated to join them? Since the Templar Order isn't illegal in London, would other people know that Jekyll is a Templar, or would he keep it hidden from the public? Would his brothers help hide his identity?? SO many questions and I'm so sad I won't be able to discuss them with you :'c
(also can I just say I love the poetic differences between their clothing. Raphael is just wearing a waistcoat/basic clothes and he is a brute and more open, Kent is wearing more clothes/layering up and he is the "brains" out of the two of them, Jekyll is wearing the most layers and is almost trying to hide himself and I just... *chief's kiss*)
--
Henry being a dramatic theater nerd and stealing Roth's costume supplies to hide his identity bc he is so ashamed of it and doesn't want people he knows to know about it my beloved <3 Plus the blighter uniforms doesn't look too far off of what he normally wears so he could probably use that as an excuse whenever some other Templar gets up his ass about not wearing the right clothes, yet it still doesn't make Henry feel any better knowing he has to bear the knowledge that he is actively wearing discreet blighter clothes to keep the Order happy and the public oblivious, knowing what cause he is reluctantly supporting. (him joining the rooks and suddenly coming into the Society all dressed in green lol)
Anyways I have now also decided that Maxwell and Henry are friends bc they both hate the Templars and Crawford and Henry gets to star in many of the plays he sets up. Plus they are both slightly insane so they match each other good.
YKNOW WHAT I WAS DAYDREAMING ABOUT WHILE BRUSHING MY TEETH RIGHT AFTER THIS ASK? Jekyll being forced to be the one to murder his brothers and the twins trying to track the murderer down just to know who tf are killing their targets, conveniently at the same time Maxwell starts meeting Jacob. Henry watching Jacob from afar getting smitten by him but keeping a distance bc he knows Maxwell is possessive, Jacob being the first to befriend Henry after Maxwell explains that both of them are against the Templars and Crawford, Jacob saving Henry during the fire of the theater? Yes pls <3
--
Thank god bc here I was imagining an age gap of like idk 15 years bc of the differences in the timeline but! I'm just going to keep the canonical age difference while also shoot the timeline up a lil so that the events of Syndicate and TGS takes place at the same time but they are the right age and stuff, just bc I do not like Evie's and Jacob's older designs and I do not want to imagine them meeting during the Ripper dlc <3 Also the thought of Jacob being older than Henry is funny. I think Henry has a type /j
-
They are so fucking bad and I'm going to scourage the Nexus to see if I can find any good redesign mods because they are so fucking bad. But to be fair, all female main characters' outfits are bad. Pearl? Lucy Thorne? Mfs looks like vampires. Even more reasons for why I only play Jacob, bc all other outfits on Evie are bad <3

Spoilers for DR1, obviously. I decided to remake this list because my opinions on all of the characters have changed significantly since the last time. I’m honestly not even super happy about this one.
I see no god up here other than me:
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Oh my lord, he’s perfect in every way (except for the thing, which I’ll get to). He’s funny, he doesn’t feel entirely insignificant, and he’s got a cool, sad backstory to dive into if you like him enough, but it isn’t required to do so throughout the main game. Everything about his genius/hard-working motif is brilliant. I think it’s incredible how he’s actually the opposing force to Komaeda rather than Junko, even though no one talks about it and the game doesn’t really use it that much. His whole backstory with his grandfather and father is so sad and I’m so proud of him for getting to be where he is today, even if it didn’t quite happen how he wanted it to. The one exception to this practically perfect prefect is, of course, the elephant in the room, Kiyondo Ishida. Here’s the thing: I think Kiyondo could’ve worked really well. However, as far as I know, Taka was swapped out last minute with Hiro and had to die in chapter 3. I honestly think this was the worst decision the franchise made after making Mikan... the way that she was. The only reason people hate Hiro is that he survived the first game. I’ll get to this more later, but I honestly really enjoyed his character for the first three chapters. After that, though, he got a little stale and even a bit annoying, especially the Kyoko being a ghost bit. I feel like Hiro really overstayed his welcome and his presence could’ve been more than made up for by the comedic duo of Hina and Taka. I understand that choosing the survivors of each game is difficult and a very meticulous process, but let’s just consider the interactions with other characters for now. To start with, Hiro hardly had any positive interactions with any of the other characters in the back half of the game outside of Hina calling him out for being an idiot. If we put Taka in his place, he could’ve had serious moments with Kyoko and Makoto, helping them to solve some of the mysteries. He also could’ve played off of Byakuya and Toko’s relationship in telling them that PDA is “not welcome in a school environment.” And the crowning jewel of missed opportunities, his interactions with Hina. They’ve both lost their best friends in the whole world and have no one to rely on. In canon, Hina had to do a character 180 just to keep up with Hiro’s idiocy and not break down about losing Sakura. However, if we had Taka, he could’ve helped her to get through it because he would’ve already gotten over Mondo with the help of Ishida. See? I brought it back around. If Taka had been able to resolve his issues with Ishida in chapter 3, he would’ve been able to help Hina to develop her character through the loss of Sakura in chapter 4. I think this would’ve been so much better for both of their characters and I weep for what could’ve been. But for some reason, Hiro just had to stick around.
Mondo Owada - I’m honestly surprised I talked about Taka for that long without mentioning Mondo. I don’t actually have a lot to say about Mondo that I won’t get to with Chihiro, but this is basically your warning to be ready for another rant and it also serves as a break from the last one. Mondo and Taka are perfect for each other, Mondo is the most sympathetic killer, bar none, and even though I’m not a huge fan of dogs, Chuck is so precious.
You’re the best:
Celestia Ludenberg - Pretty goth lady. That’s about it. She could’ve been better in chapter 3, but I honestly still really liked her plan and her breakdown was phenomenal. My favorite thing about her though is her execution. Her execution fits into the thin category of executions that include the element of specific despair, basically meaning that Monokuma made it specifically to make her sad apart from the fact that she was dying. She was ready and honestly excited to be burned at the stake because it would guarantee her an interesting death and therefore an interesting life. But then, she ends up just dying in another boring old car accident, many of which happen every day. It’s fun to watch her expression and demeanor change throughout her execution, it’s one of my favorites.
Chihiro Fujisaki - Oh boy, it’s the one I expect to get hate for. Buckle up, lovely people, it’s time to get personal. I personally headcanon Chihiro to be a cisgender male; however, I also believe that you can headcanon anyone to be anything you want. There is an exception and it’s when that headcanon specifically derails something the character was trying to present. In this case, it’s toxic masculinity and the importance of appearances in society. I’ll preface this whole section with a statement: I’m not trying to be transphobic. I could see Chihiro being a trans male, but cis or trans female just feels counterproductive to me. Let me explain. Chihiro’s entire existence is used to parallel Mondo’s. Chihiro has a strong will with a weak body, while Mondo has a strong body with a weak will. Mondo is seen, in canon, as a super manly character who is strong in both heart and body, but he doesn’t believe himself to be this way. The only strength he’s ever seen is through aggressive violence, and that’s how he shows his strength. This is proven in the fact that when he felt weak against Chihiro’s strong will, he killed him out of fear, which he had grown to believe was strength. However, since Chihiro had a weak body, people treated him as unmanly, even though he was strong-willed, so he believed that everything about him was weak and learned to be submissive to everyone else’s desires. This is proven in the fact that he dressed and acted the way he did specifically to please others, not himself. It’s shown in multiple free time events that he hates the way that he looks and that he hates dressing to appease other people. It’s not even necessary to turn to the FTEs to gain this information, it’s obvious from the fact that he goes to Mondo specifically to get stronger in what he thinks is both mind and body, as he’s been known to think that the two are connected. It can also be understood from his dialogue that he wasn’t trying to get physically stronger for himself, he was perfectly comfortable with his body, he wanted to get physically stronger so that other people would leave him alone. These are the effects that bullying had on him. Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but whenever I see Chihiro as female, trans or otherwise, it feels as though those people want Chihiro to subject to the bullying because it more closely fits their ideal. It just feels like evidence of toxic masculinity because since Chihiro is feminine, he must be female, even if he says otherwise. The difference to me between this and say, trans Gundham headcanons is that with Gundham, there’s nothing in his character that goes either way, so it’s fine to headcanon him however you want. But when Chihiro explicitly states that he wants to be seen as male, he’s ignored and pushed aside as “another missed opportunity for trans representation.” But he’s not a missed opportunity for representation, he’s just representing something else, toxic masculinity. It’s obvious that it goes over people’s heads because they don’t seem to understand this at all. I’m not trying to be rude, I just want people to understand that just because the representation isn’t specifically for the group you want, doesn’t mean that it isn’t good representation. I can talk about this more if anyone wants me to, but it’s almost 1 AM and I’m not sure how much longer and I can form cohesive sentences and I’m not sure this is the best argument to test that on.
Genocide Jack - Idk, she’s funny. I’ve already gotten past most of the characters I have strong opinions on. Whereas in the second game, I have strong feelings about my favorites *and* my least favorites, I really only have favorites in this game and everyone else is pretty neutral.
Byakuya Togami - He was actually originally my second favorite character, but I realized a good way into the series that I didn’t actually like him that much. He’s not as smart as he claims to be and he isn’t as well written as Komaeda or Kokichi. However, he does have one truly fantastic moment in the first game and that is during chapter 4. When it’s revealed that Sakura killed herself, he shuts down. It’s impossible for something to have happened that he didn’t predict and he truly believes that. It’s incredible to see his complete shift in character (at least for this trial) and I absolutely adore that moment. Everything else with him is still kinda meh.
Hey, I think you’re really cool, I like you a lot:
Sakura Ogami - There’s literally nothing about her that I can say that hasn’t been said already. She’s perfect and I love her for it.
Aoi Asahina - Like I said during my Taka rant, I think she would’ve been much better if she didn’t have to accommodate Hiro. The first game had a much darker tone than the second and Toko/Genocide Jack already had the comedic relief role covered. She and Taka could’ve still had their fair share of funny moments together, but I feel like she could’ve gone through Akane’s arc during the second game, but better because she would’ve been able to build off of Taka, who already went through the same thing. Either way, she’s cute and I adore her and Sakura’s friendship.
Sayaka Maizono - So I actually made this list back in January (it’s currently the middle of April) and just never got around to making it and since then, I’ve fallen in love with Sayaka. It may or may not have to do with me being cast as her in a secret project that I’ll announce later, but she has my heart regardless. Now, I’d probably put her behind Chihiro and ahead of Genocide Jack. She’s just such an interesting character and while it’s a shame that she died so early, I still think she wouldn’t have been as good if she didn’t die so soon. For the record, I think both Sayaka and Leon were morally in the wrong. However, Sayaka was doing it for her friends, while Leon could’ve stopped at any time and really only went back for himself. Sayaka is not a snake. Thank you, goodnight.
Mukuro Ikusaba - She’s definitely my neutral point. I have one of these in every DR game, even if I don’t realize it. I just don’t really have any opinions on her and it’s not even because she wasn’t in the game for very long. I just don’t know how to feel about her. I just finished Danganronpa: Zero and that boosted Junko way up in my book, but it didn’t really change my opinion on Mukuro at all.
Kyoko Kirigiri - I get the hype, I really do, but I just can’t get into her. For starters, I don’t like Naegi all that much, so of course I’m not going to like the people that hang around him all the time. The most I’ve ever liked her is while watching videos of her along with “Not So Bad A Dad” from Phineas and Ferb. Other than that, she’s extremely neutral for me.
Toko Fukawa - I’m including her appearance in Ultra Despair Girls, but it didn’t really help her much. I liked her in the first game, but it was only because I was going through a weird phase of obsessing over people and now I just think it’s weird because it is. I went into Ultra Despair Girls knowing that she got character development and then completely forgot to pay attention to it because I was so enraptured by the Warriors of Hope. So, I don’t know, she’s just kinda creepy and I didn’t really notice her (or Komaru, for that matter) in UDG.
I remember you:
Junko Enoshima - Like I mentioned during Mukuro’s segment, I just finished Danganronpa: Zero and it was a wild ride. I made this list before I had even started the book and I was mostly just confused by Junko. I didn’t understand her motivations or any of her plans, much less how she was able to achieve anything she was. But once I finished DR0, it all made sense. I won’t spoil it here, but she was incredible in that book and I wish I had caught on to everything earlier.
Makoto Naegi - I feel bad, but I have to compare him to the other protagonists. He’s just so boring, and I know that that’s the point of a protagonist, but Hajime proves that it doesn’t have to be that way. Makoto’s just kinda there all of the time. For example, in DR0, he shows up for one scene, but he literally doesn’t even do anything. He stands there, talks to Ryoko, is scared during a fight scene, and is never seen again. It’s really frustrating to know that he’s only there because he was the protagonist of the first game and it’s like “Wow, you know this character!”
Yasuhiro Hagakure - My only opinion on him is that he should’ve died in chapter 3. My only explanation for why he was so high on the original list is because I watched this one hysterical panel for DR1 and Hiro was by far the best character there. In the game itself, I liked him until he overstayed his welcome and cost Taka his shot to be memorable.
Leon Kuwata - I honestly can’t explain why I dislike him so much, I just really, genuinely do. He’s just kind of annoying, but that’s about it. Like I said before, I don’t really hate many of the characters from this game, they’re mostly all loved or neutral and he’s just the most negative neutral.
You are literally the worst. Actual scum. Leave this planet and never return:
Monokuma - You know the drill by now if you’ve seen my other DR tier lists, it’s kind of an obligation at this point.
Hifumi Yamada - Why. Why is he like this? Why is he this way? Honestly, he’s not nearly as bad as Teruteru or Kazuichi in the perv department, but I just hate him so much. I don’t understand why he is the way that he is, but I do understand that I’m happy he died in chapter 3. Honestly, I could’ve done with him dying earlier, but it is what it is.
It’s 1:15 AM and I am done writing. I’ve been putting this off for months and I figured it was finally time to get it over with and it definitely didn’t have anything to do with the fact that I can’t sleep. I hope you enjoy all of this and if you would like me to elaborate on anything, just drop me an ask and let me know. I’m always happy to explain any of my opinions and want to make sure I’m as clear as possible. Please do not spread hate about me until you’ve made sure you understand my point. Then go to town.

Throwing random thoughts, headcanons, and a variety of pasta at the wall (but only those having to do with vessels and/or their biology this time): The Thrilling Third Installment™
...aka pretending i can be dark and dramatic jskhdfd
Thk's larger form is not the standard, but the exception. Thk was cited as being "raised and trained to prime form", which people take to mean pk assisted in the vessel's natural growth. However, that conclusion leaves a lot of unanswered questions, most important of which being “then what about Ghost?” In short, I think that train of thought is backwards. Vessels can't grow- they are ageless, and immortal. We know this due to Ghost, despite living as long if not longer than thk, being completely unchanged over the years. The only thing pk trained into "prime form" was thk’s mind and fighting prowess. Their body... well, I think it was mutated. Most likely either directly by pk, or ordered by him- and with the shenanigans happening over in the sanctum, I wouldn't be surprised if Soul was involved, too. In any case, it was in no means natural. Vessels are corpses reanimated by void; neither corpses nor void tend to make drastic changes on their own all that often. Whether pk predicted the vessel’s “issues” and intended to manually “upgrade” them from the beginning, it's hard to say. But... yeah. Unless Ghost goes out of their way to make themselves grow- if its even possible, now that pk is gone- its fairly safe to say, they never will.
...with that in mind, we are promptly gonna ignore that for the rest of this post lmaooo
Grown-up vessels wouldn't look like thk; while they are described as being raised into "prime form"... prime form, to whom? Rather than looking like an idealized pk soldier, it sounds much more fitting that they’d have an entirely different, natural adult form. Consider: their cloaks being longer and fuller, perhaps filling out into something with a more practical use to their “species”. Better yet, they could even grow up to be more beast-like. Feral vessels, YEhaW
The black egg temple is cited as being "built to sustain [vessels]", yet it can't be their lifespan that is sustained. Rather, it seems the egg is specifically designed to keep the radiance from tearing thk apart, physically and/or mentally. Ngl its p obvious, but worth noting.
Sorta-au where Ghost’s shade has 8 eyes, and/or is generally all-around more cryptid-looking.
@ the sharpshadow charm and the strange, 6-eyed creature their shade turns into: kudos to this post, they bring up something super interesting- the creature not only resembles the Shade Lord, but the lord outright becomes it during the Embrace the Void cutscene.
Tumblr media
makes me respect the ol’ civilization a whole lot more if a single charm can turn a baby shade into a baby lord.
The concept of finding ghosts unconscious body, laying next to a corpse, while they battle in their dreams. Alt: when ghost enters the dream realm, their shade leaves their shell... And protects their body from harm.
If steel soul mode is taken as canon, just how did ghost and the shade meet? Alt: Ghost may never have “met” it at all, as it technically doesn’t exist in that mode- instead, its more of a metaphor than an actual entity.
What the vessels looked like- or were supposed to look like- before the void. Alt: a story following a child, alive and untouched, that somehow managed to be spared. They could even have a gender. Alt alt: the void intentionally spared them for some purpose, or even out of simple kindness- or at least, something that resembles kindness.
Re: the shade inexplicably having a nail: all the vessel's swords are crafted from “will-bearing rock”- of which i’ve come to lovingly call living stone- and as such, are of void themselves. That's how the shade seems to conjure up its own copy; it merely shapes it, from the ground, using void. And, while more of a stretch, Ghost’s nail being some sort of living stone/pale ore alloy could explain just how Ghost can do seemingly pretty crazy things with an otherwise ordinary nail. Better, while 100% a baseless hc, its material might actually enable Ghost to build it up and modify it to suite their size as they grow older. finally, a logical reason adult Ghost has an adult-sized nail-claymore. hdsfghjfghdsjf
On that same thought: Ghost outright invented the "art" of manipulating- or creating- living stone to make their nail. ...gimme a sec. The other escaped vessels have nails, too, right? Either meaning they also discovered this ability... or that theres some legitimate ground for the “vessel gang” hc. Or, yanno, i’m reading too much into Ari’s sprites but sHHhh
How did all the vessels know to race to the top? They seemed to be falling merely because they had just been born and had literal, actual baby strength; yet not only did they inexplicably risk everything competing to the top, they somehow knew death was waiting if they lost. Alt: pk just, bringing a fucking megaphone and telling them like a sports announcer.
What if Ghost made it, and instead of falling, they managed to joined thk at the lip? What would pk do? Push them off the edge??? Or just adopt them both?? Oh fuck au where they're raised as twin sacrifices. Or worse yet, they’re raised unequally, and one is trained only as an afterthought. As a backup.
Alternatively, pk keeps all the vessels au, only a few years later when they're grown. Pk now has a literal army of pure knights. Radiance is fucked.
Hm. If vessels were fully coherent entities from the moment of birth, why was there a crib in the white palace? Did... did they use it? I have a feeling team cherry made that asset before the abyss scene lmaooo alt: they did, uh, use the crib. Cue a very awkward scene of thk, clearly not a normal baby, staring at wl with like... idk, the poofy baby hat and pacifier. I can’t tell if the image is more funny or more sad rn shdfgfjsdgg
The og notes that inspired this post, in case my rambling makes more sense (and w/o the awful comic hjsfgjsdfhj): Oh oh OH i GET it now. The void is all about "will" and whatnot, right? And shades are "fragments of a lingering will"- will, like the one you leave after your death, but instead of inheritance its the vessels' desires...last regrets.... DAMN team cherry, that symbolism is clever as heck. That took me a while. Kinda funny how a will is, technically, a person's last regrets Like I knew they were last regrets but I didn't understand WHY. Duh, it's because they're literally Made Of Will. They are the vessel's "wills". I'm so stupid.
Ghost, walking thru the abyss, getting increasingly fed up / freaked out, ducking into a crack in the wall. They follow the crack into the Scream Chamber, pause, then exhale in relief that this was EXACTLY what they needed.
Ghost's shade rolling up its void-sleeves like “fuck it, ima defeat thk myself”
Why was thk's sword there? Was its pedestal decayed? Did it fall from their body? Was it place there as an afterthought, or hurriedly? alt: taking thk's sword before freeing them, but doing the mom thing like you're grounding them hdhfjchjch
I can’t believe it just occured to me now, but... as objectivley stupid as the vessel’s test was, Ghost... technically came in second place. What if that whole scene was a metaphor? Because really, it’s just too silly to take seriously. To do so isn’t too far fetched, either; many other elements in the game’s story are better taken as symbolic or metaphorical, anyways. Take the PoP cutscene- while it could’ve been a literal moment, where they just happened to find themselves standing around and took the moment to appreciate each other... imo it makes much more sense to read it as the concept of their faint ~forbidden love~ and parental pride itself. Or, better yet, the scene at the end of the 4th pantheon. Sorry, but I severely doubt that was an actual event. What I’m trying to get at is the significance of “second place” in the cutscene. My brain is too fried to chase down any other possible connections to this theme rn (if thats even what the theme is), but even without proof, the theory smooths out a few interesting tidbits related to just how Ghost could tough it out when all others failed. All except for #1, anyway. Either way I’m just happy to take this as an excuse to pretend that cutscene didn’t literally happen because like, l m a o
The story of a small group of vessels as they work together to escape hallownest. (aka the aforementioned vessel gang hc... im sure theres a more formal name but you get the idea). Its impossible to tell how long it took them to discover that near-invisible hole, the last exit remaining after the king ordered the abyss to be sealed up. Once they did, however, the remaining vessels were quick to make a desperate scramble to escape- only for the entrance to suddenly crumble shut, far, far too soon. The remaining 8 slowly made their way through deepnest, their numbers quickly dwindling as the jouney started to take its toll. The group was nearly wiped out by those terrible, spiney-legged creatures that used their own kinship against them. Only three finally escaped the deep, yet only two made it through the basin- the third, largest sibling, left to fight alone againt a hopeless battle, just to buy the others time. It was in greenpath, so close yet so far to their goal, that the second succumbed to the infection. It was a mercy killing, that nail through the heart. The last, after all of that, finally made their way to the very precipice of howling cliffs, hesitating for just a moment to gaze out upon the still-fresh ruins of hallownest. But only for a moment, before Ghost jumps down to begin their journey beyond this wretched place.
A vessel running from its shade as it tirelessly pursues them, the vessel refusing to put it to rest.
tw: suicide, + personal on main
Ugh ugh ugh ugh Either thk was fully conscious and in terrible pain for all those years... or they couldn’t feel anything at all. The former is horrible, but imagining thk waking up, chained, unable to do anything but wait for Ghost to heed their call? Did they turn their nail on themselves to help Ghost, end the pain, or some awful mix of both? For someone who has personally dealt with close friends and family that struggled with suicide themselves, hollowknight is one of the worst horror stories I've ever seen. And the fact that the story is so personal, so open to interpretation? The fact that each character is so genuine yet vague enough to be read completely differently to someone else’s biases? Its why hollow knight- the game, and the character- will forever be one of the most powerful stories to me.
in short, good LORD THIS GAME IS SO FUCKING SAD

Finished Hyrule warrior age of calamity...
And i loved it so much, but if my heart (read : biggest crush on zelda) is satisfied, my brain can’t help but think of a way to improve it (as always) so here are my thought under spoilers x) Feel free to ignore me, it is purely to play with scenario in my head !
First thing first : the base story ; while i do love the idea of time travel (it would be hypocrite of me to say otherwise as 80% of my fics plays with it) I do think it could be played on better in this story. For me the biggest flaw is that they don’t play on the “will they, won’t they?” that comes with time travel fix it, by stating immediately that Terrako (tiny eggrobot) comes from the future and is changing the future by its mere presence.
How to fix that -> This is probably the change that would take most of the work. First thing first, i would make the jump back in time further in the past ; enough for terrako to be seen as the “seer” that predicted the Calamity ganon’s return. Which happens i think (if i recall the lore right, when Zelda is around 7 years old, right after her mother’s passing). I think it would be interesting for 1 small prologue chapter to be about this. It will change the “twist” in the story endgame but the twist is, in my opinion, less important than the tension we couldget from the “will they/ won’t they” throughout the whole game.
In my mind it would go like this : we play King of Hyrule + Urbosa, background character Zelda’s mother and Hyrule’s chancelor (Astor but not you know, nt corrupted yet) as background characters not-playable (or maybe Zelda’s mother to show what it looks like to fight with the power?)/ probably having to protect them is the mission + maybe Link’s parents as PNJ solider battling alongside the characters and Cass’s master the Sheikah that sings balad in the Hyrule castle.
1rst battle (somewhere in hyrule) : The chapter starts with the reports of monsters becoming more and more frequent, and so the royal family investigates it. As it could be a sign of the calamity ganon returning (says the queen) the chancellor is doubtful : how many monsters is a sign? Do they have records about it? How can they know? Won’t they just put themselves in danger for nothing? Of course his prediction rings true and the monsters surround the place. They have to evacuate the town and organize strongholds around the town to protect it. (Introduction to Link's parents as hylian captains in charge) + King asking the Sheikah to go ask for reinforcement Zelda’s mother saying Urbosa is close. Then once the stronghold are in place, the purpose is to hold it until the time limit ends, when Urbosa arrives with her troops as reinforcement and they eliminate the monsters completely. Demo at the end of the battle shows the queen is looking around the place and finds terrako lying on the ground / in the ruins + the sheikah plate. The king and her decide to bring it to inspect it / offer it to her daughter as toys (to make the King of Hyrule a little bit more likeable through his relationship with his wife and daughter first in between battle), against the chancellor’s wishes.
2nd Battle (in the hyrule castle + castle town) : The Queen is teaching Zelda how to repair terrako with the help of the Sheikah chief (and maybe Purrah as kid and Impa?). Like in the story, Zelda repairs terrako and shows it to her mother, which says she is very proud of her. Terrako however runs away as soon as it can, and the battle is to catch it as it runs around the castle and causes havoc. Urbosa (who is here for a visit) has to catch it before the King of Hyrule notices it. Once the battle is over, the Sheikah can finally analyze the data within terrako. It brings the information that the calamity is indeed coming back.
3rd battle : The chancellor advises the king and queen to be careful, as sheikah technology had been buried deep for a reason (maybe bring up the lore of the Hyrule family betraying the sheikah and so the birth fo the Yiga clan). He says he believes in the common way to predict the future and asks to use a ritual to confirm the queen + terrak + sheikah’s prediction. He says it could be a trap from the Yiga clan. To prove him wrong, Urbosa goes spying the Yiga clan. (Idk what it could be, a mix of infiltration, kind of mission and battles? To capture a Yiga?) Anyways it’s Urbosa again with one Hyrule captain as a guest. In the meantime we are on another battlefield, where the king assists the chancellor in his ritual in the time temple on the great plateau. He has to protect him until the end of the ritual? (With the other hylian captain) At the end of the battle, baby!Zelda is lead to the battlefield because of terrako, when he reaches the temple of time some corruption seeks in during the ritual, while the chancellor gives of the prophecy that beasts are buried beneath the ground and that could help fight the calamity. It is unclear what caused an explosion : terrako’s presence or the corruption, or the ritual, or maybe even a yiga? Anyways something happens the queen protects Zelda and the king with her power. We skip places : Urbosa gets the news that the Queen and the chancellor has been killed.
End of the prologue chapter with a funeral demo. Adding Zelda acting dignified through the funeral. Someone in the crowd says it is sad, as the princess is young, and will probably not remember her mother at all. (To justify Zelda forgetting Terrako) Maybe a scene with young Link (with baby mipha here near to show they’re friend, among the zora delegation) being told by his remaining parents that he has to protect the hyrule family like the parents that were as a temple (and implied that died too) did.
Another addition i would put in the game is the possibility to go on inside the map without enemies in between battles (to look for korogu but not chest) ; and be able to purchase things here once the markets are opened/unlocked. It would allow people like me who like to see the landscape / comparison between breath of the wild and age of calamity to be satisfied. Of course it is optional you can go inside the map or purchase directly on the menu like you do today.
Let’s go back to the game.
So now after we go through the first chapter that is not changed one bit, Terrako appears like usual. The only difference is that during the first half of the battle, there’s a discussion between the King and an unknown soldier who says an old storage of the queen’s has been touched by the canon’s fire by accident (or maybe make a monster reaches the canon and adds a art where Link has to defend the canon from a monster waves). The soldier also says the magistrate impa went to check on the damage done and retrieve what can be salvaged (which explains Impa’s presence and her holding the sheikah plate) Which explains why terrako is lying on the ground later. You have access to missions in the hyrule castle.
Another change i would do for missions : some of them lead to small demos as a reward that deepens the information you get on the characters. Each character has at least ONE serie of missions that leads to demos. Also, there’s two series of missions that leads to the retelling of breath of the wild + ballad of the champion dlc demos. I mean it it’s very important. Once you complete these missions you get to see again the memories you had in those two games, with almost no difference (except some alteration you can notice oly when your rewatch it, like not wearing the champion tunic yet / not carrying the master sword yet, or terrako being behind from afar, providing the outside pov we had in there (like seeing Link and Zelda’s backs). Also some mission are accessible within a certain time range. (and it’s showed on the map, terrako icon is up and saying until which chapter you have to complete).
Anyways the first missions you get are :
(Epona serie) The king of Hyrule requesting says Zelda’s new horse is ready and to retrieve it to Malon’s ranch. >Later> Leads to Zelda having trouble with her horse and Link giving her advices (maybe leads to special mission where you are on horses’ backs, only being able to use Link and Zelda on horse’s back and later Revali, flying, and Riju with mme Patricia) >later> Leads to the demo of BOTW where zelda explains she will go pray to the wisdom source.
Other missions you could get :
(Link’s past serie) Adding a new quest for Link and his remaining parents to show the pressure he is under too.
(Zelda’s training) Adding new quest showing Zelda praying/meditating to show she tries. It makes Zelda prays in the temple of time, or other divine places (like the one in BOTW where there’s a giant goddess statue, or to ancient gods like Naryu..ect...), it ends at localizing the spring of strength.
(Romance serie optional) Adding a serie where the player can choose who Links ends up with. (Link has choices between Zelda, Mipha, Sidon) ; (Zelda can end up with Link or Impa -yes i’m sorry not urbosa, since urbosa knew her mom i think it’s for the best ><).
I have no idea for the champions, but you’re welcome to add/imagine one serie for them. Here are some other missions that could be added :
(Astor) -> This serie of missions is used to learn that astor = chancellor that has disappeared in the ritual on the great plateau. He was saved by the calamity ganon’s corruption.
(Sheikah’s ballad) -> This serie of missions is about Kass’s master and his unrequired crush on Zelda / hatred toward Link. You would have missions like  helping him find inspiration for his songs, or protecting him while he travels with you.
Other details/alteration :
-OUTFITS are easier to get throughout the story and every character gets one. You cannot play the character in the zone until you get the right outfit for them and wear it (winter clothes for Zelda/Link/Impa in the Rito for example). That way people can customize their characters earlier. (For example Revali and Mipha need a special outfit in the field with lightning?)
-Also in the gerudo town map, only female characters can enters the town, you’re automatically switched off the male characters if you do venture in.
SO THIS CHANGE : the first half of the game is longer and makes sure the player wonders if the future of breath of the wild is going to happen still like it did.
For that here is the order of the previous games memories put in order (and modification added) :
1)Memory of Zelda snapping at Link for following her by king’s order. (Change is Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit).
2) Memory of Urbosa being requested to help through by Zelda/ King of Hyrule at the end of her recruitement chapter + scene at the end of it.
3) Memory of Darruk talking to Link at the end of his recruitment chapter (changes are Link does not carry the master sword and is in his knight’s outfit)
→ After Darruk’s recruitment there’s a quest that leads to Zelda’s discussion with Darruk featuring in the champion’s ballad.
4) Memory of Zelda’s meeting with Revali at the end of the chapter of his recruitment (needs ; everyone’s snow outfit, zelda’s horse quest completed - no change)
5) MIpha’s memory with Link happens after her recruitement.
6) Mipha’s conversation with Zelda in the champion ballad is held after her recruitement battle and Link’s awakening of the master sword. (no change) after a mission.
7) After Link gets the master sword, there’s a serie missions where zelda needs the ingredients to make the champion’s outfit. (You need to unlock the ability to dye armors too, and the blue color). it leads to two memories : the informal ceremony requested by darruk in BOTW, and the Ballad of champion demo where you are intronized by the king and later have a picture taken of the group. (Only alteration is that line where they say they have yet to unlock the other abilities of the sheikah plate, and you can see terrako looking at Impa taking the picture).
8) Revali’s memory with Link (botw) happens once Link has the master sword too.
9) The memory where Zelda asks if links hears the master’s sword voice happens in a serie where you improved the divine beasts + after a first mission with darruk driving his divine beast.
10) I suppose the memory with Yiga pursuing Zelda can happens during the chapter we fight Yiga / infiltrates them.
11) Same with Zelda’s sleeping next to urbosa. It happens once you’ve improved the divine beast + did the first operation with Urbosa using her divine beast.
12) The silent princess memory is here with a serie of mission dedicated to save it, like there is in the game already and the frog mission. You also have to complete all the previous memories stated before this one.
13) The Zelda’s training mission serie leads to localize the strength source and ends up with the memory where Zelda prays there.
14) The memory of Link and Zelda having a heart to heart under the rain happens during Link’s personal serie of mission.
15) The memory of Zelda helping Link after a hard battle on death mountains happens once you completed the serie of extreme fire missions that is already in the game.
16) The memory of Zelda having a fight with her father happens after the spring of courage disastrous mission and a series of missions that started after the 2nd battle of chapter 1 (where you fist fight a guardian) that had the goal to be able to use guardians. Once you have this memory you cannot do the mission about sheikah technology for a while.
Finally the last memory you have in this first half of the game is the one with the horse riding, right before the chapter where calamity ganon awakes. Where Zelda says she will go to the spring of wisdom tomorrow for her birthday. It is the end of the serie mission about epona and her white horse. (no alteration except terrako being seen at the end and maybe a skip to evil!terrako so we know why Calamity ganon is awakened sooner, because Astor saw this through him and so acted upon it)
Now that the first half is done, the game can continue like it had, with going full canon!divergence and the game is almost the same as it. The only changes i would do are :
-Adding a serie of missions WAY BEFORE (like in the first half of the story) where they find the shrine of resurrection, maybe even a battle mission on it before where someone is injured and you have to carry them there to test it.
-Altering Zelda and the King’s reconciliation :
1)When the castle is attacked, and the King is left behind : adds Link’s remaining parent by the king’s side and telling him to protect the princess at all cost to add a bit of emotion to Link too.
2)Then making the runs outside the castle another battle mission leading to the memory where Zelda breaks down in Link’s arm like in BOTW but ends up with Impa and terrako finding them, out of the forest and the scene we had where terrako sing the song to Zelda (+ seeing Revali’s divine beast in the sky) at the end.
3) Akkala’s fortress retaking takes place in the same way as before, once you rescued all the champions. But the reunion with the king happens right before the Hateno fort battle. He has been brought wounded there and you meet him mid battle while protecting the place. So the scene where the kind is already proud of his daughter BEFORE she gets her sealing power. The flash back scene happens here explaining he got saved by the metal part + adds a little bit of him saying he was afraid he would lose her to the sheikah technology the same way he lost her mother/ the chancellor...He is surprised by her leading the troop so well and retaking Akkala. Also it’s not sure he will survive yet it is said, and when she asks about Link’s parents he says they got separated and doesnt’ know if they made it. So the scene where Zelda panicks when Link is about to die and thinks of her father (and maybe adding Link’s parents) still happens. She unlocks her sealing power.
4) After the Hateno battle a little bit more is expanded by Yiga’s chief recruitment, and we can see the king is better but sees his daughter leading the battle proud. The great plateau battle happens, and instead of a reveal of the king being okay, he saves zelda from an attack at the end of the great plateau (and same scene, with him saying he is proud of her).
Here it is a satisfying reconciliation for me. The one we got suffers from the crappy redemptions arc tropes we always have “yeah now i’m okay since you got exactly where i wanted you to be and so i have little to change about my mindset” so nope. Nope. Big nope.
The rest i would change almost nothing, to the rest of the game. (Except maybe as i said missions quests where you learn more about Astor / About Kass’s old sheikah mentor who had a crush on Zelda / and a little bit about every character’s past, but that’s optional). The explanation for Zelda forgetting Terrako is the same as she doesn’t remember being called little bird or her mother’s face in te memories we have of her, as stated in the funeral scene.
And i’m done with “what i would improve in the age of calamity game” thanks for reading xD See you for the next game !

AFO!Izuku
Alright so I was watching a... comic? (Yes, watching, as in watching it in yt) idk about Izuku having AFO and accidentally stealing Bakugou's quirk which led to the Midoriya's leaving Japan and going overseas with Hisashi, who happened to be All For One, so this idea came to me as a different take on Vigilante borderline Villain Deku.
(sorry for every mistake you may see here, english is not my native language)
AU in which AFO is Izuku's dad and Izuku inherited AFO, thus leading to him taking quirks from his peers when he was a child because he didn't know how to 'turn it off', which then led to him not having a lot of friends because the rest of the kids were afraid he might try to steal their quirks indefinitely. He went overseas with his family to try and 'forget' about what happened and maybe get a better hand at controlling Liability, his quirk.
Once he's back in Japan, after AFO v AM fight (the first one) news broke out about The Greatest Villain™ having a heir somewhere around the world (which the people would be confused about, but not the villains, THEY KNOW about the Lord of the Underground, they've heard the rumours, so) so word spreads about Izuku without no one knowing is about him exactly, but Bakugou Remembers, he never forgot about 'the Deku who steals quirks' which would be really difficult to evade, given the fact that Katsuki is the powerhouse he is in canon and pretty much everyone hates him, fears him or fawns over.
With this in mind, Izuku knows there's no way for him to become a Hero, not if he wants to be recognized as All For One's son, so his best route to achieve his dream is by doing it out of the law, being a Vigilante.
By this point either way his view of the Hero Society is more wide open, HE KNOWS the difficults of having a quirk that doesn't fit society's standards, HE KNOWS how hard it is to be viewed as the "bad one" for something you didn't have control over, HE KNOWS people would judge you based on literal bullshit if they can, so he doesn't risk it, he can't risk it for his mom, for the safety and the love Inko needs after "losing" his husband.
(they both are very aware of who Hisashi was and Inko is heartbroken, so Izuku doesn't want to make it harder for her by going out on full display on UA by wanting something that doesn't belongs to him)
This leads to him wanting desperately a change, to go out an Do Something for those like him, for those who are ignored by the ones who only wish more recognition, for those who, like him, were casted aside as "liabilities" for the Society.
He wants to be an All Might of sorts, but a little more... Discreet. Without the big announcement, the smile, the 'bunny ears'. He takes more after Eraserhead.
So, he becomes 'Reprise', a vigilante (criminal for those Good Ones™) who goes 'berserk' at night, beating up all types of Real Criminals, going from drug dealers to genuine Villains, freeing neighborhood after neighborhood and doing what some pros are supposed to do.
He takes the quirks of those who he despises, those who he thinks are the worst of the worst. With them, he doesn't hold back, he ambushes them, takes them off guard and takes their quirks as soon as he can.
It's a little bit like Stain, without the murder and the intensity, but he does share a bit of his ideals, mostly when it cames down to the 'True Heroes' and all that jazz.
News start to spread about the new 'villain' going around beating others just for fun, which leads to other villains wanting to prove themselves by conquering the 'Mad V', thus leading to those same villains ending up without a quirk and a wake up call.
(He's not directly involved with UA and the stuff happening to Class 1A, just briefly jumping in to stop Stain and saving Iida's life (IIDA'S LIFE, unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that Iida's entire life/career changed after that, the Hero Killer achieving his goal of damaging him forever))
With word on the street about a new vigilante doing 'God's Work' and defeating Villain after villain, the rumours make their way into UA halls and the police force, alerting Tsukauchi and Nedzu, which eventually leads to Bakugou knowing about it and having his suspicions.
(Neither Bakugou nor Izuku have encountered each other since the day Izuku left for America, so that)
Now about his appearance, he doesn't have the typical Gucci Eyebags for having insomnia, no. He does have the Gucci Eyebags for going around beating villains so late at night.
He IS a bit different regarding his looks, he DOES has his messy hair, but with an undercut (bc only God knows how much I love Undercut!Izuku), and tends to wear normal clothes. In short, he's not far from Canon Izuku but he's definitely different.
He's not the sad depressed snarky Izuku we love to see in fanfics, no. He's more compossed, polite, kind, but he is a loner, tends to stay in the corner of the room to try and get a hang of his surroundings. He's that kind of anime guy who is serious, has a few friends/classmates that he's friendly with, and mostly evades spotlight. He's not depressed, he's angry at the world for being unfair and angry at himself for allowing the world to hurt him.
That changes when he is Reprise. He becomes this violent vigilante who wants to make a change, who goes out at night to pick fights and steal quirks and do what the Pros don't. He's snarky, sarcastic, rude, he talks back and throws insults around the street as if nothing. He's not afraid of getting injured, he welcomes the pain as a reminder, a reminder that he's doing something and that Something is making other people feel safe and protected.
The Night is Still Young tends to be his catchphrase.
He actually goes with a therapist.
He continues writing his notebooks about quirks and pros, and even villains. He has a whole pack of them with all the quirks he has taken, how they function and how to improve them.
He goes to a well-known high school for Geniuses and Prodigies with interests in sports, maths, sciencies and the like, even those who want to make a living in the support drpartment goes there.
He thinks his fort is his Mind.
((I don't think I have to point it out, but his meeting with All Might & the Sludge Villain doesn't happen in this au.))
(Shigaraki is well aware of his existence, he doesn't know it's Izuku until Reprise tries to ambush him. Shigaraki's thrilled with the rumours about a heir of AFO running around ruining business, so he would obviously want to meet him at some point and maybe try and recruit him, convince him to join his Father's side.)
His first real, face-to-face encounter with Katsuki and the rest of Class 1A (some of them at least) happens during Kamino.
Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, Uraraka and Tsuyu are the ones who rescue him SOMEHOW, i'm not going into details because I can't think of them right now, but THEY saved Bakugou.
It's when the news about a creature created by the LOV broke out that he found out about his dad's survival. So he tries to gain information by breaking in the police's archives (thanks to a friend of his who happened to be a hacker) which led to him finding out about the upcoming raid at the LOV base, but he's Izuku, he KNOWS his dad, he KNOWS the type of man Hisashi is.
So, while the League of Villains location is there, he doesn't goes there. He makes an investigation of his own, finding clues, proof, following people. Using common sense, he finds the Warehouse where his dad is supposed to be.
Only, he doesn't makes it that far. He's scouting the area of Kamino, walking around aimlessly, praying that the raid goes well so the Pros can leave it there and continue pursuing fame so he can go to that same Warehouse and confront his dad and maybe throw a few punches and cry a few tears when all Hell breaks loose.
There's a thunderous tremor around him and the screens lights up and there's All Might, in all his glory (he's not a hardcore fan anymore btw) standing in front of a terrifying villain, and suddenly Izuku is very, very scared.
And so, he watches. His heart is in his throat, ready to be thrown up as his Dad fights against the man he used to look up to. He watches as All Might buries All For One into the ground like an unused toy, and he's a mess, he's crying alongside the other people, but he cries for his dad, for the man that he loved so much, and there's this feeling of bitterness in the pit of his stomach that he wants to ignore so desperately.
So he turns around and starts walking again. He remembers his dad, working with him and helping him to control his quirk, giving him the best hugs of the world, cheering him up when he was feeling like a waste of space. He remembers the loving husband and father that Hisashi used to be and he's feeling really miserable when he stops abruptly and looks up to find Bakugou just a couple of meters ahead of him.
The rest of the rescue squad is there, too. They're looking from Bakugou to Izuku really puzzled because the firecracker they know is eerily silent and this boy is just there, face blank with just a little bit of puffiness in his eyes.
So Bakugou, a witness to all the madness from that night in Kamino, with pent up frustration and anger, goes completely blank with emotions and calls him Deku, demands for answers to questions such as 'the hell are u doin here?' 'are you with them?' 'are you playing hero again, uh, fucking Deku?'
And Deku's just there, overwhelmed by grief, because he lost his dad in what he suspects is national television, and he knows his mom is probably at home, probably saw everything. He knows Inko is just as heartbroken as he is, and that hurts like hell because it's his Mom, his everything, the one person that holds importance in his heart that he has left.
And seeing Bakugou at that exact moment, it's too much, he's emotionally incapable to deal with him of all people at that very moment. So he just. Can't.
He looks at Bakugou, he looks at him, and says "you haven't changed anything, Kacchan" and Izuku completely ignores him, keeps walking as if nothing happened, as if it isn't a blonde pomeranian screaming after him to 'stop looking down at him, you fucking freak'.
(when he makes it home he tells his mom he was in Kamino when everything happened, and Inko starts crying real hard, and Izuku too, and everything is a mess)
After his Dad's defeat, he starts attacking Pros, mercilessly and ruthlessly, but only those who deserves it, those who he thinks have failed at doing their jobs of protecting people.
Tsukauchi is desperate to capture him, wanting to bring an end to the 'Heir of the Underground' as people, mainly villains, are calling him after AFO is brought down and the similarities between AFO and Reprise are pointed out. He knows that if he leaves him on the loose for too long, there's no turning back, Tsukauchi knows what's on the line for him and is afraid FOR Izuku, knows he can become a target later on, or he can take over his Dad's Empire and be worst.
He doesn't know is Izuku, and even if Bakugou is having a crisis over Reprise and everything going on around him (because of course is Deku, it's always been Deku) he can't go and tell them, he doesn't has proof, only memories from when he was a kid and a very obvious dislike of Midoriya Izuku.
So Bakugou buries Izuku and Reprise to the back of his mind and concentrates in his own shit, the internships and the provisional license and that jazz.
(I always saw a lot of hc about how everything changed for class 1A without Deku there. So I'm taking this too and a few others things. Can't remember where I saw them tbh but all credits to their rightful owners)
Not all of them, Class 1A that is, got their license, just a few lucky ones, but a great deal of them failed. They aren't that motivated nor are That strong. USJ changed them, showed them a truth they weren't expecting this early, and losing Iida just reminded them that.
Overhaul Arc it's the same, except that, in the middle of the battle against him, when Mirio was fighting Chisaki and protecting Eri, Reprise showed up and took Overhaul's quirk right after he shoot Mirio.
(Mirio, who had Permeability. Mirio, who had One For All. He loses both of his quirks.)
At this point, and with overhaul newly added to his collection with a few others, Izuku is mostly invincible. The chaotic vigilante he used to be becomes fierce, a force to be reckoned with, so when Tsukauchi hears about Reprise getting overhaul, he warns ALL of the Pros to be careful at encountering him.
The Hero Comission WARNS EVERY AGENCY that, in case of coming face to face with Reprise, they have to flee inmediately or suffer the consequences, which are losing their quirks and having to step down from being pros.
It becomes a really bad situation, with fear striking every Pro present, much more so after losing the Symbol of Peace, which leads to a vulnerability in those afraid of losing everything and leaving unprotected a few places, or outright giving up the title of Pro.
Everything comes down to the fateful meeting of Shigaraki and Izuku.
Shigaraki knows there's malice in Reprise, he knows he felt that pain too when All For One was captured, that's why he's going against Pros now, and he plans to use every ounce of that pain to bring him by his side.
Liability (Reprise) of Lorde was a huge inspiration tbh

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme
fill out & repost ♥  This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
Tumblr media
My muse is: canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK ( They’re missing out )
Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO / IDK ( It’s subjective )
Are they underrated? YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main story? YES / NO
Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO? ( This is... also subjective. )
How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL
How strictly do you follow canon?
As closely as possible, considering there’s not very much to work with in regards to his canon to begin with. There’s a lot of freedom in picking up any kind of minor canon character. I look mainly to expand on what little is present. I adore fleshing out even the smallest ideas so having something I can comfortably build on is great.
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.
Pica is loyal, beyond anything. Strong, well-built, and never wavering. Regardless of the situation, he is always on task, diligent to the last moment and perhaps longer. Devotion and collected functionality make a grand guardian. Always acts as a pillar; a collected foundation of a man centered around dedicated familial values. Being in contact with stone makes him nigh invincible, granting him not only the protective assimilation but the literal stature and appearance of a stone goliath given enough material. Strategic with respectable swordsmanship, constantly protective of what’s important. He’s nice on the eyes, quiet, and a good listener. There’s order and beauty laced within all that cataclysmic chaos just waiting to be found.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).
Distant, stoic, absolutely terrible with expression that isn’t hateful and violent. Pica is very strict, lacking a sense of humor. His voice is extremely disruptive. The smallest remarks set his short fuse alight and it burns on and on until there’s nothing left. That murderous intent settles for very few things, and getting him to open up is a long, grueling process. He’s self-conscious but in an overbearingly cocky way, in that pride often masks everything genuine. He thinks very highly of himself and looks down on other people constantly. He’s uncooperative, constantly wrapped up in solemn business, and heavily against indirect methods. Abrasiveness is a weapon and he uses it without remorse. Stubbornness and general unwillingness to speak with strangers make attempting to converse with him the equivalent of talking to a wall. Pica is impatience, wrath, and apathy tied together with coarse cobblestone.
What inspired you to rp your muse?
As odd as it sounds, I found certain parts of Pica relatable in very specific, personal ways. People never took me seriously when I was upset because I was so small ( sometimes they still don’t dskdsks- ). For awhile when I was younger my voice was really deep and hoarse due to adenoid issues. Speaking in general was hard, because breathing was hard. It made me sound very masculine, especially over any kind of voice-only system. Normally adenoids aren’t an issue at that point because they’re vestigial and tend to essentially be shrunk down to nothing. But something ( probably fighting off infections and never shrinking/bad allergies, nobody knows ) blew mine up and they were blocking 3/4ths of my airway for ages without anyone having any idea what was going on until it got bad enough to the point it was obvious something was wrong. I couldn’t have any stuffed animals in my room because it was legitimately dangerous and a lot of my non hypoallergenic stuff had plastic covers on it. Made me really sad. Eventually they were surgically removed, and it cleared up my breathing and in time my voice was relatively normal. Before then, nothing felt worse to me then than struggling to breathe trying to defend myself in tandem with all the emotional stress it brought on me.
I was always quiet and distant otherwise, and a lot of people thought I was just weird and unapproachable ( unless you wanted a laugh, anyway ). There were days before I made my small group of good friends I’d just spend sitting under the stairwell up against a wall eating lunch by myself. I’m probably one of the few people that listened to Pica talk for the first time and didn’t immediately burst into laughter. I didn’t completely click with him at that point, but watching that one little thing turn into a running gag constantly coming back to undermine everything else that was amazing about him really set my feelings in stone... pun completely intended. I’ve loved him ever since. That inspiration and adoration has only grown with time.
What keeps your inspiration going?
Quite a few things. Aside from the constant love pouring from my being, I love looking at highly detailed stonework. It’s beautiful. Scrolling through rolling mountain landscapes, listening to certain songs, daydreaming in between sentences. I never really lose inspiration for Pica. Something new hits me every day in the most mundane tasks. A lot of it does go unshared, but some of it is personal and other times I simply don’t have the energy or reason. Very well I could be brimming with inspiration for him all day and have nowhere really to put it without excess. Getting opportunities to do so really makes me smile, though. It’s amazing how much being invested in a character will keep your inspiration at an all time high even when you’re having a rough time. Sometimes all it takes is just an extra comment from someone else or an occurrence or some kind of image to put you right back on track. For me, seeing any kind of lovely stonework or abandoned, run down places really sets my inspiration for him in motion.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice? YES / NO ( I would hope so! )
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO ( I’m always thinking of new ones! )
Do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO ( It’s been awhile, though... )
Do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES!! / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO
Are you confident in your writing? YES / NO ( Generally speaking, I try to be! )
Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?
Actual criticism, yes. I don’t mind it. At the same time, however, I’m really just here to have a good time ─ as is everybody else. Growing and developing my writing is always a bonus when I’ve the experience here in an environment I’m comfortable with, but critique isn’t exactly something I go hunting for. I’m here to write the characters I love and adore and honestly, sometimes, it’s better to have the freedom to do things as you wish without the worry of receiving it, no matter how well-intended it may be. It’s all chill times and good vibes doing what we enjoy most.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?
Absolutely! I love randomly being sent things that keep me thinking with any character. I’m always looking for little intricacies and tidbits to really bring them to life. Sometimes it takes a bit for me to think of something appropriate but I always appreciate the brain candy when it comes to new details! It goes without saying that I’ll happily accept anything that gives reason to my constant, aimless musings related to Pica.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?
Yes and no? I always love hearing other ideas on why someone else’s headcanons differ from my own. For all I know it might be enough to change my mind or, at the very least, give me a different perspective on something I’ve never thought about before. I’m always curious about stuff when it relates to a character I love. As long as they’re not rude about it and we’ve talked to the point it’s not out of the blue, it’s okay. On the other hand, it doesn’t really matter if someone disagrees. We all have our own headcanons and it’s very easy to be respectful about them. Despite what has already been said, there’s a high chance I’m going to keep to my own headcanons as they are regardless, because I put a lot of thought and heart into them. Someone disagreeing with them at face value isn’t going to make me up and throw all that work in the trash just like that.
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?
That’s okay. There are plenty of different ways to interpret a character. People are allowed to like and dislike whatever portrayal they so choose, so long as they’re not bashing anyone outright. I would much prefer that be something that’s kept to oneself, however. It’s very easy to simply ignore something you don’t agree with, and it’s just as easy to be kind about things when expressing your own thoughts in comparison with theirs. Plus, there’s always making your own blog and writing whoever however you please! Someone out there is bound to enjoy whatever portrayal you prefer. ♥
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?
Not personal, certainly, unless it was somehow directed at me personally. It’s very understandable. There’s a lot of potential present for actual progressing development, but on the surface Pica is very dislike-able. It’s very clear his purpose was to act as a stepping stone for another major character’s development and there wasn’t much left beyond that. Of course it’s always a sad thing being hopelessly attached to a character like that but as an avid lover of what are often viewed as very minor, niche characters, it’s something I’m very much used to. Perhaps not intense hate in every case, per se, but underappreciated. It just so happens that Pica is... not exactly a good person, putting it kindly. But that’s just another reason I love him so much as a character.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?
Sure! Though chances are I’ve probably already noticed at that point and have been embarrassed about it/fixed it. I’ve probably made many over the years and also not realized it. Most of the time it’s something minor anyway, and a lot of people just naturally read it as it’s supposed to be read. So there’s no trouble!
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?
I’d certainly like to think so! I tend to be very patient and accommodating. I wholeheartedly stand beside the idea that RPing is meant to be fun and enjoyable and not something that causes more stress. People should take their time with things and set their own pace. Being comfortable is part of what makes RP the wonderful hobby that it is. Really that applies to any hobby, but there are many little things that can turn someone away from doing something they love at any given time. There’s nothing that would hurt me more than unintentionally making something someone enjoys a chore for them. I try my best to make sure everyone knows that I’m really just a chill little bun having a good time doting on characters I love. Pica might not be cordial, but I certainly try to be!
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

idk if this has been asked before, but anyway what type of girls would hanamiya, imayoshi, and haizaki take seriously? and i mean SERIOUSLY like, consider her as THE woman y'know? what kind of personality does she have, or what does she do to make them stay, etc.
(just a disclaimer: i honestly doubt any of the three would be find “the one” till they were at least in uni, and more far mature than they are in high school.)
Haizaki Shougo
Right, working off the canon, his favourite type of girl is an “erotic girl”. Consequently, if you’ll excuse the vulgarity of my words, I’m pretty sure his ideal woman would be someone he’d be able to engage in good sex with, someone with their own kinks, as well as someone willing to experiment with his kinks. Otherwise, even if the relationship was pretty sound, the likelihood of him cheating (just for the sex) would be pretty high, due to his high libido.
Moving on, almost ironically, the person that Haizaki would stay with is someone that’s not forcing him to stay. A clingy nature just encourages him to fight against it; he finds it cute for a hookup, but, if it goes on for too long, he gets fed up. After all, a key aspect of Haizaki is his need for independance. From this, we can also presume that Haizaki wouldn’t want an overly jealous s/o. Some jealousy - hot, shows they care. Too much jealousy - a turn off, especially as Haizaki’s never going to be completely subtle about his attraction to other girls.
Otherwise, Haizaki needs a strong s/o. His ideal woman, whether he realises it or not, is a woman who’ll be able to stand up against him when he’s being stupid, or unpleasant - someone that can call him out on his bullshit, and stop him from making mistakes he’ll later regret. Haizaki’s the kind of person to fight his own sadness/insecuries with anger; if his s/o is unable to work past his anger, then the relationship will never get anywhere. Of course, it’s perfectly understandable that someone may be scared by Haizaki’s shouts, and cursing, but he’s not dangerous. He just has no way to express his emotions otherwise. His ideal woman understands this, and can work with him. And, in time, he’ll be able to support his s/o, mentally, as well.
In conclusion, therefore, his ideal woman is someone that won’t villanise him.
Hanamiya Makoto
The canon says that Hanamiya’s ideal type is a stupid girl; I’ve discussed my opinion of that matter, in detail, here but, to simplify it, that kind of girl is not one he’d be able to stay in a long term relationship with. His ideal s/o doesn’t have to be the most brilliant person academically, but they do need to be someone with whom Hanamiya can have intelligent conversations. Without conversations like that, the two of them would just fade apart: there would be nothing to hold interest in one another. And the intelligence would also be key for
That said, there is an element of opposites attract here. Ideally, Hanamiya would be in a relationship with someone who can be pleasant to make up for his attitude, someone (dare I say it) like his mother. And, by this, I don’t mean someone overly optimistic, who forces their “sunshine views” down Hanamiya’s throat, but merely someone more optimistic/realistic than completely pessimistic. This ideal s/o is someone that, though they can accept his snarky comments about others (possibly make a few of their own), will also be friendly, will make mentions of how nice so-and-so looks today. The salty-sugar to his pepper, if you’ll excuse the poor analogy.
However, unlike Haizaki (someone whose ideal woman seems a set type to me), Hanamiya’s ideal woman is less of a strict set of boundaries. One thing we notice with Hanamiya, in comparison to Haizaki, is that he tends to get along with people better. He antagonises people, yes, but his teammates, despite their variety of personalities, all seem to get along with him. From this, we can infer that Hanamiya could find more than one type of person an ideal woman for him. Apart from the matter of intelligence, he could end up with several different personalities: extroverted or introverted, loving or more subtle with their affections, and so on. How they met each other would play a part in the relationship working too. But there are some little aspects that would be important for Hanamiya too: his s/o not trying to change him, his s/o getting along with his mother, and his s/o understanding/agreeing with his views of people/society.
Imayoshi Shouchi
KUROFES describes Imayoshi’s type of girl as a kikubari girl (someone respectful, ‘attentive of society’) which is a good place to start with our analysis of Imayoshi’s ideal girl. We can infer that his ideal s/o has to be mature, and this strikes me as being important for two reasons. Firstly, Imayoshi himself can seem quite mature; he’s good at calming down his teammates (see Wakamatsu and Sakurai), he’s polite, and even his motto “wisdom is to realise one’s own ignorance” creates the impression of maturity. Hence, his ideal s/o would be someone who can match this maturity - someone childish could grow irritating. But, beyond this, Imayoshi is childish; ultimately that’s what the hidden arrogance (the “horrible personality” Hanamiya describes) leads to. And so, his s/o’s maturity would be key in balancing out these more concealed parts of Imayoshi’s attitude.
Adding onto this, Imayoshi’s ideal woman (or man, quite frankly) is someone who understands society. That may sound vague, but allow me to explain. A key aspect of Imayoshi’s play is mind games; he’s intelligent, and he’s described as practically being able to ‘enter others’ heads’. Consequently, we can ascertain the idea that he’s got a good grasp on psychology, and his s/o would need to be able to understand people (society) too. This could very well serve as the relationship’s base: a conversation starter, an equal respect for one another, and allowing (to express this overly colloquially) for Imayoshi and his s/o to become a “power couple”, always a few steps of everyone else.
However, most importantly, this aspect of his ideal s/o’s would prevent them from falling for Imayoshi’s games. Imayoshi does enjoy mocking others, studying their psyche to find their weaknesses (allowing for teasing which, despite its subtle nature, can still be distressing); if his s/o ever allowed themselves to fall into his traps, he’d lose respect for them, and the relationship would be broken up. In contrast, Imayoshi’s ideal s/o would be someone that would identify his mind games, possibly end respond to his comments with retorts of his own. Relationships survive off the equality of the two partners, after all.
To summarise: his s/o has to be intelligent, aware (’kikubari’), and someone that thinks things through. His s/o is the eloquent young woman/man people aspire to be: someone cautious, but not overly so, and capable of holding their own.

MDZS fic ideas
Things I’d love to see in Mo Doa Zu Shi fanfiction. These are my notes for things I have told myself I am not allowed to write. I’ve read...so many fics for this fandom, like most of the archive, and I’m sad that I’m pretty much at the point of rereading/waiting for updates. These ideas have been swimming around in my head that I have no time to write, so PLEASE someone take them and gimme some new words to read, I beg you.  Of course, end goal should be wangxian in some way, because otherwise WHAT IS THE POINT, but I don’t have time to write these, so...here you go. Please let me know if you use them. I wanna read these, but I don’t have time to write them, so maybe someone else will want to.
*Time Travel AU in which WWX goes back and for some reason tells Madame Yu all the bullshit that’s gonna happen, so they team up and fix all the things. I just...really want Mama Yu to like WWX thanks. And dear god, LET JC BE HAPPY! I need so much more resolution on that front. Even the book did not satisfy me. I WANT MY BOYS TO GET ALONG! And I want Mama Yu to not be awful and abusive to WWX! I mean she had reasons for being salty but uh that is NOT good justification for the shit she pulled with WWX. Also, hell, let Jiang Fengmian get his core melted and have Madame Yu run the sect. WE NEED FEMALE REP.
*Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze live so WWX gets to grow up with his parents. He meets LWJ as a rogue cultivator or something idk. This would make a fun oneshot.
*LWJ’s mother lives! Honestly, I just want happy Lan-fam. Can I get that please? Just how much would it change the dynamic of the story if LWJ’s father led the sect properly and his mother wasn’t locked away in a goddamn building and actually got to spend more time with her kids? I am forever salty that we’ll never know why Mama Lan killed her hubby’s teacher or w/e. Somebody GIVE ME SOME REASONING.
*WWX gets taken in and claimed as heir by Wen Ruohan...and WWX doesn’t learn that their ways are wrong until he’s at least a teen (perhaps when sent to train at the Cloud Recesses?) and realizes how the other Sects really feel about them. Give him some convoluted morals that he has to unlearn. Make Wen Xu and Wen Chao hate him for being chosen over them. Change Wei Wuxian/Wei Ying into Wen Ying/Wen Wuxian and have it be a secret that he’s not actually a Wen. Have WWX actually not want the Wen Sect destroyed because despite how messed up its people are, not all of them are bad--mostly just those in power (it still baffles me that the other clans just DESTROYED an entire sect, like I know the Wens burned Lotus Pier but DAMN that’s cold!) Even some kind of variation where WWX influences Wen Ruohan and his children’s evil mindset would be really interesting. Otherwise, can you imagine WWX with Chenqing on the Wen side? Ouch. Also, this sticks WWX with Wen Ning and Wen Qing early on and I LOVE THEM, so there’s that.
*WWX doesn’t come back after his first death, and LWJ achieves immortality because he’s stubbornly still looking/waiting for WWX. Two centuries pass (we’re going to ignore any technological advancements and replace them with cultivation advancements or something) and LWJ ends up befriending a nice lady cultivator who falls for him, and even though he only considers her a friend, he agrees to marry her. They have 1 very stubborn gay daughter (only from consummation sex which brings up a boatload of other problems) who somehow stumbles across a reborn!WWX with all his memories--daughter is hella bitter that her father clearly does not return her mother’s affections and that he is apparently pining for someone who is so long dead that people don’t actually remember his name (ie - people remember Yiling Laozu but not that his name was Wei Wuxian). But without knowing who he is, the daughter ends up liking WWX until she finds out the truth about who he is and drama ensues. Can you tell I’ve wanted to write this one so badly? I mean I could just about draft an outline, but I HAVE TO FOCUS ON MY ORIGINAL NOVEL I’M SORRY.
*Time Travel AU in which Yanli alone gets a do-over with all the future knowledge and fixes everything just by being her amazing self. I feel like she’d be a really keen manipulator.
*The story from NHS’s pov. I wanna read all his manipulations and him putting them into place. Is there anything like this out there? Because oh my GOD I wanna know what’s going through his head sometimes. I really, really do!
*Jiang Cheng/Wen Ning - AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS WOULD BE AN ENTERTAINING SHIP? Just...I sort of tolerate the JC/LXC and JC/NHS pairings because they’re commonly used, but honestly, I’m not crazy about either one. However, WN is such a sweetheart and JC is such a hothead and there is so much opportunity for drama there. Also, in some cases depending on timeline...WN is, yunno, a corpse--a fixable thing if you weave in WWX’s involvement and make him and JC get along again. GIVE ME THAT. Like I don’t read much other than wangxian focused fic, but I would read the hell out of this (also you could easily balance those two pairings).
*Somewhere in the waiting gap, LWJ is given three tasks by a deity of some sort who promises to bring WWX back if he completes him...but these tasks have to UTTERLY go against LWJ’s character and completely destroy his reputation as Hanguang Jun. Honestly, this could go cracky or painfully dark.
*No idea how, but Mo Xuanyu manages to bring WWX back fully in-tact and they both get to live. WWX of course takes MXY under his wing, and together they avoid the notice of even LWJ for a lot longer than WWX did in canon. I would love to see them figuring out the whole JGY plot in the background and LWJ tailing them around just a little too late to the party each time a major event goes down until finding out in some kind of dramatic finale that WWX has been back for a while. I have yet to see characterization for MXY that I really like. Most people make him either ridiculously whiny or so much like WWX that they may as well be the same character. :/ So, uh, maybe a different approach? I mean MXY is allowed some complaints, he’s had a rough time of things, but come ON.
*Lan Wanji never finds Wen Yuan and poor widdle Shizui manages to survive into adolescence living on his own in the burial mounds...accompanied by the fragmented ghost of his Xian-gege who very slowly is pieced back together by A-Yuan, who has sort of naturally started using demonic cultivation and somehow develops a heroic reputation as a rogue cultivator. Why? Because he’s Shizui, and Shizui is SO PURE OK? Maybe he has a fascination with LWJ, even though his memories of Rich Gege are kind of fuzzy. Shizui matchmakes his two ridiculous dads. Oh and inquiry doesn’t work on WWX cuz his soul is shrouded by the resentful energy in the burial mounds.
*The Wen clan burns the Cloud Recesses to the ground around the same time WWX has lost his parents, but LWJ somehow escapes. Reportedly, everyone in GusuLan is now dead, but he somehow ends up in the same town as WWX. They meet and bond immediately. Maybe LWJ saves WWX from the dogs. Anyway, JFM never finds WWX, so he and LWJ grow up together in poverty, eventually teaching themselves cultivation and night hunting, until their fame grows so much that they catch the attention of the Wen clan (or something). Have them ridiculously dedicated to each other, already in love and thinking of themselves as cultivation partners. I want their bond to straight-up shock people. LET THEM BE SHAMELESS. LWJ would have to have a fake name and wear something other than white.
*LWJ and WWX figure out their relationship stuff a lot sooner and end up building a proper sect in the burial mounds. I want LWJ wearing WWX’s colors. I want demonic cultivation to work hand-in-hand with regular cultivation. I want them to find artifacts or books or something in the burial mounds indicating a civilization used to be there that also studied demonic cultivation, or maybe they actually find some long forgotten god/dess of demonic cultivation who empowers them in exchange for worship.
*LWJ was not whipped for protecting WWX, he was imprisoned for life, not in GusuLan, but in some godforsaken prison that is so intense no one in the clans really likes to talk about it. I want him flung into some hellprison with ghosts and demons, where only his cultivation keeps him alive (and relatively sane) for that decade-ish gap until WWX’s fragmented ghost somehow finds him. Of course, WWX realizes LWJ loves him, which triggers in WWX a want to finally come back to life. He finds a way back to the living world and rains hell upon the people who decided it was a good idea to imprison LWJ until someone finally tells him how to get to the prison. He frees LWJ and helps him recover while all the JGY stuff is going on the background. Wangxian returns to the cultivation world in time to stop that catastrophe. (Before LWJ is imprisoned, he makes LXC promise to take care of A-Yuan of course!)
*WWX gets flung into the burial mounds and embraces demonic cultivation, but realizes he has somehow bound himself to the awful place and can’t leave. Over time, he lures stragglers and refugees to the mounds, where he welcomes them to stay and live safely. Outside, the Sunshot Campaign is a failure and what remains of the sects bow in subservience to the Wen clan. Inflicted with some permanent disabilities from the war and left to run GusuLan now that his brother and uncle are dead (sorry Xichen), Lan Wanji never gets the chance to go looking for WWX. Thirteen years pass and WWX has absorbed so much resentful energy from the burial mounds that he is practically a part of it. Finally, he is able to leave, but the world he finds is much different from the one he remembers, and his health fades fast when he is outside of the mounds. Somehow, WWX figures out that demonic cultivation doesn’t damage the body/soul/temperament if somehow counterbalanced properly with a golden core--and since he doesn’t have one, he and LWJ do a soulbond thing so that their cores (WWX: demonic and LWJ: golden) balance each other. Then he can take on the Wens.
I could literally whip out ideas nonstop, but these are the big ones that have been just...beating on the walls of skull trying to get out. Of course, they don’t always account for everything, so more thought is needed. Anyway, if you write any of these, please let me know so I can read them, and of course a shoutout would be nice. c: My username on ao3 is the same as here. Enjoy~!
