Hi! Do you have any headcanons about Iroh's wife? Do you think they would've been a love match or strictly arranged? When do you think she died and how do you think Iroh/Lu Ten dealt with it?

I don't put a lot of thought into her, tbh. I have decided that he did love her, though, and she probably died in childbirth or due to complications shortly after (hence only one child). I think him loving her and being such a romantic is why he, as the crown prince, didn't try to remarry after she died.

Although, now that I think of it, there's a good story to tell in him not being in love with his wife, and that being the reason he's all in on romance. Like maybe he loved his son so much, he wished that he could have been in love with Lu Ten's mother, and that is the reason he's such a romantic. But honestly, I do think he was deeply in love with his wife.
