Big fckn redesigns here. Well mostly Charlie but Vaggie somewhat too 🥰🥰

Blue fits Charlie soooo much and I cease to see that many redesigns with this color. I still want red to be used in most of their designs because well. They are in hell, but not too present so to make way for other unique colors. Charlie has several physical traits from her parents but also she has some details in her clothes that match with them. When I uhh, introduce their designs you'll see lmao. I also tried to make her have a more roundish design, I jst LOVE those typ of designs omg. I just want the characters with not too many sharp corners pls Viv bro... 😔 oh yeah she's mixed cuz her mom's are darker in their redesigns. Alot of their genetics went down to Charlie so she doesn't look like an exact copy of Lucifer, I kind of hate that trend with hh and hb characters, like did the moxxies dad give birth to him bro 😭 also I kept her bow because it looks so cute and silly on her it just fits, I wish they made it bigger in her show design because it would fit her silliness so much. She has a cape with stars because morningSTAR smh why didnt they do something fun with that, missed potential but whatevs yknow I still love og designs no matter what anyone sayss. Did you know I love Charlie, I could ramble for days. I think I love Charlie guys. Maybe jst a hunch idk... also... s-snake fangs.. jeepers anddd..... snake tongue.... shiver me timberz

The wife ever. I had animation in mind more when I designed her, not like in a "How easy or hard would this be to animate" way. But I like to imagine when she's shocked her hair kind of fluffs out plus her actual fluff, when she's mad her bow turns into kind of horns and then her jacket expands like wings. Gave her a more hotel like outfit, she likes to work for fun (ew). Her socks are socks but she has some fluff under them she just tries to cover it up because she hates herself 🤪 (she doesn't hate her bigger body she actually feels much more comfortable chubby than when she was skinny with Adam. She was burdened with the weight of Adam's image of women... In this sorta rewrite she gained weight when she goes to the hotel because she's more happy. I'm dying I love chub Vaggie so much guys please) headcanon: she kind of likes fashion, it's like a fun hobby of hers to stitch together clothing and go out and buy clothes she'll never wear. She taught Charlie how to stitch and she SUCKS so you can jst see it on Charlie's pants.

Second outfits! Charlie's hotel uniform for. Well. Hotel stuff. She usually only wears it when new people come to the hotel, which.... isn't often, if at all. She still likes to keep it just in case. Also she goes really cartoonish when it happens, she does the looney tunes run and changes into her clothes in like 2 seconds. Can you see my vision? 😭😭

Vaggie's is in her armor. She has several pairs of armor lying around in the hotel in completely hidden spots. It's kind of surprising uhh. Yeah she wears it alot more than Charlie wears her alt uniform but still rare to find her in it. I don't get the whole thing with the exterminators and them not being able to fight according to Carmilla. Which is kinda stupid, I'm not gonna lie. So, instead of that, Vaggie has just let her guard down and has gotten much more comfortable in her surroundings so she feels like she doesn't need to fight anymore, she's just gotten rusty 's what I'm sayin. I have no idea how to draw armor. You can tell...

uhhh...........art progress update that i can’t help to make (even tho my art still look like shit but whatevs lol my attention seeking nature does take over every once a while) 

lil drawing of maglor that i did back in july and only recently made minor changes to.....and by recently i mean 2 days ago. i seriously considered posting it in a rebloggable format but honestly it was too garbage to be posted in public tags, the painting was never very salvageable from the get go. i’d redo it with an attempt at a better and more lively/less cartoonish line art and more complex/less cel-shaded looking shadings, but im not feeling the idea behind the painting anymore. 

and then some concept art of my character from my godforsaken animation short film (that i wasn’t sure if i was capable of making for the longest time...still not entirely sure even now) aka a component of my MRP/thesis. supposed to be the same person’s face from different angle but im obviously struggling with the consistency here, which will be a big problem. but, i feel like i know the very basics by now and i just need to finish the paper before Getting Back At It^tm

6. Longest a drawing has taken to finish?

This year it was probably a drawing I did for my closest friend. Originally it began as a drawing of her and Yoosung but then after like 3 hours of trying to figure out Yoosung physics I gave up on him lol. So it ended up as an attempt at a more cartoonish, but also somewhat painterly style portrait of my friend.

Tbf I've no clue how long it took in total in terms of hours, but I think it had the longest video time out of any of my other drawings lol

All I know is I made that file in January and the last time I touched it was September,, but dw!! I didn't work on that singular drawing for 9 months straight lmaooo

Once again, I'm not sure how many hours it would have taken as I work without looking at time, but this drawing would have probably taken me around 4-5 days, working for a few hours each? :p that's just a rough estimate lolol

20. What do you think you've improved on the most over the past year?

Probably on slowing down a bit when I draw. I still have a long way to go, but I always seem to speedrun all the processes?? And for what reason?? lol. No, but I think I've made progress on this because I finally identified it as a problem that I have, so I was able to work on it ^^

Sad news;; I don't have a consistent art style 😔 BUT there are some consistenties, which I can consider for this lolol.

Okay so I had the craziest dream that I just woke up from imma copy paste it here as I wrote to a friend on disc horse

Okay I just had the craziest dream....

Like... Holy shit I'm trying to just.... Capture it all all feelings and wow

I think I was in Stockholm but it still felt like home, and all of a sudden looking up at the sky there's like... We have an asteroid belt? Everyone's just???? It's a clear blue day and there's so many big boulders in the sky :O it ws so pretty

Only thing is... They start getting closer hahaha super slowly

So basically I had an end of the world nightmare/cool dream

It was all about finding a shelter, while still roaming around seeing those big ass stones in the sky closing in and it was like???? Idk how big they'll be closing in? Also why hadn't anyone gone out with a warning about this long before?

I talk to two girls who I noticed the sky fenomen with and one of them is like "I know a guy who has a bomb shelter let's go ask him" and I was like aight I'm with u! (my last apartment complex actually had one Idk if this one does 😅 so in my dream I didn't know of anything safe and it was a relief a stranger was willing to help)

So she leads me maybe... Idk it's not far more like tricky to get there, the distance to the shelter varies in my dream it feels like it's around the corner but it's maybe a 20-30min walk

So this farmer guy is all "oh yeah we've seen that too, if u buy something of my produce I'll let u in on my shelter" and there's a lot of ppl around, that has taken his deal and that are gonna take it, but there's no hurry it's a feeling of everyone will fit I'm just a bit panic mode because I don't have any of my belongings on me hahaha

I buy two super big paprikas and they were so fucking yummy,, he was so proud of them and it was so understandable

A lady was making usual banter after a while like "oh I'm never able to make mine taste anything when I grow them at home" and im like ha ha okay

Again I look up into the sky and the asteroid belt is way closer now

Like those stones are HUGE and they're falling down in a like... Slowmotion feel but u know in space it's FAST

so me and the girl is like how long til they hit? And farmer is like "Idk but most likely 1.5h" and then someone from the shelter shouts for a mirror and I'm like "I have one I can bring" and he doesn't mind, like that guy is all super chill but if I can keep the ppl in the shelter calm why not

So i call my dad (it turns into a family heavy dream at this point) and tell them about the shelter, idk why but he shouts at me angrily, and is like "I have my bag at your place u have to bring it!!!!" and I was like... Ok? Sure? I just have to try and put everything I need in a bag first and time is running out and he's like "just being it to the shelter" - like I have to carry two heavy bags 30min trip to my place, do everything I can in a hurry, get back 30min with everything - before they close the shelter

I was sweating Lmao all I could think of was my pad, I was like I need it, I can draw on it it'll calm my nerves when being in a dark bunker lol

So omw home (which now is omw to my parents house, probably because I was at a farm so my head was like oh country side) all of a sudden it gets harder and harder to move forward and some girls out playing in their yard is like "it's the magnetism and gravity from the asteroids, they're starting to mess with us" it was like moving through water and I was running out of time :/

Still it was like a clear sunny day, so everything was peaceful in that sense and again the asteroid belt was so visible

What I still tried to figure out was like... Ok... This belt is gonna cut down on earth like a whip, am I really so unlucky I'm in the hit zone or is it gonna miss me and were all just gonna sit infront of the TV and be like "holy shit that's happening in other parts of the world rn? Scary!!" orrr is it actually gonna hit me full force on and do I really need to get to the shelter for my own life

While at home (now I kinda lived in a 2ft square place with a bunkbed Idk but yeah messy dream) I kinda gave up

Another dream started in the middle of it kinda like a cartoonish thing, and it felt like I woke up from that back to the end of the world scenario so... Inception?

And I was a guy at this point 🤔I think it was the apartment as soon as I got out of it I was myself again hahah

But it took me a while to get out of it :/ I was depressed, I had no motivation, the earth was going to hell, I had fallen asleep instead of packing.... Yeah I was like... Apathy panicing

So somehow I still got myself together, I still don't know how or why I know it involved my family but I don't know how if they were just "were at the shelter" and I was like "oh right shelter" Hahah could have been that simple

Anyhow it was... Like... No chance of me making it by running back :) so my kind dream world dreamt up a helicopter for me

I saw someone else had landed one too on the farm and the farmer just closed the door to the shelter from the outside so I was hiiii wait for meeee

And he was calm as ever and just, Ofc there's room for u (: head on in

He closed the door behind me

It was a super big place, u know those nuclear war scare bases from like was it 70ties? 60ties? Whole ass house down here

Still I was scared because the shelter wasn't a bunker, it was above ground, all we could hope for was the walls being strong enough to take on asteroids

In the beginning there were lots of ppl, when the real moment grew closer it was just me and my family in that space

Idk what happened with the rest

The farmer never got inside Idk what happened to him

But there was this big panorama window, which again made me nervous like how much it could take, but it was also like... Ok... Live right here and now what is gonna happen

And then the first asteroid hit, and it smashed the car out front and everyone was kinda nervously joking like "hate to be that guy" but also it was a ok... It has started...

Are we in the middle of it, how many more, was that it? Did it all hit at once or were they in different distances?

And then is kinda starts raining boulders

Like these things are all from x5 to x20 my own size but I'd have nothing on their weight lol

Whole ground starts shaking like the room breaks free because it kinda shoots up from the force of asteroids hitting the ground, room starts to move and were in for a ride that we all can watch from that window... It was surreal

I know one of the smaller asteroids bouncing off a big one and hitting the window and it left a good dent so we were like "okay and that was a baby one" so we all knew if a big one hit we'd probably be smashed like the car

Nothing around us was looking the same anymore, it was just explosion after explosion and since we didn't have a view of the sky (we were sliding downwards the mountain side towards the lake so we were kinda more facing down than seeing the sky) so we had no way of knowing if it was over or not

If any boulders were chasing us or not, waiting to crush us loll

Then we got to a halt and the first second we did mom opened the door and was like "tahats it?" and I was like???? It might not be??? Close the door??? For all our sake???

And she was just like naaah who cares, as usual it's about what she wants and she knows best uwu

So I ditched them LMAO

I got out of the shelter, found some girl that had survived, she was all happy and giddy because scientists would have so much new data to work with in the future, and we were both like wow that happened

Idk if that was it or if there were more asteroids coming, anyway it didn't feel scary anymore and I woke up :O

Part I: Remember Fondly When 4th Meals Were a Thing and Breakfast at Night Reigned Supreme

The Setup: It started, as much does, with a tweet. That tweet was followed, as many are, by regret. Fortunately, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson is a generous sort.

Robinson’s glorious but short-lived vigilante dramedy Sweet/Vicious was always on the list of candidates for an all-hands Reaction -- Miri started watching a day or two after Kris did, back in the fall, so Liz and Marchae added it to their (lengthy) to-watch lists -- but we didn’t put a timetable on it until our loyal reader @crazyhannibalthedaisiesslayer suggested it.

In this post (and its continuation, on Friday), we cover the first three episodes: “The Blueprint,” “The Writing’s on the Wall,” and “Sucker,” and many thoughts and feelings about campus sexual violence and related topics.

LIZ: First thing: I only had time to watch the first 3 episodes, although I wish I’d been able to see more!

LIZ: I am IN LOVE. I thought episode one was amazing and I am pretty much hooked. I am here for the message and the premise and i think every college campus needs these 2 ladies!

MARCHAE: however the characters are 100% engaging and you want them to win so hard...

I called my mom after episode one and was like should i feel bad for wanting to see the guys get beat up

LIZ: The way they show the victims of sexual assault and discuss their stories is just so real even though the show suspends our disbelief in other ways so much

MIRI:  Marchae, I don’t think you should feel bad

How do you feel about how stylized it is? I love it, but I feel like it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea

LIZ:  Rapists who are getting away with it 100% and ruining their victims lives? no I would not feel bad

KRIS: When I first saw trailers for it (while my old roommates watched MTV reality shows) I was like oh, man, I don’t know, this seems like it might be trashy and exploitative

MARCHAE:  I do agree Lizzie... it’s weird because my brain wants this to be a straight drama

yet i am oddly satisfied with the moments of comedic relief

LIZ: I didn’t think the stylization was OVER THE TOP

MIRI: Yeah, it’s a hard show to sell but SO GOOD

MIRI: UM that’s horrible and fuck them

LIZ: right, but that kind of mentality and characterization of college aged women who are friends with other women in the form of a sorority is so widespread

MIRI: The pilot honestly does SO much to characterize Jules, Ophelia, and Harris so quickly

KRIS: I do really like how they initially lean into the less generous expectations about sororities and then flesh out I think all of those characters in great ways

Mackenzie was a sleeper favorite for me

LIZ: this gives them facets.. like fuck what you thought about me and also.. I don’t have to not like to do my makeup or sometimes dress up for me to be a smart or valid female.

MIRI: I feel like Kennedy takes a little longer, but not in a bad way

LIZ: i don’t know many shows that give girls that kind of credit.. very legally blonde of this show..except Elle Woods was the exception there

MARCHAE: They have to save Kennedy (I say this not Having seen more than 4 epi)

have such amazing looks and their hair is bouncy like they are comic book drawings, but their makeup isn’t like that (bc that would be fucking bizarre) and I love how the fresh rosy-cheeked and bright eyed look of Jules is enhanced with her makeup and Ophelia’s brows and eye makeup are dark and defined/ grungy at times, but she is also kind of sweet because they don’t cake her up or give her a heavy lip.. idk if that makes sense to anyone else

and then they’re important because of the ninja outfits

MIRI: That all makes sense to me and I would never have thought of it at all

KRIS: it is right on the edge of my comprehension

MIRI: Sidebar: SUPER excited for you to see more Orphan Black and discuss that makeup

LIZ: but I am pleased with the fine line between real world and cartoonish that the MUA on this show kind of stride beautifully to give them unique looks that foil one another and bring out their strengths and sometimes their faults

MIRI: I never really notice Ophelia’s wardrobe that much, but the props they have for her are iconic and say so much

MARCHAE: I think it does... the show feels VERY comicbook-esq like I mentioned it reminds me very much in aesthetics to deadly class and there is another comic that focuses on a high school that I’m blanking on

LIZ: was this ever a graphic novel or comic book?

MARCHAE: but you get a lot in terms of wardrobe via colors that they use for these characters... Ophelia is almost always in darks, Jules in pinks and pastels

I quick checked and didn’t see it

KRIS: it was original to Jenn Kaytin Robinson

I mean she did a shit ton of research, and the producers watched The Hunting Ground and stuff

LIZ: nice..and yes I agree with the colors

MARCHAE: But these choices are interesting because they are almost opposite to the characters we meet in the show

LIZ: and the fact that Jules keeps her identity even as a vigilante with her pink backpack

MARCHAE: so Jules we meet as the original vigilante and she’s the one in the brightest colors ALWAYS in the show

LIZ: and then Ophelia has that car!

MARCHAE: that backpack is definitely our hint

MIRI: Because she’s trying SO hard to still be that girl

KRIS: Oh that’s so interesting. Jules is super dark and “damaged” and Ophelia’s ultimately a sweetheart.

MARCHAE: and Ophelia is always in darks

LIZ: right!?

MARCHAE: **taps nose at kris**

MIRI: I like that even when they put Jules in the Spitters are Quitters shirt, it’s light colored

MARCHAE: so its totally the opposite of what we see

in terms of how they are portrayed in their “normal life”

LIZ: I find Ophelia to be much more innocent.. not because of being sexually assaulted, but because she is kind of playing catch up and barfs when she kills a guy and Jules obviously took this mission upon herself to become a kick ass fighter and to start doing something

MIRI: Yeah, Ophelia thinks of herself as So Hardcore but is basically a sweet 19 yr old with some abandonment issues

LIZ: they are all different and some are even charming (most are) and they have different personalities and hobbies.. like Nate is acting like a really good boyfriend to Kennedy so if we didn’t know what he’s capable of, we’d forgive his jerk reaction to her missing his football thing bc of his super sweet apology

MIRI: Well, it’s Darlington University, right?

KRIS: Well A) that doesn’t actually strike me as unrealistic but B) I got the sense of a “backlog” of assaults -- they’re using that wall, which was started who knows how long ago

MIRI: So it’s at least big enough to have masters programs

KRIS: not responding to like the student weekly or something

LIZ: i mean i know so many people in so many schools (large, small, medium and very small) who all have sexual assault stories

MIRI: So when we got this question I was like “huh, are people seeing that?

MARCHAE: but we also know that Ophelia doesn’t have friends

MIRI: But upon rewatch it’s pretty solidly set up

MARCHAE: so before the question i suspected that she was just kind of enjoying her new friendship with this person

LIZ: like he was being racially profiled.. but he also had the one good thing he was looking forward to smashed on the ground

LIZ: yeah just kind of being like “sorry, but this is kind of what we do, i won’t stop it”

MIRI: I’m glad that they played it very seriously

LIZ: just a girl standing in front of  a boy.. asking for her job back

KRIS: Yes her bad-friend-ness is great

Also she’s just hilarious and brilliant and I love her and Harris’s friendship so much

LIZ: her mom was so rude to her on the phone it made me sad especially because Jules doesn’t have a mom.. and I know those were really briefly introduced to me, but I’m sure those are important issues

On the subject of friendship, there are a ton of examples of girls being very affirmational to each other that really interest me

LIZ: I also love that Harris is.. presumably straight and is not afraid to love RBG or Notting Hill

KRIS: I’m so jealous you’re experiencing this show for the first time

MIRI: Because sometimes they’re played for laughs

MIRI: And so what I do with my friends

LIZ: yeah kennedy suggesting that shit to ophelia was HILARIOUS

MIRI: kennedy is indeed the most

MARCHAE: I am so CURIOUS about what happens when Jules tells her

KRIS: That shot where I assume Fiona and Gabby are on a dolly when they enter Vinylton high on shrooms is perfect

MIRI: So I love that there’s drunk girl in the bathroom type compliments and Woke Freshman type compliments AND really genuine support for each other

KRIS: sorry I was just slow there

LIZ: i think that kennedy will eventually (i mean who knows since it is cancelled) be an ally and join the cause or at least be supportive in a protective way
