I like the spoon theory, but I’ve started to call it my spell slots instead, like I’m a d&d character
Depending on your class, you only get a few for each level you gain. And when you use them, you need to short rest or long rest to get them back. Maybe you had a short rest and didn’t get all of them back. Maybe you had a prophetic dream during your long rest and the dm says it’s more like a short rest cause that’s stressful af.

what if I told you there was some dumba* butterfly neighbor variant out there who's homebase is a cold snowy forest like aren't butterflies not able to handle that much cold?
“Is it dangerous to them? Why are you asking me? It’s true that butterflies can die from the cold, but I’m sure the neighbour has some way of keeping themself warm. Other than that, overwintering a something butterflies typically do… over winter. Majority of them do so larval stage, then to pupae, and eggs and adults. Some can even do so in multiple stages. Those who do overwinter in the adult stage, they build up their fat reserves, eating as much as they could before they hide away in cracks and holes of trees or rocks or under fallen leaves. They then re-emerge to eat sap and well… poop before the flowers produce their nectar.”
“Are they alright?”

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.
Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.
It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?
Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
