ao3 author: so they have to take part in this ancient pagan ritual. merlin is wearing bottoms made of fur and a pair of ram's horns. arthur chases him as he runs away and tackles him to the groun—
me: horns?
ao3 author: part of the ritual
me: of course
ao3 author: he tackles him to the ground. they are both drugged out of their minds, btw
me: yeah, go on

i’m sorry but i refuse to believe that an american wizarding school would be called ilvermorny that is such a painfully british-sounding name. idk if it’s just me but i don’t think it works well with an american accent either like it doesn’t roll off the tongue right. we speak too flatly for a word like ilvermorny to sound natural. even if it was initially called ilvermorny someone would have changed that name somewhere along the line okay trust me.

Saw two posts recently and I disagreed with them for the same reason and that is, y’all better not be falling into the pit of dissing things bc they’re not “sophisticated” enough for you or something.
Like someone complaining about cutesy wutesy terms or like stupid fanfic writing. Some people be saying stuff like ‘no! You have to like real books! Only use real words to describe yourself!’ Who are you? The cringe police?
Actually the colloquialisation of language is kinda a complicated topic. Yeah we shouldn’t dumb down words and stuff when it comes to discussing serious things and we shouldn’t be calling anyone else things that they don’t want to be called. But if someone is using casual language to refer to themselves and they’re someone who can ‘reclaim’ (for lack of a better term) that language, then I don’t think it’s hurting anyone. Sometimes we need to use serious language and sometimes we don’t.
And let’s not make fun of hashtag weird fanfic or fandom (as long as it doesn’t actually promote harmful views or cause harm).
There’s obviously exceptions to both these points but my general rule is, let’s not attack things for the sake of ‘it’s weird’ or ‘different’. Being judgemental and shaming people to conform to arbitrary standards is the talking point of literally every single hate crimer. That mindset is used by ableists, racists, sexists, queerphobes etc etc. Lets not forget that.

Also. Unrelated. To my previous post.
I've been thinking a lot about the past stuff Kyoko doesn't know about because here's the thing - even if she doesn't know, Junko should - and trying to find the root of this whole knight thing and, uh.
Yeah, at least in backstory terms, this is probably definitely a past ship. Just in terms of this makes sense from what I'm gathering, this is the general scenario I'm seeing.
But it doesn't necessarily need to be that way?
(And I still don't know if Junko was even remotely being legit or if she was just...being Junko. Because like. Matsuda was still very much a thing. I'm definitely already implying that Mikan was a thing. And that's a really quick cycle from one to the other to a third there, especially if Mikan should have been simultaneous to probably both to some extent (and if I remember correctly, DR3 makes that SUPER abusive on Junko's end, and actually coming out of everything with Matsuda, I could see how she ended up there, but that's another theory to think about after I've actually seen DR3). Like there's some layers specifically just to the Junko side of this that I. still want to think through.)

It's because he's super popular with Sonic.exe fans. If I had to guess why, I'd say it's since he's basically just Sonic possessed by an evil being, which is also what a lot of Sonic.exe iterations are
he was already popular before that big sonic.exe resurgence though so that can't be the full reason i dont think? like i was already seeing the name misconception and stc super sonic showing up in a lot of fan content years before this stuff happened. hes just more well known among people who arent actually sonic fans now
