I think the etiquette of ask blogs is a forgotten art. what I'm saying is (imo) it's not that people don't want to play, it is they don't know HOW, and more importantly they don't understand that the game exists to begin with. obviously you do not have to teach people the rules because your time and energy is finite but idk. it feels like from some of your OOC responses that you assume people know the rules and are playing badly, but I genuinely think people (me) just don't know what you are wanting them (us) to do. and also they (i) don't know how to tell if they (i) are playing the game correctly.

An example I am genuinely confused about is, is inciting a "shut up" answer a signal that the game is being played correctly, because we are inciting a reaction from the character? or is a "shut up" answer a signal that we are playing wrong and need to do something different? I'm sorry. I really love your art and seeing the story unfold but I'm confused and I want to play and I don't understand how.

a "shut up" reaction will hopefully show whether or not it's a closed path of exploration: if you have gideon sweating, going "pshhh its nothinggg" it means there is something worth exploring. if you have harrow slamming the door in your face, that is an advance that wont work on her

It might also be DIFFICULT TO ANSWER because a broad question could include MULTIPLE ANSWERS - asking "do you guys go out" could not be answered SUSTAINABLY, because i cannot draw all the places they visit

This question is SICK AS FUCK because not only do you learn something SUBSTANTIAL about the characters, you have stumbled upon A NEW PLOT BRANCH, one that actively deepens character connections and their past within the world. It specifically remarks upon a MEMORY* rather than AN OPINION and will typically be LONGER.

Another good option is to PROMPT something following this:

ANON: CAMILLA, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY TAKING HARROW OUT TO DO [REDACTED] THAT SHE LIKES BEFORE XYZ?

and this can then spiral onward…

It's not that this topic can never be spoken about, it's about WHEN you asked it and HOW you said it, or even WHO you asked.

Some topics, like the nature of HARROW AND GIDEON'S UPBRINGING are too recent for them to talk about, it has only been TWO YEARS since they left and there are SPECIFICS about the situation that the AUDIENCE hasn't discovered yet. There are things like GIDEON'S PARENTS that she CANNOT answer because she DOESN'T KNOW and answering multiple asks with I DON'T KNOW becomes repetitive and dull for both the DM and PLAYER.

BUT! She can learn! Over time, when the time is appropriate and feels the most natural for STORY PROGESSION. Think of it like a BAD ENDING in a visual novel. You START OVER and ask a DIFFERENT QUESTION, or approach it from a DIFFERENT ANGLE. If Gideon reacts poorly to someone congratulating her leaving BAD CIRCUMSTANCES, consider talking to her about the FUTURE. Instead of trying to pry at Camilla to see if she had an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP with Pyrrha, try to ask about other things in that period of her life, like how they met or what caused her to move out.

FINALLY, if you'd like an ask to be answered out of character, your best bet would be to goto @notedchampagne and send it there. If you'd like an ask to be answered SINCERELY or you don't want SNARK, you can specify this in the ask, but know this blog may not be your thing.

everyone's joking about jean not knowing what boba is but being chill with the nonbinary character but like for real that reaction makes more sense than you realize

the ravens care about talent and yes obviously there's some clear homophobia going on there with Jean's experiences and Kevin's "better to be straight" attitude but truly at the end of the day the ravens don't give a fuck they just want you to ignore it and pretty much all personal things in favor of the game and of being the best. not to mention exy isn't a gendered sport. i've seen people talk/joke about it before how exy is excellent for trans athletes because who's gonna give a shit when it's not separated by gender in the first place. non binary person? no big deal. the ravens are isolated sure but they do still have to exist in public and go out for games and classes they're not completely fucking stupid. i really don't find it odd at all that Jean doesn't bat an eye at the Trojan's being a very queer team

Regarding the fucking boba though Jean has been on an intensely strict diet since the age of 14. It's 2006-2007 ish at the time the books are happening. The man doesn't even know how to cook and at the time I don't believe boba was extremely popular anyway even though it was definitely still a thing. This man on a diet that definitely qualifies as disordered eating if he hasn't somehow developed an eating disorder. Is it really all that surprising that 1) he doesn't know what boba is and 2) thinks it's gross once he does find out?

idk i get it the jokes are silly haha and whatever and it's truly not that serious but I also can't get it out of my head that with Jean's experiences it does genuinely make more sense that he's more chill about being around other queer people than he is with Laila's obsession with boba

Various Adam headcanons

A/N I'm not an Adam simp, I just have been thinking abt him since the last post I did.

A lot of these are just things I feel in vibes and are completely baseless haha.

Cw: SFW, angsty in parts, misogyny, slight reference to disordered eating, uhhh idk man it's mixed

He's very messy and his house is like a bombsite of unwashed dishes and laundry.

Think messy roommate horror stories: that's him, and he doesn't give a single damn about it. Thinks he shouldn't have to clean up his house because that's a 'chick thing'

He's naturally really warm and overheats a lot because of it. Due to this, he has his house cold so he isn't sweating his ass off at all times.

He's really good to sleep next to during cold weather, but is God awful during hot weather.

Will not stop bitching about it being too hot when he's slightly uncomfortable and laughs at people who are easily cold, calling them weak.

His favourite things to watch are shitty b grade movies - especially comedy ones.

Prides himself on knowing current lingo, memes, and jokes (and actually pulls off not sounding like an old person trying to be 'hip with the kids' and cringey)

Follow up: makes deez nuts and ligma jokes out of everything and finds it hilarious. Sera sent him out of a meeting for doing this to Emily one time.

He's the type of mf who is pretentious asf about beer being superior and believes any guy who likes sweeter drinks / doesn't like beer are pussies.

He secretly doesn't believe this in the slightest and actually hates beer, he'd never admit it though. He has a sweet tooth and actually really likes drinks like Baileys.

Constantly talking, even if it's just to himself.

He likes AC/DC a lot. Ironically, 'highway to hell' is one of his favourite songs of all time.

He always wears his mask because he feels more vulnerable without it.

If you're close with him, he'd likely feel more comfortable to take it off around you - would fight to keep it on at all times if he doesn't trust you or feel safe with you.

I headcanon he put on weight after getting to heaven because after he was kicked out of Eden he didn't have nearly as much food, so he began binging when he finally had it again. It kind of just stayed a comfort for him.

He's really insecure about his weight gain too. If you point it out he's gonna get really upset. (Like how Lucifer does in ep 8)

Follow up: he literally always has snacks and is an absolute bitch about sharing them. If he does share them with you, he expects you to be really grateful.

His masculinity is fragile as it gets.

Would physically wilt if you even slightly imply he's not masculine and then become extremely angry and try to prove he actually is.

The main reason he is misogynistic is due to his experience with Lilith.

Before Lilith ran away from him, I think that Adam actually had extremely high respect for women.

His whole purpose was to reproduce. Women do a hell of a lot more then men during the whole process of reproduction and dude worships pussy even now (he named his best soldier after it. Not after dick, vag)

I imagine that it was a much larger appreciation for women in general before Lilith screwed him over.

This soured into misogyny, though, after she ran away and likely grew much, much worse with Eve due to her actually being made from him.

Eve then proceeded to eat the apple given to her and resulted in them being kicked out of Eden, which made it even worse.

He's the definition of that one reddit incel who had bad experiences with a handful of women and now is an absolute misogynistic cunt lmao

Hella abandonment issues.

Also hella jealousy issues.

Doesn't matter if you're a friend or a partner, he's going to be grappling to be number one and the only one in your life.

He's not manipulative or slick about it even a little though, it's obvious as it gets. Will vy for your attention by being literally as obnoxious as possible constantly.

If you ever point it out, he'll deny it though and get very flustered.

He's the type of sleeper who moves around a lot and ends up upside down somehow. Also a sleep talker.

Is the type of mf who has the skill to transcribe songs into guitar simply by ear.

He never shuts up about it, so although it is actually a really incredible skill, you want to not praise it because of how annoying he is over it.

Follow up: can play most types of guitar.

One of those extremely annoying rock fans who scoff when you put on anything but rock.

Also acts like he knows more about rock than anybody.

If you put on country music around him, he will forcefully grab the aux from you to turn it off.

He knows he actually isn't very smart at all and is super insecure about it.

He's had it used against him time and time again by people like Lilith and overcompensates to deter this by acting like he is actually the smartest person at all times.

When someone treats him like he's stupid, especially about something he actually knows/is knowledgeable about, he's extremely defensive about it (like when Lute points out the shield to him in ep 8)

Would be the type to go "Mansplaining means 'man explaining things'" to you with complete lack of self-awareness.

I need to draw Sera looking absolutely horrified as he screams the lyrics to highway to hell so bad.

I get what ur saying about Keefe not wanting the council to exploit him and that having all those ppl go to him but I really think that’s the only good reason which is still a very good one bc it’s about what HE wants (but also think of terik who did it for a bit then stopped but occasionally does it for some people) tbh the only good reasons are Keefe just not wanting to and that’s fair. but honestly I’m talking about the use of the ability and how in the grand scheme and when Keefe is in a better mental place that it can be SOOOOOO useful and like when he’s past all this and is happy and healthy then I would say he should tell ppl about it even if he doesn’t open up to “readings”

with a ability training thing that was one of my main points (tho I did put it in the tags and those go away when u reblog 😒) but ability training is literally TORTURE. like they put these like 11 year old kids in burning hot rooms for hours hoping to trigger a froster… like that’s soooo unethical idk what the councils reasoning for that is. it’s literal child abuse and I’m not even kidding. its brushed off but omg wtf. and imagine going through all that only to discover you were talentless and all that was for nothing. like that would suck

Also I just think knowing ur ability from childhood and being able to train for it before u even manifested would be soooo helpful

but in the end of the day yeah, keefe just not wanting to is the biggest thing. and I might be remembering incorrectly bc I haven’t read the book in forever but I remember something about keefe thinking he accidentally triggered the triplets abilities which would be more problematic but idk if I’m remembering it wrong. but I do think like years after kotlc ends (or when ever he feels ready) keefe should defo start using his ability for good. like it doesn’t have to be everybody. it can just be kids of q talentless parent(s) to help their parents out yk bc if two telepaths have a kid then it’s obvi going to be a telepath u don’t need keefe to tell u that

also the main point of the pre-editted post was about how he doesn’t want the NEVERSEEN to know bc he thinks they might be able to use it against his friends. like how. literally how? what use is it going to do them.

He feels like every single action, just getting up, getting dressed, pouring a glass of water, getting something to eat, just anything takes much more effort than it should, than it used to. It’s sweet and soft, and it makes Buck’s stomach flutter even more, but at the same time it feels like everything is finally as it should be, like relief, like coming home after a long trip, like taking a breath of fresh air after being in a smoke-filled burning building. It feels familiar, like home, like they’ve been doing this forever, like maybe they’ve been in love through multiple lifetimes, always finding their way to each other. It’s a ridiculous thought, a little bit, that he knows Eddie would fondly roll his eyes at and tell him there’s no such thing as past lives or fate. Buck believes what he believes, though. He feels like he’s loved Eddie for an eternity, and he’ll love him for another one, or a hundred, or a thousand eternities, as long as the world keeps turning, and if there’s anything after that, then even longer. He’s never been more sure of anything in his life.

His thumb nestles into his cleft, and Tommy sees a flash of an endeared smile before Evan’s lips are on his, fingers not letting him go.

✨Okay, it’s theory time✨

As usual spoilers below👇👇👇

So this weeks episode is called “Into the Breach” and my first thought reading this was “okay so the boys are going INTO something? Raiding? Storming? Into Tantis?” But I had take a step back and rethink. Tantis is heavily guarded, going into the base stealthily is NOT a BREACH! A breach is an opening, it can be something that was once sealed, guarded, or fortified. A dam can be breached by nature, a fort or blockade can be breached by opposing forces. So the question is: What is being breached and why?

In the last episode Rampart says:

Nobody knows the coordinates to Tantiss. It was designed that way. But I might know how to get around that.

It’s interesting that Tantiss doesn’t have coordinates, I’d almost assume that maybe it wasn’t a planet… but that’s clearly wrong haha

Anyway… if Tantiss doesn’t have coordinates then there must be someway to get to it. I think it’s some Peter Pan goofy “second star to the right and straight on till morning” directions ya know what I mean. Like what has the empire done to make sure Tantis is hidden and can’t be found by anyone else?

I do find the use of “designed” interesting, as if Tantiss was built from nothing. Now this could just be referring to the base itself and not the planet. Cause the labs weren’t in those mountains from the start haha. But to be able to make a planet disappear into thin air, to be undiscovered is pretty hard to fathom.

Back to the “second star to the right” quote, what exactly is the middle point between everywhere else in the galaxy … and THIS planet. What is stopping people from randomly finding it, what has the empire put in place to make sure it never gets found? Whatever that middle point is, is what our boys are going to have to get through. I don’t know if that is necessarily the breach though. Anyway… I’m wondering if maybe there is a special machine that is able to light speed ships to Tantiss. For whatever reason, this planet has been hidden from maps for a while, I don’t know if this was palps doing during the republic but for a planet to just not have coordinates is ridiculous. ANYWAY!!! Let’s look at these two pictures from the trailer:

We find Hunter and crosshair inside a ship being little tics. For some reason they stuck to this ship and have detached from it. I’m thinking that with ramparts info, the batch are able to somehow leech onto this ship and GET to Tantis. (If this is true it kind of puts a nail into my theory that echo and the rebellion are going to show up in the finale but I actually have a theory on how to get that nail out. ) so somehow they are able to do this stealthily (but it’s obvious they get caught somehow) anyway this is their way into Tantis I’m sure of it. Now whether or not this is an enemy ship they are attached to is up to debate. For all we know the larger ship may belong to Rex and the rebellion 🤷‍♀️.

As to answer what’s being breached… Im just gunna take a guess and say that the breach is both about getting past the midway point and breaking into Tantis.

I’m just now realizing how much stuff that needs to happen within the next three episodes! I don’t know if we will see rampart again, we may just jump straight to the boys executing their breach plan idk. There’s that part in the trailer where someone says “abort the mission” and Hunter says “negative” and it’s clear that this is before their armor is all black so what?? Is??? Going?? On??????? I actually want to say the next three episodes would be 1 hour long… I could have sworn we saw episode length leaks where a lot of the episodes were 20-30 minutes long but I can no longer find that information anywhere! So if anyone has that info correct me cause I actually believe we might get three 1 hour long episodes, cause this is the list of what needs to be covered:

Omega, emerie and the other children

What’s in the red and black vault? (Will we ever see what’s in here or is there just an assumption that we all know it’s palps clones??? This is a kids show, I think they’d show it???)

CX clones. Will we see the end to the CX clone project? Or will that project be concluded in a possible future show with Rex and echo? And, of course, WHO is CX-2. ( If CX-2 is NOT tech then I think CX-2 is just a nameless reflection of crosshairs trauma/past that he needs to overcome but that’s for another day.)

And if CX-2 is tech then we gotta unload that a little bit haha

How will Hunter wrecker and crosshair get to Tantiss?

And after they get onto Tantiss how do they get into the base and get to omega

How do they defeat Hemlock? Cause it certainly looks like the cloning of palpatine fails from what we see in the sequel trilogy. Hemlock has gotta go.

And once they even get to omega what happens then? How do they escape?

What happens to emerie, the children, nala se, scorch and the other clones.

Will we ever see Phee and batcher and the people of pabu? (I actually think we will see them all at the end of finale)

If this is the end of the clone rebellion then will we ever see wolffe or Cody?

I’m sure this list can go on and on. But I think a lot of this info for the side characters can be answered with a very quick scene or mention which I don’t mind because this isn’t about them it’s about the bad batch, ( which doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get closure about them, we should, but it doesn’t have to be heavily shown ya know ) also some of these questions may be left unanswered because they’ll be answered in a later show, like a clone rebellion show with Rex (that is if this isn’t the defining event for Rex to leave the rebellion 😭 hopefully not)

NOW I have seen a LOT of people afraid that a lot of our questions won’t get answered and to that I just have to say… avatar the last airbender had a 4 part season finale (22 min each) that answered a lot of questions and we were all satisfied with it. Now I know we have three episodes left… but I highly suspect one of them is an hour long which is the equivalent of 2-3 episodes. So we really have like 4-5. I do think a lot of the finale will be on Tantiss but the last 5-10 minutes (just like avatar) is us seeing the gang all happy and living their lives away from the empire!!! Maybe even a time skip (that would actually torture me) where we see older omega and older bad batch. (If that’s true then I’d really like for the last moments for them to hear that the empire has fallen I’d actually cry)

I did come across a speculation that maybe the ending will be ambiguous. That as long as omega is alive to the empire she will always be hunted down. And I can see that playing out but really… if hemlock and nala se die… then who can ever pick up their research??? If hemlock is thrown into the bucket after a huge failure then there is no need for the empire to continue pursuing omega. But I would like to say that in season 1 tech did tell everyone that boba fett went missing after the battle of genosis which could foreshadow that bad batch making it look like they are missing or dead ( huh they were presumed missing at the end of season 1 🤡 wouldn’t it be interesting if hemlocks lab was bombed just like his other labs and kamino??? It seems like the ordinal bombardment has been sneaking around the narrative, will it be ready to strike again??? I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we saw hemlock and tarkins talk… it’s obvious the emperor needs to keep hemlock and his research alive so why would palpatine ever issue an ordinal bombardment on Tantis? Why did we need to hear that hemlocks research was taking so much money??? Hemlock is literally on a tight rope ready to snap. It’s just we have no idea what’s going to make him fall.

This entire show, Rex has been weaving in and out of the narrative as well, I do think he will get a show but I also think in the context of the bad batch and mount Tantis that he will be involved in its destruction as well. That could mean:

The bad batch asking for their help: the rebellion performs a front line assault while the bad batch go around the rear, invade and rescue omega

The bad batch tell the rebellion about Tantis but the bad batch go in alone. But at the last moment the rebellion shows up and helps

They still work together but the bad batch go in alone to both save omega and to sabotage the inside before the rebellion shows up.

I literally can’t see any other way of this show ending where the rebellion doesn’t show up. I’m highly convinced they ARE the Calvary that arrives. I think it would be neat if we get the wolffe reveal here. That he has joined the resistance sometime between his appearance in extraction and the last episode. Like “surprise! I’m here and I brought more of our brothers to the rebellion”

I also don’t really think any of the bad batch members are going to die. Pls don’t attack me with what imma say next 💀 but if tech is really dead then there isn’t a need for any of the other batchers to die too. Cause tech was the “they have to lose at some point and that was it”. (Look I’m like 80% CX-2 is tech and if he isn’t then we are all clowns 🤡 ) Hunter is omegas father and the writers didn’t put so much emphasis on other side characters hinting to Hunter on how to lay low and live a good life outside of being a soldier for him to die. And tech didn’t “die” attempting to save crosshair for him to die either. To top that, crosshair didn’t go through all this healing for him to die too. Wrecker… wrecker just isn’t allowed to die. That’s it.

I’ve gone beyond my speculations for this next episode but I just ARGH I think the next few episodes are going to be dark but I do think there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Some people point to Michele saying the ending is bittersweet but I think she meant it in a way that for herself the actual show ending is bittersweet. Dee did tell me that I do need to bring a lot of tissues to the finale and the kiners did say they cried writing the music for the finale. Which says nothing to how the show will actually end. We could be crying happy tears for all we know!!!

ANYWAY, if avatar was able to do so much in 1hr and 30 min then I think the bad batch can do a lot in (hopefully) 1 hr and 44 min.

(If the the finale isn’t an hour long then you will NOT be hearing from me)

As it goes with every new brainrot I have, it’s time for Kirby crossover again :)

Kirby in one piece! With one piece’s strong focus on dreams and found family, I thought it would fit for Kirby to be a pirate that dreams of sailing to the stars and beyond. Not that this is very achievable by normal means, but we know that it’s at least possible with Eneru and the Skypiea arc :D

Kirby has the devil fruit power of the copy-copy fruit! A paramecia activated by contact and only able to copy one fruit at a time. It can copy logias and paramecias with no problems, though actual ability using the fruit’s powers is up to Kirby to practice and figure out. Zoans can only be copied to partial transformations and cannot be awakened. Kirby doesn’t have much of a mind for haki but has a lot of latent conquerer’s haki that he doesn’t realize— it’s one of the reasons he’s able to make friends so effortlessly.

Meta Knight in this AU is a retired marine, between Captain and Rear Admiral level. He has a bat model zoan fruit that allows him to grow wings, and is a skilled swordsman. He’s retired from the marines but acts a his own separate party that is neither revolutionary, marine, nor pirate, keeping his own fleet known as the Meta-Knights. Their actions are similar to pirates despite not flying a Jolly Roger. They claim territory to protect and occasionally fight other pirate crews, and they claim no allegiance to the world government. They simply go where they are needed. Meta Knight will sometimes sail with Kirby on his small ship, the Popstar, just to keep Kirby out of trouble and make sure the ship is well stocked and well-maintained and able to be seaworthy.

Dedede is the king to one of the small countries that isn’t represented at the Reverie. That means he has a lot more freedom to do his own thing, including setting sail while taking a crew of Dees with him and leaving the country in the hands of some administrative Dees. Dedede splits his time between exploring and sailing and returning home to run his country, with the help of his trusty second in command, Bandanna Dee. Dedede has a penguin model Zoan fruit, and Bandanna doesn’t have any devil fruit but is proficient in coating their spear in haki. They’re the designated save-the-fruit-user-from-drowning person when they’re on deck.

Kirby’s crew changes because a lot of the people he recruits tend to have their own responsibilities. His crew is also full of people he’s beaten. It’s not uncommon for Kirby to sail alone, though he gets into more scrapes than usual with bad weather and rough waves. It can hardly be called a pirate crew, but Kirby has collected all the most heinous criminals under his banner and as such, the world government treats it as a threat.

Complex feelings about copyright and Disney's appalling ethics aside, it does unsettle me how quickly people jump to make and monetize the most unnerving, depraved content imaginable about characters created for children the second it hits the public domain

Fernando Alonso & His Relationship With Cards

I'm sure we're all familar with the cards on the back of Fernando's Vegas GP helmet by now, but did you know his relationship with cards goes a lot deeper?

I. Magic Tricks

You've probably seen or heard someone at least mention Fernando's propensity for card tricks. As far as I can tell he was doing them(publically) as far back as 2003 all the way to as recently as 2018. Even once performing a card trick, with a condom and a teddy bear(!??!?!??!!), in front of Valentino Rossi who said "How was that possible?"(x)

But how did this start? According to James Allen, "Fernando admits to having been heavily influenced by his grandfather, a mercurial figure, who taught him magic and card tricks, still one of his passions away from the race track."(x) And I'm not sure the validity of this one, because I couldn't find an actual source, but apparently he once said: "My parents are responsible for the two things I like doing most - driving and magic tricks. They bought me my first go-kart and a magician's kit."

In several interviews he described it as his hobby off track, and that he loved learning new tricks and surprising others in the garage with them! So clearly cards are pretty important to him both as a hobby but also to who he is as a person since they've been with him just as long as racing has.

II. Card Symbolism in His Helmets

This is the reason I originally made this post, but I thought I should also explain the origins of his card fascination first. As I said, we probably all remember the cards on the back of his helmet in Vegas, but did you know that wasn't the first time he had cards on the back of his helmet?

From 2008-2013, he used to have a pair of cards on the back of his helmets. The symbolisms of the cards themselves as well as the evolution of their design is really fascinating to me! Even more so with the recent development of the card choice in 2023.

Fernando said he wanted to reference his two titles in some way on the back of his helmet and after his friend sent him several ideas, he decided on having two cards(an ace of clubs and an ace of hearts, sometimes pictured with 05 and 06 on them as well), saying: "I picked the cloverleaf [the ace of clubs - Ed] to give me luck, but the only pity is that it doesn't have four leaves!"(X)

2008.

Here's the very first appearance of the cards! They're displayed flat, with the 05 and 06 clearly visible

2009.

Very similar to 2008, but with a slightly different design, and they're maybe a bit more straight with less shadow?

2010.

This is the first major change! I was sad they didn't have the years on them anymore, but then I realized they're sparkly to match with his signature lightning bolts on the top of the helmet!!

2011.

Honestly I'm still somewhat unsure if this is the actual 2011 helmet? It's pretty difficult to find clear photos of the back of helmets from older seasons. It's easiest to find them on replica sites or auction sites so I'm not 100%? But anyways, I like that this has the championship years on the underside of the cards

2012.

This is when I started getting weirdly emotional about the helmets. Do you see how they've progressed from being a centerpoint to being curled up and sad at the bottom of the helmet? Not listing the year anymore??

2013.

Same thoughts as 2012. And after this season, they cease to exist (just like his ferrari chair in the garage, WOAH CALLBACK), until cards make a reeappearance in his Vegas helmet, albeit in a different form

2013 Monaco(Honorable Mention):

For some reason 2013 helmets were easier to find proper pictures of, so I happened to witness this absolute beauty. The creativity of this helmet genuinely blows me away??? Wanting to keep the card motif, but making sure to incorporate it into the rest of the puzzle piece design?? Mwah! There was another special 2013 helmet but they didn't change the cards at all so I really applaud this one

2023 Las Vegas(The Return of The King):

The magnificent return! But look! The cards are different cards! Instead of being two aces, it's now an ace of hearts, a four of hearts(his driver number of course!) and, the, now iconic, representation of himself as a Joker. I literally could not believe my eyes when this helmet was released and I saw the Joker card, what a fucking silly old man....I really wonder if he felt nostalgic having cards on his helmet again or if he didn't think about it all and was just like, "ah cards because Vegas!!!"

III. Why Does This Matter?

*The rest of the post was factual, this is moreso my personal thoughts on the symbolism of the cards/designs

This post spawned from me recently watching the 2010 Bahrain gp and noticing "hey wait a minute...are those CARDS ON THE BACK OF HIS HELMET!?" It's a really tiny detail that's unfortunately covered up by the HANS device pretty much whenever he's wearing the helmet, so it's really difficult to spot! But I became fascinated with the fact that he had cards on his helmet before that recent helmet, and now here we are!

There's something to me about how the design of the cards evolves over the course of six seasons from the cards being front and center to being smaller, more folded up and closer to the bottom of the helmet. As I said, the 2012-2013 ones genuinely made me depressed because it feels, symbolically, like his hopes for getting another Ace are becoming more and more unlikely and falling away until they eventually fall falt and fade away entirely after 2013 and disappear for basically a decade.

But when they return? They're not the same cards! Instead of representing Fernando's championships, they now represent him as a person, displaying his driver number and his persona of being a Joker!! Though I do think it's interesting he happened to keep the Ace of Hearts, even though he talked more about the Ace of Clubs before. I'm not sure it's actually this deep in reality, but I like to think that it's him not letting his championships(and the lack thereof) define him, but rather letting who he is as a person shine and be the centerpoint instead! But on a sadder note, as @suzuki-ecstar said to me, maybe the Aces aren't there anymore because he's lost all hope for a chance at a third Ace entirely :(
