does ikalgo have deeper significance to killua's character? i get that hes like a new friend for killua but why does it feel like he was portrayed so importantly to killua's character during caa? its like theres a deeper meaning, why did killua go out his way just to save ikalgo from those two chimera ants when they entered the building? and why did he look so hesitant? he had thoughts that said "what am i doing..? why the hell am i going the opposite direction?" or something like that. idk it just feels like togashi was implying something abt killua there but i cant figure out what that is. do u have an idea?

Hello! This is a great question!

Ikalgo's friendship with Killua is vital both to Killua's development and also to Chimera Ant arc as a whole! I can explain that significance.

Throughout much of the series, Killua tags along with Gon and primarily focuses on him. He befriends other people, certainly, but he generally does this through Gon--it's not like he's going out of his way to make these friends on his own.

In Chimera Ant Arc, the connection between Gon and Killua gets somewhat disrupted by the events that happen, and Gon's focus shifts primarily to saving Kite and his revenge on Pitou, leaving Killua to worry and feel somewhat left behind and helpless (partly as a result of the the Palm situation as well).

When Killua splits off from Gon to try and save civilians, he meets and a battles an enemy at the time, Ikalgo.

During their fight, Killua gives Ikalgo a choice: Either sell out his friends by revealing their nen powers, or die. Ikalgo chooses to die rather than betraying his friends, and Killua is able to relate to this loyalty. He spare's Ikalgo's life and tells Ikalgo that if they'd met another way, maybe they could have been friends.

Killua's kindness in empathizing with Ikalgo and sparing him is the only thing that saves his life later when he's bleeding out from the needlefish darts. Had Killua not extended that mercy and said those kind words to Ikalgo, Ikalgo would not have saved him, and he would have died.

It's interesting/neat how the scene right after Ikalgo saving Killua from the needlefish involves Gon having his own encounter with another friendly Chimera Ant, and the tone of their conversation is quite a bit different:

Anyway, when Killua shows Ikalgo mercy, makes it clear that they're friends now, and invites him to come along and be part of the human side of the war, he essentially becomes to Ikalgo what Gon has been to him: Someone who represents light, and who represents a path forward to a better life. In this arc, Killua worries that he doesn't deserve a place at Gon's side, but at the same time here he extends the same kind of light and hope that Gon gave him to someone else.

As for the scene where Killua breaks off away from Gon in the Palace Invasion in order to protect Ikalgo, this continues to show Killua's world expanding outside of Gon. Notice how in this page, it clearly shows Killua leaving Gon behind--they have their backs to each other, which is a frequent image in this arc. His mission was to protect Gon and make sure Gon could complete his revenge against Pitou, so deviating from that mission is both shocking to him, and potentially dangerous, but it shows that he's starting to protect and care for others as well as Gon.

Now, I want to be clear that I see this as a positive step for Killua. At this point in the series, Killua had made Gon his entire reason for living, essentially, and him going outside of that and making other friends and protecting and caring about them is a vital step for his character. It's showing that he's becoming a more expansive, mature person who can care for multiple people (or ants) at once rather than centering his entire existence and sense of self around one person. He made this action as quickly and efficiently as possible so he could get back to Gon's side, but he did go out of his way and leave Gon behind momentarily, and even he is surprised by this.

And while obviously I adore his nearly single-minded love and devotion for Gon, with what happens between them in this arc he needs to have others in his life besides Gon, and it's part of his transition into also being the light for Alluka and Nanika. It's a result of Killua's own innate kindness and empathy and the choice he made to leave his previous life behind, but also, he was able to reach this point partly because Gon showed him the love and encouragement he needed to become the person he is.

Now, as for Ikalgo's role in the arc as a whole: He's part of a chain of kindness and mercy that ends up changing the entire outcome of the Chimera Ant arc. This post puts it incredibly well. The chain of kindness started at the beginning of the series, with Gon befriending and rescuing Killua in spite of his background, which then eventually leads to Killua sparing Ikalgo (who then saves Killua right back), and then Ikalgo sparing Welfin, and then Welfin giving Meruem Komugi's name so that they got to be together in the end. Ikalgo shows the consequences of Killua's kindness, which are also the consequences of Gon's kindness, in part.

A major theme of the series and of Chimera Ant arc is that love and kindness are transformative, and Ikalgo has such an important role in demonstrating that theme.

Hi friend! I appreciate your fighting spirit and hope for S3. As much as I'd like for it to be renewed, I think it deserves more than max would give. I'd prefer someone else to pick it up who would give them their 10 episodes and the amount of time they need.

Would it be more beneficial to campaign at potential buyers for a rescue rather than pleading with someone who's already made their decision? I feel like the BBC at least already had enough interest that they brought the broadcasting rights, and they have no problem with short running (3-5 season), 10-episode series. They also have an MO to run programming that is representative of the license fee payers.

Idk, as a UK resident this is the best scenario I can think of. I'm not as familiar with other companies, and I know viewer opinions do carry weight as pretty much everyone in the UK is taxed to fund the BBC. They have a televised show, Points Of View, which is entirely for people to contact with their feelings about currently airing programs.

I don't expect you to have the answer, just thinking out loud! (I did contact renewasacrew about this but haven't heard anything back yet). Regardless, I did contact the BBC myself saying why it'd be beneficial for them to rescue it the day after we got the news.

(They also have a good track record for releasing stuff on DVD)

Yeah, I agree that OFMD is too good for Max. To have a show do THAT well, and then receive a 40% budget cut for its second season, and then get canceled before it can complete its story? Insulting.

I have no industry knowledge, so this is me just wondering out loud, I keep going back and forth on what would be more likely, Max reversing its decision or another streamer picking it up. On the one hand, reversing the decision would be a blow to Zaslav's ego. Men like that don't like admitting they made a mistake. On the other, I imagine there would be more red tape to go through selling the show elsewhere? I don't know! I just wonder. And I just really want that final season!

I don't know a ton about BBC, but from what you say here, it seems like a solid option! And from what I've been hearing, reaching out to specific services (as opposed just tagging all of them in every post) is the way to go. Make it more personalized, make them see the benefits, etc.

Now that @asneakyfox has won me over, my preferred choice at the moment is AppleTV. There's an international audience, they don't seem as IP hungry as Max (Ted Lasso was also anticipated to be three seasons from the beginning, and that's what they got), they appreciate unique, quality shows that value storytelling that may not be picked up elsewhere, such as Severance. They don't seem as strict on run times, so it means we may be able to get longer episodes with Taika and Rhys doing bits! And there are a good amount of parallels between OFMD and Ted Lasso (feel-good comedies that go surprisingly deep, found family, discussions of mental health) that OFMD could very much fill that void Ted Lasso left behind.

But we'll see what happens! The important thing for now is to just continue making it clear how beloved OFMD is and how any platform would be smart to pick up a show with such a passionate, loyal fan base.

chapter 2 - no such thing as a white lie (lt. bradley “rooster” bradshaw)

"You’re up bright and early.” You turn from where you’re making pancakes to see a half-asleep Bradley, still in his pajamas. You try not to let your eyes trail down to where his sweats hug his waist. You bring your gaze back up to meet his eyes, where he’s rubbing the sleep out of them. You shrug.

"We’re going to the beach today, remember? Didn’t want to be running late.” Truth was that you hadn’t been able to sleep, too preoccupied as you thought about your impending divorce to the brunette who was letting you stay in his guest room and the ever-growing knawing in your chest at the thought. He yawns, settling at the table.

“Oh yeah. You don’t have to go to that if you don’t want to.” You roll your eyes as you pull the last of the pancakes off the stove.

“We do have to sell the lie Bradley. Besides, I like the beach and don’t have anything better to do.” He nods but doesn’t say anything as you set the pancakes down on the table. He smiles at you as you turn around to grab plates out of the cabinet.

“Why, thank you honey. We make such a good married couple.” He drawls and you roll your eyes.

“Yeah well, you’re getting your own coffee.” You say as you sit back down, grabbing your own cup. He sighs dramatically as he pushes himself up from the table. You snicker into your mug as he rounds the table, grabbing his own mug and pouring himself a cup. “Drama queen.” You mutter as you began to grab pancakes. He scoffs in response as he returns to his seat. “What is dogfight football anyways?”

“It’s football but offense and defense at the same time.” You stare at him, mid-bite.

“How the hell does that work?” He shrugs, grabbing pancakes of his own.

“I don’t know, it just does. Started out as a team bonding activity but now it’s really just a way for us to all hang out.” You nod.

“Who’s all going to be there?”

He pauses for a moment as he chews. “The whole crew from the other night, along with everyone else. So Halo, Omaha, Fritz, Yale, and Harvard are the new ones.”

“God, I suck with names.” You mutter and he chuckles.

“You’ll be okay. Halo’s the only other girl and Yale and Harvard got their names because they never shut the fuck up about their time at Yale and Harvard. You’ll get the other two pretty quickly.” You nod. “Oh, and Mav will be there.”

“Mmm, speaking of, how do you think last night went?” The two of you had gone over to Maverick’s place for dinner, and Iceman had been there. He tilts his head, a sign he’s thinking the words over.

“I think it went pretty okay. Mav loves you obviously.”

“Obviously.”

He smirks. “But yeah, I think Ice bought it?”

You raise your eyebrows. “Really?”

“Do you not?”

“Either he didn’t buy it or he didn’t like me.” Bradley chuckles.

“No, that’s just how he is. Ice is just very... stone-cold. He earned the callsign Iceman for a reason.” Bradley glances up at you, taking in the disbelief on your face, and shakes his head. “Sunshine, I’m serious. He told me last night that I did good. You’ve got nothing to worry about. Everyone likes you and no one suspects a thing.” You snort.

“Phoenix does not like me.” He sighs, setting his fork down on his plate.

“Yeah, well, that might have something to do with the fact that I told Phoenix.” You widen your eyes.

“Not that I care but doesn’t that go against the whole point of lying?” He shrugs.

“She suspected something was up anyways. She just thought we were separating.”

“Technically, that’s not untrue.” You remind, pointing a finger at him.

“Yeah, I know. But I’ve known her for a long time, didn’t feel right to lie to her.”

“So, you’ll lie to Maverick but not Phoenix?” He shoots you a look and you throw your hands up in the air in surrender. “Fine, fine, whatever.” You mumble. “While we’re speaking about it, have you actually looked into the process for getting a divorce?”

He shrugs. “Kind of, why? Shouldn’t be that complicated if it’s uncontested.”

“Okay, have you looked into getting divorces in the military?” He pauses, looking up at you.

“Is it different?” You narrow your eyes, leaning forward.

“Bradley, yes.” You sigh, putting your fork down as you grab the stack of papers you had printed off at three am last night that were sat off to the side. His eyes widen as he takes them from you, flipping through them.

“When did you have time to look at all this?”

You shrug. “Last night. Couldn’t sleep. I ended up going down a rabbit hole.”

“Why is a divorce in the military more complicated than regular divorces?” He mutters.

“I don’t know, because it’s the military? Just give me these.” You say, grabbing the papers from him. He sighs.

“Okay, okay, I’ll see if I can’t figure this out.” You sigh, rolling your eyes.

“We’re gonna need outside help. Did you know the Navy will provide us both with free legal counsel but not legal representation?” He snorts.

“That’s not a thing.”

“Yes, it is!”

“Where’d you learn that?”

“Google.”

“Google’s an unreliable source.” He says and you shoot him a look in return, tossing the papers on the counter.

“Fine, you figure it out. I’m going to get ready for the beach.”

The car door shuts behind you as you sigh, welcoming the warmth of the sun on your skin. You make your way to the group of pilots who are standing with Penny and who you think is her daughter Amelia. Bradley grabs your hand as you get closer. It’s for appearances, you remind yourself as Penny turns, waving the two of you over. He squeezes your hand as you reach the group but you’re unsure if he even realizes that he does it.

“Bradshaw! Sunshine!” Fanboy exclaims and you roll your eyes, even though they can’t see it from behind your sunglasses. The pilots exchange greetings as Penny offers you a hug.

“This is my daughter Amelia.” She says, gesturing to her daughter, who’s sat on the blankets, watching the pilots goof off. You smile, setting your bag down and sitting next to her.

“Mav said we could start without him.” Coyote says, slinging an arm around one of the unfamiliar pilots shoulders. “Something about oversleeping.” Bradley nods.

“Oh, by the way. Omaha, Fritz, Halo, Yale, Harvard, this is my wife.” You wave to the pilots and they give various greetings.

“Are we playing or what?” Hangman calls from further down the beach, where he’s already standing with Payback, Phoenix, and Bob. Bradley hesitates and turns to look at you.

“You good if I leave you here?” You nod, giving him two thumbs up. He offers you a goofy grin and jogs after his friends and you find yourself smiling at his retreating figure. You chat mindlessly with Penny as you watch the group spread out, creating makeshift teams. Penny snickers as you watch the men of the group pull their shirts off. You’d always known Bradley to be attractive and you’d known the Navy had done him favors but damn. And well, Hangman wasn’t entirely hard on the eyes either.

“You’re admiring.” Amelia teases and you shoot her a look.

“Listen, I might be married but that doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to look.” You say, eyes already following Bradley again as he tackles Hangman. You had overheard the two yelling about being team captains, which sounded on brand for the little Bradley had shared with you about their friendship. Your statement pulls a laugh from Penny.

“You’re only watching Bradley sweetheart.” She says, flipping a page in her magazine. You blush as Amelia snickers.

“You’d never know the two of you have been married as long as you have with the way you look at the boy.” Your cheeks grow hotter as you turn to see Maverick grinning at you. He leans down to give Penny a kiss and you turn to Amelia, sharing a knowing smirk with her.

“I thought they weren’t dating.” You fake-whisper, well aware the adults behind you can hear you.

“They’re not.” She fake-whispers back and the two of you giggle as you turn back to the couple behind you. Maverick rolls his eyes and Penny shakes her head, suppressing a smile. Maverick heads down the beach and you watch as the group greets him. You sigh, sitting up to grab your book from your bag.

“Sunshineeeee!” Hangman calls and you look up to see him jogging towards you.

“What?”

“Come play, our numbers are off since Pops joined.” You sigh, standing up.

“I guess I could, but I probably won’t be any good.” He shakes his head.

“Doesn’t matter, Bradshaw will kill us if we hurt a hair on his wife’s pretty little head.” You snort as you pull your shirt off. He lets out a low-whistle and you feel yourself blush. “His pretty little wife, who’s also got a pretty-”

“Hangman.” Penny says sternly and you snicker. You pull your hair up as you follow the blond back down the beach. The group turns to you as you approach.

“Okay, how do I play?” Maverick turns.

“You’ll be on Hangman’s team.” Bradley grumbles and you give the brunette a side glance. Probably just to keep up appearances, you tell yourself. “It’s offense and defense at the same time. We really just need you to even out our numbers, so don’t worry too much.”

“See, I watched Phoenix tackle Fanboy earlier so I think maybe I should be worried.” You say cautiously, biting your lip. She laughs, shaking her head.

“I won’t tackle you, I swear.” You’re not entirely sure you believe her but nod anyways as the groups break apart. The game passes without much work on your part, the pilots competitive streaks doing most of the work. Eventually, you and Bob call it quits and you sit down next to the pilot, a little ways away from the group. Bob snickers as you once again get distracted watching Bradley chest bump with Coyote. He shakes his head and you look at him, sheepish. He opens up his mouth to say something but he’s interrupted by Fanboy loudly announcing he’s done and the group, save for Hangman, Phoenix, and Bradley, agrees. Rooster and Phoenix are off to the side talking to Maverick and Hangman waves you over. You bid Bob goodbye as he turns, trekking his way back up the sand with the rest of the group.

“Yes Hangman?” You call and he smirks.

“We're gonna throw the ball around a little bit, figured you might want to join us.” You shrug, placing your hands on your waist.

“Sure, but I won’t be very good. Lack of coordination and all that.” He nods, handing you the foam football.

“I know, which is why I’m gonna show you how to throw it.” He shows you how to properly wrap your hands around it, positioning your feet, and even goes so far as to help guide your arms, something he could’ve easily done without putting his hands on you. It’s a move that doesn’t go unnoticed by the three a bit away from you and you certainly don’t miss Bradley’s frown at the sight of it. Once they’ve turned back to their conversation, Hangman lets you go and takes a step back. “Alright, should be good to go. Throw the ball.” You do and it hits Bradley square in the back. You wince, feeling yourself go red. Hangman’s roaring with laughter as the three turn to face you.

“Sorry Bradley.” You call, cringing at what you did. Maverick chuckles, turning to walk back up the beach.

“You’d do well to remember what I said about adultery Seresin.” Maverick calls as he walks away and you find yourself going even redder at the comment. Phoenix is laughing as Bradley grabs the football from the ground. They move towards you and you smile sheepishly at him.

The football begins to get passed between the four of you, not going entirely well. Your throw is improving bit by bit, but the catching skills just quite aren’t there. The ball almost never stays in your grasp and more often than not, you miss it entirely. There’s chatter passing between the pilots as you sit there and listen in, finding a comfort in the friendship the three seem to share.

Eventually, Hangman and Phoenix call it quits and turn to make their way back up the beach. A few more passes get thrown between the two of you until you make a particularly sweet catch and Rooster lets out a whistle. You laugh, turning on your heel and bolting down the beach.

“Wha- Hey, that’s not part of the game!” He yells behind you and a quick glance behind you tells you that despite his comment, he’s chasing you down the beach. Perfect.

“It is now!” You yell back and continuing running down the beach. You’ll never be able to outrun him but the cheers of his team spur you on as you move towards the water, hoping the muddy sand will slow his pace. It doesn’t though and all too soon, you feel a body collide with yours, nearly tipping you into the water below. The football falls out of your hands as you yelp. Bradley’s arms come out to wrap around you, lifting you up and keeping you from falling into the water. You turn your head, meaning to give him a witty comment, when you realize how close he is to you.

Your eyes flicker down to his lips and you swallow.

He’s right there.

“Gotcha.” He whispers, licking his lips.

The waves are cascading over your feet and up onto your knees and thighs but you find you don’t care.

It would be so easy to just-

Your heart is hammering against your chest and it feels like everything stops when he leans ever so closer-

Hangman lets out a yell, something distinct and in the distance but it’s enough to break the two of you out of your bubble. He slowly lets you down, feet hitting the sand, but his arms don’t move as he looks at you for a moment longer. You wiggle out of his arms, taking a step back. Moment’s over.

This isn’t real.

You sigh as you take another step back, turning to find the football you had dropped.

This wasn’t real. Get it together.

Bradley lets out a low whistle, spotting the foam football before you do. You follow his gaze, finding it a few moments after he does. If you squint, you can see the neon green bobbing in the distance, floating away from the two of you with the tide, waves carrying it further out to sea with every passing moment.

“Well, we’re not getting that football back.”

“Sorry.” You mutter, heat rising to your cheeks. If it has more to do with the moment that just passed between you and Bradley then the lost football, well then, that’s between you and the universe.

“No worries, it’s like what, $5 dollars? Footballs can be replaced.”

You nod numbly, shouldering past him to move back up the beach. Tears prick at your eyes as you let out a few deep breathes, willing yourself to hold it together as you near the group.

It’s never been real.

Bradley arrives just behind you, him arm finding his way across your shoulder as he begins discussing plans for the rest of the afternoon with his team. His hand is sitting on your shoulder, gently rubbing circles into the skin, a movement you don’t think he’s conscious of.

It makes your skin burn.

You wish he wasn’t touching you, that you didn’t have to be so close to him, to have to continue to pretend.

The sound of the group making plans is a distant noise and you only realize they’ve decided to disperse as everyone packs their things. Bradley hands you a bag to take back to the Bronco and you numbly head towards the parking lot, him hanging back to finish up his conversation with Maverick. You’re just shutting the door of the back, turning to go climb in the front seat when you come face-to-face—well, it’s more like face-to-chest—with Hangman. You don’t miss the fact that he’s still not wearing a shirt. You swallow as your back hits the side of the Bronco and you look up at him, one of his arms coming up to rest against the side of your head, sitting on the truck. You could easily move if you wanted to, and you know he did that on purpose. He leans down, hot breath fanning against your ear.

“I know.” He whispers.

“Know what?”

“That this thing between you and Bradshaw isn’t real.”

You move to jerk away but he’s faster, other hand coming down to wrap around your wrist.

“How the hell-”

“Phoenix told me. Told all of us.” He supplies, not moving his head. “You know, you’re far too pretty to let Bradshaw lead you on like this.”

“He’s not leading me on. There was an agreement made between us. It’s never been real.”

It’s never been real.

He sighs, only pulling away enough to look you in the eyes. “You really going to tell me you don’t have more than just friend feelings for him?”

Everything freezes as your breath catches in your throat.

You do successfully jerk away from him now, pushing him back. His hand drops and he lets go of your wrist. You mutter a “Fuck off.” right as Bradley’s appearing, stepping between you and Hangman, pushing him farther back.

“What the hell Hangman?” Hangman doesn’t respond, just puts his hands up in surrender as he takes a few more steps back.

“I got what I wanted.” He says and turns, walking back towards his truck where Coyote is watching him.

“Yeah, get lost Hangman! Stay away from my wife!” Bradley shouts and your roll your eyes at the words, slipping out from behind him. He turns, reaching out for you and narrowly missing your arm as you round the truck, climbing into your seat. The truck is warm as you lean back against your seat and you take comfort in the heat. You close your eyes and you hear Bradley climb into the car a few moments later. You keep your eyes firmly closed as he starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot, heading back towards his house. Somewhere along the way, Bradley starts talking, even though your eyes are still closed.

“You asleep?” You shake your head, although you are sleepy. The day and the sun and the heat of the car is making you curl up, wanting to take a nap right there.

“Just tired.” You mumble.

“Yeah, I bet. Hey, the team is all gonna go get dinner and some drinks in a few hours if you want to come with?” You don’t say anything, not wanting to spend any more time pretending for people who already knew the truth anyways. He sighs as he makes a turn. “Well, why don’t you shower and let me know?” You shrug, eyes still shut. You drive for a little while longer and eventually, you feel him pull into his driveway. You keep your eyes closed, not wanting to move just quite yet. Bradley lets out a soft chuckle and you can hear him unbuckle his seatbelt after turning the car off, leaning over the center console. He pokes your shoulder and you jerk away from him, eyes fluttering open. “Whoa, sorry, didn’t mean to scare you. We’re home.”

We’re home.

His choice of words makes your throat close up, words that in any other context would’ve sounded domestic, would’ve sounded sweet. A couple returning to their home after a day out, ready for a shower and a nap together, before getting dinner later.

It’s not your home.

You unbuckle your seatbelt, climbing out of the car and shutting the door behind you. You unlock the door with your key as Bradley grabs the bags from the back and you welcome the cool air-conditioning of the home. It ripples over your skin, creating goosebumps in its wake. You all but collapse on the couch as Bradley sets the things down, shutting the front door behind him.

“Hey, I’m gonna go shower, okay?” You nod as you shift to pull your legs up towards your chest. The sounds of the shower turn on and you sit there, eyes looking over the photos on the wall. The other night, you had asked Bradley about them while eating dinner together. He’d gotten up form the table, taking you by the wrist, going through and telling you about each and every one of them.

One of his parents. They’re young, happy, and smiling. He’d said the photo was taken the night before their wedding.

Another with his parents. Bradley couldn’t have been more than three years old in the photo.

One with his Mom at his 10th birthday, his little chubby cheeks rosy, blowing out his candles.

One from his 7th birthday, on Maverick’s shoulders, a toy plane in his hand.

Another one with Maverick from a few months ago. You had been told Maverick had the same picture in his hangar. The picture had been taken after their mission that had brought them back together.

One from his graduation at UVA, the black robe with his orange stole adorning him as he stands there with his empty diploma holder. His smile is bright and you remember that day like it was yesterday.

You had taken that photo of him.

Graduation was a busy affair and you looked around, seeing if there were any friends you hadn’t gotten to say goodbye to when you spotted him. He was off to the side, watching the families celebrate with a hard look on his face. You called out his name and he turned, a small smile appearing. He moved a few feet towards you and you picked up the pace, meeting him in the middle. You offer him a big smile, adjusting the purse on your shoulder.

“Bradley, hey, congrats!”

He chuckles, looking away from you. “Yeah, hey, thanks.”

“Can I give you a hug or is that weird?” He shakes his head, tassel knocking into his face, reaching an arm out for you. You give him a side-hug, a little too disappointed when it was over.

The two of you weren’t good friends, maybe friends of a friend, but you liked the brunette and had always hoped to get to know him better. Guess your chance had come and gone.

“Hey, you’re all alone.”

He shrugs, looking back over to the crowd outside the stadium. “Yeah, Eli got dragged off by his sister, wanted to take pictures in front of the business building.”

You nod as his gaze come back to you. “Well, do you want me to take pictures of you?” He hesitates for a moment and then nods, fishing a camera out of his pocket. He adjusts his robe and cap as you take a step back.

“Fix your stole.” You call and he look down, doing so and then placing his diploma holder in his hands. “Okay, smile!” He does, his dimples popping out and you smile as you capture a few pictures.

Graduation had been months before your marriage agreement, before a tentative friendship began to build between the two of you. But it had started there, with that photo.

If you could do it all over, would you change any of it?

“Hey, you still haven't showered.” You glance up at him, startling out of your thoughts.

He was freshly showered, brown hair still damp as it sticks to his forehead. He’s in a fresh pair of shorts, t-shirt clinging to him. Whatever you mean to say to him, whatever excuse you were going to come up with, are overriden by the words that fight their way off your tongue.

“Hangman knows.”

He pauses in his walk towards the couch, looking down at you. “What do you mean he knows?”

“He knows. They all know. Phoenix told them.”

He stares at you, mouth gaping open. “Wh-what?”

“Look, I don’t want to go tonight.”

He sighs, but nods. “That’s- that’s fine, I guess. What do you want me to tell them?”

“I don’t know, you figure it out.” You sigh, moving off the couch. “Look Bradley, if you want to lie to Maverick, keeping up some sort of story, some sort of act, for your relationship with him, that’s your business. I think it’s kind of fucked up that you’re lying to him but as your friend, I’ll support you in doing what you think is right. Because quite frankly I don’t know these people and it’s not really any of my business. But God, I didn’t come all the way out here to try and make friends with people who are just going to be ripped out from under me when this is all over, when all is said and done. When the dust settles, you’ll be fine. And so will I, but excuse me for not wanting to get attached to people who won’t be my friend in two months time.”

He gapes at you, one of his hands coming out to wave around in front of him dramatically. “Where the hell is this coming from? You knew what you signed up for. You agreed to do this for me because you’re my friend.”

You push past him, moving towards the stairs. “Yeah, and that’s the problem.”

“The hell is that supposed to mean?” You let out a shaky breath, grip on the staircase banner tightening and then loosening again before you turn around to face him. He’s standing a few feet behind you on the bottom step and you take a step down, semi-closing the distance between the two of you. You set your hands on his shoulders, taking a deep breath to steel yourself.

“Nothing, it’s supposed to mean nothing. Just... go to dinner, have fun with your friends. It’s fine, don’t worry about it, I’m just tired.” You swallow as you turn back around moving up the stairs and into the guest room. The door shuts behind you with a soft click and your heart clenches with the fact that he let you walk away with no protest. You didn’t know if that made you feel better or worse.

Get it together.

It’s not real.

One of the reasons I'm still 95% confident in Buddie Canon is Ryan's acting choices. And I don't think they are just gonna be surprised one day like by the way here's next week's script you guys become a couple. I think since at least S3 they were given a heads up at least a bit. Also as someone who knows of shows where actors intentionally tried to get another LI by switching up the chemistry with other characters--- if Ryan didn't want to go that way he definitely could have sold Anna better. Not sure if that makes sense??

But we constantly for 3 seasons have gotten his subtle nods and sometimes I think we just don't appreciate it as much as we should. Ryan's portrayal of Eddie has definitely morphed into how petty he can be in the funnest way possible. With Buck its in the cute way he teases him, it reminds me of a boy pulling a girl's pony tale. With Taylor it's that subtle cattiness he adds to it and I love it.

I just really don't think Ryan would lean into it much if he wasn't given direction and wasn't aware where it was going.

Oh, for sure there’s no other satisfying outcome for either Buck, Eddie OR Chris. That kid also deserves to have these morons working it out and getting together. Without a doubt, the possibility of canon Buddie has been talked about. I think Ryan mentioned back in s2 that he and Oliver talked about this and showed each other Buddie edits, Tim also mentioned discussing this in the writers room, JLH also came out strongly for Buddie during s3, so if it happens, it will hardly be a surprise to anyone.

TBH, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out Ryan and Oli have always been making acting choices with Buddie in mind. They indicated early on that they’d be on board with it, which is the most any actors can say in those cases where the execs hadn’t come out and stated anything concrete. I get what you’re saying about switching up the chemistry and it def happens on some shows. IDK about Ana, because if Ryan was explicitly told to sell awkwardness with her, I don’t think he would have gone against orders, but I do believe that between those early statements and also that one interview in s3 ahead of the finale where Ryan was basically, “Abby who? Abby’s been replaced with Eddie!” that this is exactly what Ryan would prefer as long as it’s up to him.

I think Ryan and Oliver both give performances where it’s evident that their characters couldn’t be more in love with each other. Every facial expression, every glance, every show of fondness and joy and contentment just to be together, even the way they’re physically so in sync on calls, but only with each other, we haven’t seen them portraying their characters being that in tune, that comfortable, that teasing, that happy around anyone else on or off the job...

IDK if that means they were given directions on this, though I do think in s2 the show def deliberately wanted to set things up for canon Buddie being an option at some point, and I am as sure as I can be without any confirmation that if it were up to Ryan and Oliver, Buddie would be canon. Did I mention they freaking named our ship?

They want someone who will take what they're giving atm like a full English album the way they want or the songs they have given and out of the two jk is the one who currently has no problem with taking the readymade songs and jm won't

jm will Never be ready or want to release an Full English album jk had no problem with that

jm wanted to portray his story by his writing and involvement with songs so he would have not accepted a given album without any input but maybe jk was having a artists block so he was okay taking the offer

Thing is jm will simply not take an offer where he's getting handed an album and he's not putting anything with his art cause as far as i have seen he loves giving his inputs in his all solos so idt he would have just let someone else dictate his album. Idk how to explain this point without sounding rude to jk which i don't want to be but i have limited English so maybe it will sound rude if i use those words but hope you get what I'm saying.

And yes jm has always been more popular in the US Since the beginning while as jk got popular over the time. And yes all of jm's songs from BTS's album have more sales and more streams than jk's (except euphoria which has more Streams). Jm has most streamed and sold out units in the US out of all the members. Yes 'filter' is more streamed and sold song than 'my time'. The data is there on their sols fbs you can check so yes music wise jm has always been popular there and fans wise too cause like jk who's most fans are in the sea countries jm's most fans are from US. Jm actually is first member to have 3 solo songs(Lie, Filter, Serendipity) to sell 500k units in the US.

Things must have changed a little with jk performing at world cup and then with seven all the perfomances he did in the US. You said something like layover also did good without any US promo then no his songs were out of US chart on the 2nd or 3rd day something. Maybe it has re-entered later and all but his title song debuting at #56(idk the exact number) on BB hot 100 would tell you that.

Now jm actually would have beat Taylor in sales and would have got that BBMAS award if only Geffen had moved when fans were tagging them to restock it cause jm already had biggest sales of that week in the US. He needed just some thousands in order to him to get that most sold song beating Taylor but nahhh Geffen would not move a single finger for that. That screams sabotage. And no there's no explanation for geffen's behaviour. You said that seven has high chance of something so Maybe that's why Geffen restocked seven again and again but then how come jm is the only k-pop soloist who's nominated in the main category of sales with other white artists? Because he has the highest sales so tell me what potential they didn't see in LC that they were seeing in seven even tho seven sold less than LC?

You said jm's LC also got TTh so why are ppl complaing about seven's tth...cause jm's title song which is LC korean version has spend 0 days on TTh and his English version spent some 20 days on TTh now you get the difference? One title track not getting a playlist vrs other members getting one. And it's not just about the TTh it's also about the placement on TTh. People with less stream were there on TTh while LC despite having more no of streams didn't get TTh and not only TTh but there's data people posts where you can see shark difference between playlist reach of jm and all other members cause he had less playlist reach till now. The difference is ass big. Jm had some 0.4m radio while jk had some millions radio reach (you might think it's because of the English album so be it). There's too many other things and ways in which jm got sabotaged but this will go wayy too long so yeah let's not go into that.

Thing is we don't want jm to sing seven cause 1) seven is not my type of song so i wouldn't want jm to sing it 2) it's not suitable to jm 3) jm himself won't accept it. Just as jm was nervous jk was also nervous in plenty of his solo perfomances. Yes vocal wise jk is currently best in BTS but if jm was supposed to perform anywhere with his own song he could pull off anywhere cause you're talking about the member who has the most iconic performances in BTS. Now you must think jk has most iconic perfomces as world cup and the recent one and other festivals but thing is the EVENTS where he performed are iconic but i not the perfomce itself (i did liked the time square one and Jimmy Fallon one). Yes jm get's nervous but so does jk. Now you watch jk's break dance on "Today" and tell me jm wouldn't have done better than that?

Point if the company is capable of doing so much for a solo why are they so incapable of doing basic things for jm?? Idk if you were there or not but literally even the smallest thing during face was getting asked from the comapny from fans by trending tags while that's not the case for others. The 9 days promo of face is another discussion.

Jm did great in US with just one Jimmy Fallon performance. He's just recently re-entered US Spotify with 314k streams whithout any playlist after these many months while other songs are pulling less numbers than that with playlists and all. No one would be able to do that but jm can cause he is that popular there.

i know jk is popular and in demand but that 50% off on album, many versions to buy, tens of remixes screams desperation. with golden and seven they removed all the Things armys were proud of over BTS. every single thing armys dragged other artists for those all the things were given to golden.

You said jm was not being sabotagged intentional but it was not beacuse the comapny hate him it's because he wasn't supposed to be the first one to get that#1. They have a point to prove to west and to show how the investors what hybe America is capable of through jk so of course jm would get sabotaged cause he's coming in the way of that plan. JK fits the bad boy image, sure, a bit, he has tattoos, piercings, a more muscular body, etc. He's hot in a way the US is used to. I know some people think JM is too "feminine" or whatever.

That's not true. Jimin's English is actually better than JK's, and I think his accent is better too. Maybe in songs Jungkook's accent is less noticeable. The biggest difference is that Jungkook knows how to sing in English - how to adapt his singing to the language - better. And his voice fits Western pop better.

And here the underhanded comments begin. So, your argument is, that if Jimin was less of an artist and willing to just take what was handed to him (which he did for, you know, Angel pt. 1), then he would've been the preferred choice for Golden and JK's other collabs because he's more popular in the US? Proof?? As far as we know, they chose Jk specifically?

Proof?! Never? I don't think he'd be comfortable, and can't see him do it anytime soon, but I can definitely see him releasing a couple of English singles.

Jimin started Face because the members encouraged him to heal through music. Jungkook wasn't even sure about writing an album and there's nothing he wants to say right now, so he accepted to release an English album and challenge himself in a new way, while delivering fans the album they were waiting for. However, Jimin is working on music now. And you're once more implying they chose JK simply because Jimin wasn't available - again, proof??

Jimin only has writing credits on Lie among his solo BTS songs. He gave his input on choreo, and probably styling and themes. Jungkook has writing credits on Begin and My Time. He also participated in the performance and/or styling decisions behind Dreamers, Seven, 3D, SNTY, and all of Golden. Saying Jungkook didn't give any input on Golden, like Jimin hasn't recorded With You and Angel Pt. 1 without any input of his own, even if they're only collabs... I think Jimin is very much capable of accepting a song that is given to him, and Jungkook very much chose his songs. No one "dictated" Golden. Jungkook has agency. He knew what he was doing. He chose every track.

Listen, I won't fully get into everything else you wrote. It's too much work and I don't care enough to comment. My main take away is that you're making a ridiculous amount of assumptions. Like:

I mean, I'm not sure how you know he would've beat Taylor, but as for Seven, it's because of the tracking period?? Seven only came out in July. Sales aren't just physical sales, right? Streams count? Seven sold less than LC? I'm not sure about that, but you keep comparing two songs that were released months apart as if they came out at the same time?

I'm confused. Less than 5% of my writing online is omegaverse or a/b/o? So unless you've read 95% of my writing and have encountered Underline the Black, if you have most of the other writing to read, none of it will be omegaverse. There's only one series online that I've written which is omegaverse and that's the one I'm writing at the moment. Nothing else is.

You don't have to read something you don't enjoy re: Underline the Black, it's only a tiny proportion of my writing online anyway!

The thing is, I can't really do this, and I don't think it's my job to convince you to read or like something you've just told me you hate. And I don't know why you hate it, so I can't tell you why you'd enjoy my version of an omegaverse.

I can speak about it a little more broadly though.

People don't like omegaverse for a lot of different reasons. And people like me who do love omegaverse love it for a lot of different reasons. hundreds of reasons. It would be like saying 'what do people get out of romance stories?' Aside from the happy ending, it could be literally anything. So my answer to you is people like it for 'literally any reason.' You could look at any other kind of story you like, think about why you like it, and that's why people like omegaverse. They're just not squicked by it, so it's not complicated for them to enjoy it (for the most part). As soon as you're squicked by something, it doesn't matter how many things it has that you enjoy, you're going to be squicked, lol.

There's no universal omegaverse tropes beyond having alphas, betas, and omegas (or just alphas and omegas sometimes). I've published omegaverse stories with no sex. I've written omegaverse stories with sex but no sex during heats. I've read things in omegaverse that people don't expect to read and I've read the tropes and enjoyed them too. And there's lots of different reasons, but mostly I like angst, I like hurt/comfort, I like dubcon, I like trans and nonbinary metaphors even if they're clumsy, I like stories of self-acceptance, and you know what, I like those across genre, not just in omegaverse.

I'll be honest anon, I'm not really interested in selling you some 'special unique' version of omegaverse that I'm writing, because I like the classic tropes too, and I can't guarantee that I'm not going to put in things into this story which you're going to hate. I may have already done it. Idk why omegaverse squicks you personally, but chances are I'll write or already have written one of those things at least once, lol.

I'm not writing anything special or unique. A lot of omegaverse is subversive re: some of the tropes and not with others; and that's what I'm writing too. Underline the Black is proud to be an omegaverse story complete with a lot of omegaverse tropes, and it's been tagged accordingly. I sometimes zig where people expect me to be zag, but the rape/noncon warning is there for a reason (along with disturbing themes and dystopian universe).

Some people can't handle omegaverse to enjoy the angst or hurt/comfort or other tropes that they'd enjoy in other stories, and that's fine. My job isn't to make you read something you hate, anon, that would be bad news for both of us. I can't convince you you're going to like something when you've just told me you hate it, and it's mostly up to you to look at the tags carefully, and then decide what you think.

Like I said above, the vast majority of my online writing is not omegaverse, 95%+ isn't omegaverse. I'm just enjoying a/b/o right now, because it's one of my favourite things to read, so I'm enjoying writing it too. Whether you read it or not is your choice, and your responsibility, anon!

honestly I kinda agree with you, I wrote that in some tags the other day that I felt like it was getting a bit ignored! I do think the hours play a Part in it bc for many its at like 5am and for Europe its during work hours but yea! it could also be that we're at the end of 6 months of touring and like more than 60 shows so it's understandable that maybe the novelty has run off a little bit! also h is on tour and I think that's taking up a lot of attention from Those Fans while for the first months of louis' tour he wasn't doing anything. and also maybe the fact that we went to see him play arenas in latam and Asia and now he's back to small venues is making people less amazed and enthusiastic?? idk. also yeah these dumbass interviews aren't helping but that's not anybodys fault besides his team (it's honestly so stupid like how is an interview where u don't even play walls and then make him look bored and uncomfortable gonna sell the leftover tickets.... )

anyways, I think it's probably a multitude of factors but nothing really having to do with Australians as people! Taylor’s in a no-win situation. If the previously sold tickets were to be voided like some fans are asking for, people who purchased from third parties have lost out and scalpers will have been paid and refunded, earning likely more than 10x the original amount. If she goes ahead with the tour as-is, there will be big gaps where scalpers bought up groups of seats which is disheartening to see as a performer and a complete waste of resources for the venues. If she comes back online and announces a Rep style approach for the remaining tickets and rest of the tour, the people who got their tickets in the presales will have paid way more than everyone else and will ask why she didn’t do that in the first place. The scalping also makes it impossible to know what the actual fan demand is for these shows, do they need to consider more dates? Change the ticket options for future shows? Do fans actually want those VIP packages or was that their only option? All of these things are being placed on her despite it being a huge group of professionals’ JOB to organise big events and ensure it’s a positive experience for the artist and the fans so people aren’t so put off they don’t bother trying again. If she says fuck it and pushes the rest of the tour back until she can be sure it won’t happen every time, I’d understand.

I think what is also so frustrating is that the Reputation boost/verified fan system worked so well that it was considered the future of touring, and then Ticketmaster refused to do it again because they didn’t make the right profit. They function as a monopoly precisely by allowing scalpers and bots to purchase blocks of tickets and charging exorbitant fees - they always have and their profits have only increased with the dynamic pricing! Taylor can’t back out because there is nowhere else to sell tickets and she’s invested too much money and manpower in the tour already. I do suspect that she will release a press statement in the next few days once her legal team have figured out a way for her to criticise ticketmaster without opening herself up to lawsuits, but overall yes - she has no option but to soldier onwards and hope that by her next tour the anti-trust laws will have kicked in. It’s so disappointing for fans, I just hope no one is caught in the resale trap. No entertainer is worth $1000 a ticket and being ripped off and scammed taints the whole experience.

I keep thinking of how cruel of an insult "also-ran" is to Lea. To anyone else it's meaningless drivel—hell, I kind of lol wtf'd at it at first—but to Lea? Axel? Who's whole thing is "got it memorized" and wanting to live on in people's memories forever? To be called so worthless and forgettable that the only thing you can say about him is "yeah he was there, too, I guess"? Fuck, that must have hit like a blow to the gut.

And it was a deliberate choice on Xemnas's part, because he knows Axel's whole thing. He knows Axel's primary motivation is to matter and be remembered. But who remembers the also-rans?

It erases everything Lea has accomplished and relegates him to a true nobody—not a Nobody, but a nobody, nobody special, nobody worth mentioning, nobody worth caring about—all in two syllables specifically chosen to punch him in the gut.

On the surface, it seems like a weird translation choice. Something anachronistic, or maybe even a mistranslation, but I don't think it is. I think the translators picked the exact right insult—one that would be a hard miss to anyone else, but undermines everything that Lea is. And the more I think about it, the more it makes me hate Xemnas for that deliberate cruelty (and applaud the translation team for selling it).

My #1 post of 2022

I just realized something, and I kind of feel dumb for only now realizing it, but if you only play the numbered Kingdom Hearts games and Dream Drop Distance, you're experiencing the story how Sora experiences it. You know just as much about what's going on as he does.

The side games are only necessary if you want to fully understand the whole entire story, but if you only care about Sora and what Sora's doing and how the story affects Sora? No need to play Roxas or Xion's part of the story, or Terra, Ven, or Aqua's part of the story, or the Age of Fairy Tales, or even Data-Sora and pre-CoM memory-wipe Sora's stories. Sure, Coded and CoM and Days help, but Sora doesn't know what happened in them. He wasn't there. He didn't directly experience Coded and Days, and he's forgotten CoM (though the memory links reside in his heart). But the side games—again, except Dream Drop—were either about other characters, or were written so you don't have to play them to understand everything Sora does. Maybe there was a scene or two (baby Sora and Riku meeting Aqua) that is relevant, but he was also, what, four? Who remembers random strangers saying weird things to you when you're four? It happens all the time, adults are nuts and you don't have a whole lot of life experience so everything is weird to you anyway.

Or maybe I've been cooking on an empty stomach for an hour and it's starting to get to me. Idk. I expect I'll feel the same after I eat, though.

Just a heads up

SO, I've been considering this for a while, but I may move my main activity somewhere else like Instagram or Twitter (ugh). It's just been so incredibly difficult to try and catch a wave here when you're not already popular, and part of that is my fault. I'm really bad at producing for fandoms that are trending and instead bask in older burns that have been around a while but people don't hunt for much anymore. Also, people on this site are notoriously bad at liking posts rather than spreading them, lol.

ANYWAY, it seems like most artists have migrated to one of the two I mentioned above, for good reason. I would really like to be a more active creator for the things I love, and have been juggling the idea of commissions and selling merch and such to get my motivation up for years now, but I don't really feel seen here? And tho a big reason for that is admittedly my long hiatuses, I think maybe it's also partly because I'm proship and some people may be afraid to be seen supporting me lmao, idk. This whole puritan fan movement is pretty toxic and ruining creativity imo, but whatever. Still a firm believer of people not getting harassed for the things they like or being ashamed enough to hide said things (which is why I vehemently refuse to make a second blog for those kinds of interests and instead tag things as best I can so followers can blacklist). Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see all this baseless hostility over trivial shit. Sorry, I'm ranting about something completely different now.

But yeah, not saying this officially or anything. More of a heads up in case that were to happen since I'm just feeling it out rn. I do very much appreciate everyone who has ever supported me here and most everyone here has been incredibly kind. If you have ever reblogged my work (as well as any other struggling artist's), you are an MVP and doing god's work. And even if I moved, I would still absolutely post shit here, it would just be secondary to wherever I decide to move. It's unfortunate because I feel like tumblr's tagging system is by and large the most flexible/filterable archive for creator content and nothing else really compares. Just wish management hadn't made so many terrible decisions because the site as a whole really is a gift despite its buggy-ness.

If you've read this far, that warms my kokoro knowing you care enough lmao. Please don't hesitate to hmu just to chat. Or if you're interested in hearing more about commissions/merch that I really really wanna start doing for fandoms like SNK, OSMT, HS, and more such as Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss and Persona 5. I got a lot of interests that I just never get around to contributing to lolrip, and would like to start working on my HS fic again. Anywho, no matter what happens, you guys are great and I hope the world starts sucking a little less for you because recent years have been... hahahahaha. They were sure a thing, I guess.

20 Questions for fic writers

@cchapsticck tagged me and given we should have an update on CWSTAU by the end of this month, figured I should post.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

4 - Most of my work isn't published. I've written a lot but just...not put it out there. I've always been a chicken. However one I archived/deleted and the other is on an account I don't associate with this one, and is on long term hiatus. The other is on someone else's account that will be explained below and just, /gestures.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

18,760 (published) but to give ya'll some idea of how much of Conventional Weapons is sitting waiting to be edited/refined, I have 14k sitting in gdocs

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Stranger Things, Danger Days. This is a labor of love towards both fandoms, and when the main CW is done, I have pieces that are going expand with both the characters of ST and DD. Any other non-DD things will go on my other account (not associated here).

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

adlfkja only got the one baby. But I'm so thankful for each and every one of those kudos.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! It may not always be coherent or the best comment, but I try to give people some sort of response as they've gone that extra mile to provide me a comment. Every kudo, every comment means so much to me. Seriously, I wrote this expecting an audience of like, 2 people, and knowing so many more are enjoying it means the world to me.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

There is a timeloop fic that remains in the drafts that has a horrible ending, but I don't know if it will ever be published. As of right now, no angst endings here. Complicated, messy, but not angst ridden, really.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

The ending of Conventional Weapons is already written--its been written for a long time (before the middle parts were even written) and I don't know if it's the happiest ending, but it's the most hopeful.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nah, I'm too niche for that lol.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Smut with emotion? IDK. There are plans for smut in CW but I think they are going to be 'missing scenes' published after the fact that people can read/not read at their leisure. I enjoy writing it, but it isn't really what this story is about, and I honestly don't feel that it works with the main body of this story. Hence, the "click here to read the sex" aspect of what is going to happen. The 'sequel' things may be more explicit, as they aren't the direct story.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Gestures to what this entire blog/project is about.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nah.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

While not a traditional co-written piece, @cchapsticck has provided insight that has really helped me move this along, and the key mantra in the fic itself is from them. Their art has also really been important as well. They sell themselves short on their additions, really. Their help, esp early on, in helping me shape the world, means that this fic is what it is now.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Look, the story that's on hiatus may never be finished. And hey, that's okay. I have a few that I've got outlines for, that may never get past that. I'm a slow writer, I always have been. I really dont want to let anything else get rolling until CW is done anyways.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Look I'm going to be honest, I have no fucking idea. I will say I think I'm pretty good at characterization, and I usually feel confident in my choices for the character--in a 'yes they would do this given the situation' and a 'yes they would say that'. Given it's an AU I get more wiggle room, but I feel really strongly about Steve and Eddie's characterization, and I know that not everyone feels the same way I do regarding them--but I'm confident in my character choices in the story. [This goes for my other stories as well but--]

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I hate writing action. I suck at it, and I try to avoid it, despite evidence to the contrary. Trying to keep track of all the balls in the air is just annoying as hell. Also despite this fic having a real overarching plot, I have really wanted to keep it 'vibes' based more than plot, cause things get to plot heavy and I start to worry I'm a bore. It's where my insecurities start to sneak in, which lets my writing to become a lot weaker in turn.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Note: all my statements are assuming you aren't fluent in the language you are trying to write in, and you're a native English speaker. Maybe a word or two is okay? But unless you're fluent, you're gonna make it sound weird. If a character is speaking in German, just say they are speaking in German. Unless it is absoLUTELY important to the narrative that the phrase be in a foreign language, in the fic--do the work to make sure it's correct. Get a native speaker to check it, put in the translation somewhere. But again, ask yourself once, twice, three times if it's necessary.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I didn't consider it fanfic at the time but I absolutely wrote a 'fix it' chapter for the end of The Great Gatsby for class once lol. That was the beginning.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

This one. Again, I know it's niche, but CW is such a labor of love, and means so much to me. It's not perfect, I'm slow going because of school and work, but I've never felt so secure in my own work and felt such joy when I'm working on it.

About Eddie: I think the Duffers had no intention at all to do anything further with Eddie, he would remain as dead as idk Alexei. But, but! Now they must have realised how huge he is, how much merch he's selling and why wouldn't Netflix want to capitalise on that? They're a business, not there to produce the utmost art. And Eddie brings money, just looking at the amount of Hellfire tees you can see. Sooo that gives me hope.

Again, the Duffers weren't thinking about this and are probably against it? Some people have said that Eddie is there so that they can kill Steve without killing Steve, and get that trauma for Dustin like "ohh how will he deal if he loses someone that close" which wouldn't work if Eddie came back. But hey, they can still do Dustin angst if Eddie "comes back wrong" or simply about the fact that he left the guy for dead and never came back to him.

Some people are like "but it would be so difficult to come back! He's wanted and he has no place to go!". Look, I've fixed Eddie's charges like two or three times in 1k-2k oneshots, and I'm sure there's many others out there. I'm sure Netflix execs and the Duffers have internet too. They can read if they don't know.

Or maybe they'll be like a shadow on the series finale and it'll be Eddie because there is a spin off about him and the plot is "how is he alive??" But Eddie would come back in some capacity.

Probably I am being too optimistic and Eddie is just another death like the previous ones. Apparently, you have to be there from season one to come back from the dead.

TL; Dr I think the Duffers had no intention of bringing him back but seeing how he's blown up may make them reconsider. So yes I'm a clown 🤡 who still has a bit of hope. Thanks for asking and sorry for the rant!! Anyone else share your opinions tooo
