What are the major details that confused you about the Hound blurb? The major one that stood put to me was the "way of the farmer opposed to the sword" thing which felt very...un-Cú Chulainn. Also, if you don't mind expanding further, which details didn't you question/be confused by?

okay so it is like. 2am so there are not going to be any sources here but i can't sleep so here goes!! i will go through this blurb line by line and give youse my thoughts

In 50 BCE,

reasonable. this is roughly the right time period for when the ulster cycle is set. maybe marginally earlier than i'd place cú chulainn, but i'm talking a few years, nothing to get worked up about.

Morrigan, the goddess of war,

fine. normally i'm wary of pantheonising impulses with regard to irish characters (almost none of them can be identified as a god of anything in particular, it doesn't work like that) but tbh the morrigan is like, the most plausible exception to that, so whatever. normally her name has the definite article attached to it because it's kind of a species term as well but whatevs.

has become restless as a long-lasting peace settles over Ireland.

dubious. closest i can think of to peace being reference in any texts is togail bruidne da derga talking about conaire mor's reign being like, prosperous and peaceful and whatever, and even there you've got díberg (plundering/reaving) which is what eventually fucks him over and starts the otherworldly hell spiral situation. that's roughly the right period here but conaire's doom proves you don't have to do much to nudge peace into war, and connacht and ulster are at each other's throats for years before cú chulainn comes on the scene anyway

Deciding the time of peace must end, she chooses Setanta, the nephew of the king of the north, to become her ward.

hmm. i mean. like, this isn't the WEIRDEST choice they could have made. it's still completely made-up, don't get me wrong -- cú chulainn has a lot of different foster parents in different texts and they don't agree with each other but none of them ever mentions the morrígan. but like, they do have a connection of some sort, as evidenced by their conversations. and there's that one moment in the r1 boyhood deeds where little cú chulainn is out on the battlefield and hears her (not sure which name is used here) calling out to him and it like. motivates him to do some deeds or whatever, and i guess you could extrapolate that into some kind of teaching capacity.

so like. could be weirder. if you're gonna pick anyone, you could do worse. still seems weird to me! but not on its own a major issue, i could get past this and consider it a Fun But Unorthodox Creative Decision

(the fact that she tries to seduce him in the táin probably wouldn't get in the way of this considering sleeping with his teachers/foster-mothers is far from unheard of where cú chulainn is concerned)

weird spelling choices, they could have at least bothered to use the genitive properly. also the hound isn't a demon, it's a ferocious watchdog -- making it sound all Otherworldly and Hellish like this kinda confuses the issue of why he would need to take its place. he needs to take its place because the cattle and people still need protecting because it is a watchdog!! but whatevs, again, it's a brief summary so they can't exactly give us all the details and this is not actively objectionable

As Cú Cullan grows older, it is apparent that an extraordinary power lies within him … and a great darkness.

ugh boring. this makes it sound like he's going to be ~tortured~ and angsty about it. give me an unapologetic murder teen please. is the ríastrad dark? sure i guess, if you're going to be boring about it. it's more like, grotesque neon in my head

When he chooses the quiet life of a farmer over the sword,

this would fucking never happen on like five different levels. obviously like anyone who has ever read anything about cú chulainn can see that this is not in his nature. he is never going to choose a quiet life. this is the kid who tricked his way into taking arms before everyone thought he was ready. also juxtaposed with the "darkness" comment makes it sound like he would Angst his way into this quiet life which. again. have you seen this kid. he is an unapologetic murder teen

the only thing i can think of that might make him temporarily want to walk away is connla's death which... depends where you position that in the timeline really, he does seem a bit fucked up by it and maybe he'd want a holiday although i can see that lasting precisely 5 minutes before someone pissed him off enough for him to murder them. but if he's being raised by the morrígan i can't see him going to train with scáthach so then he'd never meet aífe and therefore connla would never be born so that wouldn't happen. so like. whatever.

but also like. he would not become a farmer. he just wouldn't! it doesn't work! the ireland of the stories is super hierarchical, right? and this blurb has already fucking told us that he's the king's nephew (canon) so we can tell that being a farmer is Not His Place. when we see upper class figures becoming menial labourers in texts, like in cath maige tuired, it's because Things Are Fucked, Shit's Gone Wrong. people don't just decide to change their entire social class on a whim lmfao

if cú chulainn really wanted to turn his back on being a warrior he could probably make recourse to certain other Suitable Professions ... his grandad's a druid so he might have a route into that, though his dad's not so that might fuck things up a bit bc it's one of those things that's usually inherited. he does give "wisdom" in at least one text though and we also know he can write (he carves riddles in ogham in the táin) and he composes verses on various occasions so idk, maybe something in a poetic direction, though again, usually requires two generations of inheritance to be a real poet and not just a lower-class bard. warrior's kinda the main thing he's got open to him tbh. but farming? i'm not a legal expert but as far as i'm aware based on what i have read, that would fuck shit up

more likely an upset cú chulainn would just go off in search of an adventure somewhere conveniently far away until he'd calmed down (alba, or the tyrrhenian sea, or -- if we're going to get early modern about it -- somewhere like india, which frequently gets thrown into the texts with absolutely no cultural context and it's always hilarious)

Morrigan, angry at the betrayal,

of the entire social order, yes,

instigates an invasion of his homeland

i mean. if they intend this to be the táin then.... táin bó regamna does kinda make the morrígan responsible for it? not in the sense of triggering the pillow talk argument that it's in the book of leinster -- it's her getting up to her usual cow-nicking behaviours for shits and giggles. [note to readers: it is probably for more than shits and giggles but did i mention it's 2am]

but all in all, not particularly out of character that she would be at least some way responsible for this so i can vibe with this. echtra nerai also supports the TBR explanation with her fucking around with otherworldly cows and pissing people off so, yeah, whatever. the morrígan engineered this. sure.

and Cú Cullan must challenge fate itself

this is probably a controversial stance but fate feels like a difficult concept to apply to medieval irish texts. like are people sometimes Doomed? yes. there are prophecies, there are gessi, there's all manner of otherworldly fuckery that can trip you up. is that the same thing as fate? no idea. considering cú chulainn comes out alive from the táin though and his doom prophecies don't catch up to him for like, at least another decade, maybe 16 years depending on who you listen to, hard to see how that would apply here

to keep the goddess at bay.

again like she IS causing fuckery in the táin but also it's like... one time. really not the main character. but she or maybe just some crows, hard to say, do get implicated in the death tale so maybe they're doing what people often do and conflating the two? even though there's like 10-16 years in between them?

anyway as you can see i don’t think it’s wholly terrible / i’m not completely thinkshaming it. like, having cú chulainn raised by the morrígan is unorthodox but it could be a fun and creative direction so i don't object to it. making cú chulainn get sad about murder and choose to be a farmer is just fucking laughable tho, and makes me doubt their characterisations in general. so that's offputting and would probably make me think twice about buying it, if that had ever been on the cards.*

and of course sure, their cú chulainn can be a Sad Boy Who Likes Sheep, but that means he's not the cú chulainn of medieval irish lit / irish myth, because that cú chulainn is a feral murder teen who keeps killing his friends and also is way too high social status to ever be a farmer, and whose only relationship to livestock is as the watchdog who kills anyone trying to harm them (which is an important role on a farm! but like. not the same thing as Being A Farmer. mostly because it involves more murder and is essentially just an extension of his role as a warrior. or rather the other way around. he promises to protect mag muirthemne as a watchdog and this like. gets extended into him becoming its sole defender)

this has been my analysis of this blurb i hope you enjoyed it

*as i mentioned in the tags of my other post, i don't tend to read graphic novels due to disability stuff. they're much harder for me to understand and follow than prose, to the point where some are incomprehensible, so i don't really enjoy them. there are a few i've read, but they tend to be short ones, and i'm usually not reading them in order, just admiring the art separately from the text. so it's unlikely i would read a graphic novel of this size anyway.

The Black ant Arc with Eric O’Grady if it was actually more about identity issues and coping with the idea of being a man whose also dead / if you’re actually him or not things like that….. uhmmmm everything about husk and chamber in Gen X would have been way better if condensed down into a story about two teenagers who impulsively get together for their own selfish reasons but realise its not healthy or good for either so break up and remain friends…. Uhm uhm uhm Lightray having depression and major trauma issues would be REALLY good to see if actually written competently….. Gus Yale and Count Vertigo's endings to coping with their bipolar disorder not being literally fucking ableist!!!!!!!!! Also Bronze tiger's arc of self hatred and low self esteem actually being resolved in a more kind and thoughtful way to him and not bordering on being LITERALLY racist…….

That I’ve ever officially picked up , excluding trials ? I think strangest in terms of deviating from my normal muse would be Luke Bowen , but even he falls into several of my normal tropes. Yaha-Kui might be next just because they’re...so oblivious to the simplest things like even chairs bc its a new form , but they also follow my tropes so...

12. Does your descriptive writing change with each muse, do they influence the way that you narrate and use language?

I think it does. At least to some degree it does. Speech at the very least is certainly something that changes among some of them. I try to thin that the descriptive does too. I know it typically does when I start writing the muse but i don’t know if it really sticks. Some muses are certainly more simile / metaphor heavy than others. Like Yukari ? Lots of metaphors or symbolism. Nagare ? Next to none really. Like Yukari would describe a cold touch like winter’s embrace. Nagare ? He’d have me just write that its cold lmao.

14. What is your opinion on formatting, editing and icons within the community? How do you style your own, do they differ from muse to muse?

I mean , do whatever you want to do. But the super subscript formatting , that I definitely dislike. Hello I’d like to read , please and thank you. Also dislike the 20x20 icons. I’m not kidding , I’ve seen them. I like icons , especially anime icons ( i tend to use them before anything else ) but idc if people use them or don’t. Tbh I’m debating keeping the double space or just...not. It’s second nature to me now so I don’t think about it but idk if it’s problematic for some ; if they like it or nah. My icons definitely differ from muse to muse. None of them have the same psd or design. They’re not even slight changes , its quite different. My OnS muses are probably the most similar. That or my Obey Me since i use Solomon’s seal for his , and then Barbatos’s seal for his. I try to keep around the same size though.

19.What kind of writing partners do you tend to merge well with? Do you like people who communicate, or more impulsive personalities?

Uhhhh idk ? I like people who talk with me ooc , i feel a lot closer and thus more relaxed and confident around them. But i’ll write with anyone. Does impulsive mean just surprise interactions ? I like those to. I feel stupid that I feel I’m not grasping this question right. Uuuhh people that are very plotting heavy I don’t tend to mesh as well with. Esp if its needed first interaction wise. Idk how to plot man. Like its one thing to toss ideas around like ‘ could you imagine if ____ ‘ or ‘ imagine them doing _____ ‘ and tossing some writing ideas back and forth. That i actually do enjoy and have fun with , it’s how basically any of the few au verses i have are created. But full on fleshed out plots ? Nah. I’m less inclined to write bc then I KNOW exactly what’s going to happen every single step and that takes some of the fun out of it.

Today has been a very stressful day, so guess wtf time it is? Drunk Breaking Dawn Pt. 1. Here is what I soberly remember of the movie (I have not watched it since BD2 came out):

1. There’s a wedding.

2. There’s a honeymoon.

3. There’s swimming in the ocean.

4. There’s an accidental pregnancy.

5. The baby almost kills Bella.

6. The canon incident that we all hate happens.

A brief intro statement, I was 100% sober and just beginning to drink at the beginning of the Eclipse post and progressively got more drunk. For BD1, I’m throwing back before I even start watching this shit show.

- I love the effects of the intro. it’s very calming. THe putting away childish things quote is literally a Bible verse. I hate that Stpehen appropriated Quileute culture, Christian culture, and every culture. I know she’s mormon but sitll. THis shit feels real appropriated.

@1000liveslived --- so i know i was later than most people to hop onto the ‘holy shit jess is literally one of the most incredible humans’ bandwagon but i’m here. and i have my little conductors hat. and we gon fuck some shit up with love alright? but you know i love you. let’s talk about how much i love emma. emma is realistic. and dynamic. and she breaks your god damn heart as much as she makes it soar. emma, to me, feels like the kind of character that could exist in real life. she has flaws, she has strength, she has this lingering air of reality about her that not many people can bring to an oc. and tbh all of your ocs are like that and i love them all so much. they’re such unique characters and i love them more than anything.

@beaniesandmachetes --- ok so i know you’re technically not on jake as much anymore but tbh this is the blog where i first fell in love with everything about your blogs. for starters, your writing is to die for, writing with you has always been one of my favorite things. i love all the little details you put into jake and how you make him stand out among other ocs and other blogs that use jared as a fc. and while we’re at it, let’s talk about jared as a fc bc like honestly once in awhile an oc will come along where the fc is honestly just PERFECT and it makes the character and drives everything and tbh i can’t imagine jake with any other fc. jared is perfect. every last minute detail ( which i’m sure you’ve thought through bc you’re just that attuned to your characters and i love it ) is perfection. seriously i am deathly terrified of zombies but like your blog would make me try and watch twd again. which is a big thing, ok? bc i’m literally terrified of zombies.

@bloodmirrored --- icb i’m literally mentioning you on all of these ffs everyone’s gonna know i’m trash for you. but you have 800 blogs and i can’t tag them all so i’m just gonna tag this one especially and give @reapcriisms a shout out bc fuck man i love aleksei but ok anyway let’s talk about the sweetmeadows: bc i. love. them. so. freaking. much. you’ve made such a wonderful, organic, and believable contrast between the twins. where i don’t think they could exist in a verse where the other one doesn’t. as stand alone characters, they’re phenomenal, but when you put them together it’s like this magic just happens and you get to this whole other level of understanding and quality and overall perfection and i’ve told you before and i’ll tell you again that you honestly do develop some of the best ocs i’ve seen. like you have 800 of them.

@cordeliakomskaikru / @rainkilled --- le sigh. i’m mentioning both of them under one little paragraph bc i don’t wanna seem unfair but i feel like you should know by now that i could go on about your muses for 1800 days. seriously though. i’ve never met anyone who could have the kind of muse range that you do. like all of your muses, be them canon or oc, have different voices and mannerisms and none of them bleed together ( which tbh i feel like is super hard to do idk how you do this ) and i honestly forgot ( like legitimately ) that cordelia and peter weren’t “canon” like i got super confused when the trailer came out and i was like what an outrage where is cordelia i am going to riot oh shit wait she’s not technically in this show whatthefuck basically though, everytime i think i can’t love you more, you go and do something else that makes me love you more. just stop. my heart will explode. and i will die.

@dissolvedshadows --- throwback to those like 6 months where i did nothing but stalk your blog and constantly hover over the follow button and debate whether or not i should just go for it bc i was like ‘well shit if they don’t follow me back imma die’ BUT YOU DID AND HERE YOU ARE and skdjfsdkjlfh wow ok lets talk about caleb and ana. i am a sucker for characters who have two seemingly contrasting characteristics but somehow it works. like case in point, the thousand year old terrifying pretty much all powerful immortal demon who can’t figure out how to google things and ana the badass ‘could probably kill a man with boots and look fab doing it’ but who also i feel like just kinda needs someone to love her ( coughconnorcough ) and it takes someone with serious writing chops to pull that off, which --- hello, it’s you. it’s literally always gonna be you. i don’t think i’ll ever be able to accurately describe how much i adore you. but it’s a lot. a whole lot.

@grcdy --- !!!! JURASSIC WORLD OC !!!! like honestly i don’t know why the whole world doesn’t follow you for just that reason alone? which yes, would do you a total injustice bc you are so much more than just a jurassic world oc BUT YOU’RE A JURASSIC WORLD OC but ok, fangirling about your amazing oc making decisions aside, can we all please collectively appreciate bella? please? because girl is fuckin fantastic. like strong and smart and tough and incredible and badass and all around just a wonderful character that should have existed in the movie ( and now does, in my mind, thanks. ) and i just like, you guys. jurassic world. original character. plus great writing. plus and even better mun. plus just a great fucking character there are no drawbacks.

@keeperofhumanity --- i know you’re not as active on z anymore which tbh i think is a tragedy because of all of your characters ( which are all awesome ) z has always had such a soft spot in my heart. not only have you managed to make a character that is totally and completely badass without going over the top and in your face about it and making it hard to write with, but you’ve managed to weave in this incredibly soft and tender side of her. very few people can do that with the amount of finesse that you’ve managed to. and yes, no matter what blog you’re on you’re an incredible writer and an incredible human, but fucking hell ash you literally mined gold when it came to zandra. she’s incredible. like you.

@lead-pencilskirt --- emma aka the biggest sweetheart of an oc ever to be made aka the love of my life aka idk how you made her this amazing and how you yourself are this amazing but holy shit it’s like the holy grail of rp blogs. like writing with emma feels breezy. chemistry is natural, writing is fun, our threads are kinda just a nice break to be able to reply to. i love well developed ocs that feel like they could super easily just step out of the rp world and into the real world and we would never know the difference and emma i feel like fits that mold to a perfect t.

@motherbuilt --- and here we have another one of those oc’s where i have to literally remind myself that she’s not “canon” because she’s so canon it hurts. honestly i swear i don’t know how you do it or how you’ve made her this true to life and fit her in so well to the t100 universe but you’ve struck gold, okay? because lou feels like a part of that universe. she feels like she belongs with the other characters. and the whole idea of this scared kid who is gonna have a baby on the ground where they’re all probably gonna die? it’s freaking genius. plus lou herself is just all sorts of tough and badass and inspiring but also has this soft side and she’s so loyal and i love her to death. and i love all of our threads so freaking much.

@oddyssea --- okay but you literally took like one of my favorite tropes ( the bantery treasure hunting guy ) and made him better. and you gave him an accent. and you developed tf out of him to the point where i’ll be like psh nice try indiana jones but karter kane coulda done all that and looked better doing it ( which is hard to do, i mean we’re talking about young harrison ford here okay? ) but alright like, not only is karter an incredible oc but he’s one of those muses that i just love reading things for. i love all of your threads, even the ones that don’t even involve me in any way shape or form. you made an oc that’s fun to read and fun to write with and is just all around a great character. fuck man i could go on and on about how incredible he is and i probably will for the next billion years bc you’re stuck with me ( and care ) for at least that long

@peaceific --- when i first followed you i honestly had to like refrain myself from getting giddy everytime you expressed an interest in writing with me. because you have been and always will be one of THOSE blogs. like the blogs that just radiate in the quality vibe. everything about noah and your blog and your writing and theme and everything is so perfectly matched and formatted and organized, i envy it. and even beyond that, noah is a fucking incredible character. like the most original idea for a character i’ve seen in my time here. i can’t get enough of writing with you. i can’t get enough of talking to you. i just wish i could constantly force you to bask in that kind of love day in and day out until you were like ‘damn ok i get it we’re loved’

@roaming-agent --- my girl. caroline’s girl. literally like i feel like you me and lissa need to make some kind of charlie’s angels verse with these three bc that’s totally the vibe i get from them. honestly though i just really love taylor. there’s something about her that’s really innocent and sweet despite the fact that i am fully aware that she is a not so secret badass at heart. she feels so real, and i love the development you’ve done with her and how you’ve expertly woven her into frank and joe’s lives and stories and it just brings new life and new levels and new angles to everything. plus, you’re literally one of the best people to talk to and write with like you’re such a freaking sweetheart idek how to deal with it.

@scarredesmeralda --- alright so we haven’t written yet and we’ve only been following one another for a little bit but already i know i’m gonna love you. because not only do you have a great fucking oc who you’ve managed to adapt to so many different verses ( which is no easy feat, i know ) but you are just like the nicest person ever. you’re like a mama lion protecting her cubs and i love that you’re so bold about what you believe in, i love talking to you, i cannot wait to write with you and explore different verses and muse chemistry and just see how things go. i give you all of the applause because you deserve it.

@sterxid --- ok but will i ever flail enough about how much i adore you and your blog? probably not. but we’re gonna keep trying until you get sick of hearing it. the first time i fell in love with your blog, i fell in love with one of your promos and honestly it was so gorgeous and simplistic and i just had to follow you because i needed more of that kind of quality on my dash. and you did not disappoint. not even for one second. every edit you make has this raw, simplistic, but gorgeous quality that is so aesthetically appealing and it’s all backed by this fantastically developed and written character. i swear lik everything about your blog is so downright gorgeous that i don’t even know how to properly express how much i love it except to flail over you constantly. so that’s what i’m gonna do.

@wulfking --- the god damn love of my life. i’ve told you a lot about how incredible alex is but now i’m just gonna tell you again bc you definitely don’t hear it enough: alex is incredible. you have put so much thought not only into the character you’re writing but into the world around him, his species, his family, his background, his mannerisms that he could ( and should ) be a real canon character somewhere. only i feel like even that would do him a disservice because he is so beyond the constraints of any canon anywhere. you write alex with a kind of adoration and love and skill that i could never hope to have and that a lot of us i think could never really hope to have. you’re just a natural born creative mind and a talented writer and you inspire me on the daily.

is there a muse that you wish gets more attention?

well aside from my player characters, i’d love if my ocs lilli and elyssa got more love. being female ocs, i am aware that, you know, people have a thing against that. which is dumb. but lilli and ely are adorable and deserve attention. i mean ely doesn’t really care, she just likes school and sun and dancing, but lilli needs friends like air in modern verse and in her standard verse.

which muse is the trickiest to get into character for?

probably kraglin, which is why i’m pretty selective with him. we have so little of him in the movies to work with that defining his voice and characteristics is hard. also not many people play with him so he gets rusty and i lose his voice a lot. but i have a lot of feelings about him and who he is and his feelings that i can’t give him up. i just need to work on him a bit more to figure things out, and it usually takes me a few write throughs of a reply before posting it in order to get it the way i like it. and i usually like it in the end.

WHAT’S YOUR HONEST OPINION ABOUT YOUR MUSE?: I love him, but he’s such a pain sometimes. He’s complex and I find most aspects of Hancock interesting, but sometimes I wish he could just speak his mind, his life would be easier if he’d just articulate.

WOULD YOU DATE YOUR MUSE?: Not a chance lol I avoid getting involved with anyone who smokes or uses drugs or drinks too much, to start, but also he’s just too crazy for me on top of all that and I don’t think I’d be able to put up with how difficult he can be, honestly. He deserves love, but he’s not my type ha

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE KINDS OF THREADS?: I generally prefer plotted things, but I’m chill with just about anything. As for topic, I’m a sucker for angst aha I love just wrecking muses and tearing everything down because then you have opportunities for some nice fluff scenes.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE FANDOM?: I’ll answer this for Dragon Age since it’s a Fenris blog that tagged me lol I played through DA:I last year and had already created a DA verse for my Peter Parker muse with a couple friends I wrote with on kik then, a few months ago, I finally got the first two games and played through them and Inquisition again and decided to write out verses on my blogs and actually start poking people in the fandom since my best friend ( @implementofdestruction ) was already kicking around in here and could point me to friendly people.

DO YOU SEE YOURSELF STAYING WITH THE FANDOM FOR A LONG TIME?: I’d like to lol I’ve enjoyed it so far and I feel like there’s a lot more history and lore to play with in the DA fandom that keeps things interesting and fun and this verse is most of what’s keeping this blog going lately ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BASICS. FULL NAME : Marguerite Antoinette Giry NICKNAME : Meg AGE : 18 - 28 (whatever age you want to thread with, just specify)! BIRTHDAY : May 31st ETHNIC GROUP : Caucasian. NATIONALITY : French. LANGUAGE / S : French, English. SEXUAL ORIENTATION : Due to the era Meg was born into, Meg feels as if she must identify as a heterosexual, but has had relations with other females—she just doesn’t know what to call it since ‘bisexual’ isn’t a word in her era; for the sake of this survey, Meg is a demisexual bisexual. PHYSICAL. HAIR : Meg’s natural hair colour is blonde. It is incredibly fair, almost as if she has bleached it and it only gets fairer in the sun. It falls in curls down her back and across her shoulders and if she tries to brush them when they’re dry then she has one hell of a frizz show to contend with. However, when she’s working, especially in her main verse, Meg wears a wig somewhat to try and conserve some of her dignity, although she’s not as convinced any more that it works as well as it used to. Either hair colour suits her as they perfectly contrast against her eye and skin colours, catching her natural beauty perfectly. EYES : Meg’s eyes are a light blue in colour; they grow a deeper blue when she’s upset, the red rings after tears making the colour of her eyes that more prominent. Nevertheless, her eyes are soft and if the saying that eyes were the window to the soul is true, then Meg is the walking definition. Despite her attempts at keeping herself as neutral as she can, her emotions are always given away by her eyes although she’ll forever deny it. NOSE : Petite. It has a natural arch and the tip of her nose curves softly downwards as you would expect. FACE : Her face is very much a heart shape. Her jawline is quite prominent, but softened like the rest of her features. Meg isn’t one to give something away easily, her emotions are reserved only for her and any close friends she may have, but even then it can be incredibly difficult to gauge how she feels at any given moment. It takes a lot to break through that, especially the emotional side, but she will laugh and respond accordingly to each moment. USUAL CLOTHING : What you’d expect of a late Victorian, early Edwardian. Usually corseted, Meg’s dresses are extremely plain, although she does have one or two reserved for special occasions if they every arise. Already good with a needle, Meg has become an expert at dress maintenance since she does not have the money to simply purchase a new dress should it break. One of those cliché films where Meg is struggling to reach her dreams, but it ends on a positive note where she defies her odds and achieves a place in a ballet company. There is something about their music that really does connect and almost explain Meg.Imagine Dragons are also very much an inspiration for writing Meg. Q3 : why did you start writing this character ? A3 : Tbh when I watched Love Never Dies for the first time. Fair enough, everyone hates it and it’s not considered canon, blah blah blah. And I’m not saying I consider it canon either, but I was so happy to see Meg actually have a story of some sort? Like, whatever your opinion of the character development, I was just attracted of the possibility to discover her character more through RP because there is so much to explore! I don’t agree for a second that Meg loved the Phantom, that’s where I find the story to be somewhat disagreeable, but Meg’s character in LND is just wonderfully complex and she’s so exciting to write! honestly, the whole concept of wonderland is fucked up. considering that everyone who goes to wonderland is TRAPPED there forever, it’s rly v sad to me ?? & i don’t rly consider is to be a nice place. i think it’s v BRIGHT & COLORFUL, yes, & that’s bc all the wonderlanders made it that way, but if left in its natural state, wonderland is v grey & gloomy. so if i could change something abt the hatter’s main canon verse, i’d have her ( along with all the other wonderlanders ) punish the queen ( & possibly the rabbit ) & somehow harness any magic which the queen has into getting out of wonderland. then everyone could go back to the real world with alice & i’d go ahead & pair off the hatter either with alice or the march hare ( if it’s @inlookingglass‘s version of the march hare ) & then everyone would be happy & not trapped in some kind of grey purgatory.

but there’s a lot of stuff i’d change. a lot of my other changes r kind of SNOWBALL changes, tho, & would lead to drastically different events & this said ONE CHANGE, so…

this is rough, bc as i’ve said, the hatter was rly only written as a comedic character. & also to serve as the Bad Guy™ which is… rly bizarre to me but whatever. um. there’s not rly a whole lot of things i’d like abt her, bc a lot of her comedic stuff comes from her failure at everything. she fucks everything up & i already fuck up enough stuff on my own, u feel ?? i guess i’d have to say that she’s v giving, bc she loves giving jam tarts to others. & tea. so i’d like it if i were more giving too ?? idk. this is also kind of one of her flaws, tho, so.

…actually, she has a rly great voice. i think i’d take her voice. all three actresses have incredible voices & while the voiceclaim for my hatter is nat mcqueen’s, i’d take anyone’s. my own voice is pathetic so.

in case u haven’t noticed, i’m angsty. i love angst. i don’t write happy things. & i don’t wanna write happy things. have you ever seen me not writing angst ?? that’s angsty.

ok but real talk this blog is actually p lighthearted & cheerful. & honestly, that’s bc the hatter’s outlook on everything is p cheerful. it’s actually hella dark while she’s in the real world, but i’ve mostly had interactions taking place in wonderland, where she’s considerably happier than in the real world or at her travel agency, where she’s v professional & Keeps Her Problems To Herself. i’d love to do more featuring my v sad baby, tho.

as to what would break her heart the most… i think if she were left completely alone ?? she cannot be alone. she will EXPLODE if she’s alone. friends r v important to her & if everyone dipped out solely bc they couldn’t stand her... she would Die. also she’s p selfish & requires a lot of attention & if she doesn’t receive it she will Whine. also she needs cuddles & a lot of constant petting & she just needs... ppl... tbh.

a big reason she’s so fucked up in her modern verse is bc she’s literally alone & she... can’t rly get her shit together.

i don’t... rly hate anything abt her ? she’s got a lot of less than desirable qualities, but none of them rly make me HATE her. i wish she’d think more & realize that there r consequences to actions, but... she wouldn’t be herself if she didn’t fuck up a lot.

what i’d say i hate the most is that she has to fuck up & make the same mistake like 10 times before she finally gets a hint. but i don’t rly hate her bc of that ?? bc like same ??

above all, it’s that even within wonderland the hatter is singled out. all the wonderlanders r quite odd, yet they still call the hatter bonkers. she has one line, where ellie asks her if she was listening to what ellie was saying & the hatter replies by saying that yes, she was, but she’s MAD so who knows what she made of it ? it makes me feel as if the other wonderlanders regularly tell her that what she thinks doesn’t matter or make sense ? it also bugs me that the march hare says that only someone completely bonkers would go thru the looking glass. also, the queen says that the hatter isn’t capable of bright ideas bc she’s a lunatic. & honestly, i don’t even think it upsets the hatter that much. she freely admits that she’s bonkers & mad. in fact, she introduces herself to ellie as the mad hatter instead of just the hatter & says that the clue’s in her name. i think she’s accepted it & she brushes off her own thoughts & feelings just bc her thought process is “i’m crazy, so anything i think is Wrong” & i just ????

honestly, tho alice’s got issues, i like that she just calls the hatter… the hatter. she does refer to her as a crazy lady at one point, but overall, she seems to be one of the least icky ppl ? & alice definitely gets her shit together throughout the course of the musical, as opposed to jack & ellie who… while having repressed feelings brought out, did honestly not improve by going through the looking glass.

but. anyway. the hatter gets a lot of shit from all the other wonderlanders & lmao, if i was treated like that i’d probably go on a power trip too & attempt to work everyone to death.

Ezekiel is one of those characters where its very hard to have a boring rp bc he just does so much shit, so like no matter who i rp him with, its bound to be amazing. ALTHOUGH I DO NEED TO MAKE HIM INTERACT WITH MORE PEOPLE TBH!!! the only problem i have when writing him sometimes is actually making him talk to new people, bc of his extreme shut-in attitude and whatnot, so he literally just never starts conversations with anyone he barely knows.

Q1. if you could write your character your way in their own movie, what would it be called, what style would it be filmed in, and what would it be about? A1. I would love to either see her in her canon setting, following what it would have potentially been like for a female medic if they would have been allowed in the US Army. Or like something where she’s the leader of like a biker gang or something, all in leather and looking fierce af.

Q2. what would their soundtrack / score sound like? A2. Similar to the Pacific Rim soundtrack probably, or TRON Legacy-vibes

Q3. why did you start writing this character? A3. I had just rewatched Band Of Brothers and was home alone just hanging out for a week and I came up with a very basic character idea what I started working on and then made a blog for. Claire has obviously changed A LOT since then, but her basic version was a Band Of Brothers that pretty much right away turned fandomless, because I preferred that idea.

Q4. what first attracted you to this character? A4. So many things... I love the idea of women in WWII and doing more than what they did, and I just wanted to explore writing a character that was one out of very few women doing something that has always been very male-oriented.

Q5. describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse. A5. Oh man... She’s just so crazy reckless and just won’t care about her own life or safety, if it means she can save someone else.

Q6. what do you have in common with your muse? A6. Not that much, I don’t think. I mean, when I started out we had nothing except our gender in common, but writing her has kinda made me grow and I’m a lot more outspoken and stuff than I used to be? I also won’t stop talking about fighting people so... there’s that too.

Q7. how does your muse feel about you? A7. She probably hates me, let’s be real here.

Q8. what characters does your muse have interesting interactions with? A8. I’ve loved all her interactions with Mick in the past, they’re so amazing. But right now, @hxllbilly and Claire are being two of my faves, and I’m really loving what I’ve either done or planned with @imhohenschloss . But tbh, I love most of the things I’ve done so far and I feel like most things are interesting, even though I do have my favourite threads.

Q9. what gives you the inspiration to write your muse? A9. So many things, but war movies and shows always sparks some muse. Same does music and just a lot of things. She’s one of my strongest muses, tbh.
