Basically my entry to @chaos-bites 's Subtle Worship series for Norse Gods
I made this in hopes of taking some of the stress of it from Stag's shoulders (and I got the go-ahead too)
eat in-season produce
take your medication safely and on time
learn more about how fruits and vegetables grow
grow a plant, ideally one that produces a fruit or vegetable, but a low effort one like a succulent works too
eat mindfully
partake in a creative hobby (think knitting, drawing, etc) that brings you joy
learn your limits and honor them
do a chore that desperately needs doing to improve your quality of life (dust with a mask if you have a dust allergy, clean out your fridge so you don't get sick from spoiled food, etc)
support environment preservation and restoration groups
clean up litter
be mindful of what you buy and throw away
exercise! doesn’t have to be a full complicated routine, just something that gets you moving and enjoy - and if you can’t enjoy it, something you can at least bear
spend some time outside - and put on sunscreen while you’re at it!
take care of yourself: shower if you haven’t in a while, brush your teeth if you haven’t today, and so forth
learn more about your local ecosystem
share an apple with her
start your own fruit and/or vegetable garden and give part of the harvest to loved ones
contribute to a community garden
make a homemade apple pie and give her a slice
give her an glass of water and ice to refresh her after a long day in the orchard
help a loved one with yardwork
I'll probably add onto this list later - I know I haven't gotten everything she'd like. Or, heck, y'all can add onto it too! I'm curious to see what else y'all would offer her.
Sometimes I think to myself, how the norse Faith it something so "alive" for me. It's not like someone could really tell me "That isn't how they done it" - and maybe if, who cares?
Its a faith, that feels so free! And sometimes feel like it gives me the freedom to be modern (when I want).
Like, you can't tell me
...that that badass, all in black, chick on her motorbike, who volunters at woman shelters and can outcus and outdrink every man in a thousend mile radius, isn't Freya.
...that this hopeful cheerful girl with the flower dress, who everyone after meeting feels refreshed and more ready to face the daily challenges again, isn't Idun.
....that this young long hair men, who grows organic food on the rooftops of buildings and working for wild animal rescue, isn't Frey.
...that this sweet lady, who always have something nice for the kids and a hopeful world for everyone in need, but that nobody quiet know where she lives, isn't Frigg.
...that this random old veteran, everyone knows and don't knows on the same time, that sits in his spot and gave random advice of wisdom (even if they sometimes don't made sense at the moment) isn't Odin.
...that the guy with the gitare in the metro, sharing his self written songs, completly absorbed from this music, isn't Bragi.
...that this masked, fun coloured hair, guy, who goes a bit over board in his revolution for the old Ice cream shop down the street, that the city wants to close; isn't Loki.
...that this popular looking guy, who will give the bully a swing before a word, who stares the creep down in the club, when he is pestering other people, isn't Thor.
...that the young goth girl on the cementary, putting down roses on long forgotten, lonley graves, isn't Hel.
Sometimes they feel as ancient as modern. They feel like they right beside us, and I love this feeling.
Kolla den här lilla älsklingen som nästan somnar utav mag-kliandet. Själv har jag precis kommit hem och är vrålhungrig..men vi kliar vidare en stund haha <3
Idun
The goddess of spring or rejuvenation and the wife of Bragi, the god of poetry. She was the keeper of the magic apples of immortality, which the gods must eat to preserve their youth.
I feel like the Norse goddesses are under reprecented in art so a while back ago I made this with all of them in one big drawing. Known and lesser know.
(I split the up the drawing because pepole have been steeling this one before.)
