i just think like. there's no fucking way suna DIDN'T have a breakdown his first year at inarizaki. because he was a fifteen-year-old kid who left everything he was raised with just to chase a dream he wasn't sure would come true, but he thought it was the best chance he'd ever get so why the fuck not. and maybe he's making too big a deal of it, because suna chose this, he has to carry this responsibility, it's what he wanted - but suna didn't come to make friends, he came to play, and if he didn't play well then what the fuck was he even doing there? what was he worth? so he pushes and pushes until he's miserable and missing family and he doesn't even know what the fuck home is supposed to look like anymore because suna thought he'd be fine at inarizaki, it was supposed to be everything he ever wanted. and even though it's the same sun and moon and sky as it was back in his town, there is nothing but an emptiness yawning far and wide in his chest that leaves him lost and aching.

he wonders if he's made a mistake.

(he'll change his mind, later, when ginjima is the first to break down his walls. when kita gives him a smile that understands without having to ask. when the twins and kosaku step in front of suna to snap at the students who jeer at the outsider. when oomimi makes tea for him the days he dreams about the dark swallowing him whole. when akagi asks suna to run errands together so that suna knows all the shops. when aran ruffles his hair the way he does the others and it makes suna feels like he's one of them. and it doesn't hurt so much, in this little space against a mountain that they have carved for him. it doesn't hurt because suna has realized that he does have a home, and fuck anyone who tells him he doesn't have a family inside it because, hey, what are teammates for?)

actually the problem i have with the haikyuu!! criticism that is "it's not realistic that a team like karasuno could win and they shouldn't have" isn't just about the classism take (altho y'all already know that i DO believe in that wholeheartedly) it's that it just makes it look like people don't see it as a STORY y'know??? like it's not about the realism or the logistics it's about the FEELINGS it evokes in you it's about the poetry of hinata winning against giants and kageyama winning against his grief and them winning TOGETHER against all the odds stacked against them!! like. we as the audience are fed that idea from the very start!! we KNOW that it seems impossible!! we KNOW that karasuno is the unlikely underdog!! we KNOW that every time they win it's absolutely unbelievable to everyone else in the series!! AND THAT'S THE POINT!! all the other characters already think that there's no way in hell this less wealthy country-bumpkin team could ever take down the big guns!! but they do!! and it's not just because they worked hard and put their all into training it's because furudate wanted to write a story of overcoming obstacles and pursuing your passions it's because kageyama and hinata exist to show people that you CAN succeed in the face of hurt and anger and disappointment like come ON we all know that if it was serious about the realism then the story would just get lost along the way and we wouldn't have an ending even HALF as good as what we have now

haikyuu was NEVER about winning or logistics or if a play could have been realistically executed but it DEFINITELY was about teaching people something and THAT'S what we should be looking at

i think tsukishima is a clingy bastard actually and just shows it in REALLY weird ways. like. he's always hovering RIGHT behind yamaguchi close enough that there's like an inch of space between them, but god FORBID he hugs someone or lays his head on their shoulders or wraps an arm around them. hinata and kageyama are out sick (yes at the same time) and tsukki's grumbling about how it's a little too quiet without their squabbling but when they come back he's like "HMPH only idiots catch colds". he doesn't take his eyes off yachi when they're in crowded areas bc "she's too fucking short if we lost her it'd be a pain" but really he gets restless if she's not in his line of sight. idk man just tsukishima kei showing he cares in all the little ways

I put my Spotify on shuffle to give me a song, and it came up with Luna by the Smashing Pumpkins which is a favourite song for Lewis Nixon/Dick Winters, and specifically, Nix > Winters. It's highly romantic and yet bittersweet and helpless, a vibe of "I'll love you with my whole heart, I don't know if you can love me the same, but I don't care."

R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships

Oh man, people always ship something, don't they? And I know I have some ships on Ao3 that don't have other works (Perconte/Martin, Tab/Luz, Malarkey/More) but I'm fairly sure other people do ship them. OH WAIT. I know. DIANA ALLERS/KAIDAN ALENKO. From Mass Effect. I think these two work so brilliantly well together and wrote fics to that effect a decade ago. I'm still the only one to my knowledge (the orphaned fic on Ao3? That's me.) ME fans, talk to me.

OK SO. I believe that everyone is allowed their own headcanons and nobody should hold hard and fast to any headcanon to the detriment of other people in fandom, because we're all as valid as each other.

Having said that, you can prise bisexual Sonny Carisi (Law and Order: SVU) out of my cold dead hands.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged)

So one thing I'm super nervy about is writing OCs? And I know that there are so many amazing OC writers I follow here (@latibvles springs immediately to mind for instance). I have so many secret ficlets in my WIPs across multiple fandoms I don't post. One day, I might do this. I'm not sure where I am going with this. Anyway, the more I talk about having them, the closer I get to posting them, and so I'm rambling about it again now here. Fandoms relevant to this currently are Band of Brothers, Sharpe and The Terror (although this is an interesting variation - the OCs across canon era, and then modern era descendants of a FE that survives and comes home). Anyway. Whatever. I'm going to go read @mercurygray's Blind Dates OC fest too, bc that looked so fun recently, and produced so much great content from multiple people.

Re – Accusations of ‘Racist’ // - persistant breaking, entering, thieving and their plagerism!

An elderly West Indian man, who lived on Wensley Estate round the corner, broke into my home three times taking anything of value he could lay his hands on, over the past few years, the third time quite recently.

He is an old practiced thief, and went through my home with a fine tooth comb- took what I had bought whilst teaching at Chinese Universities. I feel sick about this, our wages there are extremely low, though we represent our country and bring students to study over here hence bringing thousands into the country – I have personally seen former chinese students of mine walking down the Moor.

The only perks we get are the things we can buy in China for ourselves and our families- at their prices. I had bought some silk robes for all member of my family, worth about £150-£200 each, which he took and sold to the local black ‘madams’, two traditional jackets, one for me, one for daughter (see pic) at about £400 each and a tiny silk tablecloth, featuring Chinese babies and even my good shoes. Amongst many other items stolen, Russian cards, Russian wood carved boxes for my grandsons, bought thirty years ago on the Sheffield-Donetsk twinning trips as I am a member of the Russia- England Friendship Group, and worst of all, sketch books filled with drawings of family, friends and our dogs-(see FANART _BERTODI REVIEW

half a dozen, unbelievably they steal TEACHING BOOKS too and even some new secateurs I had just bought!

Some one in the community told me he has a front room filled with stolen goods and spends his time flogging them.

My goods were stored in different drawers in my bedroom amongst ordinary every day items, so he must have gone through all my bedroom with a fine tooth comb. He stole many other items, some quite old, ofcourse as I am 66 years old intended for my grandsons, some even wrapped ready for the post. I take great care of things. They even stole really sentimental items from when I was a young wife, family photos and certificates given to me in China and religious items I bought at the Qingdao Catholic Church!

The sick part is that when the Russian put into place their Marshall Plan in 1945 in my country, we lost everything, family photos, even baby clothes, as we were allowed nothing but a handbag full of items. They are repeating what was done to us then, and the reasoning is the same, we had helped our Jewish friends back then, here I had taught voluntarily at the African Refugee Centre in Upton Park-

He tells the women he has been ‘given’ the items…by me, to cover that they are stolen goods and contraband.

I teach in the community to all races, so ofcourse word comes back to me. He also took all of my back up computer -CD’s and gave them to young rasta friends and other west Indians who use them for their own purposes to publish as their own work.

With all their past of Slavery which I learnt at University, I would have thought they could write their own history rather than steal ours, - I wanted some more Rap songs says one of the thieves who has published ten of them, not based on, but straight copies from my writers notebooks also stolen.

The CD’s have on them not only family photos, bank accounts, all letters, business forms but also all my poetry (hundreds) now gone and stories, MA examinations and literally hundreds of my paintings. These poems and stories have been used by these Sheffield black people as their own, one woman writer even wrote: I am a Croation till a friend told her not to be silly- MY grandmother was a Croation not hers. (Donna Williams) People have commented that none of these people are educated and cannot spell, so how come, but that is passed by---

Not enough that he robs my home when ever he feels like it, he has urged other young black men in the area to rob our home, which they have! As far as I know, six young men have come into my house, they took paintings from Art College including my exam pieces from Art History, all my University stories etc from my files amongst other things, ie a wood Zulu my ex husband brought back from South Africa as a present when he was working there! He told the person he sold it to, that it belonged to an old African woman!! They even stole the completed texts of 1000 poems I had written whilst away in America, ready for print, out of sealed boxes. They rampage the house at will-

Evidently , they use this work at school, passing it round their younger brothers (Firevale Black family) and college as their own work and for rap songs- I cannot believe it, all the songs they could write about, from the ‘Slaves Dream’

And all they do is rob an old East European refugee teacher!

Realising who he was, I gave ‘Wensley man’ hard stares when he strolls down our street as he liked to, on his way home from the bus. I am told that he told the Council he was being threatened so had to move, telling a friend: she’ll get the police onto me!

They moved him to Burngreave, so he came by for one last great robbery. A family friend of his told me that he gave my precious sketch books of family, friends and dogs to children visitors to play with!

When they moved him to Burngreave, I am told he told a friend: She won’t find me here!

Our front door is blocked, To break in they have to go down a passageway, through the gate and then two heavy doors, one of them an iron grid, so it is an act of wilful breaking and entering and theft!

He told a friend: I am a mental case, so they can’t touch me!

When Adam Kahn of Hinde House Lane broke in (seen by my then neighbour) and robbed a box full of story texts I was just editing to print, which I had written at Sheffield University writers group, Art college diaries poems, letters to my ex husband and poems, hidden below the computer table, I was loathe to fetch in the police as he was only 14 years old and did not want to give him a record, but spoke instead to the local headmistress and wrote to the local mosque to beg them to ask him to return them, even if he only puts them into the shed- I have since done the same again, with no success. He passed them on to his cousin in Darnell is all I have been told and they use them for school work!

I am ofcourse merely an old, white, woman teacher, with no husband to protect me, hence vulnerable to these louts criminal behaviour as was my 93 year old mother, who was robbed blind at that age, -even a double silk bedspread I brought her from china by the Yemeni daughter of her carer, who let herself in when mum was out- the amount they robbed was unbelievable, I know as it was my stuff mainly, I had to keep taking her items as they disappeared- She sold a double silk Chinese bedspread I brought back for mum to some middle eastern asylum seekers in the area who told her to get more stuff for her. I take it they do not understand that you should not encourage young people to steal in their country or what contraband is?

They even stole mum’s hankies. Poor mum in her old age, got a fettish for always having a hanky in every imaginable place so I bought her several boxes, all stolen, her dressing gown, underwear, but the worst was the beautiful bedspread, it cost about £600-750+. When they realised I was aware, they sent it to relatives in Yemen I was told. I did write and ask the Yemen community know and also the Mosque at Firvale- all I got was a letter saying Muslims should not do this sort of thing. Well, I know, no one should do that sort of thing, robbing a person of 93 is sick! Even my dad’s old pocket watches, all he left us besides his wedding ring!

New mobile phones, oh the list of stolen goods is endless of what has been stolen, crucifixes carved in China, Buddhist bracelets, presents from China during my trip there… my wedding ring even and my dead parents wedding rings, family photographs even! Which can never be replaced.—and this is unbelievable, even my working clothes, as I wear sports clothes in China in which to teach! Second hand from the market!! They say a white girl who is part of a group of black boys was asked to break in and take some stuff to cover for them always rampaging through the house, so she took a some stuff too- I don’t know if it true though or just a cover story .I was in Spain for a few days break recently and another load of stuff vanished, including a couple of sketch books

I am fed up of the abuse of this community, not counting when -walking down my street quietly and two young blacks saying to each other as they pass me: ugly old white cow! They even scrawled all over my Sunday pink church hat in biro! Then putting it back into its plastic bag. I make no secret of what is going on and let the Caribbean Centre know too, though it is dangerous to tell the police in this area as then you are likely to be targeted even more..

My house is on a monitor on St Barths Human Research so they can probably verify, but no doubt will refuse to do so.

I used to teach voluntarily at the African Refugee Centre in Upton Park in London, and here I collect pencils, etc for a Ugandan Junior School, so I really don’t think I deserve to be called a racist, when these black people have been using my house as a free shop for their criminal tendencies and telling lies to cover themselves.

When I called the police they merely said: We can’t listen to whispers.

But where is there a police station nowadays. It is impossible to find them- so these thieves know they are safe to do as they please, a car speeding by once in a while is hardly going to stop them.

Do they think the thieves will run up to them and tell them openly- :I broke into number 66, the old teacher and robbed anything which was worth anything even her university academic work and her creative work!

I did hear that the old West Indian told one young derivative West Indian nearby: if you look into the middle wardrobe you will find… so he ‘staggers’ his thieving!

I am told that these black boys refer to these as ‘’raiding parties’’

I intend to return to China to teach, but believe me, it is a different story I will be telling them this time. I have always presented a glowing picture of this country to try to persuade them to come here to spend their thousands, but this will no longer be the case.

the way that people in the year of our lord 2021 still automatically reduce being gay to depraved sex is so fucking funny. Why do you think Dean "wears the same underwear four days in a row" Winchester is a clean freak? All the instances I can think of are him rejecting outrageous ickiness (woman with herpes all over face, dead body fluids) or when he was mad at Sam for disrespecting his room by throwing trash on the floor.

Just for starters, but uh can I get a source on dean wearing the same underwear four days in a row? Needless to say, even if he did there’s a difference between wearing the same underwear out of necessity and not washing your ass? Lol who the hell are you?

You think a man that cleans things that meticulously wouldn’t do the same thing to his b-hole?

shitpost culture is so annoying. there's people out there putting tens of hours into fics and then the shit that actually gets thousands of notes is posts that just say cas or have a stupid meme in them. this isn't about fanart this time because thankfully they're doing fine. but what about the fics. why this demotivating culture. i don't think it was like this before the nov5/finale debacle, was it? i fucking hate it. so many of us do.

Oh nonny, I’m so here with you on this one. I mean, once in a while there’s a good “shitpost” with a funny headcanon or something. But most of them are just shit, birthed in a split second without even looking at the screen while typing. You know how angry I am that my own shitposts have like x10 more notes? Fics have average of 700 notes let’s say, poetry - 300, fan art - 1200. My top (excluding that heartbreaking Twitter reply about coming out and being stuck in the moment of “do they accept me / don’t they”) post has like 3,5 notes and ??? que?

I have 5 wips, each takes me dozens of hours to write, and I kinda want to never finish them, just not to face the lack of love? I have a few art project which I don’t finish with the same fear. I mean, with drabbles it’s easy not to expect 2k notes, it takes me let’s say 3 hours to finish one (mostly) with edits. But with bigger fics? Do you people even still need stories longer then 20 words and a speach bubble?

4. A character you rarely talk about?

Bunny.... I really like them, her personality and struggles are pretty relatable. I think I just don't like the design I gave him, and that really puts me off of a chatacter. Might end up redesigning him.

17. Any OC OTPs?

Well I'll tell you the two that are least likely to happen: Rouge x Theodore. Rouge x Lucifer.

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?

Ouh now this is a FUN one!

Rouge was a trained musical theatre performer in his youth, so I think David Staler would be a good headcanon voice. His favourite music is still soundtracks, he loves songs that tell a story.

Marcel is just fuckin good lol, and I think AURORA's voice would fit him pretty well. He doesn't exactly listen to songs, but if he were to, it would be heavy metal.

22. Is there any OC of yours people tend to mischaracterize? If yes, how?

I can't tell you how much I like this question, but I don't know...

24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?

Probably Theodore, I mean he's just fun to be around and I literally created him because I'm lonely and wished I could be someone so confident and sure of myself as he is.

25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)

Elliot is like a split image of me lol (except that he's taller, tho Theodore is the same height as me). He is trans and was emotionally abused as a kid, he feels as if his problems don't matter and prefers to keep them to himself eventhough he desperately needs to talk to someone. He has social anxiety and struggles with accepting the fact that he could possibly be loved by anyone. He likes writing songs and poetry but hates performing them like me, he's also an aspiring writer with tons of wips that will probably never be finished :'3

31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really)

Theodore is the one that actually has a tumblr blog (I'm thinking of actually making one for him... should I?) He'd mostly post design sketches, his progress on his projects, cooking recipes, the newest thing that got broken in his cheap apartment, alot of Franny's drawings because he's just a proud dad, the newest anime obsession, a character he's simping over, how hard it is to pass a video game boss and general venting. He'd mostly reblog animal pics, anything that has to do with the shows he likes, tons of gifs, FANART, other people's cooking adventures and parenting advice.

Aaaahhh YES I DO. Almost all of my ocs look androgynous because I just fucking love that look, I don't have a single oc with short hair bebecause I just really like long hair, alot of them have curly/fluffy hair along with plump lips and a sort of hourglass figure. And if I didn't worry about same face syndrome, all of them would have long faces.

48. OC who is a perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure

I don't have a single older oc like that because I don't exactly like that trope, but I have Fran who is just the light at the end of the tunnel, I love this dude, he's so smol and full of life and hope and excitement.

Ok I know this post is long and going to trigger some people, I hate dramas as almost everyone in this fandom but I'm honestly exhausted of finding a**holes around and I can't keep pretending nothing happens. I'm a polite person and I don't like to make names and point my finger at people, so let's keep this a general discourse.

So this happened between yesterday evening and this morning, I've posted this photo on my instagram stories this morning.

As I've already mentioned before, there's a bunch of people who hate Veronica Deacon (mind: this is not a simple "dislike her" for personal reasons/vibes, here's literally a movement of hate and canceling) and are adamant in spreading their hate towards her, intoxicating posts where she's mentioned or John's family role is mentioned, canceling her whenever there's a confirmed pic of her ("that's not her! That's *imaginary person never heard about*") mocking people for even liking her, let alone who enjoy John and Veronica together (I've been personally harassed on Facebook by some of these people) behaving very childishly despite their older age (also using the "I'm old so I know better" card to prove their points) and believing in absurd made-up "theories" on Wattpad that twist interviews, real facts and actually try to warp reality mostly with the function of "making Deac*ry real in real life". (Censoring the ships name just to not disturb sane shippers as I had already said once) For them every reliable source, included words by the direct interested, are lies to cover up these relationships. They use songs to "prove facts" when nothing is confirmed, pretending to be woke or smth I don't know really. Some time ago some idiot even told around that Veronica isn't the mother of John's kids, she used to abuse him and other stuff coming out of nowhere, but honestly that's an old discourse that thank the gods has been closed (because honestly even the dumbest people could sniff that it was all made up). ((They also hate Jim Hutton because of the same reasons, if you were asking.)) ((I feel so bad for responsible shippers that have these idiots on their boat, guys get rid of em plss))

This leads me back to this fanfic I found and that line that has been added in a petty way after deleting that comment.

You know I'm the last person who would say "stop writing fanfics about real people", we're a fandom that deals with real people and real or fanmade relationships, that's not remotely the issue here. It's not even the plot that as much basic it is it's quite common and I've read every kind of version of it with basically any ship in this fandom (tho Veronica is the most common one to fall in this trope, followed maybe by Chrissie) and that's kinda okay, I'm not here to judge anyone for that, write what u want, there are lots of well written fics with the same plot.

The issue here is the existence of that statement, "Veronica is a real cold hearted manipulative person". It implies that the author actually believes what they wrote is real. And what they wrote is a Veronica that's and absolute bastard with no reason to be it, she's just evil because yes, gets pregnant on purpose to stay with John, sends him away from Fred and enjoys seeing John being absolutely crushed after he had to leave fred like idk some kind of Scar who enjoys watching Simba running away after Mufasa's death. Because she's evil ok? That should be even ok (not really but you got the point???) if the author wrote that just as a dramatic angsty story with a boring villain, but the addition of that line is the issue here, the author feels like that woman is seriously like that. I honestly struggle to believe anyone could be so serious about this but yes there are people who are and try to spread their hate like this, towards a person they don't even know and has done nothing against them to "deserve" to be hated.

When I posted that pic in my stories today I had numerous people writing me that they couldn't believe someone would seriously hate Veronica to the point of doing this, that's why I'm making this post. There are lots of ppl who have no idea of this issue of the fandom that's more serious than it seems, it has to be put under the sunlight.

You don't have to love Queen's real relationships if you prefer fanmade ones, but please at least respect them. Respect Queen's wives and husband, they are real people. Respect Queen's real lives even if they made questionable things and mistakes. You can't fix them anyway and you're not entitled to change what happened in the past. Please be aware of the sources you get informations from, use reliable sources and believe them, keep songs as they are: poetry, be aware that what you find/create in fanfictions (and some fanarts) is not real. Respect creators that draw/write ships that aren't your faves.

And please ignore these idiots who claim to ""know the truth"" about Queen's private lives. They feel empowered by their age and by the doubts and misteries around some aspects of Queen's lives and they won't change their minds if you present them facts. Shut them off with an "ok" and ignore them. Thanks for reading until now, I hope this has been somehow helpful.

hello anon! i understand your frustration. while i am extremely happy to see and know that the artists of our community are flourishing, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that fics aren’t really being promoted the same way a lot of posts are—at least in my opinion. personally, i used to write a lot more but it turned into poetry for multiple reasons; one of them was lack of interaction, if i’m honest.

i’m gonna be real here and say that i wasn’t here for the events of nov5. i was floating around on the outside of the fandom but i wasn’t in the thick of it—i came back to the fandom right before december. but it’s true that i don’t see nearly as many fics going around as i do see memes, etc., etc.

while i am not the same sort of writer, i 100% do understand your frustration. that’s not to say i don’t appreciate shitposting every so often but it would be amazing to see content—art, fics, poetry, whatever—get that same type of interaction.

if anyone has fics or ficlet s floating around, please tag me in them (using my tracking tag is probably better). i’d love to see and support the amazing and extremely talented writers of this community <3

I was tagged by my good friend @suf-fering, so here we go I guess.

Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 8 (ish) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome work!

2020 was a rough year for me creatively. I stopped loving SU enough to write for it and nothing really replaced it, the only thing I wrote outside of the drabble roulette was an 800 word TOH one-shot, I wrote 7k words for an SU fic I still can’t bring myself to finish up, really not my year. In fact, the only things I wrote after quarantine started, I wrote because I had a uni class which required it. I’m supposed to put eight things I’m proud of in here, but, uhh, I don’t actually have eight thing I’m proud of? My attempts to find more have just made me feel really bad about myself, honestly. So instead, have these seven.

1. First is this Chadverse art I did, based on a certain memetic picture. Is it “good” in the traditional sense? Of course not. But, luckily for me, I’ve learned that you don’t have to be good to be entertaining.

2. The Gods of Yore, a poem I wrote for that uni class. I’m not really a poetry person, but I really enjoyed doing this.

I remember the gods of yore, Shining smiles of blood and gore, Swords held high, As we screamed to the sky, But now, they are no more.

The gods of yore were cruel as they come, Craved murder and violence, the deeds of scum, And yet we gave in, Much to our chagrin, Brought so much death we went numb.

These gods of metal and fire and blood, Saw millions die in towns and in mud, Of whips and sabers And soldiers and slavers, They nipped hope and peace in the bud.

They watched as we laboured and conquered and died, Greed and hunger on every side, For glory and land, We were theirs to command, They wedded us, war was our bride.

These gods laughed as we brought disease west, With our horrible deeds they were surely impressed, Civilizations And whole populations, Were extinguished to fulfil our quest.

The gods of yore are dead to us now, As the new age arrived, They were forced to bow down, To profit margins, And political bargains, For we have new gods now.

We no longer worship these gods of old, Now, our gods can be bought and sold, They are lines on a graph, Budgets cut in half, It is truly a wonder to behold. Our new gods are not nearly so blatant, Though their forms are somewhat adjacent, Exploitation And discrimination Achieve the same effects, if you are patient.

Shunted off to the side are the gods of yore, Now our world has far lesser wars, But the new gods are kind, So sign on the dotted line, The possibilities are greater than ever before.

3. Hey Wait A Second, a Pearlmethyst ficlet for the drabble roulette. It was pretty fun, not my favorite ship but it is a good one.

4. This fanart I made of the final Gap Year chapter, following the same philosophy of my previous artwork. Gap Year’s so good yall, even if it took poor Hadi 99% of the story before I actually read it. And my name is the last word in it, so fuck yeah! That’s an accomplishment only I can have.

5. Encyclopedia Peridotica. I did a secret santa fic exhange and got the wonderful @universallywriting, and I had a lot of fun writing this for them. This is probably my favorite thing i did this year, though I’m not sure I’d call it my favorite SU fic when Sleeping Beauty exists.

6. Travel Log 3710, a short sci-fi story I wrote for that uni class. It’s the first real original thing I’ve written out, so... yay for me? I didn’t really realize that until now, but the people in the class seemed to like it so I guess I should be happy.

7. Perhaps the greatest thing I’ve ever made, and emoji edit I’ve insightfully called Pegging. It’s pretty self-explanatory why it’s here, really.

And that’s it! The seven things I’m most proud of from this year. This is actually the second time I’ve written this post (motherfuckign stupid dipshit tumblr deleted the whole thing the first fucking time I tried), and I’d tag people but I can’t think of anyone Kerry didn’t already tag. Merry christmas, to all you christmas people!

I am very fond of (extra) lore. And for someone who doesn't really write poetry, that was pretty good! The rhyme scheme worked and I think it works better read out loud, when you can really play with tone and rhythm. In my head I had to reread a couple lines. But very fascinating! Lore is so delicious, especially new mythologies.

Sorry, you didn't ask for the random critique. I love to see people writing poetry that rhymes and still sounds like the words have weight. You did that. Good job.

Uh, also, I was thinking of doing a larger ATB fanart. Do you want more elegance this time or still delightful chaos?

Thank you! I’m glad you think so. Poetry is definitely not something I write often, but on the occasion that I do I just always feel compelled to use the most basic ABAB or AABB rhyme scheme no matter what.

I definitely agree that it’s better read out loud. That particular poem really relies on finding a rhythm and a weight to how you say it, and it flows a lot easier when spoken. I do envision it as a poem that was passed down orally. When I try to read it in my head I keep putting too much emphasis on the rhythm and it ends up sounding really weird, but I don’t have the same problem when speaking it out loud.

Thanks for your feedback! That particular piece didn’t get a whole lot of engagement so I was wondering what people thought of it. It’s one of the few pieces of writing that I held onto from that era because I was really happy with it.

And oh my gosh more fanart I’m going to die thank you so much!! I loved the delightful chaos look from last time but I would also love to see what you can do with a more elegant one!

One of these days Ima write a fic dedicated to you because your messages make my day. And as a writer words mean everything.

Your words of kindness help me and so many others in this fandom, and I genuinely belive that you have helped to make it a better place.

This message alone makes me want to work on some of my favorite fics because for me that is something that makes me happy.

Also I hope your day is filled with the same kind of joy that seeing your anons gives me, and you will be happy to know that my physical health seems to be improving with the changes I have made to my life. So if this is a permanent condition I will be living with I think I am still going to be able to live my life on my terms.

A large part of that is thanks to your messages. Because making those changes left me feeling guilty that I wasn’t able to make the same kind of art that my followers have grown use to and I havnt been able to do as much writing.

When I start posting art again there will be a major style change. I am worried that people won’t like it because the art is a massively different style and not nearly as detailed or time consuming. But the good thing is it brings me as much joy (if not more) than the style I was previously doing. Though this style is still in development and until I can achieve an acceptable consistency with it I won’t be posting my art.

And thankfully once I’ve finished adapting to my current physical limitations I will be able to start posting art and writing at a consistent pace, though no where near the pace I use to enjoy.

All in all poetry Anon you have become one of those tokens of joy that I keep with me to remind me that even when I can’t see the value in myself others see it.

I have letters and pictures and gifts that friends have given me, the blog squad has become one of the greatest groups of friends I have ever had, there is the love that this fandom has given me. Comments on my fics that I have saved to a Google doc when I need a reminder that people do like my writing, fanart people have made of my works, and messages from you.

If there weren’t people who cared for me, then people wouldn’t have given me all of those tokens of joy. So those tokens of joy becomes facts and evidence that the idea that I don’t have value are false. And the facts don’t lie.

I matter.

And for me and the others you send your love to, you have become a hero. Because sometimes my mind does go to dark places but it seems like right when I am reaching the point of no return I get one of your poems or spot one of my joy tokens and I come back from that ledge.

You and people like you have saved my life since I rejoined the fandom. You have kept me from relapse so many times and I can never fully state my endless gratitude for that.

So I think I know which of my future fics I want to dedicate to not just you but my friends and this fandom as a whole. Though I will be making a fic dedicated to just you in the near future. (And I will put plenty of poetry in it. I enjoy writing poetry but don’t do it nearly often enough.)
