"It's not even–" you started, looking at the red stripes starting to form at his neck from him scratching it too much. "You're feverish, or you're having an allergic reaction to something you came across while on mission" 

He should have known that the blaster shot blowing up a bag of dark orange powder right next to him, causing him to sneeze and rub his eyes at the moment would have other effects later, but he didn’t expect them to be so… peculiar.

"Come on, sit down at least, you're stressing me out" you sighed as you reached to grab him by the arm before he abruptly stopped you.

"No– Don't touch me." you frowned in incomprehension as you backed away, unused to Poe refusing your touch. “It’s just– I don’t wanna hurt you.” he continued, sitting down on the couch. You frowned, confused, and sat down next to him.

He looked up at you, his eyes weak, sweat pearling over his brow. He looked in so much distress, but you didn’t know how to help him; you couldn’t convince him to do something he didn’t want to, no one could. 

Your fingers brushed back his damp curls, and you felt his body tense at the faintest touch. The vein at his forehead was bulging out, and you could feel the hotness radiating off of his skin.

“What can I do to help you?” you offered in a weak sigh, not sure of what you could do. You wanted to help him, he looked like he could faint at any moment.

“Nothing. Get away maybe. I don’t want to hurt you” 

You chuckled. “Why? Why would you hurt me?” you asked in disbelief. He was getting nonsensical, maybe this was another symptom. 

He pinched his lips, looking down at his lap. Your eyes followed where his gaze was directed and you immediately understood. A tent was formed in his pants, the bulge so prominent you wondered how you hadn't noticed it before.

"Oh."

"It aches, and your presence makes it so much worse, your touch makes it so much worse" he hissed almost angrily, squirming in place. "You have to go away until I find a solution" he declared, ready to stand up before you stopped him, your hand resting over his thigh.

The thing that is so frustrating is that, EVERY SINGLE TIME I share some information with them about the Bible or religion that they didn’t know, they immediately BLOCK ME. EVERY TIME. And it’s like??? If you want to have a debate and go bar for bar then I’ll humor you. Hey, who knows! Maybe I’ll even learn something new and convert! I’m always open to new information! 🐭 vs 🐈‍⬛🐈

So I was up making my coffee at 5am. Maeve really wanted into the hall closet which she never really wants so I open it so she can explore. I’m drinking my coffee upstairs and I hear her running around like crazy. I think nothing of it because she still runs around like a kitten playing on her own. Come down around 6am to have breakfast. I find her squished underneath a cart in the dining room, butt flatter than it’s ever been to get under it. Rocket joins her and I’m like what do you see. So I grab a flashlight and lay down to look under there with them. Which of course shines light on a mouse. One that is pretty well fed cause that guy is way bigger than most mice I’ve seen. Now Maeve has never seen a mouse before and Rocket has only seen one once or twice. So they’re trying to get it, I can’t get it because it’s way in the back under something. Then it popped up and I almost went to try to grab it and thought “Lauren wtf are you doing you can’t bare handed grab that mouse”. Especially since I’m almost anaphylactic allergic to rats and I’m not sure if that allergy includes mice. So it gets away. Then Maeve and Rocket get it in the living room and they’re playing with it between them. So I grab a cup and go to head over to scoop it up. Well me walking over, they both stop and look at me like “what’s up mom?” and let the mouse go.

So now it’s almost time for me to leave. And I know if I don’t find this mouse I’m most likely coming home to a dead mouse, left in my bed probably. Finally Rocket and Maeve are both at the fireplace stretched out tall and there it is. Perched on the brick right on the corner of the fireplace. So I have a cup in one hand and a dish towel in the other and go to get it, but it’s on the corner so it starts to run down the fireplace. Luckily I got the cup over it and shook it down so I could put my hand with the dish towel over the top.

Now let’s keep in mind I’ve been calm and collected over the mouse so far. Until I have it in the cup and can feel it under my hand on the dish cloth trying to get out. Now I’m booking it to the door, trying to keep the cup closed and unlock the door. All the while Rocket and Maeve are chasing ME and yelling because they want their toy back. Finally the door gets open and I throw it out into the woods.

I would say I am very awake for the day now after that adrenaline rush.

hi! i am not trying to alarm you but I would still probably get checked out by a doctor or something, even if you've had something before, it isn't uncommon for allergies to develop randomly

it’s 3:30am rn but maybe i’ll call my doctor on monday and see if they can figure out what’s up because I would like to know what’s exactly caused this because it was painful and I basically can’t talk lmaooo. I suspect it’s some kinda fruit thing like concentrated something because I know I’m allergic to kiwi (have had mild breathing problems from it before, not like this at all) and my throat and mouth have always felt weird and almost dry and itchy after drinking some types of orange juice and saft (idk the english word it’s liquid you mix in water to give flavor). but like that’s mild so I always drink that stuff anyway lmfao like there’s a type of saft that makes my throat feel weird but I still buy it regularly and i’ve mentioned that it does that to my friends and they’re like wtf it does NOT do that. but I can eat oranges last time I checked. which I haven’t done in a while

Uhhhh so when I was a kid I was allergic to citrus but not a normal kind of allergic, it would totally affect my mood and I’d like have temper tantrums after having any citrus

And I outgrew it… supposedly… but I still can’t really eat a whole orange or drink lemonade without feeling kind of hot. I was talking to my mom about trying to fix my mood issues and she was like wait wtf about how citrus used to fuck you up. So I’m going a month no citrus, it’s been 10 days and in the past at least five days my mood has vastly improved. Could be a coincidence, something with my cycle or any number of things but how crazy would it be if that was a big contributing factor to my issues

So I had a doctors appointment today. The good news is: I don’t have a life threatening infection. The bad news is: this means I have a chronic condition called trigeminal neuralgia. Frankly, the idea has been brought up to me before and it’s legit so bad the last time I had a major flare up I considered ☠️.

Anyways. So I remembered to finally get lidocaine (it had to be non-icy hot brand because I’m very allergic to mint) and the doctor (new doctor 💔, I will miss my old GP so much but this new one is so nice she’s great) prescribed naproxen. Which I used to think wasn’t allowed on my current meds. It turns out new research came out that that’s not true. Or something. Either way.

So since I’m allergic to oxy, acetaminophen, can’t take oral aspirin on blood pressure meds, and have all but adapted to ibuprofen over the past four or so years… I am feeling better than I had in over a month.

I still have to go to neurologist in another town to see what meds I can take whenever I get flare ups because my new GP said I can’t take the standard for this condition without stopping my lexapro and that’s not an option, and so insurance was like ‘wtf you tryina kill her???’ And said no. Lol. But that means I need to see brain doc to see what I’m allowed to take when I have flare ups.

I got home and immediately rubbed lidocaine all over my affected area and have the all clear to take Ashwagandha (in a fairly high dosage) whenever I get muscle tension because in all honesty it’s a person to person basis for if it’s bad for you or not and she said that if I don’t get heightened anxiety it’s fine, but that I don’t need to take it regularly if I don’t like it that often.

I fell asleep last night with a nerve induced migraine. I woke up today entirely because the pain was That Bad. And now I feel like I could sleep for a week without pain lol.

Never Let Me Go Ep 5

Chanon is the worst dad. And he’s not a very good bodyguard either, so he’s sort of failing on all counts except driving, I guess. Maybe he should stick to that and be quiet about everything else. I would like to say that I can’t believe that his son is standing in front of him beat all to hell and all he can do is yell at him about not protecting Nueng, but unfortunately I can believe it. He’s awful. 

Also, Nueng is almost a grown ass man on the verge of taking over his father’s company - he is surely old enough to handle his own drinking, especially if he’s allergic. He made the dumb decision, not Palm. And good on Palm for biting back. I don’t actually think he resents Nueng for all of this - I think he heavily resent the situation and maybe is coming to resent his dad for putting him in it - but it could very easily go that way. 

I am so happy that Nueng heard all that, though, because my favorite thing about these types of narratives is the angst inherent to wondering if the dude who has sworn to protect you (and in this case, very specifically protect your heart) is actually feeling something real of if he’s just taking one for the team. Look, we the audience know that Palm is already pretty far gone, but Nueng doesn’t. He can’t be in Palm’s head, and as much as he says that Palm’s easy for him to read, the truth is that when it comes to the way Palm feels about him Nueng can’t read for shit. He can tell when Palm is being off but not the reason why, and because he also has feelings for Palm he can’t trust that if he does read interest from him that it isn’t his own desires being reflected back, whether it’s because he’s imagining it or Palm is just...doing the job. Giving the young master what he wants. It’s delicious and I love it and i hope it gets played with. 

Palm seeing what a concerned, loving parent looks like hurt my heart, though. And I’m happy we didn’t get a scene of Tanya ripping him a new one for not helping her son enough.

Okay, I know what this says about me, but I find Nueng’s attempts at apologizing without actually apologizing hilarious, as well as his pissy reaction to Palm putting more distance between them. I said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s such a spoiled brat. Leaving the pair of shoes with the cook to give to Palm is just...my dude. I am entirely sure that he did that because he figured that Palm wouldn’t be able to give them back if he had someone else pass them on. Thank goodness Palm disabused him of that notion right quick. 

I’m quite happy that Palm didn’t just give in, and I’m glad that Nueng has to feel the effects of his stupid, angry, jealous rant. Not just in the way that Palm won’t forgive him, but the deliberate distance he keeps between them afterwards, even as Nueng keeps trying to prod him back towards what they were like before. 

Ha, Ben with his “maybe the horse wants a partner”. Smooth. 

Literally everyone in his life thinks that Nueng is a burden that Palm has to deal with as a job, including Nueng. But I think Palm would be fine with it if not for the fact that so much of his job now consists of watching him with Ben, ha. Hurt as he was by everything Nueng said, I still think this. 

I love Maggie. I think it, she says it. Preach, girl. And she’s not wrong about Palm needing to love himself more. But what’s with the Silent Night sounding refrain? Every time that one plays I’m just very wtf. 

Okay, so this scene. The outing and Ben’s awful father. See, I think you can see that Nueng just has no clue what it is like to be truly powerless - he is in some ways, but in a lot of ways that matter he has more power than his peers. More power than Palm who has to swallow down all his bitterness when his father basically tells him that his life is not his own, and that he better be prepared to spend it following Nueng around. Ben who can’t even be himself lest his father lose his cool.

I get the desire to be mad at Ben for his betrayal, I really do. He’s the one who pursued Nueng, he’s the one who wanted the kiss and who keeps hinting not-so-subtly that he wants more than that, and yet the second there’s a little heat under his feet he’s pointing fingers at Nueng and playing the innocent.

Except Chimon is actually pretty good at his job, and I could read every single thing going on in Ben’s head, and i just...it’s all well and good to think or say that we’d be different, and I know that our sympathy is supposed to lie with Nueng here. Mine does, but it is also with Ben. He’s visibly miserable the whole time, he tries to squirm out of it by not answering, and when his dad won’t let him, he shoots a look full of apology and pleading at Nueng, and his entire face screws up against what he’s saying even as he tells his dad what he wants to hear. Cowardly? Sure. But he’s gotta go home with that man, and I don’t get the sense that he’s one of the loving kind of parents in this drama. I have a feeling that that’s not done, and that things are going to come to a head there. Look, I just feel for him, okay?

*sigh* It’s gonna turn out to be Chopper who outed them, isn’t it? Of course it is. Why am I even doubting it? He was too calm. Full disclosure this really freaking annoys me and I’m probably still gonna want good things for him. It’s the Perth Effect. 

I do like that both Palm and Chopper went for the person who most mattered to them in the situation, though. 

Pfft at Palm just ripping off the cast. Pretty sure that’s not how they work. 

Okay, I love the rooftop kiss for many reasons. The first is that it’s just a good kiss. Palm saw his chance and did not hesitate. And he really went for it, too. I also really really liked that they shot it from the same or close enough to the same angles as the Ben kiss so that you can really see the difference, especially if you watched the eps back to back like I just did. Nueng is still a little stiff, but he’s fully participating in this kiss, tilting up and leaning in for it whereas with Ben he was more being kissed than kissing. Plus he full on licks his lips before the kiss happens, don’t think I didn’t clock that because I did, I see everything. Then there’s the way he looks after - halfway to wrecked, just from one kiss. I even love that the only thing that really touches is their mouths - both of them are holding back here. 

And I think it has a lot to do with the pretext of the kiss. The agreement is that Palm is going to kiss Nueng to wipe out the memory of Ben’s lips on his, so that means that he’s allowed to go so far and no further. He can kiss Nueng like he wants to devour him, but holding him is still forbidden because Nueng is only doing this to rid himself of a bad memory. And Nueng can give into it, can respond like all he wants is to be devoured, but he can’t reach for Palm either, because Palm is only kissing him to help him out. And this is the main reason why I love it. Please bring on the “he said he’d be anything, and the anything I needed was a kiss/to be comforted, it’s not real” angst. Please bring on the “he’s only turning to me because he can’t have who he wants” angst. I am an utter sucker for that stuff and I will eat it up and ask for more. This is the kind of relationship drama I can get behind.

Music choice was really good in this scene too. 

I always love supportive moms, and Tanya rocked it. Only I don’t really believe her when she says that Nueng’s happiness comes before the business, sorry. Although I do love her “I will find those bullies and get them for you” mindset. Good for Nueng for deciding to handle it though. Shame that he won’t get to. 

I don’t think Tanya’s dead but she was shot in a gnarly place, looks like. That said, I don’t really trust Chanon either so you know, he might just let her bleed a while. Also it’s super sus that he was only shot in the shoulder even though the bike dudes had a lot of time to try for a different spot (like the head). 

Also they’re frolicking on a beach next ep and Nueng is asking the important questions, like why Palm kissed him (yesss please be vague in your answer Palm or even say something like “you needed me” please please I know it’s only been half a month but I’ve been really good this year I deserve this), and I can’t see him doing that if he thought his mom might be dead. 

I guess we’ll see. And hey, maybe we’ll find out Chopper was also the one who shot them. Why not (yes, I’m already bitter. Leave me alone).

inside a room in the hotel inaccessible to every other entity there are model train sets! seek is extremely passionate about these trains and doesn't even realize it, they just head down there and waste precious time. they often tinker with the trains and make their own, sometimes they shrink themselves down and conduct the trains :] i like to think their jeep in the april fools update was made from these train materials.

it's a little embarrassing to them to like these trains, too, so they keep it a secret. why would such pointless objects give them such time to waste? they also find that being around these trains causes a... slight pain in their chest.... and it put them under the assumption that they're allergic to something in the trains but that's ok because the trains are kind of intriguing to tinker around with.

so why do they have that same pain around A-90?

haha hello anon 👀 as usual i have a jumbled mess of thoughts under the cut:

so like every other week, i have some criticism and some positives too. i mean obviously i didn’t find the episode that ~enjoyable~ lol but there were some good moments. i liked seeing fiona and the kids so happy and smiley and i didn’t totally disagree with JD re: his pov on thony. it almost doesn’t matter if he’s being hypocritical, his concern is the safety and well-being of jaz and if he sees thony as a threat to that, i think he’s justified in wanting to protect her by any means. and it was actually kind of refreshing to hear a different perspective on thony from a character who isn’t like knee-deep involved in her life.

the shipping of it all aside, i think what i’ve come to struggle with the most this season is just how goddamn miserable everyone is lol 😭 this show keeps writing itself into darker and darker corners so that moments of levity almost seem unearned and out of place (i.e. the interview scenes in episode 5), even though more than anything i just want to see my favs get wins. like i think coming out of season 1, i was really hoping that thony would have more agency into her descent into the crime world, but really it’s been more of the same, which is she keeps being forced into situations that she seemingly can’t get out of and is absolutely miserable all the time. to me the writers seem to be stuck on making sure thony is still a relatable ‘good’ character who is just forced into criminal activity by circumstance… which did work well for season 1 since the focus was saving luca by any means. but with this second season there was an opportunity to tell different stories, i.e. stories about thony that don’t involve her carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders; instead it seems the show has just leaned heavier into that. i was hoping we would be able to see a grayer thony this season, more of her purposefully leaning into the criminal activity because it’s convenient or simply because she can (i think this is why i liked ep 4 so much lol). instead, it’s the world around her that keeps getting darker and darker and she’s just being further suffocated. and not to mention, on top of that, arman who was more or less her lifeline in season 1 is now also just as miserable as she is 💀 like it’s infinitely more satisfying to see characters we love do bad things but do them willingly vs them being forced to do bad things and are constantly suffering. it becomes too much after a while!

pacing-wise i do think ep 7 and 8 have been probably the best paced episodes this season? these episodes have at least felt like they’re building towards something and riding some sort of momentum. i guess the payoff this season is taking down kamdar, which is very meh to me. again i don’t think i’m a big fan of introducing a cartoonish villain for the express purpose of making characters suffer so that he becomes a lightning rod/excuse for everything terrible in these peoples’ lives. like even if he does get taken down by the end of the season, it doesn’t strike me as super satisfying because it seems like that’s the only reason he’s here? the issue with making a new character the sole focus of the season is that once he’s out of the way, where does that leave our main characters? if it’s in the exact same place they were pre-kamdar, then i think it’s kind of pointless storytelling haha. but idk lol, we’re still in the thick of it so it’s hard to say right now whether the conclusion will be a good one or not. one last thing on pacing — something i have noticed is that a lot of episodes this season have ended on cliffhangers which i’m personally a little allergic to; imo cliffhangers are effective when deployed sparingly or else they just feel overused and narratively repetitive which is how i’ve often felt about the episodes this season unfortunately.

ok to the armony: i mean obviously the shipper in me was watching ep 8 like 🫣 haha. though i mean honestly i don’t think it was out of character for anyone with how everything spun out — thony has really rarely shown any outward desire for arman (aside from 1x06 which one could argue was a moment of weakness) or any desire to want to see his marriage end on her behalf. and arman not being able to definitively decide between the two sides of his heart only to have thony literally decide for him. it sucked but like it didn’t not make sense i guess? nevertheless, it was still so so frustrating to watch and it’s annoying because it feels like what happened was just narratively manufactured to get people riled up lol. but getting people riled up and talking about it is likely exactly what the writers wanted? we got major baited by arman offering to stay with thony (the potential of seeing them comfort each other and emotionally leaning on one another!) only to have that immediately ripped away by thony basically pushing him back towards nadia. literally no one is happy watching this unfold lmao i’m tired! end this triangle from hell 😩 like it’s not bad storytelling imo, i’m just annoyed! personally i believe that the way to get fans to stop clamoring about a ship and focus on the core story is to stop throwing endless angst at them 🥲 they shouldn’t need to be canonized immediately but continued progression and bits of payoff go a long way. but that’s just me!

i keep harping on about this but my greatest, greatest fear is that this show doesn’t get another season. i really would not mind the slowburning of thony’s descent into the darkness or armony progressing past like 2 seconds of physical contact if there was a guarantee that the show would have the longevity to tell this long slow story. but yknow, my anxiety gets the best of me and i become concerned that we’re wasting precious episodes on more ping ponging and drawn-out suffering for the sake of having conflict instead of making sure that a complete satisfying story is being told with the episodes we do have. it’s neither here or there lol, the show is ultimately the writers’ and they should absolutely write the stories they want to tell. i’m just along for the ride and can only hope for the best lol and pls @ fox renew tcl for season 3 i beg

•He might get a few details wrong though

•He’s learnt to always order spicy food whenever you go to restaurants and he watches you eat them with the widest eyes ever

•He’s not gonna be writing to you much at the beginning and you might think it’s bc he doesn’t like communicating with you but when he gets comfortable with you he’s gonna admit to not being able to write

•If you decide to teach him to write he’s gonna be super thankful internally, but also he’s gonna take so much time to learn cause the entire time he’s staring at you and when you catch him staring he’s gonna be like ‘what’re you looking at’ the hypocrite smh
