Courtship - Part 3 (AjinWeek21/1)

Notes: So I decided to continue this for Ajin Week 2021! (although I was torn between making this a Sato fic cause you know. Hat.)

Day 1: Favorite character / summer break/ hat

Favourite character: Both Kei and Kou are among my favourite characters, Kei especially is one of my favourite protagonists of all time, and summer break, because this place during the sweltering time that is training camp. (fun! :D)

“Really?” Kei asks with growing annoyance as the vampire movie plays out on the screen in front of them. “Really?!”

“I can’t believe you haven’t seen that!” Kou defends himself, depositing the bowl of chips into Kei’s lap so his hands are free to adjust the volume.

“This is not what I had in mind when I agreed to…well, dating you.” Kei says, lowering his volume at the last three words that seem a little too foreign too pronounce.

“Why not?” Kou replies, “Movie nights are a super normal thing to do, not even for a date-“ He in comparison, has zero trouble adequately naming their current situation – “or with friends!” He smirked, which could never mean anything good: “Which you’d know, if you had any-“ Kou winces as Kei’s elbow rams into his side.

“I did have friends.” Kei grumbles through his teeth, stretching out his feet over the old and battered, but still quite comfortable couch. This is, surprisingly, afar more relaxing activity than he had initially anticipated.

Even if the movie is grating on his nerves.

“Why is everyone trying to befriend her?” he asks, exasperatedly. Bella Swan had made it perfectly clear that she was not interested in socializing from the moment she had arrived in her father’s rainy suburban town. And yet, in the first half an hour, not only had her childhood best friend shown up, she’d also been introduced to numerous classmates and faculty, and on top of that, was subtly encouraged to take a glance at a family of – vampire’s, that was his most likely prediction based on what he’d heard of the plot.

“Well, she’s new and people wanna get to know her. Nothing wrong with that.” Kou said diplomatically.

“Ugh.” Kei groans, and takes a sip of his coke. Eriko had always tried to make him watch these movies, which, if he was correct, were five in number, because apparently it was no enough to have a fourth movie. No, it had two be dragged out across two volumes. So far, he had been able to avoid it. Until training camp.

“Which you’d know, if you’d had-“

“Shut the fuck up.” Kei snaps, and the mood sours for a moment.

“Right, right, I’m sorry.” Kou says, after a beat of silence, and then his hand reaches over to grasp Kei’s.

“Is that really necessary?” Kei mutters, feeling his cheeks heat up. He prays that the darkness of the room, only lit up faintly by the TV, serves as enough cover.

“Well, it’s a date, right?”

“Stop saying that all the time.”

“Date. Date. Daaate.” Kou sing-songs, grinning at Kei knowingly.

The latter glowers: “Are you in elementary school?”

Kou laughs. He still doesn’t let go of Kei’s hand.

Kei feels his heartbeat quicken, ever so slightly, nervousness manifesting in the pit of his stomach. He chalks it up to the unfamiliar situation. After all, he really doesn’t know whether the movie will provide suitable entertainment for the next one and a half hours. There is no way it has anything to do with Kou.

At least, it shouldn’t.

“If you could choose between being a vampire and an Ajin, what would you pick?” Kou asks, out of the blue.

The movie had ended just a little while ago, a pointless two hours and six minutes of a supernatural romance that Kei couldn’t care less for. It was a little past ten, and they were not finished for a long while, apparently, if the cover for the second movie, blinking traitorously in Izumi’s streaming library, was anything to go by.

“Not this again.” Kei sighs, “Do you spend all day on these unlikely scenarios?”

“It’s that not unlikely.” Kou argues, “Come on, a few years back, you didn’t even know Ajin existed! And now you’re one!”

“Of course I knew they existed. It’s part of the school curriculum.” Kei deadpans, this particular lesson still rather unsettlingly fresh in his memory.

“Which you’d know if you’d gone to school.” He adds, acidly.

“Wow, harsh.” Kou pouts, “I did go. I just…dropped out. There’s a difference. Everyone knows that.” He mumbles.

“Keep telling yourself that” is on the tip of Kei’s tongue, but he swallows it down, if only to retain the peace. And perhaps because he would feel the tiniest bit guilty further prodding at that sore spot.

But school is something he does not want to think about for a good while again. The memory brings only pain. Betrayal from his classmates, from teachers, a jealousy- one that Kou would never be able to comprehend - on missing out on education that is a given for his former classmates.. A High School degree that he will never receive, if the government has any say in it, after all the years and effort, the hours of studying and revising he has put into it. A bleak future with all paths to prestigious medical universities blocked irreversibly. His only crime had been crossing that road that day. If only I could be reborn, Kei thinks miserably, then I could get a new chance. chance. He is in dire need of a new identity. Perhaps he can later guilt Tosaki into creating one for him.

“So circling back to the topic at hand, vampires.” he says, reluctantly.

“Heck yeah.” Kou agrees, excitedly, “So?”

“There are pros and cons on both sides.” Kei shrugs, “If you were a vampire, you wouldn’t be able to age and have a career, build a reputation. You’d have to get a new identity every few years. That sounds like a hassle. And don’t get me started on the…blood lust.”

The vampires and even humans in the movie had looked hungry in a completely different way whenever that topic came up. As though sucking your body’s circulatory system dry was desirable under any circumstance. Kei shuddered at the thought.

“You mean, you wouldn’t be able to build a family, live out your life with your friends, that kinda stuff?” Kou asks.

“I was referring to the important things, but I suppose.” Kei says loftily.

“Yeah, well, you’re wrong about that. Even vampires enjoy having relationships.” Kou argued.

“Debatable.”

“Bella seems pretty happy with the Edward guy.” his teammate emphasizes, “No matter if he’s a vampire or not.”

“But it is going to be a problem in the future.” Kei argues, “Honestly, she should have just stayed with Jacob and been done with it. It’s a suitable match, why put in any extra effort? She’s just going to grow old while he stays young forever.”

“Figures you’d go with the childhood best friend.” Kou mutters, flicking crumbs of his trousers.

“What?”

But Kou – strangely, for once in his life- doesn’t seem to haven an emergent need to elaborate further on the matter.

Kei probably should have said something a long time ago.

Perhaps he should have stopped Kou from starting the blasted second movie, but “Kei, it’s not that late! And how else will you know how it ends?” (Apparently, never was not a viable option.)

So here they are, sitting through another two hours of what Kou calls an “iconic classic” and Kei under his breath refers to as trash, but not the recyclable kind.

The cinematography is stunning, he has to admit begrudgingly, and the plot, albeit ridiculous, still manages to draw him in enough for him to forego his plans of turning the movie off several times, which is quite bothersome.

Well, fine then, Kei thinks to himself, at least now if Eriko badgers him about those movies again, he can give her a detailed review of every single logical error he has discovered so far.

He is considering starting a list, just so as to have some backup proof. His little sister’s education doesn’t have to suffer any more than it already had.

“Is she really going to sit around for months and wait for him to come back?” Kei complains, grabbing a fist full of popcorn from the bowl Hirasawa had made for them, “That’s a complete waste of time.”

“I don’t know, don’t you think some people are worth waiting for?” Kou threw in, giving Kei a knowing -sort-of-look that he couldn’t place.

It was the first sentence he had spoken in a while. Apart from his rambling monologue to get Izumi to join them a while prior when she came in to check if the streaming service was working.

“Did you see these movies already, Izumi-san?” Kou had asked and Kei surely hadn’t imagined the blush pinkening her cheeks.

“Oh, those? Just…once.” she’d replied, her voice sounding a little too high-pitched for that to be true, “It all seems fine, so I should get going-“

“Ah, already? Take a seat, take a seat!” Kou says generously, gesturing to the couch, “You need a break too, right?”

And Izumi did, albeit only tentatively on the edge. “I’ll be gone in a few minutes.” she promises.

She lied. Fifteen minutes later, she is still there and Kei doesn’t have the heart to kick her out, despite this being a a date, as he not so subtly communicated to Kou via verbal cues – all of which the other successfully ignored -but then, he bitterly thought, what chance did their pseudo-trial stand against Kou’s immortal woman of his dreams?

His thoughts screech to a halt. What does he even care what Kou thinks about either of them? It was all beyond ridiculous.

“It depends on how long you’re waiting for them.” Kei says, in response to Kou’s earlier question, “What about you, Izumi-san?”

“I think some relationships are worth preserving.” Izumi replies meaningfully, but right before she can say anything else, her phone goes off, the Caller-ID flashing with a familiar name.

“It seems Tosaki-san needs my assistance.” she says, barely concealing a wistful sigh, “Have fun you two.”

“He really needs to stop working you to the bone.” Kou complains.

Kei has the decency to feel guilty about the relief that settles in him when she leaves.

The motorcycle ride looks engaging. An activity Kei himself wouldn’t mind doing, seeing as there was zero risk involved to his safety with his newfound Ajin status.

As he verbalizes all of this, Kou gives him yet another of these knowing looks.

“Well, you were always one for motorcycles, weren’t you?” he says, tone bordering on smug.

Kei frowns. “Where did you get that idea from? I’ve only ridden one so far, but that was with Kaito.”

“I know.” Kou says, and then downs the rest of his coke.

“Refill?” he asks, holding out his hand for Kei’s glass.

“Sure.” Kei says, passing it over. He eyes Nakano skeptically, for any hint as to why his demeanor kept fluctuating.

“Here you go.”

“Thanks.” Kei cautiously takes the glass from him. Their fingers brush, lingering just a second too long to be casual. Kei notices how the tips of Kou’s ears redden and uses his momentary distraction to his advantage.

“You really hate that Jacob guy, don’t you?”

Judging by the look on his teammate’s face, he hit the nail on the head.

“I, uh, well hate is a kinda strong word.” Kou hesitates, stumbling over words, “He’s just not my favourite.”

“Really?” Kei asks, raising an eyebrow. In all honesty, he isn’t very interested in either of the characters, but psychoanalyzing Kou is what gives the evening its spice.

“Why is that so surprising?” Kou pouts.

“Because he’s just the same sort of muscle-brained idiot that you are.” Kei responds, gracing Kou with an exasperated look, before turning back to the movie.

“Oh.”

His words seemed to have had a profound effect on his teammate. Whatever sort of enlightenment had reached Kou, it had visibly brightened his mood.

“He is, isn’t he.” Kou says, with a small laugh.

“I don’t know why that is so surprising.”

“Guess I never thought of it that way.”

Which was exactly why it fit so well, Kei thinks to himself. Kou looks positively thrilled with the new discovery. As much as it pains to admit him, a lot remains about his teammate that he still doesn’t understand.

“I think he might be becoming my new favourite character.” Kou says, conspiratorially, sliding closer to Kei and slinging arm around him.

As the movie goes on, Kei starts to feel more and more tired. The comfortable atmosphere and the constant stream of voices from the TV serve to lull him a sleepy state. “Wake me up when they reach Italy.” he mumbles, the exhaustion of another day spent training finally catching up with him.

Kou mumbles an affirmative, and that’s where Kei’s memory cuts off.

The next thing he knows, someone is prodding at him from the side, instructing him to wake up.

“Fine, five more minutes.” Kei says, swatting the offending hand away.

He blinks as he comes too, shielding his eyes against the sudden brightness of the room.

The movie has ended, but even if hadn’t, Kei wouldn’t have been able to see much of the screen.

Not with Tosaki blocking their view.

“It’s almost 1 am.” he informs them through clenched teeth, “Get upstairs before I sever the internet connection.”

It’s a substantial threat. Substantial enough to briefly distract Kei from the fact that he had fallen asleep right on top of Kou.

“Fuck.” Kei swears under his breath, sitting up straight.

His teammate seems less perturbed.

“You missed the ending.” is all Kou has to say for himself, with a shit-eating grin.

(“It really is pointless.” Kei whispers, later that night, as they are both lying in Kou’s bed, a hair-brained decision that Kei blames his tiredness for.

“The whole being with a vampire. She can’t be, unless someone turns her into one, but that would be the epitome of a ridiculous clishé".

“…”

“Oh God, please tell me I’m wrong.”)

1. What song automatically plays in your head when you look out the window on a long drive?

i dont really have an answer for this. i think i just automatically think about any song ive been listening to recently or any song that has been stuck in my head.

2. Do you have some snacks nearby when you write?

well i live in a two story house so the kitchen is downstairs and im usually lazy busy so since i have a mini fridge upstairs i just usually get water to drink while im writing. its kinda hard to eat and write cuz i loose focus really easily so when i am writing i am writing! i am in the zone! but if i am a little hungry ill usually snack on candy like chocolate kinder joys i love them but they r so expensive or snack on chips but i get like salt on my fingers or i like cheetos so cheetos dust and that just gets everywhere and later my hands and keyboard kinda smell like fart. 3. What do you do to combat creative burnout?

so burnout happens to me a lot so to get inspiration i either read other stories or fanfics which gets my head gears turning or i admire a piece of art or photography or a song. whats so unique and satisfying with writing you can explore and go anywhere with it, hehehe erotic if you know what i mean lol jk there are no barriers with writing just your imagination. there is inspiration any where you go and id advise to never stop writing. even if its a few short sentences or paragraphs about anything even bird poop its still progression and your mind is working and your searching for words like its all good for you bby. 4. Do you use (or like to use) prompts?

i do ill put the link here. im thinking of changing it though to do something different.

5. What is your favorite place to write?

lol boring, i know but my room. my room is really bright in the mornings and comfortable and chill and i have a candle of the pandora ride in disney that smells like the ride so its all good and relaxing and super peaceful plus i have a picture of myself the age of like 9 on my desk idk why but it encourages me and makes me focus to make sure i never get that cringy again.

6. What is a hobby or yous that you usually don’t talk about?

well i like working out HAHAHAHAHA jk that was a joke...get it...cuz i much rather be eatingokillstop. but i really like to draw which i have a art page you can see it if you click here pls look at my failed attempts to be hip and cool with the cool kids and being artsy fartsy. another hobby is i really like to do makeup and nail art, nail art is really tough guys no joke if you do it like you got wizard powers are something. maybe its bc my nails are shorter than pete davidson and ariana grande’s relationship, alright im trying to stop i swear!

7. Do you play an instrument? Which one?

no i wish though. i always wanted to learn to either play the piano or electric guitar cuz H.E.R looks so cool doing it.

8. How do you feel about your handwriting?

it sucks dont even try me. my sister can barely read it like no wonder nobody wants to steal my signature heck they can’t even read it!

9. Can you tell us of a story that marked your development as a person? As a writer?

ok sit back guys, sniff a nice amount of crack and get ready for the most cringy moment of my life but also a time when i knew i was meant to be *inhale* a fanfic writer.

so it was elementary school, i think 3rd grade and for my writing assignment we were given a prompt of idk what the heck tbh i think it was like be outside the box and im like ok imma nail this cuz im a weird child and yeah so i got my papers and pencil and i went TO TOWN on this paper. so i wrote two stories. one short story with a picture to go with it and one long story that yeah i buried years ago. so my first story was about a farmer was about that farming life. he had chickens and dairy. so i cant remember if the cheese was spoiled but doesnt matter. anywho these cheese and a chicken were alive like they could talk in the story and i gave them faces, yikes. but the whole story was the farmer was a b*tch and he was trying to eat the chicken and cheese so they hatched a plan to get away from the farmer. they did it successfully and they ran away. yay happy ending my teacher actually liked that one me too and my school mates were thinking what they heck is this girl on i made a story about how me and justin bieber made cookies for Christmas you know. so then my other story i was more proud of this one cuz it was a tone of paper, sorry trees, and this story was about how a female hippo (girl i was all about plus size and thicker girls and no body shaming) and an male ostrich were kidnapped from their own habitats and taken to become circus animals. failed version of Madagascar hey mine was before the circus movie OK THEY STOLE IT FROM MEEEEE. so they get taken and are treated to harsh punishment and the animals can talk and i think its in the point of view of the male ostrich guy thing. they are in the circus and they start to have this relationship happening. love starts blossoming its all good. im happy with this cuz i believed in love at age of 8. they find a way thru a kick butt scene of the animals escaping and the hippo and ostrich are so in love that they run away together and they have half hippo half ostrich babies and i think i named the species hipstrich or like ostppo idk but i was so proud of this story and when my teacher read it she was worried about me lol i think she thought i might like mate these two animals like secretly idk but she was like it was ok and i was like what this is frickin William Shakespeare writing or like F. Scott Fitzgerald writing. nevertheless it taught me a lesson that nobody else needs to like what im writing the main point and only thing that matters is if your proud of it and you like it and i really did. i will remember that story forever and thats what made me want to be a writer. lol sorry that was a lot.

wellllll im working on my peaky blinders oc story its a lot of drugs money killing weapons jewelry rich profanities like its the show but written from my stubby hands so my oc and whatever its great and so excited to show it to you guys.

1. What is your favorite book?

fifty shades of grey hahaha naw my favorite book is obv you all know this is series of unfortunate events but i never usually cry period and i never cry for books ever so when i read mrs. tom thumb by melanie benjamin, its the part when her sister minnie dies i cried so hard idk it was just emotional the wording the way she described her pain it was so beautiful written yet so sad and that was just amazing to me cuz im like this book made me feel things and im like wow i would love to write a book one day and make someone feel something whether it be sadness anger happiness annoyance anything they are having an emotion and that is super powerful to do that with just words. pls go check out that book its a good read. also im a fan of the greatest showman so i really enjoyed it. there are many other books tho that i thoroughly enjoy so much.

2. What piece that you’ve written are you most proud of?

oh my god ive always wanted to be asked this question hands down i am always proud of my platonic gender neutral tony stark fic called in·con·sol·a·ble window to me i wrote it so sad and i was feeling like depressed lol when i saw peter die in infinity war like i didnt know what to do with my life tbh but im so glad that @impetrichorny requested it tysm i just like how its not based on romance or fluff or happiness it is based on when you lose someone the nightmares and sadness you go through and that there is nothing nobody can do about it except just be there for that person so i really like writing angst and something that was out of the box. ive been thinking tho of doing a part two since the fate of all the characters has changed after endgame. who knows tho.

3. What is the last song that inspired you?

well for art it would have to good news by mac miller when i did that kobe bryant memorial on my art page. i dont want to give it away though but ill just say some very powerful womens music inspired my oc writing and making.

4. How do you feel about letting people read what you write?

at first i was scared cuz i thought i wrote like trash which that feeling kinda doesnt go away like some days i feel that way others i feel confident or it depends on the request it just depends but anyways i was always insecure about my writing so when i started writing it was more like lets see how this goes if not ill delete the whole page. im glad to say it went great but in the begging it was hard cuz i kept putting myself down but i learned to accept or just understand that you keep learning with writing you always learn knew things with writing how you can explain something better or you words get more intricate and people see the improvement and you do too thats why i applaud those who dont speak english that english isnt their first language. you are doing a tremendous job and keep practicing cuz you’re gonna make it to the top. ive also learned that some days are not my days and you can take time off when youre not feeling it when you have writers block. just recollect your juices sip some tea go to the beach relax your mind a little and take as long as you need to come back and give it your all. also comments and reblogs and likes a follows those meant so much to me and encouraged me. thats why i cant express it enough how much all those mean to writers, artist, photographers, anybody who is truly trying their hard in this area of social media. its makes a person happy smile and confident in their writing but first train your mind into loving what you make not what others thing. you have to be happy with the outcome that is what truly matters and what makes your writing the best. look at me getting philosophical.

5. Do you get distracted easily? If yes with what?

yes and with porn haha i get distracted easily like very easily homeschooling was really tough for me. music distracts me, netflix, the urge to watch david dobrik or unus annus or buzzfeed unsolved on youtube, heck my farts distract me. i gotta be like troy bolton i gotta get my HEAD IN THE GAME!

Oh dear that sounds like it must suck jdnd oms XDD I personally am not a fan of taking art classes in school bc I suffer in most school environments for creative things like art- I just prefer to keep drawing as an at home thing, I gave art classes many a second chance but they were so boring and technical and always had such a hard-coded path so nahh, so unexciting and unfulfilling.

XDD Well you could explain it again, it's a very good reason--

Hmmmb buzz your head, I did /j (I actually did it tho XD) I mean.. I personally recommend trying out a short haircut tho (as a person who has tried many short hairstyles-- pixie cuts w/shaved sides + back are the superior haircut XD I'm actually growing my hair out from shaving it all off tho- I havent had long hair since I was like, 8, and I hope I like it this time around cause I like the idea of it-) but anyways short hair is super easy to style and worth trying even though hair takes a while to grow out-- and alsoo it's easier to wear a wig over short hair XD

YESS I stim a lot when I get excited XDD so much moving around and pacing-- (points to when I initially became friends with you--)

XDD cool, I've been adopted by someone! ..again! XD

Unrelated but I'm playing Minecraft and got reminded of how no one ever wants to play games with me ;w; none of my siblings care for Minecraft so I'm always playing alone-

SAMEEE- i dont really wanna pursue art as a career or anything- i just draw for absolute fun ! and awhh well im slightly glad i didnt choose art class as my elective then xD

and oo i guess your right- i have the feeling i can actually convince my mom cause like- i havent asked for a gift for months- the last time i bought something- it was persona 4 golden when it went on steam- which was like jUNE-July xDD but man- if i ask her she better not go all like- "okay but THATS YOUR CHRISTMAS GIFT-" XDDD so maybe ill wait or see what will happen

and man- back at march when quarantine started- i knew this was the absolute oppurtunity to have short hair- i dreamed of having hair short to where it reaches my chin or neck- but my mom (THE CLASSIC ASIAN- /hj) is all like "no- you will look ugly-" HAHA- okay she didnt say "ugly" she just kept saying "you wont look good with short hair" but I AM JUST H U R T MAN-

Sekaiichi Hatsukoi Onodera Ritsu no Baai Special Book *Bonus Translation*

SPOILERS POTENTIALLY FOR SEKAKOI

Another small treat for my Sekakoi kiddos!!!

I was happy to see the reception from the provisional translation of chapter 27 (I know some people like to wait for the cleaner translation, and that’s totally legit, but I see that some people are impatient like me lmao), so I wanted to do one more as a post-new years treat. As far as I know, this short hasn’t been translated into English yet. It’s a short where Onodera and Takano go on a gasp date!!! No smut (sorry) but it’s super cute - I promise.

As with before - I’m not a scanlation group, and I am sorry that I don’t know how to do that. The scans are NOT mine. They’re Draw Club’s （同萌繪）again - please go check them out if you speak Chinese. Yu-gi-oh cards that should be made (part 2)

Ojama- Though used commonly in GX, Konami didn’t released a lot of cards for this archetype, in fact after season 1 of GX no new Ojama cards came out till 5Ds, and even then it was only a few. Though some new ojama cards just recently came out, there are several anime only cards that I think would be good as cards, like Ojama Delta Thunder, Ojamandala, and Mecha Ojama King.

If Konami ever does another booster pack consisting of cards they didn’t think of making at the time, they can make these into cards, plus maybe some new ones for the archetype like more Ojama monsters, new ojama fusions, maybe one consisting of 4 or 5 Ojamas, and spell/trap cards.

Crystal Beast- Another series that since that show ended, only a few new cards have come out, like some only in Japan as well as some new ones that came out along with the new Ojama cards. I could see the benefit of having more cards for this deck, like new crystal beast monsters based on other crystals, and maybe more crystal beast fusions cards that don’t require all 7 crystal beast to do so, as well as one that aid in the summoning of Rainbow Dragon, maybe some that don’t require all 7 crystal beast to do so.

Vehicroid- Though the archetype has some powerful cards, most of them aren’t that good cause either most of the monster cards have either really bland effects or required sacrifices in order to summon the monsters with good effects. Then there are the fusion monsters, not only do some of them require more then 2 monsters to summon them, but some also have bland effects. I say if they plan on making more roid cards (which they did recently) they should make more cards that could fix the problems the archetype has, like monster cards with good effects AND low levels, better magic and trap cards that better aid the archetype like bringing monsters onto the field or hand, and fusion monsters that are easy to summon and have good, unique effects. Some cards that should be made that come to mind are from the manga, like Tankroid, Shovelroid, and Satelliteroid.

Arcana Force- Said to be one of the worst archetypes out there. Though bad I don’t see the harm of trying to fix the weaknesses this archetype has with new cards, like monster with better effects, spells and trap cards that make you get the effect you want or negate a bad effect, or some cards that don’t count on luck to work.

Dark World- A interesting archetype that heavily involved discarding cards in order to do something, like special summon monsters and or destroying opponents cards. Id like to see some more cards for this archetype in the future someday, especially an extra deck card or two.

Chemical- A small achetype used by Bastion in GX, that involved using monsters that were a reference to elements from the periodic table and using magic/trap cards to fuse them into stronger monsters based on chemical like Water Dragon. Again with more cards for this archetype coming out recently I don't see the harm of making more cards for this, like more monsters base on elements, and stronger monsters like chemical based ones and maybe a extra deck monsters.

These next 4 are suggestions I have for possible real life archetypes, 2 of which are anime only cards and 2 that appeared in the never dubbed 4th season of GX so spoilers for those who haven’t watched it.

Professor Banner’s alchemy deck- In Banners only duel, he used an alchemy deck which focused on removing from play “alchemy beast” in order to summon a monster that gains ATK points for each monster removed from play, I know he used other monsters but still. I can see people liking this archetype, especially since it focuses on removing cards from play, which is rare to see used as a key component in archetypes (yes I know there are some that do, but still).

Slime- Used by a 1 time appearance character named Mad Dog. This anime archetype uses slime monsters that have various abilities, like drawing cards, summoning tokens, and causing damage, as well as spell/traps that do various things that are related to slime monsters. I bet with a few more cards like more monsters and cards that can destroy other deck types (as in the anime Mad Dog used card that specifically destroyed Zane’s machine type monsters) this could become a cool archetype.

On a seperate note, during the duel, Mad Dog did use some anime only miscellaneous cards that I think would make for good real life cards like “Contingency Fee”, “Trip Trap”, and “Despised Reality”.

Here are the 2 archetypes that appeared in season 4

“Clear” cards- The archetype uses Clear monsters, monsters with no attributes, and these monsters with the ability of the field spell “Clear World” on the field make the archetype really powerful. Sadly only 2 cards of this archetype have been made however with anime only cards being made now, it might be the best time to make more cards for this archetype if you can call it that.

Darkness- This deck though uses “darkness” monsters with various abilities, one known example is Darkness Neosphere, it mainly focuses on specific magic and trap cards that can deal major damage to the opponent. I know this might never happen see as how powerful the magic/trap cards are but its still worth putting it on the list.

The following are from 5Ds

Junk/Synchron- Popular archetypes from 5Ds that haven’t been focused on since the show ended with a few exceptions. I like the idea of Konami releasing these cards again, and maybe make a few new ones for the archetypes.

Fortune Lady- A really small archetype used by Carly that only appeared in a few episodes of season 1 of 5Ds, but never reappeared after that. It involved using Spellcaster monsters that have several abilitites, like there ATK and DEF equals there level times a number and increase there levels every turn (good for syncro and xyz summoning), and a special effect. I think making more cards for these archetype would be cool, heck maybe make a sub archetype consisting of the Fortune fairies, the devolved version of this archetype used by Carly.

Morphtronic- A machine type archetype used by Leo. A lot of cards were made for this deck but they weren’t shown a lot on the anime, so maybe some new cards should be made to remind the people. One idea I have is a synchro monster that aids morphtronics in some way as Leo only used one on the show, plus there aren’t that many machine synchro cards that fit this archetype.

Infernity- A deck that utilizes in having no cards in your hand, good for people who like to use as many cards as possible. Though there are some cards for this deck out there, even some synchro monsters out there, a few more wouldn’t hurt.

Genex- An archetype introduced in the Hidden Arsenal series. It has many weaknesses but was good for people to experiment and practice with synchro summoning. Again though there are many cards for this archetype out there, I say making cards to fix this archetype’s weaknesses wouldn’t hurt.

Now Zexal

Gem Knight- Another personal favorite of mine, since its like Elemental Heroes in a lot of ways. Again there are plenty of these cards but making a few more can’t hurt, like maybe a field spell or more xyz monsters, maybe even a synchro monster, since the archtype was introduced between 5Ds and Zexal.

Crashbug- A archetype that surrounds 3 specific monster cards that uses the King, Queen, and Jack Knight ability, as having any 2 of these cards can let you special summon the 3rd one. This archetype is handy when summoning xyz monsters that need level 3 monsters, and it also has a trump card that have 3000 defense points and can be easily summoned.

Super Defense Robot- A earth attribute machine archetype with a beast theme to it. Only 3 monster cards, and a xyz monster were made for it but I see potential to it. One idea I have that can make this deck cool was if it used not only machine type monsters but also a new type of monster, machine-beast monster cards, which could make way for future possibility of other mixed cards besides Winged-Beast. Also I can see a fusion card that is similar to the XYZ fusion monsters, involving several monsters fusing to form a machine beast monster.

Star Seraph and Druid- Both weren’t used a lot in Zexal but both have tons of potential, if given more member and support cards.

Artifact- An interesting archetype that uses the monsters as spell cards with various other abilities. I believe there should be more spell, traps, and extra deck cards for this archetype.

Here is Arc V

Fluffal- An interesting archetype that uses fairy type stuff animals that can turn into fiend monsters when fused with metal objects. I think there should be more cards for this archetype in the future, like more monster cards, spell & trap cards like a field spell, and fusions, maybe a few synchro or xyz monsters since in the show the character who used this deck traveled to the other dimensions.

Burning Abyss- a TCG only archetype that is based on characters from Dante’s Inferno. It uses fiend monsters that is about getting monsters to the grave in order to win. Also similar to Odd Eye extra deck monsters, several of its most powerful monsters are a different type of extra deck monster, one is a fusion, 2 xyz, a synchro, even a ritual monster. If Konami decides to make more cards, maybe they should try and do 2 co archetypes/series that are based on the rest of the divine comedy that can work with the Burning Abyss cards?

Amorphage- A pendulum heavy archetype, which can destroy a players deck if played right. Only a few are out there, so making a few would be good for those who like the deck, heck maybe make it work with the Burning Abyss archetype since the creatures are based on the deadly sins?

The following just miscellaneous ideas for cards that range from all the shows, as well as some personal ideas, that I think would be awesome as real cards.

A 3rd colored Eyes colored dragon monster- I talked about this in my ideas for yugioh sequel series. The 2 most popular dragons in the original yugioh series were Blue Eyes and Red Eyes, heck cards for them are still being made to this day, but imagine if there was a third dragon just as powerful as the 2. This idea could work as either a separate normal monster card with cards that can make it as a archetype or maybe as fusion monster between Blue Eyes and Red Eyes ? Again if they ever make another season featuring the original characters, this would make for an interesting side plot for a season of yugioh where during tag team duel or 1 vs 2 duel.

The Beetron cards- Used by Chazz in GX. There union monsters, and just like the cards that make up XYZ Dragon Cannon, can combine into a fusion monster. There aren’t a lot of union monsters around in the game nowadays so having some out, especially these, would be cool.

Bastion’s Fire Dragon- In the 1st & 2nd season of GX opening, Bastion is seen with not only his Water Dragon next to him, but also a Fire Dragon. People think that was going to be another strong monster in his deck, but was never shown cause Bastion was put to the sidelines and eventually written out. Since this was pointed out, maybe Konami should make it as an actual card, they can do this by making the summoning requirements similar to Water dragon but with a Carboneddon and 2 Hydrogedons, which is close to the real life molecular formula for fire. I mean if Konami can release a stronger version of Water Dragon, why not make a Fire Dragon ?

An ABC/VW/XYZ fusion monster- A new Kaiba structure deck came out that contained 3 new lettered union monsters that could form a new union fusion monster and another one with XYZ Dragon Cannon. This makes me think that if the XYZ Dragon Cannon can form fusion monsters with the ABC and VW fusion monster cards then why not a card where all 3 fusion monsters are required ? Sure it might be hard to summon it but that hasn’t stop Konami from making hard to summon monsters before.

A Jim Cook deck- Jim Cook was a character that appeared in the GX manga and season 3 of the yugioh GX anime, but is more fleshed out in the anime. His anime version owned a rock type deck with a fossil theme to it that used a variety of fusion monsters as well as cards that “devolved” monsters to a stronger version of itself. A big detail of his deck was that he owned a polymerization type card that was similar to super polymerization, as it fused monsters from each player’s graveyard. I bet with a bit of tweaking here and there (like making it easier to summon the fossil fusions monsters as the ones shown on the shows need specific monsters, mostly dinosaur and/or warrior monsters with cetain levels) I bet this deck could work.

More cards that support the Divine Cards- In every yugioh show there are cards that are similar to the Egyptian God cards in ways of having supreme power and needing several monsters/cards to summon it. However before 5Ds there weren’t that many cards that can aid in the summoning of them, so when the Legend of Dragon booster pack made cards that can aid in the summoning of the Egyptian god cards, this got me thinking that Konami should make cards that can aid in the summoning in other monsters like the Sacred Beast and Nordic for example.

A De XYZ and De Link card- If there can be a card that can turn a fusion or synchro monster back to its materials, then why not have a card that can be used for XYZ monsters and Link monsters. The De Link card could be awesome since removing that card could destroy/ prevent summoning extra cards on the opponent’s side of the field.

A non-synchro, xyz, and pendulum area cards-Back during GX, there was a continuous trap card called “non fusion area”, that prevent either player from summoning fusion monster on the field. Not only should they make a reprint of that card, they should make cards similar to this that work on the other extra deck cards out there.

Cards from the yugioh manga series- Besides yugioh being a fun card game and anime, it also has its own manga series, one for each show, however most of them have differnet plots then the anime. Along with different plots they also have different cards. Though some of these manga only cards have been made into real cards, one example are some heroes from the GX manga series, I think Konami should make more cards from the manga as real cards.

A Greek myth archetype- Since the show has aired, there have been cards that were based on a mythology, some best known are the Egyptian God cards and the Nordic monsters. As the title says I think there should be a archtype that focuses on the tales from Greek mythology, cause though there have been some cards that have been named after Greek or even Roman characters, there has never been a true archetype for it. I think now would be a good time since it seems Konami is running out of mythological beings to base cards on, since they used characters from either books or elements of a mythology (like Dante Inferno or the deadly sins). A deck like this would be perfect for my idea of a sequel series where the villain is a greek king.

More ritual cards- Since Link Summoning restrains the use of the extra deck, I can see a lot of value of having Ritual cards in decks, so maybe Konami should make new, or retrained version of old ritual cards that people can use. Heck maybe they should be the key cards in there next spinoff series, it be a good change then a new patch of something new. They should also make a rare ritual card that lets you summon any ritual monster from the deck instead of just your hand.

Fusion/Synchro/and XYZ monsters for specific decks- This is what I mean, in Arc V, we saw characters use several, if not all extra deck type monsters throughout the series, some of which fitted there deck’s theme, like Yuya and his Odd Eye Dragons for example. This got me thinking, so what if Konami made cards for archetypes that are in the form of the other extra deck types, like for example a xyz monster for Elemental Hero or a Synchro monster for Utopia. This can give the people who use these archetypes more choices in strategies as well as let them have more then once kind of extra deck monster that also specifically aid the archetype. I mean its been confirmed that one Link Monsters are being made for older archetypes like E Hero and Cyber Dragon, so why don't they take that opportunity to do this.

Yeah it’s a long list but I’m a dreamer and a big fan of this game and I want to help keep the series alive for a long as possible. So what do you think? What archetypes do you want to see get more cards ? Reblog with your response.

Dadvid Appreciation Week

Also known as ‘Take Back The Dad and Cut Out the Bad’ Week.

Because as someone who has been in this fandom since before the show even began, there has been one consistent annoyance in this fandom since, and I think you all know what it is.

I, much like many others in this fandom, are tired of Ma///x//vid. It’s disgusting, it’s obnoxious, and it’s a ton of other problems I don’t have the energy to list out. I’ve been tired of it since it first reared its ugly head last year during season one, so over a year ago, I helped to get the Dadvid AU train rolling here on Tumblr as an attempt to balance out the constant stream of Ma///xv//id on both here and on Ao3.

And for a while it worked! There was so much Dadvid and so much less gross shipping! But not only has the ship resurfaced in full force, the shippers have latched onto the Dadvid AU, making it impossible to know if someone who likes the AU is secretly a gross shipper, therefore adding a ton of bad implications to that supposedly-innocent art of David and Max being a nice family. And I don’t know about all of you, but I’m tired of it. I’m tired, I’m bitter, and honestly? I’m super petty!

So I’m hosting Dadvid Appreciation Week. From October 22 to October 28 (Week before my birthday; fun fact!) we will celebrate Dadvid content in all its glory and the beautiful platonic father-son relationship between David and Max that we love so much! There will be a theme for each day, but heck, you don’t necessarily have to stick to it nor do you have to do every single day if you don’t have the energy or inspiration. Draw, write, even come up with headcanons or AUs, nearly any sort of content is welcome!

There are only a few rules for the week, centered around one big rule:

NO MAXVID SHIPPERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WEEK. PERIOD. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Now, obviously, I cannot stop them if they decide to draw or create something. But keep in mind, I have a LONG blacklist/Tumblr Savior list, and I do my best to check and make sure artists don’t ship the ship before I reblog from them. So none of their art or content will be counted as part of the celebration week if I have anything to say about it. This is a week to take back Dadvid and make it a safe and comforting AU again, away from shipping and nastiness. And even if it doesn’t work, I’m willing to try. Because I love this AU to death, I’ve watched it grow and blossom over the past year, and it deserves better than to be supported by people who also want the two people in it to be in a romantic relationship.

“But hey, it’s a fictional ship!” Yeah, and I’m feeling REAL annoyed feelings towards people who support it. I’ve tried blocking and blacklisting, I’ve tried being polite, I’ve tried creating a space where people who don’t like the ship could express themselves safely, And the shippers have stuck their noses into places they were not wanted every single time. So now I have to print it in big, bold letters and make it completely 100% obvious.

Some other rules, less major than the big one, but still important:

Don’t harass Ma//x///v/id shippers during this week. Yes, they are gross and awful, I will not deny this. In fact, I would scream it from a rooftop with a megaphone if I could. But I’ve never been fond of telling them to go kill themselves or calling a group that is (let’s be real) mostly composed of teens pedophiles because...no, that’s not necessarily true. Gross? Yes? But pedophiles is a stretch. Now the ADULT shippers, there’s some debate there and also they’re MUCH more gross than the other shippers. But the kids and teens? No. I want this to be a week of fun for those of us who don’t ship it, and we shouldn’t let them spoil it for us. Don’t harass them, don’t interact with them, don’t even instigate a fight if they don’t listen and try to participate despite not being welcomed. Which brings me to my next point.

Don’t harass them...but don’t give them attention either. Trust me, the worst thing you can do to an artist is not give them attention at all. Cut them out, don’t reblog or like their stuff at all. Be careful who you reblog from. I myself am going to do my best NOT to reblog from shippers but if I slip up, please tell me and I will delete the post immediately. Make it clear that this week is not for them, that this AU is not for them. Hell, you can keep it up after the week is done. In fact, it’s encouraged! Stop giving them attention period. I don’t care how nice their art style is, it’s worthless if they support a pedophilic ship. And we as a fandom should be more strict and critical of the art we reblog and from whom. Now, again that doesn’t mean lashing out and telling artists to kill themselves, but do make it clear that their choice to support a gross ship has consequences that carry over to the rest of their content.

Off the topic of them, NO NSFW ART. Kinda obvious but...you know. This is a nice week, let’s not make things gross. I mean, blood I can understand because Max is a scrappy kid, but let’s not take things to a nasty sexual place. Again, obvious, but sometimes the obvious needs to be said.

This might be a weird rule, but if you’re going to draw content for the week, Don’t Whitewash Max. You have full access to his different shades of his skin tone in screencaps, use them properly. In fact, here’s a whole masterpost of them in case you need them! Don’t make him look washed out and sickly and pale. This is another problem the fandom has and we might as well work on it this week, too. Don’t give him pale skin and don’t get rid of his beautiful curly hair. (Also whitewashing is a problem I’ve seen a TON of Ma///x///vid shippers have, where they make him look super pale, almost like some kind of anime character and make his hair straight and not poofy at all. To the point where it sometimes only BARELY looks like him. So there’s another excuse not to do it, other than it being really racist.) On top of it being a week of nice content with David and Max in a happy father-son relationship, it can be a week where we all work to improve our art skills for the better, too! Win-win!

Other than that, go wild! A list of each day’s theme will be posted sometime in the future before the actual appreciation week (and once I finish coming up with them).

Let’s take this AU back and made it fun and safe again. Or at least, let’s make some nice Dadvid content without gross, uncomfortable implications behind it.

“Everyone’s staring at us.” Chidi murmured as he leaned against the bar, fiddling with the end of his tie yet again as Eleanor poured them both a drink.

“That’s probably because they know we’re gonna crush them in the costume contest.” she replied smoothly as she set his Jack and Coke down next to him and swatted his hands away from the tie. “Now stop fussing, I had this looking perfectly windswept when we got here”.

He rolled his eyes, but allowed her to loosen the knot and toss the thinner end over his shoulder. “You know,” he began as she stepped back and gave him a satisfied once-over before taking a sip from her own glass, “when Tahani said she wanted to use this event to ‘maintain a terrestrial calendar on this celestial plane’ I didn’t really think she meant she was holding a Halloween party”.

Eleanor shrugged. “Works for me, dude. Halloween is clearly the best holiday to begin with, why not start there?” Chidi raised his eyebrows questioningly, and she let out a soft huff before placing her drink back on the bar and counting off on her fingers; “One, you don’t have to deal with any family. Second, it’s spooky as all heck and that’s always fun. Three, free candy everywhere. And, it’s kind of fun to pretend to be someone else for a night”.

“I suppose I can see the appeal of that,” he grinned as he looked her up and down in turn, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you look so….professional. Not that it’s a bad thing!” he rushed to explain as she narrowed her eyes and opened her mouth to retort, the back of her neck slightly flushed,. “It’s just different for you. A good different”.

Her eyes popped open for a split second, before narrowing again, this time accompanied by a small but wicked grin. “A good different, huh?” She stepped closer, one arm snaking up and around his shoulders while she began to lightly trace the “S” symbol barely visible through his half unbuttoned shirt; fingers running teasingly across his chest. “Why Mr. Kent, if you keep talking like that, a girl might get the idea that you’ve got a thing for pencil skirts and suit vests”.

“Well now, Miss Lane,” he began, resting his hands on her hips as he pulled her closer still and reveling in the rush of heat that ran through him as her grin widened and she looked up at him with eyes slightly darker than their usual blue, “I wouldn’t want to give anyone the wrong idea”. The hand that had been drawing symbols on his chest joined the other and wrapped behind his neck as he ducked his head slightly to bring it closer to hers. “I very much have a thing for-”

“Eleanor! Chidi!”

The two jumped apart with a start - and a muttered “fork” from Eleanor - to see Denise making her way towards them, moving slower than usual as she fought against what looked like a large white sheet wrapped around her. “Hey guys,” she huffed as she finally reached them, “great party, huh?”

“Yeah, great.” Eleanor muttered through gritted teeth. She didn’t have a problem with Denise, per say. It was just that lately every time she and Chidi had a moment alone together, there she was, butting in and ruining it. As she stewed silently, she vaguely heard Chidi ask Denise about her costume.

“Oh!” she chirped excitedly, “Hang on, it makes more sense if I put on the…” she trailed off as she reached into some hidden pocket in her sheet-toga and pulled out a long white beard. Fixing it around her head with the attached elastic band, she straightened up fully and pointed to the large, homemade label encircling her waist. “I’m Plato! Get it? Play doh…Plato?”

Eleanor squinted at the outfit, still slightly confused, before Chidi startled her by letting out a deep chuckle. “That’s actually very clever Denise. Great job”. The other woman beamed at him, and Eleanor felt her mouth curve into a scowl. That was the other reason she was feeling strange around Denise - the woman practically mooned over Chidi. And she was such an infuriatingly sweet person, Eleanor could never be 100% sure if Denise was actually flirting with her soul mate, or if she was just being nice for the sake of being nice. No matter what she did, she couldn’t figure out Denise’s game, and it was really starting to get to her.

“Thank so much Chidi!” Denise exclaimed happily. “Now let me see you two, hmmm…” She surveyed the both of them, tapping a finger against a point on her chin covered by the fake beard. “Chidi, you of course, are Superman, good choice - it suits you.” she gave him one more grin before turning her head towards Eleanor. “And Eleanor, you’re….his secretary?”

Eleanor froze, so taken aback that for a moment she couldn’t find words, which was highly unusual for her. “No, I- I’m Lois Lane.” Denise continued to smile at her. “The Lois Lane.” she continued, waving the Daily Planet ID badge she had made herself a few hours ago in front of her.

“That’s nice.” Denise replied with that same banal, pleasant smile. Eleanor didn’t like the look in her eyes as she studied the blonde. It made her feel…..lesser. Like she was being overlooked because she wasn’t good enough. She hated that feeling. It reminded her of all the other ways she wasn’t sure if she was good enough.

“Well, I should go,” Denise continued, “Gunnar’s saving me a spot at the pumpkin carving table, but it was so nice to see you both. Have a great night, Superman and…” she paused for a moment, as if at a loss for words, then snapped her fingers in recognition “Lois!” And with that, she turned and started to shuffle away, a corner of her toga coming loose and trailing after her.

The moment she was out of earshot, Eleanor spun back to face Chidi, fuming. “Can you believe her? ‘That’s nice’, give me a break. Like she wouldn’t recognize Lois Lane.”

“…..Well…” Chidi began, then instantly held his hands up in mock surrender as Eleanor glared at him, “I’m just saying, it’s not the most unbelievable thing. Lois doesn’t have anything as obvious as a super-suit to identify her with”.

“Lois Lane doesn’t need a super-suit,” Eleanor sniffed, “she’s an institution. And she’s super hot.” Chidi shoot an amused smirk in her direction, but she continued undeterred. “Like, smoking hot - every Lois Lane ever. The 70′s movies? Hot. The show in the 90′s? Hot. That newer show, where they were all teenagers? Ugh, I started watching that because of how hot Lois was”.

“Is there a point to this particular train of thought?” Chidi interrupted, but his smirk had turned into an indulging sort of smile.

“The point, you dork,” she went on with a gentle slap to his arm, “is that I am continuing a very impressive legacy of hotness that you should be grateful to be included in. Lois is a huge part of Superman’s story - I bet you he wouldn’t have done half the big heroic things he has if Lois wasn’t there”.

Chidi leaned back against the bar, considering. “But isn’t the reason he does half of the heroic things he does because he has to save Lois from whatever trouble she’s gotten herself into?”

“Because she was too busy being a badash!” Eleanor shot back. “Lois Lane is an amazing reporter who doesn’t take shirt from anyone and always gets her story. Yeah, she can cause trouble sometimes, and maybe she’s a little abrasive and sarcastic, but” she glanced down at her feet for a moment, and Chidi suddenly understood why she was so passionate about this “but that’s just as good as being, like, a stupid ethics pun, or whatever. Right?”

Chidi stood straight and wrapped his arms around Eleanor’s shoulders, drawing her close to him as he said with a grin “As far as I’m concerned, there’s no contest”. It wasn’t saying much, it wasn’t even saying a fraction of the feelings he had for the woman in front of him, but she beamed and wrapped her arms around him, and he decided that it was enough for now.

He held her close, savoring the way she fit so perfectly in his arms, but she must have rubbed off on him because he couldn’t keep himself from making one last comment; “She does fall off a lot of buildings though”.

Eleanor pulled back slightly and fixed him with a look that clearly said ‘really?’. “Jeez, you are such a nerd”.

“But I’m your nerd” he replied happily. She rolled her eyes, but still leaned up on her toes to press a kiss to his lips, so he considered it a win. “Hey,” he began as she pulled away, “Want to go bob for apples?”

“Or,” she countered, a playful look in her eyes as she slowly began to back towards the ballroom doors, lightly tugging him along with her, “We could sneak over to the flight pad and really bring these costumes to life”.

“What- no, wait, Eleanor, no!” he sputtered “The flight pad is off limits on holidays!”

She let out an excited giggle “Oh come on! Where’s the fun of flying around as Los Lane without a Superman there with me?” she pulled lightly on his arm again, and this time, she looked so excited, he couldn’t help but let her. “Come on Cheedster!” she laughed as they burst through the doors into the night air, “Up up and away!”

Bullying.

Super random.

As a kid who was bullied less by other students and more so by teachers.

I was bullied for my brain not matching my exterior. Being an embassy brat, when I came to the US for school I often was and still act like a foreigner in my own country. But I am a blonde white girl. So this was never well received. Not grasping certain things was seen as an act, or attention seeking. If I had the nerve to correct a teacher on something about a country I lived in. I was shot down in a publicly humiliating manor to ensure I knew my place. If I looked like someone from that country I gurantee they would have actually opened up the floor for me to discuss my homeland.

When I did start gaining weight due to an emotional trigger. I did still for some reason always maintain confidence in other areas. Like I knew I was getting chubby and fatter. But was like meh, whatever I'm still smart, funny and can draw. Heck I'm still a beast in PE. Running sucks but I can still do other shit. So I wasn't always picked last. I still had friends. If my weight was mocked I kind of got it and was like yah I did get fat but I can loose it. I was always active so it was never hard to lose a lil chub. Sadly I did go way past chub into super fat town and man losing that shit was hard and daunting. Still was the same me no matter what school I went to. Still made friends.

The only people I got super offended by when they made fun of my weight was the teachers. Because again, your an Adult picking on a kid. That is a low blow a cheap shot. Remarkably my bad grades have nothing to do with being fat. I don't go home and be like oh donuts well no time for school work. I will always have a learning disability, and a massive sleep disorder. Meds do help. I hate being one of THOSE people who fall under the excuses department but it is like night and day. It is not as simple as stfu and pay attention. I even got mad at myself thinking I was dumb because of this. Like yup, those honors classes you take now are just because of the meds. Your actually an idiot. Why do you take those AND a special class, why do you still take your tests in the library or have to read in total silence? Your dumb that's why! So I went off my meds to prove a point. The point wound up being my grades dropped and everything was so much more of a struggle. The stress was awful. It was the stupidest thing I could have done to myself. But just in case other generations feel that learning disabilities are cop outs. Please know. They aren't. Infact some people get tested for adult learning disabilities and it changes their lives.

Anyway, on back to bullying.

At one school, when I was first gaining the weight. I still had friends. I was still given the frog eye because of my white girl forgienerism, thankfully at that time I was in a private school and the teachers did not bully me about it because new flash private schools get military brats. Though I always had to write papers on countries I hadn't been to. Good call actually.

But here is the kicker. Though my bullying did not really start until public schools. Again I cannot stress enough that what was done by teachers was far more damaging then anything some kid could say.

I did, possibly unlike some bullied.

I always noticed who else was bullied.

I'm an odd lil bird in that, while I could be entirely self absorbed and be all about me. I remember who and why other kids for bullied.

I bet most people will think since I got bullied for being plump I only root for body positivity of the plump sort. You couldn't be more wrong.

The ONE person who had it the worst at the private school, was a tall lanky girl. She wanted the same thing all us girls wanted. To be like the cool girls at the time. She was thin due to her incredible metabolism, and her height, she was shy, and due to being made stand out, only getting shier. She was one of the first people I remember talking on my first day of school other then Rosemary a girl who just was genuinely cute and nice. I've yet to meet a Rosemary who wasn't. I get a whisper from a fellow student not to talk to this thin girl too much. I'm like.....why? Their like, well she's just kind of strange. I'm like, I'm new, so logically I'm gonna be the resident strange kid for a while. But how is she strange exactly. She just seems quite. Their like exactly. I'm like, 11 and confused af. I'm like, wait why is being quite weird in a bad way? Before I could spit most of that out the teacher agree on my suggestion of being quite. Being a embassy brat, I had NO probably striking up new convos with perfect strangers. Ie kids at a school I just met. Before the hell that was HS. I was anything BUT shy. When you move around a lot you need to make friends fast. That and I was born not giving a shit and thinking I was the shit. Before the weight gain I assure you I was cute as hell with attitude to spare. So I was not entirely wrong.

I didn't let this why is silent bad thing go. I still talked to this mysterious thin girl. I sat with her at lunch. Prior to that I kept asking why her just being quite was bad. They said it just made them uncomfortable. I did ask the obvious of did it ever occur to you guys that you treating her weird makes her silent. Their like no she came that way. I couldn't argue because a lot of these kids did know eachother since kindergarten so ya know. They maybe right even if it is wrong. In case you have not guessed. Being raised an only kid, overseas you have bennies of being treated like an adult and being more logical then a kid the same age. Hence why I sound more adult in this story cuz I always was even if I still enjoyed childish endeavors *Like I still do*

Here is the heart breaker. The thin girl at lunch enjoyed my company. I made her laugh a lot that day and got her talking *novel concept when you reach out to someone* at the end of lunch though. She said, this was nice but ya know you shouldn't really hang around me the other kids will black ball you. I'm like yeah, I don't care. She's like no, you should. I appreciate it, but another group has tried and the other kids make life hard on them. I'm like well I extra don't care. I said your kind of in luck. I don't stay at schools very long so by the time they do that to me I will probably be moving. Plus being the new kid I will be resident weirdo for a while. I can play dumb for a long time and befriend the black balled.

I told her which, I don't get why. I said, being shy is the last reason someone should be pushed aside. Granted it took me a few times to get you to talk BUT I gotcha damnit *swearing in Catholic school woot* *at a whisper less woot*

So I made friends, with the very group she spoke of who had made efforts to friend her. I also was friends with other groups. Including 2 class clowns, 2 twin black girls who too me for forever to realize they were twins. I had one jerk kid who ironically was a pretty chubby dude to be so judgy about me being a chubby chick. But I still was friends with thin girl be damned. Needed a book shared in class and no one would share with her. ME! And don't be fooled our one class clown never had a homework buddy because surprise ppl thought he couldn't be serious. ME! I think the funniest thing that happened at that school was rainy day recess where class was divided up for games. Started up with normal dictionary teams. Then Okay Megan is really good at this, let's pair her with the one person who isn't. Okay still really good at this both drawing and guessing. Let's make the team's be class vs Megan. It's only fair. Sorry it still amuses me. My one glory day.

Back to bullying.

Though at the private school, bullying was far minimal. and kids really had to be imaginative. Since we all wore uniforms. Kids had to be like, well they make us laugh, but he's probably not serious about his hw. Woo. Wow. Lame. She's too quite. So lame. She's too smart. All of these are so damn lame. And let's face it none are bad qualities. Sorry the kid finds hw boring and is a quick whit. You actually have to be smart to be fast in humor. She's quite. So she's reserved and actually nice if you reach out. Your only too smart if you can't use your book sense.

Now, public school. Girl was made fun of for being too thin, having the nerve to go through puberty *ie acne* and also was very shy, if not stand offish, not dressing nice enough. If anything, id say she tried to look her worst regardless of what students said. I could go on about warning signs this child had. My mom caught them instantly. Did the school? NO

Turns out she was being molested by her stepdad. Like, srsly. My mom met her once and got it. Oy. So sad. I have a lot of guilt for not being able to communicate better with her though.

Anyway, another girl, got made fun of for having big boobs which she hated especially during PE. I don't blame her.

Yet another girl made fun of for being too thin. She was petite and had all brothers. So she was small and mean.

Another girl was shaped more like a guy and strong. She excelled in some PE sports but still made fun of.

Guys, same deal. If they had curly hair that's a pain to style. Chubby but not good at sports. And idky other kids care if you are good at grades or not? Like, we all have the same hw if you can spell congrats. Some ppl have dyslexia so ya know kindly fuck off.

Why does a grade make you popular or not?

It's odd to me. It's like, you need to get good grades but not TOO GOOD cuz then your too smart and it's also weird. Public school bullying. Lawd have mercy. Talk about a new level of awful.

Again, I was attacked publically by teachers. Who decided I was infact fat and stupid and somehow cheating at art?

I had art taken away from me as it was a distraction. Since I was bad at reading out loud all of my work was to be delivered in this fashion. I corrected a teacher on some foreign affairs, as he got locations, pronunciation, law, and well just a fucking lot wrong about a country I lived in for so long. I held myself back on so much but it was like he was getting everything confused with an entirely different country. For one thing he was still mentioning a city by it's old name. Like omg update

your book man!!! When I finally sad something he blew a stack and made sure everyone in the class was aware of how fat and ignorant I was.

When I told my parents. Boy did they come undone. At the parent teacher conference this same teacher said "if Megan would put down the donuts and study this wouldn't be an issue" yah my dad pinned him to a wall by his neck. Mind you this was after he had already

Made repeated digs at me, my family, and pretty much anything we could stand for. My parents also made the argument that if a student was a concert pianist or a ballet dancer. Would they take away their craft? No. So why take away my art? Both piano and ballet are considered art. Needless to say this battle of the teachers vs parents and all the horrible things they said and did was not over. Two shrinks were involved, and the state was called in. Their shrink and our shrink. The shrinks wound up agreeing and asked the state to come in for a learning disability test. Hence me first getting diagnosed. The shrinks also needed the teachers to understand something. They brought my mom in, since the one teacher now feared my father *not that my mom couldn't take him* the teachers sat down, the shrinks showed them pics of me thin and active and the dates. They show me chubby then thin again due to being an active kid. They then ask when my recent weight gain started. My mom didn't even hesitate she just took off her wig from cancer to reveal her bald head and said about when this happened. She said she was studying to finalize some culinary school work at a local college. She said she knows her daughter felt food was an emotional way to be close to her. My shrink said. Sometimes fat is better then too thin. You can lose fat. You can't undo the damages of too thin if bulimia sets in.

So you'd think the teachers would back off. Ha. No. That one male teacher persisted that everyone has problems and I needed to suck it up. I was now all of 12. He loved making fun of me. I also noticed, though I was his favorite to pick on. I was not alone. He hated anyone who could not read out loud flawlessly. He hated anyone who was not athletic and bragged about his triathlons to this day I get an eye tick around the word. Friend of mine was a solid A student. Read flawlessly outloud. But guess what she had some small kid pudge on her. The second her history teacher went into his class. There goes her straight As. She got a B- in his class. Never on tests with multiple choice, just written work and general performance. Ya know subjective stuff. Not shady at all. Mom got wind and had enough. She sat in his class one day. In my friends class no less. Not mine on purpose. She sat their and made fun of him the way he did us. She's like hey kids, I know this guy makes fun of all the students. Let's make fun of him the same way. Isn't he kind of short? Like really short. I met his wife, he must use a step ladder to kiss her. He's also bald. Notice how he only keeps pictures of himself in tight triathlon clothes or old pics with long hair. Think he's compensating for something?? Who keeps pics of themselves on their desk!?! My husband has his family. Self centered much?

And what's with those triathlons anyway?

We notice you hate fatties. Were you a fatty? Do you run from calories? Did a fatty break your heart? What is it? Why do you hate them So? She's like, actually, it doesn't matter. Whatever your problem is it should not be taken out on children. My mom continued. She's like, ya know why he picks on you kids. One your the only people smaller then him. Two he is to cowardly to stand up to other adults. My husband pinned him against a wall and his eyes nearly popped out of his head from terror. Yeah. All talk this little fart. He obviously was livid talking over her saying she can't do this, he's calling the cops for trespassing.

Apparently when she opened the room up to the kids to pick at him they had a bunch of weird shit they noticed he does. One kid said he's just jealous because everyone likes his wife as a teacher better. That's why he made her stay home with the kids or keep having a kid. She's like everyone liked her? Whole room was like best teacher award every year!

Lol this dude didn't speak for days he was just fuming. It got better when, guess what my mom met his wife and put on her best cute, sweet innocent lady routine. I remember walking to our truck, douche teacher behind me. *cuz of course I had to stay after in his class for some kind of punishment*

His wife was all smiles at my mom, looked over at him with such a look. My mom had an evil smile looking at him like. Checkmate mother fucker. I sat in the truck, waiting for her. Dressed daper. Smiling. She sets behind the wheel, we drive off. She's like well we tried the proper channels first. He made me play dirty but I assure you the war is over.

So, turns out, his wife was a loved teacher BECAUSE she had a lot of patience for her students and taught both standard and kids with learning disabilities. So to say she was understanding is an understatement. I mean, my mom didn't know this when speaking to her. It was actually a whim, when she saw her while waiting to pick me up and just got to talking.

Anyway, the point of this INSANELY long post.

Is as a kid that was not so much bullied by peers as much as by teachers. I also was not always bullied about my weight as much as just being considered an attention seeking liar THEN my intelligence and weight was thrown in for extra damage.

It is true, the book by its cover. I am still a foreigner in a American white girl body. I still have some wires crossed. I still don't know all customs or referrences. My spelling is bad. My accent isnt. Family was 2 people. My perspective is Global. Africa, Asia, an American Farm is my background.

Bullying, just cuz I got fat. Doesn't mean I didn't see the people who got made fun of for being too thin. Before I stopped struggling in school. I noticed kids got bullied for their grades. As if the school and parents are not going to add enough pressure. If you have a talent that is not a sport or a musical instrument. You are not of value. Which is funny in a society that worships actors and models. All of whom rarely look a thin like they look like now in school.

There have been a lot of school shootings over the years. I remember when Columbine happened.

Remember early on in my status of the thin girl? Regardless of people telling me again and again that I would be some social pyria for being nice to her. I still did it. Over and over. I did more to make myself look stupid then she ever could have. Nothing ever happened to me because of her. Even if it had. I wouldn't have cared. Because I had a friend in her. We would at least be weirdos together was my logic.

If you make the effort. More then once. Because some shells are really hard to crack. Because some people have been hurt a lot. At least you tried. In COLLEGE none the less. My roommate and I met quite possibly the most socially awkward creature alive. We tried repeatedly to make friends or at least make peace with this creature. To no damn ivale. Senior yr this person asked me why no one likes them. I told them that wasn't fair because we all have made efforts to involve them in groups, shinnangans, hang out, we even through JUST them a birthday party. We have all made the effort. It's a two way street. I said basically you want friends like robots. You want us to turn on when you want us and power down in an instant when you are done with us and offer nothing in return. You also cannot be rude to ppl and expect forgiveness when there is really no foundation or trust built. We can say honest things because we know that friend is a friend and is sincere and cares for our best interest. You tend to think blurting out something offensive saying no offensive it's just my opinion and smiling is some how okay. It's just awkward.

So in that particular occassion. 4 years. My friend and I, as well as others. Genuinely tried to make friends or something with this person. Some people just want or view friendship differently. They may find a perfect fit later who is not you. But DAMNIT you tried. With bullying I just want people to reach out.

And if you see someone IN THE PROCESS of being bullied. Get off your ass and intervene.

Believe it or not, confusion is a great tactic.

Say 3 ppl are picking on a kid at lunch in your school. You could approach and interupt. You do not have to get personal. If they pick on you next. Point that out. Like what tools they are that that is all they can do. Bring friends over to help break it up. Honestly when I say confusion is a great weapon I mean it. Make up gibberish and start talking like that. Speak another language the bullies won't know. Anything that will just frustrate them and make them leave. Essentially your goal is to not engage with them, be as annoying as possible and make them leave. Another strategy is to be as agreeable as possible, so sickeningly friendly that they also lose their momentum. Gauge your situation, the energy and see which would work best. They sound absurd but diffusing a situation is far better.

The key is, don't sit by and let someone suffer.

Don't join in. Also guess what. As juicey and fun as gossip seems especially in school. Guess what, it's usually lies and incredibly harmful. If you partake you are an accessory to bullying. Shocking I know.

Learning how stop gossip in it's tracks when you are young is a great life lesson.

Sadly you will run into gossip at all stages of life. So stopping it, ...as best you can. When your young. Can safe a life!

The thing about gossip. If people don't have good dirt on someone, they will make shit up. Movies like Mean Girls and Easy A point this out. I've heard gossip about myself or friends and some is almost laughable how ridiculous it is. But going up to someone and being like hey is it true this that or the other. Or treating them different all of a sudden. As if we also don't hear the whispers.

Gossip is just a form of bullying. So think about it as being an accessory to a crime. It is equally as serious. Like a crime, you have the power to stop it.

So many people talk of the mass shootings, what about the kids who are as young as 8 taking their own lives due to bullying.

I really cannot stress enough, to please, if you see someone being bullied. Help that victim in the moment. Step in, bring back up. Be confusing. Be nice. Be whatever it takes to save a life or lives.

Also it is clear the bullying is caused from something. Usually bullies are being bullied themselves or have some sort of problem.

I remember reading one story of a bully who came unhinged over the smallest thing. Would lie in wait and actually burned another child with scalding hot water. Now that story was a case for mental illness. Which brings me to a situation. If a person is a bully and being bullied by someone else. Like another sibling, a parent, or so forth. That is rough because really not everyone can afford counseling which is what that would require. Next if someone is displaying violence due to a mental illness that too would require counseling, psychiatric and possibly medication down the road. All expensive.

It's not fair that mental healthcare of any kind is a luxury. When no one chooses to have mental health issues. Most insurance companies only allow so many visits. Not nearly enough to scratch the surface of a garden much less the human mind. Plus if medication was involved, that is such an arguous process. Any mental health medication is a huge battle of trial and error and all medications take a while to get into your system. For one to be properly judged for mental health, has to be in your system long enough for you to have had your moods elevated. Essentially were you challenged at all in 6 months time? Did you have a reason to get angry, or be depressed. Anything to trigger mood swings to see how the medication altered your brains reaction.

I mean damn. That is a lot to wait for, and rarely does the first shoe fit.

After working in a local ER. I realized how sad, and how many holes are in our health care system. How long people have to wait to see anyone. How long for a room to become available. How short your treatment is.

At the same turn. When you come across none feeling bullies. The type they tell young kids to kill themselves. That hound them every day and night. Stalk them on any outlet they can find. Because they have nothing better to do then bring one person misery. When do they become accountable?

I do believe some bullies need help to stop the cycle. I also believe some have shown signs that they live a charmed life, are not bullied themselves and show no signs of a mental illness. They have admitted to just being board. *maybe the mental illness is in the path family ;>_>*

Anyway, for those few bullies that qualify. I just wonder if they should be held accountable for say a wrongful death. If the person they taunted or catfished killed themselves.

I often think that because bullying has no consequences that that is why it continues.

That if it had something truly scary to face. Maybe then kids would cut the shit.

We all know, those who have been bullied. That if you talk to an authority figure. Absolutely NOTHING happens. You still get bullied.

ladies. Hahaha isn't that rich?

And what of those rare occasions where those teachers where beaten by students on a gang like scene? What then?

Or in reverse in my situation? Where I was bullied for the majority of my life BY the faculty. Who do I turn to in a school and say, your staff is picking on me?

My last job had a bullying situation.

It was unbelievable to watch unfold. It wasn't even in my department per say. In the employee handbook it said they took bullying seriously. They had a senior staff member who was a out of control bully. She had great work history, but I guess her head got too big. She bullied everyone something awful and they lost countless people due to it. Here's the thing, while she did EVENTUALLY get fired for bullying. It took a while. A lot of new employees where very honest about why they were leaving. Many current employees made it known that all the reasons things never progressed or moral was low was bullying. Apparently this was brought up in staff meetings but went no where. It finally came to a head when they got a new boss on the floor, and a long time employee moved from one department down to that one. I guess her statement was more believable then that of new employees saying I'm leaving because I was bullying.

The thing that bothers me is. A why would a new employee lie? A new employee wants to fit in. They want to do there best. They have to learn the motion of the ocean real quick. They wanted that job. I doubt they wanted to leave that job so quickly. For one it never looks good on a resume. Do you know how defeating it is to be bullied that bad into leaving?

That is why I find it sad they did not listen to the previous statements. I understand that for a bullying case to stick. I guess they needed plenty of evidence. I know they certainly had it.

But in the case of schools. A friend of mine teachers whee toddlers. From babies to 3yr olds. And she has told me how early they start bullying.

Back to my statement on whether it's mental illness, they are being bullied elsewhere or if nothing at all is wrong. Are factors. Because listening to her. She has seen all three that young already and it's like wow if you can catch it that early. Again we could save lives on both sides of the situation.

At least imho haha

idk my relationship w cu is weird bc honestly? i dont fucking know

aight so the facts: i actually first heard abt fate cu from a cosplay upperclassmen in college who i went to a con with, id seen cu around but i was always just like “oh, hes some anime boy. hes too anime. hes too blue.” anyways i saw an ep of cp on their recommendation but not knowing shit abt fate i didnt really have any interest.

TIME SKIP to 2015ish fall, when id gotten into fgo on a whim bc it had mozart apparently! and i basically have an ahoge radar for all things mozart (esp mozart + anime, bless that). tho honestly it was easy to stick with, even with the language barrier and playing on an emulator (i was used to that from tourabu/kancolle) because of the characters- mashu, olga, dr roman especially. i liked the servants too and the whole “anime historical figures” thing- they were cute and they were historical/legend figures i was fond of already or at least could be like “oh! i know you!” (galahad, robin hood, darius, marie, and ofc mozart)

so things really heated up ish? when cascu first appeared. i thought he was cool, pretty, ect. but was terrified hed end up being a “plot twist villain uwu” (hans trauma?) ngl i was freaking out when he makes mashu fight him bc i couldnt read the heckin text. but anyways for cascu especially id fallen way harder than i thought, id gotten invested in this shit- hell id even gotten the forbidden feelings. but it is what it is, and it happened.

so naturally, i started looking into more fate series stuff. i knew of the main fuyuki storylines, at the time ubw was on netflix, so i saw it there one rainy day. i never really got super into it but it was kinda nice to see these anime versions of historical figures i knew or knew of. of course, including a certain hound of ulster

idk when it really hit off? i think i liked diarmuid more at first since he looked “less anime” somehow. haha. idk my logic. i guess bc his outfit is in more subdued colors than cu’s bright blue? but i def liked the lancers. the tragic element in their stories and kinda the angst? whump? call it what you will they have to deal with in the fate plotlines was def a draw as well.

and surprisingly enough that peaked for me in carnival phantasm. the comedy parody. the comedy parody where cu dies painfully every episode at least once. yeah, u can see where im going with this. but that was kinda the spark that got me more and more into him- cascu was still my main squeeze, he was the gateway, the one hecker responsible for getting me hooked, but lancer was certainly cute too.

honestly rn idk what my feelings are exactly, and i dont mean that the way it sounds im almost inclined to say. i kinda know, feel, something? what they are, i just dont really know how to express it in an actual cohesive way. ive tried shipping cu in canon (popular canon ships that is) but that always felt really fake to me, like i wasn’t really invested (and tbh i wasnt. maybe in individual characters, mildly, but not in the “ship”, and def more in cu than whoever he was paired with). ive tried self shipping with him (or self inserting? i suppose is more technical) but that felt bad to me too- fake, off, ect. its not that i dont like his character, bc i do- ive got a handful of cu things at my desk and i smile every time i see him. my cu in game, whos been with me since 2015, is about 30,000 points from bond level 10. would i get a body pillow of cu? absolutely.

but its.... its different from the sort of feelings i feel for a lot of the others. all the granblue cast are newer (relatively, i started it a yr after fate, but am way less active haha), heck a lot of my main faves are like super super new- sal’s been here barely a year, izou even less, and nizou i only found out abt abt 8 months ago. same goes for most of my other faves. hans is longer (longer than cu by at least a year), but its different with him- probably because i connect to his personal traumatic experiences with similar ones of my own. i feel like we both are scarred by these things and we’d heal each other from this similar experience. and unlike sal or izou, he’s someone ive known for abt 5 years now- we’ve got that history together.

cu is different tho. ive known him for almost 4 years (longer if you count the first time i saw a fate thing, even longer than that if you count the historical cu, who i first learned abt when i was a toddler by chance), but i never even considered conventional, structured “self shipping” or “self insert” things with him. i did something akin to it, in passing daydreams, if i needed someone to kind of be in his role, he was there. he was a character i cared about and had strong feelings for. he was strong enough to help me grow, but he’d still be likely to possibly need my help depending on the situation. but thats nothing id classify as “self shipping” the way its structured here for instance.

so tl, dr. i dont blame you this is way long. cu is an important character to me. its not a feeling i want to classify as “romantic” or “platonic” or anything like that, but most of the time seeing other self ships involving him isnt really for me (whether they be romantic/platonic or not), and again, like in my bio, if ive talked to you before abt this regarding lancer its not about you. its a bit misleading since i dont really have anything up about him, but i think its because the typical “appearance” of him im not very fond of, at least within how he’s viewed, especially in regards to relation with the fsn and assorted related work and their cast. i kind of feel as well that everything i said about him previously is just so fake, its borrowed words i put in my mouth to try and voice this that i felt. i honestly don’t know how to word it more than that.
