Just let people enjoy things, even if it's "cringe", even if they "don't understand it", even if they can't explain why they like it, even if it's just a phase. If you just want to enjoy things without being judged or shamed about it, then let others enjoy theirs, even if it pisses you off, it doesn't mean you get to judge someone's interests. Think before you embarrass someone over their taste in anything. If you feel that being judged by your interests is unfair, don't do it to others, that just opens you up to receive the same judgement back. Ask yourself why are you being so judgmental before you say something, because this type of behavior will tell someone else what kind of person you are: someone they don't want to interact with for being cruel, who is ignorant, who is judgemental.

Cringe culture is really about passing judgment on things you don't even know, on the simple fact that you can't see people enjoying whatever they enjoy.

AI is making me so fucking sad and angry and hopeless feeling, my best coping method has been completely devalued and stolen from me and I want to punch someone. I feel like this will be the start of another huge downward spiral for humanity, because who'll bother to create when computers can "create" for you with a fraction of the time and effort? But AI can't create, only recycle, and when we stop creating it'll run out of things to recycle and that's where all of us will stagnate.

I have drawn maybe two sketches in a month, I used to draw daily and make fully rendered shit, but it's like all my passion has been sucked out of me and I have absolutely no desire to create anymore because creating seems worthless.

so I'm seeing a lot of vitriol rn but mostly I'm also seeing a lot of followers and friends being unable to cope with the death threats and the anon hate so I'd just like to remind you that it's okay to turn off anons. Do it! It's quiet and peaceful on the other side and sure you lose those happy anons too but it's worth it, trust me. Another thing is if reading about other people getting hate or seeing people answer/reply to hateful shit stirrers is affecting you, unfollow! It's okay if it's a long time mutual, they'll understand. If you're friends, you'll still be friends. Or if the idea of unfollowing makes you sad, just put them in the filtered content list. It's inbuilt into tumblr (under the general settings tab) and you just take their url and copy paste it in there, and all their posts would be filtered until you're feeling open to seeing their stuff again. there is no shame in doing this honestly, it doesn't make you a shitty friend or a mutual or a blog, and I'd recommend this to big and small blogs who are finding it hard to not feel anxious anytime they visit their dash

It simply means you’re not into some or all of their posts, and that’s fine. Don’t follow or continue following someone out of guilt, just because you think you’ll hurt their feelings. I think it’s important to understand as feminists that misandry is an extension of the patriarchy. Men are hurt by the way they were raised and systems outside of their control to continue to perpetuate the patriarchy. Men are beaten down by each other, taught to not experience emotions or stray from what it means to be a man otherwise “they’re a girl”. This frames girls as bad, weak, something you don’t want to be, and becomes misogyny. It also encourages queerphobia by framing expression different from the norm as wrong or strange.

Yes it is very different and much less than what other groups expect but it’s still a thing! And men often times don’t have the theory or words to communicate this and understand it effectively. Men aren’t inherently evil, but they’re also not just all misunderstood angels. There is nuance in this but I genuinely do not think people on tumblr are equipped to deal with nuance. If we do not talk about men and combat the way the patriarchy effects them, especially young men, we will not be able to build an egalitarian society.
