"Y..You don't..?" You asked softly, a small frown appearing on your lips. "That's your line!" The apparition snapped. "Gah! I-I'm sorry!" You stammered.

"You're sorry?! What?! This isn't the way it works at all!" A voice boomed out, causing you to quickly pull your hands away from Hanako's and look for the owner of the voice. "When someone tells you how they feel, the proper thing to do is reciprocate!" [Lemme just say this, I love the confession tree's voice so freakin much lmao]

Suddenly the world around you both became dark, and the once normal tree began to grow. "What's it d-doing?" You mumbled as Hanako took out his knife and stood in front of you. "Just stay back." He muttered, his Hakujoudai floating around him putting his cape on.

"Hello Kodama, this is my friend, Y/N." Hanako smirked, holding onto you as he pointed his knife at the tree apparition. "Since you only appear to couples, I say it's a good thing I have her, wouldn't you?" He chuckled.

So...it really was all just a lie.

"I am guilty of nothing but healing broken hearts!" The Kodama barked. "I only desire to make everyone happy!" [Hehe, get it? Cause it's a tree and— Okay, I'll stop now-]. Swinging it's branch as Hanako made his move, defeating the tree.

"Ah, makes sense now.." You murmured, looking away from him. "A-anyways, I um..have to get going." You sighed. Then heartache from earlier's 'confession' was still fresh, all you wanted to do was just go home and pretend that the day never happened.

"Hmm? But whyyy?" Hanako groaned, floating over to you. "Oh! I think I know what's going on. You thought it was a real confession, didn't ya?" He teased, placing a hand on your shoulder. But his playful expression soon turned into a shocked one once he saw the tears rolling down your cheeks.

"Why do you always g-get my hopes up?" You whimpered, letting out a shaky breath as you took his hand off your shoulder. Turning to face him, your whimpers turning into small sobs. "I'm s-so done with you p-playing with m-my heart like th-that! Why the hell w-would you kiss m-me on the cheek?! O-Or hold o-onto my hand?!" You cried. "Was it a-all for fun?!"

"Y-You were tired and vulnerable to attacks! I gave you a protection charm so that apparitions couldn't harm you for a w-while!" Hanako explained, stepping away a bit. "You should've s-said that!" You exclaimed, your hands turning into fists. "I'm so d-done with you and your s-stupid tricks! I should've never f-fallen for you!" With that, you turned back around and walked over to the gate. "I gotta g-go..I'll...see you l-later.." you muttered.

Hanako stood there, stunned. Never should've fallen for him? You..you liked him? The way he likes you? Everything he said in the confession was true, he truly did love you, but he needed to take care of the Kodama. He never would've thought that you felt the same. And the fact that he made practically the only person he can really talk to cry? He could never forgive himself.

Just as you were about to walk through the gate, you felt a hand grab your wrist, stopping you. You turned around to face the ghost boy who had his hat off, and such a guilty look on his face. "I'm sorry.." he said softly, adverting his gaze. "Believe me, I never meant to make you cry.." Taking a deep breath, he let out the four words you’ve only dreamt of hearing him say.

“I love you too...”

Your eyes widened slightly, processing what he had just said. Was this another one of his pranks..? No..By the look in his eyes, you could tell this was a sincere confession. "I've loved you for a while now, actually. I just...never plucked up the courage to ever tell you.." Hanako said with a small, sad chuckle. He let go of your wrist and placed his hand softly on your cheek, wiping away the rest of your tears.

"I'm sorry for playing with your feelings, please believe me when I say that was never my intention. I hope that you can...forgive me.." He mumbled. A small blush made it's way to your cheeks as you leaned into his cold yet somehow...warm touch. "Of course.." You said, a soft smile appearing on your face. "And..I love you too..."

Hanako looked into your eyes, his face leaning closer to yours until your lips touched. It wasn't a rough or lusty kiss, it was a soft one that held so much love and adoration. You immediately kissed back, wrapping your arms around his waist to pull him closer to you.

The two of you pulled apart after a few seconds, leaning your foreheads against one another's. "So...What'dya say? You wanna be the girlfriend of the 7th Wonder of The School?" So this sickly little bean is quite weak, especially to the sunlight and heat, so he just lays on a towel under an umbrella quite a ways away from the water

Let's be honest here, even after spending hours out on the beach, despite laying under an umbrella, there's no way he would get tan. He just always has this pale greenish tint that even the sun itself can't fix

You see, the thing about Aitachi, is that he explicitly states that he fears water, swimming, and seafood, so this boi is gonna have a difficult time

He automatically just REFUSED to go near the sea, it scared the poor child so bad he stayed WAY far back from the shoreline.

One thing he did enjoy doing was building various different sand castles, which he did with his buddy Kirr. They had kinda formed a kinship because of their similar backgrounds. They had fun building fortresses with the sand and even brought a lobster over to defend his masterpiece

A little way through he felt that he was keeping Kirr from playing in the water and as a sorry brought him over to a small patch of grass and flowers. He taught him how to make a bead/plant weaved decoration that was a traditional piece his tribe made for hair, to put in Kirr's braid.

Built mini empires in the sand with Aitachi, and really had no intention of getting in the water anyways.

As, as a huntsman he never really learned to enjoy the water. Since he lived in the freezing snowy mountains, he avoided water as much as possible as that meant a guaranteed death, by hypothermia.

Ok, ok, hear me out. So, Kirr rounding up all of the crabs, clams, and lobsters to protect them from the others that wanted to eat them (others = Ethan) for dinner, to capture them. So, he just owns his own colony of marine life.

"The One with the Messages Upon Messages"

Sit down for this. Grab some refreshments. It's gonna get real.

It was 8 AM in the morning when I checked the platform mentioned in my previous post and saw that our class chat was the only empty one. (Well, okay, it's technically a chat for both classes in our year but whatever.) So, it's empty, right? After about five minutes of persuading myself to be brave, I sent the following messages:

S: "...and this is the only empty one left. 🦗🦗"

S: "We officially start [classes] tomorrow, right?"

It didn't take a minute for me to get a response that made my heart stop.

V: "Yes. 🙂"

I completely freaked out, let me tell you. I was not prepared to see that name and profile picture flash up, especially not that soon.

S: "Nice. Until then, I'll learn how to use this platform somehow. 😅"

Bookworm Friend (BWF in texts): "Me too, I think. 😁"

V: "Won't be much of a secret 🙂"

V: "If you'll want to use the video, you'll need a webcamera/your phone's camera and a headset/phone."

S: "I'll manage that, thank you. And I'll find an acceptable backdrop somehow. 😂"

I was ecstatic! 8 AM of Day 0 and we'd already had a conversation. Things simply couldn't get any better than that...

Yeah. I guess I didn't know what was gonna go down yet.

It was about 11:40 AM-ish when I got a Google Classroom notif which made me stop cleaning in my room. There she was, Miss V mode activated, with one bloody long message. Even here, we had to share a course with the other class. Fantastic. I was just about to complain into my diary when a message notification from The Platform That Shall Not Be Named flashed up, sent by someone with a Very familiar profile picture. But only upon opening it, after screaming about it profusely, did I realise that it wasn't sent into the class chat.

V sent me a DM.

V: "Would you please tell [Curly Friend] to give me a valid e-mail address, because I can't send him the classroom code.."

I was bloody losing it. She could've chosen anyone from his class (WE AIN'T EVEN CLASSMATES) or who's friends with him, but no. For whatever reason she might have had for it, V approached me. She wanted my help. And I was honestly incredibly honoured that she did.

S: Sure!

And I immediately slid on over into Curly Friend's DMs to tell him about it. Okay, it was moreso me screaming at him to message her before I die from a cardiac arrest. His response? "Ok calm yo gay ass". Lmao. Nobody's ever told me that before but it was long overdue. And as I was speaking to him, I got another message.

V: "thank you 🙂"

I really need to make a "Thank you!" counter. I'm still entirely sure it's what we say to each other most often.

V: "but you can invite him here, too"

S: "To the English server? I just need to send him the code for that, right? 😅"

V: "yes, i think he'll know what to do"

S: "He definitely will. I'll send it right away."

And then, all was silent for until about an hour, when the folks from the other class started getting active in the chat. And with them, so did V, chatting as eagerly as I've never heard or seen her before. Of course. Classic introvert. Put her behind a screen and she'll thrive. When some guys tried to convince her to give us unlimited time for the upcoming test, she even sent a selfie (A FUCKING SELFIE) where she's with her cat, saying "The kitty tells me not to listen to you." YOU DON'T GET IT THAT IS THE CUTEST SHIT EVER.

Then things went apeshit. From my idiot of a cousin using informal pronouns with V to invite her to a video call (she was chill about it though, just told him not to do it with a smiley) and people cursing casually in the general chatroom meant for everyone in the server, to the other class boys adding some guys who haven't gone to my school for about 3 years now and have nothing to do with V. Things started turning into an animal farm instead of a server and me and my friends were outrageously bored. It took them some convincing, but the result was this DM:

S: "Miss, I know, saving space and we're covering the same thing and stuff, but... can't we separate the two classes instead? Just here, on [The Platform That Shall Not Be Named]. Some of us are starting to go mad."

My friends' circle kept on fuming and I waited. The response arrived in some 10 minutes.

V: "Well, we could."

S: "If it's no trouble for you, Miss, we'd be thankful 😅"

And thus, the woman of so many of my dreams stepped into action, changing from dorky, fun, lower-case-and-emojis V to serious, determined, pristine grammar Miss V seemingly in the blink of an eye. She created two separate chats. Of course, it was not an easy or a fast process, inspiring messages like "put me back into [my class] bitch", that made my blood boil. She threw one of the additional boys out and demanded the other's name. "Those, who won't disclose their real names will be kicked out. Sorry." After he made up some silly ass fake name, V just wrote: "I don't have a student like that, ban." And as we all reacted to it with hysterical laughter in the form of emojis, V just writes: "That's that." AN. ICON. Go home, everybody. V wins.

The next minute, in our fresh, new class chat for only my class this time, the following message arrives:

V: "Dear [Class], I separated the two bunches, because they couldn't behave."

The six thank you–messages that followed (one of them mine) is pretty telling. And V was pretty fucking mad. Before I texted her about it, she was completely silent, but now, she was agitated. Her later message to a girl looking for the class chats writes: "Everyone can only see their own [class], because SOME PEOPLE started trolling the others."

That evening I had homeroom over The Platform That Shall Not Be Named, as my homeroom teacher finally learned how to use it since yesterday's Messenger call, when she mentioned asking V, who was sitting next to her during the faculty meetings all day, to teach her. I would've paid good money to see that, to be honest.

See, guys? This is why I'm so in love with who V is. She's a lovable little dork, yeah, but she's so much more. Always right there when you need her, whatever for, and takes it incredibly seriously until the very second the deed is done. I couldn't be more thankful for having her in my life.

tw animal death, death of a parent

My roommate's cat is being put down tomorrow. He has cancer and chronic pancreatitis. He's too old for the treatment to be worth the cost. And we don't want him to suffer longer.

Thankfully, we can have it done at home. Zachy is 17 and I'm fucking devastated because I've known this really truly excellent cat for a decade. And it fucking sucks. I'm so sad about it. Zachy's been in the apartment with us since we moved in 3 years ago and has been one of the bright spots in my life. I don't know if I'll ever meet another cat like him.

Tomorrow. Zachy will be here only until tomorrow. He seems so normal still.

it has me thinking a lot about death and dying too. Especially since my father is getting close to dying. I'm a lot more upset about Zachy than my father tho lmao. but it really puts it into perspective. it really does all end. It really is that final.

I am really glad to have therapy on tuesday because apparently i have decided to cope by feeling low key jealous of them. Which, ya know, isn't great. But I'm really tired of expectation.

I don't know how I feel about my father. He is the source of such an extensive amount of trauma in my life but fuck that is my dad. At least that was supposed to be my dad. He's 77 and barely eating or getting up anymore. I don't want to age the same way he has.

Happy almost Hump day all!! Here's a (humpback) whale to celebrate! Animal anon has to go away for the next two weeks because she has a BIG multiple day test in exactly 2 weeks that she is super super nervous for! So she will be logging off starting tomorrow until then! Since I have been very nervous, I want to know what is one thing that helps you when your nervous or anxious about a big event? It's been such an anxious year, I think we could all benefit by sharing our coping mechanisms with each other! I'll start, one thing I've been doing to help me be less nervous is get 8 hours of sleep. Because I am useless with no sleep. So tell me, what's a coping mechanism that you have that helps you? Tbh I also get extremely stressed for exams and my coping mechanism is finding something else to think about and avoid thinking too much on the problem which is like the worst advice ever lmao… and I’d say if you’re genuinely overwhelmed just stop and focus on your breathing for a couple of minutes. Putting things into perspective is also important, I try to ask myself questions like “is this *whatever* really that important in the long run” and “realistically what’s the worst thing that can happen if things don’t go the way I want”, because I tend to get stressed by ridiculous things…

Also very good decision to get those 8 hours of sleep, our lives sometimes don’t allow for that (which is genuinely terrible and ridiculous) but they are really important and no one should be trying to live like a zombie lmao
