really everyone should be thanking loki... not only did he botch the invasion of Midgard to warn them of future alien invaders he also stalled thanos’s plans by like four years singlehandedly as well as provided a decent excuse for Asgard to come fetch the tesseract from shield/hydra’s evil weapon production and speed up the Bifrost rebuilding so it wouldn't take thirty years by which time there would've been nothing of the other realms left for Asgard to stabilise

#no offense to the avengers and odin and thor who never figured out loki's eyes were blue and he's been mind controlled but yeah #they owe loki #if literally any other person had been sent by thanos the invasion likely would've succeeded because fury woulda died in scene 1 #the avengers never would've gotten together and if they did literally any of his children would've straight up killed them #loki though paraded around under the pretence of wanting to rule the place and was extra flashy about it so everyone got informed #he also chose to mind control clint instead of kill him #he left fury alive #tony and thor were the only ones who could fly so if hawkeye had taken down 2 engines instead of 1 as a distraction #well they'd be dead #he threw tony out a window instead of kill him #he stabs thor with the ittiest bittiest knife ever #they would all be dead if loki had put any actual effort into the attack #but he didn't! #so earth owes him big time #plus tony became obsessed with protecting them from other world stuff which led to his cool nanotech armour eventually being made so #whatever remains of Asgard owes him for bringing the ship and bothering to show up to Asgard after thor left him for dead #THOR owes him for so SO many reasons #loki also got 3 infinity stones out of thanos' grasp by not handing over the tesseract immediately (which he could've done easily!!) #when does loki get to cash in for these favours #tony still owes him a drink and thor still owes him a hug
