do you have any c!awesamdream fics recomendations?

Honestly, I don’t have a ton of recs. c!awesamdream fic is mysteriously hard to find, and I also wouldn’t want to recommend you anything super E-rated in case that’s not your jam. Personally I’ve had more success searching the Sam & Dream gen relationship tag than the slash tag. That said, here are my no-brainer recs, most are gen with some exceptions:

inosculation by @theminecraftbox - canon compliant, reflection on how their relationship progresses during the prison arc, how c!sam’s authoritarian tendencies bloom in pandora, and the weird symbiosis he and dream achieve. technically not a slash fic but like it is To Me!!

saltwater on rock by @elmhat - also not technically a slash fic but it is a fun exploration of their relationship post-prison: who are they to each other, now that they aren’t prisoner and warden? what power has dream reclaimed, what power has sam ceded? or is it the other way around? fun stuff.

the trees deny themselves nothing by @lookinghalfacorpse - if you’re asking for recs you’ve probably already read this one (it’s basically THE awesamdream fic at this point) but i think it lends itself to re-readability! and if you haven’t read it: dream loses his leg in pandora, phil n techno conscript sam to make him a new one after the jailbreak, things get interesting. OP also wrote a post-fic oneshot which you can read here.

everlasting evermore by @elmhat - incomplete atm and also not slash but definitely awesamdream vibes. sam is a sad widower king who interrogates dream in his dungeon so it scratches the fantasy itch. this fic does some cool things with the cloning lab lore and i’m really excited to see where it goes!

21 steps in the desert by @airrec - banger. it's short so i won't describe it in detail. banger tho!

scream eureka by @cgogs - basically a post-canon domestic horror fic, sam and dream are married (with a kid on the way) but neither of them is able to move on from pandora. this fic deals with issues of bodily autonomy very well and it’s also refreshing to see trans pregnancy handled with tact, rather than treated like a fetish or a joke. IIRC this fic is an AU of an AU so be warned, it does come with like 30 pages of background lore which isn't necessary to understand the fic but does make it easier to follow.

all these lives by @lookinghalfacorpse - reincarnation drabble, plays with sam’s obsession in fun ways. not really sure how else to describe this one but i reread it sometimes! it’s good!

you don't have to be like that by @dr3amofagame - incomplete, i haven't reread this one in a while but i remember enjoying it at lot! dream gives sam the book in a moment of desperation and then has to navigate the fallout.

accident by @airrec - another fave. concise, fucked up, and very well written.

i’ve also been working on a multichap awesamdream fic (am i allowed to rec my own fics??? is that too cringe??) that’s gonna be wrapping up soon. pandora's vault gains sentience, that's the whole plot. like most of the other works on this list, it’s not technically ship fic but it is very much about sam and dream’s...situation. full warning tho, it’s long and rambly and weird, sorry for that!

i also wanna add that pretty much any fic that explores the scrapped lore is gonna have to deal with awesamdreamisms by necessity, owing to the nature of, well, the lore. there's a decent amount of fics about it, here's one that I found recently and enjoyed a lot.

Have fun, mind the tags. And if you find more then by all means, feel free to add to this post! I know there's a lot of tumblr-exclusive content floating around out there that can be harder to find than stuff on AO3.

Also, it's worth mentioning that some of the most compelling c!awesamdream content I've read were brief interludes in fics about much broader subjects in the fandom; I've read a lot of great c!awesamdream moments in c!rivals fics, prison trio fics, c!dnf fics, etc. So my advice is to cast your net wide, if that makes sense? biggest thoughts on skyward sword link?

aight. get ready. because I have many thoughts about him.

So, first off, yes, he is a silly sleepy doofus of a sky boy who is extremely soft and adorable and deserves everything. But, while that take is 100% correct and should not be overlooked, he is also a feral rabid gremlin who can and will tear your face off with his bare hands if the need arises (such as if you threaten Zelda).

(I mean. there's your proof right there...)

Now, a lot of people think that Link from Breath of the Wild is the strongest/toughest/etc.

Politely, I disagree.

So then who is the strongest? None other than Sky Link.

Let's start with the basics. He might not have been raised on a farm or in service as a knight for the royal family, but at the same time, he's attended an academy specifically for training knights his entire life. At the start of the game he can lift and throw massive barrels, is stated and shown to be an excellent climber, is a natural at Loftwing flying and at catching Zelda when she throws herself off of Skyloft, and is already excellent with a blade. Later on he can lift and throw small boulders, and push large wooden crates and metal carts.

But like I said, that's just the basics.

Sky Link also fights/defeats the Imprisoned and Ghirahim three times. Both grow stronger with each battle, but he defeats them nonetheless. Ghirahim at first sees him as just a silly little child who can't possibly defeat him; he quickly learns Link is anything but that and in all three of his fights becomes so humiliated that he rages at Link and on two occasions leaves instead of allowing himself to be defeated further. "You think I can't defeat you? You think I can't win? What are you, boy?" he asks in the final fight. He's afraid of Link, because Link is too powerful for him. He's the silly soft sky child, but three times now he has claimed victory over the Demon King's right hand man.

Then there's the Silent Realms, of which Link goes through four. Each one becomes increasingly more difficult and dangerous, and yet he completes all of them. Not only that, but he finds each Sacred Flame required to strengthen Fi and ends up forging the true Master Sword. He also earns and wields the full Triforce, which only a tiny handful of other Links have done. He also survives getting crushed by boulders on numerous occasions and is imprisoned (probably with a concussion) but escapes; battles a massive army of Moblins, Stalfos, and Bokoblins; and with each Silent Realm, his spirit grows, signifying he is not only strong physically, but mentally.

Anything I'm forgetting, besides the fact that Hylia specifically chose him to be her hero and defeat-

Oh yeah.

Demise.

Yup, in case anyone forgot, Sky Link kills Demise, the literal embodiment of evil itself, the original villain from whom Ganondorf comes. Demise is the most powerful enemy in LoZ who not only destroyed Hylia, but nearly all of the Surface as well; according to him, humans cower and quake upon seeing him; none but Link have ever dared to even consider standing up to him. Fighting Link, to Demise, is a casual, lighthearted ordeal where he believes he can take it easy before going off and destroying the world.

But yeah, that doesn't quite happen.

In the end, Link defeats Demise utterly on a battlefield of water and lightning, charging his own blade with it and striking the killing blow. Demise perishes and is absorbed into the Master Sword, directly after threatening that his hate, never perishing, will follow Link and Zelda throughout time.

And there you have it. Sky has just defeated the original incarnation of a cycle of endless hatred.

So, I'll admit that I've been really behind on your Sweet & Sour Dipplin fic (I stopped at Chapter 5). But I managed to binge read all the way to the current chapter in 2-3 hours and some eye pain and I gotta say I was floored by all the events that happened since then. It was like getting hit by a massive whirlwind of plot and emotions that I certainly enjoyed! But one of the biggest questions I've got to ask is this:

"Will Juliana ever learn to lock her door when at least 3 people told her to upfront lol?"

Okay so the backstory on the door locking:

A reader pointed it out in a comment once that Juliana's door seemed to be unlocked, and I laughed because it was 100% me unconsciously not accounting for it as someone who's been too trusting with unlocked doors myself LOL. I have the funniest story about how I learned my lesson in a "this is messed up, but since everything turned out okay it's lowkey a dark humor story" kind of way.

The long story short is it involves me inadvertently experiencing home invasion/attempted robbery when living with friends in what was a very safe building around like 3AM a few years ago. We and many others had the habits of keeping our doors unlocked. I inadvertently scared the intruders away the night they snuck in and actually entered my room when I happened to be sitting up in bed (they assumed I was asleep). I was tired, blind, and sassy and I assumed the silhouettes in the dark was one of my suitemates being clingy because they were particularly attached to my hip that day, and I just let out an exasperated "Yeah??" before they bolted. Imagine my horror when I put two and two together and realized that I just casually talked to intruders so nonchalantly. The cop that interviewed me was like "BRO"💀

(Real talk: I & my suitemates got very lucky, and although this is a MUCH longer story, everyone remained safe, nothing of ours stolen, what WAS stolen in other suites was recovered, and the cops caught 'em. If you're ever in a situation like this, stay safe & call 911 once you realize what's happening!! They can track your location even if you're unable to talk.)

So yeah! Lock your doors. Always. :D

I'm obviously not gonna have what happened to me happen to Juliana, though. I may make something much more story appropriate happen with it instead, if anything! But this ask has me thinking of a few possibilities now.

Sure!

Usually I'll look for a "TV noise" or "video feed" overlay/effect on Google first, then layer it on the art, increase the transparency, and set the layer effect to "add" (on PicSay there's only three options, but on Procreate I like to mess around with the settings sometimes cause they have like twenty)

I use PicSay for adding text, and just put on an all-caps "REC", and either draw a red dot or find a sticker. Some drawing apps have better fonts that make it look more realistic, so depends on what you're going for

Then you can add date, frame rate, a counter, a file name, or anything else you want to the screen to add to the image

Below are some overlays I made for my most recent drawing. Anyone who sees this, feel free to download them and throw one on your art and see how it looks :)

could you explain the school system poll? where i live the cutoff is march. so like people born march-december of one year go to class with kids born in january and february of the following year. there are some exceptions ofc but generally this is the pattern. i'm curious how it works where you are?

Oh!!! yeah i used to live in a place which had the system like that typically i think?? therefore i added the last option! but my school was quirky and did it the usamerican way.

the us way being around october (depending on the district) was where the cut off date was at. So kids born later in the year were put in a grade behind the people who were born earlier that year

agshsg ur good!! believe it or not my url is actually an arcana reference!! in like 2018 the games blog answered an ask and referred to vlastomil as "25 worms in a trenchcoat". im not a huge vlastomil fan but thought the phrase was funky and saved it as a url just in case, then once i got tired of the url i had (it was p feminine and didnt fit me anymore) i changed it to that. its been quite a while since ive played and i havent finished all the routes but my fave is probably nadia, with julian as a close second. i played her route first so she became my fave p quickly.

In all seriousness, he was hoping to make the other feel better.
