Update on the French protests: we've had a well-known expert in contemporary political history call the situation we're in "the worst democracy crisis France has known since [the end of the 4th Republic]" and meanwhile the government is trying its hardest to maintain a façade of normal functioning by a) hiding from protesters, b) hiding protesters from view, and c) banning saucepans and other means of drawing attention to the protests that are being swept under the rug.
I mean casserolades are an old tradition in this country but they wouldn't have been needed if Macron &co hadn't started almost systematically banning protests in entire districts of the towns they visit and setting up police roadblocks to prevent peaceful protesters from going anywhere near them. (Too bad because these are the kinds of images the media get (these 2 are from Le Monde) when protesters get to talk to Macron <3) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Protesters corralled away where they can be easily ignored started banging pots and pans so the protest could at least be heard in the background of TV footage, and then pans started being confiscated.
French courts have repeatedly struck down the bans as illegal but police prefects keep churning new bans out every time Macron goes somewhere anyway, trying to publish them at the last minute so there's no time for a judicial review. (I saw a sign at a protest last week that went "Stop with all the bans we no longer have time to disobey all of them")
After boldly banning saucepans by calling them "portable sonorous devices" last week, today a police prefecture banned "festive gatherings of a musical nature" in a town Macron will be visiting tomorrow. They're (ab)using counter-terrorist legislation for all this, so these days we get to read unheard-of court rulings that go like "We are suspending this prefectural decree as we do not consider festive gatherings of a musical nature to pose a significant terrorist threat to the President."
If Macron had people showing up in support I don't think we would see so many pissy protest bans because then the media could show backers vs. opponents and things would look normal (and not like 70% of the country is very pissed off with Macron). But there's not much for them to show if they don't show the angry people banging pans and it clearly rankles Macron—we learnt yesterday that he sent a letter to 200,000 political supporters of his essentially ordering them to start making appearances all over the country, to show they are "proud of what you are and of what our country has become [since I got elected]." That seems a bit desperate.
For months Macron &co have been predicting that people would get tired of taking to the streets in large numbers, and now that people are going like—right, let's try a new strategy, small local protests greeting gov members everywhere they go!—we're hearing a clear "no not like that, that's not what we meant :l " reaction from the government.
They've also been trying the strategy of announcing stuff at the last minute, like on Monday the Minister of Education announced at noon that he would visit a higher learning institution in Lyon 2 hours later, and a hundred of protesters still showed up and tried to force their way into the building. They were held off by cops using tear gas and trying to block entrances (there's a pic that made me smile, showing cops trying to barricade university gates with garbage bins—how the tables have turned...!) and the Minister ended up not showing up and moving on to the next step of his schedule (protesters tried to follow him there but police vans were blocking the street.)
The first half of the video is at the uni in Lyon; the second half is in Paris later that day. When he returned to Paris the Minister was greeted by protesters with saucepans at the train station, it's like a national relay race of protesting at times. He had to go back through the train to leave via the other end of the platform under police escort so as not to meet any protesters (god forbid).
Macron commented that this was "uncivic" behaviour and I agree, civic behaviour on the part of gov members would be to at least face the people they choose to fuck over, instead of hiding behind cops and fleeing. Obviously Macron was condemning the 'uncivic' protesters though, and the Minister said he felt "physically threatened" by the "violence of [the protesters'] speech" which is a shit thing to say considering on the same day that he was mildly inconvenienced by having to take a different exit and felt physically endangered by words, yet another protester was mutilated after being shot at by police with a rubber bullet. Not a peep about this incident (or previous ones) from the government. The Minister of Education never even condemned that time high schoolers trying to protest got tear gassed and threatened with riot guns by cops in front of their school earlier this month.
But while people continue protesting despite the actual violence from cops, our ministers are looking pretty scared of citizens banging pots and pans. Here's a list of official visits that got cancelled "for safety reasons" (saucepan terrorism) in the past week:
1. Minister P. NDiaye cancelled a visit in Lyon 2. Minister F. Braun cancelled a visit to Evrard Hospital 3. Minister Delegate O. Klein cancelled a visit in Bobigny 4. Minister Delegate O. Grégoire cancelled a visit in La Baule 5. Minister S. Guerini cancelled a visit in Castelnau 6. Secretary of State B. Couillard cancelled a visit in Rochefort 7. Minister S. Retailleau cancelled a visit to the Paris Saclay University (electricity trade unionists cut the power in the building she was supposed to inaugurate, so) 8. Minister C. Grandjean cancelled a visit in Toulouse (this article says it was probably because the visit was quite near a big highway protest where protesters among other things were building a concrete wall on a national road)
Tumblr media
In the same bullshitting vein as "portable sonorous devices", gov spokespeople have been insisting that visits aren't being cancelled, ministers are just "adjusting the course of their trips" which is funny to me. I guess we never beheaded any royalty we just adjusted the course of their necks. I also read a newspaper article that made me laugh, that went like "Minister cancels visit; trade unions disappointed" and I thought it was because the cancelled visit was a meeting with the unions which they wouldn't get to have, but the article said it was actually because they had a good protest planned and wouldn't get to hold it...
Watching protesters mess with the government in small ways on a daily basis has been good for morale—on Twitter the hashtags #IntervillesMacron and #IntervillesduZbeul popped up (zbeul = chaos, mess, and Intervilles was a TV game show that aired for over 50 years, where French cities competed against one another in goofy challenges). I only mentioned cancellations above, but fun things also happen on non-cancelled government visits, like a Minister having to leave a building via the emergency exit because of protesters blocking the building entrance (which some people argued is worth more points than a cancellation as it's more entertaining):
Tumblr media
Various websites were created to keep track of all these smaller protests and to officialise the point system that ranks cities on their efforts to fuck with the government:
Tumblr media
(the first symbol means a protest, the second means a casserolade, the last one means protesters managed to get inside a building where a visit was taking place)
Tumblr media
(Translation: Ruckus (saucepans, heckling...) 1pt Protest: 1pt Creative action (chasing minister in the woods, etc): 2pts Measures of energy conservation (= power cuts by unions) 3pts Action that leads to a political figure fleeing: 4pts Cancellation of a visit: 5pts — then there's a weighting system where the score is multiplied by 3 if it's a Minister, by 5 if it's the Prime Minister, by 6 if it's Macron.) (I also saw an interesting debate on Twitter this week—since our leaders often embarrass themselves, how should the government's own goals fit into the point system?)
Right now the Hérault department is winning because on top of protests, power cuts and casserolades, protesters greeted Macron with a giant "MACRON FUCK OFF" sign hung from a cliff (!) and took over a highway display so it'd say "Welcome to [region] Butthole Ist"
Tumblr media
These past few days I've been discovering unknown French cities (and Ministers) thanks to them showing up in the hashtag after a good protest. I discovered a mediaeval castle I'd never heard of when unions hung banners featuring our most famous revolutionary dates from the castle's battlements. (Two days later, another protest with eloquent banners in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
People are very creative—last week we heard that protesters got prosecuted for giving Macron the finger and insulting him during one of his official visits (< we are a healthy democracy), so protesters in another region tried a more sarcastic approach, and greeted a deputy from Macron's party at a strawberry fair this week with clapping and confetti and "Thank you for making us work 2 more years, thank you for police repression, thank you!" The deputy beat a hasty retreat. Then said he would file a complaint against the harassment and intimidation he had been subjected to. (The tear gas and riot guns and arrests and protest bans are not intimidation of protesters on the other hand. Or the fact that another deputy from his party recently said on TV that they were "ready for war"... They're ready to wage war, but run and hide when people clang saucepans and throw confetti.)
Anyway. I'm enjoying the fact that they can't even attend a small strawberry fair without getting heckled right now. In one of my first posts about the political crisis in March I wrote something like "How will Macron and his gov have any legitimacy to speak about any issues after this?" and it cheers me up to see a lot of people across the country agree that they have no legitimacy to talk about anything, not even the strawberry harvest.
The next nationwide protest is of course for May 1st, but in the meantime it's been really fun following the smaller protest actions all over the place. Members of government & Macron's party keep making whiny statements along the lines of this is terrorist behaviour, we can't go anywhere, why are people not getting tired of fucking with us and the answer is, because it's really entertaining!
This was the last sentence of a recent Le Monde article about Macron's situation and it has such a sinister, end-of-reign tone:
Tumblr media
"I'm moving forward," Macron concluded, on April 20th in the Herault department, while behind his back echoed the sound of saucepans.

music blared from your earbuds as you went to the moving truck to redeem more of your items from it. you almost didn't notice the attractive male that walked up behind you.
the boy tapped you shoulder, startling you. you turned around and was meant with a sheepish smile as you pulled an ear bud from your ear. "hello?" you smiled in confusion.
"sorry for scaring you," he laughed. you couldn't help the immediate swarm of butterflies in your stomach.
"it's okay," you smile, "can i help you?"
"i was just wondering if i could help you with your things." he said, his hand reaching up to scratch the back of his head.
"oh," you squeak, a nervous smile grazing your lips. "um, yeah, sure," you said as you turned back to the truck. the boy followed.
"i'm chris, by the way," he smiled, looking down at the ground as he walked. "oh, i'm y/n," you say, earning a hum in return. "that's a pretty name," he spoke up, grabbing the box you were about to grab.
"thanks," you blushed, turning away quickly.
the rest of the process went smoothly, small talk was made as well as a couple of jokes here and there. once you were done, chris gives you his number, swearing the two of you have to become friends.
"text me some time," he smiled, walking away and leaving you a flustered mess.
Tumblr media
only a month had passed but yours and chris' friendship seemed to be blossoming quickly. currently, you were heading downstairs. chris had stated he needed to talk to you and that it was urgent.
so here you were, rushing over to his house in nothing but some pajama shorts and an oversized hoodie. you rang the doorbell and was greeted by one of his brothers, "where's chris?" you ask.
"his room," the boy states, "thanks nick," you smile, going down to chris' room. "chris?" you question, knocking on the door. "took you long enough," he sighed, swinging the door open.
you were pulled into the room by your sweater, the door shutting behind you. "what's so urgent?" you ask, crossing your arms. "oh," chris nervously laughs, scratching the nape of his neck.
"chris," you say, "i was bored," he stated sheepishly, a pink hue spreading across his face. you stared at him for a moment your eyes narrowing. "i... was just getting ready to go to bed," you said slowly, a blush creeping up on your face.
"and now you can sleep here," he shrugged, not realizing his words until your cheeks grew pinker. the tips of your ears turned pink as you cleared your throat, hoping to clear some of the not so innocent thoughts that clouded your mind at the current time.
"um," you squeaked, clearing your throat. "uh," you tried again. chris stared at you, waiting for you to say something. "sorry, what?" you said, blinking. you were ashamed that the only thing you could see when you looked at him was his hands around your throat.
"do you wanna play a game?" chris asks, changing the topic. you gulp, nodding. "cool," he grins, walking over to his play station turning it on. he sat on the edge of his bed, patting the seat next to him.
"what are we playing?" you ask, sitting down next to him. "fifa, maybe? or just some mortal combat," he suggests. "mortal combat, maybe?" it was game you were familiar with, so therefore you hoped it would distract you.
you had no idea how wrong you were. "i'm gonna kick you ass," you giggle as he clicks the game, "yeah, okay, ma," he stated, sending a shiver down your spine. "i'm a fucking master at this game," he laughed, not noticing your change of posture.
"prove it," you challenged, your voice low. he smirked, looking at you. he noticed the shift in your behavior and it only boosted his ego. "i'm gonna beat your ass at this game, princess," he smirked.
you shivered.
"are you cold?" he asked, a cocky smirk on his face as he tilted his head. you were absolutely fucked. "n-no," you stutter, clearing your throat.
he clicked a few more buttons, handing you a controller. "ready, princess?" he asked. your breathing quickened. you nodded, gripping the controller in your hands.
Tumblr media
you couldn't even remember when you had died, let alone how many times you had died. all you knew was chris had a hand wrapped around your throat at the very moment, pressing your body into his mattress as he hovered over you.
"you think i wouldn't notice, huh?" he cooed, his thumb caressing your throat. "what were you thinking 'bout in that pretty head of yours hmm?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.
"n-nothing," you mumbled, his hand squeezing the sides of your neck. "nothing? then why were you so distracted, ma?" he asked, his eyes scanning your body.
"was thinking about-" you cut yourself off. you couldn't admit that to him, could you?
"about what, ma?" he pushed, his knee sliding between your thighs. a whimper left your lips as you bucked your hips against his leg, desperate for any sort of relief. he caught on, pushing his knee up into you clothed cunt, the thin fabric you have covering it not doing much for you.
"chris," you moan, your hands reaching to grip the hem of his hoodie.
"c'mon, ma, use those pretty words," he smiled innocently, grinding his knee into your cunt. "y-your hands," you breathed, tears welling up in your eyes from the heat building in your stomach. "that's what's got you so riled up?" he asks, running his hand down from the base of your neck to your right boob.
he cupped the mound, squeezing. a soft whimper left your lips, "fuck chris," you squeak, in warning. he pulls his knee back, your hips following him as a needy whine leaves your mouth.
"so pathetic, about to cum on my knee," he tsked, his hand trailing up to your chin, his pointer finger and thumb grabbing ahold of your chin and forcing you to look at him. "chris," you whine, a huff leaving your lips.
"don't get all bitchy," he scoffed, squeezing your jaw. "don't wanna see that bratty behavior." he added, a small smile tugging at his lips. you were a mess underneath him and he took pride in that, knowing he was the reason for your current state.
"c'mon ma, use those big girl words and tell me what you want," he said, his grip on your jaw loosening as his hand ran down to the bottom of your hoodie. his fingers dipped in the waistband of your shorts, smirking at how loose they were.
"please touch me," you begged, your fingers tugging at his hoodie. a chuckle left his mouth as he dipped his fingers past the hem of your shorts and into your underwear. a small sigh left his lips when he felt the wet spot that had formed in your panties.
"so fucking wet," he said, pulling his hand out and bringing his hand to his lips, licking the pad of his middle finger. you whined at the lack of contact, your eyes fluttering shut.
"keep 'em open, sweetheart," he smirked, pushing the fabric to the side. you felt the bed dip before a small gasp left your mouth when his mouth latched onto your clit, sucking harshly.
"oh god," you moan, arching your back off the bed. your hand went to grip the sheets, your knuckles turning white as he ate you out like a starving man.
"fuck," he groaned, the vibrations making your head spin. he slipped his index finger into your cunt, pumping the digit slowly. he curled his finger, a moan falling from his lips as he watched your mouth fall open.
"feels so good," you moan, bucking your hips. chris used his free hand to push your hips into the bed, holding you still as he sped up his actions. a second finger was added and chris started to move his fingers quicker. the wet noises of your cunt could be heard, adding onto the dirty sounds of chris eating you out.
"gonna cum," you breathe, the heat in the pit of your stomach growing. a third finger was added, causing you to arch your back. "don't stop," you begged, a high-pitched whine leaving your mouth.
a muffled 'never' could be heard from him. "fuck, so good," you praised, feeling your climax grow closer. chris pulled back, a string of spit and slick connecting his mouth and your cunt. "gonna be a good girl and cum for me?" he asks, his fingers hitting a spongy spot.
"fuck," you squeal, "fuck, mhm," you babbled, clenching around his fingers. your legs shook, "right there," you cry, his tongue lapping at your clit as he fingered you. "such a good little slut," he praised, watching as your orgasm crashed into you.
you squirted on his face, a gasp leaving your lips. chris lapped up the juices, his fingers pumping slower, allowing you to come down from your high. "so beautiful," he cooed, placing a soft kiss on your clit, causing you to twitch.
"wanna suck you off," you whine, a desperate plea leaving your lips. chris nodded, getting up and kneeling beside the bed. you sat up, scooting forward.
you pulled his sweats and briefs down, his hard cock springing out. pre-cum was already leaking out of the tip, the vein on the underside of his cock bulging. "so pretty," you praised, running your finger along the vein, collecting the pre-cum.
he let out a small his, tangling his hand in your hair. "pretty little cockwhore," he cooed, pulling on your hair. a moan left your mouth, "so eager for my cock, aren't ya?" he asks, rubbing the head of his cock along your lips.
"so pretty," he smiled, pushing his dick into your mouth. a whine left your mouth as he slid his cock further into your mouth. a small groan left his lips as he reached the back of your throat, a small gag leaving your mouth.
"you were made for my cock," he groaned, thrusting his hips forward, his cock hitting the back of your throat. a few tears sprung from the corners of your eyes, but nothing other than pleasure could be seen on your face.
"gonna make me cum down that pretty throat, huh?" you hummed, looking up a him through your lashes. "so good with that pretty mouth," he praised, making a makeshift ponytail. your scalp burned as he his grip tightened.
your eyes rolled to the back of your head as you hollowed your cheeks, swirling your tongue around the tip of his cock. a moan left his mouth, the noise sounding absolutely wrecked. "fuck," he breathed, his chest heaving.
you looked absolutely filthy; mascara and eyeliner littered tears running down your cheeks, drool dripping down the sides of your mouth, eyes half lidded, and chris' cock shoved down your throat. he loved it.
he could feel the heat in his stomach grow, his orgasm nearing. a muffled whine left your mouth as he pushed your head down, "such a pretty cum slut," he moaned, the vibrations around his cock making him groan.
he came down your throat, the warm substance filling your mouth. his grip loosened and he pulled out of your mouth. his cum dripped from the sides of your mouth, mixing with the drool.
you swallowed the milky substance, sitting up on your knees.
chris looked down at you, a smile tugging on his lips, "such a good little slut," he praises, using the pads of his thumbs to wipe away the remnants of his cum from the corners of your mouth.
he sat down on the bed pressing his lips to yours, as he pulled you to his lap. he broke the kiss to slide your hoodie up your body, reconnecting his lips to yours.
his hands rested on the skin of your ass that the fabric of your shorts didn't cover, kneading the flesh with his hands. a moan left your mouth when chris moved his lips down to your neck, leaving purple and red marks.
"chris," you breathed, grinding your hips into his. "wanna wreck you," he breathed, his grip tightening. "please," you begged, a desperate plead. he stood, dropping you onto his bed. "ass up," he instructed, smacking your thigh.
you got onto your hands and knees, chris stripping his hoodie and shirt. he got onto his knees behind you, pulling your shorts down. a groan left his mouth as he pulled them down, your juices sticking to the fabric. "such a pretty pussy," he moaned, his thumb tracing over your cunt.
a shaky moan left your lips, a needy whine following, "chris, please," you pleaded. chris chuckled, his hand rubbing your ass. a yelp left your mouth when his hand met the flesh of your ass.
a moan slipped past your lips, the burn from the slap going straight to your cunt. "such a needy slut," he cooed.
"you look so pretty with my handprint on that pretty ass of yours," he praised, grabbing the globes of your ass and massaging them. a choked moan left your mouth as he lined his tip up with your cunt.
chris grabbed his shaft, tapping the head of his dick on your clit. he watched the way you clenched around nothing, his eyes rolling back. "so wet," he whispered, slowly pushing his cock into your cunt. a moan left his mouth as he sunk into you, bottoming out.
"fuck," you whine, burying your head into his pillow. "fuck," chris mimicked, his hand moving your hair to the side. "such a pretty little cockslut," he smirked, slowly pulling his hips back. you chased his hips, pushing your ass back.
"fuck yourself," he ordered, one of his hands going to the headboard while the other goes to your back. you nodded, starting to rock your hips. soft moans left your mouth, as you bounced your ass back.
you sped up, the coil in the pit of your stomach growing tight. you cried out when you hit your g-spot, the noise making chris snap. he pulled out, flipping you over and putting your legs over his shoulders.
he lined his cock up and thrusted back in. a scream left your mouth, his pace immediately brutal. "so good for me," he praised, his hand wrapping around your throat. his other hand rested on the bed beside you, helping him balance as his pace didn't slow.
"fuck," you choked, tears pricking the corners of your eyes. "so pretty," he breathed, his grip on your neck tightening. the coil in your stomach snapped, the air in your lungs being knocked out as you squirted.
"such a good girl," chris praised, not stopping his thrusts. a loud whine left your lips as you reached down to his wrist, pulling his hand away from your throat. he got the memo, intertwining his fingers with yours as he pinned them above your head. he leaned down to kiss you, your legs pushing further against your body, causing him to hit deeper.
"oh, god," you moaned, breaking the kiss. "right there," you choked, tears rolling down your face. chris smirked, hitting the spot again. "right there, ma?" he teased, earning a weak nod from you.
chris loved the sight below him. your eyes rolled back, lips slightly parted, hair a mess. a few tears running down your cheeks. "such a pretty little slut," he groaned, "mmm," you moaned out pathetically in response, earning a smirk from chris.
"what was that ma?" he asked, slamming into your cunt, making a wet sound. "cumming," you squealed, your body going limp. there wasn't a thought in your brain other than the way chris felt inside of you currently.
"cumming?" he asked, his smirk turning cocky. "such a slut, cumming on my cock, what twice? and i haven't even came once," he tsked. a pathetic whine left your lips. he let go of one of your hands and his free one went down to rub circles on your clit.
"gonna cum on my cock again?" he asked, his voice low. you nodded, not trusting your words. you couldn't even form a coherent sentence if you wanted to. the only thing on your mind was his cock.
"so cute," he cooed, "all dumb for my cock," he smirked, his hips starting to stutter. his words sent you over the edge, your legs shaking as you came again. a loud whine left your mouth. "such a dumb slut hmm," he asked, a groan leaving his lips.
"mhm," you hummed, tears rolling down your face. "so pretty," he praised, his hand moving from your wrist to swipe away some tears. your hands found his back, nails digging in harshly earning a hiss from him.
"oh, god," he groaned, the coil in his stomach growing tighter. "gonna cum in this pretty pussy," he moaned, "fill you up so well." his words earned another pathetic whine from you. "please," you begged, the word leaving your mouth like a prayer.
"yeah?" he asked, his hips beginning to lose rhythm, "want me to cum inside my dumb little slut?" you nodded, a sob leaving your lips. "please," you said again.
"so fuckin' dumb," he groaned, his grip on your thigh tightening. he slammed his lips onto yours, biting your bottom lip as his hips lost their rhythm completely, his cock twitching inside of you as he came. a moan left his mouth as you clenched around him.
he pulled back, his eyes meeting yours, "such a dumb little slut," he chuckled. a smile tugged at his lips as his chest heaved, his body collapsing onto yours. a small gasp left your lips, his cock still buried inside of you.
"such a pretty little cumslut," he cooed, placing a kiss on your cheek. "so dumb," you giggled, making him laugh. "let me clean us up, yeah?" he asked, earning a hum.
he pulled out of you, causing a hiss to leave your mouth. he grabbed a towel from the floor, wiping his dick off before coming back and wiping up your thighs. "so good for me, baby," he smiled, throwing the towel somewhere else in his room.
"can i cuddle you?" you asked, earning a laugh. "i just railed you," he laughed, "you don't have to ask, ma," he chuckled, grabbing a blanket and throwing it over the both of you. he laid next to you, pulling you closer.
"i'm sorry i was mean," he said, you tilted your head, confused, mean, when? "during," he clarified, "oh," you smiled, shaking your head. "i liked it," you laughed.
"good," he stated, pressing a kiss to your forehead, "go to sleep," he added. a yawn escaped your lips, snuggling closer.

Omg bug we need a part two of “mean” Eddie and reader going on their little date 🤭 if you are up for writing it ofc 😌
pt. 2 of this fic
You didn’t show.
Maybe you just got lost. Eddie figures he shouldn’t have expected someone like you to know where The Hideout was. Or maybe you lost track of time. — but he’d told you the doors opened at seven o’clock sharp, and you’d repeated it back to him. He knows you did because you’d said it in that voice you use when you get all shy, as soft and as low as your meek gaze when you peered at him through your lashes.
But you weren’t just late. You weren’t fashionably late, either. You just never showed up.
Eddie wishes he didn’t care as much as he did.
He told himself he didn’t when you weren’t there at seven, but he looked for you in the meager crowd of twenty when eight o’clock rolled around anyway.
He’d wanted to see you in the front row. He dreamt of putting on the best show The Hideout’s ever seen right before dedicating some cheesy love ballad to you.
“This is for a really special someone in the crowd tonight,” he would’ve said into the microphone that smelled like beer. “You know who you are. Don’t let this go to your head, either, alright?”
He even made the band practice Hysteria by Def Leppard so he could play it for you that night — so the lyrics could tell you everything he couldn’t — but you weren’t there to hear them.
They ended up playing Love Bites instead.
He spends another two hours moonlighting as a rockstar.
Still in his ripped jeans and eyeliner, he slings a towel over his shoulder and ties an apron around his waist — a busboy all over again. He always forgets how sleazy The Hideout is until he’s got to clean it up.
He mops sticky floors and wipes down grimy tables and tries to ignore the stinging in his chest every time he remembers that you were supposed to keep him company through it all.
A knock sounds at the front door at eleven o’clock.
It’s Tuesday night — the place is empty now. Eddie’s been around long enough to know when drunks are out looking for a fix.
“We’re closed!” he shouts, more focused on scrapping off the syrupy ringed stain on the table than the relentless inebriate outside.
“C’mon, Eddie, it’s cold!” a familiar voice pleads, muffled through the door. “You’re not mad enough to let me freeze to death out here, are you?”
Eddie nearly breaks his neck with how quickly he turns to look over his shoulder.
You stand behind the foggy glass, mostly blurry but still beautiful. The bouquet of purple and red tulips is nearly as pretty as the smile your pair them with. Your floral skirt swishes around your ankles as the wind blows. Eddie winches when he sees you shiver.
He rushes to the door, scrambling with the keyring clipped to his belt loop. His sweaty hands fumble with the chain. It takes him three tries to get it in the lock.
“Shit. Sorry,” he stammers. “I didn’t think it was you.”
“I figured. It’s okay.”
You walk through the door he holds open for you, the spring night breeze following close behind. Eddie shuts and locks the door again.
You spin on your heel to face him and hold the flowers out between you. “These are for you,” you tell him — soft and low and timid.
Eddie grins.
“These are very metal, sweetheart,” he teases. The plastic wrapping crinkles as he takes them by the stem.
“I felt bad for being so late,” you grimace. “Didn’t want to show up empty-handed.”
“What flower shop is even open this time of night?”
“Zippy’s,” you answer curtly, gaze ducking down to your shoes a moment later.
“You went to a gas station all the way across town to get me flowers?”
You nod.
“No wonder you were late,” he scoffs.
He saunters past you, then spins so he’s walking backward and facing you. His wild hair sways around his face. He clutches the bouquet to his chest. “Here I thought you off seeing some other schmuck.”
You roll your eyes, knowing no other schmuck has ever given you the time of day like Eddie has.
“I was late because of work,” you correct. Before you know it, you’re rambling. “I wasn’t on schedule for closing, but my asshole manager wouldn’t let me clock out. And I couldn’t call you because I don’t have your number, and I couldn’t find The Hideout in the yellow pages because it’s so old and—”
“Hey. It’s okay,” Eddie assures, practically cooing. It’s the softest he’s ever been with you, and he looks at you just the same — chocolate eyes melting as they twinkle at you. You’re left grieving his gaze when he turns to set the flowers on the counter.
“You’re here now. That’s all that matters.”
Through burning cheeks, you tease. “I thought we agreed you weren’t gonna get soft on me.”
“Oh? You thought that meant I cared that you came?” he scoffs, obviously joking.
He squints down at you when you appear at his side — turns and presses his hip into the counter, and props his elbow along the top of it. “I’m just happy I got you outta the house. You’re like a damn hermit, you never do anything fun.”
Your face scrunches in discontent. “I have fun!” you correct.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Eddie retorts, nudging your shoulder as he walks past you again — this time heading toward the kitchen. “Sit down. I’ll make you something to eat.”
You’re grateful when he walks to the back without looking over his shoulder at you, lest he become a witness to the beam on your lips that’s far too bright to hide.
Eddie Munson is totally soft on you.
It’s a good thing, too. Because you’re all but melting for him now.
You sit at the bar with a sweaty beer in your hand. “It’s obviously cheap, but it goes down sweet enough,” Eddie warned when he’d handed it to you. You sip from it, leaning back in your chair with your feet thrown on the one beside you — totally unable to take your eyes off the boy.
You watch through the partition behind the counter as Eddie makes a haphazard effort of basketing leftover chicken tenders and fries. He sets them beneath an orange lamp to warm again.
“A rockstar, busboy, and chef, huh?” you lilt, hiding your smile behind the beer you bring to your lips. “What else can you do?”
“When there’s a pretty girl in front of me?” he retorts as he swipes the crumbs from his palms. He looks at you with a smug grin and shrugs. “Just about anything, I’d guess.”
You roll your eyes. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“Flirt with me. It’s gross. We don’t do that.”
Eddie laughs to himself, honey eyes squinting. “I’ve been flirting with you for about a year and a half now, sweetheart, but… Thanks for finally noticing.”
He carries the ruby red baskets in both hands when he comes out to sit next to you. You slide your legs off the stool for him — an invitation to be close to you without either of you having to ask.
“Am I gonna get food poisoning from this?” you joke, holding the greasy chicken strip between your fingers.
“The cook made them today,” he scoffs, already tossing a fry into his mouth. He talks as he chews. “Besides, we’d be getting sick together. What’s more romantic than that?”
God, you even think he’s cute when he talks with his mouth full. You’re so far gone for him, it’s not even funny.
Eddie smiles when you take a bite. Your eyes flutter shut on their own accord, your empty stomach thanking you.
“Good, huh?”
“Amazing,” you correct.
“Gross bars make the best food, I swear.”
You laugh softly together. Def Leppard croons from the speakers overhead. You wonder if Eddie knew this was your favorite band or if your favorite song is only playing by chance. You’re warmed either way.
“How was, uh… How was the show?” you ask him, as curious as you are desperate to fill the silence.
Eddie wipes his palms on his jeans and nods. “It was okay. Same as usual — the crowd was drunk enough to enjoy anything we did.”
“I’m sure it was great,” you retort at his self-deprecating tone, picking shyly at the fries rather than meeting his gaze. “I’m sorry I missed it.”
He figures he doesn’t need to tell you about his bleeding heart that was close to breaking a couple of hours ago. You put a bandage over it the second you showed up at The Hideout — with flowers, no less. He’s just glad that you came at all. He meant it when he said that none of the rest matters.
“Don’t worry about it,” Eddie shrugs through the food in his cheek. “There’s always next time.”
You grin and knock the leg of his chair with your foot. “Already asking me out on a second date, huh?”
“If that’s what you wanna call it,” he jokes through glowing cheeks. He tilts his head towards his shoulder. “But I’m not paying for your ticket next time, princess.”
Your smile widens. You prop your cheek on your knuckles, unabashedly gazing over at him. “That’s okay. I’ll be in the front row either way.”
“Promise?” Eddie’s lilt edges on teasing and sincerity. He momentarily abandons his own food as he mirrors your positioning, not realizing he’s leaning closer to you until he’s already doing it.
“Promise,” you nod with a smile so bright he thinks it could rival the sun.
He continues to shorten the distance between you — coming closer closer closer. You watch him, amused, and with your bottom lip trapped between your teeth.
You want him to kiss you. No, fuck that, you need him to kiss you. But more than anything, you need him to do it first — a cheeky little something to over his head when you’re kissing him later.
And you don’t mean to laugh, but the thought makes a giggle spill from your lips before you can stop it.
The bubbly sound knocks Eddie from his stupor.
The tip of his nose just barely brushes your own. His glazed-over eyes fly open. He remains still, his breath fanning over your cupid’s bow, as he blinks owlishly at you. The pretty pink mouth he was about to kiss you with falls softly agape.
His head jerks backward a second later, almost in disgust.
“Shit. Sorry,” he curses. His body shifts away from yours completely as he turns his attention to his half-eaten basket of fries. “That was— That wasn’t cool of me.”
Still smiling, you reach a hand out for his leather-clad forearm. You caress him soothingly there in reassurance. “No. It’s okay—”
“No, that was really fucking weird,” he says, forcing out a laugh.
“Right?” you scoff. “Why would Eddie Munson, the chef-busboy-rockstar, wanna kiss a girl like me?”
He exhales sharply through his nose, tilting his wild head to his shoulder to look at you.
He finds you with a gleam in your eye, one that’s not usually there because, most times, he’s too busy making fun of you.  A smile hints at the corners of your mouth, barely there and beautiful. It’s a bit smug — twinkling with the satisfaction of finally having the upper hand.
Eddie figures it might pay off to be soft with you sometimes. He never wants you to stop looking at him like this.
“You know that’s not what I meant,” he confesses quietly.
Your smile widens. “I know.”
“I’m sorry,” he repeats again, eyes flitting away from yours.
“Don’t be,” you promise. Your nose scrunches softly. “…Wanna give it another go?”
His gaze snaps back up to yours. He has to fight the urge to tease you, lest he ruin the moment he’s been thinking about for months. He’ll be damned if he lets the opportunity slip away from him now.
“Sure you’re not gonna laugh at me this time?” he lilts, looking at you from halfway beneath his lashes.
“I’m not gonna laugh at you,” you promise, though a grin’s already threatening to pull at your mouth.
“Promise?”
“Well, I can show you better than I can tell you.”
You let Eddie lean in first. He exhales a heavy breath from his nose that fans against your skin when your lips collide. The rosy plush of them lock with yours like they were made to do it. His palms rise to your jaw, keeping you tucked neatly against him when the moment threatens to pull you away.
Your hands migrate to the lapel of his leather jacket. You tug him further to you — a promise that you’re not going anywhere.
You don’t laugh into his kiss this time.
You smile.

Smoke Eater - Part 18
Tumblr media
Pairing: Firefighter!Dean Winchester x F. Reader
Summary: Dean Winchester is the cocky, but well-respected Lieutenant at Firehouse 25. He leads by example, but he’s also known to break a few hearts. He’s starting to crave something he’s never had, though. Something stable. Something real.
That’s when he meets you, on a truly terrible day, trapped in a rickety old elevator.

Part 18: “V for Vendetta”
After that first rocky month, Dean started to improve physically, and so did you emotionally, as he tried his best to let you help him when he needed it.
In turn, you did your best to gauge his moods; when he truly did need help, and when it was best for you to just be his girlfriend, not his caretaker.
January rolled onwards, and the resulting winter cold snap brought a kind of calm before a storm. Nick Savage still hadn’t been found, but that didn’t mean your worries were over.
Dean knew that this would hang over all of your heads until both Nick and his father were caught and exposed.
Today Dean walked with Sam on his day off, doing a few laps around the neighborhood as part of Dean’s rehab. They knew a police car was stationed nearby, watching them for their safety. It was a bit unnerving, but necessary.
They were walking back into the building when Sam stopped to check the mail. The box for their unit was along the wall in the corridor with several other locked boxes. Sam unlocked theirs and pulled out a rolled-up newspaper, some coupons, and a stray folded note addressed to Dean. Sam’s brows furrowed.
“What’s that, a love note?” Dean asked dryly. He took it from Sam and unfolded the scrap of paper.
20579. Your badge will join your dad’s on the wall.
Both the Fire Department headquarters and the 84th Precinct had a wall to commemorate firefighters and officers who had given their lives in the line of duty. Each of their badges had their own display plaque hung on the respective walls.
In short, the note was a threat.
Sam’s worried frown deepened as he watched Dean’s good mood evaporate. He crumpled up the note and pocket it, before he met his younger brother’s eyes.
“Keep this between us,” he warned. As in, don’t tell you.
Sam shook his head. “Dad needs to know, at least. And you two need to be careful.”
“That goes for you and Eileen too,” Dean replied. He reached for Sam’s shoulder and squeezed. “Don’t matter that you’re an ADA. Azazel goes after cops and their families. He’s gonna be gunning for an opportunity to get to one of us.”
Sam’s lips pressed together, but he acknowledged that with a nod.
They went back upstairs together, where you were dressed casually and gathering up your purse.
“Heading out somewhere?” Dean asked. Sam shot him a glance, which Dean silently answered with a short nod. He looked back at you when you offered him a smile.
“Yep, we need a few things. Milk, eggs, more Twizzlers, apparently,” you quipped, lightly smacking his stomach. Dean quirked a smile.
“Give me a sec. I’ll go with you,” he said.
You made an uncertain sound. “Didn’t you just get back from a walk? You sure you don’t just want to shower up and relax?”
“I’m good,” said Dean. He knew you didn’t like the idea of him overexerting himself, but he didn’t feel comfortable letting you go out alone. He could tell by the look Sam once again threw his way from the kitchen that he didn’t think it was a good idea either.
Dean slid a hand up your arm. “How about this. I’ll stay in the car. I just want some more fresh air.”
You tilted your head at him, but you conceded. He followed you to the door and held it open for you.
“Can I drive?” Dean hedged.
You chuckled. “Don’t push it, Lieutenant.”
Tumblr media
On the way back from the grocery store, you discreetly eyed Dean’s profile. His knee was bouncing as he stared out the window.
Sometimes he checked the rearview mirror of your Camaro. Sometimes he fiddled with the radio or checked his phone.
It was all nervous behavior you took a catalogue of. By the time you pulled back into the parking lot of Dean’s apartment building, he finally seemed to relax a fraction. You parked the car and turned to him.
“Okay, what’s the matter?” you asked.
Dean gave you a curious look, but there was an unmistakable tension in his demeanor.
“What do you mean?”
You tried your question a different way. “What’s got you all on edge?”
He didn’t seem to want to answer at first.
“Dean,” you prodded. “Does it have something to do with why you insisted on coming with me, even though I can see that you’re tired?”
His face tightened, but he reached over for your hand. Your fingers curled around his. Now you were getting worried.
“We’ve got the police watching us here, but anything could happen out there,” Dean said. “Until this blows over, I don’t think you should go out by yourself.”
Until this blows over. You wanted to ask when that would be, but you knew he wouldn’t be able to give you an answer.
“Zachariah called me this morning,” you admitted. “He’s standing in for Nick as CEO. He said I have a job waiting for me when I get off medical leave next week. Everyone’s been working from home since the fire, but we’d be going to a new building the company owns downtown.”
Dean tightened up, just like you knew he would. His eyes closed as his head tilted back against the headrest. He let out a long breath through his nose. You stayed quiet, both waiting for what he might say and preparing for him to get upset.
He surprised you by calmly looking over at you again.
“It’s not a good idea. If Nick’s still alive, it means his dad probably knows you know who he is,” he said. “And not for nothin’. Even with Nick out of there, that place’s probably been built on blood money.”
Both were fair points.
“I know. I’m going to find something else, as soon as you’re better,” you said. Dean shook his head and held your hand tighter.
“Don’t let me be an excuse,” he said. His gaze was firm and direct meeting yours. “I need you to start taking care of yourself too, all right? Please.”
Faced with his earnestness, you couldn’t help but soften. After everything he’d done to save you, to protect you, was it fair of you to keep making him worry?
In the past, you’d felt justified. You couldn’t quit. You needed the money. You could handle it, whatever came next. You would deal with it because you had to.
But maybe this time, you didn’t have to. It wasn’t worth all this.
With that resolve, you let out a breath.
“I’m going to call Zachariah,” you said, “and tell him that I’m working from home, or I quit.”
Dean stared back at you with a measure of surprise.
“I’m not going back,” you said, squeezing his hand. “If he has a problem with that, I’ll use whatever I have left in my savings. Hopefully that’ll be enough until I find a new job.”
After a moment, Dean expelled a breath of relief. He beckoned you over, and carefully as you could over the upholstery, you leaned over and caressed his cheek before you went in for a kiss. He welcomed you, with his hands slipping up your sides and around your back, pressing you into him with a heady warmth.
He paused against your lips after a while. His forehead rested against yours.
“You don’t need to drain your savings. I can help you,” Dean started to say, but you pulled back and held your fingers to his lips.
“You’ve helped me enough. You’re already letting me live with you rent free,” you pointed out. “Let me figure out the rest.”
After a moment, Dean wordlessly agreed. He wanted to argue that you wouldn’t have had to move in with him if not for Azazel putting you in his sights, but at the same time, Dean understood that you’d been providing for yourself for a long time. He respected you for it.
So he just guided you back to him for another slow kiss.

John Winchester owned a condo approximately 20 minutes from his sons’ apartment. It was the home they’d grown up in after the house fire, over thirty years ago.
John had learned a lot since then. In fact, some might say that he’d become a paranoid bastard.
Aside from a professional alarm system, he’d installed hidden cameras inside and out of his home, and at every window. It meant that even when he was asleep, his eyes were never truly closed.
When the intruder took his first steps into John’s bedroom, the man himself was waiting with a gun cocked and loaded. The safety clicking back made a small sound, but in the silence, it might as well have been a gunshot.
The masked man swiftly turned and ducked, throwing a punch. The scuffle that followed was quick and covered by darkness.
The cameras on “Night Mode” picked up every moment.
Tumblr media
And that was how John later showed video evidence of Alastair Rolston breaking into his condo, and subsequently getting his ass handed to him.
Both men had their fair share of bruises, but at the end of the day, Alastair was the one cuffed to a chair in the bowels of the 84th Precinct. He sat beside his court-appointed lawyer.
Meanwhile, Cas watched the scene from behind the one-way glass window of the interrogation room. Rufus Turner, their Lieutenant, was beside him, along with ADA Sam Winchester. He watched the man his father questioned very carefully.
“Well, I think you know what this means, Mr. Rolston,” John drawled.
Alastair’s stance in the chair was relaxed, almost unfazed. He gave the detective a wry smile.
“What’s that, John?” he asked.
“I’ve got you dead to rights on attempted murder of a cop,” said John. “It ain’t a good look, my friend.”
“Don’t answer that,” said the lawyer. Alastair glanced at the man, unimpressed, to say the least.
“No shit,” he replied.
“I’d say you’ve got two options,” John pressed forward. He leaned on the table between him and Alastair.
“Did Azazel…excuse me, Daniel Savage, put you up to this? You can answer that question, or I could just skip to the part where you sit in a cell for 20 to life.”
Alastair’s face gave away nothing but calculation and amusement. John nodded, with a grim smile.
“I’ll bet you set the fire at Savage & Co. Trying to get Nick to look like a victim in all this—the consequence of doing business with the likes of Azazel,” he said. “Better yet, I think you’re his favorite hitman. Clean, precise, no tracks left behind, no traces of evidence. Perfect kills. I’ll bet you consider yourself a goddamn artist.”
Alastair lifted his gaze, and John saw the familiar depths of a killer.
“I don’t like setting fires,” said Alastair.
John was nonplussed. “I’m sure you don’t.”
The other man rolled his shoulders.
“It’s all very…messy, you see. Unpredictable.” A smile graced his lips. “But I know someone who does.”
“He’ll give you his employer,” the lawyer said. “The person who ordered the hit.”
“Which hit?” John arched a brow. “I can’t be the only special one. What about Paul Richardson, Jerry Stillwell, Amanda Waller?”
The lawyer shared a look with his client. Alastair rolled his eyes and leaned over to whisper in his ear. After a moment, the lawyer nodded and met John’s gaze.
“He’ll tell you what you want to know, but only for a blanket deal of immunity.”
John could’ve guessed. Alastair smiled once more and leaned back in his seat.
The detective held up a finger and exited the interrogation room. He met Sam’s gaze, and the latter already knew what his father was thinking.
"Give me a minute," Sam said. He went into the room and tried to negotiate with Alastair and his lawyer, but the man wouldn't accept a plea of 20 to 25 years, even to serve all the murders they could charge him with concurrently. Nor would he accept 15 to 20, or even Sam's best deal: 10 to 12.
Sam exited the room and hid his discouragement. He met his father's waiting gaze.
“We can’t give him immunity,” Sam said. “He’s likely the one who committed Azazel’s hits. Not just for the past six months, but for God knows how long, and how many bodies.”
“At this point, it’s the only way we’re getting a chance at Daniel Savage,” John said. “Not just finding him, but pinning him as the mastermind behind the whole operation. Drug trafficking, arson, murders…the whole thing, Sam.”
Sam didn’t like it. No one did, for that matter, but even Rufus heaved a sigh.
“You can’t move forward without a trigger finger willing to testify,” he said.
“Yeah, because hitmen make notoriously credible witnesses,” Sam retorted.
“Do think he set the fires as well?” Cas asked John. “He seemed to imply that he committed the murders, but not the arson.”
John hummed in contemplation.
“We’ll find out. But first, I want a confirmed name from the horse’s mouth,” he said, shifting his attention to Sam. “Can you get me that, son?”
Sam’s lips pursed.
Within an hour, the paperwork was drawn and the plea deal was arranged. Father and son sat side by side on one side of the interrogation room, while Alastair and his lawyer sat on the other. Alastair finished signing the final document as the cuffs on his wrists jangled.
“All right,” said John. “Tell me what I want to know.”
Alastair smiled and spread his hands as wide as he was able.
“I’m an open book, Johnny. Ask away.”
John leaned forward.
“Let’s start with this,” he said. “Who ordered you to kill me?”
Tumblr media
Nick Savage was unearthed from a luxury apartment in the south of France. He was extradited back the United States and hauled into a courtroom in Lawrence, Kansas for arraignment.
Sam Winchester was the prosecutor on the case. As luck would have it, one of his favorite judges was also assigned for this docket.
“What do we have here?” asked Judge Devereaux. He was a portly man, short and graying, with square black glasses that framed his perpetually surly face. The man now adjusted his glasses so he could read the slip of paper the clerk had just handed to him after reading off the docket.
The charges included four counts of murder in the first degree: the murders-for-hire, enacted by Alastair Rolston.
Followed by attempted murder in the first degree, ten counts of murder in the second degree (those who had lost their lives in the most recent building fire), conspiracy to commit murder, arson, and if that weren’t enough, a charge each of attempted sexual assault and sexual harassment.
When the last two charges were read out loud in the courtroom, Nick looked visibly angry.
Sam glanced over at the defendant with thinly veiled satisfaction. Some days, it was difficult for him to come to work.
Today was not that day.
“All right, that is a laundry list of potential misdeeds,” Judge Deveraux remarked. He looked up at Nick Savage. “How does the defendant plead?”
At the prodding of his lawyer, Amelia Richardson, Nick spoke up.
“Not guilty,” he said. Though he rolled his eyes, as if this was a waste of his time.
“What’s the deal here, Mr. Winchester?” Judge Devereaux asked.
“The primary charge is a murder-for-hire, your Honor,” Sam replied. “Mr. Savage hired a hitman to murder at least five people, and succeeded with four. He also masterminded several arsons. This includes a fire at his own company building, which claimed the lives of ten people and injured several others. This is all part of a larger connection to organized crime, which the People intend to prove in our case. Due to the nature of the charges, and the defendant clearly being a flight risk, we seek his remand to custody without bail.”
The judge raised his brows. He turned to the defendant’s lawyer.
“What about it, Miss Richardson?”
Amelia shot Sam a glance, but she replied to the judge.
“What we have here is a conflict of interest, your Honor,” she said. “Detective John Winchester has a vendetta against my client. Therefore, Mr. Winchester should recuse himself. It’s a family affair, Judge, and they have no evidence for any of these charges, except for the testimony of a confessed murderer.”
“It’s called prosecutorial discretion,” Sam cut in. “Our evidence goes beyond Mr. Rolston’s testimony and will more than support our case. I’ve also tried my father’s cases before, your Honor. This defendant is no different.”
The judge peered closer at the docket with incredulous eyes.
“Except for the fact that one of the attempted murders was on your father. John Winchester?” Judge Devereaux actually chuckled. “Oh, Mr. Savage. Many have tried and failed on that regard.”
“Judge,” Amelia tried, but Devereaux waved her off. Sam took in that small victory without giving anything away outwardly. The fact that John was on the docket as a “victim” was easily Sam’s biggest challenge in this arraignment, but he just couldn’t hand this off to another prosecutor.
“And what’re these last charges about?” the judge asked.
“Mr. Savage attempted to sexually assault one of his employees at a company Christmas party in the defendant’s home, your Honor,” Sam replied. His gaze once again cut over to Nick, who glared back at him with a sneer.
“That’s a goddamn lie!” Nick shouted.
Amelia grabbed his arm and tried to shut him up, but Nick jerked out of her grasp.
“Put a gag on your client or I will, Miss Richardson,” Devereaux warned with a deepening frown.
“Hey,” Amelia hissed a whisper, grabbing the sleeve of Nick’s suit jacket this time. “Get it together and shut your mouth. Remember where you are.”
He ignored her to try and speak to the judge himself.
“That bitch tased me. Did she tell you that?” Nick levied Sam a look, before he turned back to Devereaux. “Yeah, she assaulted me, Judge. So that charge is fucking bogus.”
“I’ve heard quite enough!” Devereaux snapped. He raised his gavel and slammed it down loud enough for Nick to flinch. “The defendant is remanded to custody, without bail.”
Tumblr media
It was more satisfying than John would admit.
While the development wasn’t exactly what he had expected, having Daniel Savage’s son dragged out of his new prison home to sit in another musty holding cell was the highlight of the new year.
This was the poor excuse for a man who’d given him such a headache these past few months. This was the little shit that nearly got his son killed, and who’d been terrorizing you for months, if not years.
But he would be a means to an end.
“I’ll tell ya what, Nick. You don’t look like a man that could organize a handful of murders and arsons, but here we are,” John said.
He scratched the back of his head and sat on the corner of the desk. Sam was seated across from Nick, and Cas was hanging back within the cell, watching the exchange (and watching Nick’s reactions for any tells).
On the other side sat Nick himself, dressed down in his gray prison garb. It was a far cry from the $5,000 suit he wore in the arraignment. Next to him was his lawyer, Amelia Richardson.
“Is there a question in there somewhere?” she asked. She shot Sam a glance.
They had dated in law school for a few months. It had ended abruptly when her husband returned from Afghanistan. It had been a shock to both of them, since the man had been presumed dead.
Clearly, Sam had moved on since then. He was happier with Eileen than he ever was, but he could tell that Amelia had never quite recovered from the “what could’ve been” of their relationship.
Still, Sam had set all that aside the moment he stepped into this room. He watched his father work.
“Why did you set fire to your own building?” John asked.
He’d expected Nick to be more explosive with his denials, but the man was quietly simmering, like he just wanted the questioning to be over. It reminded John of when his sons were teenagers. Maybe he hadn’t been the perfect father, but intuition was telling him something…
“You didn’t do it, did you?” John mused. “At least, not that fire.”
It was interesting, however, that Alastair had pinned the Savage & Co. fire on the son—that Nick had started it himself, along with the other arsons. Alastair had just been the muscle, committing the murders and the brandings on the victims.
John wasn’t so sure he believed that. He leaned in a bit and gave Nick a wry smile.
“Did Daddy do that one for ya?” he asked.
At that, Nick held firm. “My father has nothing to do with this.”
Hmm, a bit of familial loyalty? Maybe trying to prove himself, John detected. How far is he willing to go to protect his dad?
“So you did do it, along with the other arsons,” John said.
“Are you trying to get him to confess without a plea deal?” Amelia snarked.
“I’m trying to figure out how badly this kid wants to stay out of jail for the rest of his life,” John said.
“I’m not a fucking kid,” Nick grumbled.
“If you have something for us on Daniel Savage, then we’re willing to listen,” Sam added. “Do you really want to spend the rest of your life in jail?”
Nick crossed his arms, clearly uncooperative.
Sam narrowed his gaze. “This is your last chance, Nick.”
“You don’t have anything on me except for the word of a murdering felon,” Nick retorted. “I’ll beat this trial in a few months and I’ll be out free…but if you really want to know, I’ll let you in on a little something.”
He leaned in, meeting John’s eyes.
“Dad retaliates,” said Nick. “I think you know that best of all, Detective. This time, I think it’s one son for another. And you’ve got two to pick from.”
“Nick,” Amelia warned, but he ignored her.
He glanced at a carefully stoic Sam before he smirked in John’s face, which had become devoid of all humor and revealed the stoniness underneath.
“If I were a betting guy, I’d put my money on the one that had a fucking building fall on him.”
Tumblr media
After leaving the county jail, John drove Sam and Cas back to his sons’ apartment. They couldn’t treat Nick’s warning as an idle threat.
Sam was the prosecutor on the case. He wasn’t willing to step down, so the best they could do for him was give him a police security detail that would have to be with him at all times. However, all three men agreed that you, Dean, and Eileen needed to be put in protective custody during the trial.
“Damn it, Dean,” Sam muttered. His brother wasn’t answering his cell.
“Try him again,” said John.
“Is Eileen still at work?” Cas asked.
“Yeah, but she’s talking to the principal now about a temporary replacement for her classes,” Sam replied. He was worried about her safety, but he was also worried about you and Dean. Neither of you were answering your cell phones.
He later let John and Cas into his apartment, where all looked normal and clean.
“Dean!” Sam called out. He was just about to search the apartment when the man came out of his room, looking freshly showered.
“Hey, what’s up?” said Dean. “The gang’s all here, huh?”
“I’ve been calling you for an hour. Where’ve you been?” Sam asked in annoyance, though it was edged with a hint of more that tipped off Dean.
He sensed the tension in the room between his brother, his father, and his friend. He frowned.
“I had a doctor’s appointment. Why?”
John explained the latest round of questioning with Nick Savage, and his most recent threat. John asked where you were right now, if not in the apartment. Dean’s expression shifted to one of worry as he went to find his cell phone.
“She had a job interview,” he admitted, scrolling through his phone to find your name. “She couldn’t reschedule it, else she would’ve gone with me.”
He’d been uneasy about you going to the interview by yourself, but you hadn’t wanted him to change his appointment, and you had assured him it was only a few minutes away…
Dean held the phone to his ear and waited what felt like an eternity as it rang.
Pick up. Pick up, damn it.
Finally, the line connected.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted…but you didn’t answer.
“You there?” he asked. There was a pit forming in his stomach when he glanced up at John. His father met his gaze with furrowed brows that betrayed concern.
The line was silent for one more painful moment. Dean opened his mouth to call out to you again, but a smooth voice interrupted.
“Dean, Dean, Dean,” a man replied. “Forgetting something?”

AN: 🫣 Sorry lol.
But the next chapter will bring the final showdown...
Next Time:
Dean’s heart began to pound. His mouth parted, but for a moment, the words wouldn’t escape.
“Who is this?” he said. His voice was a hint unsteady.
“I think you know, son,” the man replied.

We Belong Together Sanji (OPLA)
Tumblr media
Sanji takes an interest in you after finding out your dream. Sanji x Female Reader.
Y/N
Every month for the past year you'd come to The Baratie to deliver fresh fish since your home was only an island away and you'd taken over from your older brother who was looking after his family. Fishing ran in your blood, you could spend hours on a dock watching the waves. Zeff the owner had been looking for a new fish supplier and your family came highly recommended.
It was hard at first to be taken seriously as the youngest child and only daughter, but you could stand your ground and not take crap from anyone who tried to barter a lower price.
Your boat docks and you stare at the odd restaurant in the middle of the sea, knowing full well what waited for you on the inside. A particular blonde in a suit who'd taken an interest in trying to charm you for the past year. At first,' you thought he was trying to flirt his way to a lower price and shut him down, but after a couple more months you realised he was just a flirter.
You didn't really have time to date guys due to your family business, but you'd be lying to yourself if you didn't like the attention Sanji gave you even if he did it to every girl who walked through the door.
'Okay boys, unload and take the stock around back!' you call out tp your small crew, as you head off the ship to settle up with Zeff.
At this time of day the place was quiet, minus the staff getting ready for dinner service. Zeff comes out of the kitchen grinning, 'did you bring us the big ones y/n?'
You nod, 'only the best for you Zeff.'
He laughs before heading back into the kitchen and you follow him. As soon as you step foot in the kitchen, the main hub of activity you spot Sanji at a station and wave at him. You walk into Zeff's office where he already had your payment waiting, and some paperwork for you to sign.
'I don't know what that boy is up to y/n, but he's been preparing for your arrival,' Zeff speaks up.
You smile and put the berries and paperwork in your satchel, 'thanks for the heads up. Same time next month.'
Zeff waves you off and you head into the kitchen, seeing your guys unloading crates of fish. Sanji appears in front of you naming you jump a little.
'So, I asked around and everyone thinks I'm a great catch and would be perfect for you y/n,' he says proudly, and his accent was more than enough to sway you.
You hum, 'who exactly did you ask?'
Sanji blinked a couple of times before running his fingers through his hair, it was safe to say you made him a little nervous not falling for his charms, 'err like everyone. You and I are meant to be together y/n, I just know it.'
Sanji showing vulnerability surprised you, this was a new side you kind of liked and admired. You motion towards the main door indicating the two of you should head outside if you wanted some privacy.
Once outside you tilt your head towards the blonde, 'tell me why then.'
Sanji bites his lip, 'because I found out we share the same dream.'
'The All Blue,' you whisper.
Sanji nods and closes the space between you, taking your hands in his, 'One day I'll leave this place and I want you by my side y/n.'
'It's not that easy Sanji, what about my family business? You ask and squeeze his hands.
'You've said to yourself your brother and his family can take over. I'm a cook but I need someone to fish for me,' Sanji replies, adding a little humour at the end.
You smirk and meet his eyes, stand on your tiptoes and peck his cheek, 'took you a year but I'm down. When you decide to leave come and pick me up.'
A blush appears on Sanji's cheeks after your brief kiss, 'I guess I'll be seeing you then y/n.'
You nod, 'No sweeping any other ladies off their feet until then, you promise? I'll be back in a month with the next delivery.'
He bends down and kisses your forehead, 'I'm a man of my word y/n.'
Little did you know he'd come calling before the next delivery, and the two of you set sail to The Grand Line to find The All Blue together.

Take The Weight Off His Shoulders - Chapter Five
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary | A dead end following a lead at work leaves you tense, with Javi only too happy to help you destress.
Chapter Warnings | Mention of drugs, drug related violence and the drugs trade. Zero knowledge of how journalists find information in the 90s but we ride with it. Explicit smut, these two do some stuff in public that the lord wouldn't approve, fingering, Javi is a dirty talking menace.
Pairing | dbf!Javier Peña x F!Reader
Word Count | 3.5K
Authors Note | So, as well as being a sexy little dbf!Javi fic, this also has another overarching plot that I'm starting to introduce in this chapter - I really hope you like the addition of this other part of the story, as well as these two finally getting it on! Another huge shoutout to @undercoverpena who has been such a rock with this chapter, helping me smooth out the kinks to get it to where I wanted it to be. Thank you for the support so far. If you're enjoying this then reblogs and comments really do help and if you’d like to support me further, please consider a donation to my Ko-Fi.

There’s a spring in your step when you walk into work on Monday. You’d spent all of Sunday is some sort of daze, thinking about what had happened with Javi and all the things that he’d promised you over the phone. You let your hand wander a little on Sunday night, bringing yourself off to his promise of showing you exactly what you’d been missing, so much so that the lack of sleep from keeping yourself awake didn’t bother you as you sat down at your desk, taking out your notes to start working on the piece for the newspaper about the drugs bust in town last week.
“You seem more chipper this morning,” Your boss muses, setting down a mug of coffee next to you like she always does each morning, “You sleeping better?”
The answer is no, not really, just that you’re awake for a far better reason that pining for your dad’s buddy, now you’re awake because he wants you just as much as you want him and those daydreams and the visions that come to you in your dreams are far nicer to deal with than the wondering of if you were going to make a fool out of yourself in front of him.
“Yeah, much better, thanks,” You smile, picking up the mug to take a sip, “I’m gonna start working on the bust story today, hopefully it’ll be ready by the end of the day.”
She places a hand on your shoulder and gives you a squeeze, “Nice work,” She smiles back at you, “Your stories have been really well received recently.”
She leaves you to it, letting you open your notebook, you rip the old pages out, lie them out on the desk in front of you, picking up a pen, putting it to the fresh page to start formulating the bare bones of the story.
It’s easy to start with the facts.
1. There’s a house in town had been involved in a police raid.
2. A large amount of both cocaine and marijuana had been seized.
3. The house had been empty.
4. The police had spoken to the neighbours.
You circle the last point on your notepad: no-one could figure out who would be responsible for storing that amount of drugs at the address. Staring at it, seeing it in a new order, your brain begins to think, wondering about how you might be able to dig deeper.
Something, the instinct that made all of this possible, tells you to start with who owns the house. Fingers typing, suddenly remembering that you’d overheard your dad talking with your mom a few days ago about how they’d tried that avenue and come up at a loss down at the station, but not why.
Opening the webpage for the public records for the county, your fingers drill in the address, clicking on the search result that pops up. Leaning forward in your chair, chin propped on your palm, you scan the information in front of you. There’s a list of everyone who had ever owned the address since it was built, starting from the first all the way down to the last, which is where you realise what the dead end is. The last owner was dead. Had been for almost a year, and the property was waiting to go up for sale again, which meant whoever had been storing the drugs in the house was squatting.
You let out a frustrated sigh, because if the police can’t figure it out from here then what makes you think you can. Except, when you sit there, tapping your fingers against the desk in frustration and realise you’d been there. You’d been in that house a few months ago with Liv, who had dragged you to some kind of party.
Almost automatically you’re reaching for the phone and dialing the number you’ve got memorized for her. She picks up on the third ring.
“Hello, this is Laredo insurance, you’re speaking to Liv, how can I help?”
You bite back a giggle at her customer service voice, it’s so unlike the girl you really know, “Hello bestie,” You greet, which has her gasping down the phone.
“Oh my god have I forgotten a lunch date?” She asks.
“No, it’s okay, don’t panic,” You say, “It’s a really random question, but you know that party we went to a few months ago, do you know who hosted it?”
You can hear her clicking her tongue in the background as she thinks, “I can’t even remember who invited us,” She sighs, as do you, “I think I just heard about it from someone, who’d heard about it from someone else.”
“God damn it.” You mumble, head in your hand.
“Is it important?”
“I don’t know,” You answer honestly, “It was the place that got busted last week, and I’m just trying to do some digging, but it’s okay, I’m sure if it’s meant to be I’ll figure it out.”
“I have every faith in you,” You can tell she’s smiling on the other end, “Listen, I gotta bounce, but how about we do drinks later on this week?”
“Sounds good, phone me later and we can sort it out.”
“Alright, bye bestie!”
You laugh and wish her a goodbye, deciding you’ve gone as far as you can with this for today. You save what you have of the story, thinking you could send it to your boss for approval as is, but deep down you know there’s something here you can pull on, something bigger than just busting a house full of drugs and taking them off the streets to be dealt, so you keep it to yourself for the rest of the day.
“I’m heading out,” Your boss speaks as she walks past your desk on the way out, “Did you get the story finished?”
A smile thrown her way in response, trying to cover the fact that you want more time, “Almost,” You speak, “Just a few more tweaks and a couple of things I want to check, but I’ll get it to you as soon as I can.”
She nods, seemingly pleased that you’re wanting to make it as perfect as possible, “No rush, we can hold it for a few days until you’re happy with it.”
“Thank you, I appreciate it.”
“Well, you have yourself a good evening and I’ll see you tomorrow.”
You wish her the same, watching as she heads out, leaving you in the office alone. You sigh, annoyed that there’s nothing further you can really do. You save the document, gathering your things and deciding you can worry about what to do next tomorrow.
When you emerge from the front door of the office and look across the parking lot to your car, you’re taken aback to find Javier’s truck parked in the space right next to it. He’s leaning against the driver’s side of the truck, casual as anything, with his ankles crossed over each other and his arms crossed over his chest. He notices you stood still, motions you with his head to come over.
Your feet carry you across the parking lot, shoulders heavy with stress and that niggling feeling that you’ve been missing something all day, the one thing that’s going to make you realise what’s going on, but seeing Javi slip his aviators off his face and tuck them into his shirt, shooting a smile your way, you feel a little better.
“What are you doing here?”
He shrugs, in that cool, casual way that he always does, “Wanted to see you,” He reaches out, taking your hand in his to pull you closer, but does so whilst looking around, making sure no-one either of you know can see you, “Wanted to do this.”
Then he leans down, presses his lips to yours, one hand cradling your cheek. It’s different to the kiss at the ranch, it’s not rushed. He keeps his lips pressed against your own for a while, pulling away, but planting one right on your forehead as he leans back against the car.
You bite your bottom lip between your teeth, smiling a little as you feel the temperature rise across your face, “How did you know what time I finished?”
“Lucky guess,” He shrugs, “Thought if you didn’t come out within an hour I’d have just gone home, tried again tomorrow.”
“You would have waited for me for an hour?” You chuckle, leaning against your own car behind you.
“Yeah,” He nods with a smile, “Would wait a lot longer but you know how it is, things to do.”
You settle your back against the passenger side of your car, rubbing a hand up one of your arms, “You seem tense,” Javi observes, “What’s up?”
You consider telling him the whole story, but there’s something niggling in the back of your mind that this is something you should keep to yourself for a while, just until you can try digging for more information first. If you keep drawing up blanks then you can ask him, see if his expertise can offer any ideas, but for now, you keep it vague.
“It’s just work,” You shrug, “Deadlines and stuff, but I’ll be okay.”
You watch him look at you, those beautiful brown eyes looking directly into your own, his mouth pulled into a smirk, “You wanna take a drive?” He asks, head tilting to his truck, “Let me help with some of that stress.”
That familiar pool of arousal is settling in your tummy, excitement thrumming through your veins at what he means. He wants to touch you, and God do you want to touch him right back. But it’s getting late, and you know you’re parents are going to wonder where you are soon enough. There’s not enough time to go driving around, but you think there’s just enough time for something else.
You grin back at him, reaching to grasp his wrist in your hand, somewhat aware of how big he is when you can’t fit your fingers all the way round it. You drag him back across the parking lot, and down the side of the your office building. It’s a small alley, definitely not the most romantic spot, but at least it doesn’t smell, and unless someone is coming looking, you’re not going to be disturbed, most people having gone home from the offices on either side of you.
You go down just far enough that you’re in the shadows, far enough that even if someone did wander past, you’re going to be hidden as much as possible. You drop his hand as you lean back against the brick wall, staring at him as he takes a step closer to you, hands settling on your waist.
“You want me here?” He speaks lowly, bringing his face closer to yours, so close that you could reach up on your toes and kiss him, but you want to see if he breaks first.
You nod your head, tipping it back against the brick, shoving your hips off the wall as some kind of hint to him, “What do you want, hermosa?”
“Want you to touch me, Javi.” You breathe, leaning up just a touch so he can feel the breath from your lips across his.
“But I already am.” He smirks, eyes flitting to where his hands are resting on your hips.
With a roll of your eyes, you reach your own hand down your body, coming to rest of the waistband of your work trousers. You motion your head a little, dragging Javi’s eyes down to where your hand is resting on the button of your trousers, making sure he’s watching when you pop it open, dragging the zip down and then leaving it like that.
His own hand trails from your right hip, warm fingers brushing the skin you’ve revealed, but he doesn’t move them further, just lets his fingers rest on the skin as he brings his lips to your jaw, kissing softly from your chin, all the way up to the delicate skin behind your ear, “Want me to touch you here?” He all but growls into your ear as his hand sinks beneath your trousers, wide palm cupping you through your underwear, bringing a gasp from your throat, “Yeah, sounds like you do baby.”
You bring your hands up to rest on his shoulders – something to grip onto as his fingers trace along the seam of your pussy through the thin cotton of your panties. His touch is gentle, but the way his mouth is pressing hot and wet to the skin across your neck is anything but. It’s searing, and exciting, and wrong but in all the right ways.
“If I dip my fingers under here,” He asks, fingers toying with the elastic of your panties, “You gonna be wet for me, querida?”
“W-why don’t you find out?” You choke out, feeling him smile against the skin of your neck as his fingers dip just below the waistband of your panties, fingers dragging over the curls on your mound, down lower, until they’re so close to where you want them.
He dips his fingers through your folds, slipping them into you so easily. Your mouth drops open, his own so close to yours that you could feel his lips on yours as you moan, his fingers dragging out of you and up to your clit, where he starts gently circling.
“What’s got you all worked up, eh?” He asks, his other hand coming to grip your chin, forcing you to look at him, your mouth dropped open as he works his fingers across your clit, “Can’t just be from me right here,” He muses, “You been sat at your desk thinking about me?”
He presses his fingers more firmly across your clit, it feels so good, the way he’s working you, “T-think about you a-all the time.” You croak out from your throat, hips starting to move with his hand, needing something more.
“Naughty little thing,” He breathes into your ear, teeth nibbling lightly at your earlobe as his fingers drag from your clit back down to where you’re so slick for him, his fingers slipping back inside you, but curling up, finding a spot inside you that no-one had even shown you existed until now, “Feel good?” He asks, “You tell me what works, okay?”
You nod, two of his fingers working in and out of you. It feels good, but it’s nothing compared to the way he made you feel before, when his fingers trailed over your clit in little circles. You grip his wrist, “Outside,” You say simple, “Like how you were doing it before.”
He presses his lips to yours, dragging his fingers back up through your folds, using his middle finger to draw light circles over your swollen bundle of nerves, “Like this?” He asks, which is punctuated with a moan from your lips. It’s loud enough this time that his free hand is flying to cover your mouth with his palm, shushing you as he presses his body against yours, pinning you in place, his own excitement no longer hidden from you. You can feel the bulge of his cock through his jeans, pressing into your side as the movement of his fingers speeds up, just a touch.
Whilst it’s a familiar feeling – it’s the way you’re used to bringing yourself off, more often than not to the thought of the very man in front of you – there’s something so different about Javi being the one to have you dangling over the edge, teetering on the edge of pleasure just with his fingers.
“Tell me, bebita,” He coos into your ear, “Has anyone else ever made you come?”
His palm is still covering your mouth, so you can’t speak, so all you do is shake your head in response, watching as his eyes darken and he sticks his bottom lip out a little in a pout, “Poor girl,” He says, his middle finger speeding up just a touch again, pressing harder, “Shall we fix that?” He asks, which has you nodding your head so ferociously that it should be embarrassing, “Go on then,” He coaxes, “I know you’re close, just let go for me.”
If someone had told you months ago, before he’d reappeared in town, that Javier Peña would be the first man to make you cum, pressed against the brick wall of your office, with his hand clamped around your mouth to stop you from crying out, you’d have told them to get lost.
Your entire body shakes as your orgasm starts to ripple through you. White hot pleasure explodes across your lower body, your fingers dig into Javi’s shoulders, fisting the material of his shirt as he finally drops his hand from your mouth, gripping at your waist to keep your upright when the shaking of your legs threatens to topple you to the ground. His fingers are moving across you more slowly, but are adding just enough pressure to work you through those aftershocks, until it becomes too much.
Your forehead hits his shoulder, your hands wrapping around the breadth of his broadness as he drags his hand from your trousers, slipping both around your back to drag you into his body, “Did so good for me, querida.” He praises, rubbing a soothing hand up and down your spine through your shirt.
“Felt good.” You manage to mumble into the material covering his shoulder, pushing yourself back up and off him, hand trailing down his chest to try and touch him, return the favour, but he’s gripping your wrist to stop you.
“Not tonight,” He says, “Just wanted to make you feel good.”
“But-” You try to protest, but his grip on your wrist is strong and you can’t move it.
“I promise I’ll let you return the favour, but not tonight, okay?”
You nod your head. Javi brings his hands to your trousers, zipping them back up and pushing the button through the buttonhole. He tugs the hem of your shirt back into place, before he presses a kiss to the tip of your nose. He glances at the watch on his wrist, clocking the time, “It’s late, querida,” He sighs, “We better get you on the road.”
And it’s a strange feeling, that this tiny little bubble is bursting so soon. You know it’s important to keep this under wraps, you’re sure no-one would be pleased to find out that Javier Peña, your dad’s friend, had been pinning you to a wall and coaxing an orgasm from you with his fingers, and there’s something about the secrecy of it all that makes it more exciting, but as you walk back to your respective vehicles, Javi so far away that you can’t reach out to touch him, it stings a little. Stings a little that you’re not going to get to be normal with him, that for now, your relationship, whatever that might be, is going to be kept secret, clandestine meetings and stolen glances wherever possible, when all you really want to do is grasp his hand in yours and shout to everyone that he belongs to you.
“We going to make this a habit?” You ask, unlocking your door and sliding into the drivers seat.
Javi keeps a hang on the top of the door, keeping it open for a while, “What?” He smirks, “Pressing you up against brick walls?”
“Pressing each other against brick walls,” You correct, “It’s your turn next time.”
He runs a ringer over his bottom lip, a habit you’ve known for years is something he does when he’s nervous or stressed, “I need you to know if I didn’t have to keep you a secret, I wouldn’t, okay?” You smile up at him, nodding your head, “I promise it won’t always have to be like this, but just for now, okay?”
“Okay,” You nod, “Now give me a kiss goodbye and let me go home.”
He does just that, leans down and gives you a kiss, one that you would class as proper this time, where he opens his mouth against yours, licks into your mouth, the coarse hair above his lip scratching lightly at your skin. He pulls away just a touch, pecking you on the lips once, then twice, then a final time, when you grip the collar of his shirt to keep him there just a little moment more.
“Go home, Javi.” You giggle when you finally let him go, “I’ll see you soon.”
He gives you a final chaste kiss to your lips then shuts your door for you, walking around your car to get in his truck. You wonder for a while if there’s going to a weird stand-off between the two of you, but he turns the key in his ignition and drives off with a final wave, leaving you to do the same.
When you pull up outside your home, you pull the mirror down, make sure nothing on your face gives away what you’d just been up to, smoothing down your hair. You take a second to take a few deep breaths, before you step out, going back to being the innocent daughter your parents still believe you to be.

oh, sister, I am sorry. your eyes are sunken and your skin is bruised. your lips are chapped, your nailbeds bitten raw. your husband's hand on your waist is a ghost's touch held by the band on your left ring finger and I-
I am dead.
I got on the train, Su. Nevermind your tears, nevermind the plea you could not shape with words, nevermind your fingers on the pulse point of my wrist. "stay", you'd said, as you have always done, dictionary in hand and baby teeth yet lodged in your jaw. "don't go where i cannot."
I step through a wardrobe and you follow, damned be reason. I slay a wolf and you follow, I cling to the little ones and you follow, I am crowned and you follow, I am-
I go past a lamp post, and you follow, damned be dread. I go to a train station and you follow, trembling hands and tender heart. I go, and I go, and I go, and you follow. Sun of my skies. Light of my life.
I go. you stop.
are we too old for stories, now? ten-and-four and ten-and-three, budding bodies and steel bones, we are cast from our home. i hold the little ones until i drown in them. you grip your skirts until no iron can press the shape of your palms from them. and you have ever been, cruelly reasonable and logically callous.
say you, glass shard eyes and rouge-red lips: we are english. we are children. she thinks she has found a magical land in the upstairs wardrobe.
say I, trembling hands and coiling guts: we are narnian. we are monarchs. if she's not mad and she's not lying, then logically she must be telling the truth.
my sister Susan, beautiful as folk tales are and twice as sharp, did you intend every invitation you took for me to twist the knife a godly animal once thrust into my guts? perhaps it was the way your eyes turned blue, or the sound of your laughter losing its bells. perhaps it was just my trembling fingers at the back of your legs, drawing stocking lines where no stockings had ever lain.
the line came out shaking, and you rubbed it off until your skin cried red. the hem of your dress still dripped wet when you left that day, turning on heels too narrow for you to walk in.
do you remember? it took you days to come home, and mother wailed for all of them. you crawled into my bed that night, as you did when we were parents to our little ones, those terrible months. your head on my shoulder, your breath in my ear, I held you until morning.
your mouth in my throat, eyes heavy with sleep, tongue heavy with champagne: we are here now. we must make the best of it. he cannot have all our lives, and all our joys. i wish you would laugh again.
doesn't little lucy, shrieking mouth and tumbling legs, laugh enough for us all?
lucy's manic. if she didn't laugh she'd cry.
i think sometimes, in the parts of my guts that are still a schoolboy, and are mean and cruel to match, that the alcohol makes you softer than the daylight ever could. i do not tell you.
i press my lips to your forehead. i wrap my arms around you. the year between us rings heavy, and when I get up in the morning, you do not follow.
I tried, Su. I did. I applied for university, I saw that girl with that smile. with those eyes. I let you take sections from the paper before I ever touched it, I held the little ones in my arms, and I made coffee in the morning. I sat all my exams.
I smiled when the little ones came back smelling of home.
Aslan's wounds, did I try. but-
I have ever been a thing made for stories. brave the way knights are, bloody knuckles and buckling pride. a horse between my calves, a sword in my hands.
I think, sometimes, that I was born for my sword, for the hollow ringing of my heart when I first held it. a part of me, even then, ten-and-three and soaked to the bone.
such bravery is not made for real world boys and real world taunts. there is a map, I think, from the summits of my knuckles to the jaws of every boy who ever looked at me and bared his teeth.
I am sovereign. I am the skies for your sun to burn in.
I am made wrong, for this england, and I cannot take this life you want. I belong, I think, into myths and legend, the star-studded shards of our home.
so I went on the train, Susan. so I died, and I named what you have chosen. so I banned you from their scorning mouths. so you grip your husband's hand, realest of us all, and you cry. you do not follow.
Forgive me.

I saw you wanted some ideas for Leon so here’s mine: you’re hiding with him in the RPD from Mr.X in the stars office, and the more you talk the more you realize you’re into each other. A small make-out session turns into something more and Mr.X becomes your last worry.
Btw, I loved your recent Leon fic :3

I take commissions so if you're interested check my Ko-Fi. ❤️
You were both panting as you barely escaped the monster that was chasing you relentlessly all night. He was tall and strong, and bullets didn't kill him. From the distance, it looked like a normal person given the simple outfit; he was wearing a hat and a trenchcoat, both black, but from up close, he was rather scary due to his grey skin and dead eyes. The height also added to the intimidating factor.
How did he end up dressed that way? You asked yourself as you saw him kneeling on the ground. Leon just emptied a clip by shooting his head. Apparently, bullets stop him for a bit, giving you a chance to run. Still, you couldn't help but be amused by his attire.
"Who the fuck gave this thing a fedora?" You asked quietly as you passed near him. "Like, it has to be custom made or something? Look at the size of its head…"
"Probably, but I think we have more important things to worry about right now."
You hurried outside the library and never stopped running. They just kept coming… from all directions. You tried blocking some windows, but it was useless.
All this time, you followed Leon's command, as he seemed more collected, even if he was just a rookie. You had a hunch that he was trying to impress you, and you had two reasons. One, you heard him curse like a sailor around the station before meeting him—something that didn't happen when he was with you—and two, you caught him staring at you a few times. He'd looked away every time you turned your attention to him, but he couldn't hide that smirk.
"This way," he whispered as he gently closed the door behind him.
"Where to-"
"Shh," he said, pointing to the ceiling. Your face turned pale at the sight of the horrendous creature that was crawling. Its sharp, long claws tapped on the surface as he walked on all fours; its brain was popping out, and he didn't appear to have any eyes. Terrified, you froze in place, but Leon grabbed your hand and guided you into the corridor.
"Just watch your steps, ok?" he whispered again in a soft voice, trying to soothen you. "Don't look at it; you'll be fine. Just stick with me."
With steady steps, you made your way to the STARS office and closed the door behind you. Leon pressed his ear on the door, and once he heard the licker crawling away, he told you that you were safe.
You let out a sigh of relief. You hadn't realised you were holding your breath until now.
"Good. Listen, do you mind if we rest a bit here? It's too much cardio for me," you joked.
"Sure, I could use some rest too."
The STARS office was clear, and you found supplies too. Some medicine, ammo, food, and water felt like a gift sent from God. There was also an armory, but it needed to be unlocked from the computer. A reminder that your work is far from done. Still, you tried to enjoy your small break. Leon was sitting at one desk from the edge, and you were sitting next to him. Behind you was a nice brown leather jacket, which you considered taking, but it was too big to fit you. The team's belongings were intact, making you wonder why they closed the unit so suddenly.
"Where do you think they are? Do you think they are safe?" you asked Leon, who was busy starring in the blank.
"They are probably doing better than we are. Those guys were elite."
"I think we're holding up pretty well, considering you're a rookie and I never touched a gun."
"Yeah…you almost blasted my brains back then," he chuckled.
"I'm sorry about that." You said it soflty and gently squeezed his forearm as a sign of comfort. "But you burst through that door, and I panicked."
"It's alright," he said, smiling. He smoothly slid his arm to the edge so he could grab your hand. Your fingers intertwined quickly.
"Thanks for the quick lesson, tho…it came in handy."
"No problem, you're a natural," he winked, which made you blush.
"Yeah, but I kinda had a great teacher."
"What can I say? I work best under stress."
You both chuckled. A short pause followed, in which both of you just stared at each other. Leon wanted to say so many things to you. He wanted to praise you for being so brave and for taking care of him; he wanted to tell you how lucky he feels to have found you in this mess, but he didn't know where to start.
"You ok?" you asked, seeing that he got lost in his thoughts again.
"Yeah, I'm fine… I was grateful for having you with me; that's all."
"Really? For a moment, I thought I slowed you down."
"Me slowing you down? You're faster than me. You actually left me behind a couple of times."
"Oh, that? I thought you did that on purpose...just trying to get rid of me."
He chuckled.
"Nah...I never wished to get rid of you. I really like having you around." He said.
"Me too..."
Neither of you let go of the other's hand.
You both stopped talking. Your smiles dropped and your eyes closed as you leaned forward towards each other. Soon, your lips touched over and over again, filling the room with faint sounds of kissing. You were both shy at first, but Leon got more courageous and came closer to you. His hands found your waist, and you cupped his face, prolonging the kiss. Soon, you felt Leon's tongue trying to find yours, and the kiss got a lot more intense.
Not carrying about Mr.X and other threats, you climbed onto Leon's lap and continued to kiss him with the same passion. Now you were closer to each other as you wrapped your arms around his neck, and he wrapped his big arms around your waist, hugging you and keeping you close.
It shows that Leon craved this kind of affection and intimacy from the sweet whimpers that came out occasionally.
"Wait…" he said as he broke the kiss. "I know a more comfortable chair…"
You didn't know what he meant until he suddenly stood up while managing to carry you and went to Wesker's office. He was a strong fella.
On his way, he never ceased to kiss you, becoming even more eager.
He sat on Wesker's chair, which was more comfortable and much bigger than the previous one. Since your legs had more room to rest, you had the strength to roll your hips over his crotch, letting out small, deep whimpers as you felt his bulge growing between your legs.
His hands squeezed your flesh as they ran along your waist. His muscles relaxed under your precise movements. His needy whines filled the room as you kept moving faster.
"Y/N…" He whispered shyly, breaking the kiss for a few seconds before coming to taste your lips again. He felt his cock throbbing in his pants. He wanted you; he craved you. It was unbearable.
You felt the same way, and your cunt was throbbing with excitement as you thought about him inside you…he felt…big…
With fast movements, you took your pants off, and then you proceeded to strip him off. His cock jumped in the air once his boxers slipped past those big thighs of his, and oh, what a sigh it was. He was long, thick, and leaked heavily in front of your eyes. You watched how a droplet of his precum glided along his length, making you drool. His tip glistered as it was basically drenched in his own juices.
You teasingly tapped his tip with one of your fingers, which made him whine loudly.
"Y/N…" he said, his attempt to maintain his composure being obvious.
"Shh. Just stick with me." You said this, looking at him with siren eyes.
You climbed back, one leg slidding next to him, and the other followed slowly. You raised a bit and aligned yourself above his tip. You wrapped your arms around his neck as you began to descend slowly and gasped when you felt his cock entering inside you. When he felt himself inside you, he pulled you again in a passionate, eager kiss.
Moans and whimpers filled Wesker's office quickly. You let out sharp, deep exhales as you took more and more of him. You struggled a bit at first, but both of you were so wet that after a few thrusts, you slid up and down with ease. Leon moved his hands to your ass, squeezing your cheeks hard with every throb of his cock. Not only did you feel him leak inside you, but you also felt how he rubbed that sweet spot inside you. It was pure bliss, which turned your mind foggy.
He also thrust his hips from beneath you, matching your own rhythm. You allowed yourselves to sink deeper into each other's touch without being bothered by what was happening out there. The kiss became messier, the touching more intense, and the thrusts more erratic as you chased your own release.
However, Leon felt that his time would come sooner, so he lifted you spontaneously and placed you on the desk, knocking down everything that would make you uncomfortable. Was that too loud? He didn't care.
"You are so strong, officer." You teased him and gave him the same dirty look, enjoying how that made him visibly weaker. He rolled his eyes and lowered his head a bit to the side, trying to hide his blushing cheeks.
His cock was halfway inside you now, and his arm rested near your head. With a deep breath, he began to thrust inside you, and he maintained eye contact this time. His face was still red, but not because of embarrassment, but because of how good your cunt made him feel. You wrapped your legs around his waist so you could feel him deeper.
His pace was slow at first, and he didn't go all in. It was pleasant, of course, but you wanted more, so you gently pulled him closer with your legs.
Understanding your intentions, he went all in, his balls constantly slapping your skin with each thrust. His breathing became faster, and your moans became louder as he finally hit that spot inside you again. When he picked up the pace, he placed his big thumb at your clit and stroked it fast. You felt a familiar pressure in your lower belly, and your throbbing cunt gave him a clue that you were about to cum.
"Leon…don't stop…" You said it between whimpers.
With his final strength, he went even faster with both his thrusts and strokes, and finally, he felt your wall clenching around his cock. With rolled eyes and curled toes, you grabbed his forearms as the orgasm hit you hard. A few seconds after your climax, you heard his moans getting louder. Then you felt hot spurts of his cum filling you up fast.
Both of you were trying to catch your breath now. Leon collapsed on top of you and allowed himself to indugle with your gentle touch for a few moments. Your arms were tightly wrapped around his tired body, with one hand playing with some strands of his blonde, smooth hair. The other caressed his back.
His nose was buried in your neck, enjoying the warmth and comfort that your body provided.
"I never thought I'd get laid on my first day as a police officer," he muffled, making you chuckle.
"Well, I bet you never expected a zombie apocalypse either."
"To be honest, if you would've asked me a few days ago which was more likely to happen, I'd go for the zombie apocalypse."
You chuckle again.
"You need to be more confident, Leon." Your fingers moved to his nape. "You're a great guy."
Once he felt your feather-like touch, he sighed with satisfaction.
"Oh yeah, just like that."
You began to massage gently. All this time, he remained inside you, and neither of you protested.
"You like that?"
He let out an affirmative hum.
"I'll tell you what," you began in a soft, calming voice. "When this is over, we keep in touch and go on a normal date. To get to know each other, you know?"
"Sounds good, but we need to get out of here in one piece…"
"Hmm…yeah…let's do that then."
He pulled out eventually and helped you get dressed.
You slowly made your way out of the STARS office, then made your way further into the station, looking for a way out. Now you look at the situation with a little more hope. Maybe it's because of the sex, or maybe you realised you have someone to count on. Who knows, but one thing is sure: you lived to go on your first date.

Hiii i have a Javier Pena request if thats ok?🤍
I was wondering if you could do something where like Javi is a bit dismissive of the reader, but also not mean just ignores them or talks over them and they think he doesnt like them..
then shes on a mission and she gets injured and hes panicking back at the office. Shouting at steve to know where you are etc. then you come into the office like bruised and bloody and he rushes to you, protective. And he takes you to his and cleans you up, eventually leading to fluffy romantic smut and ending with cuddles and admitting his feelings for you
Scared Feelings
Pairings: Javier Peña x fem!reader
Genre: Angsty + Smut
Warnings: Blood, mentions of dying, cuts, wounds etc. MINORS DNI sex, cursing, naked, cum, you know the drill
MasterList
A/N: Ty for this lovely request! Enjoy! <3
Tumblr media
You have been working with agent Peña and agent Murphy for some time. Ever since you three have been on with this Escobar case. This was probably the most serious and risk taking cases you have been on since you started working as a DEA agent. Murphy was a sweetheart around you, being a gentlemen and making sure you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing. Javi on the other hand, let’s just say you guys don’t talk that much. You wouldn’t consider yourself friends. Sure you two greet each other but it’s very awkward and the tension is very sharp for no reason. Steve tried asking you what’s been the issue between you and Javi but you can’t seem to know why he doesn’t like you. You brush it off mostly, not wanting it to effect you so much.
It’s been months since you guys haven’t caught Escobar and everyone was getting frustrated.
“If we don’t find this son of a bitch, we all are going into a shithole.” Steve gritted out through his teeth.
“We tried everything, nothing. His guys are talking, what else is there to do. He’s too smart for us.” You said as you took a drag from your cigarette,
“Then we outta risk it.” Javi said making you and Steve turn to look at him,
“Then what? Have us die and make shit more complicated here?”
Javi scoffed at Steve’s remark, “This is our job Steve, we’re meant to risk our lives.” You said making Steve sigh, he ran a hand through his mess blonde locks as he shook his head. “Fuck it.”
You were assigned a mission downtown where apparently one of Escobar’s closet henchmen was meeting up with someone relative to Escobar. Unfortunately, Steve and Javi were ordered to stay back at the office and signal out radio stations to get any phone call information from Escobar. You assigned with other DEA agents, you just wished you were with Steve and Javi even though Steve was most likely better to be around in these types of situations. “Currently downtown, no signs of any suspicion yet.” You said over the Walkie-Talkie to Steve
“Copy that.”
“You think she can handle this?” Javi asked as he took a drag from his cigarette
“Of course she can, you think she can’t?”
Javi shrugged “Just saying, she’s never done it without us before.”
Steve smirked as he looked at his partner
“What?”
“You like her, don’t ya?
Javi choked on the smoke from his cigarette “The fuck? What’s your problem?”
Steve just wheezed as Javi was turning red “Aw, come on man, I know you do. Is that why you’re always quiet around her?”
Javi sighed as he leaned back in his chair giving Steve the finger “Shut the fuck up man.” Steve just shrugged as he continued to snicker making Javi grumble.
“He’s on the move.” You said into the Walkie-Talkie as you got out of the vehicle and crouched as you slowly made your way over to the guy, Steve jumped at your voice “Copy that kid, stay hidden.”
“On it.” You signaled the other agents to go in different directions and to follow your lead no matter what. You noticed the guy giving the dude some clear bag with something in it. You couldn’t tell what. “Target in sight.”
“See? Piece of cake for her.” Javi rolled his eyes as him and Steve continued on getting any radio signal but also keeping the lookout for you. You were about to stand up but to only feel someone yank you to the ground. You yelped in surprise as you tried to fight back. Apparently you were tricked. The guy had more of Escobar’s henchmen surrounding the area you were at watching. “I’m down! It’s a trap!” You managed to say in the Walkie-Talkie while confusing to get the guy off of you. Javi’s eyes widened at that as Steve stood up grabbing the Walkie-Talkie. “Y/N! Hey! Kid! What’s going on!” You didn’t have time to answer as you were struggling with some guy on top of you with a gun.
“Perra estúpida, ¿crees que nos engañaste?” Stupid bitch, you think you outsmarted us? The guy said while punching you in the stomach making you yelp in pain, you tried to grab his fist but he was much more stronger than you. You quickly grabbed the Walkie-Talkie trying to respond back to Steve
“Send backup! Send backup!” You yelled as the man grabbed the Walkie-Talkie as started hitting you in the head with it before breaking it.
“Y/N! Hey! Y/N answer me! Shit!” Steve quickly got up to and ran to his and Javi’s office to grab his gun
“The fuck is happening?” Javi asked while also grabbing his gun
“She’s in trouble, it was a trap.”
“Fuck.” Javi said quietly, him and Steve exited the office was about to exit the building when Messina blocked their way
“And where do you think you two are going?”
“Y/N is in trouble boss, she needs backup.”
“I will take care of that, you two aren’t going anywhere.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Messina gave Javi a look
“Yes I am Agent Peña. We need you two signaling in the radio room right now.”
“But Y/N is in serious trouble right now Messina.” Steve said as he was getting frustrated knowing you were in danger.
“I understand that agent Murphy, but we are sending backup right now. I ordered you both a job, correct?”
Javi shook his head as he sighed “Yes Ma’am.” Messina nodded her hand
“Fantastic.” She dismissed them both as they walked back to the radio room.
“Fucking bullshit, she’s in trouble right now and she isn’t doing shit to help her. Fuck!” Javi slammed his gun down on the table harshly as he bounced his leg,
“Javi, calm down. Y/N is a strong one.”
“Anything could happen to her Steve.”
Steve gave Javi this look, “Who Are you and what you have with Javier Peña?”
“Fuck, I don’t have time for this Steve.”
Steve bit down a smile “Knew you liked her man.” He whispered knowing Javi couldn’t hear him.
“Ah!” You yelped as the guy that was broke your Walkie-Talkie slammed you into a wall. Where is Steve? Where is Javi? You kept thinking they weren’t coming. Tears were clouding your vision, you never been in this type of situation before for any mission you were assigned.
“Suéltame pedazo de mierda!” Let go of me you piece of shit! Your nose was bleeding as well as the side of your head from being pushed down in the cement of the sidewalk, you had bruises everywhere. The tears started to fall as you prayed for someone to save you. You jumped at every gunshot that rang around your surroundings, event DEA agent that was working with you was either dead or saving themselves. The guy grabbed you by the throat as he began to block your airway. You gasped for air as you grabbed onto the hand that was around your throat, punching at him to the best of your ability.
“Hora de morir perra DEA.” Time to die DEA bitch his other hand reached down to his gun as he aimed it towards your temple.Your heart was racing as you thought about the last seconds of living, you closed your eyes as the tears began to fall harder “Please…” you gasped out as you felt the coolness of the gun stick harder into your head when all of a sudden a long bang rang through your ears. You body jolted as you felt to ground. Blood splattered all over you as you froze. The guy was laying dead with a gunshot to his head. Your breathing was uneven as you couldn’t process what just happened. You heard the sirens and saw flashing lights appear to view. More DEA agents were sent as they were helping you and the others settle everything. One of them helped you into another car to drive you back to the station. You were shaking the whole and couldn’t even speak with how traumatized you were from the scene.
Javi was pacing around the office while Steve watched him. Javi went through at least two packs of cigarettes in the last few hours. That’s how scared he was for you. He couldn’t even believe he was showing how much he cares about you.
“Dude she’s fine. I’m sure she’s ok-
“How the fuck do you know that Murphy?” Javi snapped at him as his hands started to shake, “it’s been three fucking hours since we heard anything. You call that okay?”
“Javi, the more you think this, the worse it becomes for you.” “I need to know if she’s safe or not or so help me—
he was interrupted by the door opening, he jolted up to see Messina. “We got her.”
Javi and Steve sprinted to the entrance of the office to see you wrapped in a blanket all hurt and scared. You looked up at the two men with tears falling down your face and your bottom lip trembling. “Gosh kid.” Steve muttered as he was the first to pull you into a tight hug and he rubbed your back and shushed your whimpers to calm you down.
“I-I’m sorry, I-I didn’t know—
“Stop. It’s not your fault. None of this is Y/N.” He gave your shoulders a squeeze as gave you a small smile as you sniffled. You then turned to Javi who had a worried look on his face. Your smile faded as you looked into his brown eyes. He walked up to you slowly before he wrapped his arms around you as he hugged you as well. You body tightened as you froze. Javi never hugged you before.
“I’m glad you’re okay cariño.” He whispered into your ear making sure Steve and the others didn’t hear him. Your body relaxed in his touch as you hid your smile in his chest as you hugged him back. You both pulled away after a few seconds as you gave Javi and Steve a smile making them smile back at you. You all turned towards the entrance as you watched all the men that attacked in handcuffs be sent away into rooms. You felt the heavy weight on your shoulders release knowing that you were safe. Steve was first one to break the silence.
“Well, it’s time for me to head home. Got a wife and kid to deal with.” He said with a snicker making you smile.
“Tell Connie I said hi.”
Steve nodded as he brought you into one last hug for tonight
“If you need anything, you call me. Anything.”
You nodded at Steve as kissed his cheek as a way of saying thank you. Steve smiled as he squeezed your shoulder as a way of saying bye before waving off Javi and telling him about seeing him tomorrow. Now it was just you and Javi. You swayed around as you looked at your fingers. Too shy to start conversation.
“So you heading home or…”
you jumped lightly at his suddenly voice before looking up at him.
“Oh, um I walked here this morning. I’m fine with walking my apartment isn’t far—
“Like hell you’re walking home after what just happened. Come I’ll take you.” You didn’t have a chance to respond as you shrugged before grabbing your things from your desk before walking up to Javi.
“This isn’t my apartment Jav.” You looked out the window to see his and Steve’s apartment, he turn off the car before stepping out and helping you.
“I know, just figured you needed a drink after tonight. Besides I have stuff to help your wounds and shit.”
You couldn’t help but feel your cheeks tingle at that face that he wants to help you. You didn’t say anything before walking up to him as he lead the way to his apartment. You both made it to his floor as he got out his door keys before opening up the door. He stepped to the side as he gave you a small smile “Ladies first.” You giggled as you stepped into his dark apartment
“Why thank you kind sir.” You teased back making Javi chuckle a bit. You looked around his apartment. “Nice apartment.”
“It’s nothing.” You sat down on his couch as he went to the kitchen to get you a drink. You winced as you felt your bruises becoming worse. You sort of forgot about them. Javi came back with a glass of whiskey. You thanked him as he set his own drink down before going down the hall. You drank the strong liquor in silence as you enjoyed the strong bitter taste. You licked your lips as you set the cup back down as Javi came back with a first aid kit. “Javi, I’m fine really. You don’t need to do all of this.” He shook his head
“I know, I just feel like it’s best to see you in good hands rather than suffering.” He sat next to you as he grabbed out a few cotton ball and peroxide. You sighed before nodding
“Thank you.”
“No need to thank me cariño.”
Cariño
Something about that name made butterflies appear in your stomach and your cheeks became all red.
You winced as the peroxide was stinging your open wound that was on your cheek. “Sorry.” Javi said as he quickly cleaned up the cut
“It’s okay.”
He set a bandaid on your cheek before giving you a soft smile “You’re all patched up.” You smiled, happy that it was over.
“Wow Javi. Maybe you should be in the medical field instead.” You teased as he shook his head while chuckling. You watched him as he put away the first aid and came back with more whiskey. You watched him fill up both of your cups with golden brown liquid as he took out his cigarette packs. He lit one up as he laid back. You both sat in silence for a while before you spoke up. “Javi?” He hummed in response, you sighed as you felt your heart appear in your throat. “How come you never spoken to me?” Javi felt his heart skip a beat as he looked at you, it caught him off guard. So you did notice it. He thought to himself. He set down his cigarette on the ash tray as he rubbed his hands together.
“Listen. It was nothing about me being against you. No hate towards you or anything like that. It’s just… ever since you came around, I’ve felt nervous being around you.” You gave him a frown making him panic “Not in a bad way, it’s just— fuck— you make me feel these types of things I never experienced before.” Your eyes went wide as you felt your heart tighten,
“W-what do you mean.” Javi sighed as he felt himself getting hot and sweaty. It’s now or never.
“I have these feelings around you. Like deep feelings.” You mouth went dry as you understood what Javi was saying, you swallowed.
“You like me?” Javi looked down as he rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
“Yes.” He said quietly but for you to still hear, you froze. “I’m sorry if you felt like I didn’t like you or seemed disrespectful around you. I was just nervous about messing up around you and you thinking I was some dick or something.” You but your lip as you tried to hide the smile appearing on your lips watching him ramble on. “Steve was teasing me about liking you and shit. I’m just a dick for telling you earlier I’m sorr— you cut Javi off as you grabbed the side of his face as smashed your lips on his. It caught Javi off guard as he made a surprised noise and tensing up. He then was brought back down to earth before he relaxed as he wrapped his arms around you to pull you closer. You sighed as your hands traveled to his hair as he cupped your face bringing your face closer and deeper. Javi groaned as you moaned lightly. You both pulled for air but not enough to where your lips were still touching. You both were panting as you both looked into each other’s eyes.
“Was that enough to answer?” You said as Javi chuckled. You leaned your forehead on his as he started to slowly kiss down your neck.
“Hmmm, I don’t know cariño. I think I still don’t understand. Maybe you should show me.” He growled as he started to nip at your neck making you jolt and whine slowly. You crawled into his lap as you started to grind your hips on his already hard cock. Javi groaned as he yanked off his shirt and pants and helping you out of yours. His mouth watered as he stared at your bra. He looked up at you with permission making you nod as you continued to grind on him and moaning.
Javi’s hands were shaking in excitement as he took off your bra with one hand. You looked at him with wide eyes as he smirked at your expression. “Javier you naught menace. How in the hell do you know how to do that?” You nipples hardened at the cool air,
“I may have some experience.” You shook your head as he chuckled lowly. He continued to kiss down your neck before trying to find your sweet spot. You moaned as you rain your fingers through his hair. Hickeys and bite marks scattered all over your neck. Your body jolted as you yelped. “Mmm found it.” You cum right then and there as Javi helped you roll your hips on his hard bulge.
“Javi.”
“What’s wrong baby?”
“N-need you.” Javi chuckled
“Oh you need me?” You nodded as you watched him move down to your tits. You moaned a bit louder as he started to squeeze each tit like a stressing hall. “Words baby.” You whined
“Yes, I-I need you Javi.” He smirked as he continued to play with your boobs. He leaned down as he brought a nipple in his mouth “Oh fuck, Javi.” You moaned as he swirled his tongue over the hardening bud.
“Beautiful. The most beautiful tits ever baby. Gosh, you’re so fucking hot.” You felt yourself getting more wet at his praising.
“Oh fuck! Javi!” You yelped as Javi switched positions with you. You were now laying on the couch as Javi hovered over you. He leaned down as he smashed his lips on yours. You both moaned as you both were grinding your hips together.
“Bet that pussy of yours is all wet for me.” You furrowed your eyes-brows as you nodded at him making him smirk. “Bet you want me to fucking eat you out till your screaming my name Hm?” You quickly nodded at him
“Please Javi, I-I want you to eat my pussy. Please baby I’ll do anything.”
“Good girl begging like the good princess you are.” He leaned down to kiss you as he shoved his tongue in your mouth. You moaned as you wrapped your tongue around his. Spit coming out on the sides of your mouth as your teeth were clanking with his form how rough your make out was. Javi released the kiss as he started to kiss down your body. You shivered from his kisses as he praised you with words
“So beautiful, so sexy, you’re all mine cariño. All.Fucking.Mine.” He growled as he got lower, he kissed around your belly making you whimper as he got to your thighs. Your thugs started to shake making Javi hold them as he kissed your inner thighs so slowly making you squirm.
“Javi please, d-don’t tease me.”
“But where’s the fun in that baby?” He continued to tease you for a while before he started to go to where you needed him most. Your body started to shake from excitement. Javi licked his lips as he admired your lacy panties. He dragged a finger over your lips making you jolt, he then slowly started to rub your clot through your underwear.
“Oh! Fuck!” Javi licked his lips
“Gosh you’re so fucking sexy squirmy for me like a pathetic slut aren’t you mi amor?” You felt butterflies coming in your stomach at the nickname. He then leaned down to press the softest kiss to your clit making you cry out. He dove his nose into your slit as he inhaled your scent. He groaned. “Gosh you smell so good and sweet baby. You want me to taste you?” You nodded quickly making him chuckle. “Don’t worry baby, I will be tasting you.” In a split second he ripped off your underwear. You didn’t even care at this point. He didn’t give you a warning before he dove into your pussy. You moaned so loud it echoed around the living room. Your fingers dove into his messy locks as you grinder on his face.
“Oh shit! Oh my god. Javi you’re so good. Oh my god- baby!” Javi hummed into your pussy as he entered in two fingers into your slit. He then started to kiss your clit multiple times before he sucked on it. Hard. You felt yourself get dizzy as you felt your orgasm coming.
“Shit baby, the most wettest, most beautiful pussy. You gonna come cariño?”
“Yes! Fuck yes!” He felt You tightened around his fingers. He started to finger you more faster as he continued to suck on your clit.
“Let go for me baby. Cum all over my face.”
Your legs shook as your fingers yanked into his locks. Your eyes rolled back into your head as you saw white. The coil in your tummy snapped as you felt your orgasm wash over you. Javi helped you ride out your high as he continued to kitten lick your clit and slit. You jolted as he continued to lick your clit. You whimpered as you pulled him from the back of his neck back to your face, you smashed your lips on him making him groan. You whined as you tasted yourself on him, you plunged your tongue into his mouth making him growl as he cupped your face. You both pulled away with a string of spit connecting your lips. Your hands were reaching down to take his cock out of his boxers, he then stopped you as he grabbed your wrist gently before shaking his head as he smiled at you. “Not tonight baby, I need to be inside you.” You whined as you smirked at him before pecking his lips twice. You laid back down only making him shake his again. You gave him a frown. “I want you to ride me baby.” You felt butterflies again at his low tone making you smile before nodding at him. You quickly got on his lap as you wrapped your arms around his neck. You admired how toned and sort of buff he was. You smiled as you started to touch his shoulders and biceps making him chuckle. “You like what you see cariño?” You giggled as you kissed his neck
“Never realized how strong you were Javi.” Javi smirked at you as he aligned his cock to your entrance. His hands were on your hips as you stared into his eyes. Him staring back at you.
“You ready?” He asked quietly as you nodded, he nodded with you as he slowly started to sink into you. Your body jolted at the feeling before you let out a surprised moan. Javi groaned as his grip tightened on your hips. “Oh fuck, you’re so tight mi amor.”
“O-oh, fuck— Javi, you’re so big.” He chuckled as he helped you move your hips slowly.
“Feels good baby?” You nodded as you started to bounce on his cock, “Need words cariño.” You whined
“Y-yes Javi, feels so good. Fuck! Don’t stop.”
“I’ll never stop. Never.” He growled as he kissed and sucked on your neck. Your bouncing got faster as Javi moved your hips. Your fingers tugging onto his hair. You felt hot and sweaty. You’re moaning got louder as so did Javi’s.
“Fuck! I’m gonna cum. I’m gonna fucking cum. Can I cum inside you mi amor?” Javi groaned out. You looked down at him as you started to feel tears form in your eyes from the overstimulation. You nodded your head rapidly.
“Please!please! Please cum inside me Javi! I wanna feel your cum.” Javi smashed his lips on yours hard as he helped you grind harder and faster on his dick. Your moaning picked up as the tears fell down your red cheeks. Javi slapped your ass making you jump.
“Cum with me baby. Fucking cum.” You cried out as your body started to shake. Your mouth was open with no sound coming out. You both paused your movements before you both moaned and groaned together. Your bodies started to shake uncontrollably. Javi groaned loud and deep in your neck as you wrapped your arms around his neck to bring him closer.
“Oh shit, mmmm fuck.” You moaned out, Javi panted in your neck as his hands rubbed your back.
“Shit.” Javi muttered out. Your legs felt like jello as you stayed wrapped in his arms with his cock still in you. You kissed Javi’s temple as you ran your fingers through his hair to calm him down. You’re bodies all sticky and hot. Javi then pulled out of you making you whine at the loss of contact and making Javi whimper at the coolness hitting him. He jolted as he calmed his breathing down. He reached over to grab his pack of cigarettes before lighting one up. He laid down with you on his chest. You sighed as you stared up at him, admiring his bare chest and him smoking. You both laid there in silence. You rested your head on his chest as you relaxed at the sound of his heartbeat.
“Javi?”
“What’s wrong cariño?” His voice rumbled through his chest making it vibrate. You looked up at him to see him staring back at you. It only made you smile.
“Nothing. Just… does this mean something?” Javi exhaled a fog of smoke as he gave you a smile
“What do you think mi amor?”
“I’m assuming maybe?” You teased making him roll his eyes at you before chuckling. You chuckled back as you sat up to be closer to him. You took the cigarette from his hand as you inhaled, you stared into his eyes as you exhaled. Javi hummed as he cupped your face. You finished the cigarette before placing it on the ashtray.
“You are something, you know that?” You shrugged at him as you played with his hair,
“I’ve been told.” Javi smiled at you before pulling your face closer to his as you both shared a loving, long kiss. You sighed as you wrapped your arms around his neck, him wrapping his around your back. You both continued the kiss as you snuggled into his warm embrace. Slowly falling asleep in each other’s touch.

"We did it, but others told us to."
We thought it would be fun. Wars were always a civilized business after all. It was supposed to be grand, sweeping, and romantic. Two armies would clash, there would be lots of daring do, and once this grand conflict was over that was that. You didn't hold a grudge. It was a relief from the boredom of jobs at home. You got done, shook hands, picked up the dead, and that was that. We didn't have a quarrel with the other male, this was between our bosses, see? It's the way of things. We challenge a dominant power to see who is better.
We were just following orders.
We took their Jupiter bases and wondered what all the hubbub was about further inward. Something about the targets we hit. I didn't understand. Sure the bases didn't have any weapons, but this was war. We were doing our jobs.
They opened up on us at the asteroid belt, with hundred megawatt transportation lasers and mass drivers. We didn't expect that. This was supposed to be civilized! They made us fight our way through the belt, forcing us to lose ten fighters for every kilometer of space. They were using civilian equipment against us! Those lasers were for high speed transportation, those mass drivers for cargo delivery! Why did they not use proper warships? We were just doing our jobs.
The Martian colony, here we thought would be the great decisive battle. They threw dozens of ships against us. They used their megawatt lasers and mass drivers. Their reaction drives burned out anything that got close. They screamed their hate at us and we didn't understand. We were just doing our jobs.
We dropped bombs on their colonies, we seized their stations. We took them fair and square. But they were savage. Our troops landed and they were gunned down by heavy machine guns. Machine guns designed hundreds of years ago! And their designs had stayed the same. Their rifles and tanks were certainly different, but that machine gun, that Browning, had stayed the same. And they screamed at us. They called in close air support, they planted mines, they did everything they could to bleed us dry. We destroyed what the officers said to. We blew up domes. We destroyed train lines. Even those that had nothing to do with the war effort. So what? What's that got to do with us? We did it, but others ordered us to. And isn't it our right as conquerers? We were just doing our jobs.
Their anger only grew worse. As we moved, they continued to throw everything they had at us. Soldiers sacrificed themselves so their fellows could retreat in good order. They did those kamikaze runs they are so proud of. And the prisoners were angry. We gave them supplies, and still they cursed us. We tried to be nice, to compliment them on their skills, and they were silent. They called it "interrogation". We called it friendly chats.
"Why do you force us to destroy so much expensive material? Damage to private property is very uncouth, you know! It's very expensive!"
"You bombed civilian targets!" The fighter pilot snapped at us, "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Your people use private machinery rather than weapons to fight us! Well you do both, but that's beside the point!"
"We didn't hide troops in civilian domes!" The pilot shouted.
"That was what we were ordered to do. It was not my doing. The commanders simply felt a show of force was necessary."
"Necessary?! You son of a--!" We had to restrain her then.
"What inspires this loyalty?" I demanded, "You fight as though more depends on you than your life! What demands such high sacrifices?"
"If it means beating baby killers!" She snarled, her head pinned by one of my soldiers. She managed to move it, "We'll throw everything we've got at you! Someday we'll defeat you! And then you'll see who's laughing!"
I was flummoxed. "Why do you do this? Why do you fight so hard? You're only doing your job!"
She seemed confused by that. "Of course I am!"
I knelt down to where three of my soldiers held her, "Yes! So why fight so hard? Why do you defy us like this? Why do you make us kill and destroy private property?"
She seemed baffled. "What do you mean? I fight because I'm part of the UN Defense Force! Why else?"
"But you don't need to fight this hard. We fight, one of us loses, we shake hands! That's war!"
She looked befuddled, "The fuck is wrong with you, *bug*? What kinda war is that? Sounds like a slapfight!"
I tried to dumb it down for her. "You plant mines. You set traps. You crash your ships into ours. What kind of war is that? What inspires this loyalty, this desire to sacrifice so much? You are but an employee of your masters. They demand no less than you doing your job, and no more. You do not need to go beyond!"
She confusedly said, "Because that's war, idiot."
By the time we reached the lunar perimeter, our force was battered beyond belief. Forces were still fighting over Mars, and the Mercury and Venus attacks had been blunted. We finally encountered their war fleet. Many of the ships were barely finished. They had been pulled out of the dock yards still with workers aboard. Why was that? Our leader hailed their fleet admiral. He congratulated them for their clever tactics and admonished them for their unsavory techniques. He gave them a list of booty to recover, requested a refuel, and gave them a time frame for when we would be on our way. The war was over, we'd made it to their homeworld. This is how the great competitive wars are always done. Something about this confused the Admiral. "This isn't a game!" They spat. "War isn't defending dots on a map! It's death! Vast organized death! Are you telling me you came all this way for FUN?!"
"No, we came here to see who is better."
"That's the same thing."
"No it isn't." Our leader said dismissively. He paused, "Tell me, what inspires this loyalty in you? Aren't you just doing your jobs?"
"What?"
"You're just following orders. So are we. What inspires this unthinking, undying loyalty? You're just following orders, as all civilized beings should. We are just following orders." The comm line went dead. The humans unleashed a terrible display of firepower. They learned a long time ago that loyalty is not simple deference. And that war is more than just orders, it is not romantic.
War is not a game to them.

“ it’s midnight where the hell were you?” With jamie please?
Tumblr media
When Jamie woke up he reached over to the other-side of the bed to pull you close but when he felt nothing he groaned, just assuming you got up to use the bathroom but when he waited and you didn't come back he sat up in bed.
“Y/n?” He called out but he was met with no response
He got out of bed and went to the bathroom, he swung open the door, the bathroom was empty. His mind started to race but Jamie was trying to be Rational so he went to check the kitchen but once again it was empty.
He realized you were gone
Now he was really starting to panic. He ran back to the bedroom and grabbed his phone. The time read 12:09. Where the fuck would you go at midnight alone even. He tried to call you as he frantically searched the apartment, even the closet . Why would you be in the closet? He doesn't know but he was desperate.
“Hey you’ve reached Y/N im unable to get to the phone right now so just leave a message at the beep”
Fuck Jamie kept trying and trying as he ran into Trevors room shaking him awake
“Trev get up!” He yelled
“Aww Did Jambo have a bad dream” Trevor joked still 50% asleep “Let me kiss you better” as he reached for his cheeks
“Trevor I cant find Y/N” Jamie Frantically yelled
“What?” Trevor respond slowly starting to wake up
“Y/N IS MISSING!” Jamie's voice was surely loud enough to get it threw trevors thick head
Trevor Started to understand the gravity of the situation as he saw Jamie burst out of his room And back into the kitchen and Trevor quickly followed
“What do you mean she's missing?” Trevor asked
“She wasn't here when I woke up and she's gone” Jamie was running his hands threw his hair and pacing around the Apartment living room
“Did you guys get into a fight?” Trevor asked
‘NO no we didn't………FUCK I just keep getting her voice mail” jamie was full on panicking at this point
“Dude take a deep breath, panicking isn't going to help anyone ok?” Trevor tried to help but it was no use
“How can I take a deep breath right now Trevor because right now It looks like Y/N left me”
‘Dude she didn't leave you” trevor put a on Jamie's shoulder trying to ground him “Let's go down to Parking garage and see if her car is still here ok”
“Ok” jamie responded
Before they could even move the Apartment door opened, the two boys made eye-contact with you
“What are you guys doing up” you asked “it's like midnight” you placed a bag on the Island counter
“What are we doing up Its midnight where the hell were you” Jamie Shouted
You jumped a little at Jamie's voice and tone. You didn't know what was wrong.
“What happen you asked” you Assumed something happened because Trevor and Jamie were both up in the middle of the night looking frantic
“What happened?” Jamie yelled again “what happened was I woke up to an empty bed and you were gone, you left in the middle of the damn night! Do you know how worried I was”
“How worried we were” Trevor Corrected “Where did you even go?”
“I went to the gas station and picked up some advil because we ran out and I had a bad headache” You whispered pulling it out of the bag
“You could have woken me up I would have gone with you” Jamie Sighed
“You had a Tiring day I thought you needed rest” You tried to explain
“Then wake Trevor up next time” Jamie Suggested
“I totally be down to go with you next time” Trevor said as he patted Jamie on the back realizing he wasn’t needed in this conversation and said “i'm going to go back to bed if that's okay with you guys”
“Yea sure Goodnight man” Jamie waved off
“ Goodnight trev ” You said
Leaving just you and Jamie he walked over to you
“I know i know  I'm sorry I should have told you” You said  fiddling with your fingers
“ do you have any idea how worried I was” he said pulling you into a hug by the waist “ I thought you left me”
“Aww Jamie I would never leave you” You comforted placing our hands on his cheeks
“Why didn't you pick up your phone I called you like a million times” he asked
“At 9pm it going on silent” you answered
“As of today you turn that off” He told you
“OK again i'm sorry I feel really bad” you said looking up at him
“You can make it up by Sleeping in with me tomorrow” he laughed as you walked back to your shared bedroom
“Punishment fits the crime Drysdale”
All night Jamie didn't let go of you once

Day 19: motel
Tumblr media
Masterlist flufftober 🎀
Reblog if you liked it!
“There was an accident because of the storm, the road is closed,” Spencer informed you, from the driver's window, shortly before getting back into the car.
You had been delayed leaving the station about the rest of the team and, to your bad luck, the traffic caused by the winter storm in Minnesota hadn’t even allowed you to go to the runway where the jet was.
"And what are we going to do?"
“Well, we can't go another way and if we go back to the city there is a high probability that we will also suffer a car accident.”
“I saw a motel on the way here,” you exclaimed with resignation. “We can stay there and see if there is a landline, because my phone is on the fritz and Hotch isn't answering me.”
Spencer agreed with your idea and pulled the lever to take off, turning back the way you had come. Watching him drive was one of your favorite things, because you knew that he only did it when you were the one in the passenger seat and he looked very cute with that concentrated expression on his face.
“The cold is getting into my bones, at least I hope they have heating”
“Would you rather be here or in Miami?”
“You know I hate the beach, it offends me that you're even asking that,” he laughed, as you watched him wrinkle his nose in that slight way he did when he talked to you. You didn't even know if he was aware of the gesture, but you adored it.
You turned on the radio to fill the silence and on the way to the motel you tried, without success, to communicate with the rest of the team to find out if they had also gotten stuck in traffic or if they had managed to get through it. Apparently you weren’t the only ones who thought of staying there after the hopeless panorama on the road, so when you arrived at the reception the woman informed you that there were no normal rooms available.
“We only have the special room, it costs eighty dollars a night”
"Eighty dollars?" you asked scandalized. For a motel, from your point of view, it was overpriced.
“It has a jacuzzi, a mini refrigerator, and a couch for couples,” the woman explained to you, without much interest in the decision you made, while you opened your eyes widely.
“Did you hear that? A couch for couples” you said to your friend with fake enthusiasm, who was holding both luggage bags with one hand, seeing him later shake his head at your behavior. You were like a pair of siblings and that meant being ashamed of each other on more than one occasion.
“Just give us the room,” he extended his debit card to the woman and after collecting, she gave you a key, half-telling you where you should go to find the supposedly special room.
“Oh, and do you have a phone we can use?”
When you contacted your boss you realized that they had also been trying to call you and that, as you had imagined, they had managed to get to the jet. They agreed that they would stay somewhere else until you could join them and the next morning, when the storm was over, you would all fly back.
After that you followed the man down the hallway and when you entered the room you realized that she hadn’t lied about the furniture, that it amused you in a completely immature way. Spencer warned you not to even think about touching that couch because it would contain, at the very least, millions of germs and unknown fluids that you didn't want to expose yourself to.
“You won't let me use the jacuzzi either?” you laughed, pouting after speaking. You didn't even feel like diving in, you just wanted to bother your friend a little by forcing him to tell you about all the hygiene problems that accommodation places like that had.
“In fact no, I highly recommend not using it. According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 208 disease outbreaks associated with treated recreational water have been confirmed in recent years, primarily from swimming pools, hot tubs, and public water parks. These outbreaks resulted in 3,646 cases of illness, 286 hospitalizations, and 13 deaths, but health experts suspect the true numbers are even higher, since many illnesses are never reported.
“I have a strong immune system,” you said without giving it much importance, while you opened your suitcase to start taking out a change of clothes. Although you were not going to use the jacuzzi if you wanted to take a good bath and you only hoped that there was hot water to save you from the tremendous cold that was outside.
“I don't think so, actually. Cryptosporidium is a parasite, living in fecal matter, that can cause gastrointestinal illnesses, including diarrhea. And they can be transmitted by an infected person who uses, oh surprise! a jacuzzi”
“But you're paranoid, how much chance is there that a person infected with that crypto-whatever stayed in this specific room and used the jacuzzi?”
You probably shouldn't have asked that, because if you had asked it ironically, he took it seriously. Spencer started ranting about statistics that you couldn't even imagine how he knew while you continued getting your things ready to get in the shower.
When you walked to the bathroom your friend followed you and when you crossed the door you were scared to think that he would do it too, however, he stopped at the door frame and leaned against it.
“Do you know that there is another disease that is quite common in hot tubs? It is Legionnaires' disease, caused by Legionella pneumophila. It is not so risky in people our age, but…”
“Reid,” you interrupted him, putting a hand on his arm so he could pay attention to you. “I have to take a shower, what if you keep telling me when I get out?”
“Are you going to shower? That shower is probably disgusting!”
“And I am too, in case you haven't noticed.”
“You don't even wear flip flops, you're going to get athlete's foot.”
“I swear you're insufferable,” you whined, pointing a finger at him. He knew you weren't serious, but he still decided to get revenge for what you had just told him.
"Oh yeah? Now you will have to shower while listening to all the statistics of deaths from diseases transmitted in motel spaces”
You closed the bathroom door, laughing, but that did nothing to muffle the sound of your friend's voice, which seemed to recite data as if it were a recorder. At one point you tried to sing to cover the sound, but even that wasn't enough and that's when you let out a snort loud enough for him to hear.
"I hate you!"
“You know you don’t!”
And well, he was right. But you weren't going to tell him.

————————
THE TRAIN TO Hogwarts screeched against the rusty rails, bumping along the coast. I looked outside the window, staring down below. The waves crashed into the pillars that were holding the railway up, and I almost shook with discomfort at the thought of it breaking.
I felt someone's arm link through mine, gently resting their head on my shoulder. Looking down, I noticed it was Ginny. Her ginger curls were swept back into a ponytail, but her hair tickled me nonetheless.
"I can't wait to start our first year," she said.
Hermione hummed in agreement as she studied me somewhat intensely. She could read people like the back of her hand - it was something that always both annoyed and comforted me. I knew that she would always be there for me, but I could also never hide anything from her.
"How about you?” asked Hermione to which Ginny lifted her head to look at me.
I shrugged and looked to the side.
Harry and Ron had fallen asleep ages ago. Ron's snores merged with the various other noises inside the train, and it had long became background noise. Harry's glasses were askew on his head - Ginny adjusted them before looking back at me to hear my response.
"Nervous, honestly," I said plainly.
I didn't want to tell them just how anxious I was about starting college. About how I was scared because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life - how I felt like I was miles behind all of my friends. How I didn't feel like I belonged.
Hermione was smart and kind - she had ambition and was the most empathetic person I knew. Ginny was brave, beautiful and she knew she wanted to pursue Quidditch professionally since she was 14. Harry and Ron wanted to be Aurors, and Fred and Weasley had opened their joke shop since before we even graduated.
Me? I didn't even know who I really was. Sure, I knew I was a Slytherin - and that I was pretty good at potions. Besides that I had no clue about where I wanted to be in life.
I didn't even feel like I fit in with my own friends, let alone a whole college full of people with ambitions and goals. With real, true goals.
Hermione always reassured me that I was still young and I had ages ahead of me to figure it all out. Yet when everybody around you is already at the stage of growing up and moving on, its hard to believe that.
I knew I was only 18 but that fact provided little comfort to me.
"Ron, Harry. Get up!" shouted Hermione as she pulled on her robes in the unstable carriage. We had arrived outside of Hogsmeade station, the yellow lights of the street lamps illuminating the black abyss of the water before us.
We all walked onto the platform, Harry yawning as he tried to press his unruly hair flat down. He always had messy hair. It grew impossibly fast even when he cut it. At some point he gave up and just let it grow; which led us to now, as his hair almost reached his shoulders. Ron had followed in his footsteps, letting his mane grow out, too. Their matching shoulder-length curls was just one of many things that they shared in common.
A giant of a man trodded his way forwards, introducing himself as Rubeus Hagrid, Groundskeeper of Hogwarts. His long beard was frizzy, long, and dark - but not as long as the hair on his head. He could give Harry a run for his money.
Self-rowing boats made their way towards us, the darkness of the lake being broken every once in a while by the ripples of the oars.
"Four to a boat! Move on, move on," said Hagrid.
All five of us looked at each other before glancing at the boat. I honestly didn't mind being alone, so I wrapped my robe around my shoulders before nodding at my friends. Ron asked if I was sure, offering to give me his seat.
"It's okay. I'll see you guys inside."
I walked a little further to where an almost full boat floated in the water. Three boys sat inside, arguing about seemingly nothing. I heard a few names like Blaise and Pansy, whom I remembered being in my class in secondary school. They were fellow Slytherins.
Their conversation suddenly halted, and I felt their eyes on me as I neared them.
"Sorry to interrupt - but can I sit here?"
I saw one of them shift to the side a bit more, making space for me. He looked slightly familiar, but I figured he must have just been someone I passed in the hallways in our old school.
"Sure, hop on," he said.
I climbed into the wooden vehicle, jolting forwards as it began to move. A hand came to grip my wrist, gently pulling me back so I didn't tumble into the water. I pulled my hand away as I sat down, my eyes meeting his.
The moonlight shone beautifully against his skin. I vaguely felt like I knew him, but I wasn't quite sure of his name. Maybe it was Matthew, or Matthias - or was it just Matt?
"Thanks," I said. His eyes were almost as dark as the night sky, his features sharp but gentle. With the little amount of his face that I could make out in the pitch black of the night, I came to the conclusion that he was attractive. Realizing that we were just staring at each other, I looked away from him quickly, opting to stare at the castle that we were rapidly approaching.
"So..." came the same voice from beside me. "I'm Enzo."
Lorenzo Berkshire. Of course.
My breathing halted for a moment. I knew I recognized him. Our parents had been friends for as long as I can remember. Up until our 3rd year of secondary school we had been best friends - that is, before our parents had gotten into a huge fight and we drifted apart.
His parents had gotten caught up in the war - becoming Death Eaters in order to protect their son. My parents were having none of it. I was advised to never speak to him again; something about how he would 'become just like his parents'.
But Voldemort was dead - and so were Enzo's parents, along with half of the Slytherin population's families too. The past was in the past. There was no use in dwelling on it.
"Ah. Berkshire, right?" I asked. His eyes shot up in surprise.
"You know me?"
I laughed lightly as I looked towards him. Maybe I had changed a lot since we last spoke - it made sense that he didn't realize who I was. I barely recognized him either. We hadn't spoken in almost 4 years.
"You don't remember me? Sunt ofensat!"
The other two boys had an intrigued look on their face as they watched me and Enzo's interaction.
Enzo's already wide eyes lit up at my words. We always spoke Romanian to each other - we called it our secret language. Even though it's a common language, most of the wizarding world in England were not foreigners.
"Oh my God! Y/N?"
I smiled as I noticed the recognition in his eyes.
Our families were one of the only well-know Romanian families in the wizarding world, so it was no surprise that we had grown close when we were young. I felt bad that we couldn't spend more time together during our last years of school. Those were hard times - especially for him. I only wish I could've been there to help.
During the war I remember that I had ran to find him. He betrayed his parents to fight alongside us, against the Death Eaters - I was afraid he'd been killed. It was a tough time for everyone, but I could never forget the look on his face that day.
However, I didn't want to think about that right now.
His arms came to encase themselves around me. I forgot just how affectionate of a person he was. My arms came to rest under his, hugging his torso tightly as my chin landed on his shoulder.
"Okay. What the fuck?" said one of the other boys.
Enzo pulled away from me, smiling.
"Remember my childhood best friend I told you about? This is her," he beamed.
I put my hand out for them to shake. They introduced themselves and Theodore Nott and Mattheo Riddle. My heart slightly stuttered at the sound of his surname, the memories of what his father did swirling in my mind.
I wondered how Dumbledore ever accepted him here, but I tried to push the thought out of my head. No use in overthinking it right now. If I never judged Enzo for his family, I figured I should give Mattheo the same chance to prove himself.
And anyway, if someone as kind as Enzo was friends with him, how bad could he be? Sure I hadn't talked to him in years but I would always harbor trust for the boy. We had been through thick and thin together. You could even say we had even been through hell, literally.
"I didn't know you talked about me," I joked, nudging Enzo's shoulder.
He grew flustered as he tried to dig himself out of the hole. Mattheo had an amused look on his face as he smirked at Enzo's nervous attempts at covering up his words.
He looked over at me, the devilish smile still plastered on his face.
My eyes trailed along his cheekbones and jawline, eventually resting to stare at his plump lips. For someone whose father was the most evil wizard of all time; he sure was hot - and also surprisingly nice, I came to find out.
Apparently after Enzo and I had stopped being friends, Mattheo and Theo took him under their wing. They included him in their friend group, inviting him out to parties. That was nice to hear - he was quite antisocial when we were younger. He seemed better now.
We had already arrived at the castle when Mattheo's eyes finally dropped from mine. His gaze seemed to find mine during every conversation, whether he was speaking or not. The dark brown orbs seemed to stare at me intensely, no matter what I was doing. I could feel them on me even when I wasn't looking, and when I was, he never shifted his gaze.
It felt like a contest of who would look away last - and I won.
"Alright I should go meet my friends for the sorting ceremony," I said as I clambered out of the boat, "thanks for letting me sit with you guys."
Theo raised an eyebrow at me.
"What, your Gryffindor buddies didn't want to be seen with a snake?"
I rolled my eyes at him, giving him a sarcastic laugh. Of course he would have a weird sense of patriotism for his house. The Nott family was the type. Not that it was bad to be proud of where you were placed - I just never understood where all the hostility came from.
Stealing a glance at Enzo, I gave him a look. He only shook his head as if to say 'I'm sorry'. Rolling my eyes at Theo, I turned my back on him.
"Funny."
And with that, I was on my way, sprinting quickly to Harry and Ginny who were waiting for me by the shore.

Everything felt relatively normal...for one month. You tried to avoid Ghost to the best of your capabilities, considering that he ( allegedly ) lived on the floor above yours. Awkward lift rides occurred but weren't so frequent.
After spending three weeks in your new home, you were called back. The task wasn’t hard at all, just to pose as a sniper while a small team of rookies conducted a RIF on a Konni base, which apparently held some important cargo that soon was going to be on the move. Your duty was to back up the team in case things got hairy and to observe the strength, deployment, preparedness, determination, and other tactical data of the target for a future raid.
You packed up only the necessary, as it was a short affair, and once you were ready to leave, you double checked all the entries on the flat, to make sure it was all locked. Once in the hallway you pressed the down button in the lift, and you weren't surprised at all when you saw Ghost going down as well, you just sigh to yourself, standing next to him as the door closed behind you. Does this man live in this lift?
"Going somewhere?" He asked, checking you from the corner of his eyes.
"With some friends for the weekend" You answered nonchalantly, looking up as the lift went down. Just one more floor.
"I see," He answered, leaving it there. The door opened and you basically sprinted your way out of the building.
After taking a nap both on the transfer and the plane to the safe house close to the target, you were all equipped and ready to go. Your face mask leaving only your eyes uncovered, your hair in a bun, your dark blue uniform on and the case where you kept your sniper rifle hanging from your back. Your station chief gave the team their assignments before leaving. The scouting team had weapons free order, while you were given weapons hold order, only engage when engaged.
The recce team were in motorcycles, the idea was doing a hit and run, and see what the Konni soldiers used to fight back, and how many were visible. You were dropped midway by them, and you walked to your position. The warehouse was surrounded by fields, some wind turbines could be seen in the distance, and you made your way to an abandoned watchtower that was the perfect sniper nest.
"Sage to Control. I'm in position, I have visual." You said as you settled down on your stomach on the floor of the dome of the top of the tower.
"Copy, Sage. Control to Delta team. Delta, you're clear to engage." The voice on your comm answered.
After the order was given, you could see through your scope three motorcycles from the Delta team, each one with two people on them, one driving and the other shooting, quickly approaching the place.
"Delta-1 to Control. Control, we have contact." The voice came through the comm followed by the sound of shooting, and you could see through the scope the whole scene.
"Control to Sage. What do you see?"
"Six armed personnel. Automatic weapons...they don't seem very prepared." You said as you zoomed in on the scope, and you could tell everyone there was caught by surprise, unorganized men rushing to shoot back, no heavy weaponry in sight. They sure are disorganized for people guarding an important cargo.
After a few more minutes of combat, two hurt Konni soldiers, and with no changes in the defences, the team was called back to retreat.
"Control, how reliable was the intel? These poor bastards couldn't even defend themselves against an angry dog" You said as you kept looking at the warehouse, everyone looked as if they were angrily talking to each other, clearly still on edge.
"It was a tip, reliable source so we thought it was worth a check. I'll tell Delta to pick you up on their way back”.
"Thank you very much" You said as you stood up to start disassembling your rifle, carefully putting it back to its case, and hanging it in your back.
As you came out from the tower, you were greeted by a very heavy and unexpected hit on the face and when you felt something warm and salty in your mouth, mixed with the sharp pain that made your head hurt and left you stunned, you were pretty sure it broke your nose. Your mask was starting to get wet with blood, as you fell on your back on the floor, and when you focused your sight you saw a big figure towering over you, with a knife. You quickly kicked it on the stomach, a deep grunt was heard, and they answered with a cut on your leg that made you hiss in pain, but you used the same leg to kick their arm, throwing the knife across the room, hitting one of the walls. The figure was already charging at you again when a shot impacted on the wall of the tower, prompting the figure to quickly flee to the woods.
"Motherfucker...fucking shit, fuck" You took off your mask, whimpering at the pain. You spit a mix of saliva and blood to the floor, as you tried to clean your mouth with the back of your hand, which made you wince in pain as you accidentally brushed your nose.
"Jesus Christ, Sage, what the hell was that?" The man that you only recognized as Delta-1 approached you quickly, lowering his gun, looking down at you at the floor.
"Do I look like I fucking know?" You shot back, glaring up at him. This was not the first time you got punched in the nose, however it was the only time where you got it broken, and the pain was making you dizzy.
"They left their knife," Delta-2 said, picking up the stray knife from the floor close to the wall. Nothing remarkable about it, just an average hunting knife.
"Come here, mate" Delta-1 said, letting his gun go from his hands and hang behind him, as he crouched over and carefully helped you up from the floor. Your head was killing you, and the cut on your leg wasn't as terrible but you felt it with each step.
Two days later, you were dropped in the corner of your building. Gauze wrapped around your nose, and some packing stuffed inside it to provide support while it heals. If you thought a broken nose was bad, it was because you haven't heard about the recovery of a broken nose. You felt like it was constantly stuffy and you couldn't do anything about it, your head hurt very often, and you could only breathe through your mouth, making it dry and your lips constantly chapped. Additionally, you were given a three-week medical leave, with no strenuous activities or heavy lifting, and some purple was starting to show under your eyes. You entered the building, bag in your back, and you lazily walked to the lift. As you were waiting, you heard heavy footsteps behind you. Jesus Christ, have I not suffered enough?
“Morning" You heard that husky voice you were familiar with behind you.
"Hey" You answered back, doing very little to hide the contempt in your voice. And as the lift opened its doors, you entered, followed by Ghost.
There were some minutes of silence, which made you believe that he wasn't going to try to be a smartass, but then...
"What happened to your nose?" He suddenly said, looking down at you.
"Rhinoplasty" You answered flatly, shrugging.
"It looks the same to me" He answered in a matter-of-factly tone.
"That's because the swelling needs to go down" You answer in the same tone.
"You're limping" He poked again, still looking down at you.
"Got fucked." You answered once again, nonchalantly, and if you were looking you could see him arching a brow under his mask at the blunt answer.
"With a broken nose?"
"Don't tell my doctor" You said as you reached your floor, exiting the lift.
Once inside your flat you locked the door behind you before laying on your couch and basically passing out on it, without even bothering to change your clothes. You already knew that Ghost knew. If he didn't know who you were exactly already, he for sure was close to it after today.
For now, you just hoped he would spare you for the night, as you slowly started to drift asleep on your couch.
You don't know how much time has passed before loud knocks at your door woke you up. You grunted as you got up from the couch, and you went to your desk and looked in the drawer for your handgun...you were surprised to see that it wasn’t there. Someone was here.  You were so tired that you didn't even check.
Your body tensed, as you went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, the second-best option. You held the knife on your back, slowly opening the door.
Bucket hat = Price
You froze as you stared up at him, and when you lowered your gaze you noticed how he was carrying your gun.
"Think very well about your next actions, kid" He warned you, taking the safety off your gun. Why does everyone in that damned unit have the same husky voices?
You were a fighter, but you weren't stupid. So, you moved the hand off your back, and handed him the knife.
"Atta girl" He said as he stepped back, making a gesture with his head indicating you to step out of your flat. "Let's go for a walk.”
The next hour or so was kind of confusing. He got you into a car, putting a bag over your head, making you flinch when it touched your nose. Then, at some point in the ride, you felt a sharp pain on your neck, then everything went dark, as you heard a distant female voice talking.
When you felt yourself slowly regaining consciousness and getting back to your senses, you blinked a few times, trying to clear your blurry vision. You looked around a bare grey room, a table in front of you, a blinding light hanging over it and Price sitting across it. Behind him, a blonde woman standing against the wall, looking at you as well. You tried to move, but both your feet and hands were tied up.
"Easy, girl. Try to focus" You blinked a few more times, taking a few deep breaths, your mouth felt dry. "You are slippery and hard to find, I give you that" He added, as you tried to concentrate on him.
"Where am I?" You managed to mutter, but your words came out a bit slurred.
"Don't worry 'bout that for now..." He answered before he started. "I can't begin to explain the pain in my ass you've been these months. The higher commands have been chewing my ear off bitching about how we spent taxpayers’ money to purchase the intel from some contracting company that magically got to it first. It could have been a coincidence, yes. One time? Sure. Two times? Maybe. But seventeen fucking operations frustrated in the span of 8 months? Someone was on us."
You started to be able to see his image more clearly and the haze you were in started to wear off. You were in an interrogation room...and the camera was off. Off the records, bad sign.
"So, we started to look back, every detail, every camera, every mistake we made, anything we could find. A shadow in the middle of the smoke in shitty quality footage of some warehouse, which led us to multiple street cameras, until we saw the same figure getting in an unregistered car. The unregistered car led us to some tax haven in God knows which island, and then back to our old friends from KorTac, but your profile didn't match anyone we knew from there before...but we got a solid lead a couple of months ago and we went with it. And three days ago, we managed to confirm it by pulling some contacts, and dropping some fake tips...I'm sorry about your nose by the way, my hand slipped, and I punched harder than I was expecting to."
“Son of a bitch..." You muttered under your breath.
"When Captain Price showed me the footage, I ran your face through facial recognition..." The blonde woman that has been silent since you woke up suddenly said, before handling Price a tablet. You were sure it was the voice you heard on the car as you blacked out. "...and imagine my surprise when I saw that on our database."
You turned your attention back at Price in front of you as he showed you the screen of the device. You saw a much younger picture of yourself, when you first enlisted, and then the word "Corporal" followed by your full name.
"I spoke to your old sergeant, and he said amazing things about you. He was happy to hear about you again. He remarked on your exceptional performance and leadership abilities. And of course, he started boasting about your good records in basic and advanced individual training, and he said how excited he was for you to take the test and pass the SAS selection, and how he was even planning to write you a recommendation letter..."
You lowered your gaze; you already knew this story.
"And how shocked he was when he learnt you put your 28 days’ notice after two months of signing your contract." He then swiped his finger, showing the scan of your formal letter of resignation, to which you looked away. I already saw that bloody paper before . “Is that when you joined KorTac?"
"I wanted more liberties, not being tied up for four years" You said in an attempt to put on a nonchalant tone.
"Are you sure that’s the reason?" The woman said from behind Price, to which he turned around, and the woman nodded at him.
He then swiped again on his tablet, revealing a photo of your parents. You felt how your whole body went stiff, as you felt yourself immediately getting sick, bile threatening to go all the way up to your throat.
"Cunts" You manage after some minutes, trying to desperately free your hands from the handcuffs to the chair, the sound of metal clicks echoing through the silent room. "Leave them out of this.”
"We are not planning to hurt them." The woman spoke again, but it did little to calm down your growing anxiety. "We were worried that since you're officially MIA in KorTac's records, that they would try to...tie other loose ends" She said as she swiped through more pictures of your parents and judging by the looks of it, they have been under surveillance for weeks.
You felt nauseous, you haven’t even thought about that. Once you joined, you tried to leave all your old friendships back home, and keep the contact to your parents at minimum, since you couldn't just cut them off completely. It was easy to blame not having signal while on the move.
"They're actually very nice people but imagine my surprise when I was informed that they think you're still in the army" You started to feel like you were about to have a panic attack. All your lies catching up to you at once.
"I...W-We needed the money..." You answered after a few minutes of struggling to the strength to talk, your voice still came out strained.
“And…?” The woman said, and by the look in her eyes, you could tell she already knew the answer.
“KorTac had someone in the army, they would contact the recruits with the best performances to work for them. They showed me what they could pay me, if I joined…my parents are not young anymore, and they need money for the mortgage, bills, healthcare…I just wanted them to have a good life…I wanted to have a good life.”
"There you go, kid. Doesn't it feel nice to say the truth for once?" Price said, putting the tablet on the table and returning his attention to you. "The boys are with them right now, playing along with your lies...for now. They're going to move them to a safe house, until we can find another place for them to settle."
"Why...?" You looked between both Price and the woman. Why protect them? What's the trick?
"Your parents are not to blame for the things you've done. Legally, you should be prosecuted for high treason, and you'd get at least 7 years. And how do you think your parents react when we tell them their daughter, who they thought was serving in the army, is in prison?" Low blow. You just stared up at him, clenching your jaw. "However, Kate and I discussed your situation before bringing you here..."
“You have potential, kid" She said from behind him, still leaning against the wall.
"What is this? Some kind of intervention?" You said looking between them, anxious and confused in equal measure.
"We can always just send you to prison, if you don't want to hear us" He said, crossing his arms, and you just leaned back to your seat, staying quiet and listening, your body still tense. "That's what I thought."
"We could use a person of your abilities...and your experience." Kate said again, still glancing over you.
I'm fucked, I'm so fucked, so, so, so...
"What's the catch?" You asked, still looking at them.
"Instead of spending time in prison, like you should, you'd serve in the army again" Price started explaining again. "You'd get an ankle monitor, you can't leave the base unless someone from the team is with you or for deployment, you'd serve for 5 years, and you would be demoted, from your fancy sergeant title in KorTac back to corporal."
"So like parole?"
"Sort of" Kate answered.
"And if you break any of the terms of the agreement, you'd go straight to jail, no third chance" Price added. Both were just staring at you.
"Truth be told, you know too much. You're a liability for them and for us, however we could be more...understanding. Can you say the same about your friends back at KorTac?" Kate added, making you lower your gaze, contemplating her words.
Your leg was shaking under the table, and you bit your lip, still looking down. Your life's work goes down the drain, but at the same time you were getting a second chance, besides going back to the army would mean you'd stop lying to your parents. This is the worst day of my life.
"Would I still get paid?" You asked looking up, meeting their gazes again. The question made Price sigh.
"Yes, you would. But while on duty, your accounts will be controlled by your commanding officer, and any purchases or transfers must be authorized by him" Kate explained, making a gesture with her head pointing at Price.
You stayed quiet for a few minutes, contemplating. Not that you had many options, jail or the army. But you still stopped to try and put yourself together to meditate and try to get a thought out of the mess your head was.
"Can I talk to my parents?" You asked in a small voice, looking nervously between the both of them. Price looked back at Laswell, and she nodded.
You felt your heart beating in your ears, your hands shaking and your palms sweating. You haven't spoken to them in months with the excuse of being in deployment, it always made you nervous. They were proud of you when you joined, praising you for following your dreams. It broke your heart a little to see the glint of sadness when you explained how you couldn’t frequently talk to them, but they still supported you.
So lost in your thoughts you didn't even hear what Price said before he put the phone on speaker.
"Darling...?" You heard your mother on the other side of the phone.
You felt some tears forming in your arms, as a smile appeared in your face, your demeanour visibly softening.
"Hi, mom" You answered as clearly as you could with the knot on your throat, trying not to worry her.
"Hey, love, I'm so glad to hear you. How are you?" She said, her voice sounding worried but slightly relieved to hear you. "Is everything alright? When we saw three soldiers on the door, we thought the worst.”
The lump on your throat felt tighter, and you bit your lip trying to control yourself at the thought of your parents thinking that you were dead at first.
"Yeah, everything is alright, mom. Those are my...colleagues" You explained while looking at Price.
"They told us they're going to move us, that we should leave the house for a few months, that they will pay for a new place for a bit. What's wrong? Are you in trouble?"
Ah, mom, I'm in deep shit.
"It's for security. We just got back from deployment, and we bumped into some...dangerous people, I told them it wasn't necessary but they insisted on relocating you for a bit, everything is going to be alright, just do as they say, everything will be fine, it's just for prevention...army things as you always say" You said with a soft smile, looking at the phone. "Maybe they could even get you a place with a heater that actually works."
That made your mom chuckle, and her tone audibly was more relaxed, and it made you chuckle too, which prompted some tears to fall down your cheeks.
"Well, you're not wrong, maybe a change of air would be nice..." She added. "Did you get hurt?"
"Just a broken nose, that's why I didn't go there, had to stay for a check-up, but I'll be fine" You answered, just to hesitantly add. "Are...are my colleagues treating you and dad okay?"
"Please tell me what the doctor says...and yes, dear, your friends are lovely. We were having tea while we waited for you to call" That confused you, and you looked up at Price who had a small smile on the corner of his lips. "Johnny and Kyle are very sweet, but uh..." and then she added whispering "...is the man in the mask your colleague as well?"
You glared at Price, and he was visibly trying to hide his smile. Of course he sent Ghost.
"Yes, mom, he is... he's just a... little shy" Your unsure answer made Price chuckle softly.
"Your father invited them for a barbecue later on," She added, sounding excited.
"Of course he did..." You said with a sigh, closing your eyes. "Mom, I need to go now, yeah? I'll call you as soon as I can, please do as they say, okay?" You said as you looked at both Kate and Price.
"Alright, sweetheart. Tell me what the doctor says later, we are so glad you're alright" You smiled again, looking back at the phone. "Your father and I are very proud of you. We love you.”
You couldn't do anything to wipe your tears as your hands were still handcuffed.
"Thank you...I love you too...Bye, mom, I will call later, I promise" You answered in a soft voice, still trying not to give away how upset you were.
"Alright, love, bye-bye" She said one last time, before the sounds gave away that she must have passed the phone back to someone, to which Price turned off the speaker and put the phone back on his ear, standing up and leaving the room for some minutes. Kate walked over you and wiped some of your tears quite gently with a handkerchief, and you felt so defeated that you just let her.
After a few more minutes, Price walked back into the room, phone back in his pocket.
"Your parents are packing to go to the safehouse. Nothing out of the ordinary in the perimeter, and the guys will keep them safe." He said, his hands behind his back as he looked down at you. "Do you have your answer, kid?"
"I'm in"

Touchy Touchy
Word count: 724
Pairing: Wooyoung X fem reader
Warnings: none
Summary: In which she never thought she had a soulmate and yet here she is stuck to Wooyoung for 24 hours
Tumblr media
She never knew her soulbond, she couldn’t afford to see a specialist, she had no markings, and no weird signs that maybe just maybe she even had a soulmate. She thought she was the one in a million to be left unpaired. And so she almost wasn’t able to get a job as an idol’s makeup artist, they usually preferred already paired or older staff, but nobody could deny her talents. Her main specialty was special effects makeup, but she could do some killer ordinary looks as well, it made her lethal when in work mode.
“You’ll be with Ateez today.” The lead makeup artist assigned, simply earning a hum from the young woman who was organizing her station, “Where was the giddy reaction?”
“Why be giddy? I work with idols, it’s to be expected. They’re all talented.” She shrugged, organizing her brushes from the order she uses them in.
“You’re one strange strange girl.”
And with that she was left alone while waiting for her new assignment to come in, thankfully it only took a few moments, followed by the other three makeup artists coming to help.
“I want Mingi and Hongjoong, their faces are my favortie structures!” One of the artists grinned excitedly.
“I want San and Yeosang!”
“I want Yunho and Jongho!”
“I guess that leaves me with Seonghwa and Wooyoung” She chuckled at the other artists' excitement for their preferred members.
She twirled her chair, motioning for the oldest to take a seat, “Okay, I was told we’re doing natural looks, so give me a moment to find which shade is yours and we can get started,” She explained, grabbing his hand to give a few test strokes, it didn’t take long for her to finish, Seonghwa’s face sculpted beautifully that he didn’t need much to enhance his natural features, when she finished she gave her brush a kiss, a habit she had picked up when she first started practicing makeup as a way to thank her brushes for their help. To be fair she did start practicing at 7 so it wasn’t saying much that she had a childish quirk. A childish quirk that everyone in the room caught, almost cooing at the notion that they could tell was pure muscle memory at this point.
“My turn!” Wooyoung chirped, all but shoving Seonghwa out of the chair to take his place, almost bouncing in his seat as he saw a new target for his teasing. But his words got caught in his throat as her hand touched his to figure out his shade, she tried tugging her hand away but what felt like a magnetic pull held their skin together.
“What the?” She gasped in shock, trying to pull her hand away yet again but it stuck stronger than before.
“This is gonna be a problem.” Hongjoong commented as he took in the scene, rushing away to find the manager.
“Well you could’ve just said you were attracted to me.”Wooyoung poked fun, only to receive narrowed eyes in return.
“You know what’s going on, what is it?”
“I think you’re my soulmate.”
“Uh, I don't have a soulmate.” She frowned, confused by the situation.
“Ah that might be where you’re wrong, Wooyoung’s soul bond is that upon touching you won't be able to break physical contact for 24 hours.”  Their manager said as he entered the room, making all attention turn to him.
“What!” She squeaked, eyes widening as her face blushed, being stuck to an attractive idol all day was not in her agenda for the day.
“Does this mean I get to ditch the schedule and cuddle all day?” Wooyoung grinned cheekily, intertwining his fingers with his newly found soulmate so it wasn’t so awkward.
“No what’s going to happen is you’re going to touch legs so she can finish your makeup, then you’ll hold hands til we get to the set, then you’ll touch feet, sorry hon we’ll make a pallet on the floor or something in front of the guys so we can film from waist up.”
This was too much, thankfully Wooyoung picked up on her escalated breathing and swiftly pulled her into him, knowing that the more contact the calmer she’ll get.
“Well, this is going to be an interesting day.” Yunho grinned, excited to see how the day would play out.

Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince
MAATHP Masterlist
Tumblr media
1 : I T ' S A C R U E L S U M M E R
“I gotta tell you Meri,” Bradley gasps at his surroundings as he walks up to the front doors of Buckingham Palace. “This place is amazing.”
“I really think you should reconsider my offer for a day of free tourism courtesy of moi.” Meredith says, holding her million dollar smile for the press stationed outside the door.
“You and I both know if we skipped, our parents would have our heads.” Bradley smiles at a reporter who tries to catch his attention. Meri flashes a smile and waves to her as well and she sneers, turning away to her cameraman.
“That or they don’t need America’s bachelor getting swarmed by English girls again.” She rolls her eyes, stepping inside.
“Or America’s sweetheart getting swept up by an Englishman. Like Prince Jake who very much had his eye on you during the ceremony.” Bradley says, causing her to laugh.
“The only thing Prince Jake was looking at was his reflection in whatever shiny surface he could find.” Meri groans as one of the attendants leads them towards the end of a line.
“Wait here. The royals will enter first and then you may follow.” The attendant walks away and Meri immediately glares at Bradley.
“See… if we went sightseeing, we could be drunk by now. Instead we’re having to wait on the happy couple, the Princess and his royal pompous ass who is probably taking too long in the mirror.”
“Well I’m glad my brother has made such a great impression on our friends across the pond.”
Meri’s attention immediately jumps to the blonde girl in front of her. “Your royal highness.” Meri curtsies as soon as you see Princess Sienna standing in front of you.
“It’s great to see you again, Merideth.” She smiles at you. “And you must be Bradley.”
“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Princess.” Bradley says, throwing on his usual charm.
“Yes, we missed you at the charity event a few months ago.” Meri reminds Sienna of her last missed event.
“Well, you know how it is. Us girls being told where we can or can’t go.” Sienna chuckles softly. “I’ll definitely be at the next one. I hope to talk soon, Bradley.”
“Hopefully, very soon.”
“And I’ll keep my brother as far away as I can.” Sienna smiles with a wink as she begins to walk into the ballroom.
“Thank you.” Meri mouths, slowly following behind her as the other guests start to funnel in. “I’m getting a drink.”
It was hours later when Bradley saw Meri again, drunkenly giggling while she spoke with a few other guests. Just as he’s about to drag Meri out of there, a voice calls out behind him.
“Bradshaw, as I live and breathe.”
“Jake, you look good.”
“Well I am good, I’m very good.” Jake winks, coming up to shake his friend's hand. “How’s my favorite American?”
“We’ll I’m here aren’t I?” Bradley laughs.
“Where’s your shadow?” Jake asks, looking around for Meri.
“Hiding from you. Dude you gotta make a change if she’s ever going to give you a chance.”
Jake blankly stares at Bradley. A change? Jake was enjoying how he lived his life. And Meri giving him a chance? After the way she treated him in the last few years, there was no chance. “She’s just a challenge, Bradley,
“You better be careful.” Bradley warns, “She’s just over there.” Jake smiles as he walks past, grabbing a glass from one of the servers as he makes his way over to you.
“Hello Meri.” He says right next to her ear, Meri’s contagious smile immediately dropping.
“Jacob.”
“I said you weren’t allowed to call me that.” Jake scowls, he hates it when people call him by his full name and Meri knows it all too well.
“And I said only my friends call me Meri. Looks like we're both disappointed.” She growls. Meri bids the couple she was speaking to good night and turns to walk away from Jake.
“Oh come on. You can’t even hold a conversation with me anymore?”
“No, and I’m not ever going to.” Meri replies, slipping out into the hallway.
“Meri! Come on!” Meri stops suddenly, turning around to glare at Jake only to be met with him crashing into her, drink first.
“You have got to be kidding me!” Meri yelps as the cold liquid runs down her front, causing the dress to stick to her.
“Maybe you should have stopped to talk to me like a normal person.” Jake laughs.
“Maybe you should learn to take no for an answer!” She shouts at him. “We’re not friends, we most definitely are not acquaintances. And your unhealthy obsession with me needs to end cause I will never and I mean EVER be interested in you.” Her eyes narrow on the blonde prince whose face still holds a smug smile. Meri goes to say something else when she spots Bradley shaking his head urging Meri to stop as she notices most of the guests staring at her and Jake. “Just leave me alone.” Meri whispers before turning and walking away.
“Meri! Meri, wait!” Bradley calls, following her towards the entrance.
