Krounchasana with me! See if you can hold the pose on each side as long as I do. (Heron pose) keeps one leg bent back and to the side of the hip much like virasana (hero pose). Try to retain as straight of a spin as you can, then drawing the leg to you let your head fall back but your gave travel to the tip of your nose! You can sit on a block or bolster if it is too much pressure on the knee and is preventing you from getting both sit bones on the ground! This pose is a forward bend and comes with all the calming sensations to the central nervous system and a feeling of peace as you surrender your hamstrings! This really hit home. Thank you @bewhole4life for sharing it. I remember the moment over 20 years ago that I sat down on the floor of my laundry room sobbing because I was so exhausted. I had a preteen that I didn’t know because I’d spent his entire life running my family business. I knew in that moment that it was no longer worth it. I was making a bunch of money, had “proven myself” , had all the prestige I’d ever longed for and daily panic attacks that were sending my blood pressure skyrocketing. I just couldn’t do it anymore so I closed the business, raised my son, was able to care for my aging parents , create a beautiful marriage and have mostly never looked back. It was hard, because it had been a huge dream, but the rewards of simply being free to create have been amazing. My extraordinary husband @jameslgehring insisted that I sieze that moment. I have always been grateful, because in truth? I don’t think I would have survived who I was being much longer. I guess that my whole point is. If you know something is eating away at your ability to live soulfully and healthily and you can do something about it, start! Start where you are. 3 years ago I said YES! I was skeptical 🤨 I had a bad taste in my mouth from past companies. I thought I knew it all when it came to fueling my body for peak performance. Boy was I wrong. What started as a way to simply get no compromise nutrition in my body has turned into something beyond my wildest dreams. I showed up to global celebration 2015 not knowing what I was getting into. It was just me and @crystalseaver in San Diego. We screwed up the whole trip and ended up leaving before it was even over 🤷‍♂️This past weekend we had 19 of us here in #nashville for #globalcelebration2018 🎶 (many more couldn’t make it) This amazing company has helped changed the course of my life. My heart is full and my life has purpose. My wish is to continue linking arms with other like minded people who believe there’s so much more for their life. Our mission is simple. 2019: Getting Grounded

2018 was a year of anticipation, of things being up in the air, and never quite knowing what was next. We were trying to move overseas, but it kept getting pushed back and there A LOT of logistics to handle. My husband, Bradley, was in school and then on a job hunt, so we weren’t doing great financially for most of the year. We moved from Nashville to Arkansas. On top of that, I came into 2018 pretty much burned out already; I was experiencing chronic stress, I was sick, the doctors couldn’t give me any any answers, and I was anxious all the time, so I wasn’t in the best place for dealing with the ups and downs that the year threw at us.
Approaching 2019, we thought we would have everything wrapped up and we’d be heading off to England any time this month. But once again, it hasn’t ended up that way. So the Christmas holidays saw us moving again - back to Nashville - to try and get financially stable while we wait out the visa, which may come tomorrow... Or next month. Or in June. Or be rejected.
But we made it. We’re here in 2019, with all of our stuff shipping off to England and no idea whether we will get to follow it, continuing to wait and hope. But this year will not be marked by anxiety, insecurity, and stress about what we cannot control. We are choosing to enjoy the ride and see what we can make of this in-between time.
So our word for 2019 is grounded. For me, that used to come hand-in-hand with being settled, but we aren’t and may never be. We don’t want to spend our time living-in and waiting for a future that may never be a reality. We need to be rooted and fully present where we are, and in each day to make the most of life here and now.
What does that look like practically? I have come up with 4 intentions for getting grounded that I hope will help us, and maybe you too...
Let go of expectation. While it is important to plan, hope, and dream, if you do so with an open palm instead of a grasping fist, you release disappointment and failure. You can’t know what will happen. Relax your grip on the reigns and be willing to adapt when changes come. Unclench. Mindfulness can be a great tool to teach us to let go and let things pass.
Be grateful. Take time each day to notice the wonderful things in your life, whether big or small. Reflect on why you are thankful for those things; what is it about them that makes them great? It may help to write them down to come back to on the darker days. Gratitude has many powers, one of which is to ground us in the moment.
Show up. Be present. Don’t just be there in body, but bring your whole self to each situation. Take time to really taste your food. Listen fully to the people you are with rather than having one foot out the door in your social media world. Experience the sights and smells of wherever you find yourself.
Say yes. Don’t hide away waiting for the perfect conditions for the life you want. They may never come. So seek to live it now. Explore new opportunities. Make new friends. Jump in with both feet and see where it leads.
