I loved Episode-hen of Berubara a lot! I went into reading these with really low expectations, because I wasn't expecting much from a "milking effort" that came 4 decades after the manga. However, I ate my words. All the stories that retold certain bits from the original story and the ones that were side stories/sequel stories kept me engaged throughout. These four supplementary volumes would be pleasing to RoV fans. They are certainly better than what Ikeda was going for with the Loulou stories.
And for the love of kami-sama, someone throw me some sources on the strangest cross-over to ever happen in shoujo: Poe Clan x RoV! And please tell me Hagio also drew vampire Girodelle somewhere in her neo-Poe! Actually, I should write about vampire Girodelle because I don't want to forget it. Something this random rarely happens in the manga world.

Game Theory: The True Identity of Traum's Sengoku Archer!?
source : www . reddit . com/r/grandorder/comments/16ankiz/game_theory_the_true_identity_of_traums_sengoku/
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
reddit comments Commentary:
No, I’m not talking about Detective Ikeda Sen from Return to Shironaga Island.
This is my own little theory as to who the unnamed but still important enough to get a unique portrait Archer in Traum is. Namely, that it’s Nagayoshi’s IRL waifu!
She’s been mentioned on here before in the FGO community by u/10gn and u/wep_wawet in these posts.
The big “clues” are that she’s a riflewoman from the Sengoku period, which given how Fate will throw a genderbend curveball every now and then might not mean much, and that she’s apparently a Buddhist nun. Both criteria fit Ikeda Sen very nicely.
Ikeda Sen was born around 1563 to the Ikeda Clan. She was educated to a high standard and trained in martial arts.
Unusually for a woman at the time, she also became well-versed with firearms, particularly the “Tanegashima” arquebus which was highly favored by teppogumi (gun units).
Sen would eventually lead a Teppō unit of her own consisting of 200 female musketeers.
When precisely she was married to Mori Nagayoshi isn’t clear, but it had to have happened sometime between 1574 (assuming everyone involved waited for at least one of them to turn 16, the average marrying age during the Sengoku period) and 1584.
There’s even less to go on in regards to the state of their union, but Nagayoshi was on good enough terms with the Ikedas (Sen’s father didn’t like him though) to be a frequent ally to them during campaigns.
Ikeda Sen and many of her family members have the distinction of filling out the Great Uniter bingo card of the Sengoku Era, as they fought for and against each of the major administrations associated with Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu (if not the men themselves).
Sen might have fought to avenge Oda Nobunaga under the banner of Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Battle of Yamazaki against Akechi Mitsuhide’s forces. This is somewhat in dispute, but there are anecdotes claiming she did, and some evidence that she at least tried to volunteer for that army.
Ikeda Sen’s next major theater of combat was the Battle of Shizugatake between Hideyoshi and Shibata Katsuie, wherein the Ikedas sided with the former and lay siege to Gifu Castle.
The Battle of Komaki and Nagakute was next, the historic clash between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu (well, technically Oda Nobukatsu). With the Ikeda Clan fighting for Hideyoshi once again, Sen’s father Tsuneoki devised a plan to outflank the Tokugawa forces to attack Ieyasu’s stronghold at Okazaki Castle directly.
Unfortunately for the Ikedas, the movements of their 6000-strong would-be siege force did not go unnoticed, and they were eventually boxed in by pursuing Tokugawa armies.
By the time the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute ended in a peace agreement between the two lords after much back-and-forth in military advantage over several months, both Sen’s father Tsuneoki and her husband Nagayoshi had fallen in battle.
Nagayohsi and Sen had no children.
Eventually, Sen remarried. This time to Toyotomi daimyo Nakamura Kazuuji. They had two children together, including the future first lord of Yonago Domain.
Kazuuji would leave Sen as a widow once more upon his death in the August of 1600.
Afterwards, the now 37(?)-year old Sen became a Buddhist nun.
This peaceful transition did not last as the Battle of Sekigahara flared up just a couple of months afterwards in October of that same year.
There are possibly apocryphal sources that claim Sen picked up her old gear and entered the fray alongside the rest of the Ikeda Clan, this time fighting for the Tokugawa faction.
I really want this to be true, because the image of her being approached to come out of retirement to fight in this battle, only for her to say “no” before deciding to say “yes” and reassembling her old squad is just Hollywood in the best way possible to me.
This might seem unlikely, given that Ieyasu’s armies killed both Sen’s father and first husband for what was ultimately an interim conflict with dubious gains.
On the other hand, Ishida Mitsunari had a bad habit of burning the bridges his regent had built and alienating allies on his side of the shore. So the Ikedas ditching him out of spite is rather probable.
There were records of Sen’s life written as late as 1640, making it likely that she lived for more than 80 years.
As to the reality and fantasy of Ikeda Sen’s military career and the 200 other gunwomen at her side, there is a strong article of evidence that indicates that at least some of it happened: rice.
“Rice Wages” (or koku) to be exact, an estimate based on the total economic yield of a person’s land. By the reckoning of 1650 Japan, the country was assessed at 26 million koku.
For her various exploits both in combat and politics, Sen was awarded 10,000 koku on record. Not an astronomical sum (the Shogun directly controlled 4.2 million koku and a person of interest being given over a 100,000 koku wasn’t unheard of), but it was approximately the amount a castellan or even a daimyo would possess.
Now this rifle-toting lady could be, if she’s supposed to be anyone, Tachibana Ginchiyo, Yoshioka Myorin-ni, or Enkyū Myōgetsu, Women in the Sengoku period who fit the criteria (a strong association with firearms and Buddhism).
She also doesn’t show up in Nagayoshi’s GUDAGUDA chronicle chapter. So who knows?
I just thought it’d be cute if it was Sen. She and Nagayoshi could form a nice comedic (if not romantic) couple in Chaldea. They’re both auburn-headed, they both got them psycho gold eyes, that rugged charm, the big chests, and they’d have a classic melee/far-range complimentary skill set.
She could even show preferential treatment to Ranmaru just to annoy Nagayoshi when she’s feeling cross with him.
Maybe it’s just the hopeless romantic in me.
But hey! That’s just a theory. A Game Theory (minus the NFT-parsing and milk machine smell).

Nobukatsu's headship of the Oda family after Kiyosu Conference
The state of the Oda clan succession is kind of confusing, with various narratives flying around about what exactly came out of the "Kiyosu Conference". The latest research determined that the official heir is indeed Sanboushi, with Nobutaka and Nobukatsu intended to serve as guardians. The old fashioned narrative of Shibata Katsuie putting up Nobutaka as heir candidate while Hideyoshi supported Sanboushi against him is considered incorrect.
I have finally found more detailed info that seems to confirm the state of the affairs. This is a letter transcript from the 12th month of Tenshou 10 (approximately January 1583):
御状拝見候、よってこの表の儀、三介様御名代に相究め、若子様今日請け取り申し、供奉いたし候、当国不届の仁は曲事に相臥せ、ことごとく一篇に申し付け候条、その御心得あるべく候、はたまた委しき儀森勝申さるべく候、恐〻謹言、 極月廿一日 羽筑秀吉(花押) 惟五郎左長秀(花押) 池勝恒興(花押) 遠山佐渡守殿 同 半左衛門尉殿 御返報 I have read your letter. The Oda administration has decided to appoint Sansuke-sama (Nobukatsu) as the interim head, and as such he has assumed responsibility for Sanbōshi-sama today and joined the ranks of his vassals. Should there be anyone in Mino who does not accept this, we will bring to heel this individual for unlawfulness, and the whole province shall follow suit. Mori Nagayoshi will relay the further details. Respectfully submitted. 12th Month 21st Day Ha-Chiku Hideyoshi (signature) Kore-Goroza Nagahide (signature) Ike-Shou Tsuneoki (signature) In response to: Tooyama Sado no Kami-dono idem, Hanzaemon no Jou
The transcript is quoted from this post, and I unfortunately cannot find where the artifact is or what it looks like. Presumably this post's author took the transcript from a book.
At some point, I had found articles that claimed that Hideyoshi somehow flipped the Kiyosu Conference decision on a later date. He put up Nobukatsu as the actual new clan head, and sidelined Sanboushi. Wikipedia cites the source of this claim from papers from Aichi prefecture's historical archives.
However, we can see now that the claim is not entirely true. It is stated that clearly, the official head is Sanboushi. Nobukatsu is only serving as the interim head/temporary lord in his stead until he is of age. Still, even as just an interim head and not the actual new lord of the clan replacing Sanboushi, this would put him above Nobutaka. It does make sense why Katsuie and Nobutaka would be offended by this decision, and thus led to the Battle of Shizugatake.
Wikipedia claims that this decision to appoint Nobukatsu as the interim head was actually done in the tenth month, quite interestingly not very long after Hideyoshi wrote this exaggerated letter offering to commit seppuku and "follow Nobunaga to death". The cited paperwork (same as the above Aichi prefecture archive material) is unfortunately still paywalled and cannot be viewed online, so I cannot verify this.
Also, a note on the funny-seeming names in the signatures. It is common for people in this time to abbreviate their names and aliases or titles in that manner in letter signatures. "Ha-Chiku" is Hashiba Chikuzen, "Kore-Goroza" is Korezumi Gorozaemon, and "Ike-Shou" is Ikeda Shouzaburou.
Niwa Nagahide was granted the new surname "Korezumi" when he was promoted in 1575.
Tooyama Sado no Kami is Tooyama Toshikage 遠山利景, a lord who holds territory in Mino Province. Hanzaemon no Jou is his son. Notes in the article mentioned that Edo period chronicles from Iemitsu's reign claimed that the Tooyama family had already pledged to serve the Tokugawa at this time. However, since the original inquiry from the Tooyama side (to which this cited letter is a response) is nowhere to be found, we don't know for certain what's really happening here.

I missed a whopping five episodes of King-Ohger. ...I've had a rough couple months. I hate job hunting more than I can put into words.
Enough about that though, I'll make things fun for myself today~!
Here's how this is gonna go down. I'll watch episodes 14-16, comment on them as I do so, and you're (maybe if you want to) gonna read. An hour and a half of content today.
Strap in folks, this is gonna be a long one. Spoilers, I guess...
-Jeremy's taking over the world at rapid speed.
-Oh hey, Gerojim.
-Here comes Himeno. ...sorry, I uh... don't really think I can take the other spelling seriously.
-"Tell me the truth, and nothing but the truth."
-"Ehhhhh...I don't really know what Cicada does in their spare time, I'm not their Dad- Oh, too soon~? :3"
-Ohgai Busou.
-Yeah that's an easy way to get stabbed Jeremy.
-Oh hot damn, she cut right through the spider silk.
-That's not a small feat.
-Thank you, Gerojim!
-"I am way beyond the need for calm right now."
-Oh shit, Dezzy training arc.
-You're a water strider, you live like a year maximum.
-"She got your swords back. You're welcome, by the way."
-"Rita! Do you support the death penalty?"
-Gira's picked up on her intent. ...and has been made to follow along~!
-Off he goes.
-"I'll hand down Jeremy's death sentence myself."
-And you just left him laying there, Morphonia?
-"It was really loud. I need a nap."
-"I need pictures Morphonia. Pictures of Spider-Man."
-Snowman Pain.
-"Perjury? No no no, it's simply embellishing~!"
-TARANCHINO
-Well here comes the boss.
-"Oh nooooooo..."
-His sideshow days have come to haunt him.
-"I really needed a nap, Your Magistry."
-"Seeing as you were sleeping inside a cage for a roadside attraction, I do believe that you are innocent beyond reasonable doubt on the charge of invoking the Fury of the Gods. However, you are guilty of being a fucking moron, therefore Himeno Ran's suspicion of you and your behavior was entirely justified."
-I suppose a few years of regency wasn't an option?
-Jeremy has failed to read the room.
-"I know something she might wanna know. Do you know that kid's show character Moffun?"
-"Speak now, Jeremy of the clan Spiders."
-It seems Gira is 1000 years too early to fight Amenjim.
-Mantis Style~!
-Hot girl shit.
-Strong and beautiful indeed.
-They interrupted our Sunday broadcast! Those motherfuckers!
-"Listen up, scrubs! Queen Headchomper needs you to find this guy right here. Catch him and bring him to her."
-"There will be a big reward in it for you if you dooooo~!"
-GIRA WHOA KHJM>HG
-"You're an ugly-ass bitch!"
-Masashi Ikeda's expressions are very good.
-"Moffun and Me... Do you know from where it came from?"
-So someone saw this poor kid all alone at the top... and gave her a chance to learn in a way she'd know.
-...man, that's.. .that''s so sweet.
-"They put me in a cage, Your Highness!"
-God Tarantula!
-Hi Kabutaaaan!
-Hop to the top, Grasshopper style!
-Friends :)
-"Have you ever heard of the practice of beetle fighting?"
-Alright! Takin' charge!
-And an insert song~!
-This is the good shit.
-"I mean... I can't really ask for anything else." :)
-Oh HAI Racules.
-Kaguragi's mysterious sister.
-"Do you wish to visit her?"
-Episode 15~
-I love how Jeremy refers to himself in the third person during the
-BEEEEEEES!
-"Hell? SUZUME!? Goddammit, I need to take this... Yo~!"
-"Kaguragi! It's Racules. You know that spider guy? Jeremy? Yeah, I wanna talk to him now. Go invite him over for me."
-Oh man, that looks good.
-Kaguragi the revolutionary.
Jeremy: Do you know why bees are black and yellow in coloration? It's because they evolved to warn predators that they've- Yanma: Cliff Notes, nerd.
-"Sister~! He's got a sister!"
-Jeremy dips.
-"NYAHAHAHA!", huh Gira?
-Oh
-Rita's total lack of reaction is as much of a condemnation as Yanma's face palm.
-Kidnapping a princess in real life.
-"Do I really have to kill the hoo-Mans? Sorryyyyyyy!"
-There goes flyboy.
-"You're supposed to be up to your eyeballs in maggots right now, Dead Guy."
-N'Kosopa tech~!
-"...thermal insulation?"
-hjlklhg
-Poor Kogane... she has no stage presence.
-"Gira's not evil!"
-Hard to catch a cab so early in the day, huh?
-Meeting of the minds, right here.
-Hot damn, Jeremy.
-"Please, Racules... let her be free once more!"
-"Mmmmmm... sorry, you're gonna have to ask her."
-GIRA YOU
-How'd you even get up there like that?
-Very cute that being nice works out better for Gira.
-And now we've done it! Good morning, Suzume.
-For five seconds, Kaguragi was the most terrified man on Tikyu.
-Oh
-"Wacuwes-samaaaaaa :3"
-Seems like Yanma's suspicion has been totally renewed.
-"Hmmmmmm... Nah~!"
-Even Jeremy had no way to predict this.
-"And I'll be Sir Racules's little pogchamp~!"
-Vassal state.
-I am deeply invested right now.
-Oh you guys got here fast
-The ball is in your court, Kaguragi.
-"Toufu fights for peace. With nothing less than our whole being, I offer it to you!"
-Gira is dead.
-There is no way he should've survived that.
-Fly Boy Strikes~
-Kuwagata Ohger! Now with less yellow!
-"Oh, don't worry, you're fine! ...you just gotta learn how to lie first!"
-Jeremy intervenes once more.
-"The Spider is now a Man!"
-Knight! Knight! Tarantula Knight!
-"Oh~!"
-Pede Chainsaw...
-Okay, very cool robo design.
-Kaguragi doesn't even comment.
-"I'm weak to Family Matters... that Reginald VelJohnson could talk me into anything."
-Kaguragi can't cry. After all, Suzume isn't.
-"Worry not, my dear Prince..."
-OH
-Well goddamn, guess she's got quite the backbone.
-"It's all done, Lord Racules."
-Taking the initiative, huh?
-There's a lot to the silver-colored beetle.
-TINY RITA
-"I'M AN ABOMINATION! And I'm coming to your house after Schooooool~!"
-I wonder how expensive PreShabana gets?
-Rita struggles with their desire.
-"I will store it here then. I am awesome."
-Morphonia with the accidental ethical save.
-15 years...
-"Not tomorrow. I can't."
-Their first ever trial was a murder.
-Pulling a Phoenix Wright at the age of ten.
-I won't lie tho, she does give me big Franziska energy.
-That must be Siron.
-"A shitty husband broke both his Hippocratic Oath and his bond of marriage. That is and always will be the truth of the LS-47 incident."
-A 15 year old murder case with new evidence- Oh fuck, this is Ace Attorney!
-Back to work
-"This is to scawy for me."
-WHOA 5!?
-Jesus Christ, talk about inflating your kid's job resume for the market.
-...wish I could do that.
-Snow Elves!
-Ah yep, that's a Kaijim.
-"Well, that didn't work out. Oh well~"
-Poor Jeremy, he bought it too much.
-"What better for the world than peace?" Racules sneered.
-Moffun-less once more.
-"This was previously claimed as evidence. Please accept it back, Himeno."
-Poor butterfly.
-"Oh."
-"The Fury of the Gods... the LS-47 case. They may very well be inextricably linked."
-And away Rita walks.
-Pestes rex eris!
-Here comes Jeremy.
-God Scorpion's venom.
-No peace for us, I'm afraid.
-Karras is alive.
-She put a 10 year old in charge of an entire justice system. How... immeasurably competent is Rita?
-That is some insane planning.
-"Are you sure you want to put a fucking baby in charge?"
-"Take pride in your weakness."
-Regency doesn't exist in Tikyuu, I guess.
-Find your wife, king.
-Oh, battle time!
-OH
-Heterochromia, huh?
-Holy damn.
-"Ah don't worry :3"
-Guilty as charged.
-"No, no, you didn't fail~! You just... learned something important for us~"
-Oh hey, Jeremy.
-Got webs. Must be a retiarius.
-Cicada Blade!
-Premium Moffuns!
-Hewwo, Himeno
-"You gave me the benefit of the doubt."
-Moffun get
-"Thank you."
-Adorable :)
-Oh, we're done here then.
-Oh FUCK
-Hello, Racules.
-He's about to take a high dive off the deep end, isn't he?
-Well, that's gonna have to wait a little. I'll reconvene with you later-ish.

MK 1 Spoilers in this post
I decided to do a fun little thought experiment, and that is hypothetically who would my Lin Kuei/Shirai Ryu side with in the conflict presented in MK1 between Bi Han and Kuai Liang.
Some of these I have mentioned in previous posts, some of these I haven't but I figured I'd share anyways.
Bi Han' Side:
Viper (Zilya Kirillovna): Since she's pretty much 100% loyal to Bi Han (and I'm pretty sure she'd be a kid/teen during MK1) she'd stay with the Lin Kuei and continue following Bi Han without question.
Jonna & Tim Beck: (Jonna is Tim's mother so obviously they're sticking together) Since Tim is a cryomancer Jonna would keep him at the Lin Kuei so he can learn to control his powers and fear of retaliation if the two try and leave. That said neither would be happy about the clan's change in direction.
Ren Chao: While he'd be hesitant about Bi Han's ideas he'd end up staying for Jonna and Tim, but he doesn't at all trust Sektor.
Ikeda Shoda: (Umi's father) Pretty much 100% agrees with Bi Han.
Ikeda Akira: (Umi's brother) He's similar to his father but not as extreme. So he would agree with Bi Han but not willing to take it as far. That said he wouldn't want to serve Liu Kang so odds are he'd stay as a Lin Kuei.
Kuai Liang's Side:
Ikeda Umi: While she does believe in honor and glory she wouldn't be willing to take it as far as Bi Han. Also she's not cool with the idea of standing by and doing nothing while the world is in danger. As much as she likes Frost she just couldn't join Bi Han.
Marina Montes: She signed up to protect the realm, not to be an assassin.
Tyler Read: She is 100% joining Kuai Liang. No question about it. She, like Marina, would rather protect others then become a hired killer. Plus new cryomancer for the Shirai Ryu, so win/win.
Peter Cross: He left the Special Forces because he wanted to be a part of something that he viewed as actually serving a purpose and where he'd be able to help people.
Granted I do have some ocs who aren't named and so weren't included on this (3 of Umi's brothers and her mother) but this is what I came up with.

Ai Jirushi
These small flags are called Ai-Jirushi, battle identification flags and were worn in battle attached to the samurai armour. The larger Ai-Jirushu would have been worn on the left Sode (shoulder guard), and another similar one tied forward facing at the hip.
Another of these identification tags would be tied to the back of the kabuto (helmet). In some cases, the helmet tag would have the wearer's name and other information recorded, so that if his head was taken, the victor would know who's head it was.
Similar identification tags would be tied to the upper end of spears and other weapons. To be sure, samurai armies would also use Ai-Kotoba (passwords) for further identification.
This particular set came from the warehouse of a retainer of the Ikeda Clan based in Kurashiki in Okayama Prefecture. The square shaped crest is called the Kuginuki, or "Nail Puller" crest.

@caemthe said (inbox):
[ nobu, for nagayoshi ] "Oi, Katsuzou, mind me asking a couple things?" Chacha had left the room to steal search for snacks, which gave the daimyō the perfect chance to say something that had crossed their mind that day. "Why are you so stupid?" Each word would've been accentuated by a smack to the head if they hadn't been lying down. "I mean, you ever stopped to think why I approved for the Ikeda and Mori clan to tie the knot? Come on, your wife was one of a kind so... the hell was that with your daughter not becoming an onna-bugeisha and not marrying a samurai?" Because, seriously, such wasted potential. The children of terrifying warriors should become even more terrifying warriors themselves. Ugh, it didn't take a genius to figure that out. "If I had known, I would've sent her to be fostered by another family." A yawn. "Actually, the hell were you doing instead of making more brats? Being a couple years away from the battlefield wouldn't have killed Sen-chan." Tch, just thinking about it pissed them off but it wasn't like it could be helped now.
Tumblr media
AS IF HE COULD refuse Nobunaga. What was he supposed to say? No? To them? Seemed ridiculous. However, sometimes they liked giving the illusion of choice, so he would go along with it. ❝Sure. What’dya want?❞ Considering they purposely waited until Chacha left, no doubt whatever he was going to be asked would be annoying. Even so, one did not refuse Nobunaga, and so he’d have to answer it – whatever it was. The question that came was one that earned a raised brow, his head giving a slight tilt to the side. ❝Huh?❞ Nagayoshi couldn’t recall doing anything that was too…outside…of his usual habits. He tried to dig through his thoughts to find something, although in the end, there was no reason to do even that. Nobunaga continued on, stating what they had meant by him being ‘stupid’. Teeth clenched, his expression darkening, but he didn’t say anything. At least, not at first. For as loud and quick to state his mind as he always was, there was switch between his usual boorish and brash habits to something far more cunning and cautious – the very things that one would assume that Nagayoshi was not. ❝Well, you can’t trust a rabid dog to do everything you want it to do. You know that much, Boss.❞
He was obedient, though also not quite. Nagayoshi did what Nagayoshi wanted to do, and they were very much aware of that fact since the beginning. Was that not why they wrote off his behavior at times, as him just being him? Why they did not punish him for killing each and every guard that had attempted to block his way and make him get off his horse back in the past? Why they hadn’t punished him for things said or done when others would have been slain on spot after a good laugh from Nobunaga? ❝Anyway, why would I want to have more kids when I could be out there killing? My daughter would have been a terrible onna-bugeisha. A good wife, yeah, but warrior? Not so much.❞ He waved his hand, brushing aside the very thought of it. ❝She didn’t have the disposition for it and would have been more liability than anything else…and I know how you hate those you can’t properly use. ‘Sides, the time I spent lounging about the estate would have been put to better use taking enemies heads.❞ He leaned back, his hand lifting to cup his chin as he glanced up at the ceiling. ❝Nah, that other stuff never really came to mind when war was a lot more interesting than setting up a marriage.❞

Poe no Ichizoku references
I recently came across two Poe no Ichizoku references while reading manga, and they put a smile on my face.
The first one is from Riyoko Ikeda's epic drama, Orpheus no Mado's (1975) first volume. Alexei Mihailov knows his shoujo manga. It was so nice to see such an early reference!
Tumblr media
And the second was from Nakamura Asumiko's Tonari no Vampire (2009). This guy's name is a reference to our cute vampire bois, and French actor Alain Delon. Both "Allan" and "Alain" are spelled as "アラン" in Japanese, but of course, I was big-brained to use the first spelling here. One could argue that she did this as a direct reference to Edgar Allan Poe, but come on, this dude is a vampire. This combination can only point us to Poe Clan.

🌸 HISTORICAL NOTES - Akechi Mitsuhide(1528-1582)
As a disclaimer we do not know a lot about him and there is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to him, with that out of the way,i hope you enjoy my post.
He is said to have had been born in 1528(second the Akechi Gunki) and his parents are believed to be Akechi Mitsutsuna and a daughter of the Wakasa branch of the Takeda clan. His father died on the year 1538,leaving Mitsuhide under the guardianship of his uncle,Akechi Mitsuyasu.
In 1556; Saitō Yoshitatsu led a rebellion against his father and Mitsuhide's uncle,Saitō Dōsan. Mitsuhide supported Dōsan, however Dōsan lost and it led to Akechi Castle being attacked by Yoshitatsu. There are theories that say that Mitsuhide served Asakura Yoshikage for some time but i'm not so sure on how accurate those claims are.
Due to the Eiroku incident, that led to the murder of the shōgun Ashikaga Yoshiteru, his brother Ashikaga Yoshiaki fled to Wakasa province and got in contact with many powerful daimyō for support and particularly,Oda Nobunaga. Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Minō province caused Yoshiaki to lose his trust on him and for him to enter in contact with Asakura Yoshikage and led to him pleading with Yoshikage for him to march on the capital and get him proclaimed shōgun and this in turn led to Yoshiaki and Mitsuhide to get in contact. Mitsuhide was said to have persuaded Yoshiaki to not rely on Yoshikage and to instead search for Oda Nobunaga's support after Yoshiaki's pleas for Yoshikage to march upon Kyoto went ignored. Due to Sagiyama-Dono(Nōhime or Saitō Kichō/Kochō,Saitō Dōsan’s daughter and Mitsuhide’s cousin on her maternal side) being Oda Nobunaga’s legal wife,it was easy for him to get into contact with Nobunaga.
With the agreement between Yoshiaki and Nobunaga settled,Mitsuhide joined service under the Oda clan. He joined the march to Kyoto and in 1569,defended Yoshiaki from a attack. At a point, started to work with Hashiba Hideyoshi,Niwa Nagahide and Nagakawa Shigemasa to serve as magistrates on Kyoto.
He split from Yoshiaki on 1573,and continued to serve Oda Nobunaga throught his campaigns. Now I’m sorry but doing research on everything he did is kinda overwhelming but just keep in mind he was a great player among the Oda forces and served in many of Oda’s battles and campaigns.
In 1581,Mitsuhide became extremely depressed after the death of his younger sister,Tsumaki(who was said to have been one of Oda’s consorts). This was said to have had contributed to Mitsuhide’s betrayal of Oda the following year.
In 1582,after receiving orders from Oda to support Hashiba Hideyoshi during his campaign against the Mōri,he informed his senior retainers of his intention to betray Nobunaga.
The following month after this,Mitsuhide launched a attack on Honnō-ji Temple that caused Nobunaga’s death by Seppuku and Oda Nobutada,Nobunaga’s oldest son and heir, was surrounded at Nijō castle by the Akechi clan’s forces and died there. Hideyoshi, unlike Mitsuhide’s prediction, quickly signed a peace treaty with the Mōri and rushed to fill the power vacuum. Mitsuhide struggled to keep the support of his troops and his forces of 13,000 soldiers dwindled to 10,000.
Hideyoshi, who had joint forces with both Niwa Nagahide and Ikeda Tsuneoki, was quick to attack him at the battle of Yamazaki with his forces of 20,000 soldiers. It is unknown how Mitsuhide died, but he was said to have had died at the hands of a bandit who attacked him while he fled after his loss at the battle in July 2 of 1582.

Personality
Kagome is a dull, bored girl that works underneath the head of the Ikeda clan and her father, Hiroto Ikeda.
Despite being his only daughter and eldest child, Hiroto does not regard Kagome's safety and feelings. As such, he forces her into working as an assassin to rid Inazuma of all sorts of public figures and regular citizens. With her cunning intellect, she has gotten away with every assassination.
Kagome is not very talkative, only socializing when required. She prefers catnapping and eating snacks, saying that are the only things she can derive brief pleasure and entertainment from. She often dissociates from reality, disconnecting herself when very stressed or extremely sleep-deprived.
Regardless of the disinterest in speaking, Kagome is incredible at all kinds of discussion—except interpersonal. Not growing up with (presumably) any friends, she struggles to understand others' emotions. She functions by pure emotionlessness and rationality. Although, it can be obvious when she is disinterested, as she will leave conversations.
Due to her upbringing, she always considers every outcome, possibility, and honor of her father and her clan. She speaks politely yet in a straightforward manner. Her gaze has been referred to as "domineering and frightening" by many of those who know her, such as her retainer—Junko Haruna. This is an unintentional behavior she picked up from her father.
Interpersonally, as described by Junko, she is considerably kinder and considerate. Although, she has the occasional homicidal tendencies when someone she deems a "good associate" is threatened.

Was Nobukatsu ever put forward as a potential successor of the Oda clan headship?
Alas, I missed the memoriam date for Honnouji, so I shall make do with discussing the Kiyosu Conference. To be fair, it was the Julian date of Honnouji that I  missed and, as such, the proper Gregorian date is not actually here yet, but be that as it may...
Something that I’m finding hard to pursue is the issue of what was going on in the “Kiyosu Conference”, where the future of the Oda clan was mediated and discussed. The common knowledge story is that Shibata Katsuie presented Nobutaka as the new heir, while Hideyoshi presented Sanboushi. Nobukatsu was present, but it’s rare to see anyone make a claim that he was presented as a potential successor during the meeting.
Despite modern perception that Nobukatsu was incompetent, it would seem that he was not viewed that way in his lifetime. A review on the Seishuu Gunki (War Chronicles of Ise Province) claim that Nobukatsu was presented in a neutral light and there was nothing deriding him for incompetence. Even if for some reason Tokugawa rule forbids chronicles to say bad things about a daimyou, I should imagine if he had a reputation of being a fool, it would be at least mentioned somewhere. There was no issue in Ota Gyuuichi writing “in his youth Nobunaga had the reputation of being a Fool” in the Shinchoukouki, after all. In which case, if Nobutaka was eligible for nomination as heir, then so was Nobukatsu.
*Edit: Now that I have Seishuu Gunki, it turns out there were a few stories criticising him for making unwise decisions, but it’s all followed by comments that amount to something like “This is a common thing among samurai lords of this time”, so I’m not sure what to make of it.
So, was he ever a contender in this succession debate? Even in the “common knowledge” stories, when Sanboushi was named the new lord, there were narratives that mentioned that Nobukatsu would take priority in serving as Sanboushi’s guardian over Nobutaka. Meaning that he was still being valued rather highly, even if only due to the order of seniority.
There was a theory that someone had nominated him, and he was indeed named the lord of the Oda due to Hideyoshi supposedly changing his opinion at some point. It’s just that the cited source was a research paperwork from Aichi prefecture that, the last time I checked, was paywalled and I would be required to actually call the office in Japan to make inquiries.
A few years ago, there was also a discovery of a letter bearing Nobukatsu’s signature and addressed to Hideyoshi. Historians speculated that the contents of the letter indicated that he desired to become his brother’s successor as lord of the Oda. However, due to lack of further information, this is still rather unclear.
As of now, the only detailed citation I was able to find was from James Murdoch’s book:
A few weeks after the death of Nobunaga all his great vassals assembled at the Castle of Kiyosu in Owari to decide upon his successor. Nobuo (Nobukatsu), the eldest surviving son, was supported by Ikeda and Gamo, a young and brilliant captain of Omi, while Nobutaka’s claims were strongly and hotly urged by Shibata and a certain Takikawa, who had gained considerable reputation and influence during the campaign against Takeda of Kai at the beginning of the year, when he had been made Daimyo of Kodzuke. This Takikawa had an intense hatred for Hideyoshi, and this community of sentiment doubtless had much to do with the support he lent to Shibata’s view of how the feudal law of the Empire should be construed in the case they had to decide.
As might have been foreseen, Hideyoshi came forward as the champion of Nobunaga’s baby grandson, Samboshi. After a long and acrimonious wrangle it was finally decided that Samboshi should be acknowledged as head of the House of Oda, that Nobuo should act as his guardian, and that the administration of public affairs should be entrusted to a board of four—Shibata, Niwa, Ikeda, and Hideyoshi, who were all to rank as equals.
History of Japan by James Murdoch, book 2, pages 190-191
He did not quote or name any source for this, so presumably this was based on a Japanese text. Murdoch tends to only make direct quotes from texts of European origin.
This means that at some point, there was a Japanese account that made this claim. It just either got lost in the 100 or so years since Murdoch’s writing, or fell out of favour in the public eye for whatever reason. I could not find any Japanese source that present this narrative yet. Considering all the strange narratives Murdoch presented in this very same book, it would make sense if this narrative was debunked due to the source being untrustworthy or being outright absurd. I still wish I knew what the original source was, for further research.
Also interesting is that this text claims that Takigawa (Kazumasu) is the one who hates Hideyoshi. Popular fiction usually depicts Shibata as the one who harbours dislike for Hideyoshi, probably due to the impression made by Battle of Shizugatake.
Lastly, there is also the issue of a new theory claiming that “All of those are wrong, Sanboushi (Hidenobu) was unanimously agreed as the one sole heir the whole time”. I sure hope there’d be more easily-accessed documentation that I could find, because it’s impossible for me to track down and/or buy all the books that contain the information.
