salutations, i’ve got a bucket full of V3 redesigns for you all!

this is for a “rewrite” fic, technically, and i thought it’d be more fun to give the character designs my personal touches, since i’m gonna be doing the same with my writing

little bullet point reasonings on each of the designs below the cut

ouma: - i didnt really change too much of his design, but i wanted to give it less of a “straitjacket” look and decided to go for a wispy, mysterious look. his scarf now doubles as a hood, which is loosely inspired by his cape in his official art - i gave him a bang to cover half his face, because i just like how it looks on him lmao, imo it gives him sort of a sneaky, “intentionally being the creepy kid” look

himiko: - ill be honest, her redesign was just me having fun. i dont mind her canon design too much, but i did wanna give her the air of not only a performer, but a girl who seriously doesnt care about social conventions (autism) so she wears her cape and her little witch dress around everywhere bc she loves it - i gave her more teal on her design, since APPARENTLY thats what v3 has decided is himiko’s main color? teal, not red? so i gave her a healthy mix of both

kaito: - he’s wearing a JAXA jumpsuit that is modified into his signature magenta color, but he’s an idiot so he’s wrapped the top half around his waist so he can wear his little... bomber-style jacket, since aerodynamics and all that - i made his hair.... more normal, because i really hate drawing kaito’s stupid spiky hair! now he has a little headband flattening his wild hair

shuichi: - his design in canon, while... nice, it’s very plain. so i kept the general look and feel of the canon uniform but adding some touches that feel personal to shuichi, like the turtleneck with sleeves that cover his palms. it gives him a more reclusive look, somebody who prefers being in their comfort zone

kaede: - she’s the first one i started with, so she ended up being a bit of a “basis” for the rest of the designs, considering how different my design is from her canon one. personally, dislike the skintight sweater vest, it doesnt look comfortable NOR does it suit kaede’s personality (imo) so i decided to give her an outfit that makes her look loose, carefree, but still naive and inexperienced. - ponytail, i just think kaede would prefer as well, her canon design has such a round hair shape and it looks silly if i focus on her silhouette too much. shes like a bobblehead

maki: - HOLY SHIT, maki i had a good time redesigning, since i harbor nothing but disdain for how she looks in canon. her stupid edgy red/black seifuku with thigh highs and mile long hair just was too much for me to bear. - i gave her an outfit that seems serious, but still cutesy and nonthreatening. i took her red/black palette and turned up the warmness a bit so she has more browns and maroons that give the impression she’s warmer than she acts like she is - her pigtails are much shorter as well-- i cant decide if theyre clip-ons or her real hair, but at least theyre shorter. honestly, i know she’s supposed to be the ~wooby tragic backstory sexy anime girl~, but her mile long pigtails wouldve gotten her ass yoinked from behind and killed long ago. so i chopped them. also, she’s got a handgun tucked in the back of her pants, hidden by her sweater’s bagginess. no more lame knives for you maki, you get a gun

korekiyo: - just like with himiko’s design, i was mostly just having fun with korekiyos redesign. i like his canon design, but i wanted to try my hand at giving him a much more androgynous look. it ties well into the whole sister thing, anyway... - the flowers depicted on his clothing are crudely drawn i admit, but theyre intended to be white lilies, which represent a few things: renewal of the soul, a common funeral flower, commitment and rebirth - i also figured, if im gonna give more girls pants, i should give at least one of the male characters a skirt, and korekiyo is beautiful and i wanted to draw him in drapey clothing.

miu: - and best for last is miu iruma! man, i HATE her canon design, seriously, what a lazy design! they just slapped bondage gear over a pink seifuku and were done with it! dont even get me started on her long, loose and wild hair that would be an utter nightmare for people who work with machines. i decided to keep her wild and long hair, but packed it all in a thick braid, because it ended up looking surprisingly good for her. besides, she’d probably make some innuendo about it being the “perfect to use as a reign from behind” or something lmao - i also changed her pink seifuku into a frilly, steampunk-styled shirt with the straps and gear on top to kind of... hold it into a specific shape. - we were ROBBED of miu with cute overalls in one of her beta designs, so i gave them back. i rly kinda kept in mind the mindset of “if i was miu iruma, what would *I* personally choose from my wardrobe to feel attractive and powerful?” - i wanted to give her a toolbelt, but thought it would look a little cluttered on the design. but she likely uses one regularly

SU reclaimed pearl rambles

im gonna use some annoying comments i got on my reclaimed pearl as a springboard for what i think could be interesting discussion because i think its good to engage with criticism/different opinions. but also if you talk to me like an asshole i want you to fuck off and i promised i wouldnt engage in that kind of stuff bc its not good for me and it doesnt Look good for me either.

so i can talk about my thoughts but not engage directly, win win. its been months but im still really fond of the pearl i made specially this art. like it coudl be better but i like it well enough. just a little header so this isnt a boring post with only text

i think like, its good to establish ground rules that like, i think most of the poor reactions ive seen towards my art were missing, mostly in bad faith probably but in case theres ppl who earnestly want to understand. actually maybe i can format it like a little FAQ even though theyre not frequent or asked lskdjg just for outlining my points. ill put it behind a cut but ill frontline w this: if youre a fan of pearl in the show, this content is not for you. youre allowed to like whatever you want and so am i. if you like her, we probably wont get along and you probably will feel very personally irritated by how i FEEL about her, so just walk away now. im not gonna engage with petty shit taht juts boils down to 'im mad you dont like what i like'

onwards to more rambling / sorta responding to some criticism

i scrolled back and i guess i sorta never have actually done a proper full explanation post about this AU have i? or maybe i have and deleted it, i forgor

why did you change pearl?

because i hate her, simple as. i went from a huge SU fan to hating watching it (i did finish) and pearl is probably The biggest reason why, as like issues with her character seep into other aspects of the show that i also hate. like i mean i Realyl hate her. she makes the experience of watching the show really irritating and miserable for me. if you dont feel taht way about her thats totally normal and whatever but no one is gonna change my experience and feelings that i had watching SU since the 1st season was coming out.; anyway answering. there is a Lot i love about SU and want to engage with, so i had the idea of like,maybe ill just change pearl, cause i wanted to delete her, really, but she is one of the main characters and she hasa function as a character that you cant just do away with. essentially im just like, some guy, who draws, coping and trying to reclaim his teenage investimetn in this show. literally its just for ME. but if anyone else feels like i do, then they can enjoy it too. if somoene doesnt feel like i do, go watch like pearl fancams or smth. like ill never be able to literlaly change the show as it is, like its happened, and its a tragedy im trying to move on from (begrudgingly)

why do you hate pearl?

the long laundry list of reasons are probably apparent in the ways i remade her lol (theyre not i can tell ppl are gonna project whatever worst bad faith reason for any change i make) but tbh the core of it is this, which is like, beyond whatever traits she has and whatever: she reminds me of my abusers. always had, from season 1, but like it became worse as the series went on. its like really infurating and upsetting to watch SU bc of her. had my abusers been a different kind of person, maybe i wouldnt hate her so much (kinda doubt tbh). like her personality and behavior are like hough disgosting!!

why did you change (some physical trait about her design)?

i dont really necessarily have a PROBLEM with canon pearls design. over the years ive come to like SU's style less and less but like, gestures, whatever. like i didnt like it or anything but its not like a bit deal compared to the actual offender that is her personality and behavior. the reason i redesigned her at all is bc like, if i hadnt, i would still be thinking about the way she is in canon all the time. like ive visually associated her like, appearance with all the shit about her thta makes me upset so i had to so she didnt look like the same person anymore, and i can try to let go of some of the hatred in my heart. like i want to think about the thigns about SU that i loved and also the potential i always saw in it and canon pearl is like, an active obstacle to that, to the point taht i cant even see her without getting like irked. i tried to keep enough similar traits so from a glance youd be like, who the fuck- is that pearl? rather than like. completely change her entirely to whatever i wanted. i do want to like, its a creative exercise. i want to try and change the things that would make me happy to see gone but try to work within the constraints of the SU we Did get as much as i can tolerate. bc like.... if the sky was the limit then at this poin wed just have to throw the whole thing away and start from scratch. like its kinda not really very salvageable, like im not rewirting SU to be like a Good show or fix Everything, its kinda too broken. im just chnaging enough so i can look at the actual show, screenshots, songs etc, and not feel overcome wtih like the grief and irriatation of how much it sucked ass. its just so i can enjoy more of it again

cool. thanks for your input. youre welcome! eat my asshole. seriously though, like, shrugs. i didnt make it for anyone other than myself. tbh im not fully satisfied with it either bc i think the SU style is kinda ugly, so im at a crossroads. should i mostly abandon the SU style? ive like, tested out tweaking things, it mightve been noticeable in screenshot redraws. drawing within the SU style is to create that coping 'oh it was totally like this haha' vibe but maybe im old enough to not need that anymore lol. like ive heard ppl say shit like shes ugly, or like sneakily trying to imply im like, got some agenda over beauty or racism etc. like whatever, think whatever you want, its not for you. go back to sucking up to rebecca or smth like i cant take the og pearl away from you still i am open for like that kind of criticism like, do i have personal biases affecting my design decisions? probably. i do try to keep aware of why im choosing certain things, but really in this case i cant emphasize enough how like, irritating it is that i have to change her design at all. like its hard to come up w smth else when the rest of the cast ahs already been design to balance off the og pearl. i probably wouldnt change almost anything if the sight of her didnt piss me the fuck off! most of all i kinda wouldve preferred to keep her hair short bc it messes up the sillouete but it makes me think too much of canon pearl so i made it long :/ i was like let me tell you my design thought process: -im gonna try to keep as many recognizable traits about her design while taking away bit by bit until she doesnt look like the og pearl to me anymore and i dont feel angry seeing her. pearl is lanky, tall, spindly, with a gem on the forehead, blue white pink yellow pastel colors, large pointed nose. i kinda tried to keep these traits while slightly tweaking their design until she looked different enough. is it a good design? eh idk. like the purpose is to make me not hate her and it does that job

now this hate comment im gonna grace with keeping it intact except removing the person bc its not about them. its like, a very stupid ass headed comment but im actually kind of interested in like,jumping off of it to ponder some things

im not heterosexual or cis enough to know what exactly wife bate means in this context so im gonna like guess, that maybe i could extract this q from that reply (also not looking like shes from steven universe is a compliment thanks)

you took away her personality and made her boring

the only thing i can assume is that like, some people must interpret the absence of an assholey personality or like abusive behavior is 'boring'. i know thats a really bad faith assumption but like, if ive written down a bunch of personality traits and you still come out saying thats 'no personality' what am i to make of that lol. based on my experience like Existing online, people tend to often call nice characters 'boring', like dude ive done it before, but i think im kinda over that edgy phase. also again, its for me and not for you so if you think shes boring, thanks for your input i dont care. but thinkign about it earnestly, i dfeintely dont want to make a character thats just no flaw and not interesting ofc, i havent done that with reclaimed pearl. that being said i havent like, probably written a lot demonstrating what i want her to be like instead of the canon pearl so, maybe ppl just are feeling lost with the lack of information.

personally, if i hear someone thinks a character is boring bc theyre not abusive anymore like, nothing of value has been lost. but characters do need flaws in order to create conflict and cause things to happen, like in a way canon pearl is like All flaw, which wouldnt be a problem except she gets away wtih all the horrible shit she did. heres some traits i want to explore with reclaimed pearl, some are similar to canon i just wanna go about it a different way: being overprotective/possessive to steven in a smothering way, projecting abandonment issues, not reaching out/communicating her emotions properly, lacking indepedence/self worth, depending on others to avoid confronting her own issues, being very passive and insecure and lacking initiative (this being the totally opposite trait that canon pearl has), stunting stevens development due to her not being ready for him to grow up and not need her anymore. and more, this is just from the top of my head. maybe thats still too 'boring' for ppl because shes not being selfish and inconsiderate enough to others so you can relate to her but i dont care :p

gosh how do i go about like, presenting the content i ahve in my head for this AU).. i cantjust remake the whole damn show. i would if i could, tbh

i have concerns about racist implications wrt (insert thing here about my redesign)

imma be frank. i dont know how to compltely 'clean up' any possible bad associations wrt pearl as a character given how like, rebecca has literally like, made her to be a slave in love with her slave owner and made it to be like, an uwu ideal lesbiab thing for most of the show until they tried to pretend no we understood the flaws in this dynamic all along and its bad actually , uhh, anyway shows over haha

ill say the main reason i changed her skintone is, bc that would be the like most instant way to make her look differnt from canon (which is vital for me for the reasons said above), and i did consider like, does this make the whole thing worse, or, ?? like, as they made it in the show, techincally All the gems are slaves to the diamonds, arent they? including all the very totally progressive poc based gems including and specially the ones who are made to be understood as black women. bruh like idk what to tell you this show is just fuckig bad sdlgkj like its just way too like, pervasive in my teen years forme to throw the baby w the bathwater entirely. and ill just straight up say it, like, im not a specialist on these topics nor do i hav ea position of authority to speak on about it. like the pearls read more clearly as slaves (very intentionally by the showrunners) bc they are meant to be subservient to gems Other than diamonds. and also bc they like fit in the stereotype of housemaid servant. like the rubies being made to just be forced to go and fight like they are slaves too, they have no rights and no like, authority to disobey or autonomy. but fsr like, slavery as in physical labor just doesnt immeidately set off ppls alarms as much as housework slavery does fsr.

i can only rly like change the canon so much and try to like, tweak things so it doesn feel as gross but i think for it to be cmpletely not insneistive at all youd have to throw away the whole show. and like i said, this isnt like me saying like im making the show good or as it shouldve been, im making it so I (and ppl who share my feelings about the show) can feel less shitty just thinking back to it. its just an exercise. im not like mass media im just one independent artist and shit will come out insensitve sometimes and im sorry but im also like, my art isnt meant to be representative and like, responsiuble for fixing all of society and racism like i actually cant do that. ill just do the best i can as an asian dude but like, if my work makes you upset, im sorry, but also just block me. like i cant please everyone. or like, even better, make YOUR take on pearl taht you feel would be better, like make the art you feel should exist.

this post is too damn long and id be surprised if anyone reads all of it but if you do, tahnk you! i felt kinda like ready to fight tonight so im triyng to redirect it from aggression to like, thinking. i cant guarantee im making new content for su reclaimed anytime soon but i would really like to, tbh

Cant believe I have to make a statement like this but if you use MY OCS without permission I will be unbelievably pissed. Im not talking about fan art of my ocs or characters like Jingle who I let Quakey draw freely because he was made with her oc in mind.

I mean people using my ocs without knowing me or my characters to make content. Im talking about people using my ocs to make fetishitic content. Because yes this has happened before. But its getting so nerve wracking waiting for some rando to see my oc on google and call dibs. It happens the MOST in the care bear community. Its so bad I get actual anxiety about people adding my oc art to Collections on DA. Geo and an Au design of Bluster were added to collections marked with a project title. DONT FUCKING USE MY CHARACTERS OR MY DESIGNS WITHOUT ASKING ME. Geo HAS been stolen before and it was frustrating having the same person and their friends contact me several times trying to talk me into letting her be used for their content after I said no.

This is far beyond my redesigns or aus being stolen or heavily copied which also frustrates me to no end. But Ive come to expect it because it always happens to my work. People have gone out of their way to edit my watermark or sona out of art to repost it.

But my ocs are fully mine and I have extensive lore to them I dont want some stranger shipping my 14 year old character with one of my 30 year old ones because they dont know their ages. I dont wanna see Geo being used for personal projects because her 'design is cool'. I dont want to see my canonnically lesbian ocs being paired with my canonically gay characters. Im not a content creator or artist whos making a popular media peice, Im not making a show. So people do not know these designs trace back to me. When you see art of welcome home or h*lluva b*ss you know who their creators are. You know whos characters those are. You know Amity and Luz are Dana Terrace's.

But I'm a hobby artist whos following is barely over 1000 followers most of whom arent active. I wouldnt be so pissed if i had some huge popular project under my belt where people recognised my ocs and knew this content wasnt canon. But im not and it fucking sucks having some randos using my ocs incorrectly without credit or acknowledgement theyre mine.

If you ever see my ocs being used without credit. Please come let me know ill handle it as civilly as possible.

oh my god yes. i was just about to make a post. ill say a few opinions because they are all scattered.

problem one: from the founding of ag to 2014, everything was perfect. it all went downhill when the historical dolls were rebranded to beforever. all historical accuracy went out the window to cater to an even younger audience. all the playsets turned to plastic, there used to be wooden accessories! metal even! now its all cheap plastic, hunks going for hundreds of dollars. quality of items went down, as well as quality of stories. all the realism in the historical settings were wiped to have colorful smiles and happy colors. yes, some happiness is nice, but im still mad about kits redesign, wheres her flour sack dress! that was not made out of a flour sack!

problem two: girls of the year. they are running out of ideas! a second gymnast, really? im tired of the endless roulette of white girls! none of these girls stand out! they all have the same hobbies, and appeal to the same declining demographic of rich white girls. understandable, since the prices have ballooned so much people who arent rich arent buying them these days. each goty seems no different from the last. the current goty is both a gymnast and a horse girl. that is a desperate bid to tackle demographics. theyve done those a million times, the gymnast was mckenna back in 2012? and horses twice with nikki and sage. a horse does sell well, i always wanted a horse, but they really need to do something else. i honestly havent been paying much attention to recent gotys, but corinne and kavi were fantastic! the asian american representartion was great! but now the year after them, we are back to a white gymnast horse girl. im not privy to their sales, but i wish there were more diverse characters. but since the audience is mostly white rich moms who got mad at one of the characters having lesbian aunts, im not surprised they keep making them. i just want there to be more diversity!

id write more but my phone lags really really badly when using tumblr for too long. i have so many thoughts i didnt even get to truly me dolls but i dont have much to say about them honestly theyre fine

i was very obsessed with ag as a child, id spend hours looking through the catalogues at the pretty merchandise. i also followed their other endeavors like the self help and craft books. i was a fan in elementary school, 2010-2016 so that influences my opinions bc idgaf abt anything outside of that time frame

my fave dolls: kit (i have her! shes in just a coat since all my clothes are put away), julie, addy, rebecca (her collections the prettiest), nellie (shes the prettiest. also gwen but theyre identical with pretty hair), cecile and marie-grace, kanani, chrissa, mia, and LANIE. im so mad i was too young for lanie shes always been my favorite. faves are also heavily influenced by their books, lanies books are really comforting to me. i wanted to be her so bad as a kid! okay im sleepy i worked myself up lol. thank you for asking i love talking about it

I wanna set you fire

This is one of the main characters from Beastly Bordello! Her name is Mackenzie.

First thing first yall, the body, it’s very interesting i know. I had a phase. Dont judge me. Tbh if i ever go back to this project I might redesign her. At least her body proportions because now that i'm looking at it this is kind of wild. Anyways, if you’ve read the other bios you might know that our “monsters” started out very human. I mean she is literally just a human with a fire head. So we changed a little bit of it when I redesigned everyone. Her silhouette is still human but now she is made out of rock.

Oh and Mackenzie is a pure blood (pure bloods are those who originate from the “tribes” fire, metal, or bone). So she is considered royalty. Before she had a royal blue swimsuit. But now i've changed it so her fire is blue. I know big brain move. A little bit about Mackenzie even though she is “royalty” she doesn’t have access to all the benefits. Her story is on some rapunzel type shit where she is isolated from everything. And her parents have all the power (over her and the kingdom). She just stays in her room all day and builds things or melts materials together. Oh yeah and if you couldn't tell her parents are assholes.

The pure bloods have rivalry between each other (the bone tribe doesn't really exist anymore due to...you know). So it’s just fire vs metal constantly. Which means that Mackenzie and Jia are always fighting each other when they get to “The Brothel” (Not an actual one more like a factory or farm). Anyway Mackenzie is very sweet and motherly, she is always kind to every human she sees and tries to help them (even if they are afraid of her oop). Later on in the story we have it so that Mackenize and Debbie kind of form a sisterly bond. When she was at home she had no power but now that she is at “The Brothel” (again not an actual one) she wants to take control. She wants to solve everyone's problems, she makes herself the backbone of her new found family.

Except for Jia. She hates Jia. and Jia hates her.

And i think it’s funny so i'm not going to change it.

There’s of course more to her story but ill go into that later.

HI OK SO due to no specification im just gonna info dump on a bunch of them that have been stewing around in my brain

ok so firstly ill talk about Dr. Malcom Ransom cuz hes one of the few characters i have for completely original stories that i actually still like

i dont like his current design tho so ill be redesigning him soon

here is he btw

anyway, dr malcom here is a high end robotics engineer who runs his own company RansomWare (very ironic) who also works with body modification and prosthetics

RansomWare is a really well known company and his robots are literally everywhere

kinda like elijah kamski from dbh

as you can probably tell by his current design with his arms and legs being prosthetics, he's been in some freak accidents

or maybe he just did that on purpose as hes always hated how soft and squishy the human body can be

and anyway with his current mostly robotic body its easier to do his work

on the darker side ig, hes completely aware of whatever his robots see and hear

he gets daily reports on all of it and scans through it all to make sure nothing is wrong with his bots conditions

on to fan ocs cuz those are plentiful and i like talking about them

for now im just gonna talk about Chasm and Captain Rivers who are from completely different fandoms

this is Chasm

specifically Chasm-56

hes an exo warlock from destiny 2

mans been through alot as hes one of the first exos made in Braytech since he used to be a scientist there that was researching on how to even go about making humans into exos

of course, he doesnt really remember that

or anything at all about his past honestly due to many many many deaths that lead to his memory deteriorating

he doesnt even remember if he was ever human since as his memory deteriorated, he started acting more robotic than human

fun fact: most of his deaths were from the crucible or from "accidents" within fireteam related missions

moving on from that we have Captain John Rivers, who is my latest character that i made out of my own mental illness

if my recent posts dont make it obvious, hes an oc for the 1988 rendition of treasure island

hes a naval captain stationed in bristol

he kinda works like a priveteer tbh as he usually patrols bristol and look for pirates on their way for treasure so his crew can "intercept" that

he also used to be a doctor and kinda works as his own ship doctor as well

most of his voyages usually end in gathering up medicinal herbs and learning something new about the medical field tbh

when it comes to his own health, hes rather conscious about others checking on him or trying to treat him

will usually just deal with whatevers going on with him in silence and treat himself

if hes able to of course

this is mostly cuz he cant be too sure about those around him as he has a bit of a target on his back so its best to take care of it himself instead of risking the possibility of someone making it worse

he also has this weird thing going on where he knows about

literally everything going down on his ship

fun fact: he doesnt wear a powdered wig

he just oils his hair and powders it to dye it white as a powdered wig would be rather bothersome for him to deal with

1.YES kish/ichigo! the thing is. I GET it, and I don't really care if other people ship it obv (esp since ppl are adults these days in the fandom at large and shipped it as kids, I get that its a nostalgia thing for a lot of ppl, or has an interesting post-canon dynamic?)

what I do hate is that kishigo shippers tend to throw my fav best boy masaya under the bus, or make him wildly ooc, or just generally hate on him. :( thankfully I see that a lot less these days as again a lot of ppl are adults and more mature abt it (and I am generous with the block button for ppl who arent, lmao) but back in the day it was painful and everywhere. like, even if im a masago fan, I LIKE kisshu as a character and find him interesting, and even if I DIDNT u wouldnt see me putting chara hate for him in the main tag! thats tacky! some ppl need to learn character analysis fr because how are they looking at the same characters I am!!!

kishigo just isnt For Me, its a lil icky even putting all of that aside but the way the fans of it acted years ago made it my association with the ship even worse. I dont think ill ever be able to look at it w/out cringing bc of that lol 🤷‍♂️

2....its not exactly a NoTP, but I dont really care for any pai ships I've seen either, but thats just bc I dont super love him as a character (I am so sorry to my sister if she ever sees this, he is her fav tmm boy x_x)

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

OHHH this is a hard one. the question specifies 'show' but I'm gonna actually answer for the series as a whole (manga, old show, new show)

I'd probably change the new series to keep the old series' lore about the mew aqua rod being an ancient alien artifact instead of being a masha form (...because this lines up with my fanfiction, no other reason, actually, lol)

2. For the old series, no panty/bust shots. those are awkward and bad, and the new show did better w that, at least imo.

3. make the new show longer. we know its at least getting a season 2, but cmon. give me like 7 seasons. stretch it out, add brand new filler eps with focus on each chara, no need to rush, give us lots of new mew content, don't be shy about merch, either... 👀 and add berry and ringo, too... (in a perfect world, season 3 will be made and feature berry, and ringo would get an OVA or movie situation.)

4. more alien lore!!!! anything. give us crumbs we deserve them (I also really wanted alien redesigns like the girls got tbh! even if I kinda like the old mew designs better, I still wouldve liked to see smth new for the aliens anyway)

5. MORE OUTFITS. always want more Fashione for the gals

im probably going to be hated for this, for absolutely no reason, but-

i looked at lavendertownes redesigns of the hazbin hotel character's, and in my mind, i fought "damn, these look ugly", but i also shouldn't think that, because lavendertowne hasnt done proper research, and hasn't fully watched the show, before she redrew them (well i think those, because i haven't seen her video on redesigning the hazbin hotel character's, and i only know about this, from the commentery (cant spell properly.) side of youtube.

i also drew these mostly, because i was bored, and not to exactly hate on lavendertownes designs, even tho i did just type in, that i think some of her redesigns look abit ugly (especially angel dust's redesign she did.) and because i just felt like doing this for fun. (i feel the twitter users are going to hate me for this, or probably think im lying, when im not. also please dont come after me twitter, im just an artest, thats just doing what she loves doing. wich is drawing.)

well anyways, i randomly desided to redesign her redesigns, while still tryna keep in parts of lavendertownes redesigns in.

i was actually going to try and do these redesigns in the poses lavendertown drew them in, for all of them, but then i decided not to, when sketching niffty.

anyways- i wanted to try and keep in the fact that her redesign of alastor was more of yellow, while still keeping it fully red, but because orange exists, it kinda looked strange, so i didn't do it. again, since i didn't watch her video, i dont know what she was going for, where i put the white part, of the design, that was near his tie. other than all of that, alastor in this, just looks like alastor with a weird ear design, and in a different outfit. i also changed alastors hair abit, to match lavendertownes hair design, while still keeping in the deer parts. also another thing, was that i was to lazy to give alastor shoes, so i just drew hooves, instead.

next up i drew niffty. i desided to keep in the horns, and change it up alittle. i also kinda colored in the horns, kinda like how female hellborn imps horns look like, in vivzipops version of hell. for the hair, i dont know what i was doing, when i was drawing the part of pink hair, that is around nifftys cheek, but i couldn't get myself, to get rid of it, so its just- there. another detail with the hair, is that i made a pink and yellow pattern at the back, and i made a part of her hair a darkish pinkish redish color because i kinda liked the idea. and i also kept the white pupil, and changed some of the pink on her outfit, to black. basically i drew niffty in that way, to be a mix of her actual design, and lavendertownes.

oh yeah, i also kept in the splotches from nifftys cannon design, in.

anyways, for vaggie, i feel like i coulda done better (mostly her hairstyle.) but other than that, i desided to use the dark blue, lavendertowne used when she was shading vaggies hair, and i also kept the design of how she drew in the sleeves. also instead of making the outfit white, like how she did, i made it the vivzipop reddish pink colour, and i made the buttons on the outfit, the dark bluish grayish colour, because i fought that the buttons being two separate colours would be intresting. other then those, i made her socks (i think thats what they are.) pink, white and that darkish blueish gray colour, because i felt like it.

also i should say that, vaggie is not finished, since i still need to add in the highlights, that ive added onto the other ones.

anyways, i woulda done all of em, but im not gonna do them all in one go.

also, i have no idea if im going to beable to mix angel dusts cannon design, with lavendertownes redesign, but when i get to him, ill try to.

anyways, im not gonna tag this, so have fun finding this, you insane hazbin hotel fans, and insane twitter users. (if you do find this. again, please dont hate me, for doing this.)

JOHN: i just never gave it much playing time before because...

JOHN: well, i guess i always had better things to do.

JOHN: years ago i found it in a store on the bargain rack.

JOHN: it was only a dollar! isn't that awesome?

JADE: but i will play it with you today because it is technically your birthday <3

JOHN: yesss. you won't be disappointed.

JADE: how many people did you get to play this??

JOHN: um, i don't know.

JOHN: i only showed it to a few people, but i guess hundreds are playing it now?

JOHN: nobody is very good at it though.

JOHN: i keep trying to tell the salamanders and chess guys not to cross the streams, but they keep crossing the streams!

JOHN: just between you and me, i think a lot of them aren't very bright.

JADE: why cant you cross the streams?

JOHN: jade, please.

JOHN: it is just something you can't do when you're a ghost buster, because it spells big trouble. everyone knows that.

JADE: what about that fire pole there?

JADE: im pretty happy with him

JADE: and then i kind of merged with her when i became a god tier

JADE: its more like im still the me i always was, but inherited some of her memories

JADE: but they are pretty vague

JADE: none that we know of now

JADE: that i can remember at least

JADE: they feel like such distant memories, like they were barely real

JOHN: by the way you were describing it, i really thought we would dream about them on this trip more often!

JADE: yeah me too

JADE: maybe its something about this place were traveling through?

JOHN: i dunno.

JADE: when was the last time you visited one in your sleep?

JOHN: man...

JOHN: that was weeks ago, i think.

JADE: yeah

JOHN: and then, when i do dream about them, it's just kind of weird.

JOHN: either i'm alone in my own memory, talking to figments of my imagination...

JOHN: or i dream about someone we know. like a troll we have talked to, and i get excited.

JOHN: but then it turns out they don't know who i am! it's like a version of them that died before they ever even knew us, and it's just kind of awkward.

JADE: yup

JOHN: and i still haven't seen dave or rose AT ALL.

JOHN: have you?

JADE: nope :(

JOHN: yeah.

JOHN: i'm starting to think it's not going to happen. i wonder if we're just not sleeping at the same times?

JADE: i dont think thats it

JADE: for one thing, considering where we are, i dont think theres such a thing as "the same time" for us

JOHN: do you think the afterlife is just fucking with us, jade?

JADE: but its probably more like the way it used to be with the clouds in skaia

JADE: they didnt always show you things, but when they did they were selective about what they would let you see

im sorry for not posting art in awhile, irl things

... im homeless! but it wont be too long.. or will it? who knooowwwws,, 🐌

my laptop is alsoooooo... experiencing problems, keyboard wont work, wont turn on unless plugged up, and allat crap.... i cant play patapon (heart brokn😔), i cant play... some roblox games now, but thatsss fine... i guess (i havent logged onto roblox for days)

art... er, i have not finished any of the art pieces i WAS working on, but i am trying to get back into animations (seeing that ibis paint has an animation feature now)

ive been kinda avoiding social media, i like going onto it when i have something to post (like art, most of de time), and when i dont? er... 🚪 (ive just been avoiding opening twitter because i have no ART!!!)

i rarely post text posts like this because WOW!! anxiety!

but now that i think about it.. i shouldnt care too much?? but i feel the need to redesign comet.. (I STILL .NEED TO REDESIGN KAYOPON'S MASK what was i thinking .what is that. what was i thinking of?????? maybe its like a crown or something?? but thats dumb........ anyway the new mask will be likee.. a flower, yeah, i already made one mask for kayopon)

fun fact! my oc, Raide, used to be Wayyyyy different.

(ID: two drawings is two different art styles.

the first one is a drawing of a person with pale skin and yellow eyes and short, spiky, yellow hair, holding a sun shaped mask and wearing a red dress.

the second has two characters, one has black and white skin and straight light blue hair, and the other has desaturated green skin with curly dark blue hair. End ID.)

Raide, the light blue haired girl in the right image, is the current design of the character, Rai, the yellow haired person in the left image, is their old design.

see, Rai was made Years ago, as just.. a cosplay idea? i guess? i wanted a reason to make a cool mask, so i made him. (never made the mask lmao.) but then i Never did anything with her, and thats boring, so a year or so ago, i went "hey what if i turned them into a twili oc?" so she got his first redesign.

(ID: a drawing of a person with black and white skin, with glowing pink markings, and short light blue hair that flows backward. End ID.)

thus this design was born. honestly i dont hate this design at all! i think its pretty solid, all things considered, i just. hated trying to draw that hair, which is when i changed it to be the weird style it is now. from here there were just some slight tweaks to his design, shifting some of the black markings around mainly, changing the hairstyle of course, adding the big ol' ears, and a very simple name change and bam, we have todays version!

calen went through a similar design change, but.. it feels more drastic to me just because of how long i had the character and because of his origins, but maybe ill explain that in a different post.

anyways, hope this was interesting! i just find it neat looking back and going "damn. they were so different back then-" and seeing how far they've come.

This whole post is a comparison of Isane-the-shiny, aka my older version of this blog, to its resurrection MetalGoneMeta

First things first, im sending development for this blog into motion. And although everyone who saw and i interacted with under the Isane-the-shiny/-and-muses usernames are now 2 years+ inactive and/or archived, i feel its best to put up the similarities and differences between then and now both for their sake should it be of interest as well as to give myself a blueprint for resurrecting under Metalgonemeta.

To those whos blogs i did invade, I do apologize. I will say that i have improved since then.

(Also SHOUTOUT TO THOSE WHO ACTUALLY RESPONDED DESPITE THEIR OWN RULES /pos Istg i look back on this Invading copy and paste ask with HEAVY cringe, but I also remember feeling so ballistically happy seeing the “X answered your ask” notification. I hope all is well for you ^^)

Back to this list of how things were, pretty much said above but to put it shorter and more organized, Back when i ran IsT/IaM i was very Invasive and i was unaware of boundaries. And this was mostly due to it being back when i was about 14-15. (Im an Adult now dw ^^”)

Lastly and pretty much the only last changes and differences… Isane, the Metang OC of this blog, Is getting a name change and Overhaul. This is primarily for finding purposes ig? Basically, There is a character from a different fandom i follow, Bleach, with a character of the same name. (If anything i legit just stole the name cuz i liked Isane lmao). I do not have a new name decided *yet, but am actively searching so i can get it set in stone for the blog. And in terms of the actual overhaul, im going to look into updating, aka giving, her lore as well as (likely the only thing anyone i interacted with gave a shit about if at all) a redesign. Whether im going to turn her into a default blue and silver metang, or my Orrian Metang design is also still to be decided (you can find said design here )

Metalgonemeta (2023 onward)

Now all the big stuff i will admit is under the previous section by accident and ive noticed this post is getting pretty lengthy so ill try to keep this section short and to the point.

MGM is likely going to be identical to ItS in the fact it will still be an Indie NonSelective Blog. Though if i wanted to label every applicable term i found to give a better idea of what itll be: Indie, Pokemon/Metang OC, Based on Canon events that happened in both the mainline pokemon games as well as Pokemon Colosseum/GoD:XD, though will likely focus mainly on Unova B2W2* in writings.

Now i will say, factually in my stance, i should NOT go around peoples inboxes all wild andlikely childish. Even if i didnt make the other person uncomfortable, there were cases where i did make some uncomfortable… likely those who had stated mutuals only and yet here i was, a complete stranger banging on the ask box. Im probably going to just stick with those who interact with me first because of this and keep me going into inboxes at a minimal (i.e posted staters, prompts, etc.)

Kinda to keep parallel with the previous section, in terms of age rating im thinking ill have this blog be 18+. Not because of any mature material (if anything this blogs gonna be pretty sfw since its a gd METANG) but to avoid any uncomfortable complications regarding me, an 18y/o adult interacting with teens/minors of any age tumblr allows (I dont know what to even think of this cuz i just turned 18 not too long ago so from what ive heard i shouldnt have to worry about this type of stuff in the way say a 24y/o should), im just deciding in the hopes to just avoid any complications just keep the 18y/o me in the 18+ audience.

And that about wraps up all there is in terms of blog comparisons.. this was mostly focused on the blog technichalities and i will look into setting up a accessable Rules and About page when i get everything set up and can move onto a theme.

Im sorry this was so long but i felt it was best to post this now while everything i want to do is still fresh in my mind.

mlp redesigns are popular on tiktok again and since my kid went back to school i had some free time and decided to fix and alter some things that i would have liked to see in the show Some redesigns are so wild it's basically a new OC in place of the old character. I rly did like the designs and back stories for g4, a lot of it makes sense. This was basically an au? Minor differences

Twilight: I know why they didn’t give her this style and instead gave it to her mom, since they lost the rights to the original twilight, but her hair she got was so dumb. i dont like most of the hair in the show tbh, so she gets her curly hair back. and just changing one color made her entire pallet less dark. it also bothered me that alicorns were now some mythical special magic thing? that completely omitted an earth pony from ever achieving? nah, born an alicorn and still has to learn friendship. Lets be real, her magical girl transformation to alicorn did nothing; shes the same character whos still bumbling along figuring out how to be a friend. she could have been an alicorn the entire time and it wouldnt have changed anything. Fluttershy: i loved that they made her an omage to Posey, but they also then gave her parents that look nothing like her... theres a happy middle ground somewhere. its also weird that she was a pegasus with an earth pony skill set and sucked at flying? shes a unicorn now, make Posey her mom.

Rarity: I want her to look somewhat related to her family? she doesnt have to look completely different to have her talent. so i made her look a little more like Sweetybelle, and i liked the idea of her having the single pink streak in her hair and treating it like a grey streak and having her style around it. I also hated how many episodes were dedicated to how useless of a unicorn she was because of her talent? absolutely hated that and people still say it evne though she proved that wasnt the case over and over. so now shes just an earth pony. I dont think she needed he magic basically ever.

Rainbowdash: I thought about making her pink instead of blue to reference FireFly who shes based off of, but honestly no, i love her design, i just hate that she still has long hair when it creates drag and her goal is to be the fastest so she can be a wonder bolt? doesnt make sense. Normalize short haired girls. Also they really easily could have made her a trans girl and it wouldnt have been a stretch at all. The pegasus thing made sense for the show, but i find it really odd that the ONLY time disabilities are mentioned in this gen was in movies that were considered non-canon to the time line. so disabled and unbothered by it. AppleJack: Same qualm with the hair being long when it works against their skill set and jobs. Give her the G1 bob back, her and spike are the only ones they kept rights to and still gave her dumb hair to make her more girly. Also, they made a big deal about her being related to appleoosa ponies but didnt make her look like it, so i gave her the appaloosa butt and freckles. Also her g1 butt bow to tie up her tail. that i feel like could be kept long (to swat flies) and make sense and she could just wrap it in a bun for work. I know her hat was important, i just forgot to draw it.

PinkiePie: I wish they had kept her a pegasus, it would have made sense. and again with the family not even remotely matching her, i wish they had added in grandma surprise and had an episode about how the rock family is the odd ball out in her family tree not just her. Also she absolutely would over accessorize, you know she would jingle when she walked! ill die on this hill. also i thin, she would use hoof polish like Rarity
