i was wondering what kind of circumstances could lead the other ghosts to pass on, and i thought about humphrey in particular.

i imagine humphrey mentioning that he doesnt know if he can move on, considering he's lived hundred of years without any kind of fulfilment (due to the whole 'he has no body and is usually ignored' thing). and the ghosts are feeling charitable, so they make it their mission to try and help him find it.

and they totally and utterly fail. they bicker constantly about the best way to help humphrey (thomas wants to ghostwrite a book about his tumultuous love life, kitty thinks they should do couples counselling for humphrey and his head, julian is entirely unhelpful) while the captain frantically tries to coordinate their response. but they're completely unproductive and humphrey's an awkward spectator the whole time. but they eventually come up with a masterplan (read: disasterplan) to try and Help Humphrey With His Soul Searching.

and that masterplan fails too, because everything goes wrong and silly as per usual, no matter how hard the ghosts try. but to their shock, despite the nonsense, humphrey sees the light- and he gets sucked off.

and the ghosts are shocked. they run to alison, asking for any kind of idea why it happened. and she suggests something simple: that even though they failed, they cared enough to try. and maybe that was enough.

because really, that's all humphrey ever wanted. after a lonely life and a lonely death, he needed someone to care about him. and they finally did.

✦ starting with wally, I think he fits pomefiore. I mean— have you SEEN this man? He is beauty, he is grace and he will eat your face if you ever insult his hair. His name is Wally Darling for a reason, gotta look ready and pretty if you're a darling after all.

✦ I feel like Howdy would be in either Scarabia or Heartslabyul. Why Scarabia? Howdy is a shopkeeper so he's probably resourceful and knows the ways in business, he just seems like a pretty reliable and responsible guy.

✦ As for Heartslabyul, you cannot tell this mfer isn't Trey Clover but caterpillar. I may be wrong but he just gives me a lot of Trey Clover vibes so I feel the need to just— throw him into heartslabyul

Strange Aeons LotR crackfic

Twas the year 2015 and Frodo “The Skull” Baggins was in the bathroom dying his hair to be eboney black. After his parents had died in a beetroot farming accident he’d gone goth. Sadness and death were his new parents. Frodo was currently wearing a black nightgown draped over his shoulders so he didn’t dye his skin. He flicked his wet dye soaked hair off his forehead as the bathroom door opened. 

In walked his boyfriend Sam the Killer. Sam was 4 feet tall and wearing black skinny jeans, a MCR band shirt with the sleeves cut off over a long sleeve black mesh shirt. Many gothic tattoos could be seen through the mesh but the most eye-catching was Sam’s teardrop tattoo underneath his eye.

Hey Babey, said Sam. They pashed passionantley. Gloopy dye smushing into Sam. The Skull pulled away from Sam’s embrace, his dark orbs penetrating into his sole with sadness and despair. I need ta wash this shit out first, sorry babette, The Skull dropped his silk lace black nightgown to the ground and stepped into his ice cold shower, but his soul was colder. Sam’s eyes eyed The Skull’s shredded torso as he bathed underneath the stream of water. The Skull had a massive tattoo covering his back, it was like angel wings but instead of feather it was bones (authors note: pretty goff right).

Once The Skull’s hair was pitch blak and clean they began passionantye making out again. They went to their gothic bedroom with had dark purple walls covered in goff band posters and a black lacey blanket and a black shaggy carpet in the shape of a skull. They went on the bed and did you know what (an: im not a perv okay!!!!)

The next morning they awoke to a loud knocking outside their bedroom. They hastily pulled the quilt up to cover their bodies, their small heads peaking out of the top of the bed.

In walked Strange. Strange was also a hobbit who was gothic. She had met The Skull and Sam at an goth band concert that was held in The Shire. Strange has short gothic hair and a skull chain around her neck and big boots that made her taller than the other hobbits. Gandalf was also there, towering over Strange. He was no longer known as Gandalf the Grey but Gandalf the goth. He had a long balk robe with a slit up the side showing off his pale with smooth skin, covered in satanic symbols. His big hat was now replaced with an emo beanie and his long fringe poked out of it covering one of his eyes. 

Get up losers, he yelled at The Skul and Sam. The two jumped out of bed, exposing themselves to Strange and Gandalf whose eyes were offended by the ripped hobbit that was The Skull. The naked hobbits were soon clothed in the closest cool clothes.

The all sat down for first breakfast at the table. Gandalf explained while sipping on a goblet of blood that they needed to travel across middle earth and defeet the head prep, Golum, who’d been gathering an army of preps and posers to take down the goffic haven of The Shire. As they ate their black pancakes and blackberries they agreeded with Gandalf and the four woud travel to go defeat Golum and his army.

They packed their favourite band shirts, some drugs and their mp3 player and left the shire with their satchels covered in gothic patches. The other hobbits made pentagons with the hands and flipped them off as they left the Shire.

tldr; I think I would like Bare: The Musical as a standalone story, but as a Bare: A Pop Opera adaptation/re-interpretation I think it falls short in a lot of ways.

okay no but the photographic memory detail is kinda interesting. kinda sad in a lot of ways too if you think about it

i feel like they definitely tried to recycle a bit of the early versions of the Father Flynn storylines for Father Mike here - like they don’t explicitly go for the queer angle but it feels a little bit alluded to, imo

oh. okay. it was certainly A Watch - definitely interesting! full of odd character choices I didn’t love, most notably the basketball team and the way that side plot played out, also the merging of Nadia & Lucas’ characters. I think it does a huge disservice to Nadia’s character, the McConnell twins relationship, Nadia & Peter’s relationship, & I like Lucas as a character (& a plot device) so it really feels like a lose-lose situation. And I would’ve liked to have Peter’s mother at least alluded to, especially given how much more Sister Joan seems to fill a motherly role (and it would’ve made sense thematically! Given his hypothetical conversion with Jason’s mother in You & I, coupled with Diane’s whole spiel about her mom being her best friend - it’s a missed opportunity imo) (even tho as established for this characterisation of Peter it’s not quite so necessary)

that said! credit where credit is due - I am supremely intrigued by the characterisation of… okay most of the cast now I’m thinking about it. Would definitely like to do a comparative character breakdown (let me know if anyone else would care for that at all).

Emo puppy dog Matt Lloyd you are so special (it’s such a silly way to play him!! the show all but eliminates the academic part of his and Jason’s rivalry and THAT makes me sad bc I think it would be so so interesting to play into the rivalry more with this Matt and this Jason - but the way Matt & Ivy’s relationship exists in this version of the show, the absolute lack of any academic focus At All [which?? like they are At School, that SHOULD count for something] and even the play part feels somewhat lacklustre in so regards to the Matt vs Jason element, which again I think is a mark against B;TM)

as I said above - I think I would like Bare: The Musical as a standalone story, but as a Pop Opera adaptation/re-interpretation I think it falls short in a lot of ways. Which is another point - it’s so so crazy to me that The Musical is the adaptation of the Pop Opera, not the other way around. Which kind of sucks! because I think making it into a book musical, not a sung-through show, does give a little more breathing room for character & relationship work and development, but it just seems ill utilised, to the point where it doesn’t even seem to match the Pop Opera, let alone improve/expand on it. Because all the extra dialogue time had to be spent on reordering the story beats so we ended up losing time with the characters in a way.

or at least that’s how it read to me - obviously I am not a professional reviewer/critic so don’t take my word for it, I just wanted to talk it out. or shout it out into the void, as my tumblr may be. if you read this whole thing?? shoutout to you, I love you <3

What kind of first impression do you think you make on people? It's literally never the same impression. I feel like shy and quiet is probably the main one but sometimes it'll be loud and chaotic, charmismatic and funny, I've also gotten told I'm confident a lot which is wild.

i think the closest thing i have to comfort characters is like. Sierra and Samaël but both of those are d&d characters so idk if they count. let's also say Gideon Nav, which is a healthy and sane comfort character

hehe so polar opposite of hugslug then... hugslug has many images and no lore. mack has no images and an okay amount of lore. alright letsgo. so my guy mack is an angel (i went googling so his name is actually short for macroprosopus but like if you ask him he'll say its short for something you Cant pronounce and He doesnt care to try to. anyway). his deal works best if i explain my other guy mortys deal because they are gay do not separate, but ill do my best to explain it without their deal.

anyway hes not. fallen but he decided that he wanted to fuck off to go hang out in the mortal world and he causes so many problems on the daily that none of his fellow angels really contested him on this theyre just like god please get out of our house. anyway being a fish out of water/deserter he does get some drawbacks like a bit of a handicap on his immortality. so hes Sort of immortal in the "only dies if killed" variety but even when he does get killed whatever deific system exists in my brain doesnt want to deal with him so he just gets sent right back, albeit at a random time and place.

anyway mack really doesnt mind this because he, is a being of pure hedonism! hes a prankster and a shitdisturber and while hes having fun its mostly fucking around w mortal people that he can never really relate to but he thinks are terribly interesting (as well as their reactions to his bullshit). also his whole Maliciously Lackadaisical attitude is only helped by the fact that dying is basically just a get out of jail free card for him, so while a normal mortal person would have enough fear of death to learn the valuable lesson of talk shit get hit, mack fucks shit up Way beyond the bounds of stupidity because 1. its not like these people's problems are going to matter on an even remotely widespread scale anyway (and really why would he care if they did) and 2. its not like they can really punish him for his actions because he's got nothing to lose, babey!

so i gave him something to lose!

somewhere along the line he manages to run into another person just as immortal as he is (thats my "god wont let me die because im already dead" skeleton grandpa morty who ill talk abt later but just know theyre my favorite <3) and both of them realize how Terribly Lonely theyve been in their own ways (morty gets too attached to the mortal people they meet and kind of Have to distance themself to not get hurt. this does not work.) (meanwhile mack as previously mentioned has never been able to relate to mortal people at all and distances himself somewhat by assholery but also somewhat just by Being Immortal) and now that they have someone they can care about and love without any fears or pretenses, they can't afford to lose each other. sooo basically mack has to clean up his act and Not get himself killed because he cant just run away from his problems now

(now heres a spoiler mack does die. a lot. but what makes me more emo is that morty is just flat out unkillable immortal so this basically means that there Is an unspoken agreement that no matter how far back, forwards, away or close mack ends up, morty will always be there waiting for him. morty's his sole rock in the stream of time and im EMO ABOUT IT!! also since morty spends so much time listening to others and paying attention to the little things while mack has all these stories of wild ass events he's seen over the times and places they both can just trade stories back and forth and rub off on each other and they have all the time in the world to listen and make new ones and wauu)

i think?? thats all ive got on mack so far?? apart from the fact that with morty hes like. still a being of chaos but a domesticated shitdisturber yknow. instead of causing a war every sunday he mixes and matches clothes from all sorts of time periods just to confuse people and grows an obscene amount of eyes just to tell morty that he only has eyes for them (which morty thinks is corny and delightful)
