So because my birthday falls in September although I’m 19 years old I’ve only lived through 18 summers and in my family at the autumnal equinox following your 18th summer there’s a big celebration.

This is because in my family the marking of your 18th summer officially starts your training to be a Gothi (a kind of spiritual leader) and because my siblings have little interest in it it’s always been understood that eventually it will fall to me despite me being the youngest so I was given gifts to start me off on this journey.

Many of which I cannot show on here as they are handmade talismans and such that hold importance in my family but I can show off one of them which is a handmade hand bound leather book. Every part of it is hand made even the paper inside.

My parents had it hand made by a local pagan blacksmith/leather worker who’s a family friend of ours. And he gave us a hand made pencil as a gift of his own!

I would’ve mentioned this sooner as the equinox was late September but I got caught up in other things.
