Every so often I see a TGCF fan post how they wish they had a Hua Cheng—someone who loved them wholeheartedly.

But the entire point of Hua Cheng is not to just to love. Yes of course it would be nice to have a Hua Cheng to look after you and care about you.

You can’t wait for a Hua Cheng. Everyone wants one but only Xie Lian—who never expects to deserve a Hua Cheng can receive one.

Instead, be the Hua Cheng you wish to see in the world. Find someone to love and love them with your whole being. Don’t expect to be loved—instead you must love for the sake of loving. I’m thinking about childhood best friends that had drifted apart. Eddie or Steve or Billy and how you’d go to eachother for the smaller things that needed comfort back when flashlights and having your blanket over your head was enough to make all the scary things go away and how you’d come together now for that same feeling of comfort as adults after the events of the upside down brought you back together. How you guys would be a foundation, a home, for the other.

Just a little baby blurb i wrote at 3 am.

It was the same answer you’d both found yourselves giving when the question of why was brought up.

Why are you here?

Why do you keep coming back?

Why me?

There’s something that acts as a balm when you’re together, stirring memories of a time when someone’s arms around you had been enough to fix everything wrong in the world, even if it was just for the short time you were together. You get a sense of it even now that the make believe monsters hidden in the closet had been traded for real ones lurking in the day.

The lights are off and the room is blanketed in darkness, you didn't need a light though, you’d found yourself here often enough you could navigate the room with your eyes closed.

Underneath your head you can feel the steady rise and fall of his chest, the rhythmic thrum of his heart beating against your ear in the same lullaby you’d been listening to since you were children taking solace in each others comfort, curled up then much in the same way you were now, arms wound tight around the other, sheltering one another from the world around you.

The arm under you squeezes you tighter, something small to let you know he’s still awake, still with you.

You respond by curling into his body more, your nose burying itself in the crook of his neck.

Everything seems frozen in moments like these when the darkness of the room makes his warmth leaching into your body the only real thing.

Because you feel like home.

This is just me ranting and rambling! It's 1am and I'm staring at my ceiling like a normal person!-

(This may be triggering for some peeps, I can't exactly put my finger on where and why but just.. Content warning! I'm being weird!-)

I feel the reason that I and some other fans of welcomehome have come to love welcomehome so much.. Is due to the fact of how bittersweet the concept seems to be. That's at least the story for me, I think?

On the outside its all comforting child-like imagery, it's puppets, it's imagination! Everything that should be part of a.. Well, children's puppet show right?? But underneath, it's disturbing and scary, it's horror, it's bittersweet almost. Does this make any sense??

As colorful and cute as it is, it's unsettling yet nostalgic, for me at least. Although I did grow up on puppet shows and they were my biggest comfort, so maybe this is just me?? Haha!

It's like that feeling of seeing one of those weirdcore images, or an abandoned place, and feeling as if it's incredibly farmilar in memory yet you've never been there before. Yet it feels so farmilar and homey, even though it's disturbing and distorted it's comforting. It feels close and farmilar, in some sort of deep suppressed memory I can't remember. There's just something about it that feels like home, in both a good and bad way. (To me, It kinda feels like the embodiment of suppressed early childhood trauma... But in a comforting way?????)

I'm probably thinking too much into it, huh?? I just really like puppets!- just some late night thoughts I thought I'd share, because I have.. Nothing else to do at the moment! Love yall!!💕💕💕

Im not above 'haha downpour sitcom' type jokes where the slugcats have personalities and talk to each other cause i think its cute but im very sympathetic to people who are upset thats what a lot of larger characterization of the slugcats are...

They aren't meant to be warrior cats or really like, Bambi-styled animals. Theyre more primal. And I get that animals that act as animals is sort-of a boring thing to work with unless you make a very particular flavor of fancontent but I do feel & miss the reduction in that more meditative, 'inhuman' type characterization

#its a lot easier to show emotion through the human methods than like. how animals tend to which is things like #'slightly moving ears back' or 'upper lip pulls up' #and the result is that everything feels a bit more... comical? #i cant even really talk cause *I* dont even stick to the stuff im talking about its just not what i tend towards artistically #but rainworld is such a reflective game that part of me is misses that aspect being a much much tinier part of fanwork now #^ i dont know if any of this even makes sense #im half asleep

Cjs stubbing his toe and then hopping around on the other toe while cussing loudly and stumbling into krs so that both of them tumbled down. On lsh. Who had iced coffee in his hands. So all of them were lying on the floor, sprawled over each other. 

"You both-"

Just then Raon poked his head out from the doorway

"Are papas flirting? 𓁹‿𓁹 " 

"No/Yes/No"

"....", lsh and krs stared at cjs with a deadpan expression as he beamed with joy and then started cackling like a maniac.

Krs and lsh stared into each other's eyes with equal amounts of exasperation and tiredness and then ??###@ 

Their lips pressed against each other. Krs looked into lsh's dumbfounded eyes and sighed internally. Cjs who had suddenly pressed their heads together gave one last cackle, "You both looked like you were dying to kiss~" 

"That's it. Hyung, you will find yourself one husband short by the end of the day."

"Oi oi oi why?!! No stapp-", in his haste to get away cjs had forgotten about his stubbed toe and fell down again. 

Lsh looked away from krs kicking cjs and titled his head back and found that their audience of one had increased to three. 

Raon stared at the spectacle in front of him and tugged Ohn's sleeves, "Noona I asked them if they were flirting and they refused and then started kissing? Is that not flirting? Are they stupid?"

Lsh felt the need to defend himself but realized that he had nothing to say and closed his mouth awkwardly. Ohn looked at him with pity and motioned Raon and Hong out of the door," Leave them to their adult games, Raon. Let's eat ice cream" 

Krs and cjs hadn't  noticed anything and continued squabbling and lsh slapped a hand over his face, mourning for his coffee and his ruined shirt. But hey, didn't he sign up for all of this when he decided to marry these idiots.
