LSWK’s an amazing character because you will meet people who lie and think they need to sacrifice everything about themselves to make others happy, someone who says “Well yea! I’m the best!” to cover up their mess and someone who doesn’t realize people genuinely care for them

He’s not “good guy, good mentor” — he’s flawed because he thinks he’s doing good up until he realizes he doesn’t have enough time and instead of communicating his problems he lies and tries to solve them all on his own and it’s good because — guess what? People do that! Real people will do that! Maybe someone will genuinely sit down to communicate problems and concerns but most of the time we bottle shit up and don’t come clean until we’re backed into a corner

He’s so morally grey and complex because he’s more than just a cheery person! He’s traumatized from so many points in his life and while his trauma could be lightened by letting go of Xiaotian so he can work on himself after the events of S3.. he doesn’t want to abandon Xiaotian! He wants to be a good mentor and protective figure to him!

He’s not a good guy! He’s not a bad guy! He’s just an immortal who’s had so much time on his hands but not enough moral support, not enough time to go through his trauma, not enough reassurance that he’s a good person and that being flawed doesn’t mean he’s a monster
