also btw that passage about media consumption as activism and the idea of "gayboring" (this post) are twin sisters to me because when you see media consumption as activism and therefore as a reflection of real life, any gritty or unsavory or "weird" aspects of any marginalized culture/community gets completely sanitized in favor of portraying an "ideal" form of that community in the eyes of consumerism (i.e.: boring and safe and non-confrontational)

as much as i understand and respect bottom kiryu truthers. ngl i personally think the most based and accurate dynamic is, generally, sub/service top kiryu and dom/power bottom majima. BUT ALSO. brat majima teasing and challenging kiryu enough to get him to snap and top the shit out of him. which is exactly what majima wants him to do and kiryu falls for it single every time because it’s virtually the same thing as luring him into a fight. you can not change my mind

I feel like your villain Artem is just Manfred von Karma or pre-character development Miles Edgeworth in Ace Attorney. Actually, quite a few antagonists in that series.
irt villain au, pt 2
oh yeah definitely lmaooo. i haven't really played the ace attorney games but like,, one google of these mfs and yeah i agree 😂
see, the thing with villain aus (imo) is that they depend on how flexible the original profession is in relation to 'villainous' counterparts. so like, for someone as shrouded in violence as luke is it's easier to create a villainous counter part bc he's already so close to villainy in the first place.
artem, on the other hand, isn't close to villainy at all. he's firmly planted on the side of good, there's no flexibility. he's rigid, which fits with his own characterization as well. being a lawyer is an incredibly narrow job that isn't flexible in terms of creating villains. it's why there's always a one or two tracked attorney villain creation. that's why villain artem would feel similar to pre-redemption edgeworth, or hell even ingrid roseworth too
it's also harder to place artem into aus because he's that rigid in his profession. you either have to completely reinvent what he is or you have to get creative!
i know you probably just meant this as an observation but i just ran with it bc when do i not want to tear artem apart analysis wise bdjdbfj
thank you for the ask nonnie!! <3

I know the Mario voice is all people are talking about, but something about the textures we saw in the trailer felt wrong to me.
Like the fabric looks way too.. real? It moves and folds with seams and weight relative to the material which is super impressive ! But it just doesn't look right paired with such cartoony designs :/

is it so unreasonable for me to not want dream to reap the “benefits” of being a part of the LGBT community (which in this case is getting a pass to make gay jokes or say slurs i guess) if he is not clear about whether or not he is a part of the LGBT community

SYNASTRY I WANT TO EXPERIENCE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a quick about how I wanted two specific synastry placements to happen to me and I figured I might as well make a post about all the synastry placements I really want to experience at some point. who knows maybe me just typing it out and posting it will get me exactly what I ask for
OVERLAYS
(these can go with either placements in my house or vise versa)
VENUS 1H
Mannnnn I just want someone to look at me and be like yeah that’s my type right there. But this placement doesn’t also have to be about physical appearance. Their mannerisms, their personality and how they present themselves to others match with your values and what you want in a partner.
MARS 2H
Maybe it’s cuz I’m a Taurus mars but by what I’ve heard about mars in 2H synastry I like the vibes. Working towards stability and being very sensual with your partner. Both partners can be very patient and slow to anger each other but the main downside would probably be holding grudges/ being petty with other when mad.
MARS/EROS/ 8H
I just want to feel intensely desired and yes I know that 8H overlays can be rough but listen most people in my life have their Pluto conjunct my moon and my chart ruler is the 8H so I might be a-ok than most people with this intense placement(s)
JUNO 1H
Technically I’ve had this before but I want it again and this time I want it to be mutual “love at first sight” vibe. And again this placement can be more than just a physical thing. its not just your ideal type you feel that this person is your ideal PERSON. you see each other as equals in partnership. and you can imagine marrying them.
JUNO 7H
I mean this ones pretty self explanatory. you'll want to marry this person for sure at some point or you at least think about it a lot. The romantic connection is there, it's so strong. And I just want to feel what that's like. (I aint getting married anytime soon tho. girl I'm 18)
DESTINN 6H
In my humble onion (that's a typo but Im not changing it) I think this can mean being destined to have everyday life with each other. Doing daily routines and having a groove and flow with your partner. I like that.
NATAL OR COMPOSITE
JUNO CONJ. VENUS
Love, devotion, all the feels. By what I've read there's so much loyalty and love between each other. The commitment is so strong. And typically Venus rules over love and Juno rules over marriage. so marriage indicator.
JUNO CONJ. JUPITER
Another for sure marriage indicator. Jupiter ruling over the husband and Juno being about marriage is so fitting as well. Perfect match. they influence and inspire each other.
JUPITER CONJ. MOON
So much affection, bliss, and joy in this. Cozy and content. You open each others mind and want to travel not only the world together but your emotions. theres potentially to overindulge in each other but a mature couple will figure out their boundaries and communicate them well with each other. nonetheless I would die for this placement. This is THE marriage placement imo because Moon = Wife and Jupiter = Husband.
JUPITER CONJ. VENUS
The abundance of love. The freedom Venus feels with Jupiter and the endless compassion the Venus makes an abundance of love.
COMPOSITE
LIBRA IN BIG 3/VENUS
Pretty sure this is also a sign of marriage. Usually balance in love. Just in ideal placement(s) to have in composite.
CANCER IN BIG 3/VENUS
I've talked about why I like composite cancer ring but honestly I'm fine with any of these placements being cancer. I want to feel like I've found someone who feels like home and quite literally build a home with someone.
TAURUS IN BIG 3/VENUS
I need stability in my life... that and its another Venus ruled sign and that’s always good for a composite chart.
12H SUN
Hear me out now 😭✋ I’ve technically experienced this one too but it never turned into an actual relationship and I saw him more as a quick fling. This placement isn’t bad cuz it’s in the 12H. I feel like with the right person it can still be challenging but also quite beautiful. Maybe this is my Pisces self wanting a deep soulful and spiritual connection with someone special. I mean I don’t mind regular 12H synastry so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Have you had any of these aspects/placements? What was your experience? 💋

I started shipping them out of nowhere. And tHEN I found out the ship ACTUALLY EXISTS?? I'm so happy. There are so many cute fanarts for it here on Tumblr. Here's my humble contribution
(Also throwing here my idea of Olimar being able to carry a smaller onion around as a backpack so the pikmin can accompany him out of PNF-404!)

i think edgeworth growing up was a lot thinner than he would be post trilogy. my fav headcanon is that when he gets to heal, he starts gaining weight and is more happy <3 i do agree that his frame is BIG tho like that man is WIDE. fridge man....
also im a firm believer that he DOES have a sweet tooth but its kinda embarrassed about it until a lot later, so yeah he doesn't eat a lot of sweets during the trilogy but post trilogy? happy eating sweets!!!!!!!
this is all just my humble onion though!!
tati how does it feel to be the smartest person in the world. I LOVE WEIGHT GAIN AS A METAPHOR FOR HEALING AND GROWTH <3333 i love secret sweet tooth edgeworth..... never thinks to get himself sweets but when presented with the option. may or may not choose it. depends on how much guilt he is repressing at the moment

I listened to every Beatles album in order so you dont have to and kept this record as I did. no one asked me to do this and honestly idk how I arrived at it it just sounded interesting after I exhausted the platters who I didnt think to record like this. also im at the point of school where you dont get homework anymore and I miss it so I made a report.
these are graded on a curve, that is, the ratings of each album are calculated in relation to the other albums. prior to this endeavor I had only heard the big beatles songs like in movies and on Wii rockband.
please please me: 3/5. highlight: twist and shout (sorry). lowlight: baby its you. thready ass vocals. leave it to people with talent with the beatles: 3/5. aesthetically identical to prev. highlight: you really got a hold on me. lowlight: please mr postman. why the fuck would you cover this. youre signing up to fail a hard day's night: 2/5. highlight: things we said today. lowlight: sadly, a hard day's night beatles for sale: im gonna keep it real. this sounds identical to albums 1-3 to me and I feel exactly no emotion about it at all. largely inoffensive. 2/5 help!: 3.3/5. highlight: help! killer bass. lowlight: the riff in I need you fills me with a burning, indescribable rage rubber soul: here we begin to experience the epic highs and lows of The Beatles discography. high highs: Norwegian wood and girl. low lows: literally everything else. 2/5 revolver: 3.5/5. these bitches finally woke up! highlight: I'm only sleeping, for no one, Eleanor Rigby is worth the hype, I want to tell you, tomorrow never knows. lowlight: dr robert -- flop attempt at satire. also whatever that one guy was doing to that poor sitar sgt pepper's: I came to a rude awakening when I realized that the wall would not exist without sgt pepper's. humbling. that being said, 0/5. I hated every single second of this. magical mystery tour: epic high following last album's epic low. 5/5. strawberry fields has a BASS DROP??!?!? no skips. I love this album. its such a time capsule as well of like one of the weirdest years in history. i can listen to this album and experience how my parents felt at 16. the callback to she loves you on the last track. I get it the white album: I dont get it. this album tested me like nothing else. I began to flag. I began to question the honor of my quest. I almost shut it off after nearly every song. but let me say: the highs are sweeping. SWEEPING. happiness is a warm gun. blackbird, Helter Skelter, while my guitar gently weeps, back in the ussr, revolution (which is satire which I just realized)... however, the lows are LOW. glass onion is bad; Julia is actually unlistenable (I broke and skipped it); wild honey pie is like getting a transorbital lobotomy; birthday has undone years of my therapist's work vis a vis suicidal ideation. Im so baffled by this I almost want to exclude it entirely. instead I calculated its good song to bad song ratio which landed the album as a whole at a solid D+ (69%)! but that seems like its ignoring the good songs which for any other band even ONE of those would be the song of their career. emotionally the experience was not unlike a bipolar mixed episode. 1/5 yellow submarine: this one was a movie soundtrack. something it has going for it is that it isn't the white album. 4/5 abbey road: yeah. 10/5. I cant even be flippant about this. you live a whole lifetime listening to this one. fine. let it be: set myself up to FAIL with this one. my dad was about to turn 18 the year this came out, which I only bring up because this is the only one of my dads beatles albums I kept. so of course I listened to the record and cried through let it be like a bitch. I like all the studio talking noise. 5/5 for sentimentality
rating overall: 43.8/65, about 66%. but I dont vibe w that honestly. I had a great time doing this and discovered some great music. I also cant ignore their historical significance and the insight it gave me into my parents' youth, which is probably the most interesting thing about the beatles. I choose to recuse myself from assigning a grade and instead, on a pass/fail scale, pass them.
reflection: they were so prolific in 10 years with wildly varying results, but it makes me feel like we need to all create more haphazardly and throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks instead of being so precious about it. because honestly, a monkey at a typewriter with that kind of output WILL eventually write something good. I also think it's the kill baby Mussolini principle in that even if you killed baby Mussolini there would still be the sociopolitical situation which gave rise to Mussolini. so if The Beatles never formed there would've been other band/s who evolved with the upheaval of the 60s who would now serve as this cultural touchstone. but this is what we got and thats quite interesting I think.
takeaway: I cant listen to another beatles song for at least 2 calendar years

Fellow ex-christian kid who's words were HEAVILY censored (I wasn't allowed to say something "sucks", "crap", or even call things stupid). By far one of the most validating things I ever learned is that "taking the christian god's name in vain" refers to stuff like claiming your own opinion or belief is actually biblical or claiming committing things like genocide in the name of the christian god. Basically doing evil and claiming it's divinely condoned. It does not, in any way, refer to teenagers saying coh my god". I felt very vindicated when I learned that after countless lectures.
yeah, at some point you realize that "taking _ in vain" isn't a phrase you hear anywhere else.
of course in the original, it doesn't refer to christianity but to judaism - but even that has some interesting roots behind it. (after spending most of my adulthood as an agnostic atheist, I converted to judaism ... and am still an agnostic atheist but with an asterisk and "it's complicated" lol) i like to read torah in as many ways as possible - commentaries, figuring out how people historically read it, and what the little we know from archaeology can tell us about how it was originally interpreted.
it is my VERY humble onion as a layperson (as always, i am not a rabbi, i don't speak for any other jewish people, etc etc) that most of the torah was written in the context of "other gods exist but aren't as cool as our god." idk, regional patron gods made a lot more sense once I started viewing them as analogous to mascots of their local sports team. like we don't believe those literally exist but we will still go fuckin crazy for em. i've never watched an entire football game but i do get a swell of pride and recognition whenever i see a packers logo
man im rambling. i think my point is that it's one thing for a modern religion to project its own meaning on the past (like how xtianity's trinity explains away the "we will make..." in genesis, which is indeed the plural - without the trinity, you wind up with a big theological question mark if you're married to the monotheism-has-always-been-true thing) is understandable and valid as far as that goes, but trying to figure out what the "original meaning" of the text is, that's a historical question more than a theological one imo. and it can be interesting and cool to try to figure it out, even if we'll never know the actual One True Answer. w/judaism i feel like there is so much more textual tradition of criticism that i can say more confidently that our modern interpretation is just as valid as ancient interpretation... i would feel less confident saying that about xtianity

No offense but maybe the least helpful thing people can do on a mental health support forum is discuss how calling ur disorder certain things is "cringe" especially when it's ....not even....that weird or cringe... like idk people are talking about if it's cringe to call anorexia "ana" on edsf and im like guys this is like the least helpful and most nonsensical discussion ever. I legit don't understand what is cringe about using a shortened version of a word.....like it's an abbreviation my guy what is cringe about that??? Like ??? You can't say "ana" because it's too cringe? That's so weird becaise I thought the hardest and most cringe part of the disorder was rhe whole not eating part 🤔🤔
Like this is a mental health support forum and yall out here dissecting the relevancy of people's discussion terms? Sorry, not helpful, in my extremely humble onion

dyou have any thoughts on desran (Descole x Randall)?
Hmm nope not really! I think it's funny in a cartoon-villain slapstick love/hate kind of romance... like doing an evil song and dance while seeking revenge together. But I personally couldn't ship it in earnest, I don't think they could ever be good for one another. love wins but im not sure life destroying manipulation of someone in a vulnerable mental state is a good meet cute in my humble onion.....the Descole and Masked Gentleman aesthetics together tho? 10/10
