These are my hcs for the og teachers, if you want to see the ones I have for my human AU too let me know :)

general hc for all of them: all of them dislike kids, except for Steak, and some of them suck at interacting with them.

Paige/Sketchbook:

-Their voice sounds a bit uninterested and annoyed in the first episode and I think they genuinely were.

-Got scared when things got weird. They weren't expecting all of that to happen.

-They're friends with almost all of the other teachers. They get along the best with Tony. They're a bit scared of Steak tho.

-They actually don't know shit about art, they just pretend to know💫

-They love to annoy Tony, they find it funny when he gets mad at them.

-They draw on themselves.

-They don't like using their legs most of the time, but they can. As seen in episode 6 they're just little black sticks like their arms.

Shrignold:

-More of a general hc but he worships the Malcom statue as a representation of the actual Malcom. Malcom is actually something among the lines of a God so he can't be seen or touched in reality.

-He has internalized homophobia, but he's gay himself. He just wouldn't act on it, it's against his beliefs.

-He's actually really good with kids. Thats how he got Yellow's "Special One" to join his cult.

-Doesn't mean he likes them, but he's an amazing manipulator.

-He will preach to anyone and I mean ANYONE, I do think he genuinely convinced Paige and Tony to join him by just talking with them.

-He's not aware of some of the creepy members of his cult (furry boy I'm looking at you) but he doesn't care either.

Tony:

-I actually posted a doodle of this but he hangs himself on the wall and behaves like an actual inanimate clock when he's mad at someone 💫

-That someone is Paige 80% of the time bc theyre annoying

-ANGER ISSUES

-Autistic!!

-He has no patience, asking him a question is like asking your dad to teach you math. He will yell, slam his hands against the table, get frustrated a hundred times and then he will apologize only if he feels like it.

-Not a good teacher at all, but he's good at keeping normal conversations. Just don't ask him any deep questions.

-The others don't understand him. Everyone considers him hard to deal with because of his short temper. He gets along the best with Paige and Colin.

Colin:

-Also autistic bc how could he not be

-Actually knows the darkest parts of the "digital world"/internet but just like in a common computer you won't get easy access to those.

-He was Roy's computer! He's a fairly old computer, Roy stopped using him when he became glitchy and only brought him back for the show.

-Is super slow most of the time, using him as an actual computer is frustrating.

-Yellow can use him to play old computer games tho, and he will if given a chance.

-Gets mad at Red preferring Laptop because Laptop is not glitchy, it makes him feel replaced and frustrated.

-Scared of bugs, no joke intended

Steak/Lamp chop:

-Literal BBQ dad

-The other teachers find him intimidating bc bro is huge.

-Spinach Can and Bread Boy are like his kids! And Fridge is always by his side, nobody knows if they're in love or just buddies.

-He doesn't speak to any of the other teachers or the main trio most of the time, he's happy with the healthy gang and feels like he doesn't need more than them.

-Spinach really looks up to him, they never leave his side. Steak will carry them everywhere and tell them bad jokes.

-Yellow wants to be picked up by him all the time, he doesn't find him scary, he just saw he's tall and now he wants up.

Larry/Lamp:

-Man was DRUNK while he was singing about dreams.

-Can't form coherent thoughts, ever.

-Shrignold loves to be around him bc he always listens. Truth is he's always kind of lost inside his own brain so that makes him a good listener.

-He's really strong physically but he's not aware of it, Yellow was really hurt when he grabbed him by the arm.

-He will fall asleep anywhere and anytime. He doesn't even care.

-He uses Colin as Google by asking him lots and lots of questions.

-No one can stand to be around him when he gets philosophical. And I mean no one. Not even Yellow. His philosophical questions don't even make any sense.

Bonus main trio hcs:

-Yellow is autistic and has ADHD :)

-He loves to be picked up!

-ofc he's a puppet but I hc him to be somewhere between 4 and 8 instead of being 48😃 bc... [SPOILER AHEAD] no way he went from being 38 to being 48 the same day on wakey wakey.

He's been taken to Tilin's grave quite a few times now, and each time he just gets... really sad. It doesn't make him value his life the way they want it to- instead, it convinces him he can't, by any means, let himself get killed, otherwise his dads will end up like 1% dad quackity (very very sad), and his siblings will mourn him and that won't be nice

he's an incredibly sweet kid- this isn't an hc as much as it's an Actual Real On God fact, I just think it's very important

because he is such a sweet kid, the lessons about hurting other things are the ones that he dislikes most

he loves tax evasion it's his favorite crime to commit

he picks up other people's habits very easily! things like tics, stims, speech patterns, etc

he has a hard time understanding romance, due to having 5 dads who aren't in love with each other, Chayanne's dad being one of his dad's crush (he THINKS that's it), whatever cellbit and roier have going, etc

he doesn't really... like his definetly not a captivity room. he thinks he understands why he has to sleep there, and the attempts to make it more cozy worked a little, but it's too dark and quiet and small in there. there's barely any space to shoot his gun and soon there won't be space for paintings

alright, in this au, afo is a demon lord who can steal the magic of not only fellow demons but also humans, which is how he ends up becoming the demon lord

he is infamous for having loyal necromancers who resurrect all his enemies in the most horrendous forms and, worst of all, make them completely loyal to him. thoughtless on their own

izuku, of course, is the demon prince

what u thought this wasnt a dfo au? jokes on u thats the only thing im good at

inko is a human, so izuku is half demon half human and a lot of demons dont like him too much for it. hes running away one day (from demons who dont know his identity only that hes got human blood) and ends up meeting one of the humans' knights

its all might, of course. he has no idea that izuku is the demon lord's son, only that hes human (he is not visibly a demon, but he can transform. like pull out out horns, a tail, some scales, glowing eyes and whatnot) and deserves some love. izuku is not injured, just exhausted. he has the same powers as his father but to a lesser degree. all might also doesnt know that, and izuku has no problem keeping it to himself

hes not a bad kid, but the teachings of the demon kingdom have been soaking into him since he was young

so hes essentially raised-ish (hes nearly an adult, but looks younger than he is) by all might while shimura tenko, 100% human, is being raised by the demon lord in secret

while izuku was being raised by afo, he wasnt sheltered at all, he knew what his father did and how he did it. but it was exposure to humans that taught him how wrong it was

izuku doesnt have the visceral horror towards his fathers deeds that people around him have, but he does care about how they feel, so he doesnt like seeing them upset, so by association he becomes disgusted by his father

people tend to like izuku bc hes charming and very sensitive to how ppl feel, but occasionally hes so ruthless it seems out of character. it isnt out if character at all, izuku tends to draw very strong lines between People He Likes and Everybody Else

he would never hurt the people he likes, but he doesnt have the same compunction for the rest of the world. hes p overprotective over the people he likes, almost going overboard, but he tends to try to avoid doing things they dislike

its kind of important to keep in mind that izukus morals are found mostly in his relationships to the ppl around him. he dislikes the things that make the ppl he liked upset, but if that wasnt a person he liked, he probably wouldnt care.

this is key because when nobodys around and there wont be any witnesses, izuku has very few morals at all. he wont do things that make the ppl around him upset, but what they dont know wont hurt them

he wants his friends, the human knights, to win against his father, so he does not hesitate to wipe out whole groups of demons to accomplish this goal.

remember, he has his fathers power

the humans are surprised by how much easier the war seems to be all of a sudden. as izuku kills his way through, he gets stronger by stealing the magic of the demons he kills.

eventually they get to the demon lords castle

all might and the demon lord fights. the demon lord almost wins when he sees his son. hes actually a pretty loving father by demon standards which in human standards is like. a really terrible father

demons tend to have children then leave them to fend for themselves, but the demon lord raised his son for years and years. even without the human blood, most demons think that izuku is a spoiled rotten prince

you cant say that the demon lord really cared for izuku, but he ensured that he was fed, clothed, sheltered, and taught him how to fight. most people would see this teaching how to fight as abuse, and they would probably be right because it started very young, when izuku didnt even know what a fight was

anyway all might is on the ground and the demon lord is standing over him. he sees his son. understands where izuku has been all this time. hes glad izukus not dead but also realizes that izuku is no longer on his side

izuku kills the demon lord, but its pretty clear to anyone watching that the demon lord doesnt put up much of a fight.

you see. the demon lord position is passed on when the demon lord dies, to the next strongest demon. guess who that is

its izuku, of course. nobody on the human side knew until that point that he was a demon at all. he only transformed in front of other demons, who knew and assumed everyone else knew as well. he also pretty much left no witnesses who had seen the demon features

izuku midoriya becomes the demon king, and now has to convince the demon kingdom to no longer be at war with the human kingdom while also dealing with incredible distrust from the people he was very close to before

all might, especially, is suspicious

Friday, your favorite day of the week. 

Not only because it was your last day at work before a long, relaxing weekend, but also because your best friend, Spencer Reid, and you always spent your Friday nights together, watching your favorite movies and eating junk food together.

It had become something like a routine for you two over the years which neither of you wanted to ever miss again. Your movie nights were a perfect chance to forget all the stress at work and a great excuse to eat a crazy amount of unhealthy food, something everyone needed after an exhausting week.

Unfortunately, Spencer had to cancel your movie night two times in a row this month because of an important case which had taken longer to solve than the team had expected, giving you no other chance than to watch your favorite romantic dramas all by yourself.

You had missed him a lot while he had been gone because he hadn’t called or texted once, leaving you sleepless and worried for two long weeks. You had tried not to overthink, knowing he always had to concentrate on the case, but a weird feeling in your stomach had told you that something had been wrong.

Spencer had always called you at least once when he hadn’t been in town, talking about the case with you and telling you how much he missed you, but this time none of that had happened. Your attempts not to overthink had failed badly and you had found yourself creating the worst scenarios in your head every single day.

The countless unread messages you had sent him hadn’t made you feel any better. At some point, you had even thought about calling one of the other team members, but you hadn’t wanted to embarrass yourself or give the impression of a clingy best friend.

So the weeks had gone by without hearing a peep from Spencer, making it hard for you to concentrate and work and not mess up your costumer’s orders.

On Tuesday night, after over two weeks of no message or call from Spencer, you had driven past his house. His car had been parked at his usual parking spot, a sign that he had finally come back home. 

As soon as you had arrived at your apartment, you had called him at least five times but, again, he hadn’t picked up. Slowly you had started to think that you had done something wrong and it had been your fault that he hadn’t contacted you for such a long time.

You had barely slept that not. But to your surprise, you had woken up to a new text message from Spencer on Wednesday morning, letting you know that he would buy some Chinese takeout before picking you up from work on Friday.

Maybe you had overthought way too much and he had actually just been busy working on the case.

But the moment you saw your best friend leaning against his car in front of the coffee shop you worked at two days later, you knew the weird feeling in your stomach hadn’t failed you. To say Spencer looked terrible was probably the understatement of the year, but you were glad to see him alive. 

You almost stumbled over your own feet as you sprinted towards your best friend, but you couldn’t care less. Without really thinking about it and ignoring his dislike of hugs, you pulled Spencer in a big, warm embrace, wrapping your arms tightly around his thin torso while you tried not to burst out in tears.

“You’re an asshole, Reid,” you greeted him, being unable to stop yourself from smiling at the sound of his laugh and the feeling of his strong arms around you. God, you had missed him like crazy.

“I missed you, too,” he chuckled and pressed a loving kiss on your forehead, tightening his arms around you.

Neither of you knew how long you stood next to his car like that, arms wrapped around each other and never wanting to let go again, but it was the best feeling in the entire universe. Spencer was the one who carefully pushed your body away from his, smiling at you before the two of you finally got in his car.

“What happened to you? You look terrible,” you asked and leaned back in your seat, your eyes fixed on Spencer. He looked like someone had just beaten him up five minutes ago, one bruised eye, a  deep cut on his bottom lip and another one right above his eyebrow. On top of that, it seemed like he hadn’t slept in days.

Spencer shrugged his shoulders and tried to avoid eye contact while his fingers nervously tapped on the steering wheel. You could tell that he didn’t want to talk about it so you decided not to dig any deeper.

The only sound that could be heard for the following five minutes was jazz music playing on the radio. You didn’t exactly feel uncomfortable, but you were scared of saying something wrong and ruining your movie night with Spencer. 

Luckily, your best friend was the first one to speak again.

“I’m sorry I didn’t call you,” he mumbled almost so quietly that you didn’t understand a word he had said, “I know you always worry a lot, but I didn’t really… have the chance to use my phone.”

You rested your hand on his thigh, not really realizing what you were doing, and squeezed it slightly.

“We don’t have to talk about it right now. I’m just glad you’re here and not buried six feet under the ground,” you ensured him, your thumb drawing circles on his thigh. Spencer removed his right hand from the steering wheel and placed it on top of yours, intertwining your fingers.

He was more than relieved that you didn’t force him to talk about the case because he wasn’t sure if he was ready to replay the kidnapping, which Garcia and he had just been through, in his head already. Spencer had been one step away from knocking on heaven’s door, the feeling when his team had finally rescued him indescribable.

He had been so convinced that he would die before having told you how strong his feelings for you were and never getting the chance to kiss you that now he had to fight every cell in his body which told him to pull over and kiss you on the middle of the highway.

In his eyes, you were the most beautiful, caring, supportive and kindhearted woman to ever exist and it hadn’t taken him long to fall deeply in love with everything about you, but he had never found the courage to tell you.

Besides that, the fear of ruining your friendship was always in the back of his head, but now he could feel that he wouldn’t be able to hold himself back any longer.

The traffic light in front of you suddenly went from yellow to red, causing Spencer to slow down and stop the car. You watched the other vehicles drive past you on the street, not noticing that Spencer’s hazel eyes were fixed on you the whole time.

His thumb was drawing little circles on the back of your hand, making you smile like an idiot. Spencer was closer than ever to just saying "fuck it" and press his lips against yours, already letting go of your hand so that he could cup your face in his large hands.

However, the loud honk from the car behind his prevented him from doing so, causing both of you to nearly have a heart attack. Spencer quickly focused on the street and started driving again, both hands on the steering wheel. You missed the feeling of skin-to-skin contact immediately, just like he did.

“That’s why you should always keep your eyes on the road. I thought you knew that, Doctor Spencer Reid,” you teased him and turned your face away from the window to look at him.

“A pretty woman is sitting next to me. I don’t think you can blame me for being distracted for a moment,” his words made you blush deeply and had shocked you a bit if you were being honest. Did he just flirt with you?

Spencer was surprised by his straight-forwarded compliment as well, immediately regretting it because he didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable. Best friends didn’t flirt with each other, but was making someone a compliment even considered flirting? He had no idea.

The two of you sat in silence again. For ages, you had waited for Spencer to finally make a move, give you a hint that his feelings for your were stronger than just best friend as well, but you didn’t know if this had been the sign you needed.

The past weeks had made you realize how much he really meant to you and you were sick of calling him your best friend, having to hide your crush on him when all you wanted was to kiss his soft lips whenever he wouldn’t stop rambling about some facts nobody really cared about.

But you couldn’t just… kiss him, right?

You played with the silver promise ring, which Spencer had gifted you a few years ago, on your finger while your teeth tortured your bottom lip, unsure of what to do while trying to ignore the tension in the car. Spencer’s eyes somehow always found their way back to your kissable lips, but you were too busy looking out of the window to notice. He didn’t even want to hold back anymore.

All of sudden, Spencer pulled over and stopped the car. You looked at him, furrowing your eyebrow slightly confused.

“Are you-…,” but he didn’t let you finish your question, closing his eyes for a second and taking a deep breath to prepare himself for what he was about to do before he tilted his head so that he could look right into your eyes.

“Can you stop biting your lip? Because I might have to kiss you if you don’t.”

Your heart skipped a beat, breathing normally felt harder than ever. Someone had to punch you in the face right now so that you could make sure you weren’t dreaming. 

Even Spencer was surprised by his sudden braveness.

Every brain cell in your head had stopped working by now and you could feel the heat rising to your cheeks.

“For fuck’s sake, Spencer, just fucking kiss me,” you whispered, almost sounding like you begged him to do it.

Of course, he didn’t need to be told twice and before your brain could process what was happening, Spencer had already leaned in and united his soft lips with yours. Your heart was close to exploding in your chest and the butterflies in your stomach went crazy.

Spencer’s hand found it’s way into your (y/h/c) hair, the other one softly caressed your cheek. For a few moments, you didn’t move and felt like you had a blackout because of the adrenaline running through your veins, but just as you could feel Spencer pull back, you wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed back.

Your lips were moving in sync and you couldn’t help but moan against his soft lips as he bit your bottom lip carefully and slipped his tongue inside your mouth, exploring every corner of it. If someone had told you that Spencer was such a good kisser, you would’ve laughed, but, holy shit, he knew exactly what he was doing.

You could feel his hand move from your cheek down to your neck and as he suddenly wrapped his fingers around your throat, squeezing it gently, you were convinced that Spencer could make you orgasm just by making out with you.

Although you didn’t want to miss the feeling of his soft lips against yours for one second, you had to pull back after a few more minutes to breathe. You leaned back in your seat and took a deep breath, your eyes still closed. You were scared that if you opened them you would wake up from another dream about your best friend’s lips.

Spencer cleared his throat and whipped his sweaty palms on his blue pants, still mind-blown and breathless from the kiss.

“We should’ve done this sooner,” you whispered and finally dared to open your eyes, your gaze finding Spencer’s slightly swollen lips immediately. This was real, not just a stupid fantasy.

He couldn’t describe the feeling, but in that moment he felt the happiest man on the planet.

She feels the same, Reid, it’s mutual. Why did it take you so long to notice?

“We don’t ever have to stop again,” he answered and left a quick peck on your cheek before he started his car again.

Maybe he should get kidnapped more often if it led to a make-out season with the prettiest woman in the world.

I Have Too Many Opinions. ep. 1

lmao. i got encouragement to post my opinions on fandom things and now i want to make a miniseries doing just that. so here i am. doing just that.

im putting it under the cut cuz this was 4 whole pages including the disclaimer. yes i put a disclaimer and i explain why.

Anyways, here is the first piece in what inevitably will become fandom info dump, this time on thomas astruc’s writing on miraculous ladybug. but only some of my opinions cuz we would be here all day otherwise.

So… a disclaimer before I begin… 

I do not hate Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir (yes i'm using their government name). I am quite a fan of the show actually despite its faults. I am also older than the intended audience but was obviously younger when the show first aired which is how my interest was piqued (the fact that its been 6 years and only 3 seasons says more about the show than me being a fan for that amount of time but also i never want to rush content creators cuz they're doing their best) and due to my age, there will be inherent bias in my approach of what i'm about to say as there is in EVERY opinion. The fact that it is an opinion should imply the presence of bias but most people tend to lack the critical thinking skills required to draw that conclusion ANYWAYS…

If I did hate the show I would not have this blog nor would I be even writing this because i tend to not give more than 2 seconds of thought to things i actively dislike (some of yall should give this a try) and i'm allowed to like things that are designed for an audience that i was originally a part of but grew out of. (I don't suddenly stop liking things because I'm older despite what many younger fans seem to believe about older audiences. I also don't need to be ‘allowed’ to do anything cuz i wasn't asking for permission anyways.)

This will not be character bashing, astruc bashing nor fandom bashing cuz, again, that would imply i hate any of those elements and if i did, i would not dedicate brainpower to them. Analyses and criticisms of media are fun and engaging and required if you wish to produce good enjoyable content. Now most of this should be already assumed and self-explanatory but people on the internet like to play morality roulette roll dice on purity culture and I rather have documentation that I am in fact not bullying fictional 14 year olds or a grown man. But alas, people get trigger happy whenever someone has less than 1000000% positive opinions on something they like and will throw out words they can't define (gaslight, baiting, toxic, problematic, gatekeep etc) in an attempt to defend their blind devotion, 

which is not needed, if you like something you never have to defend it, even if i don't like it. If you respond to anything I post saying you disagree with me, I will not argue with you. I won't debate back and forth and try to convince you that the things you like are wrong. Unless you are being absolutely tone deaf to what i'm saying, you wont get a negative reaction from me. So don't try to fish for a fight. Please. I got metaphorical hands for days and I'm mean, you don't want me hurting your feelings on the internet. Do yourself the favour. Difference of opinion is how we get diversification in media and is inherently a good thing. Now that that's out of the way, please don't ever let me have to say that again. I beg.

Now onto the fun stuff

I didn't know what I wanted as a first topic so my trusty internet friend @moonlitceleste suggested astruc’s writing… 

AND BOI do i got some opinions on ole tommy boi. Again I don't hate the dude. In fact, he has worked on a few shows that had defined my childhood, including but not limited to W.I.T.C.H. (all eps available on youtube for those interested, 2 seasons, general fun time all around).

So I don't think he’s scum of the earth but I do think his approach to writing mlb specifically has more misses than hits.

The first big miss is that he has no idea how to write 14 year old girls. At all. Almost every girl he has ever written feels like some terrible archetype built entirely for marketability and childish projection and pubescent self-insert (kind of). He has never been a 14 year old girl. I have. In fact when the show first aired, I WAS around the (assumed) age of the mlb characters. The behaviour he passes off as quirky or awkward or just the character’s genuine personality tend to perpetuate harmful stereotypes of teen girls found in the media and are never actually addressed as harmful. they just get swept under the rug. Marinette’s exuberant collage of teen heart throb model boi Adrien Agreste and her very painful almost fan worship she has of him (which flip flops like a paper sandal in the rain) being portrayed as a cute school girl crush uwu, Chloe being the y7 Regina George, Alya being the token best friend of colour with her ‘sassy’ personality (i want y'all to imagine me eyerolling so hard i bust a vessel in my eye), Kagami being the very damaging Perfect Asian Child stereotype. And before y'all get on your dusty soap box and defend going on about “BUT IT'S FOR CHILDREN”,,,, know this.

 i don’t give a solid fuck. 

Not one. 

Children arent stupid. Children are always going to remember the richy bitchy blonde who bullies the art kid, and the big kid, and the shy kid, and the non white kids, and was only nice to her equally rich white friend who she probably had a crush on or was only ever civil to her equally white lapdog. They're going to remember the half asian girl who was never allowed to actually be asian or the only black girl who existed solely as a soundboard for enabling bad habits or chastising the main character for the same habits she enables in the first place (boi aint THAT a topic for later). Like do i really need to explain that alya chastising marinette for taking max’s spot in gamer just to play with adrien rings absolutely hollow when she actively encourages her to sabotage the contest she’s in just so Kagami doesn't win?? Like I don't have to explain that right?? Again kids arent stupid and its quite something that Mari gets chastised for proving herself the best video game player regardless of her intentions just cuz it comes at the expense of max’s feelings/ego but is actively encouraged to sabotage not only kagami but herself by extension cuz kagami is ‘competition.’ Adrien is not a trophy to be won. And no I don't expect 14 yrs old to be perfect and to always make good decisions but these decisions are never addressed as being bad decisions. they get swept under the rug cuz those decisions were necessary for the ‘plot’ but astruc can barely keep characterization consistent and his characters suffer for it and it's the same children you preach are watching it that suffer as well. Cuz guess what? I KNOW 14 yr olds aren't like that cuz i've been there done that (this is the last time i'm saying that i promise) so I know astruc is just metaphorically throwing darts to figure out who says and does what without consideration for pre established personalities to drive the stalemate plot along. The same kids you say are watching this don't know that that's not how preteens work and will absorb and internalize those dynamics like baking soda and vinegar. Cata-fucking-strophically. 

And I haven't even gotten to the boys yet. Which honestly doesn't require much explanation anyways cuz they suffer the same fate as the girls. Tired archetypes with nothing to give them life. Nino falls into Adrien’s person of colour token best friend who dates the female lead’s person of colour token best friend so they can have cute double dates uwu. Except the plot goes nowhere and we have no inclination of romantic development beyond moments that only act to actively convince me to anti ship the lovesquare (i don't want to do that so i self indulge in fanon that actually cares about the characters and plot. may i interest you in True Sight on AO3?). Max is the residential nerd but it doesn't matter (cuz he and everyone are dumbed down for the sake of ‘plot’), kim is the sports jock (which interestingly subverts the asian comedic relief stereotype but only barely) and luka is cute older guy ™ that wears black nail polish and is in a band. The point of all this is to say there is no depth in the characters. It's especially blatantly obvious with the characters astruc doesn't like (chloe). Again, it being a show for kids is not an excuse to be absolved of putting effort into the characters you make.

This is one of the biggest misses astruc has. I haven't even gone into all the nuances of this particular miss. And i havent gone into how that works against him in the plot either. Mostly because the plot itself hasn't gone anywhere and partially because I wanted to go into the plot (or lack thereof) separately as its own miss. 

AND BOI is it a miss. 

SO home boy astruc wanted to reap the benefits of a serial show with ‘engaging’ plot without putting in any of the work to make a linear storyline and relying on the episodic format for, again, marketability. You can't have the best of both worlds, you are not Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which btw has a lot less episodes and a desired end goal that didn't involve top dollar. Legend of Korra did but that's not the point and it had its failings with that too. I challenge you, tell me how many episodes actually contribute towards a plot point or introduce new thematic elements to the show? Can you name them? I can and I'm going to include the plot points that moved the story in some direction if only temporarily. Yes only temporarily for some of these and i will explain later. (if you're in the server you already saw this list *wink*)

25/26. Origins- self explanatory, the beginning of the story, 

24. Volpina- introduction of the grimoire and Master Fu (kind of) and no, Lila is not a plot point,

28. The Collector- proper introduction of Master Fu,

37. Sapotis- introduction of Rena Rouge,

41. Syren- introduction of new aquatic power ups,

44. Anansi- introduction of Carapace,

47. Frozer- introduction of new ice power ups,

48/49. Style Queen- introduction of Queen Bee,

51/52. Heroes’ Day- introduction of Mayura and mass akumatization,

66. Startrain- introduction of Pegasus,

67. Kwami Buster- Marinette wears multiple miraculouses,

68. Feast- backstory as to how the miraculouses were lost,

69. Ikari Gozen- introduction of Ryuko,

70. Timetagger- introduction of Bunnyx,

71. Party Crasher- introduction of Roi Singe and Viperion,

73. Chat Blanc- alternate timeline that essentially means nothing but got a reaction out of fans anyways (myself included)

 77/78. Love Eater/Battle of Miraculous- Marinette becomes guardian and other heroes lose their miraculous,

New York Special- other heroes exist and there is an American miraculous box,

That's 21 episodes. 21 out of a heaping 78 plus 2 specials. Everything else was just your typical akuma of the day episode and everything that happened outside that had no lasting consequences on the plot thanks to the miraculous status quo. Was it entertaining to watch Lila stir the plot of the class dynamic? Hell yeah. Too bad it meant nothing by the end of the episode cuz we were struck with miraculous status quo. She literally doesn't appear again until Heroes Day. that is from episodes 25 all the way to 51, she means nothing and yet she is treated with the severity of a b-villain/rival thing. She means nothing by the end of Volpina if I'm being honest. She is only relevant for 20 mins of episode time she’s in then it's back to magic status quo that undoes any shift in dynamics and relationships. It's like Spongebob who can't get his driver’s license. The worst part is I actually like Lila and I wish the story treated her with the seriousness we as an audience are expected to treat her with. Despite being painfully inconsequential by the end of each of the 3?? 4?? episodes she’s in, it's entertaining to watch a character create drama just because. 

Too bad it means nothing.

Astruc is constantly building up suspense to something ‘important’ only for it to not deliver and fans are constantly having the rug pulled out from under us. Oblivio teased us with a reveal only that gets undone cuz memory akuma. Chat Blanc teased us with romantic development but that gets undone cuz time travel bullshit. Feast introduced more miraculous lore and the history of the guardians but that means nothing by the next episode or ever (i'm not including any reference to the season 4 trailer cuz i've been around the block a few times and im familiar with this lil dancy dance). Heroes Day teased us with a possible future team of heroes but that gets undone in Battle of Miraculous cuz ????? why?? (here's why; astruc was having a jolly ole time letting us know how irredeemable Chloe is at the expense of shooting his own stagnant plot in the foot. Again, discussion for later.)

Too bad anything that slightly swerves off course from the akuma of the day gets undone or ignored. Too bad nothing has any lasting consequence. I mean, if anything did, the episodes would have had a consistent order and release schedule so im not scrambling to watch the leaked ep in Portuguese or something while the french dub is two episodes behind while the english version hasnt even been dubbed. I really wonder how he plans to conclude the show when he’s so afraid to step out of the corner he painted himself in.

Again, not going into nuances. If you want you can ask for more specifics (i doubt anyone would) but this is really just a slightly detailed general overview of my opinions on astruc’s writing. 

I was going to include another miss in his approach to this show but imma save that for another time.

john entwistle biography review

ok so first: I didnt really like the biography because I thought it would focus on totally different aspects. John was a musical virtuoso and that hardly ever gets mentioned in the book. But we get exact axccounts on how much money he spent on what day and in which pub he bought which champagne. like wow thanks. The other personal stuff is basic who knowledge you can read in any other Who biography. His autobiographical bits were joy and fun! Maybe the only reason to buy the book in my opinion. He writes totally different than the author...

ANYWAYS: here my fav facts from the book that you probably didnt know before

this is the face of a man who -when his father gave him driving lessons for his 21st birthday as a present- decided driving wasnt really his thing and he spent the money on clothes and parties instead. He never had a drivers license ever and also never desired to have one 

the hospital he was born in, was bombarded and destructed one day after his birth

as a child he was really weak and thin and had basically every disease that existed

his family was poor af

his father left the family early and held contact with his son, but soon disappeared with a new family

his stepdad, Gordon, disliked John alot and would ignore him, hated everything John did or said and he let his bad moods out on Johns mother, which caused John to be very silent and observative around the house so that there wouldnt be any trouble

he did everything to please Queenie (his mom) so that there was no fighting, according to Alison

loved drawing and playing but usually alone since he had no friends apart from their dog

he heard a trumpet solo once from a trad jazz band when he was 6 or so and decided he wanted to learn the trumpet

my fav line of the book probably: “despite his own expectations, he passed the exams to go to grammar school” like same

at school he was bullied from the older boys but soon left alone by them because he would fight back with badass comments 

he applied for the school band for the trumpet but the tallest guy in the year was chosen (he was the 2nd tallest)  which made John mad, but he discovered the french horn

soon he found a friend, mickey brown, at last and he gave him the nickname “ent”

he was so terrible in P.E that he was dismissed with other pupils to play somehwere else, they were called “the hockey misfits” and guess who was among them: Pete Townshend.

yeah as you might know they became besties because they loved music and black humour.

he found himself a gf (alison) and Pete & a school gang (like 4 ppl) and his life seemed to finally get where it should.

his worst subjects were geography and german like wow (im a german geography student lmao)

once they played in a pub and johns stepdad was there and was super angry and gave john a list with his fav pubs and told him “these are the places I never want to hear your fucking music playing”.

after walking home pete decided to switch the guitar and john wanted to become a musician more than ever

Roger found him and John kind of convinced him (it took months apparently) to get Pete into the band and then it all started

he judged the beatles because John Lennons harmonica was “out of tune” in love me do, wow ok you nerd

john started smoking with 20 and was the last one to quit his job for the band and he was against drugs at first (bc he had a “civilized” job) but then decided to give a shit, dyed his hair black, bought cigarettes, smoked dope with pete and did speed too

he wanted to step out of himself and feel good about himself and he was always a fashionnerd so he started buying and trading and selling clothes (he once was dismissed from school bc he wore the school uniform incorrectly)

with 18 or so he was still living at home, had a toy soldier collection and a pet budgie

pete and his college friends made fun of john bc he wasnt a student and still lived at home, although john could have gone to college too and he wanted to, but his stepdad again said no and he had no choice.

he was very awkward and introverted but could open up with his music 

he was really into pop art (esp pop art clothes)

was a pseudo mod bc he only liked the fancy clothes and motown music

with the who he found a purpose in his life and finally could be different than ordinary ppl

hated when people touched his hair, he literally hated it

would fuss much about his hair in general

once after a concert they were starving and the room service was alreday home so they had to look on used plates and food wagons and John found a shrimp and said: “who wants to dine with me tonight?” (idk that really made me laugh)

keith moon was john entwistles soulmate and they were the cutest, most iconic and funniest duo ever end of discussion

his amps would soon be called little manhatten bc he had so many bc he wanted to be loud

he actually went to sing at church once when he was like 24 and the band made fun of him then he stopped

in the late 60s he bought a house with alison in a normal neighbourhood and went walking the dogs on sundays and stuff

but he was a party animal and always the last to go

he was really sensitive and cried often according to Alison but only in front of certain people

he would totally step out of his way to please people

when they played at the monterey pop festival they didnt bring their own amps along and john was furious bc he said the american amps are shit and kit was like “no” and john didnt talk to him for the whole festival until their perfomance was over and they had sounded like shit to tell kit “I TOLD YOU SO” thats how extra he was

when he got money he would spend it bc he was so used to being poor that he thought it wouldnt last long and he had to enjoy it NOW

he was always calm and everyone respected him and kit told a story where he entered the room and roger was at keiths throat and and pete was screaming something and john was sitting in the corner cleaning his nails. thats who energy

his fav drink was rémy cognac with 40% and he would drink like 1 bottle alone everyday in his later years...wow dude

he was also gentlemanTM and once paid taxis for girls from london to brighton after a party

once at a wedding the free drinks were out and John just gave the barkeeper his creditcard and said he will pay for all the drinks of the night for everyone (it wasnt his wedding)

he didnt really care about money and always wanted to pay and never told anyone how much things had cost and brought gifts for everyone

soon that ended in a shopping addiction tho and he bought ridiculous things for ridiculous amounts of money

when the who ended, it hit him really hard and he didnt know what to do besides partying and buying stuff/hording stuff

was very insecure and selfconscious in the 80s according to Maxene :(

he actually took pete breaking up the who really personal and was sad 24/7

was that kind of guy that said bad stuff about the who but when you said bad stuff he would try to kill you on spot

with cocaine he felt really confident and still like the 60s/70s rockstar he once was but he didnt understand that these times were over and he needed to move on

sometimes went into random pubs with friends and made jam sessions for the guests

he still was generous and loving until he died and tried to play with other bands but it was not the same

he really liked Kenney and hung out with him more than with his wife at some point lmao

was a total giver and people who worked at quarwood would steal money from him but when someone pointed that out he got angry with that person for even suggesting that

was a real softieee (and a huge nerd)

all his friends said that he was shy at first but once you got to know him he would come totally out of himself, was very funny, loved to tell stories, was very very loyal and would try evertyhing to make you laugh aww

all in all a glorious story with a sad ending and he did destroy himself completely, but lets remember that Pete Townshend described old John still as "wonderful, mature and elegant” so lets cling on to that :)

Personality

Mary tends to be very childish most of the time due to her lack of childhood. She is often seen with candy or a stuffed animal in her backpack on many occasions. With being an undercover agent, Mary has learned how to move quickly and lie out of any situation. She uses her speed to leave things for the members of the ADA, who she considers her family.

Her lying skills have made her very fond of pranks as well. They’re never big or over the top but more of small inconveniences. Even if they know it was her they will sometimes doubt it after listening to her lies. Mary’s lies and manipulation also got her the spot as the agency negotiator who deals with the aftermath of anything gone wrong.

Growing up alone left her desperate for attention so there is never a moment where she is alone and not with someone. After her sickness as a child, she’s not as confident in her ability as she used to be since it’s not the same anymore. She is often with Kenji or talking to Naomi and her brother since she’s closest in age to them but also likes going on cases with Ranpo and getting to ride the trains.

When Mary first joined, she stayed near Yosano the most and followed her everywhere she went. They formed a sister-like relationship and often go on shopping trips together making someone else from the agency carry their bags.

Ability

Silas Marner lets her copy anything about a person except for physical appearance by touching them. Her ability got weaker after her illness at 12 which almost killed her. Her ability was close to her current one but stronger. As a child, she could completely transform into someone and choose what traits to keep. Now, when she touches someone and uses her ability, a golden glow will appear on her hands. To use her ability she needs to know what she wants to copy first. Mary is also able to copy abilities. Dazai’s is the only one so far she can not copy because of how his ability works

Skills

Mary is very quick on her feet and uses her agility to fight most of the time. She has a decent amount of strength she avoids showing to use as George Elliot. When fighting she grabs whatever near her whether it’s a plank of wood or a metal pole to fight. She goes for quick attacks that the enemy can’t keep up with.

Background

As a child, her parents knew of her ability after playing with a neighborhood kid and transformed into him. After convincing the boy and his parents that was fake they move far away to Japan. Her mother had family and knew there was a place for people with abilities. At age 10, Mary Ann Evens was left alone in front of the Armed detective agency. When she wandered in she first met Ranpo who was playing with a marble.

After being brought into the agency she quickly became close to Yosano first. She spent every minute she could following her around and trying to talk to her. Yosano let her as long as she helped carry her bags as well as the other poor soul who got dragged with them.

The first two years working at the ADA were fun for Mary. She got to go undercover as an adult because she could transform into them. When not working she got to wander around the city with a small amount of money as a “paycheck” and spend it.

While on a mission not long after turning 12, she was directly hit with a poisonous bomb that got into her blood and her lungs. She spent every day in the hospital and was in a coma for the first two months while she healed. After waking up she had to stay for another two months before being realized. She was so weak for the first part of healing that most thought she lost her ability. When Mary could finally get around on her own she started working on her ability.

When she realized the difference she cried. She couldn’t eat for a week and stayed in her room. It took Yosano counseling her to even get Mary to accept it. First, Yosano had her create a character to play when undercover so she won’t feel like her old ability is completely gone. By the end of the year, Mary had finally come to terms with her new ability and now was also “George Elliot” a young teen boy who takes business from everyone and works whatever position they need him to.

As Mary grew up, so did George. She made sure there were almost no similarities between them and developed his character and the way he acted. She even managed to get down the masculine voice she wanted. Currently, she and George are so different with the exception of height and hair she would be surprised if someone made the connection

People also say he has a soft spot for animals and they also like him.

At some points, George has even had birds hang out on his shoulder or stray animals follow him around. On one occasion, the stray dog he fed helped him when he was in a fight.

and that's okay! It was a terrible plot choice! My interest for the 100 is completely gone, I haven’t even seen the last episode yet. But I love Bellamy and to keep reading that people who don't want to accept the canon bond between Clarke and Madi bc in their opinion it wasn't showed enough are saying that it's ooc for Clarke to kill Bellamy instead of letting him put Madi's life at risk a SECOND time, and it's not like it's only Cadogan who knows about the key and the others wouldn't go after her forever? It's making me dislike Bellamy because I end up thinking about all the arguments I can make like 1) "Bellamy never even apologized for putting the chip in Madi, and we can still see the consequences of that damn chip now, and in universe they couldn't know she wouldn't get murdered over it, so Clarke has a point in not wanting to let it happen again whether you accept that she sees Madi as her innocent daughter and a child, how many times can she give everything she has and have to beg for forgiveness when she doesn’t want to give up her daughter’s life to save them, only to be met with people expecting her to let it happen whenever needed in their opinion?"

or 2) "Bellamy expected Clarke to let him do it again out of love for him while telling her that love for other people came second to him now, because he had peace as a goal and that came first? Is anyone really going to claim that to ‘end all wars’ he wouldn’t see okay to sacrifice Madi too? Because desperate to stop all that pain, sure, but no matter the reason actions have consequences"

what should have been changed was that Bellamy shouldn't have bought into that idea so deeply, he shouldn't have been written about to ONCE AGAIN be about to throw Madi to the wolves, putting Clarke in the obvious position of having to choose, and NOT the fact that she needed him to stop talking and he wouldn't, so she shot him.

The more I feel the urge to defend Clarke from what I perceive as unfair accusations, the more I have to be mad at Bellamy, when normally I'd just be furious and disgusted by the PLOT, and I don't like feeling that way because Bellamy was a victim too, it's just that a victim of brainwashing can't be allowed to do that much damage and keep going, especially if he's so convinced that his goal is more important than all of them. I don't even care if it's true that they'll achieve peace forever, which anyway means no freewill, the means to get it were unacceptable.

and reading over and over that Clarke was pure evil, never loved him as much as he loved her even though he's the one who chose a potential goal over her, betrayed her, let her get tortured and was going to get her daughter killed, and therefore she simply didn't love brainwashed Bellamy, and reading that not wanting a child who was by they way mostly raised in a peaceful environment and is STILL a child to become commander and now a key means she's obsessive... yeah that's making me dislike the fans and Bellamy more than I'll ever dislike Clarke

Shota Aizawa

- he absolutely has at LEAST 3 cats, he spoils the heck out of them too. that's why he's always eating those gel packs... he spends too much on his cats.

- he really does love his class. and we all know honey??? u haven't expelled any of them. ur soft for them ok.

- he likes to sleep with his cats bc he gets lonely at night... he will not admit it, but he likes having someone/something there :)

- he has reuccuring nightmares about the usj attack and how he could have failed to save his students

- has a very low alcohol tolerance and often ends up getting dragged back to his apartment by mic or midnight when they go out whilst he rambles and whines the entire time

- he hates crying and tries his best to keep his emotions held in, he's only cried in front of a select few people

- he tries not to let others opinions on him rule his life and tends to block it out if someone hates him

- he doesn't know it, but he is the entirety of class 1-a's dad.

- he really likes tea, and dislikes sweets

- as you would expect, he takes his coffee black

- he really likes kpop! he stans multiple groups and really wants to attend a concert

- though he seems really chill on the outside, he's actually quite sensitive and has some self confidence issues

- he loves being around people and finds that he gets his energy from being around those he loves

- definitely into e-boy fashion, and he is open about it

- pierced his own ears at 3 am and called kaminari crying about how he screwed it up

- he actually likes to draw a lot in his free time, it's very relaxing. he puts on some nice low-fi music and draws for hours

- he hasn't had many crushes in his life and doesn't find romance to be a big issue currently, but he's open to anything

- he wants more friends. he really is enjoying meeting new people and having some new friends at ua!

Shinsou Hitoshi

- loves to kiss his kitties on the forehead but dreads human interaction

- he loves to squish his cats' toebeans... he takes pictures of them and posts them to his secret cat social media acc

- he is gay but doesn't know how to feel about it and/or come out, he's really nervous and doesn't trust people to accept him

- he doesn't smile often but when he does it's the cutest thing ever

- he secretly really likes deku and kaminari and is hesitant about accepting their friendship, but appreciates the gestures a lot

- he suffers with social anxiety and doesn't really know how to make friends very well??? like, in middle school people were total dickbags to him so he kinda just closed himself off and decided he was gonna like... not make friends, but now that there's nice people around him he just kind of- doesn't know how

- this is actually canon! but he feels guilty about having to manipulate people when he uses his quirk, during the 4th school briefs book he feels guilty when he overhears midoriya and ojiro talking about him using his quirk during the sports festival, and he's like "i wish ojiro would say something rude about me to show he's angry so i wouldn't have to feel so guilty about this" since ojiro showed no ill feelings towards him

Izuku Midoriya

- "hold on I'll go get a blanket!" *opens closet* *thousands of all might figurines tumble out*

- watches cat vine compilations until 2 am, than freaks out when he realizes it is 2 am

- very good with children!

- used to be very self conscious about his freckles bc of bakugou insulting them; hid them with concealer for a while until someone told him they were beautiful

- loves his momma so muchhh he would do anything for her, he likes to surprise her with small favors to see her happy

- does not understand the concept of letting people handle their own problems

- stays after to class to offer his teachers help

- he has a lot of self doubts and is still struggling to this day to come to terms with the fact that he is worthy of having one for all

- he wants to learn how to cook for his mom and friends

Kyoka Jirou

- she is a lesbian!!!!! she has a crush on momo but is completely convinced that it's unrequited

- struggled with judgmental kids in middle school because of her sexual identity and style

- gets very easily flustered by anyone complimenting her

- that one person sitting at the back of the bus with their earbuds blasting full volume

- was a GOD at guitar hero

- acts like she's fed up with kaminari's (which she can be sometimes), but truly he's one of the people she can trust the most. she secretly appreciates the way he hypes up her talents and how he really helps her through the day sometimes!

- she loves heroes so much... when she was a little girl and didn't know what to do she'd ask herself "what would my favorite heroes do!?"

- she also secretly buys hero merch but hides it in fear of her being seen as sappy

Amajiki Tamaki

- would have trouble standing up for himself but if he sees ANYONE messing with mirio he WILL throw hands

- likes to watch bob ross videos when hes feeling anxious

- he once went to a butterfly museum with his parents and cried out of joy when one landed on his nose

- leaves food out for strays in his neighborhood, ends up attracting an entire hoard of animals.

- he can paint very nicely, he began to paint after he discovered bob ross

- mirio then saw his paintings and showed the entire class to tamaki's dismay, but everyone absolutely LOVED them!!!

- every day he becomes more and more capable and sure of himself, he is still very anxious, but he's learning to open up and embrace his talents <3

- he really loves to listen to music and any time he's not around others he'll probably have earbuds in, gently swaying back and forth to whatever he has on

- nejire loves to try out new hairstyles on him, and strangely enough, tamaki lets her, he loves it when people play with his hair

Shirakumo Oboro

- shares one collective braincell with mic

- that one person that brings EVERYONE valentine treats on valentines day at school

- most likely plays ding dong ditch

- *draws stick figure* "ah yes. just like van goh" (he cannot draw)

- hates to see his friends (and even random strangers upset) and will go out of his way to do dumb things to make them smile

- probably played soccer

- he's a massive flirt and likes to believe he will become a stereotypical anime protagonist with a massive harem

- he really wants to see aizawa come out of his shell more and tries his best to encourage him to see the best in everything

- he has most likely worn a schoolgirl uniform to class once

- he's very affectionate and loves to hug his friends (even if they don't want hugs), it's his way of showing he likes people

Hizashi Yamada

- he lives off of caffeine. he is a teacher, pro hero, and radio show host, im honestly not sure how he does it

- gives out stickers when students get the correct answer in class and has class parties when they are well behaved for the semester

- just like everyone else, he has his own turmoil as well, he likes to stay busy because it prevents him from having a lot of time to dwell on the past

- he gives really good hugs, and loves to feel the touch of others, it's very comforting to him

- was probably pretty troublesome when he was very young while he learned to get control of his quirk

- overall a really happy and excitable guy, he loves being the center of attention and if he can make people happy by being what he is, that's awesome!

- he shows his appreciation for people in odd ways, but he always means good, even if his wild antics can be a bit stressful lol

- he likes to sing a lot and does it a bunch when he's alone, he can also play a lot of instruments

- he can be very serious if needed, he does often put on a persona when he's present mic

- when he's hizashi (out of hero persona) he's even more of a dork than usual, very goofy, awkward and pouty. a manchild.

i will talk about... Taro and Marky!!

Taro first!

   favorite thing about them: ummmm his design (not acceleracers) and personality-- hes a pretty solid character imo, compared to many flaws in others i have pointed out.    least favorite thing about them: as i think some have mentioned many times before, the whole attempt at ‘japanese morals’ is weird and it really doesnt play much into him at all anyways. he can be a respectable guy with strong morals without mention outdated assumptions on culture and stereotypes.    favorite line: “i’m gonna pass you” and then failing to pass someone. i think is an obvious choice.    brOTP: vert/taro/kurt! maybe karma/taro. it feels like they could be friends    OTP: taro/kurt. maybe a little taro/gelorum or taro/kadeem    nOTP: taro/vert is not something i want to see but not terrible by any means.    random headcanon: that he was the first driver that Gelorum tried to recruit, before Kurt. which is based off of this possible error from Harrison Lau’s comic... im quite sure they meant to draw Harrison BUT it also looks like an attempt to show who she talked to before Lau (as you can see the image of Zed above her). and instead they drew Taro instead of Lau... but yeah.

   unpopular opinion: i dont think its unpopular to dislike his design lol. the fact it goes towards a more stereotypical look for a japanese ~sumari~ guy is just bad. just almost every dude in WR had the same face but at least it wasnt...that.    song i associate with them: i have many in mind actually but imma wait to share my taro playlist when its done....    favorite picture of them:

   favorite thing about them: i do like the whole idea of him changing so much from WR to Acceleracers. because theres some cool ideas to make about that time period.    least favorite thing about them: i really do not like how he is presented in acceleracers lmao. he was always annoying to me to watch in the actual movies. and i am not a huge fan of how he is modeled or designed (design could be ok but model is just...nah for me). the change in appearance is a liiiitle much imo.    favorite line: ??? i dont remember but he said some funny stuff in WR.    brOTP: maybe vert/marky, mostly when he was younger    OTP: none... i could be convinced into some if anyone has ideas.    nOTP: as obvious, no marky/kurt.    random headcanon: this one from my blog a while back- Marky had blonde hair (from the comics) and he dyed it so he could look more like kurt, he wanted to be like him. or the opposite, to not look like kurt after the events of jail, he bleached it.    unpopular opinion: cant think of anything other than the fact i again, just really dont like his personality in acceleracers at all?? i think in general the whole idea of him going to prison and changing for the worse is poorly done.    song i associate with them: cant think of anything rn but will make a playlist for him soon...
