I love that Will and El are platonic, familial soulmates. Like even though they're not remotely related they were destined to be twins and two halves of a whole

highlight of my 2023 is seeing sunshine boy allen walker as he finally opens up
I mean look at my boy removing his mask finally 🥹
from that boy who constantly convinces himself that it's ok and he can just "keep walking"
and pushing away everyone but can't completely, realizing how lonely he is
and that he can't let anyone go even if it would mean dragging them into his mess
Opening up to kanda (of all people)
and realizing how refreshing it is to have people truly know you, all of it: the good, the bad, the ugly - and still want to be there for you
My friends, that writing and slow burn and genuine character development there is why i love katsura hoshino

I'm finally watching the Netflix geeked sandman unlocked and I'm. So floored by Tom's understanding of the character and by the profundity of his answers 😭😭 also like. I feel like I saw someone talking about this already somewhere but his response to a question about episode six sure does lend support to both aroacespec-coded Dream and dreamling as a ship 👀👀
Someone had asked why pride and melancholy were such big parts of Dream's character. Part of Tom's answer was that love (and he lists partner, familial, and friends as equal clarifiers) is the biggest counter to melancholy, and Dream shuts himself off from love because of his responsibilities so he's, naturally, melancholic. He then says that what Dream learns from Death is how to find empathy through understanding the human experience - and he says that that understanding is the first step towards love.
He then says that he thinks Dream's thought process was, and I quote: "'If I can feel this about these people after such a short space of time, what do I feel about a man who I've spent 600 years with?' And so, he returns to him."
HELLO???? 😭😭😭😭 like sorry but no matter if you see dreamling as romantic or platonic, that's fucking beautiful. I love him your honor

you wanted to let waidwen know how proud you felt, but he no longer needed a father's approval to know when he was right.
that saddened you even more than knowing waidwen had seen his last sunrise.

I never want to let the M9 go.
What a joy to have them back again, if only for a moment.
