i feel like the original series was red guy centered, the first season was for yellow guy, and i am BEGGING AND PRAYING that season 2 will be more about duck!! i will probably cry if anything happens to him though lol 💀 everytime writers break a comic relief character i just OUGSHGS.. it gets me.

h well I don't think you're wrong about that! Webseries being Red Guys time to shine, S1 of the TV show being for Yellow (esp the last two episodes I think? Even thought outside of that, he does get a lot of focus/he IS the one who talks to the audience the most directly). From what I remember hearing, the pilot was pretty Duck-centered.

But I think even if he GETS his big moment in the sun, so to speak, it's NOT going to be as emotional as the other twos. On top of him just not being a very um… let's say sentimental character, he's just not the make-you-cry type! It's just not him imo!

IDK, I operate under the opinion that… in his weird little head, the most important thing that he values over everything is keeping the three of them together. Both because he thinks of them as a weird little family AND because he really doesn't have anyone else outside of the trio. We also know from the interview, and you could maybe argue from the Family episode ( Who do you love?/Anyone who loves me back., I asked every member of my family who they loved the most, and they all said me ) that being loved is something that he actually values QUITE a bit! More than you would assume on first glance! He's weirdly upfront about it haha!

In that way, I imagine that if they were to TRY to pull something to put him in the spotlight in the way you're imagining (i.e. something emotional and focusing on his issues like they did with Yellow & Red) it would either focus on his desire to be loved OR his dedication to keeping the three of them together. But I would argue they both already did that in the Family episode AND put him through the worst case-scenario in regards to those more emotional aspects of his character ( here I think the worst case scenario to him is the other two rejecting him, harshly, unambiguously and to his face, multiple times and the three of them separating ). AND THE THING IS… THAT ALREADY HAPPENED! THAT DIDN'T BREAK HIM!

He had his little pout over it in his dress and was like FINE! I DON'T NEED THEM ANYWAYS! So, I really don't think that big "character-breaking" moment is coming. If the Family ep didn't get him I honest to God don't think there's anything else the house could throw at him that could get under his skin.

wrt my last ask abt an imaginary bones sailor moon, while the action of mob being something i was imagining, honestly like i said their stuff on carole and Tuesday is mainly what made me dream of it. these clips are good examples of their range outside of opm and mp100 style action https://youtu (dot) be/XM6ZsayLLF0 https://youtu (dot) be/Xo813cO-euw a lot of the musical performances in c&t are rotoscoped but still let the designs breathe and express themselves alongside the colors and lighting. if you don't have the time to watch it but want a better idea of why I think they could pull off a magical girl show with slice of life like sailor moon, I'd say look at some of the songs and the openings.

Oh no i checked sakugabooru for clips after the ask just didn't the time to really articulate my words. check out sakugabooru btw, you get clips at much higher quality. overtime Anime's take on character Acting as the site puts it hasnt really been grabbing or impressing me lately. theyre just very stiff and stilted comapred to what i like in the 90s or just the subtler stuff of vintage Disney (Im talking pre-renaissance) or bumfuck wild (overacting as aaron blaise puts it) and i feel theres no inbetween. even the rotoscoping feels stilted and off. too twitchy and floaty i think?

and ye perosnally mob's animation is not only too much for sailor moon since sailor moon is NOT an action packed series on that level (melodrama romance first, action is secondary. so secondary its vgaue on what shit does in the manga). i feel the effects animation and style used belongs to Mob, it deserves its uniqueness.

C&T does look really good though, its the same guys that did Bebop but funny enough I prefer the stuff seen in Bebop.

#tldr i see what youre getting at here but something about c&t is off for me.that i cant see it for moon sailors #sailor moon i dont think works well with c&t's color choices and the oighting seen in s1&2 were solid on good days #like i guess an idea of what i like is yuki hayashi's work for Crystal seen in the speeches #and subtler stuff just disney stuff ah #which crystal was just kinda barren of in all seasons #the bgs u see in the mickey 3 Musketeers i think is what s1/2 tried to strive for and theyre very pretty check it out #but god the bg artist forgot gis name rn just is not a good art director imo i looked at his non Crystla stuff and hes just bad...#and its probably too late now japan decieed ai art was their best bet and starting to lay off everyone #im watching mov and bebop with some mutuals adtually :p #Bebop was sunrise iirc #but ye idk i feel a lot of todays sakuga is doing too much with so little it just feels stiff and twitchy so nothing has really grabbed me

FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

thats...quite the improvement! (i remember being so proud of it)

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

ive had the idea of redrawing this for quite some month now so it was kinda already planned

background cuz i think it came out really pretty

doesnt have the little stars since without elfilis and the structures it looks fucked up. the actual sky in game is more blue, but the clouds have some orange, in the 2023 ver. i made the sky orange, and in the 2024 ver i wanted it more accurate, but i didnt wanna loose the orange sky, so i did a gradient. pretty...

also here's a screenshot i took when i was like halfway trough it, its barely noticeable but i changed his mouth in the final drawing

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

its not as interesting or dynamic as the one i showed you earlier but okay let me explain this. so i have her holding her hands up to her eyes in the see no evil gesture right BUT you see how shes still looking through her fingers BECAUSE you also said she still sees everything. boom best of both worlds or whatever. i wanted to add the blindfold so i sorta have it covering her mouth alluding to the speak no evil gesture?? idk i just wanted the funky eye blindfold. i tried to make it look directly at you AND shes also looking directly at you cause she sees everything,, you see what i did there,, uuhuuhhh you see. i dont really have an explanation for the glowing eyes in the bg i just thought they would be cool and i did end up covering her dogs i aint learning how to draw bare dogs. i also tried to make it a sort of higher angle her robe and the hair behind her is spread out on the floor i hope that came through. one thing im unexplainably proud of is the chains LOOK AT THEM

AND THE FABRIC SHADING I THINK I CAME IN CLUTCH its a little messy cause i could not find a reference for the LIFE OF ME anyways more versions below of course

no shading and without the black hands and legs cause lowkey i forgot they were darker until the end

Because of Inky Mystery, i wouldn't have gotten in this level of coloring (this is my first art of ACTUALLY manipulating colors) my other arts where you see it (tho faintly) are my later application of my color manipulation - i like to call it that way lol. I can tell I definitely improved a lot in my artstyle. Learning rubberhose was a first, I'd say, and Tap and Mercowe's writing? It inspired me to do my own and only (poorly written and horrible) book in wattpad (i will not recommend u the cursed book, also i dropped my wattpad, mainly for storage reasons, and secondary for inactivity)

But all in all, Inky Mystery was one of the BEST that I've read so far (mangas included) I can't be thankful enough that i found this masterpiece.

And i actually attempted to draw a portion of Toon Town, which i can personally say bad, but its a start!

While looking at this piece longer, I can actually see my mistakes... Dont mention it, ik it lookes bad 😂 This is one of my longest and largest art to work on so far (the other one was my Book 10 cover art), tho this one is so large that i had to separate making the bg & text/effects and the characters.

I finished this piece wayyyyy back (just weeks ago) bcoz of school. I know i wont be able to continue this if i extend it even further (i dont rlly want this to finish early, but i was forced to do so, nonetheless i had fun making this!)

Looks bad right? (ESPECIALLY THE SECOND ONE, I MADE IT SO LAZY THAT I JUST PUT THEIR POSSESSIONS INSTEAD OF THEM 💀 Cussing ironic) The new one is basically the remake of the first version (the one w/ yellow bg and the characters' back on the audience)

The other-than-yellow-orange-colored dotted lights represent their souls in the second piece of shit i made💀(its an embarrassing piece but not embarrassing enough for me to hide it, wut--)

Funfact: both the 'Inky Mystery' (yellow bg) piece and 300 chapter art had me suffering of Boris 💀 (had to adjust boris bcoz of his height in the IM yellow bg piece, while the direction Boris is facing is my problem in the 300 ch art. Tried flipping him to the left but it looked off, so i sticked to the og, him facing his right)

Somebody who's good at writing please write a ff7r crossover with KH. I need to see Sora interacting with Remake Cloud and wondering if his memory loss is a Castle Oblivion situation or a Rinzler situation.

First meeting just has him running past him after the reactor bombing, shouting as he sprints past "Hey Cloud, no time to talk saving people bye!" Cloud is confused because he has never seen this kid in his life and he's... running up walls, using water magic (he's never seen water materia what the hell) to put out fires, and doing his best to save people.

Cloud puts it out of his mind and leaves.

Sora catches up with him when he meets Aerith, and the Whispers take one look at him and decide that they Cannot have a Keyblade Wielder fucking up the timeline. Swarm him and just take the teenager away, leaving behind a very confused Cloud and Aerith.

I just think it'd be funny for Sora to be running around im the bg taking out Whispers and inevitably Heartless, talking to everybody he Knows and wondering why they don't remember him. Aerith is the exception, because spoilers, and he keeps asking where Leon is. Tifa is in the same situation as cloud, wondering why this teenager looks familiar and how he knows her. Yuffie tries to rob him only for him to insist he doesn't know what Materia is. He hands her some synthesis materials and she yells at him. He overhears Cloud say 'Sephiroth' once and goes full fight or flight, hair trigger, ready to beat his ass a third time.

haiii i don't know if anyone's asked this already but i was wondering what your process is for making animatics?

im so sorry anon im not the best person to ask this question! ive only done one whole animatic, and it was as much of a learning process as any beginner, lol

i'll leave here my process:

i started out with very basic thumbnails of what my ideas looked like with the lyrics and all:

then i uhmm. i opened a canvas on csp and generated a folder for each scene and then an animation timeline (to play my progress as i go) and i started sketching

after sketching, i didnt really wanna edit, so i played my progress with the song in the bg to visualize a more developed Thing (this is the unlisted video i shared to a couple friends)

(cut to +30 hours of me doing the lineart for each of the frames)

well. i did the lineart for each of the frames, exported them all into a folder, and then opened davinci resolve. i then slapped all the frames on there and started trying to fit them into the rhythm of the song

i remember having trouble with the lyrics, because if i wanted them to flow separate from the images on the screen, id have to do them again but in a separate layer, and export all those layers again, which i didnt wanna bother doing, and my laptop didnt like it when i tried (it is a piece of junk)

so i edited the thing. and then i posted it and then i won

i realize this may not be the most in-depth explanation ever, and im sure theres ways to do this more effectively (and a LOT more cool things you can do w/ editing, i basically just slapped a bunch of images next to each other), but in my defense i dont have a lot of experience making animatics lmfao

I am looking thru files rn and take a lot of pictures of my own art for progress, bc I think like many creatives, it's hard to explain or describe how i get from point A to B in art. im a horrible teacher but this piece for example: (explained under cut)

i tried drawing their little cafe outfits really fast but i just didnt vibe with it. idk what made me want to redo the whole thing. i like the attempt at cooler colors for asougi though. so then we move onto these and:

the first pic looks like an absolute MESS, but what i generally do is get a sketch down, and COLOR out of the way first? I assume it's to set the general tone/ vibe for the piece, which is why you notice a lot of plain color blocks in the bg. then i go back and do lineart and merge all the layers to paint! :D

tbh it's a very back and forth process, and the best way someone described it to me is "you put down blobs of color and then go crazy" which is very, very true.

I think i like the aspect of "carving" in traditional art, where you kinda play around with paint so you go over it again and try something new. so i try to apply that to digital. i think in a lot of my pieces you can see i teeter on the line of messy lineart with color to full blown painting.

anyways there was no point of this, but this is why i always wanna keep track of old art and why i go and revamp old concepts. like i can always try again! also why thumbnailing is very. very. important. but my main goal in art is to have fun when u can, so that's why i play alot.

That animation style is so cool, it's so interesting to look at (I'm bad at complimenting art but that's the best way I can phrase lol)

THANK YOUUU I’m assuming ur talking about the c!dnf one i posted recently and I’m gonna go on a long info dump about it now and you guys can take a glimpse into what happens in my messy ass brain while making things haha (thank you for letting me infodump)

My designs and artstyle for the dsmp characters are mostly inspired by folklore-like artstyles such as cartoon saloon (biggest and most well known inspo so will use them as an example here!)

I loved the vibe of cartoon saloon and the unique artstyle they have! Very angular, their shape language is AMAZING and the vibe of folklore and whimsy is so fucking insane and for me DSMP gives folklore medieval aesthetics so I had to go with something like this

(I could go more into the actual more specific designs of the characters and why i designed them that way but I’ll answer that in a different post! send me an ask anyones interested :3)

And for this animation specifically i wanted to go with a wes anderson movie vibe the parallels and pauses and slight eerieness matches well with how I would make a dsmp movie (if i had the time and budget) so as everyone knows one of the key cinematography points of wes anderson films is his symmetry

so in the first scenes where its peaceful i went with a melancholy yellow tint similar to this scene in moonrise kingdom as the bg and vibe and tried to have more symmetrical scenes as possible without it becoming boring focusing on the little details like george’s ear the animation for the hair etc (i usually animate more fluidly but this time wanted to give the similar vibe as anderson’s stop motion movies so went with the more static stale movements with no camera shakes /movements)

In the second part you can tell that the scenes are more unstable compared to the first the lights darker, colder, rain etc no music the scenes are more cinematic than symmetrical (although some scenes are still slightly “wes anderson-y”) and “I bite” is said with no rain no symmetry in his design and only his voice

I made the difference more intentionally to show how much of their lives and relationship deteriorated

Yeah so thats like the most basic ass rundown of the animation! there are still more details design wise and animation wise that you can catch tho im sure

thinking abt tma again and gonna listen to tmp so i got some (extremely unorganized) thoughts have fun

Spoilers for both podcasts btw. Like a lot of spoilers actually. this is ur only warning. Im gonna mention the infinights backgrounds and some tma episodes

-Mudd-the archivist (bc u know hes green and voiced by a guy named jon)

-marked by the Stranger as a kid when it ate/not-them'd his brother clay. Has since been obsessed with finding answers and joined the institute, so bg is a little closer to tim

-kyborg was marked by either the Desolation or the Extinction (which ever one Quadron fits best).

-Probably becomes an avatar of the slaughter and tries to hunt him down

-bart is gum gum's adoptive brother after he was marked by the Dark which ate his parents (victims of the Church of the Divine Host)

-gum gum was marked by the Hunt (Entropa as a dog). He gets not-them'd and no one realizes it

-the jane prentiss invasion still happens and its revealed what happened to gum gum and it seriously fucks up the whole gang (bart lost his brother, kyborg failed to protect his friends, mudd realizes he was fooled by something that hes been trying to hunt for ages)

-idk who would be the elias stand in here honestly but its not like the rest are one to one. Maybe mayor prattle? Luz?

-bart probably tries to leave and become a crew member of the tundra and avatar of the lonely. Or he also gets eaten by the dark

-kyborg tim stoker style makes a final stand against quadron

-maybe marcy and and bo can be basira and daisy respectively (the eye and the hunt)

-slique and spectril? Melanie and georgie? Doesnt rlly work. Idk how these guys fit here

-i do have specific episodes associated w/ the old infinights tho. -Marcy is MAG 38 lost and found (vase ate my husband),

-Leonard is MAG 85 upon the stair (fading in n out of existence based off his magic books)

-Ostin is MAG 42 Grifter's Bone (music that fucks you up)

-Bo is MAG 71 underground (a train tried to eat me but i wasnt scared so it didnt)

-i think it would be neat if mudd just decides "fuck the eye, im gonna go be an avatar of the buried or the corruption or smth"
