TBH the rebelling Shadowclan apprentices thing could have actually been so better utilized if the writers just… actually decided what they even wanted them to be angry about

Idk I feel like every time it was brought up in the books the reason would always change or be so weak I cant help but roll my eyes at their complaining which?? I dont think the authors intented?? at least for characters like needletail????

Cause as much as I love her, I refuse to acknowledge her bonus chapter with the owl because it was such a weak and almost laughable excuse for why she did everything she did, there were so many better and much more interesting plots they could have used that would have actually given Needle some cool depth but no urm “everyone thought i died and now im sad when 99% of other victims in my situation do die” (I reread the scene for the sake of this post despite that tho)

The whole owl thing was meh but something more important to me was the last sentence in which we see Needlepaw start getting bitter about the way Clan cats often treat outsiders

Now I really do think this could have been something really interesting to continue throughout the arc especially with the Shadowclan apprentices

The code is so flawed and it would have been so incredibly refreshing to see cats actually speak out against it ESPECIALLY when it came to how Clan cats often view and treat outsiders. All of avos had very prominent characters that were outsiders to the clans (Violet and Twig, Tree, The Kin, Skyclan technically for a time)

And Needletail is a cat who could speak for all kinds of cats, she’s a clan cat however she admits to cozing up to Twolegs, she is casual and friendly with kittypets (SOMETHING THAT OUR PROTAGONIST ALDERPAW WAS HORRIFIED AT MIND YOU) and she was also pretty friendly with Tree too. She’s seen firsthand how Clan cats are no different than other cats, yet they still believe they are above others because their code, which is super icky and flawed in some apsects

This could have been such a cool reason for her to begin rebelling and perhaps a better excuse for why she joined Darktail’s Kin

IDK IDK I JUST THINK AVOS COULD HAVE BEEN INTERESTING IF IT WENT INTO HOW THE CLANS SHOULD STOP ACTING SO HIGH AND MIGHTY BECAUSE THEY HAVE A flawed CODE AND THAT YOUR ORIGIN SHOULD NOT EFFECT HOW YOU ARE TREATED IN THEIR SOCIETY Rouges/loners are not immediately bad because they follow no code even if some cats are still bad (ex Tree/Violetkit and Twigkit and Darktail) and just because you do have a code doesn’t mean you still cant be a bad person to (ex Junpierclaw) And it would have been a good set up for the further changes done to the code in TBC

I want Clans to accept loners and rouges in more, I want them to be friendly to kittypets despite their lifestyle (firestar was literally a kittypet but whatever thunderclan its only been a year since he died yeah lets just go back to xenophobia or whatever!!) I WANT THINGS LIKE DAYLIGHT WARRIORS BACK

The rebellion from the apprentices and SkyClan’s unfamiliar customs/roots (as in most cats are all from or were rouges/kittypets etc) would have been such a good eyeopener to how the Clans should view others with more respect whether they are from a Clan or not IDK

ok we are feeling kid of cute rn actually I rewrote/reread everything i was like afraid of looking at again and I feel like the whole thing is just so much nicer of a foundation/experience now to reread. I'm pausing at a part that is a bit tricky because I want to do kind of a transition/montage between a couple of days/weeks before the big ending scene that I need to rewrite from the version that's been in my drafts for YEARS, but i need to decide which kind of amorphous transitionary scenes I can put in this space vs which ones i need more space in the timeline to develop. Part of why it's hard is that some key scenes in the chapters have these sort of core seasonal settings that are important to the atmosphere and I don't want to break realism too much by fudging the timeline eg being like they knew each other for months but its still february bc you know it was january in chapter 3 but for the big ending scene of chapter 4 it is important to have kind of mid to late february vibes visavis the emotions and headspaces and seasonal depressions at play but is that enough time for the emotional states of the characters to shift to where they need to be for some of the scenes I want? Ok maybe I have to like move some of the things to the next chapter.. OH ok like i had a part that I wanted to have KDJ be confused about something YJH wrote at the end of this chapter but maybe he gets to be confused/allarmed about it next chapter instead.

#maybe i should rewrite/reread the end scene first and then fill in the in between like a bridge/gap? but also that can be a struggle for me #bc i think one of the strengths i need to play more to in my writing style is that I sort of enjoy feeling like I am Absorbed in like a #Continuous World/narrative to figure out what is going on/going to happen next #personal #i think it will help me to reread the end part i already wrote bc im only just now remembering that its more like the first time #yjh and KDJ trying to look at one another as a Person more than it is like them being bffs or anything like that lmao

xan's candle event is so funny to me. you have to choose 1 specific option for the candles to even be significant to your charname, and yet the next day xan presents you with a lit candle no matter what you said, and if you're like um is that supposed to represent something, he's like yes but also no, and i will not explain, and also i'm still going to use this as a symbol to make a promise to you, even though i literally refuse to elaborate

Kazuichi Soda reassuring his S/O who is afraid of him leaving and feels is unlovable.

✿ When your feelings appeared to you about your fear, it didn't take Kazuichi long at all to notice something was troubling you. Even if you had your feelings hidden so well to the point even you eventually forgot about them, Kazuichi would still have sensed something because he's so in tune with everything about you.

✿ He'll talk to you right away. He's worried about what is wrong and what is causing it. He wants you feeling your best and this boy will do anything in his power to make you feel your best.

✿ Now, even though he will talk to you right away, he'll actually lead a conversation into the direction of talking about what's troubling you. Instantly talking to you about your troubles could catch you off guard and make you panic. He doesn't want that at all.

✿ Kazuichi will sit down with you, lay down with you, whatever you're most comfortable with, and stay silent for a few moments. He's making sure you're comfortable before he begins the conversation. His voice is so gentle as he speaks.

✿ "I wanted to ask, how have you been feeling?"

✿ I said he was in tune with everything about you but at this moment, somehow his senses have never been so alert. He's worried about triggering you.

✿ He'll wait for your response. Nothing in the world matters right now except for you. However long you take, he'll wait. He will, however, throw in some more words as a hopeful comfort while he waits for your response.

✿ If you end up shaking, crying, doing both, or something else because your emotions are coming forward, if you let him, his arms are around you in an instant. His hold will be strong but not hurtful. He will be your wall. Right now, nothing will get to you as you're in his arms. Nothing can overpower Kazuichi when he's holding you. This time, if you prefer to not be touched he'll let your hand go and speak instead, saying small words such as "You're alright. You're alright. I'm not leaving. Let it out."

✿ Hopefully you'll talk to him about how you were feeling and what was troubling you. He's happy that you're opening up to him. He's proud of you. So proud. He'll actually remind you randomly how proud he is for you opening up to him. He'll also remind you how much he loves you. He'll do this for days and days and days.

✿ What he said were words of true love and emotion. You didn't even have to say anything and his first thoughts were to remind you how loved you were. He can't leave you. You're the other 1 to his 1+1 =2. You're the other half to his couple. You put color and light into his life. You put an emotion in him that's stronger than happiness. Nothing can ever top it. Nothing will ever be better. Nothing will ever change his love for you. Nothing.

✿ Because of the feelings you had, Kazuichi has decided with himself to have a daily and nightly check up with you and how you're feeling, physically and emotionally (He once said "That's rad!" when you told him you were feeling good and now it stuck. He's saying rad at everything.). He'll be there for you for however long as you need, whenever you need, about whatever is troubling you. The love he has for you is just...its incredible. Its so beautiful. People say perfect doesn't exist but try telling him that and he will argue forever on why that's false and that there's someone in his life to prove that perfect does exist.

Thoughts on Riverstar? I find him interesting, especially considering he objects to early clan life but ultimately becomes a leader despite that

River Ripple is actually one of the most interesting parts of DotC and if the Erins actually cared about how Clan Culture evolved, they would have made him a much bigger player in DotC. But no, instead, we've smacked the climactic Battle of Fourtrees in the MIDDLE of the arc to make room for the Clear Sky Redemption Arc That Isnt Even A Redemption Arc.

But hey at least we got One Eye and Slash. We all remember One Eye and Slash right. Those were villains that definitely didnt feel forced and entirely completely didnt contribute to the 'evil foreigner' thing that warrior cats as a series is plagued with

No it doesn't count if you only remember One Eye through CheeCats, CheeCats has a massive brain and can do whatever they want forever. If you or a loved one has started shipping River Ripple x One Eye as a result of CheeCats you may be entitled to financial compensation.

But enough grinding my teeth over the parts of DotC I don't like. This is about Riverstar, a part of DotC that I DO like

Cats of the Park

The Cats of the Park have such a fascinating culture, and it seems to have a bunch of the 'missing pieces' that the Sun Trail cats don't share with their descendants. The mentor/apprenticeship system, the nature reverence, the changing of names after significant events, the rigid schedules and rituals of their daily lives...

Even the leap to worshiping STARS comes from River Ripple and the Cats of the Park.

Heck, it would have been super cool if the Clan cats actually got to react to the destruction of the Park. I think that would have been a really fun and horrific way to rise up the tension, put more stress on the forest to feed a sudden influx of cats, and establish that humans are starting to encroach.

ESPECIALLY if it happened after Thunder Rising, you know? Set up River Ripple as one of Thunder's good friends, helping him realize that his relationship with his biodad is toxic. Then he falls into the river but comes out okay, instilling a reverence of the forest in ALL of his friends

Riverstar Himself

It's really cool to see that River himself is so relaxed about everything, it's a fun and refreshing mindset that we don't get in very many cats, ESPECIALLY not after the rigidity of Clan life is established in later books.

I think that would have been a super cool contrast to the invasive mountain cats, with Clear Sky bringing his concept of borders and battles, and River Ripple trying to appease him with teamwork and diplomacy... and Thunder, Wind Runner, and Tall Shadow realizing it is not going to work.

So I think if there's one thing I really don't like about River Ripple as a character, it's how he doesn't get dragged into the bigger conflicts.

I don't think any character should have gotten that luxury, especially not someone who will become a leader later on. I think the writers let him have too much of an easy time hiding behind his river and watching everything happen from afar.

He does get involved in the One Eye and Slash conflicts, of course... but personally it just feels kinda weak.

Like, he understands the purpose of getting involved AFTER witnessing the corpse-making event at Fourtrees, not suffering loss or injury exactly because he minded his own business? Feels backwards to me.

So to be clear: What I WANT is for him to not want to get involved, but the plot should keep dragging him back in against his will.

Anyway, overall I really like the guy.

#Warrior Cats Analysis #I have a lot of ideas for how I plan to rewrite DOTC and it's one of the few arcs I am willing to massively overhaul #and for the record i will actually be making River Ripple x One Eye a part of it because it's my kitchen and im hooked. #I really think there's just. another day, another round of me wracking my brain trying to come up with a good fnaf timeline. this time i came to the conclusion that i should just make an au where i leave out a bunch of stuff at this point if i want to work with my own story ��

ok this turned into a LONG rant id normally just put on my other blog but as i started here, im just gonna post it here. i also keep forgetting stuff and sometimes i come across a theory/fact that makes me go OOHH im so dumb i forgot. and it changes everything again and its probably happening again here

first, fnaf 2 is where i get stuck every single time. id love to just leave at least the toys out, sorry mangle. second, i just cant wrap my head around the whole "charlie was the first victim" idea because we get introduced to all this where we see the puppet in the toys location and the withereds.. it becomes too confusing for me. is it at the same location? was the puppet with the ogs and the toys were added later? i would say the toys are irrelevant and havent been added until the ogs were withered. anyway, i believe will could have stuffed the kids into the ogs prior to killing charlie, which would make more sense if the puppet was possessed later and then gave them life? whether the toys are or arent posessed is not important to me as much (just confuses me. like if they werent there would it change the story??), or rather it lacks some closure, like the ogs have eventually been destroyed and the spirits let free, but for the other kids (that people say are possessing the toys), we dont even know their names! or how they ended. i always think of the theories how will destroyed the ogs to take remnant from them to use in the funtimes, but nobody ever thinks of the fact that he just gets springlocked right after which would make No sense. the funtimes are an odd thing, i guess you could apply he actually took it from the toys, but why would he? is there proof? if theyre programmed to snatch kids directly, hed have enough remnant and not have to get it from previous animatronics. that said, i believe the SL location and funtimes were made early on, but had to have this kidnap/kill function only after charlies murder because if she was the first and the point of her being the first was that will found out about remnant and possession, he would want to start experimenting with it then. however, i do prefer charlies murder to be out of jealousy towards henry after losing elizabeth, which would mean the funtimes would be existing at this point (because of eliz death). or perhaps the funtimes have been a project of his (i have this little coffin theory. probably dumb, basically just each character is there to hold the body/spirit of each afton family member, baby and ballora are obvs, funfred would be cc with bonbon in the place of the walkie talkie plush to control him.. and foxy for mike, but this doesnt work unless william knows about the posession...) but baby killed elizabeth and he wanted to get her back... wouldnt then finding out about charlie and the puppet be like way too convenient? like hey, this is exactly what you need. ...and how long can a spirit persist within an object until possession using remnant? or this kind of "activation" like in give life.

now this brought me to thinking about springtrap and when exactly was he "revived". as well as other time things.. such as, i thought the spirit "degrades" over time, loses sense of self - but i guess that would apply more after the possession starts. hinted at with scrap baby, she has been baby for so long its no longer elizabeth. but springtrap, and then scraptrap, is william seemingly after decades unless his spirit possessed spring bonnie only around the time they found him? big think

and then back to the general timeline. i cant even pinpoint the very start which bugs me, so it always all starts in '83, (after fredbears existing for a bit) when i assume the bite triggered the nightmare experiments, also closing of fredbears. i think there was a freddys at that time already where the first mci would happen but as i said i like the idea of will stuffing the kids into the withereds. maybe not, maybe i gotta let that go but its just such a nice idea. theyre just there in the back, nobody cares about them, the perfect place. then he can be the one to fix them up into their fnaf 1 glory, but this applies to it even if they were stuffed there much earlier and the withering happened Because Of the decay (probably makes more sense too! so i will try to work with that instead) and you see! no puppet yet. but also no possession. hed fix them up after, put them in their own new location and go ham. as in, he also has the saferoom there with the spring bonnie suit to use. nobody suspects a thing. (i also think the golden freddy/fredbear suit could be there and thats how we got golden freddy) but you see, with this we could just throw fnaf 2 out entirely.. whether we had the withereds or not, it doesnt matter, toys dont bring much to the table other than the bite of 87, no? the puppet could work perfectly in fredbears or freddys, just waiting her turn

see what i have to live with. i already helped myself a ton by accepting that henry is just in jail after the first mci/post fredbears so i dont have to work with him too. he wasnt framed, only in charge as the owner.. and we got fazbear entertainment taking while william has afton robotics. as in, they split at some point (after the bite?) and then he works under fazent in various locations, many times under aliases. Oh which brings me to.

in this year of 2023, they finally made me care about fritz! only because its william. to me. i have no proof! other than the clickteam teaser saying "fritz", but showing dave. (if its not him im fucked.) plus, isnt all we know about him literally just an employee kicked out on the first day for tampering with the animatronics (and smelling bad)? wouldnt william do something like this? get inside, if he cant he will take another identity (a name of one of his victims even) to get in to fuck around with the animatronics. why not just go there as william?? he once owned this place..? WELL now comes another juicy part (oh god crunch is going insane) he got kicked out! he cannot be in the location. why do i think that? midnight motorist. yeah.. okay i now love the idea that rye put out there, in the house its mike and a babysitter or aunt (movie helping with the lore!!!) and the footsteps are golden freddy luring him out (movie again!! its only 2 footsteps because GF doesnt walk!! he floats!!) but that aside, im thinking of the JRs part. this doesnt matter other than a hint at other stuff, metaphors and parallels and such. JR could be fredbears previously, yeah i dont argue with any of that, but it also makes me think of it as a paralell to the toy location. a place he got kicked out of, maybe not just once, perhaps the night he killed charlie he had just been kicked out (for various reasons) which amplified his anger as we see in MM after being kicked out of JRs, ending with him killing charlie (which i think was a tiny tiny bit premeditated in the way he was jealous of henry and his happy little family, now getting this chance) much to think about

okay that was meant to be a closing sentence but i also thought of one more thing. and one more thing!! i was a firm and calm and collected believer of fnaf 1 taking place in '93. then came the movie, making it in the 2000s. and it changed me to the worse! i started reading up on it and found out that its all just a theory that majority latched onto and decided to take as fact. as well as the idea that springtrap was locked in for 30 years. wont factcheck rn but it was apparently 30 years from the first location being closed, not since the springlocking. which means theres no set time between that and fnaf 3. on top of that someone was saying it made more sense for fnaf 1 to take place 10 years after that, so around 2003 instead, and it made sense to me then, so yeahh...

it also ties better to help wanted onward (though fnaf3 happening later would make the previous events more mysterious, why wouldnt they look into the location sooner?) and SB not taking place in like 2050s but 2030s or so (if its true that SB is happening 10 years after the pizzaplex opening). holding onto the game!vanessa is an afton theory even stronger after the movie! i talked about it b4 but had no proof. and so we dont have any literal grandpas making babies, the sooner it goes on the better. if vanessa is ~23 during help wanted, this way shed be born sometime in the 90s or early 2000s (this kinda applies even if HW took place in 2023 right after fnaf3 but since i think it happened sooner then i would prefer to go with the 90s) and. and will could have gotten laid one last time :] and have vanessa. think about it. (yeah how old is he again... it works right? also having to put him into a straight relationship after all of this is criminal, i know. im sorry, i will do better. (lie))

hhehehehe I love being able to write abt my ninja boys, I had a long period that was Just frustrating struggle akin to dragging through mud cuz nothing was wording but the stars must be aligned right now cuz I was working on this wip I had and it’s been GOING (rereading bookmarked ninjago fics did its wonders<3) n it’s v insanely fun to work on. and oh my god I have to say Jay is my fav character to write so far he’s so <3 I want him in my pocket!!!!!!!!!!

Jay looked over. Cole was walking towards them, Kai alongside him. They went out to scout the area. There was something in their expressions that lit up hope in Jay.

He sprang to his feet. “What is it? Did you guys find something? Are we going home? Did you hear from Master —”

“Woah, hold your horses sparky.” Cole said. “Nothing like that.”

“There’s pretty much nothing out there,” Kai said. “Just a bunch of more weirdly tall trees —”

“But just as we were about to give up, we came across some kind of weird pavement.”

“Weird pavement?” Zane questioned.

“Yeah,” Cole said. “It was made of yellow and pink coloured stone. We followed it and found a place I think we can shelter in.”

“That’s the best news I could have heard. No, the second best news.” Jay said, excitedly. “The best news would be being able to get out of this place but this is the next best thing. I hope it has a bath. I need a bath desperately.”

He felt all sweaty and awful under his ninja garb. It wasn’t warm here, leaning on the cold side but — Jay didn’t know what exactly it was. His skin felt weird under his ninja garp. Itchy, too warm and terrible. Because he hadn’t, urgh, changed out of it in hours even after they had that fight and got rolled in dirt. A lot.

It wasn’t their greatest moment.

“I don’t know about your bath,” Kai said. “We didn’t check inside. There’s some kind of lock but we figure Zane should be able to crack it.”

my main hurdle with my dcaf fic is my depression but my 2nd task-related hurdle is not knowing what eichi should be doing at my ambiguous and butchered chosen place in time--- nvm see the notes
