#i am looking. i am looking. i am looking.#i played through this ENTIRE GAME for the attilan chapter and it's straight up 20 minutes long 😭#i spent THREE HOURS stuck in the dark dimension for maybe 30 seconds of background bb #KARNAK AND TRITON WERENT EVEN MENTIONED.... MY BOYS......#not the mention crystal and ms marvel are the only playable inhumans iirc #i know its on me for setting my expections up when im playing a 20+ hour game for one chapter #but man. i feel like all the others were at least an hour or two. and the inhumans one is SO SHORT :(#im not even good at the game so i know i wasnt accidentally cheesing the fights!!!#but i did screenshot a bunch of the gallery art to share at least #as short as the chapter was i WAS loudly describing what was happening to my sister in the next room over #'attilan!! its attilan!!' the partition.

ok first of all im not indian or pakistani, im sri lankan. so i dont know much about the partition BUT i know the struggle of being under the british rule cuz my country was also invaded by british for over a hundred years. and lemme tell ya it was bloody, lot of dirty politics and LOT OF innocent people died. in conclusion british rule messed up south asian countries ALOT.

so as i said idk alot bout the partition but dude.... watching it in ms marvel was hard, like i know this was real and having lived through a 30 yr long civil war.... it was triggering. BUT i cannot imagine how hard it was for everyone who had to go through that struggle. i mean having to say goodbye to ur loved ones not knowing whether ull ever see them again... its fucking hard. and now knowing if ud survive the night and the uncertainity? just- no. and im thankful for marvel for showing the partition story without sugar coating it. overall marvel did a good job of showing everyone just how much the british rule messed up our countries. and this is just the surface. we learn bout how the british killed our people and the unspeakable stuff they did to our families at school and its very rarely the western countries get to know our struggle (NO HATE TOWARDS U GUYS CUZ ITS NOT UR FAULT AND UR GUYS R AWESOME)

marvel did a good job with showing the life of immigrants and the partition.

⚠ MS MARVEL 106 SPOILERS ⚠

Alright…

I honestly was not expecting much of this episode but since Iman said it was good, I decided to believe it was.

And i was not disappointed. Like, the first thing we see is Kamala's family supporting her, her mom giving her a suit. Ms. Marvel's suit. I'm sorry if I'm emotional.

Nakia calls her asking if she's known something about Bruno, she says no and goes looking for him.

I liked that joke with the red light. Ngl.

Nakia, you're a hero and I love you. How you had everyone showing their id's to DC. Nice.

I also loved that disguise reference with the caps. They only needed a pair of shades and they would be unrecognizable.

Zoe joining them was something I did not expect but liked.

Wait a gOD DAMN MINUTE! Deever was told to back down. She got a call specifically to be told that. And she didn't!! She decided to fully attack kids hiding in a school. She even called the special unit!

I also did not expect Zoe going live for her followers to help, even less having those following actually helping.

I just-- I really liked those sonic weapons DC had.

I hated with all my heart that almost kiss between Kamala and Kamran. I hated that Bruno saw it, realizing he interrupted them.

Dude, when her power made it seem like her body expanded I was so excited.

And her, saving Kamran, buying him time so he could get out of there and to Kareem. Ily girl.

Also, those people running to her to create a wall between her and DC? Yes! We love to see that! Even the cops were in the front line!

And this f-ing agent was called out. Probably fired and I hope reported. I also hate her.

Bruno left this letter? inside a locker. I'm betting it is Kamala's locker and the letter says he's going to Calthec.

Kamala = Kamal = perfect = wonder = MARVEL. “Our little Ms. Marvel.” ajsñdkdñs.

I also believed with all my heart there were gonna be some Skrulls and I was again disappointed.

But having Carol Danvers in Kamala's room, saying “Oh, no, no, no.” And bursting out of the picture was something I did not expect AT ALL. No what?

Edit: I just remembered one of Kamala's powers is polymorphism so it was not actually Carol in her room. I apologize. Xd

idk if it’s just me but i keep getting videos popping up in my recommendations on youtube like “why marvel’s phase 4 sucks!” or “here’s how marvel is flopping” or i see posts of people explaining how marvel is drying up with their phase 4 content and…. you know what. it is perfectly fine to have criticism for marvel. lord knows they are NOT perfect. but i just find it so interesting that as soon as we start having an actual range of characters/hero’s that aren’t middle aged white men, people want to assume that marvel is flopping and that NOW they’re milking the franchise (like. cmon now. really?). they wanna talk about how marvel is milking it with things like ms marvel or shang chi, but then get SO excited for thor love and thunder or the doctor strange movie. they didn’t like tfatws but wandavision they called modern day art. yeah marvel isn’t perfect and they definitely get away with a lot because of their fans being loyal , but tbh im so sick of these marvel fanboys making videos or posts saying that now that tony stark is dead and chris evans is gone it’s time for marvel to be finished..

it’s… it’s almost like these movies and tv shows weren’t made for them……… yknow? they had their time to enjoy the movies catered to them. let others enjoy it now.

Can I tell you guys how excited my nephew is to sit down and see Ms Marvel every week??? Im Pakistani, but he's literally Pakistani American. He literally can't sit still in his seat the entire time and laughs at all the jokes! (He's a little young for the demographic of the show, but we check the episode beforehand to make sure there's nothing he would understand).

And his family are all going to Karachi for Eid next week. So imagine his delight realizing that Kamala's Nani also lives there! Suddenly its not just a family visit, it's an extension of Ms. Marvel. And that's amazing!

Kamala is just so so cool and RELATABLE!!!

She's not your hero hero but someone like you and me and that makes her so so fucking cool (also Iman is a legend)

I'll say it again and again the Ms. Marvel show was one of the best ones for me and the style of it was something new as well.

Also secret invasion is (hopefully) going to be a really cool movie that focuses more on the spy side of marvel (the earlier marvel movies and agents of shield kinda vibe if you get me)

And I just love Maria Hill! She so damn cool even though she has not nearly enough screen time and I'm hoping to see more of her

man i gotta say... even with YA getting more diverse ms marvel is still my favorite muslim teenager rep bc i feel like it's probably the best story that's still readable/watchable to american audiences, and because kamala is so.... real. like i remember being a dorky extremely online 16 year old with a stuffed animal obsession! if you replaced kamala's avengers obsession with anime and emo bands you would literally have awkward 16 year old me! which meant the world to me when i read it when i was 16, because so much fiction with muslim characters is about the cool-girl valedictorian hijabi, and indeed i was surrounded by cool-girl valedictorian hijabis but was clearly not one myself. i also feel like......... i liked how ms marvel wasnt really romantic. i mean there was romance obvs but it wasnt the main point of the show and i would love to see more stories about muslim teenagers that is less cute YA romance specifically and more science fiction/fantasy or entirely nonromantic. and i appreciated how ms marvel actually showed how horrific the partition of india was, because for all of the education we get on gandhi, we get...... pretty much no exposure to the fact that partition was a mass death event that still heavily affects south asian politics today. we dont even really learn that partition was at all bad unless we look into it ourselves.

ultimately i am very excited for polite society because 1) i have been waiting all my life to see a pakistani teenager throwing hands in full desi formalwear and 2) nimra bucha absolutely KILLS the evil mother vibe in ms marvel so im very ready to see it again in polite society

ik im probably late but here are my thoughts on ms marvel so far (im on the 5th eps rn) first i procrastinated watching ms marvel cuz im a south asian girl myself who LOVES marvel from the bottom of her heart and i was skeptical bout the south asian representation cuz obv this is western media and unfortunately they hv a way of stereotyping south asian culture.

BUT OH BOY WAS I WRONG! I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW. AMAZING TOP NOTCH MWAH! AHHHHH *SCREAMING* SO FUCKING PERFECT! THE STORYLINE N HOW THE PAKISTANI CULTURE IS SHOWN BOTH IN KARAACHI AND NJ IS JUST- WOW. EVERYTHING IS JUST AMAZING AND THE FAMILIARITY? IT WAS LIKE HOME (ofc not the superhero parts) BUT EVEYRTHING ELSE? THE EID, THE WEDDING THE VISIT TO KARAACHI, MARKETS? AHHHH. LIKE DUDEE THE THREE WHEEL CHASE? AMAZING. GOSH AND HOW THE VENDERS CHARGE UNGODLY AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR SIMPLE SHIT? YES ITS VERY IRL.

AND THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS? THATS LIKE ALMOST EVERY MOTHER DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP IN SOUTH ASIA! UH DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE AUNTIES! AND AISHA'S STORY? THAT WAS SOME BOLLYWOOD ROMANCE SHIT BRO ISTG IT CAN BE A MOVEI OR SMTH like WOW. im excited for the finale!

also i just started an internship too?! (this furthers my suspicions that the multiverse is real..) but my boss didn’t show up for my first day and no one knew what to do with me so i just sat in a couch for six hours. i wish this was a lie. needless to say, i had a pretty shitty day lmao. how’s your internship been?

i’ve got weird thoughts about graduating high school. i just want to be a kid again and make mud pies and fairy grass food again (yes, i was one of those kids who played fairies lmao)

i haven’t watched ms. marvel, but i will soon- v excited to see some good south asian rep! god my memory of ninjago is so blurry, but i remember being obsessed with it and having a crush on one of them. i can’t remember which, but they’re all kinda cute in a plastic toy sort of way.

omg i played fairies too!! from first grade to third grade i had everyone convinced that i was a fairy for real and pretended i had to go visit fairyland and i had a sister there (other than my real life sister) and everything and i would put my head on the seat in front of me on the bus with my friends and hide my face and say i was sending my soul to fairyland i was. hot ig idc, but then something Happened in third grade (trauma event LOL) (its actually kind of funny now but its a loooong story so) and then everyone in the grade hated me including people ive literally never met before?? so i kind of dropped it. SAD wish i could be a fairy forever. well at least i am gay. on the bright side, you can still make mud pies and fairy grass food as an adult!! you can also make REAL pies and REAL fairy grass food omg!!!! whats more magical than macerated blueberries in puff pastries?? i will make fairy food with you i promise

Of course! I love the MCU (and Spider-Man)😍

I’m an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man defender for the the rest of my life and not ashamed to say it😌 I’m really interested to see how they continue on from No Way Home though? Cause that broke me😭 And also, I do love the spider-verse so much and Miles might just be my fave overall Spider-Man ever. Those animated movies…when I tell you I am physically buzzing with excitement for the third one I’m not kidding lmao

Speaking of the MCU though: I actually saw Captain Marvel in the cinema 4 times I think? The shows got a little overwhelming for me so I’ve only seen Wandavision, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, and I might start Secret Invasion only because they filmed in a town near me lmao

IM SO EXCITED FOR THE MARVELS IN NOVEMBER THOUGH! Don’t get me started on that hype lmao

My favourite trilogy/movie ‘series’ though might be Guardians, purely cause that last one was just a masterpiece (Thor would have been up there if it wasn’t for 2 lmao)

And Black Widow deserved more than her singular solo movie😤

Imma be completely honest, I’m literally only here as a Marvel Fan because of MK and WWBN, the writing of everything else is atrocious.

This is my fifth year being an mcu fan so i definitely have not been following it since the beginning but those two definitely are the best of phase 4.

I know this isnt' what u asked for but i'm bored here are my ratings for phase 4:

Moon Knight. I'm not going to write all the reasons i love it bc that would turn into an entire essay lol but this show is phenomenal and has captured my heart and soul

Werewolf by Night. again, just like moon knight, it's creative and cinematic and perfect in every way

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It's funny, got good action, emotional parts, and i live for shang and katy's relationship. they're so funny and i'm eternally glad they didn't force them into a weird romance

Ms. Marvel. the kids were written like kids and kamala is so dorky and cute. i know a lot of ppl didn't like her for some reason but she also lives in my heart

Hawkeye. This is just bc im one of those comic book nerds and have read every single hawkeye book and have merch and stuff lol I'm a diehard fan and loved pointing out all the little details even if it deviated from the comics

Black Widow. I think people are right that Yelena did steal the show a little bit but i love it anyway. It always makes me cry. every time.

Thor: Love and Thunder. I liked this movie! I saw it in theaters multiple times and enjoyed it. I can see the reasons behind people's critiques and do agree that the first half felt a bit weirdly paced but the second half really saved it for me

WandaVision. I'm just a sucker for Wanda and Vision lol They were my first mcu ship and i'm glad they finally got a spotlight. ppl complain abt the ending but i thought it was pretty good

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I loved seeing all the different dynamics that came up in this show and the real world problems it addressed. It also made me cry. I loved Sam and Bucky but Karli really stole the show for me and I was on her side the whole time lol

What If...? I actually really liked the reimagining of the characters and the odd pair ups. It was fun to see all the new interactions we would never get in canon. I think the watcher was weird and didn't need to fight ultron but the rest of it was good. Also the animation was beautiful. I was on the edge of my seat trying to get a better look at it the whole time lol

Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was a really good movie but I haven't seen all the og spider man movies so i didn't know who a lot of the villains were. and peter could have thought his little stunt at the end through a bit more but oh well. Still funny though

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It was really exciting to see America (i'm also a fan of her comics) but really I was rooting for wanda the whole time lol Ofc I knew that america would live bc they need her for the young avengers but it was really fun seeing wanda be in her villain era. they did her dirty at the end tho and basically had her learn the lesson she just learned in wandavision... which was also the lesson she learned in civil war. when will they give my girl a new arc? also i'm in denial, I refuse to believe she's dead :) (and also dr strage was in it too ig)

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. This was fun, I had a good time. It was really funny and finally confirmed that peter and mantis were siblings but i don't think i'll watch it any time other than christmas (unlike werewolf by night which is a year round event lol)

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. ok this one got a lot of hate but i don't see why? i didn't think it was bad, i just wasn't gripped by the story. i only watched up to episode three so i can't judge the whole thing but it was a bit too slice of life-y for me to be engaged w the story but as far as i can tell, that's jen's thing. The parts that i did see weren't poorly written and it's not the shows fault the animation was so bad (cough marvelwon'tlettheiranimatorsunionize cough)

Eternals. Same problem as she hulk. it wasn't bad, it just wasn't interesting. I only made it through half the movie before i left but i was really confused by who was who. i kept getting them mixed up

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The only reason this is so low is because I haven't seen it yet. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews so i'm sure it'll go up to the top of the list but i can't judge it until i see it

Loki. I hate this show, i hate it so much. I am so fucking mad abt this bc it had so much potential! I've also read the loki comics and i think those set my bar too high. yes, the show acknowledges loki is bi but they make him fall in love with another version of himself instead of doing anything w that. yes, they acknowledge he's genderfluid but we never see it, not even in flashbacks. he's trying to redefine who he is and stuff but i was so distracted by the horrible self-cest romance, that i was actively rooting against, to notice character development. If you want a good story about a bisexual, genderfluid loki redefining themself in the most beautiful way, read the Loki: Agent of Asgard comic run

my ms marvel brain dump-

I love her character so much personally, spiderman (another young relatable teen superhero) isn’t super relatable to me, basically the only thing i have in common with him is our terrible anxiety in social situations.

ms marvel is a character who is more interested in the pop culture contents that im heavily interested in (cosplay as an example), and her character is far more relatable personality wise imo, and overall a very exciting character to watch because i can genuinely watch the show and be like” i would have done the same thing when i was her age” and its an amazing feeling seeing characters in mainstream media with similar interests as me.

the tv show is amazing and i recommend reading to comics to cuz i read a few after watching a few episodes and they were very cool :)

(i tend to over analyze things sometimes but her as a character is so exciting to watch because i remember being just like her)
