I wanted to just reach out (not anonymous this time, tho feel free to publish if you want) and say that I discovered jimmysea through LT, and I treasure them so so much now, and I loved your posts about them and morkday, and I loved the experience of watching it weekly, despite the immense letdown of last ep (cried about it a lot already). so. idt it was useless nor a waste. <3 also, I'm 100% writing a fix it fic based on one of the things I THOUGHT this ep might do, lol.

posting a little later than i usually do. This week has been more of the same, so there isnt too much to talk about. i debated waiting until next week, i dont want to break my habit :P Onto my updates:

Almost done the anime ive been watching. its a little slice of life called 'スーパーカブ', which follows a girl who buys a titular Honda super cub and her daily life. id say its a moe show, but it feels more down to earth than that. lots of motor vehicle vocab. when im done the show i want to post a review of it here so i'll save my comments til then.

started playing とびだせどうぶつの森 again in earnest. i started the save almost a year ago and it was kind of overwhelming at first but its more manageable now. I should really play more immersion games on 3DS.

i tried writing a letter to my favourite villager, マキバースタ. I sent her an ironing board cause i thought it would look good in her house :)

didnt start any manga :(. i looked around for some and didnt really decide on anything in the end.

i also spent a day looking into japanese magazine subscriptions cause i wanted to read some of the shoujo manga magazines. turns out shipping paper products to rural BC is expensive, so i didnt get any. :( womp womp.

didnt end up taking new cards on anki this week. i honestly avoided it all week until the last few days and even then it wasnt so bad. hopefully i can start taking 2 or 3 new cards a day tho i really want to.

im still sitting at about 5 hours of immersion in this week. hoping that starting a new show might help bump it up again.

I think thats all! i feel like now that April is coming to a close and im almost a month back to learning japanese i havent been able to make as much progress as id like. But! im glad to be learning consistently again.

Good day! This is going to sound like I'm turning you into my personal human tripadvisor, (#sory) but you're a bucharestgirl so I feel the need to ask you for recommendations on things you personally enjoy seeing or doing around there. I've been there 3 times before but they were all short stays and I didn't get to plan them out at all, nor did I see as much as I'd have liked to see (also 2/3 stays are attached to bad memories. Cursed capital!). Purely hypothetical question, because I actually do not have any sort of trip mapped out or confirmed as of now, but I wanted to ask just in case. You Know...

Glad my #bucharestgirl nature can be of help! I do need to give you the disclaimer that I havent actually lived here since 2020 and i only come back on summer/winter breaks to hang out with my friends (which means i go to their apartments and/or to bars. If youre interested in that i can ask my bestie for her list of favs)

Now with that out of the way, I will try to remember my favorite places from back in highschool... if there's anything in particular you're interested in lmk, but this is a general list of things i think you might enjoy^_^

Well first you have to go to Cărtureşti. Verona and Carusel are the prettiest ones. It also helps that they're in very good locations. If you're at Carusel you can see centrul vechi (and right next to Cărtureşti there are art supply stores and 2 antique shops. One of them, the one on your left entering the gang, also sells handmade jewelry. If the lady is there that day, tell her you're a friend of mine and she might give you a discount. I really should pay her a visit the next time im in Bucharest).

Now, I imagine you would like to visit some museums too? I will not tell you about the national ones etcetc i'll tell you about one that maybe isn't in the tourist guides: Casa Filipescu-Cesianu. It's on Calea Victoriei, which has a bunch of other really cool places on the way. There's always Ateneu (behind it there's a sweets shop i quite like, Mara Mura). Oh also on Calea Victoriei there's the Green Hours Jazz Cafe that's quite nice if they have a performance (the food's good too though, if you just want a meal).

My favorite place to see plays Back In The Day (9th-10th grade lmao) was Centrul Replika. I'm trying to look at their website but I don't see any upcoming performances...

There's always the national theatre tho. And Teatrul Mic. And Bulandra. Teatrul Mic was my favorite out of this list.

Oh and for food...hmm... there's a Korean restaurant i like, Seoul, but it's not really in a central area. There's a cafe, Frog, that i used to go to weekly at some point. And if you feel like junk food, Switch Eat is my favorite. Maison des crêpes has good sweet and savory pancakes, i remember going a lot back in highschool. But im always on the lookout for new restaurants so if You find anything good lmk.

There are a bunch of wonderful parks (Herăstrău, IOR, Cişmigiu) if you dont feel like being in the city crowds. I also like watching the fountains at Piața Unirii. And there's always the malls if you Do want to be in a more commercial area (im a Park Lake girlie personally but like. They're all malls lmao)

But if anything catches your eye while you're here please please lmk, I find that I've been very disconnected from the city when I do go back. I hope you will have a better time in this hypothetical trip than in your previous ones<3

So... I have this client (Im a hairdresser) who’s basically my favorite because he speaks NERD (one of the VERY few I have around in RL) and-

(Well, let’s back up a tad: his friend came in last week and as he was about to leave, I told him to tell the nerd (affectionately) he needs to come in as it’s a) been too long (hairwise) and b) I needed him to geek out with! He then asked for what, and I said ‘The Last Of Us’ - even HIS face lit up (he played the game) but he hadn’t seen it yet, wanted to wait until it was ALL out and then binge it ARE YOU MAD? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF? Anyhow, A DAY LATER, my nerd called to make an appointment for that week! Which means, his friend actually CALLED him to tell him what *I* said! Due to unforseen circumstances I had to cancel him and reschedule for this week.)

So he came in yesterday! He was my last client for the day, boss had left early so I had him all to myself. And god, did I make use of that! Haircut: 30 minutes Total geekout: 90 minutes! 

He hasn't watched yet but LOVES the game, loved hearing me squeal and squee and swoon and wail about it, and can't wait to watch himself - IN ONE SESSION!  Again: how much emotional trauma can one person endure??? (Im so fucking glad it goes out weekly so I can at least TRY to get my shit together for the next week!!!) Anyhow, we already made a new appointment, and I really hope he has watched it by then so we can compare notes.

Also: it's REALLY hard to talk about details when we both know things but don't know WHAT those things are - pretty sure ‘normal’ people would’ve been very confused about our chat ; and after the last epi, I have a terrible feeling so that was a bit of a minefield. But since he's played the game I can at least wail at him without censoring myself the next time he comes in, whether or not he's actually watched by then.

Although, the poor thing has NO idea that episode 3 will punch him in the gut so hard he won't even remember the original story of Bill and Frank (didn't tell him even tho he asked for it!)

And as he left, he said, that what I was feeling: the squee, the LOVE and overall amazement about them getting this just perfect like this? That’s how HE feels playing it - Im pretty sure he’s going to LOVE it and I can’t wait for him to come back in April!!! GAH!!!

So yeah, just wanted to get that off my chest! Happy whenever-this-reaches-you-day (It’s Wednesday here)

the way i discover music is that i basically just look up pretty much anything that catches my ear LMAO whether that's on tiktok a song in a store etc. i also like to go on singers' spotify pages and read their bios bc some of them list insp and also spotify gives you a bunch of other recommended singers at the bottom of the page. spotify also curates a 'discover weekly' playlist for you every week and i've found so many amazing songs that way!

what do u think the st fandom is gonna be like after s5 drops and finishes.. like idk but I've just been wondering cuz this is the last time we're getting a new season 🤔 do you think it's gonna stick around or what? I noticed that usually after every season the fandom goes kinda radio silent after around a month but the fandoms still actually p active after s4 so. I wonder if the potential spin off is gonna keep the popularity up or even surpass it a la brba and better call saul(not that I think st is as good as those shows but I think they're both kinda iconic in their own ways)

i think stranger things will have a similar kinda legacy and impact as harry potter. the last movie came out in 2011 and its still a MASSIVE fandom and community that write, make fanart, make edits and gifs, collect merch, the whole shebang. the storys long done but the fandom has never died. i just went on ao3 and guess how many pages i had to go through just to reach a fic that came out more that two days ago….. TWENTY!!!!!???

stranger things is one of the only fandoms for a fictional media ive seen that is similar to the size and commitment of the harry potter fandom. i would say star wars also is a close comparison but a lot of people have mixed feelings about all the new ones (rightfully so honestly. daisy ridley slays but why the fuck did reylo kiss. thats not at all how you write enemies to lovers.) most star wars fans just love the classics like empire strikes back so the fandom isnt as strong as harry potter. and it doesnt really feel too much like a fandom in the same way that stranger things and harry potter do. i could go on about this but i’ll go back to my original point.

i dont think any passage of time will negatively affect the success of this show. you know how youve probably seen a bunch of iconic classic movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s that your family got you to watch? this will be the show of the 2010s that future generations will watch because their parents loved it. its not even that the show will go down in history, it already has!! its so cool to really look into how much of an impact this show has actually made. im really glad ive been able to witness it and have been watching the show since it first came out.

another thing that’ll probably keep this show iconic and new generations watching it is the kid actors. these are all of their first “big break”. theyre all probably gonna go on to play so many more iconic roles into their adulthood and eventually people will look at them in stranger things in the same way that we currently look at young winona ryder in beetlejuice. thats mad trippy to think about tho. in my head theyre all perpetually 14.

i think this fandom will always be active because there is just SO MUCH to talk about!!!! and this would be the case no matter what they ended up doing with the relationships and characters, but once byler is canon that’ll definitely play a huge role in keeping the fandom alive. people who have never seen the show will probably start watching it after they hear that the main characters are gay. no one will ever stop writing byler fics. people who really really love a specific couple or ship dont ever really lose interest. if you love the characters and love them together, that love never just goes away and people will ALWAYS want more content so theyll always love reading fics and seeing fanart. snowbaz is a good example of this. i read carry on when i was 16. i just turned 23 and i read snowbaz fanfiction all the fucking time. im currently reading one thats amazing and they update weekly and every monday i get so excited to read a story from characters that i was introduced to SEVEN YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!! that’ll probably be the same case for byler. and lumax too.

i think the spinoffs will definitely be talked about but i dont think theyll be the reason the fandom stays alive. i honestly kinda would rather it be more separate from the og stranger things. i hope its good and treated in the same way that fantastic beasts was treated and not the shitty new star wars movies. and you didnt ask this but i also have a hunch that the spinoff will be about kali.

to sum all that up, no i dont think this fandom will ever die. its so iconic.

So my favorite thing about this episode was (and I briefly mentioned this in the bullet points) how the pacing seems to fit the urgency of the Malivore threat. It reminds me a lot of season 1′s intensity regarding Malivore and I’m glad we’re switching the tone to properly showcase that as the MotW format was hindering the much needed tension.

I think all the main friendships were really strong! We got Lizzie and Kaleb friendship, Josie and Hope friendship, MG and Kaleb, and the one I’m most excited for, Landon and Cleo’s friendship. I’m really glad the show is exploring different friendship dynamic this season, it really helps solidify that the Super Squad really is a legitimate Squad of close friends.

Uh...well, y’all know how I feel about Mizzie and Lethan. Did not like it at all. It all just feels very forced and stupid especially when the strongest dynamic out of all three really is Methan and that should legit be the main ‘relationship’ focus (be it romantic or otherwise at this point).

Those Methan crumbs tho?!?!?! YALL I-

3 months ago I rewatched ouat and when binge watching, yeah captain swan gets together fast. They met, were something like allies and then enemies again, and they pretty much don’t get more interactions until the very last episode of s2 and just for a handful of minutes (in s2 they were still a “crackship” not for me tho😂) Then neverland’s pinning from hook and Emma obviously didn’t think it was for real, cursed for a year, Emma not wanting to acknowledge that she was into Hook and the last 2 episodes of s3 are literally captain swan heaven ending with them getting together. Back then it felt like ages😂 but we knew they were gonna get together (for me s3 made it obvious) and they might have kissed only once but they had beautiful moments in between that were much more meaningful and the pinning… 😮‍💨👌

But when you think abt it, shows nowadays are not even capable of that because like you say, they only have 8-10 episodes. And like 90% of them release the whole season the same day, so no weekly episodes or season hiatus. Maybe the waiting between seasons is 1-2yrs long but honestly the excitement is not the same, everyone is hyping for like 2weeks and then it quiets till next season comes out. Kids are not even used to watching a show of more of 15 episodes a season, I’ve heard them say “nah, too many episodes” and honestly I’m horrified 😅

So while I love captain swan with my whole heart, they’re not slowburn, if they had extended s3 pinning for more seasons we might have exploded 😂 And since ouat didn’t have a ton of seasons, Im glad they got together when they did because that way we got to enjoy them as a couple for 3 seasons (I still wanted to see them with their baby/toddler for more than 5 secs tho😭)

For example Mulder/Scully are slowburn, specifically since they were supposed to be “just friends”. Jane and Lisbon got together after 6 seasons, Brennan and Boot too, so yeah for 2000’s-2010’s that was slow burn, now it doesn’t exist

The thing about OUAT too is it’s much more of an ensemble show than, like, Bones or Castle or X-Files, which gives OUAT less time to spend a ship like Captain Swan so they have to get together quicker than on a show like that if, like you said, they want any time at all to see them interacting as an actual couple. Now, I WISH OUAT was more of an emma swan character study than an ensemble piece but that’s another story LOL.

Anyway, I’m like you in that I shipped captain swan since early s2! That said though I STILL think they could’ve teased out the will-they-won’t-they vibes for, like, another season. They were uncertain allies/sort of enemies throughout s2 then they kiss just a few episodes into s3 and it’s really not long after THAT that they really get together. I just think they could’ve DANCED a little longer because the chase is fun :)

I really miss long tv seasons. 🥺 I miss knowing when OUAT would go into production and following the news throughout the year - I really think that’s the last show of its kind I really watched, everything else is pretty much short streaming seasons. The law and order franchise is still out there I guess… (and incidentally, rollins and Carisi on SVU are a GREAT will-they-won’t-they slow burn).

But yeah I get how the 20-25 episode season is a little too long for today’s audiences just because the face of tv has changed so much unfortunately. I advocate for compromising with 15-16 episode seasons like USA Network and TNT used to do. That leaves a chance to develop relationships over a long period of time while not dragging on too long for the tiktok teens….

So where do I start now, maybe at the beginning. Im feeling a little better on here, even though today has been the perfect example for why some people should be banned from having access to the internet. I wont be online for the weekend though, dont know if I watch it anyways. Dont send me stupid asks. No one should care for my opinion on here, especially about athletes. You do you, I simply dont care. And dont follow me if you hate drivers. Those vibes are bad for my skin. Fuck off. Ugh.

Im happy for Daniel, his home GP means so much to him. Glad theyre back down under. I still hate people tho, especially certain bafoons. Work is being strange, thats that.

Hopefully I can write again soon.
