neuvillette's lore is actually insane. we all took one look at him and went "haha dragon🫵" but i significantly underestimated how big of a role he would play. he's the incarnation of the original hydro sovereign. he took back his rule right under the heavenly principles' nose. he's the one handing out hydro visions now (not even because he has to, he doesn't, he just grew so fond of humanity that he chooses to). he gave away the hydro gnosis bc he straight up doesn't need it. he's planning to DETHRONE ALL OF THE ARCHONS (in a few hundred years, when the traveler's not around to see it, so it won't be awkward for them). he's kind and soft-spoken. he's full of vengeful rage. he's a father to hundreds. he found his purpose after feeling lost for 500 years. skirk pulled him aside for a super-secret convo and when he saw us again he immediately spilled the tea. as far as i can tell, he spawned into existence fully formed. no other character can fucking compare

I remember someone saying that having police in Konoha was basically useless because the whole system is focused on creating soldiers, so why would they need a a completely separate unit of individuals solely for looking after the minority of civilians? Amazing point, and it also adds on to the fact that making the Uchihas cops was to further isolate them! Why was this whole unit of people just for dealing with petty civilian issues necessary? And why make one of your most important assets, the Uchihas, the group that leads this force, when they could be doing much more useful things like actually participating in the government and going on missions? We see that after the Uchihas massacre there's no more police force, and Konoha doesn't exactly struggle without them there, we don't see anyone else take the place of law enforcers either, so really, what was the whole point of them in the first place? As I stated before, this was all to alienate and isolate the Uchihas, making them seem "other" and increasing the distrust between both parties. The Uchihas "coup" (if it can even be called that since it was never even able to happen) was a result of the Uchihas finally having enough of the treatment by both the government at the time, and the village in general. The Uchihas didn't intend to take over the government, it was going to be a desperate attempt to be heard and have change take place so the Uchihas situation could improve. But instead of hearing them out, the Hokage decided to order their execution without thought for why they would even attempt such a rash thing, just brushing it off as the "curse of hatred", even though that's bullshit.

me, gearing up to explain why the dragon prince's latest seasons have continued to disappoint me, that while i love the lore and worldbuilding and characters there are clear pacing issues that are so jarring it takes me out of the experience, and that i say all of this with great love for the series but there's only so much good concepts can do before animation has to catch up in order to retain the average viewer's attention. that although season 4 and 5 have been branded as "the mystery of aaravos" the titular character barely appears and that is a crime to me, that even if it's for the suspense and intentionally leaving the viewer/main characters in the dark it's not doing a good job at building up his character and i fear for the exposition dump that will inevitably happen later on. that i will be harsh in critiquing this series because i love it so much and want it to be the best it can be: *inhales*

There was a kiddish glee in Seongjun's steps as he entered the house, shutting the door behind him and shrugging off his coat. He hummed casually, pretending not to notice you when you walked down the corridor to greet him. A grin grew on his lips as you began to question him about his surprise starting with an M.

You reply hesitatingly despite the obvious answer, and it makes Seongjun lean down to give you a kiss, softly telling you the speech he's had planned in his mind all day. He finishes it off with, "What do you say? Will you marry me, my dear?"

Seongjun cups your cheek as you smile. "Of course I will, Seongjun."

No words could express the euphoria Seongjun was feeling as he puts the ring on your finger. Deep in his heart, he was also feeling guilty, that he shouldn't be allowed to be this happy, but his heart eased when you held his hand and looked at him with gentle love. No matter what he felt, he was just glad to love someone so much and have them love him, too.

It's alright! It's due to a few things.

I've been too touchy regarding it for a while, when I noticed that anything I did wasn't remembered or hyped up for like most others, I took it way too much to heart. Even things not related to art, like finding some stuff that wasn't dug up for ages or archiving certain things, felt like others were credited or remembered but somehow I wasn't remembered for that either. I didn't want praise for that, but it still felt weird, it's hard to explain.

Then there was how similar stuff to mine was hyped up heaps, but when it came to mine it felt like a lot of those same people were only kinda trying to be nice - the kicker is the difference between mine and that other stuff was that my stuff was mostly trans based so that kinda made it feel sucky even if not intentional at all.

Then the fandom hasn't been exactly a ray of sunshine a lot of the time either for other reasons.

Annnd a large part of the fandom lately has been sharing and making stuff that is personally triggering to me and it is getting harder to avoid.

So all in all; I'm stepping back so I'm not feeling so attached to something like this and so I can stop letting these small things get to me - to feel bad about these things isn't something that should continue so the best I can do right now is to just stop interacting with the art side of it and the fandom.

The fact my explanation is that long is silly enough and more than enough of a reason to get myself away from it, pff haha.
