With only the sound of water softly splashing about, James finds himself content to run his hands over Regulus' bare body. A sacred and private moment between the two, with just them. Alone and away from social demands.

The water cools as the minutes pass but the warmth emitting from Regulus and him covers the chill. James presses himself closer to the other, brushing his lips again moistened and scarred skin. Regulus lets the tension in his shoulder seep out. Letting himself feel the love unspoken with words. His favorite way of loving.

In moments like these, not a single word could closely convey or even scratch the feelings of love and devotion between them. No words can express how much James loves Regulus as the younger leans against his chest, happy to take his lover's affections and just as pleased to return them. No words to express even a percentage of how much Regulus loves the way James would hum against his skin or run his fingertips against discolored lines that don't look like they are meant to be on his arms.

They don't need to speak or cry. They just sit in silence, living alongside their love and devotion as it dances in the air of their bathroom.

When they finally need to leave the comfort of the tub, they run towels over each other's bodies and kiss where the devil digs his claws. Content and peaceful. Loving and devoted.

Regulus will speak at last though, unable to continue without expressing how he feels, even if it's just a bit, even if the words can't comprehend the smallest fraction of how he feels, he whispers to James' heart, "Where your pain cuts you deep, I will soothe the ache and love the scar."

Having thoughts I really shouldn't. Like laying down together, arms draped over each other and holding one another. Maybe a lazy kiss here and there, eyes closed and whispering little things to each other in absolute comfort. Enjoying the warmth and just being so close it's impossible to cuddle any closer.
