i just realised that rping basically cannot survive without the validation from other people. it’s gotten to a point where i feel i can no longer create characters without having to keep in mind that it has to be something that someone else wants to write with. it doesnt necessarily matter how much you adore your character or how much work you put in because at the end of the day ur trying to get other people to write with you. 

#im not sayin that everyone thinks this ofc #im sure some people have a relatively healthy mindset when it comes to this lmao #but i just..... #i feel like any character i start getting excited about dies out so quickly #either because i have a complete lack of people wanting to interact or ive created a character that is completely based off of #what i think other people will like!! #and im not saying like 'omg my characters are amazing why is nobody paying attention to me wah wah' #its just the whole principle of it all like #i dont think a lot of people realise that roleplaying is about entertaining other people #as much as its supposed to be fun for u #u have to attract ur own 'audience' if that makes sense? #idk #thats why i havent rlly been on here recently lmao #i just get immediately burnt out every time i think about it
