I've kept a wide range of invertebrates for the past 8 years, and also taken a keen interest in vertebrates such as herps, also bred critically endangered species of tarantulas, which most of my collection consists of, along with some other rare species. As a person who knows how things are in this hobby, I can tell you you're vastly misinformed about zoos and how much they help certain groups of animals. You'd be wise to do some more research and come back.

imagine telling a zoologist that’s studied animals and biology in great detail for over three years to “do more research” 

Doesn’t matter what you personally have done, it doesn’t matter if you personally take great care of your pets. It doesn’t change the fact that majority of people cannot and should not have exotic pets and are incapable of providing for them.

You can keep replying but it doesn’t make you right or change my stance on the issue. And I’m not interested in wasting my time discussing something you’re very clearly bias in when I’ve studied this sort of stuff at a formal education level.
