Correct me if I'm wrong but was it even mentioned why Chloe hates Marinette? I thought bc she (Mari) stood up to her (Chloe) but she hated her even before that. Or it's just
Chloe rich girl =bad
Marinette main heroine = good
Nope. After FIVE SEASONS, we never got a single explanation as to what Chloe's issue with Marinette is. For a show written by someone who prides himself on how Chloe's arc was planned from the beginning, it's funny how he forgot to do the basic thing and give her a motivation for her other than "She's rich, and therefore, evil".
Once again, this is another point in the movie's favor, as it actually showed how the Chloe in this continuity started to hate Marinette. But then again, I guess wanting a basic explanation for why one of the show's more important characters chooses to antagonize Marinette is just something we want, and don't actually need.

thomas asstruc gives off classism vibes (and much more other bad vibes)
Not only cos of the whole every poor fam got great life/fam while rich kids don't in the show
But like how he will not take criticism from anyone and noone can write better cos they just wouldn't get doing work with "all these editorial constraints" and he's a professional (his words basically)
And honestly bad writing one thing, it another to enforce in your writing shitty things and act shitty to even the slightest criticism no matter how respectful and polite
So yeah I'd honestly suggest not watching, let ratings go down, i could really care less how it can get any worse (or better meaning they wasted like half the seasons)
The show had enough seasons many shows would kill for and crew are killing it but in the bad way

My Take of ML Bible
I just read the full thing so.... yeah. You should scroll past to avoid spoilers.
First of all, WHAT THE ACTUAL F IS THIS HOT MESS
HOW COULD AN ENTIRE SHOW BIBLE GET LEAKED ONLINE???
The document literally has all character dynamics, everything up until season 6.
So I got spoiled the entire season 5 when we just started it 🤦🤦🤦
The document is from last year so there SHOULD be some changes but...
Astruc has already said each season gets written 1-2 years before the episodes air on TV. So it's probably too late to change season 5 🤦
When we got episode titles, I thought season 5 would be just like Cardcaptor Sakura. Ladybug and Chat Noir would regain a miraculous every episode.
But after reading that Monarch has melted each miraculous into rings and he can "transfer" the powers to his akuma victims, I'm not so sure.
I mean how will they even undo this damage?
And the enemy after Monarch is Lila 🥱
Who SOMEHOW has at least 3 different families and identities, with ZERO clues before season 5.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F PART 2
Why would she even need so many families at the same time?
I would understand if she was an orphan and she got adopted by different families since her childhood...
....but even in that case, it makes NO SENSE that she calls all of them mom and is enrolled at 2 schools at the same time.
I hope we get a good backstory when that episode comes out, but I'm not too hopeful after seeing the entire season.
They are reversing the love square, only for Tikki and Plagg to get suddenly fed up with it and force a reveal mid-season.
Which again, is OOC and doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. What happened to the rule of we can't reveal, or even SAY the names of our holders?
Another thing seems to be Zoe's out of nowhere crush on Mari and she gets rewarded with BC Miraculous for the two parter?????
She only had like what? 4 episodes about her at most and she still had time to fall for Mari?
Don't get me wrong here, I love relationships when they are done right. But this one right here is just another upcoming mess.
Zoe's just a good version of Chloe with nothing else defining her. So I don't think her crush on Mari will be handled well 🤦
Poor Mari can't get a break either. Even when she enters a relationship, her past haunts her. LEAVE HER ALONE SHE DESERVES BETTER.
SHE. DESERVES. BETTER.
But Astruc seems to believe that teenage girls are naive, evil and miserable. That's what I understand from seeing how he treats his girl characters.
On the other hand, Adrien, who SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH, knows absolutely nothing.
One of the reasons I kept watching ML was seeing how Adrien would react to learning his dad is the POS villain and how he would move forward. So I feel robbed, frustrated and angry.
Luka goes to Brazil subplot is another WTF reaction I had. He can stay in Paris without revealing the heroes.
Trust me. They won't even need him to reveal anything since the kwamis will do it by themselves 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
...and how does he even know Suhan? Did I miss an episode?
Last but not least, save Nooroo 2K22. Poor Kwami keeps literally falling into wrong hands 😭😭😭

Not as big of a criticism compared to others but I feel like ml is too "americanized" if that makes any sense. Mentioning 10th grade, saying high school instead of collège, mentioning degrees instead of baccalauréat etc. like I keep forgetting the show is set in france
It's probably more of an English dub thing than something related to the show itself.

I still find it hilarious that show can't decide whether or not Chloe was a joke or an actual threat.
Either option would be an okay way to take the character, but the show is trying to have it both ways. In the end, nobody is happy.

it feels like That Guy doesn't even like the show anymore and is running on spite at this point because of how things keep going. like we all know those Chloé salt eps were pointless and yet.
I wouldn't go so far to say he doesn't like it at all, though spite could be a factor in writing certain episodes.

Just realized something dumb about how the show deciding miraculous holders can just bullshit their way into getting power-ups or negating the whole time out sequence. They could basically make miraculous like the fox overpowered/broken by just going "fuck you that's no longer a weakness"
Like
Alya just removing the whole Illusions get dispelled by physical contact thing
Max being able to open multiple portals simultaneously instead of two connected ones
Lila be able to create multiple Akuma at once without them originally sharing an item, Catalyst/Puppeteer/Gamer2.0 being used to modify/help her or whatever Gabriel & Tomoe did with the Alliance rings
ect
I can't even tell what even happened that caused Marinette and Adrien to "grow up". They were at Chloe's mercy, they decided they didn't want to detransform, and boom! No more timer.
It's hard to tell what's dumber: The fact that simply "growing up" is enough for you to unlock the full power of your Miraculous, or the fact that every Miraculous has a different transformation phrase specifically designed for evil uses that also slowly kills you for some reason.

So I just realized that ta claiming that the show consultative actual child psychologist is probably the children show equivalent of Ripley Scott consulting historians for Gladiator.
What I mean is that there was likely a child psychologist who worked with the staff however just like the historical consultant for Gladiator, Kathleen Coleman, was for the most part ignored by TA & the writers, possibly to the point they like Coleman with Gladiator wanted to be uncredited with the show.
Honestly, now I'm thinking of this sketch about how underutilized lawyers are in the Star Trek universe, because that's a great way to view this theory. The showrunners have a consultant on board, but probably rarely ask them for help.

You know, I just remembered another MLB retcon. Do you remember when Adrien said he was allergic to feathers in Mr. Pigeon (which was an episode from way back in season 1)? Sentimonsters are made from feathers called Amoks, so how exactly is Adrien supposed to be a sentimonster when he’s allergic to feathers?
To be fair, the Amok is in a ring, meaning Adrien probably can't notice it.

Of all things Astruc has said, him claiming that miraculous is way more popular than pokemon will be one of the craziest ones, like, what was going on his head? 😭😭
(The post this anon is referring to)
If he at least had some evidence to show that this was the case, I'd get it, but he doesn't have anything other than "My source is that I made it the fuck up!"

I just randomly remembered the running off the roof scene in Optigami where Ladybug's ass is huge for some reason. After seeing the gif again, I've noticed that the animators practically broke her spine to get her butt to stick out that far, and it may be a trick of the eye, but it almost looked like her butt and thighs had jiggle physics. I don't think anyone's confronted Astruc with this. Interested in hearing his defense for it.
Given how he responded to the comic debacle, there's a chance he could just assume anyone crititicing it are looking for things to nitpick, and that they need to understand the full context or something like that.

This is more of a rant, but something that still baffles me about the show is, The Collector being the ONLY episode besides the last few S5 episodes where the main heroes get ANY significant leads on who the main villain might be (ignoring Chat Blanc and Ephemeral, because those were more Gabriel’s luck strike than anything).
I understand why they lifted suspicion from Gabriel initially, but Master Fu should’ve 100% doubted the “he can’t akumatize himself” claim at some point later on (seriously, Gabriel only had to make an akuma, detransform, and renounce Nooro), but with how incompetent he was as a Guardian, I’m surprised he could even make the “Grimoire owner = Hawk Moth” guess. And the MULTIPLE TIMES he went into the Agreste mansion, no progress. The LEAST he should’ve done is ask Adrien about the whole ordeal with the Grimoire - Adrien stealing it from his own father should at the very least raise some questions.
(A bit tangential, but a headcanon I have is, the suspicion falling on his father back then is what made him want to know what Ladybug is up to at all times - it doesn’t excuse his romantic advances towards Ladybug or his S4 behavior, but I think it did contribute heavily to the whole Syren fallout, even if some of it was just Adrien being grumpy for no good reason. Of course, this wasn’t Ladybug’s fault, and Adrien didn’t have the full context for the accusation when the audience did… so that’s another thing I blame on Master Fu, he seemingly never clarified anything to Adrien about the suspicion of Gabriel being a genocidal maniac)
And after that… the one to make progress is Mr. Plot Device Felix. In SEASON 4!!! And the only thing they could come up with was Felix seeing the miraculous because Gabriel’s tie slipped - a gigantic win button handed to him on a silver plate (though admittedly, his plan of tearing Gabriel’s pants was pretty cool).
Just remember, the main drama of Season 5 was the romance between Marinette and Adrien, and trying to stop the psychopath from recreating the world.
Really shows that our heroes have their priorities straight.

if TA ever (hopefully) gets kicked off the show, do think the writers would reveal Chloe being a senti like the rest of the rich kids in order to explain away why she acted so out of character during the last two seasons?
Possibly, but I'm not sure if they'd even go with a redemption arc if he left.

If I had to sum up season 4’s biggest issues is that they put too much on their plate and waste too much time. RoTear, QuBan, DeFam, and HaSan are episodes all gimped by their limited time or poor setup due to a lack of time. SiMan, PsCom, PeTeam, KuNeko, and especially Ephemeral are a major waste of time by failing to justify their plots in the grand scheme of things.
It's not even a problem exclusive to Season 4. Seasons 3 and 5 struggled with time management too.

Sorry but I believe you were wrong to agree with the anon who said that Fei's transformation isn't disrespectful/racist. That anon claims transformation doesn't care about your race, yet every European character keeps their race, while Fei (+ Alya&Max) for some reason have to change? It isn't even just hair, on that comparing pictures it's seen that her face and eye shape, eye colour, all becomes more European in super form. And she doesn't need to hide her race for secrecy, she lives in China.
(The post this user is referring to)
I'm sorry about this. Like I said, I'm not Asian, so I don't have this kind of perspective on things.
