Rain Code x Fire Emblem
in which our amnesiac protagonist wakes up and is thrust into an all out war
i also commissioned @loremaster to draw this amazing yuma for the au!
Spoilers under the cut:
Tumblr media
i'd like to imagine the final boss is the First Dragon's (Number One for short) Clone
additional lore:
makoto and the hommunculi were made by a dark cult called Amaterasu. they wanted to create an undead army through necromancy to take over the world or whatever. this is kind of the primary conflict of the game
shinigami is a death dragon. number one makes a pact with her because he aims to kill the immortal dragon clone of himself, and only something that specializes in death can do that
the book of death is a legendary dark tome that's relatively weak at first but its powers awaken late game
zombified hommunculi would be kind of the "mindless mob" enemy you see in the training levels. they'd be generic until late game where you get rematches with old bosses (as well as specific recruited characters should you have let them die)
i didnt draw them but the aetheria trio are like. definitely a pegasus knight trio that can do triangle attack
also yomi is a holy knight because of the irony (and his self righteousness). he's the main recurring "i must retreat!" antagonist for a while lol
yakou is your jaegen of the game that's powerful at first but falls off later. and then he dies for plot 😔 also his horse is named Ama, cause she's his pal <3
yes i designed number one's dragon from the flight rising coatl. it just kinda screams yuma to me
tbh i wrote like the entire plot on discord a while back but i aint writing allat again sorry. just know this au is rotating in my brain like crazy. i love you fire emblem

If there's any fictional character you would want in your IFs who would you choose and why?
in my ifs as in the ones that i'm the creator of? like i'm just plucking pre-existing fictional characters and throwing them into my worlds?
anon i want to give you a serious and thoughtful answer but all i can think of is stealing all my favourite ROs because there are so many characters that make me go This creator's brain is so big. I wish I thought of that
other than that though i think i want link from zelda. i'm thinking specifically skyward sword link although it pains me to turn down rock eating link 💔 but i want him and his loftwing and i want them to be the immortal heroes of [redacted] for reasons i cannot yet disclose because it would... make no sense without context
also for my fire emblem likers if ur out there i will also take say'ri yen'fay and the time travellers from fe awakening. they deserve peace and love and i will stick them in a place where they can have that.
but honestly i would not change much about my ifs even if i could simply... take other people's characters HAHA my stories are already incredibly self-indulgent, and it means a lot to me that even despite this there are still people out there who are interested in them [: i love u guys. if you're reading this i love you 😢

EXCLUSIVES & MAINS & CONNECTIONS~
This nifty lil post will list rp partners and FCs of their muses that, since I am so deeply enamoured with their muses and can't stop associating the faces they chose for said muses, I can't find it in me to have given (or all) blorbos of mine interact with anybody else. I know faces aren't everything and writing always matters the most, but it's kind of like knowing the car a person drives isn't relevant to your friendship to them and still instantly thinking of them when you see one flash by, to the point where you'll go a lil silly in the head when someone else driving the same car shows up. You know?
That makes no sense but bear with me LKDFGLH
THIS LIST ALSO APPLIES TO @/ASHBTTEN, my single-muse
BLOG-WIDE
Lee Dong-wook | @jeoseungsaja From main verse to verse 5, Alex's MASSIVE BRAIN has made me wholly incapable of throwing any of my blorbos at any Lee Dong-wook that aren't her magnificent Jeoseungsaja, Wang Yeo, Lee Hyuk. He is simply That Binch. Kaeden's older brother, Kim Shin's spouse and/or housemate, Sarang's victim, Rang's actual half-brother, you name it.
Débora Nascimento | @astremourante The mythvoiced blorbos have spoken, every muse who meets Amelia falls in love with her, romantically or platonically as may be, or is otherwise so obsessed with her I am starting to fear for their mental health. Ami's Amelia Stella Sinclair is the fruit of some of the sexiest, most incredible character building I've ever seen and I can't disassociate her face from her. Dude, I even forget Miss Nascimento does not have freckles.
MUSE-SPECIFIC
Lee Joon-gi | @theimpalpable for Ji Hyun, as Yeong Boram. He's a rain prince, an azure dragon, who's story with Hyun starts in captivity in ancient times and re-blossoms now in the present, when they turn from memory to constant, present and future. Boram is Hyun's soulmate and Hyun is single-ship with him.
Harry Lloyd | @/theimpalpable for Corey Atwell, as Domenic Lachlan. A friend, a mentor of sorts, maybe? Left to his own devices with no one to lean on, meeting Domenic, a kind, warm, enthusiastic intellectual willing to experience the joys of discovery and knowledge with him is kind of like... discovering how vast the world is without being afraid of it.
Tom Holland | @/theimpalpable for Kaeden, as Wilder B. Summers. Wilder is perhaps everything to Kaeden, most definitely is. He's his best friend, his sweet cheese, his good-time boy, Kaeden would set the world on fire for him, and hopes to be worthy of his friendship one day.
Park Bo-gum | @/theimpalpable for Han, as So Yong. The feeling of a soft breeze on a hot day, the first drop of rain after months of dry soil, the first sip of water after hours without, the softness of your pillow after a hard day. These are just some of the things Han equals Yong to. And it's very confusing.
Song Joong-ki | @/theimpalpable for Huáng ZhìJiàn, as So Kiheon. Some love prevails for centuries before either party even gets to call it love. A-Jiàn has never forgotten Kiheon and each day he may get closer to meeting them again, is a day he feels a little more alive than the previous.
Shin Ha-kyun | @/theimpalpable for Sköll, Sarang & Ajay (in particular), as (Kim) Nae-Gil. For Sarang and Ajay, Nae-Gil is but a name on a list. A Knight, one of those deserted, hell, Ajay might not even know who he is, Sarang might only be familiar with what he's capable of. A Knight of the Order he still was, and that connection will always remain. To Sköll, though, he's a little more than that. He makes him feel alive in the same way two flames uniting to create a wildfire create life in their own way.
You WILL most definitely find other Alex muses on this list one day, I am obsessed with her stuff, I'll nab it all.
Lee Sun-mi | @uroborosymphony for Sarang, as Calixtus 'Calista' Orion, because Lynnie said I was allowed~ immortal terrorist girlfriends, the breath of snarled and maniacally cackled air that fanned the flame in Sarang's soul back to life and reminded her that living is just, living is fair, and taking what is hers even more so, perhaps even at her side, by the side of the one woman to occupy the centre of her mind.
Shin Sung-rok/SF9's Hwiyoung | @clemencetaught Blog-wide. Here's the thing. Patrick Grace, Shin Myungdae, I am a little obsessed with what Ferre is doing with this person. Every verse, every minute interaction I have with him, because I haven't even gotten to interact with him all that much (or as much as I'd like to, anyway, hehehehe~) follows me to the end of my days. With Eunjae, with Sarang, the plotting we're doing with Maria, smaller threads like the one with Seok-ju, he's incredible. All of Ferre's work around this person makes me gasp. I had to visit their notion because I did not for the life of me remember the FC's name, in typical Len fashion, I completely forgot that wasn't just... you know, Patrick. So yeah. If I see another Shin Sung-rok, in particular, anywhere else, I will think it's Patrick.
Hoang Quyen | @ofgentleresolve for Samuel, as Mana Minh Huynh, on one hand because even while I write Samuel very rarely because he's a little more difficult to get muse for, Mana is already impacting him in ways I could have never hoped for to the point where I'm discovering things about him I had no idea were in him, on the other hand because I just? I can't... it's? I don't shout about Mana a lot because I feel almost undeserving, and inappropriate in treating her the way I would... stanning anime characters. She's... so much more, she makes me want to treat her in all the seriousness of ancient Greek philosophers. She's incredible. She's "The Only Hoang Quyen" to put it in a weird way (I'm collecting Ferre characters the way I collect Alex characters, BEST BELIEVE).
CONNECTIONS/MAINS
These are characters who I wouldn't claim mutual exclusivity with because I'm a too chicken and forgetful to ask, but they've become very vital connections to my muses and as such, while I'd never demand anything in turn, there is no pressure or obligation here to do the same with connections here as I do because I am Insane about y'all's characters, your muses are very dear to me and as such these here listed characters will at the very least most definitely be the first names associated with the listed faces.
Jing Boran | @wantedformanysins for Chul-soo, as Nathan Chen, because don't you just love a messy 'we used to be lovers but not really then we split and now you invited me as your boyfriend to spend Christmas with you because you didn't tell your mother we split?' plot? There's a lot more to that, obviously, because Dex is one of the greatest minds you'll ever meet, her plotting capabilities are through the ROOF. The violence she makes me feel, soft aggression about how amazing it is. It's... I can't even put it into words it's just... oof.
Liam Samuels | @zodiachild for Nathaniel & Diana, as Aziz Khan. Again, Dex just... plots MASSIVE things okay. Love stories spanning for centuries, stockfull of the most violently incredible details and facets, Aziz is such an incredible fucking character, the lore iS INSANE, and Nathaniel & Diana are both so stupid about him, so absolutely gone, so insane about him, can't really expect me to not add him here~
Nana Komatsu | @wellfell BLOGWIDE, as Mori Akina, let me count all the ways I would commit heinous crimes for Akina, I have been so obsessed with this woman even beyond having Karube interact with her in so many painful, sexy, incredible ways, amplified by the way Nassy writes to kill, I'm not even sure if I got the FC's name right because it's just Akina™. I'm literally doing research on Ringu to understand her better, do you understand, I am considering buying it, do you understand.
AND!! LIST WILL BE UPDATED!! When I write things down in one sitting I will end up forgetting, so I'll come back~ Also in case FCs change~ There are some I didn't add either because they're Patrick/ashbtten related or because I'm shy or because they're in 1x1 threads or or or but hey if you ever feel like we've interacted enough that it would be a CRIME to not find on this list, we can always chit chat about it >:3

RAEL MY FRIEND! I HAD FORGOTTEN U TOLD US THE DREAM FIC WAS GOING TO BE 6 PARTS *head in hands* it's over. but it's not. but it is also it reminded me of the end of Goblin (2016) with the romantic interest of the undying entity passing away but maybe encountering each other on their next (last?) reincarnation and i just, there is so much happening there, the way R seems different, detached, when their desires are talking, when it's like Desire themselves is pushing them to talk, and the way they all seem to pick it up but no one really....thinks twice about it until it's too late. i adored the hint to Rin and Matthew being pals of some sort, as well as Dream just speedrunning marriage lmao and the entire palace staff being like 👁️👁️ sir no, wait- but simultaneously being on board, they just, need Morpheus to chill. ngl, i thought the blade u made The Mother pull out was an angel blade LMAO supernatural will never leave alone but reading it was something Desire gave her? oof, and Reader leaving Rin out of their grasp and rulling, so he can live on his own, in peace and alone, as a dying action acompanied with a wish. Dream letting them have their goodbye because he can still do so when Death came for R....crying. and Dream just, mourning for decades :')))) and Rin staying in the dreaming, hoping, waiting, and Lucienne just- Lucienne, my beloved librarian, u are a fucking saint fr fr. and yeah, the punishment seems....small, not as serious, and yeah, i bet it was Destiny and Death the ones who made it so...or not, but Dream doesn't realize how dire the punishment might/will be. I bow to your power of writing all of this so quickly and feeding us like the starving rats [endearment] i know we are sometimes with your stories (also look, long ask bc i wrote it on desk :D)
ITS OVER BUT ITS ALSO NOT- The epilogue is still gonna be there but it'll be short and I'll leave it up to the readers to interpret- BABE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND- YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT BC THE GOBLIN (2016) ENDING WAS WHAT I WAS GOING FOR IM ECSTATIC THAT YOU NOTICED!!!!!
Even R knows that something's off about themselves when talking about their desires- but they assumed that it was normal- I think that's the tragedy of it, y'know? Everyone knows something's off but everyone's a step too late- If they had all figured out what was off about R and about Desire's influence, all of this could have been prevented- Dream could have gone to Death to grant R immortality earlier or they could all have kept R away from the facility- or the Corinthian could have gone to set the place on fire by himself-
You can take the raven buddies from my cold, dead hands- they may not be best of friends, but they aren't enemies for sure- The palace staff knows there's no stopping their lord once he wants something so the best thing they could do is to make sure R is prepared-
OH YEAH AN ANGEL BLADE- THAT COULD HAVE WORKED- Supernatural kinda feels like that show which I don't have much memory of wtf happened but little bits of lore and characters circle around my brain lmao- Desire wanted to fuck with Dream but accidentally made their brother angry af-
Rin and R :(((( my fav platonic duo :(((( R knowing that to Rin, they are his home- and that if they weren't alive, he would literally crumble back into nothing- I like to think that they thought about their own death and what would happen afterwards (bc they are still mortal, after all) and they did some research of their own to figure out how to keep their friend alive when they died-
I will say tho I did tear up a bit whilst writing that goodbye scene- It's not happy for sure, but it's still not too sad, I think- nothing was left unsaid, y'know? A bittersweet end to things ig-
I DID MENTION HOW LUCIENNE AND THE CORINTHIAN VER 2.0. WOULD BECOME SIMILAR- AND HERE IT IS- Lucienne, love of my life- She's an absolute saint, and I like to think that as the centuries pass and as the Corinthian sinks more comfortably into his role as R's main confidant the two of them would speak more frequently-
Reincarnation isn't too frequent so Desire's expecting to only fulfil their punishment like two or three times, but R's being reincarnated nearly every century and they are pulling their fucking hair out- Also bc for some reason, in every iteration of R they get into so many dangerous situations that Desire has to protect them from- And maybe they develop... not a fondness but more of a tolerance? to R-
Thank you so much for feeding me (also a starving rat lmao) your thoughts and comments- I love talking about these characters so much- so every interaction is an indulgence for me <3 <3 (OH YEAH!!! I WAS LOOKING AT YOUR ASK AND WAS THINKING 'this is surprisingly long for them')

What are your thoughts about age-gap romances? I myself I am mostly okay with them (it's all about the execution and how the relationship is potrayed, what it is like etc.) and some of my favorite couples and ships have age-gap, for example Tom and Polly from Fire and Hemlock, Firuka and Hagas from Genbu Kaiden. But due to fandom spaces... I have started to feel quilty and bad for liking some age-gap couples and romances and I wonder if I should stop liking them and if I should age-up my own character from 20 to 28 since the love interest is 32-33 in a fantasy romance I am writing.
Oh my, you know , I saw your ask right after complaining to a friend about fandoms. The timing made me yell. So expect a long answer with my honest thoughts under the cut.
I may have an opinion unpopular in fandom spaces and nowadays overall, but I think that your taste in fiction doesn't necessary reflect your preferences and opinions irl. More than that, I don't think that fiction equals reality and I consider viewing reality through fandom/fiction lenses (and otherwise, evaluating fiction from the point of view of our reality, this time and age) a dangerous simplification. Fiction doesn't have to work by our reality's laws and morals. Reality is much more complicated than any fiction ever written. This is that I think.
As for stories with age gap romances - I don't see it as something necessarily problematic and accusable. I may like them, I may dislike them, or stay neutral - as you said, it depends on how it's written. But I'm gonna say smth that kinda makes me worst person for fandoms: in all honesty, shoujos about teenage girls falling for their teachers, fantasy about 20 y.o. in relationships with immortal creatures, even stories about straight out creepy relationships with age gap don't hurt me and don't make me righteously mad and screaming it gives young people the wrong idea. What doesn't, nowadays? Learning to use your brains and analyze information is still my preferable option. I also don't understand how writing about some not-safe-for-all-audiences themes equals romantization of said themes. I really don't see such stories as a problem or harmful influence, just like any other thing claimed problematic by fandoms tbh. In my experience, most of them are not even close to "excusing age gaps between young ppl and old perverts". This is something totally different.
I think you should write your story as you want, without trying to please everyone and make it safe for everyone, without a mere possibility to trigger smth unpleasant for someone - it's impossible to do that after all. If for some reason your characters must be 20 and 32 years old, so be it. In fantasy I sometimes see examples of bigger age gaps, like "twenty y.o. and a 3000 y.o. magician" which fandom sometimes condemns as problematic bc of said "age gap", and I see that this one potential 3000 y.o. magician is written like a teenage girl and doesn't feel old or not human in the slightest, and it's not about problematicness or age gap at all, even when your mage is not 3000 y.o. but 30-something. It's about your exploring yourself, people and the world through your writing. Maybe, it's about learning to love the world a bit more (true in my case, this is why i'm making my own story I guess), maybe it's about putting yourself in other person's shoes, trying to understand how someone different from you (in age, or status) feels and thinks. Maybe it's about going against fandom morals and hollow accusations you are unhappy with, some kind of protest, I don't know. It may be sublimation, a stupid wish that never came true, a way to get through some traumatic experience, a way to understand your own feelings about this subject and form your opinion, or desire to take this theme and make a good story you can enjoy, finally! None of these makes you a criminal, btw. You may even never understand why exactly you take something for your story or the purpose of writing it at all - and that's okay. You have a personal relationship with your story and not a single person has the right to interfere.
In short, I'm standing firmly on this ground: stories are not our reality, but a way to get to know it and maybe love it. Your preferences in fiction don't necessarily mean it expands to real life. Feeling something good from a story that someone says you are supposed to hate doesn't make you trash. Also, I beg you: don't use fandom categories to deal with reality and don't apply their standards and logic to your opinion about yourself. Fandoms surely make our life funnier sometimes, but they are limited spaces with their own rules and working mechanisms, and they simplify things a lot. I can understand the desire to always have the right and simple answer to everything, and a clear opinion about everything, but life has the habit of walking up to you and smashing your face into situations that can't be defined by simple notions, or even don't let you decide what to accuse and what to excuse (sometimes it's not our place to decide). I don't think you must feel guilty for liking smth in fiction. I stopped caring about it some time ago, when I got that me liking murder ballads by the Decemberists didn't make me a killer, and that I actually don't see the period novels in which women suffer as romantization of women's suffering. And I'm fine with my unpopular perception of fiction and reality.
I wish all the best on your writing.

✨Rinnie is a sassy sorceress who doesn't ever want to admit she had feelings ever. But she is also bamf and capable of healing magic, though she'd much rather light stuff on fire.
📙Nathaniel the poor tired grad student who is also a Marine on a mission. He *doesn't* get paid enough for this and just wants that nice peaceful life. It would be such a shame if a war were to happen...
🔪Riela, my knife-wielding barmaid who knows way more about religion than she lets on. She has about 50 million secrets from her past so good luck figuring them all out. But she's also a hopeless romantic who dreams of getting swept off her feet.
🍺Killian, Captain of the Queen's Guard. On a mission to save said dying Queen. Has a YOLO attitude and pulls no punches. He also never seems to sleep for very long.
📘Taryn, Rinnie's bodyguard with benefits. Never actually intended to get feelings. Ended up in way over her head in a few things. Wicked smart and perceptive.
🧪Mica, resident kooky alchemist. Took a cognizance potion that one time and now her brain has filing cabinets inside for all sorts of information. Very good at chemical and alchemical reactions. Escaped from pirates, does *not* want to go home and get married.
🍎 Paul, the soft-spoken Marine who doesn't feel it is appropriate to take on too much responsibility, but will step up should the occasion come up. He grew up on a farm and is an apple cider snob.
🍻 Mama Cass, the wise sage. Older than she looks. Older than seems possible. She knows what kind of drink you want without asking. Unbelievably kind. Seen it all before. Her face holds a smile and doesn't seem to know how to do anything else.
⭐Ilani my beloved oracle. She has visions of the future and knows what will come true. Yet she does not let this hold her back. She is loving and unbelievably patient. She has such a rigid set of morals that has never let her down.
👊 Roderick, the man who punched an admiral and still got a commission. He plays a mean game of Royal Will. Such a strategist. Plays darts when he's thinking.
🧝‍♂️ Kanjo, the character who changed entire arcs with his inclusion. The dirty mage who can brawl with the best then clean up and be a gentleman - sometimes. Perpetually a staff NCO. A realist. Drives fast motorcycles.
🧝‍♀️Kiyo my darling bartender. Who can mix a drink whole only half paying attention. Who can make sushi in her sleep. Who knows that the ocean will take your cares away. Who was creating whirlpools and waterspouts by age twelve. Dirty mage tricks.
🌠Thea. Woman on a mission. Believes she's doing the right thing. Immensely powerful. Older than she looks and she looks immortal. But she has dark secrets no one can know. And she begs forgiveness from the one who does.
🟡Cael. Protector. Warrior. Quiet. He's an incredibly smart tactician. You will never beat him at chess. He's seen it all and more. Will follow those he loves to the death.
🌟Ciara, my darling child. I say, knowing she's in her 30s. Brute force magic. Very powerful. Can weaponize her magic to deadly degrees. No shame. Looks like she can kill you and will actually kill you. Fiercely protective. Loves deeply. Dreams of settling down one day.
🌬️Zeh'ave, the air elemental with amnesia. Does not remember who she was before. Had to learn how to function again and still does not have full control of her powers. Lightning fast with magic, has a strong sense of self preservation.
💙Lily, the kick ass demonic astral. Can shapeshift but prefers her resting form in it's blue, tailed, horned, and hooved glory. Did a huge service to the state when she was younger. Was raised on the streets but knows how to pretend to be proper.
😈Ashora, another kick ass demonic astral. Lives as a mercenary. Styles her hair around her horns. Super strong, super fast. Loves the adventure.
🔫Cami, the prisoner. Currently in a high security prison for her supposed safety because no one knows what to do about the fact that she's possessed by a dragon.
⚕️Aravae, the doctor who has learned to play ruthless political games in order to survive. She knows the ins and outs of political, legal, and medical spheres. Looks like a cinnamon roll, probably won't kill you. Hates direct confrontation. Will end the fight.
👧🏾Janna, sweet Janna. Giggly and boisterous. Just wants to set herself apart from her large family. Always kind, very perceptive.
👦🏽 Adrian, the quiet cook. Young and wide eyed. Dreams of a better future. Bakes really good bread. Saving up money for someone special.
🧒🏼Sean, the even quieter waiter. Works the graveyard shift. His day starts around noon and he goes straight from closing up the tavern to the fish market to buy fish for the next day. Lives at the tavern though, so it makes it easier.

D&D Character Concept: Lightning Tiefling
This idea for a character started from the Tiefling feat Infernal Constitution, where tieflings can get resistance to cold and poison damage on top of the fire resistance they already have. And I was looking at that, and idly looking at some classes that would give more elemental resistances, and I wound up looking at the storm sorcerer. And I don’t know why, but I was thinking about tieflings and lightning, and I wound up thinking horns. And horn jewellery. Nice shiny metal bits that are up on the tallest part of your body.
So I was thinking … a tiefling who got struck by lightning. And there is a bit of my brain, because catholic education, that marries that with ‘road to damascus moment’, and also you probably shouldn’t get magic just from getting hit by lightning, so lets make it divine lightning. Lets have an actual god hurl a thunderbolt at this tiefling.
And this is not just so I have an excuse to then throw some tempest cleric on top, honest. Although I do want tempest cleric, because Destructive Wrath.
But, going back to the lightning. Imagining a tanned young tiefling girl who was always in love with storms, a wild, giddy kid who’d climb the tallest trees or towers or buildings in her vicinity to be closer to them, to feel the rush of freedom and air and danger and thrill from a good thunderstorm. A kid who maybe didn’t quite comprehend the actual danger of this, not in any real way, not when laid against the excitement and the immortality of youth, and maybe a thunder god saw this and wanted to maybe demonstrate that storms are not safe. That you can have all the excitement and freedom and power of elemental storm, but you have to know the price for it. So one of those days, maybe when she’s a teenager, maybe when she’s experimenting with horn decorations, maybe when she’s up the tallest tree she can find with her glorious copper-dressed horns pointed straight skyward …
Iskuur the Storm Lord gives her an object lesson on the very real danger of storms.
(Or a storm god of your choice, I’m just going with my homebrew dude)
And then she wakes up. On the ground, battered and bloodied, one arm broken. One of her horns is splintered to a charred stump. Her once-red eyes are now sparking gold, and her once-dark hair is now pure white. And, all across her body, down the side of her face from the broken horn, down her neck and across her chest, hip, and legs, are feathered, fern-shaped lightning scars. (Lichtenberg scars, despite being terrifying and requiring almost dying to get, are kind of awesome looking?)
And this tiefling, being that kind of kid, goes cool, and names herself Fern after them. And tries to throw herself into more storms. And Iskuur, rather impressed in a chaotic storm god sort of way, grants her his blessing and a seed of elemental magic.
So. Fern the Lighting Tiefling. I’m thinking start storm sorcerer until fourth level, to get the feat that started this mess and also metamagic, then two tempest cleric levels for Destructive Wrath (and medium armour, heavy if mithral ever becomes available), and then go storm sorcerer the rest of the way. The character sheet below is for eighth level, so she can get up to Heart of the Storm and get thunder/lightning resistance and have five elemental resistances. You know. Just to have.
I rolled stats for her, getting 16,16,15,14,9,6. I put the 6 in strength, and was thinking mildly that, she’s tough as all hell, but maybe her magic actually drains her physical strength? Because Iskuur and being willing to pay the costs of power and freedom.Might as well make it thematic.
And I chose Distant Spell and Transmuted Spell for her metamagics. So that, once per short rest, she can drop a fourth level transmuted fire thunderball for max damage, and misty step 60ft and vortex warp/thunderstep 180ft. She’s a rather mobile boom boom sort of girl.

Another question that comes to mind - how did you come to title the book and series? Do you have thoughts on how it has evolved?
When I first sat down to seriously consider this series and my characters and world, the first idea I had at the core of it was "these are people who have gone through things people should not, and there are characters very different to each other that by the end of the series, probably have little in common, except for one thing: they are made from clay, as all living things are." I took inspiration from Greek myth and how humans were built from clay and given fire. Hence, I started off wanting to name my series Bones of Clay. Didn't really like it so much, neither did my friends when I posed it to them, and so I settled for a while on Hearts of Clay, which seemed more fitting to the themes and the romance sub-plot that's always running underneath it all. Because the whole mix of this series' aesthetic, I guess, is a bit of a strange one. It's the 1920s of another universe, where dragons are real and almost every magical thing you can think of, but there's also a fantasy mafia of werewolves, but also a royalty plot, but also there's a cult, but also also there's romance and saving the world from great evil and prophecies. This is kind of why it has to be a series with shifting focus. And because the books follow Zena Moralis' journey through all that, I named each book, in order: The Return, The Rise, The Tragedy, and The Fall. With each book's purpose quite clearly, explicitly set out for both her and some other characters, including Geronimo.
Nearly a month ago, I decided I had to rewrite the draft I had because nothing was going the direction I wanted and since the months I had left it abandoned my style had changed and so had a lot of my ideas and direction. By then, I had quit things with my writing partner, and it helped spur on this idea that I wanted to make my series anew. It needed a new name. I actually recruited my sisters to help me when I was outlining in my notebook. I sat down on a bean bag and said I needed them to give feedback on some book title ideas I'd jotted down. From there, we narrowed the list and the themes and direction -- they insisted on knowing what the series is about, basically, and all the key events of each book -- and we came up with a new titles: Bones Of A God, Skin Of A Jewel Snake, Blood Of A Moon, and Heart Of A Clay Hourglass. From there we went: these are all ingredients to something, but what? And in the end, it was unanimous that this was what made a Moralis. Specifically, Zena Moralis. It's the weirdest, kind of hair-brained, out-there things considering I have not written out this entire series yet, but it made me decide that this would have to be the Moralis series. Because, Moralis: bones of a god, skin of a jewel snake, blood of a moon, and heart of a clay hourglass. Geronimo is indeed the other main character, but this is still Zena's story.
A lot of the original ideas have carried over, as you can see. If we played word association with how I think of the series, it'd look something like: hourglass, immortality, time, love, betrayal, politics, blood, forests, myths, gods, siblings, patricide, loyalty, swords, sun, compass, stars, void, war, grief, death. The very earliest draft I ever wrote of this was when I was about 13, and even back then there was political drama and looming war, but also love and, well, dragons and strange fantasy plants and pink bees that drink fruit juice that I called "berry blies". I have to say, 13-year-old me was on another level. And until now, I was planning to write this series as Young Adult and then let marketing put it into YA Fantasy or Sci-Fi or Supernatural or wherever it wanted the books to go. But with all the stuff I want to do, the topics and themes I want to tackle, it just makes more sense for it to be an adult series. I feel we have a lot of (possibly questionable at times) YA fiction books, and some trashy adult ones that are either too stuffy or full of toxic contemporary romance or just fairy porn. I know some that aren't (Leigh Bardugo's Ninth House and Hell Bent comes to mind) but I wanted to add to the area in my own way. Folks always say to write what you'd want to read, and I'd want to read adult fantasy, because I've grown past the teenager stage and, honestly, have been finding it harder to relate to some of those YA books even now when I've barely hit 20. Roundabout way of doing it, but this genre sort of change also influenced the titles.
Admittedly, the titles of the books feel like they border on too fantastical at times, but they fit better than the old ones did. It seemed too boring to have such plain titles.
All in all, my thoughts on how this has evolved is... it's kind of incredible. And I'm a little scared that the longer I leave this world and these characters (it's already been about 7 years), the more it will change still, and then I will never be done with it. I'm kind of at a point where I want these books done and out to the world so that I can have new ideas for new worlds and stop expanding this one, otherwise it feels like too big a beast for me to write, period. The way the titles have evolved reflect too how much more this series is coming into itself though. I build this story, of course, but at the same time the naming process and the writing feels kind of like an excavation where the more I write and alter things just a bit, the closer we get to the true image I see in my mind.
Anyway, sorry for a bonkers long response, whoops. Hope it answered your question! <3 (As you can see, I love rambling about my work)

🗒 — what is/are your favorite genre(s)/theme(s) to write? //@griefbringers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the things I genuinely compensate for as a writer is that I rely very heavily on tropes. Not played straight, mind you, but I have recurring character concepts/themes/threads that I revisit over and over again, whether pigeonholing them, subverting them, or amplifying them. I have to keep diversifying those that I rely on so I don't become a one trick pony, while still satisfying the itch in my brain that has me coming back to these themes.
That said...
Let's start with genres. I'll list my top three.
I keep returning to a lot of urban fantasy/fantastical themes in my work, something probably apparent in the fandoms I venture into on this blog. Even my fandomless muses are pretty stacked towards historical-to-modern fantasy, from Roman immortals to early 20th century werewolves.
I'm also into a good spy/modern conflict setting. I have a real love for spy fiction, and love the actual methodical, cunning tradecraft, not the big guns blazing spectacle of film. It gives me and my partners a lot of opportunity to explore problem solving IC and build layered narratives, I feel. It probably helps I wrote a spy character for over five years in the past, across a variety of espionage-based fandoms.
No matter what genre I write in, I'm a big fan of horror elements. If there's fridge horror to be found in a setting, I will suss it out and bring it to supertext. It might be a bit edgy of me, but a good horror genre or flavoring will get me obsessed like nothing else -- especially if there's untapped potential for me to delve in fleshing it out.
A few favorite themes are as follows. Top Ten.
Themes of morality. There are acts that are unequivocally good. There are acts that are unequivocally evil. And any character I write lives between the two poles, some dancing closer to one end than the other, but always able to change -- for better or for worse. With the right character development, a victim can become a villain, and a monster can claw his way into Heaven. I like exploring what makes characters do what they do, what built their world view, and how they express it. We're built by our experiences and our perceptions. Our behavior is as much innate as it is learned. What makes someone balk at their base instincts? What makes someone forego being the better person? I love finding that out, and how to find the good in a devil and the evil in a saint.
Build Your Own Family. And I don't mean in the way 'found family' has been co-opted to foster traditional nuclear family dynamics among those who do not share blood or upbringing. I mean the traditional queer lens of 'family is what you make it.' Friends, companions, those who survived trial by fire, those who are just trying to survive a shit situation, anything goes for me. I love seeing bonds develop naturally and fiercely independently of traditional definition and without being devalued by the idea all important bonds must be romantic or those of blood.
By that card, I'm also a fool for an adoption/blood isn't the end all be all of family narrative. Most of my mother's family is pieced together from odd kids out who got taken into families that were made whole for their inclusion, and so it's a subject that is very dear to me. A lot of my muses are either adopted, have or are step-parents, or have sibling bonds that are built on love and responsibility rather than shared bloodline.
Othering, outsiders, the child who is not embraced by the village. Many of my muses fit this mold, but no two react the same to their isolation and rejection. Some are made villainous by it, some rise above it, some lashed out and are now trying to make amends, and try to convince themselves they are happier in what they know. This is probably a theme where I project heavily and turn it over and over trying to g lean some insight about myself.
I have a tendency towards examining ships that... IDK? The best way I can sum it up is 'we met in a difficult place as mutual outsiders and fell in love despite our shared struggle, but the journey ended, and I followed you home, and now I'm the stranger in a strange land while you are the newly returned and revered prodigal child, and now I'm not sure about any of this without calamity and commonality overhead.' I don't consciously go in saying 'that's how this is going to go,' but it's recurred with enough frequency in my writing that I must be fond of it for some reason.
Horror, especially the gothic or psychological. I'm a big enby. I can admit it. I was raised on 19th century literature and more cerebral horror movies, and that's not just a statement to build credibility. I said before if such a thread does not exist outright in a narrative, I will find the first place I can shove it in. Several OCs are really thinly veiled attempts to explore fridge or glossed over horrific implications in a canon -- and what characters do when confronted with these truths.
Parental relationships. How parents shape their children, how no one ever really leaves their childhood home behind no matter how far they are from it. Did muses have good parents? Did they have bad parents? Is their parents touch mere fingerprints on pristine glass, or the hole left where a bomb detonated? What sort of parents do my muses who are so inclined become? Were they loved? Did it save them? Did it matter in the end? Did it make it worse if they were? Again, not something I mean to insert into my ouevre, but it keeps happening.
Doomed love. There was love. There is also grief. Is it easier if they die, or is the real burden knowing they are out there without you? Or are you still there, two splintering pieces of wood holding up the shell of what was once a beautiful home? Was it inevitable, or was it circumstantial? Did they think they could change? Were they too soft, or too rough? Is there closure, or is it the wound that will not heal? Did you love them more in the moment, or in their absence? What's the aftershock of it on those around you?
Duty and tradition as a chain used to beat everyone. I play several rulers or nobles who would rather be anywhere else, but who due to pride, loyalty, or being so broken by the system, are unable to move on. Characters of any class who would be a thousand times happier as anything other than what their society tells them to be. Those hurt by the system and those who enforce it into pure villainy. Those who fight the system and those who manipulate it to their own aims. It really revs my engines.
Prophecy and predestination as bullshit. Your choices are your own, so long as you have the autonomy to make them. Like duty and tradition, prophecy is a flawed system that destroys everyone involved. Your choices are your own. The future does not absolve your present. It's an excuse to do worse in pursuit of a tomorrow you might not even see.

🦋🎈📡 (and a kiss 😘)
Beijos para você! (I'm being so normal about not falling down a rabbit hole about tu vs você right now djksfjdasfjds)
🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?
Are people gonna like it?? (Do people like me??)
Then once I wrangle my social anxiety brain worms back to their rehabilitation corner, I'm wondering about whether the things I was trying to communicate with the fic seem to be coming across to the people reading. Do my understandings of these characters ring true for other people? Did the things I thought were poignant or funny or hot actually feel that way to people who aren't me?
🎈describe your style as a writer; is it fixed? does it change?
I've been told more than once that I have a very distinctive writing style for smut. At first I just blushed my face off whenever I heard that, because oh my GOD I am publishing pornographic writing on the internet!!?!?!? and people are READING it!!?!???!!!?!??? Now that I've had some time to get used to it, I take it as a badge of honor, even when anxiety pokes through that maybe not everybody means it strictly as a compliment. You know what it's a style and it's fun and we're embracing it!
More broadly, my style has definitely changed since BoN first ate my brain. There are some elements of my older fics that absolutely make me cringe now, like the rapid-fire pov shifts (sometimes in the same sentence!) and the explosion of French pet names. No shade on those old fics, I'm glad I wrote them, and I'm glad the people who still enjoy them are enjoying them! It's just that looking back on my older stuff confronts me with how much less practice with writing fiction I had two years ago than I do now.
One element of my fic style that hasn't changed and I doubt ever will is my tendency towards complex, multi-phrase sentences. My professional life has required too much writing about legislative details; at this point it can't be reined in completely, even when I try.
A thing about my style I'm hoping will evolve in the future is I want to learn more from writers like you who are writing so beautifully and effectively in English as a second language. Using my high school Spanish to write anything more complex or poetic than "Booker piensa que Nile es hermosa y tiene razón" (Booker thinks Nile's gorgeous and he's right) feels impossible to me. But English has a much larger vocabulary than Spanish for a bunch of historical reasons, and I have access to several (but importantly not all) registers of that vocabulary for a bunch of personal as well as structural class-and-race reasons, and the significance of word choice as an element of style probably operates differently in a language like Spanish with its relatively smaller vocab inventory so that means other stylistic choices I'm completely unaware of are probably doing super cool things to express the layers of meaning I've been taught to lean on word choice to accomplish in English — this is an enormous area of comparative linguistics but one small example of the ways we can shift our writing styles to more effectively express our ideas to people with different linguistic frames of reference. All that's even more interesting given the staggering diversity of language experience among our immortal blorbos. I don't know what particular stylistic changes might be in the future for me along these lines, it's just a thing I'm thinking about.
📡why is writing and sharing your writing important for fandom?
I love that you asked this because it gives me the excuse to say fandom is important! It's part of our lives! Hobbies we do for fun and stress relief aren't The Most Important Thing In the World but they're still part of our lives and part of the world and therefore what happens in fandom matters! Nile Freeman is a fantastically rich, complex, well-drawn main character and she deserves tons and tons of fandom content about her, and I'm a part of that and so are you! Fuck yeah!
I also really cherish my part in building Jewish Booker. The overwhelming majority of Jewish representation in mainstream US movies and tv comes through filters: Jews in the 19th and 20th centuries being pushed into the entertainment industry by several European countries' discriminatory policies and that tradition carrying over in the US despite legal equality, Euro-descended Jews being model minority-ized by the post-WW2 US that very much did /not/ involve itself in that war to stop the Holocaust but chose to frame itself that way after the fact, lots of individual Jews' family trauma and internalized shame and fear of the next wave of antisemitism around the corner, etc etc. The result is most US media that includes Jews is made either by Jews who feel enormous pressure to represent our entire people in a way that's perceived as palatable and nonthreatening to white culturally-Christian people or more often by non-Jews who've absorbed decades of iterating carbon copies of what previous generations thought was palatable. US Jews invented comic books and the superhero genre and yet the first MCU property to have an explicitly Jewish character was the 6th tv show in Phase 4.
There just isn't much mainstream content about Jews in my country, one of the two places where most of the world's Jews live, made by Jews who uncomplicatedly like being Jewish and don't have big economic and cultural pressures on them to represent all of us in Certain Ways. Wow, I didn't realize this rant was building up in me until I started typing. Anyway yeah I get to be honest about what Jewishness means to me and what I think it would mean for Booker and share it with people through fandom with just a little teeny tiny bit of a filter (my own internalized stuff) compared to the many layers of mess that mainstream content has to go through before it reaches non-Jews all over the world who consume US media and who may or may not know many Jews personally.

So in school this one year I had this one bitch in my class whom we will call Regina George for hopefully obvious reasons. And she was just. A massive bigot. Constantly bullying the neurodivergent kids, being an asshole to gay ppl, openly hating sushi. She was just,,, the worst. And I had made it my personal mission to destroy her (not like that you sickos). I drew a shitty copy of her face and stuck it to a pillow whenever I needed to punch something and you may think I'm lying about that much like a politician may say he wants equal opportunity for all, or a person on the internet claims I'm "really not that attractive so I should stop worshipping myself" which doesn't even make sense because like hello can you see me rn and also all my trauma and mental illnesses are stored in my dump truck ass which is why it's so big and you probably think I'm deflecting my deep rooted insecurities by making jokes about how hot I am which is not true and- point is I really hated this Regina bitch. So deep was my burning desire to set her hair on fire that I hatched a plan. Regina obviously wants more bigots and Trump supporters in positions of power, right? What better way to anger her than have me, an openly queer and pagan punk that's read the communist manifesto 3 times, get onto the school council leadership team? Pretty smart, right? Wrong. I had no leadership experience whatsoever and in hindsight I probably should've been focused on getting onto the team to help people rather than have my one motivation be a giant middle finger to some rich cishet girl who's dad is probably gone. Ok that was dark but you get what I'm saying, I hated this bitch. But anyway, I gave my big speech about leadership and equality and if I got onto the team I'd give the school bathrooms actually good toilet paper that doesn't feel like I'm having intercourse with a cactus covered in sandpaper. And it worked. My unhinged demonic definitely-possessed-by-a-crack-addict, stop-trying-to-drink-the-box-of-juice-you-found-in-a-bin-wtf-is-wrong-with-you self got onto a team full of white brunette children with rich parents. Excellent. Now all I needed to do was convert a herd of pubescent children into spitting on Regina's shoes and throwing gas cans back at the police. Shouldn't be hard, right? Wrong again. Apparently no one is willing to listen to a short feminine presenting dork with anger issues. Weird. My plan to make Regina's life miserable was failing. And there was only one thing left to do. You know those thoughts you get, where the side of your brain that practices kindness and forgiveness tells you not to do it but the other side that eats crayons and memories WAP is telling you to do it for no other reason than it'd be fucking hilarious if you were a character in a tv show (which I'm starting to feel like with U guys. I'm not mad tho, I feel like a small mammal in an enclosure as a group of four year olds watches me take a shit as they start giggling hysterically). So I stared deep into the mirror of agony and asked God where my moral stance lies if not elsewhere than replaceable specks of dust on a dirt road. And god, with her many mouths and her many tragedies, says nothing. So anyway I bought a roll of stickers of the lgbt pride flag online and stuck them on all of Regina's belongings without her knowing. Yes it was funny as shit no I don't regret being an asshole. The immense amount of joy it brought me to see this girl become enraged and try to frantically tear off a sticker of a rainbow off her school bag. Which really proves that you can do all the goodness your heart demands of you but at the end of the day death and life do not care what you have done and so why not make yourself immortal. Anyways this has been fun bestie love U also who do you speculate I am I'm curious 💖💖💖
oh my gods i don’t know if i should be proud or terrified, i’m most likely feeling both. but honestly she had it coming

Hey! Not sure if you participate in Worldbuilding Wednesday - if not, feel free to ignore this. BUT IF SO.
I'm fairly new to your work - BUT - is there anything about your WIPs you've been working on lately? Anything you want to share? Perhaps a little detail about a character you figured out recently? Or even a little worldbuilding detail you were thinking about and developing recently? Perhaps even a little bit of inspiration you got from reading or art lately?
Wombo serving your needs well? ୧(^ 〰 ^)୨
If not, I'd just like to nudge you and say hi :D If so, I look forward to your rambles 🙈✨❤️
@bloodlessheirbyjacques (:
hello !! i love writeblr themed days and thank you DEARLY for the questions, but i tend to participate in a liminal time space where wednesday could also mean friday <3
SO. Despite my best efforts to focus on my primary projects, this little story has swarmed all the useful parts of my brain. It developed out of a very strange dream and a trope I've always loved: monster x monster hunter. Plenty of the world-building and the exact sequence of events is still an exciting fog, but I've mostly riddled out the plot and character arcs. Artwork and information below, and here's a little summary from my WIPs page...
THE HUNGER ROT // dark fantasy, immortal warriors, magic harvested from blood. After several hundred years of fighting together, the death of her sister leaves Peony hollow. Hollow enough to help a vampyric sorceress pursue revenge against her maker.
A lot of my projects have a strong theme of healing and self-discovery, and The Hunger Rot is about the crush of immortality - the regrets that never fade, the loss that never gets easier, and loneliness as the price for power. I'm still tinkering with the world, but the story has a gritty medieval feel where magic is relatively common and effectually versatile - but all magic requires the sacrifice of life. Ripping up some flowers may heal the bruises on your knuckles, and burning a century-old tree could cure plague from an entire village. Aggressive and powerful magic comes from blood - slitting the palm may summon a swirl of fire, and slitting a throat could burn a forest.
As you might expect, this produces some not-so-friendly sorcerers who prefer that others pay the price for their power. But the truly prolific mages are those that make the ultimate sacrifice - their own life. They become vampyr - unaging mages who don't have to burn flowers or slit palms to use magic. They trade that inconvenience for drinking blood. This practice is incredibly controversial; some countries have it outlawed under execution while others encourage their warriors into it. But not everyone can endure the process - some are too weak for the sacrifice and die instead, some are consumed by the ensuing bloodlust and wither into mindless ghouls.
Fugitive sorcerers and bloodthirsty ghouls (and all the other sharp-toothed hungry creatures lurking about the forests) are challenging threats, and most people (even mages) do not survive the experience. So if you have a nasty ghoul problem, you enlist a handy-dandy Marrow! (also called Sourbloods, Red Warriors, pest control, hunters...) Marrows are mercenaries - they can't perform any magic, but they are immortal through the process of drinking vampyr blood. This stalls their aging, heals minor wounds, and grants them relative protection from anything thirsty for blood (no creature wants to drink vampyr blood - it's already been corrupted through the act of sacrifice). But drinking vampyr blood is also a death sentence for most people - Marrows go through years of grueling training and several sacrificial trials before making the final step.
and now the two main characters!! here are some random sketches i mashed together and colored real quick :v
Tumblr media
SASHKA is a very old vampyr, at least several centuries, and time has empowered her, numbed her, and rotted her sense of purpose. When Peony first meets her (a hundred years or so before the story begins), Sashka is obsessed with the thrill of power and the independence it allows. She's charming, cunning, and everything she says or does furthers her own ambitions. Peony would trust the manners of a ghoul before closing her eyes in Sashka's presence. But when years pass and Sashka seeks out help for a desperate quest, it becomes clear that the price for true independence is more than the soul can afford.
PEONY isn't quite so old as Sashka, but the years have battered her worse. After losing their father and triplet to ghouls, Peony and her (now twin) sister Rose endure the trials of the Marrow. Peony has always been stern and sullen, her sister an extroverted opposite, their dynamic a perfect balance as they travel and fight across the lands for many centuries - so when Rose dies rather abruptly, Peony is left a ghost of herself. Continuing on feels meaningless after so many lifetimes, but when her old enemy Sashka approaches with a stupidly perilous plan of revenge, Peony agrees to one last adventure. But sometimes deciding to die reveals all our reasons for living.
ok that's all for now :v thanks for reading <3

OC Name Meanings
Tagged by @wretched-mischief ! Thank you! Sorry it took so long 😅
August Ripley:
August ->
Origin: Latin
Meaning: Majestic, Venerable. Venerable definition being "accorded a great deal of respect, especially because of age, wisdom, or character "
Why: Just that definition of venerable I feel fits August rather nicely as a character. Since he struggled with whether or not to use his Necromancy at all, he ultimately decides that he can use it to do good and since he's (in a way) immortal, he takes it upon himself to make sure his power doesn't fall into the wrong hands or is used in the wrong situations. But really I chose August because I love the sound of it as a name and it's my favorite month/season because it's around when fall starts. 🧡
Ripley ->
Origin: English
Meaning: "strip of clearing in the woods"
Why: Mostly because its inspired by Alien's Ellen Ripley, whose courage and determination to do right was a huge inspiration for the character and paired with August just sounded badass. 😂
Rosemary Gonzales:
Rosemary ->
Origin: Latin
Meaning: "dew of the sea" / namesake of the herb
Why: In her story she prefers to go by Rose and is associated with the flower by Raven. I mostly picked it because it sounds soft and she keeps her full name hidden because she feels that it's only allowed for the very few friends and family members she has to use it. In a way it keeps a vulnerable part of herself hidden and safe from those who would wish any harm on her loved ones.
Gonzales ->
Origin: Spanish
Meaning: "battle, elf "
Why: I just needed a last name for Rose so this one just popped up and sounded well with Rosemary. Maybe inspired by a friend of mine whose last name is Gonzales though...
Wendy McCoy:
Wendy ->
Origin: British
Meaning: "Friend"
Why: I was going to name her Wanda but I wasn't sure. So I picked Wendy because while I liked the sound of Wanda I didn't want to associate her in my brain with Wanda Maximoff. Wendy sounds very soft and kind, just like she is in her story.
McCoy ->
Origin: Scottish/Irish
Meaning: "fire"
Why: This one is actually on the nose and I didn't even mean for it to. 😂 I picked McCoy because in the story with Wendy being a nurse she's very kind and compassionate but she's always also just about ready to stab a bitch if she needs to. Not easily angered but if she believes someone she loves is in danger she'll stop at nothing to help them if she can. So although she can be very sweet don't be fooled into thinking she can't help herself in a fight. She got a little fire in her after all.
Her last name is also a little Star Trek reference that Lionel catches onto and affectionately nicknames her "Bones". 😂
I mean for a guy who let's people call him "Elvis", Wendy thinks it's an amusing trade in their relationship.
I'm not sure who to tag next so if anyone wants to do this you are more than welcome to!!

explain the entire papyrus iceberg please i know like 2 things on it
Tumblr media
Papyrus' suit is a costume party outfit:
Papyrus' Battle Body is a costume made for a party he attended a few weeks before the game takes place, this is mentioned by Sans at the electric maze I believe.
Papyrus can't kill you:
Zarla made a post where they managed to screen record a fight with Papyrus where they were knocked down to 1HP and before they could heal they were hit with another bone and Papyrus immediately stopped the fight. In the GIF the bone makes contact and the soul flashes like it has been hit but NO HEALTH IS LOST. Papyrus is so against killing the human he can make attacks that do 0 damage.
Papyrus is the younger brother:
The official Japanese Localization of UT, for which Toby gave extensive notes for pretty much every line of dialog, has Papyrus refer to Sans as Nii-Chan. I would throw a screenshot as evidence but I cannot read any Japanese at all so I could accidentally put the wrong screencap, and unless you read it, it wouldn't really be helpful. If you do read it, get UT and change the language to Japanese. Another interesting thing is how Papyrus' speech is written in the traditional fashion which I don't think anyone else does.

Came up with an idea last night that all Papyrus fans should come together and draw picture(s) of Papyrus saying fuck or swearing and post it on the same day so the people who constantly leave comments about how "Sans is gonna be so mad when he finds out someone corrupted his brother" 🙄 will be killed by the sheer force of it all instantly.
So anyways I declare that June 16th is Let Papyrus Say Fuck Day, all you gotta do is draw Papyrus swearing, or if you want, doing other things that the fandom at large would lose their minds over. Like Papyrus gambling or committing arson. It doesn't have to be high art, it can be a shitposty little doodle. Post it on the 16th and tag it with #LetPapyrusSayFuck as well as Undertale and Papyurs so everyone else can find them. Reblog this post or send it to your Papyrus loving friends, the more participants the better.
Edit: Please also add the tag 'swearing' so those upset by profanity can filter it, as it is one of the most standard tags for doing so. :>

Avatar: The Last Airbender x Dream SMP AU
i wrote this because i recently rewatched A:TLA for the millionth time and my brain just ran with it. so, here it is!
you can send in blurbs/imagines/hedcanons/questions if you want to! this is all just for fun. if my requests are open, however, you can request fics set in this AU!
please bare in mind that this is my first time doing an AU, so please be patient with me.
note: this takes place outside the A:TLA canon, so characters like Aang, Katara, Sokka or otherwise are not present!
~
water tribe;
head: philza
- a calm and thoughtful man. phil is like the embodiment of the water element. he's flexible and lets the waves take him anywhere, yet he can drown cities in an instant if he so pleases. he's a master waterbender, even teaching self-defense, but phil has never been a fighter. he'd much rather settle conflict with words than violence, but if he's on the battlefield you better have an entire army ready.
- he's a warm-hearted man, but don't think you can take advantage of his hospitality. phil is a wise man, he can tell when you're lying to him. he can read people like books, some even go as far as to say he can read minds.
- many people of the tribes see phil as a father figure. he makes it a point to always have his palace open for his people, and even lets them stay the night if they please. he loves to read to the children that reside within his home while their parents rest up from their day.
fire nation;
head: technoblade
- techno is a brave warrior that has turned the tides in many wars. he has passion that can't be matched and a strong sense of justice. he is the most agressive out of the 4 leaders, but he is extremely loyal and protective to his alliances.
- he wears his scars like trophies, he barely covers them up. he only ever covers up when he is going to battle, wearing a pig's skull on his head. his brute force and agressive fighting style can make even the bravest hearts tremble. there are people claimed to have seen him get crushed by boulders, eaten by monsters or stabbed right in the heart and survived, earning him quite the title; immortal.
- many people outside of the fire nation fear technoblade, known as a merciless fighter. but the people within the nation know him as a kind and giving ruler, regularly visiting the poorer side of the towns.
earth kingdom;
head: dream
- dream is known to be very decieving. his personality varies depending who he talks to. if he's talking to people within the kingdom he's friendly, playing with the children and having lively conversations with the townsfolk.
- to his alliances he's a smart and calculating man, a sight only few people get to see. he's cold in his actions yet warm with his words, which is why he's so terrifying to his enemies.
- dream's face is always hidden. no one's ever seen it and lived to tell the tale. though, there have been rumours among the maids in the palace that he's quite handsome.
air nomads;
head: georgenotfound
- at first glance people see him as a young man who simply got his power handed to him on a silver platter, but that couldn't be further from the truth. george is an extremely intelligent fighter, only making steps that are necessary to preserve energy. no one can match his dedication to the art of airbending.
- outside the nomads he's known as a lazy ad unmotivated leader that simply sits in his home all day, but inside the temples you can find him wandering the plaza with a book in hand, reading to whoever may listen.
- george likes to look at conflict very objectively, always lookig for a practical way to get a favorable endresult. he's a quick thinker and sees opportunities and chances in places many would give up hope. he has never lead his people into battles and came back with less than promised.

thank you all for 1k followers <3
i'll also be writing about the other characters, which i will link here vv
