ok but imogen, whose first defense is to withdraw and put up mental shields, acting like everything is fine and nothing’s happened makes a lot of sense
and also makes the desperation and awkwardness laced in laudna’s voice and movements (laudna, who is never restrained, who is always herself) hurt SO much more agh

I have so many thoughts for short hair imogen and this one month hiatus is going to be purely indulgent. Am I jumping on this bandwagon? Yes, yes I am.

Laudna getting a thoughtful personal gift from Chetney at a time when she’s so upset and alone and in pain is just too much for me to handle right now.

💜 🖤 💔
Cant stop thinking about Laudna just sinking to her knees at the front of the ship, eyes vacant, those words echoing echoing echoing, not registering the night as it passes, only stirring when Orym finds her just when he comes up to go through his exercises in the early dawning light: curled on the weathered planks, the pieces of gem still clutched in her palm.
She wipes the trails of dark tears from her eyes, and does her best to situate a smile across her face. Her soft “It’s alright. It’ll be alright.” is as close as she can get to honesty- she isn’t sure she believes her own words, can see he isn’t certain either- but at the very least it’s lacking the false brightness she can so easily don like armor.
She sets a hand on his shoulder in response to the clear concern on his face, the genuine “are you okay?” that she knows he actually means.
He doesn’t miss that her response didn’t quite match his question, and wonders what “it” is as Laudna disappears down the stairs into the ship.
///
Also thinking about Laudna doing what she does best- finding a dark, forgotten corner, making it her own. Settling between some crates and a wall deep in the cargo hold, disappearing into the darkness, a gentle “I’ve found a spot to nap, just need some space please” sent to Orym, who she knows is the most likely to respect her request for privacy.
Imogen wakes in the morning, panic rising despite all the other emotions churning in her chest when Laudna hasn’t returned to the room, when she’s not in with the others, in the mess or on the deck.
Orym spots her increasingly wild eyes, breaking from his exercise routine to come and lay a soft hand on her glove, relaying Laudna’s message about finding somewhere to take a nap.
When that seems to only slightly ease Imogen’s distress, he opens his mouth, then pauses, concern and respect for his friend’s privacy warring. Imogen notices.
“What? What is it?”
Oryms brows crease further. If anyone has insight into Laudna, it’s Imogen. The concern wins out.
“I- I think Laudna slept on the deck last night?” He phrases it as a question, though he’s almost certain that it’s true. He waits, other questions in his eyes that he doesn’t say. (Why didn’t she go back to your room? What’s wrong? Are you okay? Is she okay?)
But Imogen’s throat has locked up and all she can manage is a tight nod and a strangled “Oh. Okay.”

Laudna shakes Dusk's hand, and Dusk
can feel how cold her skin is.
Laudna: "Hi. I'm Laudna!"
Dusk: "You know what they say, cold
hands, warm heart!"
Could we get Dusk romancing Laudna and some jealous Imogen, I’m here for it

if the last campaign taught us anything about laura bailey, it’s that she plays subtle jealousy brilliantly (along with everything else)
I for one cannot wait to see how the rest of this rocky period between imogen and laudna plays out
