Intimacy of all kinds with Roman is a highly complicated affair. This isn't a secret, it's literally canon. On one hand, he desires closeness so desperately, but he's so scared of letting his walls down; I feel like it would take a very, very long time for him to let you in, even if you've been in a relationship for a while.

Actual penetrative sex is probably a no-go. At least not for a looooong time. Maybe someday. But for now, you're content to take what he is ready to give you; he appreciates your understanding - nobody's ever really got it. But you do, you get it, and he's beyond grateful.

You both lay there for a long moment, staring up at the ceiling, chests heaving, fingers intertwined.

You're worried you've done something wrong when he wordlessly gets up and leaves the room, but he comes back a few minutes later, cleaned up, with a towel for you to do the same.

Once you're both clean, he lays back down with you. You think that'll be it for the night, that you won't say a word and that you'll go to sleep, but then he's pulling you against him, arms wrapping around you, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.

He doesn't say anything, but he doesn't need to. The intimacy of it all makes your heart swell - the fact that he trusted you enough to go this far, that he didn't run when it was all said and done.

You loved him more than you could put into words, but somehow, deep down, you knew that he knew.

c - courtship, what do they do to hint at wanting to get together? is it obvious they’re courting you or subtle? 

Diavolo finds it too easy to gift you things under the guise of friendship. And while part of him would love to present you with glittering gems or precious rings, treasures that don't even come close to your value to him. He needs to remember to demonstrate greater subtly.

A fact that Barbatos reminds him of quite often. And normally he intends to do so. It would make far greater sense to wait until in private to gift you with the little charm he saw that reminded him of you. But the anticipation of your reaction proves too much for him, and he ends up handing it to you the second he sees you next.

This is common with most things. He'll have already arranged to meet with you later, but will have the sudden urge to see you immediately and will set out to do just that. He often wonders to himself if you're aware of how tightly you've managed to ensnare him so strongly within his own impulses.

"You only last saw me an hour ago." You joke, with a smile that he adores.

"And it was one of the longest hours of my life." When you laugh, he concludes that you don't realise it.

And maybe it's a good thing. Especially considering his first thought when hearing your laughter was that he'd do anything to be able to keep hearing the sound.

p - pining, what is it like when they pine? is it obvious when they do it? do they keep it well hidden? how much will they pine before finally confessing? 

Diavolo feels so far away from you. That distance, however, seems to be of his own making. While he isn't outright avoiding you, he doesn't linger too long in your presence, especially when you're with someone else. He wants it to be him. But he's afraid of what may happen if he voices his intent so plainly.

You were his treasured friend before his heart became greedy, and it makes your presence irreplaceable. He could survive rejection. At least he thinks so. While yes his heart will ache for years to come, yearning for an arrival of a joining due to never appear. Your value to him would not diminish for it.

But if you were to retract. To completely avoid him all together. The strangling sensation of a new found loneliness without you around, may be an agony of which he wouldn't recover. Which is why for now he stalls from having to make a decision, and the easiest way is to do so, is by minimizing how long he is with you.

For every second he's with you, his heart demands an hour.

y - yours, what was it like when they realised they were in love? what were they doing? how did they react? 

It's such a mundane moment when it dawns on him. That Diavolo vows to himself that should you ever ask the question of when he realised he was in love with you, he'll lie and make it a moment far grander then what actually occurred.

He passed you by in the hall. As he had done several days before, stopping to greet you only for whatever conversation either of you were having to be cut short by Barbatos reminding him of the time.

It was as he headed to his next destination that differed from the other times. His thoughts were him hoping to enjoy a moment with you without the interruptions of others. To have you and your time all to himself, for as long as he could manage.

When he starts to plan out all the ways he could make it happen, he notices the way his heart races with delight at the thought of having you to himself. A grin had also firmly planted itself on his features while he mentally played out his schemes.

It's as the pieces start to all fit together he becomes aware of the lingering intent behind everything.

His love for you coming out into the open, leaving him to think on his plans further.

King of Cups: Jake love someone that is very emotionally mature. Someone that have a soft demeanor yet stern. Someone compassionate and possesses a deep understanding of others will appeal to him. An emotionally intelligent person. He likes if someone can adept at reading emotional cues and provide support where needed. By having an emotional nature that is balanced , it will enable this person to navigate complex emotional landscapes with ease and grace. I think he feels that it is a skill that not everyone can have . Its rare nowadays to have emotionally intelligent people around. Most people can be insensitive to others and Jake don't like that kind of people. So if someone posseses this , he would instantly find you attractive.

Queen of Pentacles: Jake really likes people that are warm and approachable. Someone that is easygoing, easy to talk to and just someone that is not closed off. With this card, he likes someone that is practical but at the same time being able to maintain a balance between caring for others effectively. So someone that is 'standing on business' but still nurturing. He also likes someone that calm and stable. Very grounded. Not someone that is easily swayed. Just overall sensible.

Knight of swords reversed: with this card, i am getting that he don't really like someone that is assertive. Someone that is always on the move? I feel like he likes someone with grounded energy. In other words, impulsive people turns him off. He don't really like daredevils. To him people like this are reckless, they don't weight pros and cons. Jake feel like its not beneficial to take actions without thinking of the consequences especially if it affects people arround them. This is a massive turn off for him. I rarely read reversals for ideal types so this must be something he really don't like. Someone that is impatient when making decisions.

Four of Swords: with this card, he likes someone that is very self-reflective. Someone that is introspective. Jake finds that if someone can pause and have moments where they reflect on their actions , it shows self awareness. With the introspections the person can know how to improve on themselves and grow as an even better person over time. Being able to point out your flaws and work on it , is something admirable to him. Usually to Jake, people like to brush over their flaws and weaknesses. Some are not even able to admit that they have things that they need to work on. So if someone is not shy to admit they are not perfect and then proceed to work to be better, he likes that.

King of Swords: he likes someone smart. Someone that is very intellectual. Jake thinks that having a partner that can challenge his intellects is hot. This person may be someone that is a skilled strategist, able to make decisions with clarity and have a good precision. Someone that is clear-headed would be good at making decisions. Most importantly he likes someone that is Honest. Someone with integrity. Jake likes if the person is straightforward with no bad intentions behind .He dont like two-faced people. And lastly with this card, Jake thinks actions speaks louder than words. So someone that proves themselves not just a talker. To him empty promises is useless if they are not backed with actions.

In conclusion: he likes someone that is soft but at the same time can be strict. Someone that is sensible and can make great decisions accordingly. Not impulsive and rushed. Jake likes someone that can admit when they are weak or wrong. Work on that mistake. But at same time can be practical despite being nurturing.

Ohh thank you so, so much! 💗 That was such a great surprise to find. I’ll answer it for my 4 main OCs, because it’s very hard to decide. CIAN, Dark Urge in BG3, Drow, Sorcerer, in love with Raphael: His deadly sin is Greed. When he wants something, he wants it fully and doesn’t accept any less, no matter the price. His main virtues are Consideration - in most cases, he thinks carefully and analyses all facts before making a decision -, Creativity - his imagination is strong and he loves storytelling in all forms - and Passion. Flexible morale based on the company nails it for him. He doesn’t view himself as a good person, but he isn’t out there intending to actively harm others either and he fights the dark impulse to do so when it hits or when rage or helplessness almost drives him there. Sometimes, Cian even protects (to a degree and in case the cost isn’t too high) when he sees strong injustice, despite his haughtiness. He has a few principles he sticks with. When someone gets his loyalty, they have it forever, to name an example. At the same time, he can be very selfish with the things he wants and needs. He longs for knowledge and power – he collects it to place himself above others, not to rule them but out of a self-driven arrogance and a strong need for independence. On the other hand, he has quite an obsessive streak when something – or someone – captures his interest or even wins his love. His major virtues …: Confidence - he knows his strengths and loves to debate and to provoke -, Courage - he rarely ever is afraid -, and Loyalty - protecting those important to him with all he got no matter the price. Rowley is an assassin, so being a good person seems to be off the table for him. He has a trickster mentality, loves to challenge people, to shock and offend them, and to paint himself in the worst possible light – much worse than he actually is. He makes it terribly easy (deliberately so) to overlook the good things he does. While Salvadore, who absolutely views himself as a good person, often thinks strategically before he acts and considers the best course and consequences in the long run and may decide to hold back with open help for this reason or that, Rowley goes in and does what feels right to him. Eneas doesn’t believe in good or evil or in the importance of those principles. Each being carries both. The worst deed can create something new and beautiful; the best intention can destroy it again. No, he is not a good person but his morals are not flexible either. He has his codex, his philosophy. He plays his games, some of them small and intimate, some immense, influencing families or whole cities/nations. He did as much good as he did evil in his long life. Some deeds he regrets, but he neither tends to be ridden by guilt nor is he especially prideful when he changes lives for the better. His attention is on the people he guides, ruins, advises, entertains, deceives. That’s what holds his interest and attention, a good story, an exciting reaction, a well-planned result, or a little surprise.

“for me?” you felt a small blush creep up onto your cheeks. the woman nodded her head, passing the book back to you.

“of course. you have good taste in books. that one has been on my ‘to read’ list for a while. i’m lucy” the woman now called lucy held out her hand for you to shake. you politely shook her hand and said introduced yourself back.

“i’m afraid this is the last book on the shelf..” you frowned. it was also on your ‘to read list’ you watched as lucy nodded, eyes shining a small bit of disappointment. you made an impulse decision and shoved the book into lucy’s hands.

“you can take it, i don’t mind! - i can just order it online or something” lucy stood there for a moment in shock.

“we could take turns? i would feel bad since you found it first- here” lucy gave you back the book and took her phone out. “i can give you my contact number? when you’re finished reading you can give it to me. sound fair? we both get to read it at the end of the day” it did sound fair to you. yet the feeling of guilt set upon your stomach again, knowing you were the one to leave with the book today and not lucy.

you opened your phone, giving it to lucy as she typed in her contact. in front of you, the words ‘Lucy 💗’ was staring back at you, making you smile.

“there’s no need to. i promise. consider it like.. co parenting a child, but it’s a book” this had both of you laughing. lucy following you up to the cash register, her own book in hand, waiting to check out after you.

I literally have zero good experiences with men irl, so I’m certainly a very cautious person. Maybe I’m a bit biased, but I’m not a fan of large age gaps in relationships (despite writing abt them, but that’s something entirely different), and I think it’s always a bit sus when a guy hits on a girl/woman significantly younger than him. Why don’t you ask out women your age? I’m literally a broke student with an identity crisis, what do you want from me? My inner values? Sure.

This is a hard no for me, it just came so sudden earlier that I impulsively said „I’ll think about it“ but I’m definitely not interested. I liked him as a colleague so far, but not beyond work. i would be THRILLED to tell you all about my beloved daughter. pics and exhaustive description below the cut

andromeda elo (or andromeda viator caecus) is, as you could probably sus out, my mixed garlean/roegadyn girlprince wol💗

she's very into the whole "embodying a super idealized image of The Hero" thing. some would say to her detriment. her decision to run away from her upbringing in garlemald and throw herself headlong into life as an adventurer was, initially, a pretty childish and impulsive one. then some stuff happened and now she's eorzea's champion so. that's pretty irreversible at this point

she's quite cagey about her past- despite hardly being the only garlean defector among them, she has it in her head that the truth of her identity would get in the way of being a perfect, uncomplicated symbol. and for reasons she's not yet willing to self-reflect on, the thought of losing that (totally definitely attainable) status is unbearable to her.

that said, if you spend enough time with her, you'll probably notice that her various stories don't quite add up or that the way she talks can be a bit strange at times. she was raised to be a proper lady, and even though she's rejected that box her whole life, it's not something she's truly free of, even as Thee warrior of light

she (by which i mean me, but i'm doing it for immersion) spent arr/hw as a paladin (it has the aesthetic she likes and isn't magic heavy- she grew up taking for granted that this was out of reach for her. but it's not.) then switched to red mage early on in sb after getting her shit rocked by zenos and having a full-on crisis of identity

the deeper Lore to her backstory is that her mother, lucretia eir caecus, was once an idealistic adventurer in her own right- in her time outside of the empire, she had a passionate affair with a man that she no longer speaks of. despite this, she ultimately found herself becoming the second wife of the head of a particularly stifling military family.

already bearing the mark of being an illegitimate child (and one othered by being visibly not-garlean among what i imagine was a pretty damn hostile environment, at that), lucretia raised her daughter strictly, believing that her keeping her head down and playing a more demure role was the only route she had to a comfortable life in their environment. naturally this didn't go over well with teen andromeda, who was just old enough to remember a time before her mother was so embittered and resigned to their fate, and resents her for it.

as for her father, i still haven't figured that part out andromeda knows next to nothing about him. she's not even sure if he's alive or not. her only keepsake from him was signed e. loetwilfsyn which, due to her not knowing a word of roegadyn, became bastardized into elo, the name she adopted in eorzea.

uhh this has gotten really long so here's some lightning round notes on relationships

she's a lesbian but i'm not sure she's properly sorted that one out yet despite a very long string of intense female friendships because her weird sense of identity keeps getting in the way

in ARR, she had a little crush on minfilia that had absolutely nothing to do with her as a person and everything to do with liking feeling like a dutiful little knight who answered to a woman who was authoritative.. but still gave her ample opportunity to feel like the big hero saving the princess. she thought this was normal

in HW, she was utterly taken by ysayle for slightly adjacent reasons. this went just as poorly as the first one. maybe worse.

has a DEEPLY personal vendetta against zenos for. you know. being both an embodiment of her homeland and being a real prince. except her animosity crumbles into primal, bone-deep fear in his actual presence

(i haven't actually finished sb yet so i'm jumping the gun with this last one but i'm too obsessed with it not to share)

emet-selch reminds her of her mom. it's going to be exactly as psychologically harrowing as that sentence suggests. please look forward to that it's gonna get really weird over here in about a month

if anything suggests i have any love whatsoever for walter white, i have been doing my job here entirely incorrectly adljkgfkjhgh

walt is a great character - monstrously compelling, brilliantly acted (bryan was lauded for a reason!), and while i definitely have discussed his evolution (or devolution, as it were) and the fact that at times i still find tattered remnants of sympathy for him and tragic fallibility from him, i'd also push him off a cliff without hesitation. i posted a tweet a while back that said something like, "breaking bad is full of characters i love to watch, better call saul is full of characters i love," and that (with the exclusion of jesse) sums it up fairly succinctly for me, and is why - as a character person first and foremost - i'm far more emotionally attached to bcs. i think breaking bad is ultimately narratively stronger (i didn't expect to say this), but better call saul made me love and care about its players so deeply that it's the best at character study. (obviously these are completely subjective opinions, and in many ways the shows are quite different and difficult to compare because their strengths and highlights play for varying reasons!)

jimmy, on the other hand...there are things that maybe should've turned me on jimmy (scamming, lying), but they just. didn't. part of me wonders if it's my affinity and empathy for kim coming through since kim loves him, and because of how i feel regarding their story and aching romance together, but even beyond that, in jimmy's better qualities, in his relationship with his brother, in the way he does try, but is so doomed in his story before it even begins...his character and shifting identity and place in his narrative universe is gripping and sympathetic to me. such a huge part of it is bob's performance - someone else probably would've played him sleazier or more arrogant, but bob managed to take him from the garish comic relief in brba to a man struggling inwardly with his sense of self, with his worth, with his darker impulses vs. his innate affability, someone who has such heart and pathos that it's devastating and horrible watching him erode. the fact that he's capable not only of humor but also of kindness and vulnerability, and yet opposite that weaponizes his likability and his intelligence and his trauma to harmful effect, the way the narrative convinced us to root for him and want better for him even though we knew where he was headed, it works in such a powerful way. a very human way. i feel like we got to know jimmy in a much more intimate sense - there's a wall between us and walt from the beginning, often a violent one, but jimmy in his crummy little nail salon office feels accessible. jimmy pining for love and acceptance feels more tangible than power hunger. jimmy lashing out and curling into himself hurts, jimmy making decisions to reclaim his name and find some piece of himself (or peace in himself) and a delicate reconnection with the woman he loves, his one person in the world, infused with such loss and melancholy, is bittersweet and haunting.

walt is always on a collision course with death, but it's as though jimmy is always on a collision course with life, with choosing how, even after harm and self-loathing and tragedy, one continues to seek to live. there's an irrepressible spirit in jimmy somehow. in kim too. a flickering flame in darkness. it isn't much, but it's something eternal in spite of the odds.

i'm not explaining this well, but idk! i just feel such an enormous amount of love and sorrow for him. and he's my pathetic bestie

When you cut your hair it's almost an impulsive decision because your gender dysphoria kept telling you how feminine you looked, despite that not necessarily being the case at all, and you just want that voice to go away.

You do it while Dan is still at work and once you're done you feel very insecure, like you're the most unattractive person on earth. It makes you scared of Dan coming home to seeing you like this, quickly putting you in a different crisis.

While you're still alone, you keep trying to save your looks and feel better about it, but to no avail. The longer you attempt to fix things and look in the mirror, the worse you feel.

It's too late anyway when Danny comes home soon enough, immediately knowing that something is wrong - he's felt it ever since it started and it only got stronger the closer he got to returning home.

He asks what's wrong, stopping when he sees you. Of course it's a little jarring to suddenly see you with short hair after having been used to your long one, but he knows it was the same for you when he was suddenly clean shaven.

You hide your face with your hands and shake your head, telling him to not look at you because you're ugly and you regret cutting your hair now, but you had to do it. You're nearly hyperventilating at that point.

Dan uses his shine to calm you down a bit, until you take your hands away from your face and he wraps his arms around you. He brushes his fingers through your hair with a soft smile on his lips and tells you that you're gorgeous. You always are. Handsome, gorgeous, beautiful, everything.

He does his best to quiet down this voice in your heard that's saying it's all lies, that he doesn't like you anymore. He kisses you breathless, peppers your face in little kisses as well, all while playing with your short hair.

It helps after a while. You feel better. Less dysphoric, less unattractive, less remorseful. You may have always liked your long hair, but perhaps it was time to find a different hairstyle that would give you gender euphoria and still serve as a signature for your liking of metal music.

io is cautious where estinien is impulsive; they balance each other a lot in decision making. he pushes her and she steadies him. both are reserved and value privacy.

i think the biggest personality clash that could lead to disagreements would be the places their moral codes don't totally align? estinien pulling an "impale first, ask questions later" compared to io's bleeding heart is going to be an argument eventually 😂 that's not to say one is right and one is wrong, it's all situational. sometimes you need to talk it out, sometimes you need to maim.

most of the time, they are a first-names-only couple. it's about the way the names are said? io will pepper in some pet names here and there: "darling" or "my love" are the go-tos. i have a whole hc around the one thing estinien uses for her when he's feeling especially mushy. during those times he's just overwhelming happy or taken by her, he will drop a "mon âme." he is very shaky on the meaning but it's something his parents used back and forth, so he associates it with very soft, very pleasant memories. to him, it doesn't matter what it means, only that it feels right to use it with io.

i don't think so! they're used to traveling alone tbh. sure, they miss each other and are always relieved to get back safely. but they don't have separation anxiety.
