I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.
I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.
I get them whenever I'm in a moving vehicle, and I suddenly get the urge to throw my phone out the window, it also happens when I'm crossing a bridge and the sudden need to throw something or myself is kinda worrying actually.
I've also acted on it during a road trip, and I put my head out the window and just screamed... was indeed having the time of my life >:)
So for your afton'd and not fine aus meeting, I can't get over the image of the y/ns meeting. The not fine one having too little braincells to understand how dangerous the other could be. The afton'd seeing the other yn is good and friendly with the animatronics and like "you're good. You shall not suffer my wrath". The not fine after just like "They seemed like a nice person!" And their sun/moon just secretly like "...no."
i actually wanted to make a short comic or smthn about this scenario! With the premise being, Reader is dense and not very good at social cues, but they know themselves and their habits and they know the kinds of impulsive thoughts that have plagued them in the past- and Afton Reader is just Reader pushed to the edge, who saw the precipice that kept them from their violent, bitter impulses, and decided to jump.
Meeting Afton'd Reader would be kind of like looking into a mirror and seeing the worst version of yourself staring back at you. You don't know exactly what they've done, but you know that Something Isn't Right with them. And what are you supposed to say when a you straight from a nightmare has stepped through the glass and smiled at you, like you are an old friend?
