hello! for future reference, what do you think about people sending you vaguely salty asks that are sort of discourse-adjacent? i don’t .. think any of my opinions are even that bad or bashing and I do try to be fair but I am definitely a little frustrated (at fan behavior specifically) and if you don’t want people to dumb in your inbox I totally understand

Hi anon! I don't mind, but I may not answer if I'm not up for it or I don't think I've got anything useful to say in response. I may also not notice that it's supposed to be discourse adjacent salt, depending on what it's referencing- I'm pretty out of touch right now. I genuinely am not actually sure what is currently happening in the fandom. If it starts to bother me I'll let you know!

#the state of my inbox is dire! I feel like the last idk eight months have just been my brain slowly shutting down #and discourse in this fandom is always kind of like- is someone mad that Xue Yang does murders or has something really shitty happened #in the fandom or is Twitter incomprehensibly vauging about top bottom wank in 2021 #I'm still mad I wasted seconds of my life absorbing that I request no top-bottom wank #but anyway if you send me an ask and I didn't answer most likely #I looked at it and thought wow I should answer that #started to answer it #left it in my drafts #wandered away #and now answering it feels weird #I did the thing I just mentioned but am going to persevere through the awkwardness once I have a minute #or #tumblr ate it #sometimes I do stare at an ask and think that there is no way for me to answer it in a way that will be a net positive for anyone reading #my blog #but in those cases it's basically always an assessment of my own ability to respond not like #what a terrible ask #some of you in fact sent me asks that were so good I really wanted to make sure I gave you a thoughtful response #and I just didn't have the time or the brain
