“I would not have eaten the apple. I have self-control and don’t even like apples.”
Bold of you to assume that the forbidden fruit would just simply be an apple. If it were an apple, it would be the most perfect apple you had ever seen. Its unblemished skin stretched thin and swollen around the juicy flesh it was meant to contain.
Perhaps the forbidden fruit is simply the one perfect thing you wanted when you looked upon it. It was designed for you, and this couldn’t be a horrid trick because why would someone leave the object of you affection and desire just for it to all go so horribly wrong.
Perhaps it’s not actually an apple at all, but the singular person that is designed to love you in the imperfect way that only true love can provide.
Perhaps it was shaped like a Starmaker you fell in love with long ago, whose eyes beheld the beauty of the universe’s birth but all you could fathom was the devotion the Starmaker held within. And yes, your Starmaker is different, a bit more angular and dark. But it’s still them, still beautiful in a rougher way, still the Starmaker.
So go ahead, take a bite, steal a glance or maybe even a kiss if you dare. And don’t hate those before you who weren’t unable to resist. But rather, shouldn’t you stop to question who would present you with the one thing you couldn’t say no to? And that they would expect you to say no anyway?

The Master’s tendency to actually do the jobs that he’s using as cover is sending me. He’s on Earth so much anyway, you know he’s sometimes just had jobs to buy groceries or make a paper trail or feed his online shopping addiction or whatever. Ninety percent chance he’s said the phrase, “Hello, you’ve reached technical support, my name is,” *clicks randomiser* “Steven, how may I help you today?” Firmly believes that the Doctor only thinks the best of humanity because they’ve never worked in customer service.
