I’ve been retooling my headcanons for Oropher, and I’ve settled on making him Nimloth’s cousin on their mothers side (the mothers are twins).

His mothers a marchwarden and his father died in the First Battle when he was still young, and as such he spent most of his childhood with Galathil and his aunt. I’m thinking he was about 14~ equivalent when Nimloth is born? (On the exact night that the moon rises for the first time)

She is, naturally, basically his sister.

I’ve been playing with Celeborn not being too much older (but probably at least 80 years?) than Oropher and stupidly jealous that his big brother now hangs out with this random weird kid. This is where their antagonism starts and it never gets more mature, lol

His wife meanwhile… I’ve been considering that she comes from Nam Elmoth. She and her family leave around the time Noldor make it that far East, retreating behind the Girdle seeking safety. She’s still Astiel, as she’s always been in my mind, but with the more rural and spooky upbringing I’m endeavoring to make her as close to a witch as possible with her still not being a witch. This version comes to architecture later in life though; I bet her and Idril are friends

Trying to figure out if I still want Thran to have been born FA and what implications that has for his olde brother’s existence, hm…
