lost & found // Diluc x Reader (2/3)
Word Count: ~5.0k
Notes: GN!Reader, Seelie!Reader, Diluc/Reader, includes more Mondstadt people interaction such as Klee, Albedo, and Kaeya, see why I had to split it into 3 parts now
Summary: Despite being a seelie, you and Diluc are inseparable. You aren't sure what you are or why you are here, but you know for certain you want to be wherever Diluc is through every adventure and misadventure. (And throughout it all, you get closer and closer to him.)
Alternatively: The two of you lose and find each other over and over again.
[Part 1] [Part 3]
.
.
You are satisfied with your life as a seelie, being Diluc’s partner in vigilante justice as the Darknight Hero (though when he goes out as the Darknight Hero, you’re usually hiding underneath his coat, all cozied up) and being able to spend your days by his side. Most days you are content without the answers to the questions of your origins or why you are different because Diluc accepts you for what you are regardless, as his radar for trouble and as his trusted companion.
It is only on the days where Diluc does not speak to you, burdened by the emotions of his past, withdrawing into himself at the familiarity of solitude, that you wish you are not what you are. There is very little you can offer in terms of comfort when compared to the warm arms and reassuring kisses of another person, but you make do with what you have.
You nuzzle into the crook of his neck in a semblance of a hug, and, though it takes a few tries to have Diluc understand what you were doing, your light touches to his forehead are the kisses you bestow upon him whenever his spirits are low.
“...Thank you,” he says to you when you lightly brush onto his temple, smiling when you twirl in the air, happy to have him receive your affections with full translation. He chuckles. “Would you like me to do the same for you?”
The squeaks of surprised embarrassment that follows make him laugh, and you imagine if you could speak, you wouldn’t be able to say anything of coherence with how equally flustered and pleased you feel. You don’t want to conflate any of his gestures, but you think that Diluc’s ability to tease you is a testament to how close you have gotten, even though his remarks make you feel giddy.
(If anyone else were in the vicinity they would think to themselves how rare that they see Master Diluc laughing so easily, though this is a thought that would not have crossed your mind considering this is a Diluc you have always seen. He is more youthful, less burdened, when he is near you. Is it because you are a seelie or is it because he is not bound by expectations when you have only known him for who he is?)
His ability to understand you and his unwavering trust in you despite your inability to do many things is something that you cherish. As such, you find ways to help Diluc wherever you can: temporarily swallowing small items to bring to him, being a literal light in the dark, and caring for his well-being wherever you can. The next time Kaeya drops by the tavern, stating something about treasure hoarders, a big expedition, and something about Dragonspine, he drops off a young girl about eight years old who introduces herself as Klee, and you find yourself in a new position as a babysitter.
And you are happy to glow, squeak, and fly in different shapes to make Klee laugh. You would be lying to yourself if her laughter didn’t make you happy, but it’s in addition to the fact that Diluc can finally rely on you. The grateful glances he keeps giving you over the shoulder when he caters to the tavern guests is invigorating. And if the tavern weren’t so well-lit, Klee would be able to see how you glow brighter in response to your emotions.
As perfect as Diluc may be (no, you are not biased), you find that you are surprisingly better at handling Klee. It’s not as though Diluc is completely helpless-- he responds to Klee’s questions just fine, speaking to her more as though she were an adult than a kid. You think Klee likes it for how she eagerly nods despite not understanding what Diluc is saying. It's just, for once, you may have an advantage because you are a seelie, and Klee absolutely adores you simply for existing. It’s a lot easier to entertain and play with her as a glowing ball of light than as a tavern-keeper, but you consider this a win anyways because you can finally help Diluc in a way that matters, considering the look of relief he shoots you when you’re able to distract her.
Your role as a babysitter goes well… until it doesn’t.
"It was nice playing with you, little seelie!" Klee chimes cheerfully. You coo at her, right up till the point she says, "Let's play another time, okay?"
Where are you going? You squeak, flying in front of Klee as she packs up her things. You nervously look at Diluc, hoping he can see you with how you flash your light like a siren, but his back is turned.
Klee only giggles. "Do you want to come with me too? Let's go!" She says, bounding out the door with terrifying timing when everyone's too distracted to stop her. You watch with growing horror as she runs with arms outstretched into the streets of Mondstadt, and you only have a split second to decide to follow after her before losing her completely. (In retrospect, perhaps it would have been better to tell Diluc, considering how little you could do as a seelie, but you forget that at times, especially in moments like these.)
You follow Klee, glancing around nervously for any roaming hilichurl or abyss mage. Miraculously, the two of you don't run into any enemies, though you did urge her to go around the path when you spot a few of them walking toward you. This is out of my pay grade, you think warily, and if you had a heart still, it would be beating rapidly with the self-contained panic every time you narrowly miss a confrontation with an unsavory crowd.
When Klee leads you into Dragonspine, which you now know to be a snowy terrain whose chill is cold enough to make you shiver, you want to cry. Where are you going? You want to ask, Why are we here? You watch as Klee picks a random direction to go in, and you can only follow her, twirling around sources of heat at every opportunity so that she knows where she can stay warm.
Having Diluc here would be nice, you think, as you float next to the orange seelie that radiates warmth much like a campfire. The fires Diluc would light easily if he were here, the warmth he would exude for how hot pyro users run... You think warily that you're going to make him worry again, having disappeared with Klee, but for some reason, you feel reassured that he'll find you again eventually.
It is many minutes traveling in Dragonspine when Klee puts a finger to her lip and asks you, "Do you think you can find my big brother?"
Here you are, following Klee this entire time, only to find out you are both lost. Next time, you think to yourself, as Klee describes her big brother Albedo and you quietly listen, no matter how Diluc looks at you, you don't think you can ever accept being a babysitter ever again.
(When you're attacked by hilichurls, you think of distracting them as Klee runs to safety, but then she throws literal explosives at them to defeat them soundly and you think that at least there is one less thing to worry about.)
.
.
.
You let your instinct take the lead this time, as something within you pulls in a certain direction. Asides from the basic investigative skills (footsteps here, disturbed bush there), it is a miracle that you lead Klee to the encampment that Albedo had set up for his experiments in Dragonspine. It's not as though the path was particularly hard to traverse, but it did take some backtracking and maneuvering around Fatui camps (will Diluc end up fighting them looking for you, you wonder). You breathe a sigh of relief when you see Klee leap up to hug the blond, doe-eyed alchemist whose eyes widen at her arrival.
“Kl-Klee? How did you get here?” Albedo stammers, looking over her before landing on you. You simply twirl in the air in greeting, and the alchemist can only blink. (You never realize this, but this is one of the very rare moments Albedo is ever flustered-- courtesy of Klee.)
Klee goes on a long monologue about you as well as the adventure to get here, Albedo nodding in understanding ever so often, when you hear the crunch of snow behind you. Your mood lifts along with your body as you recognize the familiar tuft of red hair against the whitest of snow.
“There you are,” Diluc says, setting down his broadsword. He sounds out-of-breath, most likely weary from the fact the two of you disappeared and from the climb to get to Dragonspine. You glow immediately from his evident relief, and you race to him, nuzzling into his neck in an affectionate hug to which he immediately responds by brushing the back of his gloved hand onto you.
How did you find me again? You ask, easily sitting on the hand Diluc offers you.
“Kaeya told me that Albedo was in Dragonspine,” he explains. “Knowing Klee, this was the first place I thought to go to, and I know you wouldn’t let yourself split off from her.”
You nod sagely, though that line of thought would have made sense to anyone who generally knew Mondstadt geography. You look up at Diluc in confusion when he pets you.
“I would have found you anyway,” he says softly, “even if you weren’t together.” You feel yourself grow warm. “I’ll always find a way to find you.”
(Even in this snow? You wonder, even in this frigid wonderland? Through the driest of deserts and coldest of oceans? And you can imagine that if you had asked him this, he would have said ‘yes,’ though that was just what you hoped.)
You coo softly, flying up to gently press your face to his cheek in a gentle kiss, and the smile that Diluc gives you, you think, should be warm enough to melt even the snow on Dragonspine.
.
.
.
.
When the wind grows harsh in the changing of times, you find flowers of blue and white hidden amongst the fields of grass. And when Stormterror abandons his domain, you lead Diluc to a red, crystalline teardrop that neither of you can touch without protection. You thank the stars Diluc is not a man to shy away from danger, especially when it pertains to the safety of Mondstadt, because he follows you wherever you lead him-- finding teardrop after teardrop scattered across lands festered with monsters.
(“It’s a well-kept secret, despite the way he acts,” Diluc says, leaning on his propped-up arm by the fireplace. He huffs in laughter when you trill-- my lips are sealed!-- and the two of you would watch the embers slowly die out. )
It has become more and more evident as time goes on that you are more than you appear. Your small size and dedication to following Diluc are already indicative of your unique nature as a seelie. What makes you particularly distinct is your penchant to find things or people that many would consider strange. Even before you found these objects, being able to find the elusive Venti would be indicative enough. You don't know what was so strange of him besides his eternally youthful appearance and talent of disappearing into the wind (you thought that was just what people could do, okay?) until Diluc tells you of his godly origins one late night in the winery.
Your proclivity for the unique is something that does not go unnoticed by Albedo.
“I would greatly appreciate being able to tag along on your next journey. I’m very interested in seeing what you, as a seelie, can do,” Albedo tells you. When you meekly titter in Diluc’s direction, Albedo raises his hands reassuringly. “Ah. Don’t be nervous. It’s quite alright if you don’t lead us to anything. It’s all part of the process. Klee has told me much of what you can do, and I’m simply interested in learning more about you, as special as you are.”
Diluc looks to you, waiting for your response as you float in the air, pondering. You cock your head to the side, and he only shrugs, answering the nonverbal question you shoot at him.
“You’re the guide. It’s up to you,” he says, and that is all you need to look back at Albedo (who has been observing everything thus far with keen eyes) and bob yourself up and down in agreement.
“We can meet at Windrise in one week’s time,” Diluc says to Albedo.
Albedo nods, taking one last look at you before pushing himself off the tavern stool, ending the conversation until next week-- that is if Kaeya were not there.
“You aren’t planning to go on an adventure without me, are you?” He says, and Diluc can only sigh.
.
.
The week passes quickly and the four of you (Diluc reluctantly allowing Kaeya to accompany the three of you) meet up at the Statue of the Seven near Windrise. You prove yourself once again when you lead Diluc, Kaeya, and Albedo on an off-trail route to Daudapa Gorge. They all follow you, climbing up the cliffside, until you lead them to an unusual hilichurl of blue hair and a talisman on its mask. To keep with the consistency of your battle-filled wanderlust, the unusual hilichurl starts throwing items-- some of which you can recognize from your previous(?) life and some of which you’ve never even seen before. The barrage of things is incessant until fire, ice, and bursting flowers make him escape into his suitcase, leaving behind strange four-pointed stars that glimmer for a moment before disappearing, much to Albedo’s disappointment.
The silence that follows after the oddest encounter you have ever led Diluc to is deafening. You can’t even bear to turn your body to face Diluc who you know is looking at you with a (fondly) exasperated expression. “Trying to outdo yourself every week, aren’t you?” He asks, and if you could, you know that you would be blushing.
Kaeya makes it a point to make your embarrassment worse, as he often likes doing. (You know Kaeya shows his affection through teasing remarks, but oh, what you wouldn’t do to be able to retort back to him once without Diluc having to come to your rescue.) “Your mini seelie finds a lot of strange things, don’t they?” He says, giving you a cat-nipped smile when you bristle and squeak. “Maybe the seelie thinks you’re strange Diluc. Maybe that’s why it follows you around--”
“Shut up, Kaeya.”
“That’ll cost you, you know.”
You watch the two bicker back and forth in a manner that is now very familiar to you, not noticing the alchemist observing you in the background.
“I’d like to test something if that’s alright with you.” Albedo suddenly says to you. “Nothing painful,” he reassures you, even though you hadn’t said a word. “I’ll simply be asking you to do your best to find Master Diluc to test a theory of mine.”
Why Diluc? You wonder.
“Why me?” Diluc repeats your thoughts. “I didn’t realize we would still be under observation after this one journey.” You think Diluc sounds testy-- in a manner that is unlike whenever Kaeya drops by his tavern and more like when fire abyss mages show up on your path. You are alarmed, unsure why you feel the tension rise despite Albedo’s unbothered demeanor.
And while Diluc would never thank Kaeya for his quick wit and way with words, you definitely would, especially when he jumps into the conversation with an easy lilt to his voice to de-escalate the situation (for once). “A-ha, worried that your time with your precious companion is being encroached upon, Master Diluc?” He teases, “Or perhaps you’re afraid you’ll be separated from your precious seelie?”
“Kaeya--”
“Your relationship with your seelie is unique, just as your seelie and its abilities are unique,” Albedo interjects before Diluc could pull out his greatsword. “I’d like to qualitatively and quantitatively define them, if possible.”  He pauses, addressing you directly. “I thought this would prove fruitful for you as well if you were ever wondering what your... purpose is, as one might say.”
How rare it is to have an opportunity like this just fall into your metaphorical hands, you think. You are interested in knowing more about yourself. It wouldn’t change much about how you want to stay with Diluc, but there is a sense of peace knowing what you can and cannot do. In Albedo, you see a man of science through-and-through (even though he evidently defies the laws of transmutation you learned from a certain anime). He sees things for what they are, always addressing you when he wants to talk to you, and recognizing that you can speak for yourself. In some ways, he is no different from Diluc, who has never demanded you to be more than what you are as his companion.
If you decide to do something, Diluc respects your decision-- which is why he only watches you quietly as you croon in agreement. You glance over at Diluc to wait for his consent as well, and he can only sigh. (You don’t know it, but he cannot say ‘no’ to you.)
“I have one condition.” When Albedo nods, Diluc continues, “We do nothing to put them in danger. Is that clear?”
“Crystal,” Albedo says immediately, and you almost miss what he says next, as distracted as you are by how Diluc comes closer to you almost protectively. “I’ll converse with you to let you know what you’ll be doing, but there should be no harm done to anyone during this experiment. How does the day after tomorrow sound?”
.
.
.
Diluc heads to Dragonspine without you, for what feels to be the first time in forever. Now that you think about it, has Diluc ever been separated from you the same way you have been separated from him? Even though you’re the seelie, he’s always the one finding you-- have you ever needed to find him?
You want to be able to find Diluc as flawlessly as Diluc can do for you. You want to know, and you especially want Diluc to know that you will always be able to return to him no matter what. Succeeding in this self-given trial of yours will provide definitive proof whether or not you can. With that thought in mind as you float up the slopes of Dragonspine, you think there’s a lot more at stake after all.
You titter nervously when you find Albedo in his camp, and when he spots you, he waves you over as he prepares for the journey with you. “I told your companion to get a headstart,” he says to you. “I won’t know where he’s gone either, so it’s a double-blind experiment. Feel free to use any way you see fit to find him and I’ll follow you.”
You nod dutifully, and when he does nothing else but follow your movement with his eyes, you realize that those were the only instructions you were given. Find Diluc, you think to yourself. Should you start to conjure an image of him in your mind to guide you? That was easy enough to do: half-lidded red eyes that soften when he sees you, red hair you’ve dazed off in more than once, black coat he’s used to shield you from the weather despite your immunity to it, and black boots that are worn to the heel when he follows you.
You are only a few steps away from the camp when you feel a growing panic, for no matter how much you think of Diluc, you don’t feel anything telling you where to go.
When you guide Diluc, even if it’s an impromptu journey, you feel a pull to go somewhere. You’ve once thought it to be your whims but after finding so many other things on purpose and having that same familiar pull, you know that it isn’t just your curiosity guiding you. You conjure up his image, you think of how much you want to find him, and still-- nothing.
How are you going to find him now?
You follow those footsteps, with not much else to go on, and you hope with all your might that perhaps these are the only signs you need to find him. When you reach a snowstorm, your heart falls, only to see that the heat source midst of the snowstorm has been activated. In a place with newly fallen snow and no fireplace, you see a tree with the snow shaken off from its lower branches, and that's when you realize that these are clues that Diluc has left for you.
You look frantically around, following the most likely path he would have taken out, and are met with crossroads. You're tempted to choose a random road and stick with it, but your random choices and the instincts you have been using this entire time are not the same. If you could, you would grunt in frustration, but it comes out as a high-pitched squeal instead (that Albedo takes note of just in case). How were you supposed to-- and then you see footsteps clear as day around the bend of rocks and realize it's Diluc’s.
Does he know, you wonder, that you do not know how to find him? Or did he leave these signs regardless just to make sure you do?
Diluc wants you to find him-- and you find it hard to explain why that means so much to you.
You follow the footsteps, the snow, the branches, and the flames with growing anticipation to see that bright tuft of hair amidst the whitest snow you've ever seen. You're led into an icy opening where heat sources have been activated, and it's hard to contain your excitement when you notice that all of them are activated. You're so close to him; you can feel it.
You rush to the center, hoping to see Diluc-- only to see a gaping chasm where the ice broke, and your heart freezes over.
"Ruin guards," Albedo murmurs, taking note the same time you do that there are various irreparable ruin guards within the hole. If Albedo says anything, if anyone else shows up afterward, you do not notice. The only thing in your mind was the worst-case scenario: Diluc might be hurt, and you didn't know how to find him.
You jet off into the chasm, flying from corner to corner to find him. Every time you see a gleam of red, you desperately hope it is him, but it's just shards of scarlet quartz Diluc must have broken to keep himself warm. Follow it, you think, follow the trail-- quickly!
The path leads to a waterfall where enemies are littered on the ground, including an ice lawachurl right in the river's path. Diluc, you think, following the line of arrows up the snowy hill. You fly up and up and up and as the footsteps fade and you grow colder, you think chillingly that if you were cold, then--
What would you do if he got hurt? What would you do if you could never find him ever again?
No! You think, no, no! Your barely contained composure breaks again with the rising panic. You zip forward, searching for the nearest heat source and praying (to Barbatos, perhaps, or any other god out there that Diluc has yet to tell you-- that he promised to tell you about) that Diluc is there. In the face of your great love for Diluc and the helplessness that comes with it, you have never felt so lost.
Overlooking a tree, you spot an orange seelie-- a heat seelie!-- and speed to it where it slowly looks in your direction. Can you please, you begin desperately, help me find someone? He must have come here before. Red hair, black clothes, big sword? You spot another looking your way and you ask it the same thing. You attract another and you repeat yourself again.
Please, you tell them, I need to find him.
Slowly but steadily, they all look in one direction, and you are off at once. (You forget to say thank-you; you're normally better than that, but you hope the seelies can forgive you just this once.) You fly as fast as you can, begging whoever is listening that the seelies did not mistake someone else for Diluc. And when you see Diluc at the campsite, you finally can breathe again.
Unharmed, his head in a towel to dry off his wet hair, Diluc is fine. You can barely believe what you’re seeing as you numbly float to him, checking him from head to toe for any injuries you can perceive. You don't feel as though you're doing that well of a job though, considering the only thing running through your head that he was safe and what would you have done if he wasn't--
Before you reach him Diluc turns his head to you like clockwork, as if he always knows when you are here. (There are those red eyes again, you think, and wonder if his affection for you will ever run out.)
“Ah, there you are,” he says, almost as frantically as you felt finding him. “I was about to go look for you since you weren't with Albedo." He gives you a smile when you slowly approach him. "I was worried," he says, "I--" He freezes in the middle of his sentence, eyes widening before slowly softening with every passing moment watching you. “Hey,” he says tenderly, raising his hands to cup you close to him. “It’s okay. I’m fine; I’m here.”
If Diluc ever doubted how much you cared for him, he does not have to look any further than the tears that drop down your translucent body, disappearing before they fall off of you. You don’t understand how you can cry, considering what you are (and the lack of tear ducts), but you do anyways, ears drooping as all your worries, concerns, and relief manifest into tears.
I’m so glad you’re okay! Your trills and squeaks are nothing more than hiccups in-between tears. I’m sorry I couldn’t find you earlier!
And Diluc does his best to wipe away the droplets that come from where your eyes would be as he continues to soothe you through them. “You found me,” he says, voice warm like the hands he holds you in. You don't have the strength in you to tell him otherwise when he repeats it to you again and makes you believe it. “You found me.”
.
.
.
.
You spend the next half-hour or so with Sucrose who calms you down a great amount. Her genuine eagerness for alchemy combined with her shy, nervous demeanor is something that endears her to you quickly, especially when she is trying her best to make you feel better by rambling about her latest experiments.
With the worry for Diluc gone, you feel reaffirmed in your relationship with him. You are sad and will be for a while, that you do not have the talent to find Diluc whenever you can, but you are reassured by your determination to do so despite it.
Getting lost and being found again-- it seems as though that’s the cycle the two of you have started together.
“I apologize for causing you distress.” You perk up from your position above the alchemy table when Albedo walks back to you after a brief conversation with Diluc over the bubbling mechanisms on the table.
“Dragonspine is still an unpredictable terrain and I had not taken into consideration that there would be problems using this area as our testing ground,” Albedo says with a twinge of regret. You can understand him well enough to know that he truly did not intend for the day to be so emotional, so you squeak in response and fly in a loop. He looks relieved when you do, and you think for a brief moment that perhaps he isn’t so hard to read after all.
“Though the procedure was… unexpected, I hope you learned more about yourself as I have.” He waits as you eagerly nod in agreement, and you see him briefly hesitate. “...There’s a type of loneliness in being different. I’m sure you know this very well,” he says quietly as you float. “If you wish to learn more about what you are, feel free to visit any time. I will be happy to help.” The smile he gives you is partly fond as it is lonely, and you can only fly up to gently bump your head against his in response. “Until next time then,” he says with a tone of finality. “Perhaps when your companion isn’t so protective over you.” (Which is unlikely, Albedo thinks, but not impossible.)
Until next time, you say, watching as Albedo walks away into the snowy terrain. You spot Diluc, hands crossed as always as he leans against the darkened bark in a manner that is so reminiscent of the first time you found him. You feel oddly nostalgic as he watches you intently. Then, you do a somersault, and, going full circle, he smiles at you.
“Let’s go home,” he says to you, and you follow him, just as you did in the very beginning when you found him.
(If there is anything that the two of you could conclude at the end of this, it is the confirmed knowledge that the two of you would go till the ends of Teyvat to find each other again.)

What if there was a Walt Disney Fighting Game? [Video Game Concept]
Note: I am well aware, that Disney would probably never say yes in a million years to this idea. Taking their beloved, child friendly characters and having them fight?!
OH THE HORROR?!
I am also aware there have been concepts for this in the past.
Final Fantasy Dissidia was supposed to be a Kingdom Hearts fighting game, but Nomura felt uncomfortable portraying Disney characters in such a violent atmosphere.
And there are sketches of what a Walt Disney fighting game could've been, inspired by Super Smash Bros, before it was canceled. It would've focused on more violent characters such as Gaston, Beast, Ursula, Captain Hook, Captain Silver and the Horned King. But the idea was dropped.
Here's the link.
This entire post is just building and putting together what a Disney fighting game would look like to me, if one came out in today's world. It's all merely speculation and ideas that's been in the back of my head for awhile.
(Special thanks to @mayflower-gal for helping me set this up. 😁)
Anyways, let's get started!
Part 1: The Plot
For the plot, I believe it would have to be something simple, since this an idea for a first game. It's the start of a potentially huge franchise, so I wanna keep it not only simple, but an aspect that helps kick off the potential series. And pull in many fans, old and new of Disney.
Let's take into account one thing: what's a recurring theme across various Disney movies (and overall media)?
Is it the lovable, comic relief sidekick that makes audiences laugh? Is it the songs that kids find themselves singing, long after the tale is done and the curtain has closed? Is it perhaps, the clever celebrity choices for important side characters?
No, It's the one defining aspect that draws in audiences, both new and old, bringing you to fall in love with the characters as the story is told:
Wishes.
Pinocchio wishes to be a real boy. Beast and all his servants wish to be human again. Tiana wishes to have her own restaurant. Ariel wishes to see the world beyond the sea.
Everyone wishes for something more in their life and have dreams that they wish come true.
What if all those wishes were counted? Collected?
Watched over. Much like a parent to their children. Or a teacher to their students.
Found engaging. Found entertaining. Found comforting. Found peaceful. Found introspective.
Looked at with childlike wonder and glee when accomplished.
But frowned on when those wish for selfish desires. And an even deeper disappointment at those very same inhuman desires, coming true.
Good and bad exists inside every person, it's just a matter of what one chooses to act on and stand by at the end of the day.
What someone wishes for is reflective of that.
Now imagine that same being coming to life and wrecking havoc across the Disney universe. Judging for themself, if any of these colorful, imaginative characters, truly deserve their...
Happily,
Ever
After.
Yep, the main plot of the story mode is all the various Disney characters literally fighting for wishes and dreams to come true...
against the LITERAL embodiment of wishing upon a star.
Each playable character having their own unique ending.
Some endings being repeats of your favorite Disney movies, with some minor changes to acknowledge the game's plot. While others are original due to the wide cast of characters that are available, besides your favorite Disney Heroes.
For example, you beat the story mode as say, Pinocchio, he wishes to be a real boy.
I know it sounds very redundant since a majority of these things already happen in the Disney movies, but I feel as though relieving them would be fun. In addition to some original ones that didn't happen with either the villains or less major characters.
It's only the hypothetical first game and I wanted start with something simple, that fans could easily get into. More complex plots, with more character interactions should be saved for any possible sequels.
Part 2: The Gameplay
The game would be your typical 2D fighting game. You have,
Combos exclusive to every character that requires practice.
Playstyles that make each character feel unique.
Special moves for each character to get the upper hand and the main focus in besting your opponent in 1 VS 1 matches.
Of course, there's dialogue before fights in the character intros. With so many to pick from, it had to be put in somewhere.
It resembles 2D fighting games that you've all no doubt heard of, such as Marvel VS Capcom or Street Fighter.
But what would a Disney fighting game have to offer on the table, in order to survive the overall video game market?
It would have to be something unique and a feature that not only gives it originality, but a chance to stand out with so much creativity and innovation. Practically begging fans for more.
Which is why I present to you: Disney Songs.
Or as this game prompt will call them: Musical Finales.
The highlight of many Disney movies and overall media, the music is what leaves a lasting impression on many audiences. Which is not surprising, since Disney is mostly a musical. At least in terms of most of their films.
With so many iconic songs from throughout the company's history, of course I'll be squeezing them somehow!
Each character has a music meter, that can only be filled up with how the player times and follows the beat of the character they play as. Follow the rhythm and beat of a character, and it will fill up quicker. Get cut off by the opponent and it doesn't fill up.
That beat being the music of the stage each player fights on, by attacking to the music and the same time. Think of it like the Sound Battles mechanic in Mother 3.
Every character has four different kinds of attacks: Neutral, Musical, Wonderful and Special.
Neutral Attacks are normal attacks that are mostly used to set up combos.
Musical Attacks are attacks that deal more impact, when timed with the music of the stage.
Wonderful Attacks can be seen as character oriented attacks, that embody the personality and charm of the character you play as. And can be used to entertain the audience. We'll get into that later.
Special Attacks are unique finisher moves that require a separate meter to be filled up, as with most fighting games.
Now what happens when the music meter is full? A Disney Song starts playing of course!
Say you filled up Cinderella's music meter for example, then "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" starts playing, granting some unique abilities for Cinderella.
Each song would grant different outcomes and bonuses for the various characters. They're not Special Attacks, as that's already a separate mechanic already.
For example, "Part of Your World" starts playing if you're playing as Ariel, filling up the stage with water and slowing down the opponent, giving Ariel a chance to either take advantage of that, bump items into them or create big waves of water.
But what happens if BOTH characters trigger the music meter at the same time?!
Well, that's where this gimmick becomes a fight for which song keeps on playing!
Both songs would start playing, both at the same time and volume. Except, both characters have to compete to see which is stronger.
This is done by the two characters fighting, before triggering a rhythm game between the two. Once one is the victor, the other song fades, while the other stays playing. Doubling the duration of that character's Musical Finale.
Another mechanic is the Entertainment Meter. Every level you fight on has one, that determines which fighter the audience likes more. Via Wonderful attacks, you can charm the audience into supporting you more. This activates things like getting healing items or stat boosts in power and speed. Some of your favorite Disney sidekicks even provide aid from the audience!
It's almost like watching a Disney movie live and being able to interact with the story!
Or the battle system in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
I feel as though this is the best way of keeping the game interesting, giving it an identity of its own and still embodying that magic people will grow to love. It can also lead to some entertaining interactions in the background or foreground of a stage, as the music meter also brings in characters that would not be playable, but support playable characters nonetheless. Like Flounder and Sebastian.
Of course, either feature could be turned off if you're not a fan of that sort of thing, but that's a given.

Part 4: The Roster
The bread and butter of many fighting games, the roster is no doubt one I had a bit of trouble putting together. With so many characters from over the years, it's no surprise. But since this is the outline of a possible first game, here's my interpretation.
Also, the cast is big to avoid being too barren or dull.
And because I had a lot of fun putting it all together.
Mickey Mouse (Mickey Mouse): The all around character of the game, he mostly fights by a series of cartoonish tricks, magic tricks and his paintbrush from Epic Mickey. His Special Attack would have him break the fourth wall like and rewind the fight like an old film projector in reverse. Except he heals, while the opponent receives twice the damage. His Musical Finale "Sorcerer's Apprentice" has him use Yensid's Sorcerer hat to its fullest and give his overall moveset more flashes to distract the opponent and slow them down.
Donald Duck (Donald Duck): Everyone's favorite, greedy mallard and the world's angriest duck. Donald would fight mainly with toon force, his fists, his bad luck and his anger. The more damage he takes, the angrier he gets. His Special Attack would have him don the Duck Avenger persona from his PK days and use a series of superhero gadgets to finish the opponent. His Musical Finale "The Three Caballeros" trades his anger for Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles showing up, making him happy. As they hurt the opponent, each time they hit Donald, to keep him happy.
Goofy (Goofy): Everyone's favorite Disney dad, Goofy joins the fight as not the brightest but with the biggest heart. He has toon force to aid him in some unconventional ways. His Special Attack would have him become Super Goof from his older days. His Musical Finale "Eye To Eye" would restore health everytime he dodges an attack, with a dancing flair to it.
Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves): The first Disney Princess, Snow White makes her debut and she's not alone. The Seven Dwarves direct most of her attacks, such as tossing rocks, mining tools as weapons and even just grabbing the opponent and tossing them. Snow White herself can sing and command woodland animals to tie up opponents or just fight to defend her. Her Special Attack would have the Dwarves try to roll a boulder, only for lightning to strike on the opponent and the boulder as extra damage. Her Musical Finale "Whistle While You Work" will call on a huge number of forest animals, as they tidy up the stage and Snow White, slowly replenishing her health and slowing down the opponent.
Pinocchio (Pinocchio): Don't lie in his presence, as that nose is not only for show. Pinocchio fights mostly by using his nose as a staff, the Blue Fairy bringing other toys to life to aid him and Jiminy Cricket distracting the opponent with music. Pinocchio's Special Attack would have him wish upon a star and turn himself into a real boy, as the opponent is turned into a puppet and loses damage as a result. Pinocchio's Musical Finale "I've Got No Strings" would cover the stage in thin lines used for puppets: if the opponent touches one, their frozen briefly. If a projectile attack hits, the same happens.
Cinderella (Cinderella): The bell of the ball and someone whom never gives up on kindness, Cinderella will use the dance moves she showed off at the ball for her moveset, having a dancing and musical feel to how she plays and flashy dances to win against the the opponent. With her Fairy Godmother using her magic to help her, such as flashes of light. Her Special Attack would have the clock strike midnight and she leaves behind her glass slipper: once the opponent touches it they get weighed down by a giant magic dress. Cinderella's Musical Finale "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" would have the Fairy Godmother cast a series of spells over the stage, as a new carriage pops up every time Cinderella pulls off a combo. The carriages run over the opponent and can even carry Cinderella to safety.
Peter Pan (Peter Pan): Leader of the Lost Boys and Captain Hook's second biggest pain in the butt, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are here. Peter Pan has a pocket knife with him and Tinker Bell's pixie dust for aerial attacks. His Special Attack would have him toss a bunch of gold on the opponent, as the rest of the Lost Boys tackles them and beats them up for the treasures. His Musical Finale "You Can Fly" would create a trail of pixie dust behind him, that randomly causes the opponent to either jump too high or too low.
Captain Hook (Peter Pan): Keep all 'ticks' and 'tocks' away from this pirate! Captain Hook has a wide array of hooks to switch between, a flintlock pistol and his sword to win the battle. His Special Attack would have him run away from the Tick-Tock the Crocodile, as said crocodile attacks the opponent instead of Hook. His Musical Finale "A Pirate's Life/Elegant Captain Hook" would call his ship the Jolly Rodger onto the stage, as the pirates on the ship occasionally throw knives at the opponent and shoot at them, everytime Hook is caught in a combo and can't escape.
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty): Aurora, sleeping beauty herself, is doing anything but sleep and her guardians are making sure of that! Her attacks has the Good Fairies use their magic in numerous ways, such as moving objects, animating objects and even petrification. Her Special Attack has Prince Philip show up with the Sword of Truth and the Shield of Virtue, to deal heavy damage on the opponent. Her Musical Finale "Once Upon A Dream" boosts her stats everytime she's hit.
Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty): The Mistress of all Evil, Maleficent uses a wide array of magic powers from cursed, throny vines, to her iconic green fires, she's one tough fighter from a distance. Her Musical Finale "Once Upon A Dream" would have her make the opponent more drowsy, each time they hit her, until falling asleep, unless they keep moving.
Robin Hood (Robin Hood): The sly fox of England and one talented theif, this fox focuses on disguises, archery, swordsmanship and woodsmanship to make his way. His Special Attack would have authorities show up to arrest him, as they rain down arrows on the opponent in the process. His Musical Finale "Running Through The Forest" would allow him to dodge all attacks, without needing to hit the controls or input buttons.
Basil of Baker Street (The Great Mouse Detective): World's greatest detective! At least in the mouse world that is. Basil would investigate the stage of the fight, much like a crime scene and even pick up clues that double as weapons, such as a propeller or a mouse trap. His Special Attack would have him investigate a crime scene that hurt the opponent, before pushing them aside as 'worthless' evidence. His Musical Finale "Let Me Be Good To You" would have him require no further evidence and counter each hit with a deduction on his opponent's crime and even stop them from performing combos. Doing damage in the process.
Professor Ratigan (The Great Mouse Detective): Never call him a rat. Ever. This crime boss of the miniature crime world be no stranger to fist fights and gleefully take a swing at your demise, whether it's his fists, cane or traps. If not him, then his minions are more than happy to drown some orphans! His Special Attack would have him call his pet cat, Felicia to devour the opponent. His Musical Finale "The World's Greatest Criminal Mind" would give him more durability to hits, more destruction to the stage and traps cover more range on the stage.
Ariel (The Little Mermaid): Princess of the Sea, everyone's favorite mermaid is ready to explore beyond the sea. Armed with her father's trident, some amazing swimming skills and various sea animals at her command, she's more than ready. As a bonus, if she's infront of a mirror that's on the stage, her reflection will be her true form.
Belle (Beauty and the Beast): My, quite an odd girl, reading books and getting on the field of battle?! Belle's entire moveset would revolve around books; not magic books, just books on the rest of the cast and fairytales overall. She would be able to switch between each of these books and use what she's learned from them. For Example, 'Romeo and Juliet' gives Belle immunity to stat changes and rose themed weapons that hurt the opponent, like throwing weapons. 'Aladdin' gives her a magic ring that can conjure up magic smoke, furniture on the foe and teleport her. 'Jack and the Beanstalk' plants vines that can raise her up or entangle the foe. There's more books at her disposal, but that's just the general idea. Her Special Attack has her father ride in on his invention, chopping up an entire forest until the opponent is covered and crushed by chopped up logs. Her Musical Finale "Tale As Old As Time" gives her the power to 'skip' a fairytale, turning each of her attacks into the endings from the books. For example, 'Aladdin' would trap the opponent in an oil lamp, leaving room for her to attack.
Beast (Beauty and the Beast): The poor and cruel prince, turned into a monster as evil as the one in his heart. Beast has his boost in strength from his beastly form and claws to defeat the opponent. The curse not only affected him: his servants are by his side. Lumiere can incinerate the opponent or plant fires on the ground, Cogsworth can distract them with timed clock sounds, Mrs. Potts can spill tea to slip up the opponent, Chip will knock over bookshelves and Wardrobe can block attacks. Gaston has his inconic blunderbass and his fists, along with a bow and quiver and a hunting knife to deal with an opponent, almost as if they were an animal he's hunting. His Special Attack would have an angry mob charge at the opponent and beat them up. His Musical Finale "Gaston" gives him a strength boost, everytime he pulls off a combo successfully.
Aladdin (Aladdin): Everyone's favorite street rat and theif, he's not alone on the field of battle as Abu and Genie are here to help him. Abu can cling to the opponent and hit them repeatedly, Magic Carpet can be used for aerial attacks, Aladdin has a sword that he 'borrowed' from a guard and Genie can shape-shift in a variety of ways to best the opponent. Aladdin's Special Attack would have Genie distract the opponent, as Aladdin steals something off them and uses it to beat them. Aladdin's Music Finale "Friend Like Me" would have Genie grant a wish, each time Aladdin gets a combo, such as a stat boosts and healing.

Occasionally tapping into the phenenomal, Cosmic power of his Genie form to do some real damage. And Iago is here as well... mostly to complain. His Special Attack would have him become an all powerful Genie and Iago wishing for ways to 'hurt' (not kill) the opponent. His Musical Finale "You're Only Second Rate" would boost all of his stats and attacks, except he can't KO the opponent until the Musical Finale is done.
Simba (The Lion King): King of the Pride Rock and son of Mufasa, the Lion King himself is more than prepared with his claws and iconic roar. His roar can even control the weather to strike lightning and cause windstorms. His Special Attack would have him call on the spirit of his father, Mufasa, as the two of them roar at the opponent. And that's that. A LOT longer than I thought it would be. Now your probably thinking, what about all the other Disney media? It's an idea for the first game, so other characters (Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Scrooge McDuck, Goliath, Kim Possible, etc.) would appear in a potential sequel.
Or DLC, since every game these days has it.
Thanks so much for reading all this and taking the time to do! I would love to hear some thoughts and feedback! I had a blast making all this and would like to see if you're interested in hearing more video game ideas.

Listing my favorite animes (because I’m jumping on the bandwagon)
❗️⚠️ *spoilers!! (Duh)* ❗️⚠️
5. Deadman Wonderland
Tumblr media
I was really really sad when I found out this anime got cancelled. The music was fantastic, the animation was really good, and the voice acting was incredible. Even the fucking dubbed version (I loved the voice they chose for Senji. God he was hilarious). I binged this show so fucking fast it wasn’t even funny. I loved watching the characters go through their own struggles and grow as people in the very small amount of episodes provided. There was a lot of development within the snippet that we actually saw, and I was thoroughly impressed with how well it was done. I wanted to scream or something when I found out there wouldn’t be a second season.
Sigh. Oh well. At least we got some of the manga’s masterpiece translated into a show, even if we were missing some fucking awesome characters.
4. Guilty Crown
Tumblr media
Ugh, don’t even get me started. This anime was beautiful and I got so invested so freaking quickly. I literally go back every few years to rewatch it because I get ship starved.
Shu and Inori’s story was so beautifully done; between Shu uncovering his courage and Inori’s journey of self-discovery, I was continuously awe-struck and filled with feelings—I mean, I had never felt such raw emotion while watching something and I was completely blown away by the affect it had on me. Anger, hatred, sadness, it was all there (even for the main character lmao) and it was one of the first times I had ever felt a ship so heavily that I literally cried at the end. It was one of the very first Animes I’d ever seen and was one of the reasons I got such a taste for them. Thanks for throwing me down that rabbit hole, GC.
3. Soul Eater
Tumblr media
This was literally the first Anime I’d ever seen, and my god I couldn’t have asked for a better starter. What I like about this one is that it’s style is so unique and different. It’s very punk and grunge, something I admired and appreciated in a genre that is normally the opposite (like Guilty Crown, for example). Also the fight scenes were badass, like holy shit just look at that gif ??? Freaking amazing.
I loved the way the show transitioned from light hearted to intense and adrenaline pumping so effortlessly. That can be said about a lot of shows, but this one went from *haha cute show* to *holy shit, like they’re actually gonna die ohmygod howaretheygoingtosurvivethis* so smoothly I was genuinely surprised. They made one of the main villains actually cool and each character had their own beautifully done arc. I loved and adored how the show solidified and expanded on the different friendships/relationships that were involved—specifically Soul and Maka’s (also, holy shit, Stein’s arc? Fucking prime, dude). There was a lot of growth in each and every friendship (CRONA!!!), and that really pushed the viewer to invest in the individual characters.
I am fucking delighted that this was my first anime, and (though the ending was a little anticlimactic) it remains one of my top favorites to this day. It set the bar pretty fucking high, and for that I am extremely greatful.
No one asked for Soul Eater: Not! It is the unspoken sin of the Soul Eater world (then again, it is called Soul Eater: Not!)
2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Tumblr media
If you have been following me for a while, then you are no stranger to my love of FMAB. Some of my most popular posts are about this anime, and for good reason.
Unfortunately, I was late to the party. I actually didn’t watch this until last year, but got invested really damn quick. I have a tendency to be extremely picky about the animes that I watch/like (which is why NONE of these shows are that recent), to the point that I will literally research them before I start watching (a bad habit, do not copy me). I have an incomparably hard time finishing a show when I start, because I get bored really quickly, but this was an exception. I started watching and I just... didn’t stop. I spent a straight week watching FMAB, gobbling it up during any small amount free time I could manage, and finished it before I even knew what happened. I wasn’t picky about it, I didn’t research it, I just dove right in and gosh, I was not disappointed.
The subtle romance that was alluded throughout the entire show was super cute, the devotion the brothers had for each other was to die for, and the struggles that each person went through was more than moving. I never once found myself bored while watching, and that’s saying a lot for my adhd ass. I was invested in each and every second of that damn anime and I was never, ever left underwhelmed. That probably had to do with the fact that every. Single. Character. Had a purpose. I’m not even kidding. Every single person contributed to the big fight at the end and that alone is fucking fantastic.
Not to mention ALL the women, every female character, was a badass bitch. None of them were reduced to sex appeal or romantic subplot, they all had real feelings, real arcs and real, unadulterated badassery that I thoroughly admired and appreciated. I could watch this anime over and over again every single month and I wouldn’t get bored. Between the emotional struggle, self discovery, and personal development of each character, I promise you will not see a lack of plot or meaning here. The more you watch, the more you discover and that is not a lie. There are so many layers to its story, which only makes me wish I had watched this sooner.
There is nothing I have to offer in the ways of criticism, and for that I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Hiromu Arakawa, for such an incredible piece of art. You deserve every bit of love that this manga/anime gets. You go girl.
1. Cowboy Bepop
Tumblr media
Holy shit holy shit holy shit this anime is so fucking good and it has been my favorite for so damn long. I have been watching anime for years, and while some of the shows in my list have moved around, this one has yet to be bumped down from the top (and I doubt it ever will). There’s a reason it became such a cult classic.
For starters, the animation. I mean, just look at Spike and the way they animate his fighting (yes I am aware that this gif is from the movie, but that still doesn’t change my point). The sequences in the show/film have been reused in many other shows and for good reason. It’s good, incredible, actually and they make him look so badass with just a few hand movements. I was consistently impressed with the way the fight scenes were portrayed and wasn’t ever left underwhelmed or disappointed (or, for that matter, feeling like they completely over exaggerated/overcompensated the scene with huge close-ups and tons of debris and lights). I loved watching this and my heart was always pounding with every intense interaction. I didn’t feel bored during any of the episodes and always found myself laughing when they cracked a joke—pretty much all of their funny lines hit and that’s saying something, dude.
Tumblr media
The show, while having a lighthearted surface, has a heavy meaning that you don’t see at first glance. It’s about dealing with grief and loss, and how the characters themselves accomplished that in different ways. The most prominent quote is the biggest indication of its moral “you’re gonna carry that weight”. Basically: ‘You’ve gotta pick up your baggage, because the world moves on, with or without you’. Or ‘You’re going to carry that weight whether you like it or not, because life keeps going’. When I figured out the show’s actual message, while staring at my ceiling in the long hours of the night, I almost cried. This realization brought something entirely different to the table, a new understanding of the show’s characters and overall essence.
The main characters, all of them, had depth. They had real, palpable depth, and even if you didn’t want to care you found yourself seriously interested in their lives. Each of them had relatively shitty pasts. Faye with her lost memories, Spike with Julia and the people who fucked him over, Jet with his old flame and the ISSP, Ed and her/his father... throughout the entire show we got to see how all of them dealt with these things, whether they wanted to continue on with life or not. The way they portrayed it was engaging, because the characters individual, contrasting journeys weren’t repetitive or one note. The beauty that the show holds so achinging close to its core, the layers of grief that the characters are wrapped in so delicately is almost suffocatingly real—because they’re all different. It’s something you discover when you think on the subject in a deeper light, which is another reason why I enjoy it so much. It has both a surface story and a deeper one. You can either take the show at face value or choose to understand the underlying moral.
This show inspired my very first, thoroughly fleshed out OC, and continues to inspire me to this day. It has contributed to my own personal growth, and has helped push me to continue my art and writing. It is beautifully written, beautifully executed and even though some of the episodes seem like filler, it has never disappointed me. I rewatch it all the time because there’s something so infinitely refreshing about the beauty of this anime, whether it be the way we watch the characters develop or the overall moral it portrays. This show has given us a message that is essentially timeless, it can be ‘carried’ through generation after generation, and still have the same impact—something I absolutely fucking adore.
I owe so much to this anime, including my very own artistic development. I discovered it during a really shitty time in my life and I couldn’t have asked for better timing. I will never tire of the bittersweet message or the thoroughly fucking fantastic animation. Everyone who contributed to this masterpiece deserves love, because it’s seriously fucking gold.

Sonic movie 2 - A few ideas
Tumblr media
Hi, after watching the movie two times, I’ve come up with some ideas for Sequel! This time using the info from the actual movie and following from the end.
I’m going to be spoilerific here, so I'll include my ideas after the “Read more” tag and tag this post as spoilers ;-) If you are interested, you can read my previous version too :-)
Sorry, for the tag, but I really like you guys & girls & LBGT+ <3
@movie-robotnik-positivity @movie-sonic-positivity @dxrkblaze @aawesomepenguin @welcome-to-green-hills @sonicpositive
I’m aware, this isn’t good movie-script XD I think it may be too long, but I had to get this idea out <3 And it was fun to do <3
We see Sonic interact with GH’s residents like Carl or Wade. Perhaps stopping by Olive Garden to get a free bowl of spaghetti since everybody loves him. We get to see Tom on duty, and Sonic helps him (by making sure the Duck-Mom and her kids cross the street).
After the day job, they go home to eat dinner. Maddie greats them with Chilli Dogs Sonic loves so much. They are about to go eat when Ozzy bolts outside, barking. Before they can react, Tails runs into the house with Ozzy behind him.
Tail: “No, I taste bad! I swear!” (Tails ends up on the floor with Ozzy licking him)
Tom and Maddie watch in confused amusement, but Sonic trembles and yells, “No! I’m not going back!” and dashes into his room.
Tom gets Ozzy off Tails and asks for answers. Maddie watches a few steps away and gets to hold Ozzy.
Tumblr media
Tails introduce himself as Miles Prower and asks them about Sonic, and that Longclaw had sent him to find Blue Blur. Tom is suspicious given how Sonic reacted, but he and Maddie heard about Longclaw. Tom goes to Sonic’s room to talk with him and finds him curled up among balls.
Sonic ends up embarrassed and unwilling to talk, but starts talking more about his childhood trauma, and how Tails is from his home planet. He is scared Tails will take him home. Tom mentions Longclaw, and Sonic darts down.
Sonic: “Where is Longclaw? Where is she?!” he shouts while shaking with Tails. Soon, Sonic remembers his position and retreats behind Maddie like a kid. Tom joins them, and Tails, after being less dizzy, explains to them about Longclaw.
She ...
a) had raised Tails
b) was found by Tails
c) found Tails
(In either way, they turn into friends.)
Tails: “The Echidna Clan is plotting something. We’ve seen so many of them scouting the area.”
Sonic is frowning.
Tails: “You have to return with me.” Tails comes closer, and Sonic hides behind Maddie more.
Maddie: “Okay, how about this. It’s quite late, and this is all so sudden. We need time to think about this, right?”
Tumblr media
While Tails is a bit disappointed, he agrees. Sonic is glad he doesn’t need to do the decision.
a) They go to eat and are attacked by Echidnas, much like Sonic was attacked as a child. This paralyzes Sonic, who curls up and hides while the rest is powerless against the warriors. Tom gets a big punch, knocking him on the floor. Tails is also overpowered. Maddie hits one with a plate, breaking it. This Echidna punches her in the belly, knocking her unconscious. In the fray, enters Carl with his chainsaw. Echidnas’ Leader, Knuckles, calls for retreat and grabs Maddie, taking her with his fellow warriors through the portal.
b) They sit down while Maddie goes to the kitchen to get the Chilli Dogs. While there, she sees from the window a new portal and walking Echdidna, Knuckles. Thinking he is Tails’ friend (and not recognizing Echidna due to Sonic never describing them too well), she goes out inviting him inside. He knocks her down, and Ozzy starts barking. Tom follows his dog and sees how Knuckles is abducting her in panic (Knuckles was supposed to get Sonic undetected). Sonic could save her, but he is too scared to move.
Either way, Sonic, this time, tells more about his past and the attack. Tails explains those are the Echidnas, he was talking about. Tom can’t let his wife be in danger, so he wants to go to the other side of the ring (Insert Alice in Wonderland and/or Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass pun/Easter Egg).
Sonic is happy he won’t be alone and is ready to go (but he is still scared). Tom reminds him how he had beaten Dr. Robotnik, and that some mole can’t be a problem (Buckles the Mole from Ponic the Hedgehog fan comic). However, Tails first takes them to his island where Longclaw is.
(In the case of a)) Tom tells Carl to take care of their house and thank him. Also, in both cases, he calls Wade to tell him to take care of this town, and that he counts on him to keep it safe. Wade is almost tearing.
-------
Tumblr media
Sonic’s world
Tail’s workshop is located on Mystic Ruins (from SA1), which is on a different island. Sonic is nervous to see his first mom. However, Longclaw is happy to see him, and she never blamed him for the first attack. After a bit of introduction, and Tom checking the place, they hear the story.
Echidnas are restless, and Longclaw is worried. They had attacked other islands, claiming them for themselves. They are using weird machines.
Tom: “Machines? ... Like Eggs?”
Longclaw: “Yes.”
Tom/Sonic: “No good.”
(We may get some old-time Badniks :-D)
(Also, Longclaw may be dead for some time, and Tails searched for Sonic to also fulfill her last wish to see if he was okay. So, I'm not including her in the rest of the story ;-))
------
Tumblr media
With Maddie
We go to the Echidnas’ main island - the one where Sonic was raised by Longclaw. Knuckles is in front of their Tribe Leader (From SA1, but his name is too long XD, let’s call him TR). TR is disappointed in Knuckles, who failed to bring in Sonic, and thus he won’t get a tribal mask (it means he is a full-blood warrior). He is reminded of how great his father was, and he is sent to guard Maddie in the prison set in a cave/stone-wall.
Dr. Robonik appears and has some of his usual crazy talks, not minding Maddie. Since he knows, they will come for her.
Maddie wakes up, getting up, but the cell is not enough tall, so she sits.
Maddie: “Where am I? Who are you?”
Knuckles ignores her.
Maddie keeps talking, annoying the Echidna.
Knuckles: “Keep it quiet, female!” he shouts.
Maddie is annoyed but keeps her cool. “Or what, Mole?”
Knuckles get really annoyed. “I’m not a mole!”
Maddie: “Then who are you?” -she lists some animals, getting wrong ones-
Knuckles: “I’m an Echidna!”
Maddie: “Oh.”
Maddie keeps talking, trying to understand her situation, and Knuckles ends up telling a bit more (he can slip a few things, as he is a bit naive and inexperienced). He mentions the Doctor.
Tumblr media
Maddie: “Dr. Robotnik?”
Knuckles: “Ro-but-nik?”
Maddie describes him, and Knuckles nods. The warrior quickly gets angry once more, as he isn’t supposed to talk with her. She proceeds to convince him, how cruel and selfish this person is, and that he is only using them.
Knuckles can’t help but agrees with her, as he finds the doctor weird, but he can’t go against his tribe. Maddie then asks him for at least something to eat, and the kind Echidna listens.
She uses her pin to lockpick her prison, which works to her surprise.
Maddie: And they say action movies aren't educational.
She quickly runs away with Knuckles returning a few seconds later.
Knuckles: “I don’t know what you...” He looks around with big eyes unable to grasp the situation before yelling, “Oh crab!” He lets go of the plate, finding her footprints easily and following her.
He catches up to her quickly and jumps at her. However, he has no idea, she is Pretzel Lady, In the air, she grabs his wrist and throws him away. But that proves to be a bad idea, as Knuckles ends up over the edge, grabbing the edge and hanging down above deep pit.
Maddie is terrified and rushes to pull the Echidna up. No matter what, she can’t let somebody die because of her, and it wasn’t her intention. She tries to pull him up, but the ground under her stops being solid.
-----
Tumblr media
Back to Tails.
Now everybody (I won’t count Longclaw here in case she really died) is on board of Tornado, heading for the Sonic’s Island. Tom is a bit squeezed inside, but doing fine, making a few planes jokes/puns to break the tension.
As they near the island, they are attacked by robots, recognizing Dr. Robotnik’s design (or not XD). In any case, they go for a crash landing and soon are found by Echidnas.
Sonic manages to beat them, overcoming his trauma bit by bit. Then he follows the last robot who leads him into a jungle. Tom and Tails have no chance to follow him but still do so.
Tom asks about the ground being blocky, and Tails doesn’t get why it is weird.
-----
To Sonic
He finds Dr. Robotnik and has a quick talk with him, repeating Tom’s Fun-gi joke, mentioning also his new haircut. Dr. Robotnik is furious. Echidnas attack from the bushes but can’t capture him. Dr. Robotnik then makes a holograph, showing Maddie inside the cell on the floor.
That stops Sonic, and he lets them tie him. He is then taken to the tribe.
----
Tumblr media
To Maddie
They are falling, and Maddie, out of instinct, holds Knuckles, protecting him with her own body, but they soon stop descending way too fast. She realizes they are floating, and Knuckles gets her to land safely. He is huffing on the ground, mentioning he hates heights. Before they can talk more, the ground under then vanishes, sending them into the underground complex.
There, Knuckles tries to climb back, but that proves to be risky, causing a small cave in. Maddie suggests they should find another way out and pulls out her phone (let’s say she put it in her pocket before getting kidnapped ;-)), using a flashlight.
Knuckles is spooked a bit first since they don’t have the technology, and so they are in awe in front of Dr. Robotnik, who presents himself as a superior being.
They talk a bit, and Knuckles asks why she tried to save him.
Maddie: “I just... can’t let somebody die in front of me. and I reacted without thinking.”
Knuckles is impressed since he never thought an enemy would help him. As they walk through the maze, they find old pictures left by even older Echidnas (or Bird/Owl’s people), and Knuckles figures out the story about Chaos Emeralds, who are a big legend passed down in his tribe. (At this time they can learn each other’s names)
---
Tumblr media
Back to Sonic and Dr. Robotnik
Dr. Robotnik talks about his plans, mocking Sonic, getting a lot of quills from him to power his better machines. Sonic is afraid Maddie would be in danger as Dr. Robotnik said she has a collar that would explode, and that she is hidden in a place he can’t find (but they know she is gone).
So, Sonic plays it safe as he has metallic rings around his wrists and ankles. The robots fly away, following instructions. The TL speaks too, ordering Sonic to listen to his every command. Sonic is cracking jokes as always, but he is getting nervous.
Soon, Tails and Tom make an entrance being captured. Dr. Robotnik is overjoyed, and Tom praises Dr. Robotnik’s new hair cut.
Tom: “Getting ready for a date?”
Dr. Robotnik has some snarky remarks when outside turns into hell, the robots attacking Echidnas.
Robotnik explains he has no use for them and goes away with his robots protecting him. Sonic tries to go after him, but once he moves too fast, the rings turn him into a ball, and he is unable to move.
Echidnas are trying to fight or help the injured. Tom assists them, yelling “Let’s save our problem for later!” Tails tries to do something with those rings, but Robotnik is long gone. Once the fight is over, they take time to talk.
Tails managed to take those rings off, and they are told Maddie is gone, running away from them. Sonic is scared, as this place isn't that safe for non-super-speed-hedgehogs. TL promises help in searching for Maddie. And Tails takes down the cuffs on Sonic’s limbs.
----
Tumblr media
Back to Maddie
Inside of the maze, they discover altar with a dusty gem floating above it. Knuckles is amazed, lost with words. They take a bit of the dust away, but Robotnik’s robots find them. Knuckles tries to protect Maddie but is hit. She pulls him to safety, and the robots take Master Emerald away.
Maddie gives a piggy-pack ride to (very embarrassed) Knuckles, following the robots to her best ability, finding the way out. Outside they witness Dr. Robotnik taking the gem further, but they have no chance to stop him.
She continues until they meet with the rest. After a quick briefing, they are all up-to-date, and Echidnas are willing to help them as that Gem is their lost treasure. Tails is analyzing the power-waves from the ME when the land shakes, revealing a huge water monster.
(Dr. Robotnik is in some hoover machine with the ME under it.)
Dr. Robotnik is controlling Perfect Chaos as this monster was trapped and is bound to the ME. From its body emerges a “bubble”, covering the island. Everything inside of it “freezes”. Tails opens a portal, and they head that way.
Maddie throws Knuckles to Tom, getting trapped in the bubble as her leg got stuck. They get away, but they are crushed by her loss. Tails tells them his machine had told him those trapped are still alive. So, they have a chance.
Sonic: “But how do we beat that monster?”
Knuckles proceeds to tell them about the other legend of smaller emeralds, that were scattered across 7 planets to keep them away from evil hands, and the ME was hidden on this very island.
The race to find those ChE starts, as only they can measure to ME. They visit the Mushroom Planet first, as Tails finds the signal.
This way the visit other planets from Sonic’s old map.
(I think this part can be speed-up a bit as we may not have enough time to fully visit all the worlds, but some hints of what has to come a.k.a Shadow or Silver are to be placed here.)
Once they have them, they return (using a plane) to find many islands were frozen. Sonic sees the monster and rushes to fight it. Knuckles is tasked to work with ChE to make a miracle or use their power. He tries, chanting the good old verses from SA1, but nothing is happening.
Tumblr media
Sonic meanwhile can’t keep up with Chaos, getting hit a lot, but P Chaos still can’t “freeze him”.
Sonic: “I’m a hot stuff/shot, Bubble Head!”
Sonic gets stuck inside of Chaos' body, and only his electricity is slowing down the freezing process. Dr. Robotnik gloats, dancing. Knuckles joins the fight, punching a chunk of the water out of Chaos’ body. Dr. Robotnik is surprised and yells/recreates the Skyscraper scene (I wasn't expecting that...).
Knuckles gets Sonic out of the water and gets himself stuck. Sonic is sad and angry, racing to get to Dr. Robotnik. Chaos prevents him from doing so. Tails gets closer and loses the ChE as he has to make quick dodging. The ChE falls toward Sonic, who wishes to be stronger to protect his friends, and the ChE reacts, turning him gold.
With this power, he makes a quick job of P Chaos, who is reduced to Chaos 0. Dr. Robotnik loses ME, which shatters. Dr. Robotnik then makes his escape as Sonic loses his Super Form.
They together get Knuckles, who is floating in the water and heads to the island. There they found everybody still frozen. They are losing hope when Chaos 0 appears and sucks the bubble back, returning everybody back. He is no longer aggressive as he was fried from Dr. Robotnik’s control.
Chaos 0 also gatherers the shards and makes ME whole again. The ChE are scattered once more, but only around this world. Everybody is happy and Tikal (yes, he is alive here) recognizes Chaos as an old Chao her grandma told her about (it was a story passed from many generations ago). This Chaos is old guardian who got locked inside of the ME to protect it.
Echidnas promises to keep peace and protect this place instead of ruling it since Sonic was the one who saved them. After a bit, they are ready to return home, but Knuckles bows in front of Maddie, and says, “I can’t return to my tribe until I fulfill my duty. Lady Maddie, you had saved my life more than once. Allow me to be your Guardian to repay my debt.”
She is reluctant, but she agrees, amused. So, they return and Wachowski’s house gains new inhabitants - Tails and Knuckles.
-------------
Oooof, this was so long XD But I hope this was better than my last draft. I think this one is less polished, as I had mostly idea for Maddie+Knuckles scenes and made Chaos’ one at the spot. I was also reluctant to have somebody die on the screen, so no death :-)
Hope you enjoyed :-)
PS. Sorry for the mistakes ^_^;

This Christmas || Samcedes
Who: Sam & Mercedes Evans, family and friends.  When: 3 Years Later Where: Samcedes’ Household What: A look into the future as Samcedes host a Christmas gathering for their friends and family.
Mercedes: “Red or green?” Mercedes asked her daughter as she held up two different bows from her dresser. The preteen studied carefully as she pretended to be in deep thought. “Green,” she answered with a doubtful smile. “Red,” she came again looking more satisfied with her answer. “How about we do both?” Mercedes settled as she made her way to the bed where both her children sat. “She likes when o do pigtails anyway so might as well stick to what works.” She handed the red bow to Sammie who went to work helping her perfect her little sister’s hair. “Are you excited to see everyone?” She asked making small talk. “Yes! Grandpa said he something really special for me. I think it’s a car.” Mercedes side eyed her daughter with a shake of her head. “You are 12, I can guarantee you it isn’t a car.” She smiled at the pout of her child’s lips as she continued to twist Grace’s hair. “Fine, then I’ll settle for nothing less than Beyonce tickets. Floor seats.” “Negotiate a ticket for your mom and I’ll throw in dinner at your favorite restaurant.” Mercedes added. She was definitely her child. They made quick work and Mercedes asked Sammie if she would take her sister downstairs and she would join shortly. She did her makeup not really caring to look extra spiffy. She was tired and her feet were too swollen for her to worry about looking cute. After being satisfied with her attire she finally made her way down the stairs spotting Sam laughing it up with Quinn. She smiled at the sight in front her knowing Sam had to be doing one of his many impressions by the look on Quinn’s face. “Any chance he’s coming tonight?” A voice met her as she made it to the bottom. “God I hope so. I’m so ready for him to be out. Grace came early three weeks at that. Sammie was five days early but this one doesn’t want to seem to leave.” She hugged Finn who helped her down the last two steps. “Well I’ll be 50 dollars richer if he does. So maybe put in a good word for me?” She laughed at his reply. “I make no promises but I’ll see what I can do.”
Sam: He teased Quinn mercilessly, making her blush as he imitated Mike being caught in the act by the practice nurses just the previous week. “I swear Quinn, I’ve never seen him so embarrassed! You’re gonna be giving me and Cedes some serious competition..” Quinn giggled in spite of herself and shook her head. “ I don’t think so- you’re still the King and Queen of Freak! I can’t believe you guys are on your third kid!” A tiny mew, came from the tiny bundle she held carefully in her arms. “Seems like he’s waking up..Better go feed him..” she chuckled a little self consciously and he grinned, peering down at the newest addition to his best friend’s family. “Jeez he looks so much like Mike...Lizzie looks a little more like you, but Oliver has Mike all over him..” Fixing her with a serious look as his smile faded he asked her softly, “You happy?” Quinn nodded, smiling widely. “I’m so happy Sam...Thank you..” she reached out, laying her hand on his, “ You didn’t take advantage when I threw myself at you that time and I remember what you told me then- that Mike would find a way..and he did..” Sam shook his head slowly, “ No need to thank me, Quinn. Just glad to see you guys happy and finally free of Kitty. Even Missy seems a lot happier and Sammie said she’s one of her best friends now.” Leaning forward, he kissed her on the cheek, saying “You guys deserve this..” Looking up, he bit his lip, hiding a grin as he spied his wife aiming down the stairs. He knew she was feeling pretty uncomfortable- she kept saying she felt like a stuffed butterball, but to him she was breathtakingly gorgeous as ever. He smiled as Finn, helped her down the last few steps, no trace of the former jealousy he’d once felt. She was his, had always been, even when he’d been too dumb to see it, and boy did it feel good. “I’ll leave you to your feeding..if you want some privacy you can use one of the guest rooms upstairs..” he told the blonde before making his way over to his wife and catching her around the waist. “Hey Hudson,” he greeted Finn jovially, before kissing his wife lingeringly on the lips. “Hmmm...I’ve gone too long without a kiss from you, gorgeous..” He bent down and gave her belly a gentle kiss. “How’s my little grinch doing?” he teased her as he straightened, his hand stroking the tight mound of her stomach over the soft material of her dress. “Oh God..think I’m gonna be sick,” Finn complained, grinning at his friend’s antics. “Whatever bro, I saw the tears you were crying on your wedding day..Rachel has you so damned whipped, “ Sam bantered back good naturedly, bursting into laughter as Rachel herself came up, threading her hand through Finn’s arm, and watching how the big guy softened to a big pile of jello as he gazed at his tiny wife.
Mercedes: softened in her husband’s arms.  This was one of the big changes they had made in strengthening their marriage and she loved the fact that them touching without any awkwardness was so simple and easy now.  So much they had missed out on being shy and far from transparent with one another.  Now was like a 180.  They communicated more, always talked things through and never left anything off the table.   Long gone was any need for jealousy when it came to him and Quinn and seeing them converse and laugh just now only warmed heart cause she herself got to know Quinn on a personal level and they had now become the best of friends.  These past three years not only did she rejuvenate her marriage but her friendship with Sam as well.  He was her ride or die and she couldn’t have been happier.  “Baby, don’t tease him.  I think it’s cute.  Two of my favorite people found love with one another and I got a Goddaughter out of it.  They’re perfect.”  She smiled at the couple in front of them.   She then turned her attention to her husband fixing her mouth with slight grimace.  “He’s still chillaxing like my womb is a utopian wonderland.”  She looked down at her extended belly as if she could will her labor through penetrating glares.  “Plus, I’m wearing slippers cause none of my fancy shoes fit. Also this baby and I voted and we refuse to be in any Christmas photos.” She folder her arms as of her word was final knowing she would never get away with that one.
Sam: He laughed at the disgruntled expression on her face, sliding a hand into her hair and kissing the pout away from her lips. "You so are going to be in every Christmas photo..you're sexy and gorgeous and you know it.." It was amazing how much he loved her, he'd thought he'd known how much back when they were first married, but he'd soon learned how fathomless everything he felt for her was. He felt the clap on his shoulder that indicated his father was standing behind them and wrapping his arms around his wife he turned to see his parents and in-laws standing in front of them. "Don't you ever get tired of kissin’ up on your wife?" his dad asked, shaking his head. "Nope," he retorted, pressing another kiss to her soft lips. "Not at all..And before you say it," he fixed his mother and his mother-in-law with a look, "we are not doomed..In fact I think you can safely say, we're exactly where we want to be.." Mr Jones threw back his head and laughed. "That told you, sweetheart," he said to his wife, grinning. "I always knew, though, you two were meant for each other. I'd never have let you marry her if I hadn't have known that." Mrs Jones smiled nodding "I think we can say that three children in, you are definitely sticking together. One might have been an accident..but three? That has to have been on purpose.”
Mercedes: “Three kids and 13 years,” Mercedes added.  Despite them not being all glorious years of marriage she was still for the time she had with Sam.  They stuck together through thick and thin and what probably would be the toughest test to their marriage and they survived.  “I’m still questioning how you gave away my hand in marriage to a seven year old dad.”  “It was easy, watching the two of you interact when y’all were younger.  It was obvious he was hooked.  He had that same look in his eyes I had when I met your mother.  The look that he had just found his match.” Mr. Jones admitted.  “What a lovely match y’all are.” Mr. Evans chimed in.  “Yes, thank you for making our son so happy.  Thanks for the beautiful grandkids.” His wife added. “I’m just glad we are finally getting a boy.  For a moment I thought I chose wrong when we got two girls back to back,” Mr. Jones joked receiving a nudge from his wife.  “Dad!” Mercedes fussed.  “Oh stop you know I love my baby girls from the moon and back.  I only kid.”  Mercedes shook her head with a warm smile as she rested her head on Sam’s shoulder surveying the scene in front of her.  She was surrounded by family and friends that she loved and adored and felt like at that moment she couldn’t be any happier.
Sam: He gently pulled her away from their parents, his arms around her guiding her to stand by the huge Christmas tree the dominated their entrance hall at the foot of the stairs, festively decorated in gold and red. “It’s great to see everyone happy and whole..I thought for a time Mike and Quinn would never get their shit straight..Kitty certainly made it difficult for them..but now that she’s marrying that Ben Israel geek, she could wait to give them full custody of Missy and go after his millions. Always said she was deadlier than a rattlesnake that one. I’m stoked to finally see that back of her.” He turned her slightly towards him, eyes twinkling devilishly, a smirk twisting his lips. “You wanna know how to induce labour?” He whispered conspiratorially, lips brushing her ear as he leaned in towards her, then dropping his head down to nuzzle her collarbone. “Wild, rampant, hot sex..so what do you say?  Everyone’s busy eating..talking..whatever..they’ll never miss us...Just you, me, upstairs in that big old bed..” he grinned enticingly, tugging her towards the stairs, threading his fingers through hers. “If it works, then amazeballs..but if not...try, try and try again..not to mention, it’s good practice for the next one..” Clearly, he reflected, much later on, in the early hours of Christmas Day, watching his wife hold their newborn baby boy, that old wives tale had worked a trick very nicely...He picked up her hand as she held the baby in the crook of her arms and kissed it gently, with all the love that he felt for her now and always. “Thank you, Cedes...not just for this...but for all of the Christmases that have gone before..”

The Mystery of the Puzzling Flowers
Stardate December 27, 2020
2020 has been a horrifically difficult year for, I would say, the entire world and personally more challenging for me than usual. Besides moving an elderly parent with dementia into my household 2 weeks after the death of the other parent during the holiday season of 2019, I have had to stop working to stay home and assist with said parent who contributes financially to the household but I have lost half of my usual income. Having to answer the same questions and hear the same stories dozens of times a day with dizzying mind changes, emotional disturbances and circumstances has left me with the feeling that I now live in Wonderland - and not the good parts. My sister who’s husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about a year before all of this came about has washed her hands of the responsibility of the care of our parent. I understand she has her hands full but her only help during this devastatingly difficult year/experience was that she agreed to take our parent for 4 days so I could spend my a week celebrating my daughter’s milestone birthday at a lakeside cabin in Montana, leaving my husband to arrange care and transportation for our parent while working full time at a research hospital besieged by the Covid pandemic.
Through the exhausting emotional, mental and physical experience of pushing the parent to get the appropriate medical and dental care, oral surgery, a heart attack and mild stroke, my sister chose to come into town for a few hours to make a cameo appearance then return home without significant care or visiting time.
Now we have lived in a small town in Utah for the past 11 years. It was made known to us immediately after we moved in that there was no room for us in the congregation of the church we were assigned to. We were routinely snubbed, marginalized and bullied to the point that I refused to share my sacred time in the company of people who were either so cruel or so lacking in manners and civility. I stopped attending that ward and went to alternative meetings, all the while beginning to be malnourished spiritually and eventually on the verge of starvation. I wanted to serve but could not find a place in my heart for the people who had been so cruel and unconcerned with our feelings or well-being. We worked hard to update our house in the attempt to sell it and move without the expectation or hope that landing in another congregation would be slightly less painful. Finally, after 3 years of trying to keep the house “perfect” in the event that a buyer would swoop in and save us, a full price offer came in with the caveat that we close escrow in 30 days. This was actually on the day of the heart attack.
So we jumped in with all our might, fixing those last few things that needed attention like the cracked windows that had been there since we moved in (our bad) and leaving the house in better condition than we found it originally. There were kind souls who offered to help but with the quarantine and pandemic, we had to do with less help than I would have liked although I truly appreciated the time that was donated.
I prayed all month that when we moved at the beginning of December the weather would be dry because we had a world class ski slope for a driveway. Prayers answered, it was safe and dry when we loaded up the moving truck. Fat forward to December. We left our cozy, well-appointed, finally fixed up the way I wanted house and moved into a drafty old brick number with suspicious plumbing and cracked windows. An army of volunteers, most of whom I’d never met loaded up everything we owned and unloaded it in Salt Lake City - I was truly grateful.
Now we had to somehow make this house full of boxes into a home and a cozy Christmassy one at that to calm the parent with dementia who asked 20 times a day if we were going to get a real tree.
Four weeks of crazed packing and three weeks of crazed unpacking to come screeching up to a full Christmas halt. Done. Except that every winter I come down with a full case of SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder.  My sunny Southern California upbringing and conditioning wreaks havoc with me when the brutal Rocky Mountain winters arrive. The bitter cold drives me indoors while the lack of sunshine-related Vitamin D depletes whatever neurotransmitter cheer might remain, plunging me into SADness. My only wish while I was a busy Mom raising 4 kids, then a single mon, then a stepmom with 2 more and a mom one more time was that my kids live nearby when they were adults. That was all i wanted. I worked my @$$ off rearing decent people and wanted to bask in the warmth of the loving relationships we had developed. Another SCREECHING HALT.
Enter the 22 year long conundrum that broke my heart and spirit more than losing my 25-year old brother unexpectedly, surviving my parents’ divorce and subsequent 3 stepmothers and 2 stepfathers, a cheating spouse that abandoned me with 1 year of college and 4 kids in the armpit of California - Bakersfield. And other difficulties. When my oldest daughter married a young man from the thriving underbelly of civilized life in California; Bakersfield. They immediately (after we hosted the wedding and reception) cut us off. No thank you, no attempt to get to know our first in-law of that generation, nothing but a don’t call us for a year. While they continued to interact with his parents, grandparents and associates. I was flabbergasted and hurt more than I can say, after the first year, I tried to begin to rebuild the relationship but was rebuffed. It wasn’t until they were expecting their first baby that (I imagine her hormones softened her heart a little) and she reached out. Now he was a bully from the beginning. I heard him yell at her for not collecting the January rents of the apartments they managed when she had given birth by C-Section on December 28th. I accompanied her and her baby home from the hospital and the little guy and I had our first New Year’s Eve party trying to teach him to sleep at night. I was allowed to host a baby shower for her when she was pregnant.
I assume she was bullied into submission by her husband and his horrible father so they could continue to control the “family.” Now, 22 years after her (what I consider the unfortunate marriage,) she sent flowers for Christmas. Normally we don’t hear from them on holidays. I’d have to look, but I don’t think I ever got a Mother’s Day card from them, sometimes a Christmas card or gift. They’ve never spent a holiday with us in 22 years; she tried 4 years ago to come for Thanksgiving but we had already made other plans out of state. We’ve never been invited to a holiday at their house either. We’ve managed a few birthdays and an occasional special occasion, but the track record is dismal and heavily favoring his relatives to the continued exclusion of ours. We don’t lure her husband with the expensive entertainment he requires, although we did buy tickets to a major-league baseball game once and they stayed for an inning. They’ve chosen to miss more family reunions and important events than not. My dying parent last year bemoaned the fact they were neglectful and a disappointment to the family. They drive expensive cars and work hard but I do not believe they understand what family means. Driven by materialism, exclusion and status, I’ve heard how they’ve badmouthed my family and they were never there for our members that they might have helped with advice or comfort or just the things that families do for each other. I heard that his grandmother died recently. These are the grandparents that got to see them every week while we were denied any time together. I often wondered if they were partly to blame for their exclusion of me and my family.  I often said if his family were the only Mormons I knew, I would have nothing to do with the church.
So on my table stands a vase full of beautiful flowers. In my SADness I don’t want to ask why or even talk to her. I don’t know what it means and at this time it is more of a scar than a gift.
Today is my birthday.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a weird and wonderful story, full of odd surreal encounters and wacky nonsense. Despite it's strangeness though, I promise that drugs were not involved in it's production.

Alice in Wonderland isn’t about drugs.
Now, I know that may come as a surprise to some people. It’s pretty standard internet fair to point at Alice, with all the trippy visuals and the mushrooms and the Hookah caterpillar, and declare that it was REALLY all about drugs this whole time, oh ho ho, and Disney made a movie about it!
But it’s not. It’s not about drugs.
I want to talk about Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass a little bit today, what they are really about, where this idea of them being about drugs came from, and why I find it to kind of be bullshit.
So, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is an 1865 novel written by English novelist Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carrol. The sequel, Through the Looking Glass, was published in 1871. I’m going to focus mainly on these two original books, and  not the dozens and dozens and dozens of adaptations and remakes that exist. For the record, both books are in the public domain, so it's very easy to find pdf copies of them on the internet.
Almost every movie version of Alice, including the Disney one, splices together elements and plot points from both of the books, rather than simply adapting one story or the other. It’s not particularly important to know which characters and events happen in each, since they are very often published as a pair anyway. But we’re going to have a quick overview.
-
In Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alice is a young girl who is in the garden of her home playing with her cat Dinah when she sees a white  rabbit in a waistcoat run past, apparently late to an appointment. She follows the rabbit down the rabbit hole and thus into wonderland. What follows is a quintessential example of literary nonsense, filled with word play,  puns, and absurdity as Alice works her way through Wonderland.
She eats an odd bite of cake and drinks a potion which change her size. She cries so hard she creates a sea. She recites some poetry she had to memorize for school buts gets it all wrong. She meets a mouse that won’t answer her call in English, so she tries talking to it in French. She wonders if this assumed French mouse came over with William the Conqueror, because Alice doesn’t know much about when things in history happened. They reach the shore where other animals are. The mouse then gives a lecture on william the conqueror and the animals agree to a Caucus race to dry off  (Because Alice doesn’t know what a caucus actually is.)
Alice meets the Caterpillar, who seems to speak in riddles, correcting her grammar and not making sense. She meets the Duchess, who yells a lot and seems to ignore her baby. She meets the Cheshire Cat, who again, doesn’t make a lot of sense, and then the Mad Hatter and March Hare. More and more riddles. She plays a VERY silly game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts where the rules don’t make sense and the Queen cheats a lot. She meets a Mock Turtle (a pun on Mock Turtle soup, apparently Alice thought Mock Turtles were an animal). Then the world’s silliest court scene, where everything is unfair and doesn’t make sense, and then Alice goes back home, waking up as if from a dream.
Set presumably about half a year later, in Through the Looking Glass, Alice is playing inside the house with two cats, Dinah’s kittens, when she contemplates the mirror in the room. She finds that she is able to walk through the mirror and back into Wonderland.  She discovers a mostly nonsense poem, Jabberwocky, which can only be read if you hold it up to a mirror. She also finds that the chess pieces in the room have come to life. What follows is another adventure in mostly absurdity, though if you know how, you can actually use Looking Glass as a step by step guide for a real chess game. Alice plays the part of one of the white pawns.
She wanders through the garden of living flowers, meets Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, talks to Humpty Dumpty, and eventually makes all the way across the “board” and becomes a queen herself. The Red and White queens throw her a party,  and then confuse her with riddles and wordplay. This actually results in Alice physically confronting the Red Queen and “Capturing her”, putting the Red King into “Checkmate” unintentionally, and thus, she wakes up in her arm chair back home having won the game.
Quick recommendation, if you want to get all of the little wordplay and puns and references in Alice and Looking Glass, I recommend the Annotated Alice by Martin Gardner. It’s awesome.
- These books are pretty strange. So, if not a psychedelic reflection about a weird acid trip, or whatever, what’s up with these books? Why are they so weird?
Well, Carrol said he wrote the book after he and a friend spent a day on a river trip with the 3 young daughters of Henry Liddell in 1862. During their journey, Carrol entertained the girls with a made up nonsense story about a girl named Alice. Alice Liddell was so entranced that she told Carrol he should publish it. And so he did. He spent a few years refining the story before it was finally published, and the real Alice got her copy.
So on the surface, it’s just that- a silly story meant to amuse children, a celebration of imagination and childhood silliness.
But there are some underlying themes in these books. The encounters Alice has have a sort of pattern to them- Adults in the books, whether they are the Queen of Hearts or the White Queen, the Duchess or the Hatter, often speak in riddles. They make up rules that don’t make sense and refuse to explain them. The white rabbit is obsessed with never being late, and much of the word play or silliness comes from Alice not understanding adult or unfamiliar concepts (like the Mock Turtle or a Caucus race.)
And so the books become a very silly exploration of how a child, viewing the adult world, might feel confused and lost. Wonderland is Adulthood cloaked in familiar childhood clothes. Nursery Rhymes and game board pieces doing a fumbling pantomime of adulthood, discussing mathematical concepts and latin grammar, through the eyes of a child who doesn’t understand it.
There are many things that can be pulled from Alice- ideas of innocence, of escapism, of identity and sense of self,  of intentionally bucking order in favor of disorder. But none of those things are drugs.
(Sidenote: There is a whole other issue about Carrol’s….relationship with the Liddell daughters, and his...fondness for young girls in general. This is a whole separate debate, and it  gets kinda messy with contemporary views of childhood and adulthood and whether there was anything...untoward about his fondness for them. But that’s really not what we’re talking about today. )
- So, why do people think this is a story about drugs? Carrol wasn’t known for opium use, or even heavy drinking. He had no exposure to psychedelics (magic mushrooms wouldn't be discovered by Europeans until 1955) So why?
I think the easiest answer is that people want stories to make sense. I want stories to make sense. I spent a lot of money going to college to get a degree in “Making stories make sense.” We want there to be a reason that things happen in stories, and so when a story feels as random and silly and surreal as Alice, we want to figure out what it’s REALLY about.
This is kind of the underlying idea behind surrealism in general- creating art and meaning out of the absurd and random images of dreams and unreality. [Side note, there is an edition of Alice with illustrations by Salvador Dali, which is...amazing.]
And thanks to the culture of the 1960s and 1970s, there is a heavy association between reality-bending images and drug use, especially hallucinogens. And depending on which adaptation you are looking at, some movies really play up this trippy psychedelic aesthetic for Alice.
But I think there’s another level to this one, and one that I find much more grating. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a story for children, especially for girls. And there is a certain segment of the population, especially among young adults on the internet, who really seem to enjoy taking things aimed at children and declaring NO, this thing isn’t for kids, it’s actually FOR ME, and slapping an edgy dark interpretation on top of it, however sloppily.
Fan theories like...Ash is in a coma all along, or all the Rugrats are dead and Angelica is just imagining them, and...yeah, a huge slice of the Brony fandom declaring that adult men are the real audience, they aim at appropriating and co-opting child media for adult consumption
And there’s something about that which leaves a sour taste in my mouth over all. - I don’t think there’s anything inherently bad about reimagining child stories in more adult ways. But I do think it somewhat misses the point when people begin to insist that these mature reimaginings are the CORRECT or more valid interpretation, especially if they lead to the exclusion of children from that media space.
With Alice in particular, I think the story gives adult readers a chance to empathize with children, not as dolls or objects of cuteness, but as people interacting with a confusing and strange world as they grow up. It is an opportunity to revisit childhood, with all it’s familiar characters and uncertainty and wonder, and rather than corrupt that story, I think it should be embraced.
I’m going to leave you with the end of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alice’s adult sister, having heard her story, lays back, and herself begins to dream, of Wonderland and of her sister Alice. And This is what it says, “Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days.”
And that is what Wonderland is about.

Contact [my email and contact information]
Introduction & About Me
Hello! My name’s Rain, and I’m a 21-year-old who has been roleplaying for approximately 6 years (but only in the most recent 4 or 5 have I really been “serious”). After being dragged by the ankles (although not without a struggle) into a hellish chasm of personal issues that has kept me from writing, I’ve finally managed to work everything out and am now itching to get back into the roleplaying-game! I’m hoping that I can find some good partners to satiate my cravings, and hopefully I can satiate some of yours too. If you emailed me in the past and I didn’t respond, shoot me another email! Like I said, I had some things get in the way, so I’d be up for rekindling a past roleplay or picking up planning where we left off.
I can write replies ranging anywhere from 500-1200 words average - I know that’s a rather big window to call my “average”, but I don’t want to make it sound like that’s my strict length. This equates to around 3-8 paragraphs, but that obviously will vary depending on the size of the paragraph. I can certainly go upwards from 1200 and have gone on to posts with 2000+, however that’s usually too much for most people. Essentially, I’ll write the same amount you write so that it’s not over or underwhelming. Let me know your range and I’ll adapt! Although, if you would be willing to write 1500+/2000+ words a post, then you’d earn quite a bit on bonus points from me.
In terms of writing style, I write third person, past tense, multi-paragraph to novella. HEREare some samples of my writing! The first was an intro so it’s quite long, and the second is from the same roleplay as the first. The third is from a separate one.
I’m also putting this up front - my schedule’s a bit wonky. There will be some days where we can go back and forth multiple times with multiple posts each and there will be some days where I can’t reply at all. I’ll try my best to let you know in advance if there will be a period of 2+ days where I can’t reply, but things happen. My activity rate is partially dependent on interest level as well - if I’m really into and excited about our roleplay, I’ll be able to reply more often!
On a similar note, I’m on the east coast (EST) if that’s an important factor for you.
I’m open to playing multiple characters if that suits your fancy, or, if you’d rather just play one each, that’s fine by me as well.
For relationship pairings, I do all different kinds: romantic/sexual, platonic, familial, and antagonistic. I think it’s fine to mix and match all these different kids because they can make for some interesting character interaction! As for the gender pairings of the characters, I'm mostly looking for m/f, but depending on the idea/character I may do m/m (but please, make sure you ask first!).
Regarding the above, I very much prefer the female role in m/f pairings but of course in m/m pairings I will play a male. I also find it interesting to write against more dominant male characters for heterosexual pairings, but that’s certainly not required. I can totally get behind a shy sweetheart of a guy as well! In the end, it’s your character, so it’s up to you! I don’t usually double in terms of each partner playing one male and one female, either - I know that is a deal-breaker for many, so I apologize for that. I may be willing to double in certain cases, but I’m not easily convinced - however, if you think you have mastered the arts of persuasion, then by all means, try to persuade me. I’m open to it.
I’m smut friendly as well and don’t mind including it in my roleplays, but it’s really dependent on the content of the story itself. I don’t necessarily want a story that is focused solely on smut, but I wouldn’t mind having it play a part (whether it’s small or large, that’s for you to decide). Going along with the NSFW theme, I’m all for most kinks - you name it, and more likely than not I’ll be willing to write it, but I would still rather you check with me first. The only ones that I won’t do and can’t be convinced to do are pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, anything with body fluids, feet, pregnancy/lactation, vore, and gore. Everything else is fair game. Note that of those, gore and only gore is fine when not employed sexually (i.e. if the characters are fighting or in battle or are doing something violent of the sort, then it is totally fine). If you’d like to include smut, ask me for my list of kinks and share yours with me as well!
I use face-claims for all of my characters and only use realistic images.
I'm only interested in roleplaying over email at the moment. My email is [email protected].
What I’m Looking for in a Partner
Now that we’ve got those basics out of the way, there are certain things that I would like out of a partner that hopefully someone can provide!
Be 18+, please. I know I’m technically on the younger end of the adult spectrum but I still feel uncomfortable roleplaying with minors (especially because some of my plots can contain smut).
I would prefer if you were female, just because I am more comfortable roleplaying and writing with someone who is the same gender as I am, but that isn’t a requirement, as I don’t want to totally limit the partners that reach out to me and potentially miss out on a fantastic male, nonbinary, etc. partner just because they aren’t female.
I’m looking for someone who can at least mirror or match my minimum post length, so no fewer than 3-4 paragraphs or 500 or so words. Again, if you want to write longer replies that span the 1500+ word range, than that would be even better!
I would like if you wrote in the third person. Tense doesn’t matter - write present or past, that’s up to you. But I won’t roleplay with anyone who writes in the first or second person, as it is a little weird to me.
If you can get me at least one post every other day, I’d be happy! If you can get me more than that, even better! Also, let me know if you’re not going to be able to reply for a prolonged period of time so that I’m not sitting on my hands wondering where you went.
Likewise, if you want to drop the roleplay for any reason, just let me know! I won’t be mad if it’s not working out, I just don’t want to be ghosted by someone who doesn’t want to continue and instead never replies again.
If you can play multiple characters, that would be wonderful, but again, it’s certainly not a requirement.
Use realistic face claims for characters, please! No anime or cartoons, but if you are an artist that has a more realistic style and would like to use your own art, then that is fine by me!
When you email me, let me know which things listed below interest you/you would want to include! Tell me a little about yourself and the way you write as well (including whether or not you would like to include smut in the roleplay as well as your limits if it’s the latter).
Also, if you have an idea that I haven’t listed, ask/tell me! I’m very open to suggestions!
Roleplay Information
On to the part that you’ve actually wanted to see! I have a variety of things that I would like to include in a roleplay. To set it up, my preferred role in a pairing will be italicized; if neither are italicized, then I will write either. I’ll also note what type of relationship I would be interested in writing for a particular pairing/plot (romantic/sexual, platonic, familial, or antagonistic); we can also combine some of the four (like a romantic/sexual and antagonistic would be fun). Additionally, we can combine pairings if you’d like by writing more than one character each. Anything with a carrot (^) means I have a plot in mind if you’d like to hear it, and anything with an asterisk (*) means that I am willing to write either m/f or m/m (which means anything without one means only m/f). I’m up for fluff or action or anything in between, so let me know what you want!
Fandoms
Harry Potter
Hermione Granger x Draco Malfoy (romantic/sexual and/or antagonistic)
Ginny Weasley x Draco Malfoy (romantic/sexual and/or antagonistic)
[Your suggestion] x [Your suggestion] (romantic/sexual, platonic, antagonistic and/or familial)
Fairy Tales
Note: if any animal-esque character is involved in the following pairings, any romantic/sexual interactions will occur when that character is in human form, and/or the character will be replaced with a similar human mythical creature (ex: werewolf).
Little Red Riding Hood
The [Boy/Girl] Who Cried Wolf *^
Beauty and the Beast *^
Alice in Wonderland
Aladdin
Pairings/Plot Points
Royalty x Royalty (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic) *
Royalty x Peasant (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic)
Royalty x Knight (romantic/sexual or platonic)
Kidnapping/abduction
Vampire x Human (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic) [note: I have done this one a lot of times, so if you’d like to do this one, make sure your plot is interesting and/or unique!]
Demon x Human (romantic/sexual and/or antagonistic)
Overprotectiveness/possessiveness [note: I love this relationship element, especially overprotectiveness!]
Demon x Demon Hunter (romantic/sexual and/or antagonistic)
Artist/Photographer x Model/Dancer (romantic/sexual, platonic, or familial) *
Superhero x Superhero (romantic/sexual, platonic, antagonistic, and/or familial)
Superhero x Supervillain (romantic/sexual, platonic, antagonistic, and/or familial)
Biker/Biker Gang x Civilian (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic)
Rich x Rich (romantic/sexual and/or antagonistic)
Rich x Poor (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic) *
Rich x Servant/Maid (romantic/sexual)
Genie x Human (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic) *
Fae/Fairy/Pixie x Human (romantic/sexual, platonic, and/or antagonistic)
Plots
I only have one pre-thought here, but I’m really open to your suggestions! If you’ve been dying to write a plot but haven’t found someone to write it with yet, please tell me! I’d be happy to satiate your craving.
A florist and tattoo shop are located across the street from each other, and the tattoo artist comes in every day to buy flowers/look at flowers to practice drawing, but both he and the florist are very much attracted to each other.
Characters
I’m not quite sure what to call this section, but it’s essentially a summary (more like bullets) of some characters that I already have ideas for that can be used in various different scenarios and plot-lines. They are in no particular order. If you are willing to let me use one of these, that will earn you major bonus points with me! Let me know if you are interested in any and I can elaborate. Most of them don’t have names yet (and the ones that do are subject to change) because I am very picky with names, aha, but I’ll think of those later. There obviously aren’t many of these at the moment, but there will likely be more of these added in the future. Anything with a plus (+) is one I am really dying to use! If you have an idea for/an already made character that you think would pair well with any of these, please describe them to me! Or, alternatively, if you have any characters you’ve been dying to use, let me know! Perhaps I can create a character to write opposite them.
i. anny // female // early to mid twenties // heterosexual // asian // american // laid-back; quiet; passive-aggressive; collected, sly; manipulative; understanding; charming; grew up wealthy, still is wealthy, doesn’t bring up financial situation much; has danced in various genres since she was little, still does; english major, cognitive science minor; plays the violin; dislikes uncleanliness; editor.
ii. olson // male // mid twenties // bisexual, prefers men // caucasian // american // + // bitter; sarcastic; serious; aloof; intelligent; private; defensive; lost hearing in his early childhood, received cochlear implants in late adolescence, speech still sounds “different” from a hearing person’s; knows American Sign Language (ASL) and English; film/television production and mathematics double major, art history minor; likes maps; doesn’t particularly like physical contact; photographer [note: would prefer to write him against a character who is hearing and able to talk rather than another character on the mute/hard-of-hearing spectrum].
Contact
That’s all I can think of at the moment! Again, if there’s anything else not listed that you’ve been dying to try out, let me know! More likely than not, I’ll say yes and jump right on board. Shoot me an email at [email protected] with your interests and a little information about yourself (ex: average post length, activity, etc.). If you shoot me a message just saying a pairing you were interested in without telling me about yourself, then I won’t be as inclined to reply since I don’t know if our styles would match up! So please, tell me about yourself - I promise I won’t bite!

Brisbane 2018
Tumblr media
DAY 1
The first time I went to Australia it was solo backpacking in Sydney. It was a short trip that even if I was able to go around to a lot of different places, I still missed on doing other things like ride a ferry; see other beaches; try Vegemite; go to the countryside; see kangaroos and koala bears, etc. Well, the next time I went to AU, it all kinda came true - in Brisbane. Thanks for my dear host Stephen. I was very happy that he agreed to tour me around in his hometown. And because he grew up there, I got to know the city in a different level.
Tumblr media
Different way of flying to Aussie this time. It was not direct like when when I went to Sydney via Cebu Pac. This time it’s via Qantas Air.  And I have to experience an “amazing race” connecting flights in different countries. I actually like checking different airlines and airports so I really don’t mind. I am starting to have some favorites actually.
Tumblr media
After spending almost a day of connecting flights and stopping-over. I was back in Australia. I arrived during midnight. My gracious host fetched me up from the airport. I told him it’s okay to be in his pyjamas.
DAY 2
From there, I started to get to know Brisbane (and Stephen) as we started passing by different places after the airport. We stopped by first, at a convenient store to grab a midnight snack and off to his place. I noticed that the streets are broader in Brisbane than in Sydney.
Kangaroo Point
The next day, I was ready to see Brisbane. Well, I do not have to go any further to enjoy the fabulous view of the city because from his balcony you’ll get to see the gorgeous City District Buildings, the Brisbane river and the Story Bridge. The highways and roads are also easily accessible and proximity to shops, restaurants, and the city ferry terminals as well. I find myself taking panoramic shots whenever I can from his balcony.
Tumblr media
Story Bridge Deli & Cafe
Off to have breakfast first. I told about the Story Bridge - well, under it, there is a suburb. And in that suburb, is an old-style delicatessen called Story Bridge Deli & Cafe. It is the place to come for everything from breakfast or lunch as well as morning coffee. You will just happen to hear lots of cars whizzing up the bridge when you sit outside but, it is a part of its charm.
Tumblr media
Lone Pine attempt
After breakfast, we went to the first stop - to see the koalas and kangaroos. Just a short distance from Brisbane City is the Lone Pine Sanctuary. The place is pretty popular to tourists. We happen to arrive late from sleeping-in so, a lot of people have piled up already excited to see the cute animals. So, we switched plans and went to Mt. Cootha instead.
Tumblr media
Mt. Coot-tha
Brisbane Lookout at scenic Mt. Coot-tha is a ‘must see’ for all visitors to Brisbane. It offers spectacular panoramic views over the CBD all the way to Moreton Bay. On the mountain, there are also cafés and restaurants to cater to all visitors.
Tumblr media
Nice to see the whole city from a bird’s eye view. It definitely is stunning in the day, but I’ve heard it’s also a wonderland of lights at night.
Vine Restaurant Bar
Looking forward to seeing Brisbane in the evening. So, we decided to go for dinner that night. Italian it is at Vine Restaurant Bar.
Not just the traditional Italian dishes. Seeing the menu, it was very interesting to decide on what to have. I believe I ordered a bird dish but it was really delicious. Soup + the dish left me stuffed. But I made room for some dessert and of course wine to go along with it.
Tumblr media
Nice ambiance in that place. It just went pretty warm inside because of the heater. Nonetheless, the staff were very nice going from one table to another, making sure that customers are having a nice food experience.
DAY 3
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Back at Lone Pine to catch the koalas and the kangaroos. We made it a point to really come early this time before the influx of the people. It was pretty successful the second time around. Lone Pine is popular to tourists, to save yourself from lining up, you have to get there early.
Tumblr media
We were able to go around the whole place and see most of the animals. I was able hold the koalas, hand feed kangaroos and see a large variety of Australian wildlife like Tasmanian devil, bats, parrots, etc. within the natural settings of the sanctuary. Yes, I was a kid for today but it’s all good. It’s fun engaging with animals. I got my 2019 calendar with this cute ball of fur.
Citycat Ferry
I’ve seen Brisbane from a bird’s eye view at Mt. Cootha, also by the road by a Benz now it’s time to see Brisbane from a  duck’s point of view from the river itself via CityCat ferry.  The Citycat ferry is a pleasurable way to travel in Brissy. It carries Brisbane passengers each day along the inner-city. It has 15 stops and if you go from one end to another, will take you almost an hour.
Tumblr media
We occupied the padded seating outside (don’t forget to bring your jumper during winter). Definitely a great view of the Brisbane River and you’ll get past Brisbane icons, such as the Story Bridge and South Bank Parklands. It was a plus to see the the lovely sunset from the river for we rode the ferry during that time.
Tumblr media
Eat Street Markets
After cruising along the river to the last terminal, we had an eight-minute walk and we were in Eat Street. Eat Street is a container food village that is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
Tumblr media
It was quite overwhelming when you get there the first time. The sights, smells, tastes and sounds. Oh the food! So many to choose from! You better get a game plan as they say so you can choose the best food you would like to eat. You can check out all the stalls first before making any food decisions. You really have to! And have a snack while at it ;)
Tumblr media
After you’ve wandered around and spotted lots of great food choices. For sure you are ready to order your main meal. They have a great way to order so while you wait, you can still check out the other stalls and finally get your food.
Tumblr media
When you are ready to sit down and devour, you can choose from the so many colorful alleys, where there are so many tables and chairs in. There are bands playing to keep you entertained. Eat Street is definitely a feast in every sense.
DAY 4
Queensland
Heading out to a beach on the Coast and to other beautiful places like Montville, Melany in Queensland. From Brisbane, it’s a two hour drive getting there, I believe. The road getting there has a bit of surprise so, if you feel like dozing off during the trip… hold it! At least get passed the Glasshouse Mountains.
Tumblr media
Glasshouse Mountains
There's a total of 8 of them. The Range, as it is locally known, was created by 200 million years of constant interaction by volcanoes and water which left behind a mass of hills, valleys and waterfalls.
Tumblr media
I was half asleep and half peeping during the trip. I thought I saw a big rock formation beneath some tall trees, it was a view of one of the Glasshouse Mountains up close. Stephen thought I missed it. I hope I was not dreaming.
Montville
After less than an hour or so, we arrived in a charming little village called Montville. It is nice to walk around here in this village. You will feel the winter cold at the same time - sun striking on your face for Montville is quite elevated in location.
Tumblr media
It is home to unique restaurants, coffee houses, art galleries and specialty shops which maintain their own special blend of character and individual style.
Tumblr media
Montville is quaint and romantic in a sense, certainly worth a visit.
Baroon Pocket Dam
Next, near Montville is a picturesque lake called the Baroon Pocket Dam. Pretty quiet and relaxing when we got there. Perhaps it was a Monday and there’s not much people. I am pretty sure there are lots of activities you can do if you walk around the lake, shoreline and some sort of forest in there.
Tumblr media
There are picnic tables, places for barbecues and playgrounds for the kids making it the ideal spot for a get together with family or friends.
Caloundra Beach
Last stop before we head back is the Caloundra beach. Yes, it is still winter but, you would not want to miss on the fine sand beaches in Queensland. Nonetheless, still can’t sunbathe in that cold. But, it's still pretty nice to hangout and just talk about anything under the sun while eating fish and chips.
Tumblr media
Movie Night
Nice to just chill  and watch some movies indoors at the end of the day. Especially if my host has a wide collection of movies from CD’s to anything new that is already downloadable.
A sure nice way to relax before a long trip back to Manila the next day. All snugged up in a blanket and munching some salted caramel popcorn from Eat Street with some nice warm drink. #Hygge
Tumblr media
DAY 5
One last breakfast at the Story Bridge Deli & Cafe before I pack my bags.
Tumblr media
As we headed to the airport, we dropped by the grocery store to buy pasalubong - famous Timtams & Vegemites :) I’d like to thank my host for filling half of my baggage with it. He got the concept of “pasalubong.” So, if you guys took a piece from the fridge, you now know who to thank.
Back to the airport. Flying Qantas Air from Brisbane to Sydney then to Singapore. I had a six hour stop over in Changi. Initially I was planning to go around and check the whole place but just chilled in the lounge instead. Three hours more via Jetstar, I was back to the Philippines.
Tumblr media
A 5-day holiday is never enough. Nonetheless, it’s a great weekend trip. I had the best companion who despite having an injury - toured me around Brissy and made sure I felt at home.

Social Identity
Social identity is the way in which individuals present/express themselves to the public, predominantly via social media. A person’s social identity is usually warped in some way to appear more acceptable to society. This is due to the standardised factors such as gender, socioeconomic status, nationality and fear of judgement from others. Below I have collated several entries from individuals via social media and asked them to describe themselves briefly based on what they believe to be their social identity. I gave minimal guidelines and asked for a small about of information to pressure individuals to be concise. The results are evidently varied, and represent the varying identities people can present on social media.
Lachlan Baker: Male, 20 white Australian,  party animal, friends and family means everything, adventuring, life is a beach ride the wave of life, stay positive go forward never go back.

Stacey Harrell: The Indispensable Man (by Saxon White Kessinger) Sometime when you're feeling important; Sometime when your ego 's in bloom; Sometime when you take it for granted, You're the best qualified in the room: Sometime when you feel that your going, Would leave an unfillable hole, Just follow these simple instructions, And see how they humble your soul. Take a bucket and fill it with water, Put your hand in it up to the wrist, Pull it out and the hole that's remaining, Is a measure of how much you'll be missed. You can splash all you wish when you enter, You may stir up the water galore, But stop, and you'll find that in no time, It looks quite the same as before. The moral of this quaint example, Is to do just the best that you can, Be proud of yourself but remember, There's no indispensable man.

Song that best describes me would be Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. There's a constant nagging in my mind that I'm being judged severely for whatever reason. It's maddening. My interaction with the real world is to deal with people without them ever figuring out that I'm a 'fraud', whatever that means. I feel dishonest, even when I explicitly don't mean to be. I am sustained by my Catholic faith, and its instrumental to my being and keeps my cynicism in check. I wish it could be socially acceptable to talk openly about it, it feels limiting otherwise. Besides it’s amazing natural beauty and outdoor hiking trails, Jeju Island is also famous for it’s many museums and theme parks around the island. One of its most recent attractions is the new exhibition hall, Hello Kitty Island. A new complex built to indulge in the ultra-cute world of Sanrio’s most beloved character…Hello Kitty! I first heard of the place two years ago when I spotted it on Instagram. As fate would have it, I was going to spend a weekend in Jeju….and Hello Kitty Island was on top of my to do list!
What is it?
Hello Kitty Island is a new concept created by Sanrio for fans and customers to enjoy a new type of exhibition of Hello kitty. Playing on Jeju Island’s growing popularity as a rather romantic destination and hot spot in Asia, they decided to build a new place for indulgence and enjoyment for tourists.
Hello Kitty Island is a 3-storey exhibition styled complex devoted to the growth and development of Hello Kitty.  From lifestyle interior concepts, play rooms, movies and at installations, the Hello kitty island offer everything under one pink roof.
Where is it?
So Jeju Island isn’t exactly small, and in my previous post you will have rely on public transport or rent a car. I was foolish and took a cab. Hello Kitty Island is really far from the main city and a one way cab ride can cost you about KRW 30 000 (US$30)! This is fine if you are sharing, but I was alone as I nobody else I knew was interested in visiting this magnificent site of culture.
There is a bus going down this highway, but then you will still have to take a cab to eventually get there. In this case, you will also need a phone.
Hello Kitty Island is really in an awkward spot. I’m not sure why they put it in the middle of the island besides the mountains on a highway. I think a spot near the beach would have been more fitting in any case.
On entering
The complex resembles a pink cushioned jewellery box and stands out amongst the lush green vegetation of the island. On entering you are greeted by a large Hello Kitty shaped door, through the door you are overwhelmed by a looming Hello Kitty doll tree that goes right up to the 3rd floor. Behind the tree, you enter her home.
Hello Kitty over the years
The first hallway you enter will show you the development of the character over the years. The room showcases some of its first products and merchandise form the 1970s and how it has grown into an international brand since then.
Every year Hello Kitty has a theme, and through that theme numerous merchandise is sold and marketed. Themes range from Hello Kitty’s water adventures, then her farming attempt at growing perfect tomatoes to her more romantic silhouette edition. It also showcases her famous collaboration with various fashion brands. These themes also come with new design styles which will be incorporated into her collection of the year on whatever products they create.
We are also shown a timeline of her friends, or Sanrio’s other popular characters who have joined in over the years.
There was also this really cool hologram machine of Hello Kitty and her family.
Good Morning Hello Kitty!
In the next room we enter a part of Hello Kitty’s house. We find statues and photos of the family throughout the room. The room is based on the original cartoon and tries to take you through the daily life of Hello Kitty at home.
Out and About with Kitty
Out of the cosy home you are taken to a room that is created to show the busy street where Hello Kitty and her friends venture out into in the cartoon world. First you can catch the bus at the giant apple-shaped bust stop. Inside the bus you can take a seat or hold onto the Hello kitty hand rungs while a screen shows you scenes from different stops along the route in the town.
Hello kitty Loves reading and art
Your next stop is an installation of a library. In the 80s Hello Kitty promoted reading and books to inspire young children to indulge in literature.
There is a cool interactive room where you can create various patterns using Hello kitty designs and images through touch screens.
After that, they offer some art activities for kids in the Hello kitty Art School.
There’s also a dance room , where you can learn and follow Hello Kitty’s latest dance moves accompanied with an upbeat song. The room was well decorated with strobe and neon lights adorning the space.
Adventure time
As you walk past the giant Hello Kitty tea cups, you will ascend to the adventure themed rooms. Along the way there will be posters showing Hello Kitty’s various cartoons and yearly themes through bright and colourful illustrations.
  The forest of emotions
These brightly decorated rooms try to recreate a fantasy adventure concept of Hello Kitty’s world through fairy tales and myth. Starting with her story “down the rabbit hole”, we get to look inside her version of a wonderland filled with trippy castles, tea time, star constellations and a romantic fountain.
One of the interesting installation is the Forest of Emotions, where the characters are placed between tree silhouettes with changing colours in a dark room. See the video for the changing colours.
Sailing the skies
This adventure room is connected to the current 3-d film that is being played in the theatre. Hello Kitty and friends go into another dimension aboard a pirate ship. They sail through the body of a whale and they encounter the Little Twin stars. In this room, you can put you head in the whale’s belly and walk into a giant star. Pressing the lit up buttons reveal various constellations of your favourite characters.
See the video for what’s inside the Star Room
But is it art?
After this room, you will be led through exhibition rooms displaying Hello Kitty through modern art. There are some interesting pieces that question and challenge her identity and her role in consumerist culture.
Lifestyle
Out of the museum you get to walk through a room devoted to Hello Kitty décor and it’s great for photo opportunities. This is major décor goals as far as I’m concerned.
There’s also a fun play area for kids with everything themed with our favourite cat!
Hello Kitty Café Time
After all the rooms, you are led to the famous Hello Kitty Café. This one is really big and offers amazing views of the island.
Hugs with Hello Kitty
At around 5 pm, Hello Kitty makes an appearance for some cute photo opportunities. To be honest, the complex was rather empty due to the lack of tourists, so there was no line. The staff are kind enough to take a photo for you with Kitty.
There’s a gift shop on exiting the complex. I just bought my magnet souvenirs. I got the Hello Kitty Jeju edition with Hello Kitty as Mount Halla Kitty, Hello kitty as a Jeju orange (as Jeju is famous for its orange farms) and Hello kitty riding the famous black Jeju piggy.
What a day
This place is big, and there’s lots to see. Luckily there was hardly anybody when i went, Getting home is a bit tricky without a car, but if you need to take a cab the staff kindly call one for you. Hello Kitty Island is a must for anyone who loves the world of pop culture and cute.
Hello Kitty is always fun!
Cute travels,
Bee
Hello Kitty Island, Jeju! #jeju #hellokitty #sanrio #travel #travelblogger #korea #lifestyle Besides it’s amazing natural beauty and outdoor hiking trails, Jeju Island is also famous for it’s many museums and theme parks around the island.
