BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP W/ EDDIE BROCK & VENOM (616 | generalized canon)

Your worst arguments happen because of them being so quick to engage in fights with Spider-Man if they so much as catch a glimpse of the web-slinger. (this was more of a problem earlier in the relationship)
Eddie is very much a man of action, and is allergic to inactivity, so oftentimes he has no idea about the newest pop culture phenomena. If you want him to engage in that media with you you’ll have to be the one bridging the gap.
You can however coerce him into watching a show/movie with you if you ply him with cuddles. He’ll 100% be paying you more attention than the screen though.
Alternatively though, the symbiote loves watching the silly little pictures on the screen and will usually request to watch movies with you if not already preoccupied.
One: because he likes being around you (you’re gonna get real used to the feel of the alien, trust me) and Two: because the dialog helps him improve upon his people skills for talking to civilians.
(Eddie’s natural gruff straightforwardness is only so helpful - ie:not helpful at all - for them when trying to save or soothe spooked people as Venom.)
Eddie’s eyes are a very intense blue-steele and the first time you met you told him he had “doll eyes”. However, he was so baffled he laughed so you count that as a win and mention the natural uncanniness of them every once in a while to tease him. You love his eyes though, really.
They love to kiss (and bite) at the junction between your neck and shoulders. I have a longstanding headcanon about marks and shit but I’m not gonna go into that rn.
Get comfortable with the distinct knowledge that you technically come second for both of them. It’s just that there’s a difference between being romantically involved (you and them) and being codependent and in love(Eddie and the symbiote).
On another note they do call you Precious (and if we take the name out of the context of how some of us were bullied with it it’s actually beautiful so…just let it happen). Eddie let alone Venom is clueless to the connotation. Plus Eddie’s got a really obsessive personality so I think that coupled with Venom’s own baggage coming into play makes the nickname very fitting.
They always reach for your hand in public, especially when around others to show that you're theirs cause they’re possessive like that.
They don’t need to sleep per say, as long as they have the right nutrients, so honestly sometimes they don't even go to sleep whenever joining you in bed. They'll just lay beside you smiling to themselves and watch you sleep.
They end up telling you they love you purely by accident after you had gotten hurt by falling debris when Spider-Man and Rhino were fighting. (They say it mid rant).
The only good thing to come out of the whole situation is Venom getting to carry you.
The symbiote, not possessing the concept of human shame, will say the most inappropriate things to you in public without a fuck to give. Eddie, shamelessly, also quietly does this to you because most human conventions mean nothing to him anymore.
They think you're adorable when flustered, and like it even better when on occasion you join in.
They’re constantly fretting over the possibility that Carnage might come and kill you for shits and giggles or that somehow Peter will manage to take the last pure thing in their life away from them.
Being away from them? Ha, ya right. They’ve always got you physically close or monitored by a part of the symbiote (I’m mixing up symbiote abilities so if it bothers you a lot then just say the part that stays with you is the clone of venom). You're really never without a part of them but you don't quite mind it. They’ll also resort to stalking with zero hesitation.
They take great pleasure in making their "mate" feel worshiped so you’ll have a lot of fun with that. Just make sure you accept and are vocal about your appreciation for their antics if you don’t want them to stop. Reciprocation doesn’t hurt either.
you(little spoon) eddie(big spoon)
The symbiote definitely appreciates being held more than Eddie with his intimacy issues and the ingrained notions of how men “should” act.
NOTES: Hope you enjoyed!!
If this looks familiar know it’s because it’s from an old blog I ran (just rewritten a bit), but otherwise it doesn’t really matter. I also noticed that I have a lesser amount of Marvel imagines than I do DC so this is definitely me trying to rectify that. Also, trust me, I know the Lord of the rings connotation I’m just not addressing it.
btw: This is a side blog so while comments are welcome I won’t respond.

I try to keep my page as safe for all ages as I possibly can but I am prone to spouting my mind freely without thinking on here, I do also try to use trigger warnings/ warnings in general when I'm venting about topics or writing about things that may be traumatic or inappropriate for some age groups.
Things I believe in/support before you hit follow: Land back, BLM, the freeing of Palestine, Ukraine and the congo (+ any other countries being oppressed), Trans and LGBTQ+ rights, Intersectional feminism, Equity, general leftism although I'm not overboard about it, healthy masculinity, the idea that you can do what you want when you want as long as it isn't actually harming anyone and makes you happy.
I hope you enjoy my page and find some semblance of entertainment from it.

Safe Inside
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Word Count: 2,754
Warnings: Non/con. Explicit sexual content. Dark!Peter Parker AU. 18+ only!
Tumblr media
The knock on your apartment door couldn't have come soon enough. After a long, tiring day working virtually, all you wanted was your take out, likely still warm from the restaurant downtown. Hair in a messy bun, long shirt covering a pair of shorts you padded to the door. Looking through the peephole, just to be safe. You couldn’t be too careful nowadays.
You opened the door to see your usual delivery guy standing before you, grey Supreme hoodie beneath a black coat, the hood pulled over his head. In his hand were the handles of a plastic bag as he balanced a soda on top of it.
“Greek delivery for a pretty lady in apartment 410?” He asked, barely able to contain his smile.
“Hey Pete,” you greeted, matching his energy. “I just Venmo’d you.”
“You better not have included a tip, Y/N.” Peter handed over the soda and bag before grabbing his phone from his pocket to check for the transaction. “I told you to stop tipping me.”
“I know you did,” you answered smuggly. “But you deserve a tip when you give me life by baklava.” He smiles back before peering into the apartment behind you. He was always doing that; checking, observing. You only ever ordered dinner for one, but that didn’t stop him from being curious. Not one to easily trust, you know the little world you built can be easily destroyed if you let the wrong person in.
He never asked if you were seeing someone or overstepped. The most flirting you had done with this younger man was to tell him that if he got straight A’s this semester at the university, you’d invite him inside for a drink.
“Yeah, yeah. I appreciate you. I gotta run, but I’ll text you.” He waved and made his way down the hall.
Using your foot to kick your door closed you locked it with your free hand and set the food down on the counter. Setting your Spotify playlist to shuffle on 80’s rock before digging in at your tiny dining room table that barely fits in your small apartment.
You met Peter on a whim. Never one to plan meals out in advance, you were often left to starve or eat cereal for dinner after working. Never one to leave your apartment when it was dark out, you settled for having dinner delivered. Peter was delivery guy on a food delivery app and learned your dinner routine and favorites quickly. Which was surprising, because you couldn’t possibly be the only person in Queens ordering take out every other night.
And he couldn’t be the only delivery guy around, but he somehow became your usual delivery guy and you, his regular. Usually one to get chips as a side at a nearby deli, you didn’t order any one evening. He messaged you No chips tonight?
It surprised you, but you brushed it off, telling him you were cutting back on junk food. He dropped off the meal at your door with a knock, but by the time you opened it, he was gone. Sitting at the top of the paper bag was a bag of your favorite chips.
Always one to drop off your food quickly and not stay to chat, you caught him one night to thank him and tip in cash. Since then, you two would talk in your doorway briefly, mostly keeping your friendship to text as you were both busy. After a year of limited in person social interaction, any casual conversation over your threshold was greatly accepted. One day soon you’d venture outside, but with the availability to have nearly everything delivered, you doubted that day would come soon. You just weren’t ready.
Soon you ditched the app and just text him when you wanted dinner and he dropped it off to you. The price for you didn’t change, but gave him some extra. You honestly didn’t know why he chose to deliver food; he was always dressed extremely nicely in name brand clothes and you later found out he has a lucrative position at Stark Industries.
Once you had asked him why he chose to do this, in the literal rain and snow, and he told you that it was something to do. He got bored often and it was better than sitting in a lab all night. He made it seem like he did this for several people, but you didn’t see how he had the time to.
In the middle of scrolling on your phone, there’s a slow delay in registering what you’re seeing. Shaking your head and blinking hard, the sensation didn’t go away. Your body seemed to relax as a deep buzz set in and your body movements sluggish. Bringing the fork up to your mouth for another bite, you missed completely, the rice pilaf dropping onto the table. You tried for another bite and this time succeeded.
Are you... high?
You tasted the mineral chalkiness before you noticed the white powder poorly mixed into your rice pilaf. Brain fuzzy, you tried to analyze the substance. Thinking it strange, you drank from your take out cup of soda to wash it down. It became harder to swallow each sip, but you had already finished half the meal.
A knock at your door echoes through the wood. Each footstep towards the door bounces between your ears. Struggling with the lock, you finally got it open, your legs almost numb and your arms heavy. On the other side of the threshold stands Peter, his hood over his head, eyes assessing you through his lashes as his head angles down.
“Pete?”
You feel his arms around you before the whoosh registers in your head. Blinking hard, you are lying on your back, limbs heavy. Some time must have passed, but you can’t be sure.
“I’ve got you,” he whispered from above you. “I think I gave you too much.”
Struggling to keep your eyes open, a shiver blankets your skin. You let out a whine when your tongue refuses to curl with your words. It lies heavy, your jaw loose as you slur out questions.
“Peter?” You try again. Your question is slurred and there’s a pitched whine to your voice.
“Shhh, this is for your own good.”
“Mmph” you mumble, unsure if you actually feel hurt right now at this moment. Your movements are heavy and slow, like running through water. Your back is against something soft that smells like your fabric softener. Your bed. When did you get here?
“I’ve wanted you for so long. Now I can finally have you.” His hands seem to be frantic as he pulls your shorts from your hips and down your thighs before discarding them. Is he frantic or is this normal speed? His coat is gone and he pulls his hoodie over his head, his shirt stuck inside it. He’s next to you a fraction of a moment later
His warm hands graze your hips as he pulls the oversized shirt off of you, the crack of static electricity sparking from your hair as it's pulled through the collar in your ears. His hand gently rests your head back down on the pillow. You whine again and try to cover your bare chest with your small hands. He notices and pulls them away.
“You’re so beautiful,” he reassures, mistaking your modesty for insecurity. He’s lying on top of you now, chest to chest. The heat of his bare skin as he presses into you, his hands tracing the shape of your waist and hips. He seems to be mesmerized.
“We can’t-” you want to scream, but even you aren’t sure your thoughts matched what came out of your mouth. Your hands try to push him off of you, but he’s too solid, too in control. When that doesn’t work, you slap his chest, but you don’t really feel the impact on your palm. You’re too numb. He grabs your wrist.
“I don’t use my hands to harm and you won’t either.” He says this firmly, eyes locked on yours, but follows up with, “Behave or I’ll have to tie you up so you don’t hurt yourself.” The latter comes out softer, more timid like the Peter you know.
His head dips down as he places sloppy, unpracticed open mouth kisses on your neck and shoulder. Quickly this turns into full sucking. You angle your chin to the side, scanning your nightstand for something, anything to help you. You eye a book, hardcover, heavy hand reaching up to grab for it. Maybe you can hit him hard enough to buy time.
Peter catches your movement and lets out an irritated, though shaky, sigh as it leaves his lips. “What did I say?”
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small, silver device. He grabs both of your arms and places each palm on an iron bar on the headboard before a white, sticky, material shoots from it and seals your hands to it. You pull, but they don’t budge. He tosses it aside and slides down your body as you fight against your restraints.
The cool air brushes against you where your panties were. Vision unfocused, try to reconcile the split image of him and merge it into one. It’s dim in here, but it looks like he has your panties in his fingers as he tosses them aside. He lowers himself to his forearms, eyes never leaving your face. Or you think he’s looking at your face.
His nose brushes against your slit, tentatively, as you flinch. Your tongue is motionless in your mouth, but feels swollen, like it will suffocate you. All the things you want to say are being swallowed in your constricted throat.
His tongue pokes out as you manage to shake your head a fraction bit side to side. It probes your folds, uncertain. It takes him a few attempts, but he seems to find a technique he likes. The flat of his tongue swiping up as he breaks eye contact and his eyes roll back, indulged in the taste of you.
The sight of him enthralled in your most delicate region forces a squeak from you. His eyes snap open and his hands grip your hips a bit harder as he dives his mouth onto you. Seemingly encouraged by your noises and movements.
“You taste so good, baby.” He says, breathless, before he dives back in. Suddenly, his mouth finds your clit and he flicks his tongue against it hard. It’s too much pressure and it has you wriggling, brow furrowed.
He seems to notice this, because he modifies and begins sucking on your clit instead. A shock wave is sent through you, your hips angle up to meet his mouth eagerly. Taking this as a sign to continue, he inserts two fingers inside you, stretching your hole.
Quivering, you try to fight off the orgasm building, thighs clenching his head. He seems superhuman as his fingers never cease their rhythmic curling inside you and his mouth sucks the life from you. Whatever he gave you makes it impossible for you to take deep breaths and the orgasm that drenches your body in sweat steals the air from your lungs. He slows his motions as you ride his fingers and mouth before slowly removing both from you.
He seems proud of himself as he says, “I’ve always wanted to do that to you.” It’s almost endearing, but then you remember you’re drugged and bound.
Stalking you like the prey you are, he crawls up your body and slides his pants and briefs off his hips. He’s already hard as you try to focus your vision on him. Unable to tell how thick he is, you wonder if it will hurt. Perhaps if he caused you pain, your body would snap and find the adrenaline you need to get away. You pull against the bars again, hoping to break free. In the very least, your head lulls side to side in protest.
“I didn’t bring a condom, but we don’t need to worry about that. I’ll always take care of you.” He says, his forearm resting next to your head while his other hand reaches down, lining himself up with you. He pushes forward, breaching your entrance. Removing his hand, it moves to cup your head in his hand, sound muffled as he presses his palm hard against your skull.
Unable to move your head as he cradles it, your eyes flutter, unable to make him out clearly. His eyes penetrate yours, his eyes a deeper brown than you noticed before. His lips are parted as he catches his breath.
He slowly pushes forward, inch by inch. Your wet channel stretches and forms to him as he slips inside you. Despite the heaviness in your limbs and numbing to your skin, you can feel how your body accommodates him. The feeling of him is amplified by his heavy breathing in your ear as he pulls back and slams back into you.
“Fuck, you’re tight.” You try to tune him out, the only thing you really focus on is the wet sound of your slick as he draws more from you. Your body operates on sensation alone and all you can feel is him. He finds a rhythm that seems inhumanly fast as his hips push yours into the mattress harder and harder.
He presses his chest against yours again and you can’t tell whose body temperature is higher. The desire within you builds. Fighting through the haze, you cry out, spine arching off the bed. The fabric is damp beneath your hips and you wish you could be embarrassed by it.
Both of your breaths grow louder, more frantic. On particular thrusts when he tilts his hips. the tick of his cock angles up to hit your g spot, you let out a moan. Encouraged by this, the corner of his mouth lifts into a cocky smile.
“Louder, baby.” He commands breathlessly, seeming to find his courage.
He lifts his chest from yours and kneels, his hands lifting your hips up with him, your ass no longer on the bed. Grabbing for your ankles, hooking your heels over his brawny shoulders, he slams back into you. His forearm wraps around your shins, holding them in place while his opposite fingers find your sensitive clit. Letting out breathless gasps, you can’t catch your breath or restrain your vocal cords. He continues plowing into you, fingers rubbing diagonally, frantically, against you.
“Come for me, Y/N. Soak my cock.” Something about this version of Peter, this feral side of the sweet delivery guy you thought you knew, makes you come again. Eyes rolling back, your lids closing as his hips become frantic. He squeezes your legs like a lifeline as he comes inside you, a loud grunt from above you.
He pulls out of you and lowers your hips to the bed. The euphoria sets in and your taught muscles relax into the bed. Leaning over you and he connects his nose with yours as he catches his breath. You’re both hot, a thin layer of sweat over your skin, but that could be from whatever he gave you. Your shoulders are stiff and you try to tug again on the headboard.
“Oh,” he chuckles, “those will dissolve soon.”
Abruptly, he gets up, wiping his cock against the inside of your panties, before he slips them back on and settles them on your hips. His come drips out of you and into the panties, keeping you wet and reminded of him. How did this happen? You never let anyone inside the safety of your home.
Moments pass as you process this. Faintly, you hear his feet on the carpet before he’s back in your room, sipping on the soda he brought you.
“Thirsty?” He asks and angles the straw to your mouth.
“My shoulders hurt,” you murmur out.
“Then next time don’t fight me. I think you understand that now, don’t you?”
Even without touching you, he is still inside of you. There is a faint pulsing from your clit that radiates down to the soles of your feet. Rhythmic and matches your pulse as you come down. Your arms and thighs goosebump from the chill in the air and you can feel the balloon in your head deflate. But you’re still unable to respond to him so you lie there, surrendering to his power over you.

Professor Y/L/N was grading papers on a late afternoon in her office when a knock sounded from the door. She didn’t hear it at first because of the focus she currently had on the essay she’s grading but when the knock came again, she looked up and shouted a soft ‘come in’ towards the faceless knocker.
Peter Parker came in with his usual friendly yet shy smile. His shoulders were stiff and his head was tilted downward as if it’s a crime to visit his professor at that time. “Mr. Parker! What can I help you with?” she points at the chair in front of her desk, motioning for him to take a seat with a friendly smile. A smile that he always loved, a smile that he’ll forever love and he’ll do anything to wake up to that smile every single day. He wants to be the reason for that smile. He wasn’t that much younger than his professor. It’s also his last year so the idea of them being together wouldn’t be that taboo. He’ll have her sooner than later.
“Peter?” her soft voice interrupted his thoughts and he felt his heart flutter at the genuine look of worry that appeared on her face. Another trait he loves about her. So thoughtful and caring. He could give her the same thing if she’d just let him.
“Umm… yeah. Sorry for interrupting you but I just wanted to ask about the essay I submitted. I didn’t have much time to write it so it might seem a bit rushed and senseless,” he lets out a sad sigh before looking up at her thoughtful eyes before continuing. “I just wanted to ask if there’s a way I can fix it? I can do some extra work for extra credits. I just don’t want it to affect my final grade. I totally understand if you refuse tho—” he was rambling at that point and the professor cut him off by reaching across her desk and grasping both of his shoulders with her small hands before shaking him gently. “Relax, Peter. You’re not interrupting anything. As for your essay, I’m currently reading it and it’s not as senseless as you say it is and it doesn’t seem rushed at all. Don’t tell anyone I said this but this is the best essay I’ve read so far,” she gives him a cheeky smile and a wink before handing him the paper that had a huge red letter ‘A+’ on the upper right corner of it.
Peter sat frozen on the chair. From the moment she touched his shoulder up to the moment that their fingers brushed when she handed him his paper, not to mention the wink she just gave him. He couldn’t believe what he’s seeing right now. Is she flirting with him? Not being able to hold back any longer, he shoves the paper inside his backpack before lunging towards her and grabbing the back of her neck to gently push her towards his face.
“Peter—” she was cut off by his lips pressing against hers in a hungry kiss. Her hands found their way back to his shoulders, trying to push him away but he was stronger than her and the grip on the back of her neck just got tighter. Peter moaned through her lips as he plunged his tongue inside her mouth, tasting her. The whimper she let out went straight towards Peter’s cock. He grinds his hips against her desk and this time, she was able to push him off.
Her eyes were wide and terrified as she watched one of her students in front of her with reddened and plumped lips staring back at her. He tries to walk around the desk and towards her but she steps away and raises an arm as if to keep the distance between them. “Mr. Parker, that was very inappropriate. We could both get in big trouble and you’re almost done with college, you wouldn’t want to—” she was cut off by Peter slamming her hand down her desk, producing a loud bang to echo around the office.
“I don’t care about any of those things! Y-you like me! Maybe not as much as I like you but there’s something between us! I can sense it! Tell me you do too!” he quickly reached out for her wrists, pulling her closer towards his chest. She struggles in his grasp as she tries to pull her hands away from him. “Keep your voice down, Mr. Parker. You’re out of your mind—”
“You flirted with me!” he hisses, eyes becoming glossy every moment that passes by. “Y-you touched me, gave me a suggestive smile, and even winked at me! You clearly have feelings for me too!” his voice sounded like a child begging for something.
The professor’s eyes widened in shock and terror. The way he announced her actions towards him a few seconds ago was exaggerated and tampered with to make her sound like a child molester. He made her sound like she was seducing him when all she did was be friendly towards him to help him calm down from his upcoming panic attack due to his unending rambling.
“You got it all wrong, Mr. Parker—” she starts but gets cut off by a now fuming Peter Parker.
“Will you stop fucking calling me that?!” his eyes were dark as he stared down at her but it softened when he saw her flinch at his actions.
“Please stop calling me like that. Stop acting as if I’m just another student. Please don’t act like you weren’t making moves on me.” he breathes heavily and desperately reaches for her hands once more. The professor’s eyes popped out of its sockets as her student mentioned another jab at her innocence. She was certainly not making moves on her. He’s manipulating the story and they both know it.
“I’m afraid I no longer have time for this nonsense. I’ll have to ask you to leave, Mr. Parker.” when he didn’t make any effort to move, she slammed a binder down her desk before motioning towards the door.
“Now!”
Tumblr media
After that incident with Peter Parker, Professor Y/L/N didn’t get to see the said student again. Even if he failed to attend the remaining classes before graduation, he’ll still be able to pass because of all the previous marks he’s got in her subject. She didn’t even know why he took up her subject. He was taking biophysics and she teaches literature. Remembering the incident that took place a few weeks ago, she somehow had an idea as to why a biophysics student was taking her classes.
She couldn’t deny that she was thankful for his absence because it gave her relief and time to think. It also gave her the sense of safety from his manipulation and somehow the blackmail he’s got on her. It’s not really valid blackmail but she didn’t like the idea of having to talk to the authorities about it. She didn’t appreciate inconveniences.
Seems like luck isn’t on her side because as she was walking home from a late night at the office, a knife found its way towards her side as an arm looped its way across her neck. “Make a sound and I’ll plunge this knife deep into your fucking skin,” the knife pressed harder on her side and she lets out a whimper in pain. “Now be a good little lady and hand me your bag,” he didn’t even wait for her to hand it to him as he already plucked it out of her grasp. He pushes her away from him and she sighed in relief until he reaches for his back pocket before pointing a gun at her.
“Wouldn’t want you to tell the cops about me now, do we?” he cocks the gun before grinning at her terrified and tearful eyes. Well, so much for not liking inconveniences.
A small whipping sound was heard and she watched as a bunch of what seemed like white goo stuff stuck its way towards the barrel of the gun before flying out of the perpetrator’s hand.
“Pointing a gun at an innocent lady isn’t nice, dude,” a flash of red whips past her peripheral view before soft thump land in front of her and the back of spiderman himself fills her vision. He skillfully dodges the man’s jabs with the previous knife before stealing it with his web slingers as he did with the gun. He easily knocks the guy out with one punch. The hero turns around to face the professor before handing her bag back.
She managed to whisper a quiet thanks before gasping when he grabs a hold of her waist in a gentle manner. “Fuck! You’re bleeding!” he says through his mask, making you look down at your white blouse only to see a patch of red liquid staining it. That douchebag actually managed to penetrate the knife deeper than she thought. Her vision darkened at the sight of her own blood and she stumbled towards a nearby wall for support. The hero was quick to help her, moving an arm around her back before bending down to grasp the back of her knees to lift her up.
“Hold on. Stay awake for me, please. I’ll take care of you,” his voice was somehow familiar but she blamed it on the loss of blood she’s currently experiencing. A situation that she was somewhat thankful for because if she wasn’t trippy from the loss of blood, she would be freaking out because spiderman was swinging through buildings while her arms were absentmindedly gripping around his neck for dear life. She didn’t get to see much more because she found herself being lulled to sleep by exhaustion.
The hero looks down at her before cursing under his breath. “Shit! We’re almost there. Please, just hold on a little longer,” he curses as he felt her grip around his neck loosening. He uses one hand to support her weight and pulls her body closer against his, avoiding her wound as much as possible and using his other arm to swing them both through the buildings.

The professor felt pain before she could even open her eyes. She lets out a grunt before trying to sit up when a pair of hands helped her up. Her eyes widened in realization as she remembered the events before she passed out. Her eyes were met with white ones as she came face to face with spiderman. She looks down to see her side patched up and bandaged. She looks back up to her hero before whispering out a ‘thank you’ with a shy smile and turning her face back down to inspect the bandage.
She felt a soft touch under her chin before coming face to face with the hero once more. “You really scared me there, Y/N,” his voice fills the small space between them and her eyes widened at the sound of her name coming out of the hero’s mouth. “Y-you know who I a-am?” she stutters as her eyes flickered towards the hero’s other hand that was reaching under his mask.
The professor tries to look away but her face was kept in place by the hero’s hand as he continues to lift his mask up with his other hand. “What are you doing?” her smooth small voice asks and his heart palpitates at being able to hear her voice again. “I’m showing you that I trust you and I want you to trust me as well,” he continued to lift the mask off until his face was no longer a secret.
“P-peter?” she stared gawked at him and he looked at her with a big smile on his face. “You don’t know how happy you make me feel by simply saying my name,” he moves the hand that was on her chin to caress the side of her face. “You don’t know how scared I was when you passed out on my arms. I could never forgive myself if something worse happened to you,” he leans in to press his forehead against hers.
“Peter, this is wrong. I’m your professor,” she pulls his hand away from her face before standing up and walking a few steps away from him, an action that made him frown. “Why do you think I stopped going to your classes?” he stands up to walk towards her, reaching for her hand as he did back at her office. “I figured that you were holding back from me because you couldn’t bear the idea of being taboo but you see—” he pushes her gently until she the back of her knees hit the bed, forcing her to plop on the bed. “I’m no longer taking your classes so that means I’m no longer your student! There’s nothing else in the way!” his face was cheerful as a kid opening presents on Christmas but the professor’s reaction was the opposite of his.
“T-that doesn’t count. This is still wrong! This is just a stupid crush!” she was getting frustrated with his lack of understanding and it was really starting to show. Peter’s cheery face turned into a frown as well. “You know, I really don’t appreciate it when you shout at me. I let it pass the first time when you did back in your office but now? Now you’re just being really rude. I also don’t appreciate how you’re belittling my feelings for you. I fucking love you and you’re about to learn that. You know, you should be glad that I didn’t report your advances on me. Imagine how the dean would react when one of his pride and joy was being seduced by one of his professors?” he smirks at her reaction, eyes wide in disbelief along with horror at his words. He leans down towards her face before brushing her hair away from her face.
“If I wasn’t following you around to make sure you’re safe all the time, a bullet would’ve pierced through your head,” he brushes her forehead gently before smiling at her and raising an eyebrow. “If that isn’t true love then I don't know what is,” he raises an eyebrow when she shakes her head. “You’re not thinking straight, Peter. You can’t love me! Y-you’re just confused. Me being here isn’t right! I can’t be here!” she tries to stand but he pushes her back on the bed with a little bit of force this time.
“I told you how I don’t appreciate you shouting, Y/N,” his voice was taunting as he gently pushed on her shoulder until her back was pressed against the mattress. He crawls up her body until his elbows are pressed on the sides of her head. “I also hate it when you keep saying how my love for you isn’t real. It’s fucking real! I know that because I’m the one feeling it!” he shouts at her face leaning down to press his lips against her. She pushes on his chest but when he refuses to pull away, she bites his lip hard enough to make him pull away. Peter sits up before wiping the blood off his lips. “Not gonna lie, that was hot as fuck!” her eyes grew when he leaned back in for a kiss, immediately forcing his tongue inside her mouth and making her taste his blood through the kiss.
Peter carefully reached for the buttons of her blouse and started unbuttoning them one by one. It was a bit hard for him because his professor was squirming under him and pushing on his hands as much as she could. “Don’t move too much, you’re going to reopen your wound!” he smacks her hand away before gripping her shoulders and pushing her against the mattress. “Don’t do this!” she cried out as she watched his eyes get darker as his pupils dilate. His hands found its way to her face, his palm covering both her nose and her mouth, making it hard for her to breathe. “I don’t know how many times I should tell you that I don’t like it when you shout at me so I’m going to teach you a lesson. Isn’t that cool? You used to be the one teaching me a lot of things but now, I’ll be the one to do so!” he laughs before pressing his palm harder against her face. “If you keep on shouting, I would have to cover this pretty mouth of yours and I don’t like doing that because I love seeing your whole face but if you keep shouting at me, I wouldn’t have a choice,” he watches her eyes as it starts to tear up and kisses the ones that decided to fall.
Her hands were scratching his arms, silently begging for a chance to breathe again but he didn't budge. When her attempts to pull his arms away gets weak, he softens his hold against her so she could take a few breaths only to be stopped by his hardening grip against her face again. Her feet were going wild under his weight and her arms were scratching harder on his arms. Making a swift motion towards her hands, Peter had her wrists stuck to the headboard with his spider webs in a blink and he grins when he finds her completely frozen under him.
“Isn’t this so much better?” his grin turned into a frown when he saw her face covered with tears, making him breathe out a sigh. “Do you promise not to shout at me again?” he looks at her with hopeful eyes, eyes that she used to think of as innocent and beautiful brown orbs but now they are going to be the eyes that will forever haunt her.
She nods eagerly against his hold, making his face shine in adoration before lifting his hand away from her face. She gasps for air while Peter strokes the side of her face gently. “Such a good girl,” his voice was filled with so much love that matches the glint in his eyes. “I promised that I’ll take good care of you and I’m going to do just that,” he wipes her face clean before maneuvering her body carefully until she was no longer wearing her blouse.
Peter leaned down to kiss over the bandage carefully before moving to kiss the spot under her bra. His hands gently massage her breasts over the bra before moving towards her back, gently lifting her up and skillfully unhooking her bra and tossing it to the side. He leans down to press a wet kiss on her right nipple while he massages her left one, pinching the nipple teasingly until they were erect. He repeats the motion with the other one before looking up at her to see her watching his every move. He moved up so he was kissing her lips again, moaning in delight when he felt her lips moving against his.
The professor couldn’t do anything but watch as Peter peppered her skin with kisses. He made it clear that he could ruin her career with just a snap so she decided to give him what he wanted and kissed him back, earning a low moan from him. Her only thought was the faster he gets what he wants, the quicker this nightmare would end.
One of Peter’s hands made its way under her skirt, running his fingers on the inside of her thighs before moving her underwear to the side and running a finger up and down her slit. “Hmm, so fucking wet for me,” he mumbles against her lips. He wasted no time in inserting a finger inside and curling it every time he would pull it out before inserting it again. He smiles through the kiss when she starts grinding her hips against his fingers when he adds another finger. He watches as her eyes start fluttering when he starts rubbing her clit with his thumb.
He swallowed her moans and grunts when he felt her clenching around his fingers. “Cum for me,” he hisses against her lips and pulls away from the kiss to watch her reaction as she releases her first orgasm. Her eyes were slammed shut while her mouth was slightly open. Her back arched under him while her legs shook in delight. “Such a pretty sight,” he smiles at her before moving away from her to stand in front of the bed.
Mind still foggy from the orgasm, she waits for him to do something but he continues standing at the end of the bed, watching and observing her. She wanted to cover herself so bad but her wrists remained stuck on the headboard. She watches in anticipation as his fingers start pulling her skirt down at a very slow pace followed by her underwear. Completely naked in front of him, he gets on his knees and carefully places her legs on her shoulders, his head in between her legs. He starts placing wet kisses on her skin, from the inside of her ankle to the inside of her thighs. He admires the goosebumps on her skin before placing a kiss on her sensitive bud.
Her body jumps at the sensation of his tongue licking their way up her wet slit. His soft laugh causes air to hit her sensitive cunt making her gasp at the feeling. He starts lapping on her wet cunt, groaning in delight at the taste of her juices. “Taste. So. Fucking. Sweet,” he says in between kisses and laps on her slit. She loses control of the situation and starts bucking her hips up against his mouth, begging for more and that’s exactly what he gave her.
He inserts a finger while his tongue works its magic on her clit, adding another finger inside when he hears her wanton moan above him. His fingers were making wet and sloppy noises while his tongue made slurping noises against her clit. He felt her hips spasming and before he knew it, his face was wet with her juices. She let out a cry when his tongue slurped all of her juices, licking one last swipe on her slit before pulling away.
She feels a wave of embarrassment when she sees his chin glistening with her wetness and tries to look away but Peter was quick to get on top of her, gripping her chin gently to make her look back at him. “You’re fucking amazing and don’t you ever be embarrassed about it,” he kisses her lips hungrily, making her taste herself in his lips and shoving his tongue down her throat. “See? You taste so fucking delicious,” he pulls away, his voice was hoarse against her mouth, reminding her of all the things he’s done to her.
She knew he was far from getting what he wanted and she was proven correct when he situated himself between her legs before pressing a palm on his chest, making his suit fall limp on his body. He quickly steps out of the suit as he rubs his hard cock with one hand while the other hand places itself gently on her hip, pinning her body down the bed. He rubs his tip up and down her slit, mixing his precum with her juices before moving the tip to tease her clit.
The professor gulped as she felt his tip pressing against her opening before slowly slithering in only to be pulled out once the whole tip was inside her cunt. He continued to do this for a while before he couldn’t anymore, the veins on his cock were pulsating so hard, begging for him to find his release. He leans his face down to her face, pressing a kiss on her forehead and wiping some of her hair away from her face with his free hand. He places a soft kiss on her lips before plunging his hard cock inside her to the hilt, shushing her with another kiss when she hissed in pain. “I got you. Don’t worry, I got you,” he says against her lips, staying in place to let her adjust to his size when all he wanted to do was ruin her tight pussy that was currently clenching around him but he wanted her to feel great. He wanted her to love and enjoy every moment of this so he waited.
When her body started to relax against him, he pulled out before bottoming out once more that earned a loud wanton mewl from her. Grinning at her reaction, he continues the slow pace, savoring the feeling of her walls around his cock. He feels her grinding against his hips and mumbling words under her breath. “What is it? I can’t hear you,” he grins at her face. “P-please go faster,” she says a little louder and he beams at her words before slamming his hips against hers at a devious speed. The sounds of skin slapping each other fills the room and Peter moves his lips to her neck, licking and sucking and nipping at the skin until she’s a moaning mess underneath him.
“You love this? Tell me you love feeling my cock ruin this gorgeous tight pussy of yours,” he sucks harshly at the skin on her neck before pulling away to wait for her response. She looks at him with tearful eyes before nodding eagerly. “Y-yes. I love it so much!” she yelps when he places one of her legs on his shoulder before slamming into her at an even faster speed, fishing for another orgasm from her.
“Fuck!” Peter groans in pleasure when he feels her clenching tighter around him. He doesn’t let his pace waver, determined to make her cum around him. He reaches for her clit before rubbing it with a vigorous speed that earned a loud wail from her. “That’s it, Y/N. Cum for me. Please, please cum for me,” he pressed on her clit before letting out a shout when she finally cums around him, strangling his cock with her walls.
She feels her vision darken from another orgasm. Her back was still arched when she started to come down from her orgasm but Peter’s thrusts weren't stopping. He continues his penetration, grunting here and there at the feeling of her cunt pulsing around him. His elbow fell beside her face and he was looking at her with glossy eyes, begging for something. She soon finds out what it is he’s begging for when she feels his fingers on her clit once more. She tried to tilt her hips away from him but was stopped by his hand gripping his hip and pushing it down the mattress. “Just one more, please. Cum for me one last time,” he pants above her face before moving his hand back to her oversensitive clit and rubbing on it at a normal speed. It didn’t take long for her to build up another orgasm because she was already sensitive from her previous orgasms and he could feel her getting close because her walls were starting to flutter against him.
“That’s it. That’s it, Y/N. You’re doing so good for me,” he continues slamming his hips into hers and in no time, she has reached yet another orgasm. “Fuck fuck fuck. FUCK!” his eyes slammed shut as he slams his full length deep inside her cunt before spilling inside of her. He gives a few more thrusts, making sure that she’s got all of his cum before falling beside her carefully so as to not hit her wound.
He stares at her tired face and watches as her eyes slowly fall shut, falling asleep from exhaustion and he couldn’t help but smile at the view. He presses a wet kiss on her forehead before pulling her closer to his chest and falling asleep as well, his cock slowly falling limp inside her.
Tumblr media
The professor was shaken awake by a smiley Peter who was staring down at her. “Hey there, sleepyhead,” he says in a teasing tone before bending down to press a kiss on her lips and helping her stand from the bed. “Let me check on this real quick and then we can eat the breakfast I cooked for you. Does that sound great to you?” he kneels down in front of her, fumbling with her bandage before looking up at her with a raised eyebrow. She nods absentmindedly before watching him stand up after checking on her wound. He helps her put on a shirt that was probably his and a pair of sweatpants. He stepped a few steps away from her before grinning at her. “You look really cute in my clothes. Comfy really looks pretty on you,” he blushes before taking her hand and leading her out of the room and into a kitchen.
She was enveloped with the sweet smell of pancakes and she finds herself being gently pushed down on a chair while Peter places a plate that was stacked up with pancakes covered with syrup and blueberries. Peter watches her with a smile as she munches on her breakfast before munching on his own.
After a few bites, she hears the jingling of keys and looks up to see him sliding a chain of keys on the table. “W-what’s that for?” her morning voice sends an electric line straight to his cock but he ignores it before giving her a sweet smile. “Your key to our penthouse,” he states nonchalantly.
“P-penthouse? O-our?” she stutters and looks at him cautiously as he laughed at her reaction. “We don’t have to move now. It’s just something I bought with the help of Tony,” her eyes widened at the realization of him having connections with the Tony Stark. Peter Parker would be able to ruin her name easily.
“We can move after I graduate. Don’t give me that look. I’ll never do anything to hurt you. I’ll only do what’s best for you. This is just the start of our forever,” he stands up and walks over to her, helping her out of the chair before pressing a long kiss on her lips. “You deserve the best and I’ll make sure that you get just that.”

A Swing and a Hit - A Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming
Many say that the superhero movie genre is getting tired, that the market’s oversaturated and that we’ve been flooded with too many context-dependant “cinematic universes.” To a degree, this is true. It’s astounding how much you needed to know about the universes and lore behind DC Comics before seeing Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice in order to even begin to understand the movie, let alone the information provided by the context set up in Man of Steel. Legendary Pictures is now gearing up for the third installment of their “MonsterVerse,” all leading up to a climactic standoff between monster film icons Godzilla and King Kong, and Universal Studios has been trying for years to re-establish its own movie monster universe, most recently with the apparent blunder that was The Mummy. However, one cannot have the conversation about the cinematic universe craze without discussing Marvel’s own “Marvel Cinematic Universe,” or as we have all come to know it, the MCU. The MCU is set apart from its competitors however, by a number of factors. One of which is history – the fact that the MCU was built from a single superhero movie, and has been introducing new characters and elements piece-by-piece organically since 2008. Another factor is the varying “flavors” of the movies. While each story certainly feels like it shares a world with the rest, the vast majority of the films are noticeably different from the others, making each stand out well enough to make watching any one of them on its own an enjoyable experience without feeling the need to marathon them all. The last characteristic factor of the MCU is organization, with Marvel splitting its stories up into “Phases,” or groups that all build up to climactic crossovers like The Avengers, sort of like seasons of a television show; this, I have found, is the most enjoyable way to look at these films. No one gets upset about needing the context from past episodes to fully understand the season finale of their favorite prime-time sitcom, and I honestly think to continue to apply that formula in the world of film is a daring and profitable move on Marvel’s part.
Now, the latest installment in Marvel’s “cinematic television series” is Spider-Man: Homecoming, a solo flick centering around Marvel’s main posterboy, the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Many fans feel this piece has been a long time coming, with Spidey’s movie rights being held on lockdown for several years by Fox. After working out a deal on the rights, however, the web-slinger was able to join the party, first appearing in Captain America: Civil War. While Civil War’s context plays directly into Homecoming, the movie is not strictly required reading in order to get the general jist of the film’s plot. Peter Parker is given a new and improved spider-suit by Tony Stark and shipped back to New York City to continue his street-level super-heroics, but feels the need to prove himself capable of being a fully fledged Avenger. Tom Holland returns as Parker, bringing with him an energy that is a breath of truly fresh air to the MCU. Up until now, every hero we’ve seen has been unswervingly mature or noble or cocky or smart or something. Whatever a hero in the MCU is, they’re supremely confident and grounded in their character, making them seem always sure of whatever they’re saying or doing. Holland’s Spider-Man is able to bring a believable uncertainty to his character, always questioning his next move or the words that leave his mouth. Peter Parker is a teenager, and he’s going through a turbulent time in his life. On top of his typical puberty-ridden crises, he’s also got superheroing to worry about. Honestly, neither Toby MacGuire nor Andrew Garfield were able to bring this youthful conflict to the character, and when they did, it came off as the moans of a worker who simply didn’t like their job, because, simply put, Toby was too old and Andrew was too cool. Tom Holland has an astoundingly pretty face for 21, and has no trouble passing for a 15 year old, and he’s simply too adorable to be the cool guy. Sorry, Tom. Whatever the case, “conflicted geek kid” seemed to fit Holland like a glove. Holland’s performance was supplemented by the rest of Parker’s high-school crew, namely Jacob Batalon and Zendaya, who portray characters Ned and Michelle respectively. Neither of them are quite present enough to overtake the film, but both are able to contribute to Parker’s youthful energy enough to remind us that Peter is, in fact, a real high schooler. Part of the problem with past Spider-Man films is the lack of many school elements in Parker’s life. His relationship with others is usually limited to Aunt May and an obligatory love interest. We were never shown that Peter had a real boy’s life away from the red tights, and the simple act of giving him some friends was more than enough to ground this film in the hormone ridden halls of late childhood.
Peter is also helped along by his mentor figure, Tony Stark, continuing to be played by acclaimed actor and MCU icon, Robert Downey Jr. Before the film was released, I heard a lot of talk about from folks worrying that RDJ might steal the show. Rest assured, fellow viewers, the Armored Avenger hardly occupies the screen for ten minutes of this entire movie. I’d thank the people upstairs, too, as there is something… off… about RDJ’s performance. He comes off as a bit more calm and mature than usual, almost dad-like, which I suppose might be the angle they were going for, but it doesn’t seem to suit Stark well. In the past, Stark takes every opportunity he can to be snide and mean-spirited unless an issue is serious enough to truly upset him. Giving Peter his “son, I’m disappointed in you” talk while neither making an inappropriate joke nor raising his voice just seems very out of character for him. It seemed like Downey was given a choice to be either too hard or too soft on Peter, but chose to fall somewhere in the middle, which, while a suitable choice, didn’t seem to be quite the right one.
Speaking of old superheroes, Michael Keaton, popular within the genre for Tim Burton’s Batman and the odd commentary, Birdman, takes another center-stage role as the film’s main antagonist, Adrian Toomes, who fans will recognize as classic Spider-Man villain: The Vulture. Keaton manages to bring one of the first genuinely intimidating auras to the MCU I’ve seen. The character’s motivations are ones I’m sure we’ve all seen before, aging labor worker gets ripped off by rich folks and takes matters into his own hands by undergoing criminal activity to support his family, truly and dangerously believing he’s in the right the whole time. The difference comes once the plot twist concerning the character is shown, which I won’t spoil, but I’ll say it makes him seem all the more real as a person, somehow making him much, much scarier.
Visually, the film is largely standard MCU fare. Vibrant, bright colors, over-the-top action scenes, and interesting spins on the more mundane scenes so they never get to be boring. I suppose that there’s no need to fix what isn’t broken. One of the things that sets this movie apart from other MCU flicks is the way it does motion. Being a Spider-Man film, a great emphasis is placed on the way Spider-Man moves – fluid, not-quite erratic flips, and clever use of momentum give this film’s action scenes a very unique visual flavor. Unfortunately, not much of this is ground that hasn’t been covered in Spider-Man films made in the past. What this one does that the others did not, however, is give us a view of New York City we don’t see in a whole lot of movies. The joke is often made among comic enthusiasts, “how would Spider-Man get around if there weren’t tall buildings for him to swing around on?” Honestly, neither TV Show, comic book, nor movie have really addressed this query up till now. This film seems to make a point of showing Spider-Man in places that are not Times Square. We see Spider Man in the back alleys, and in the suburbs where we are welcomed by the familiar sights of grass, trees, and even the occasional wooden fence. Getting to see Spidey operate somewhere other than the crowded city streets was a welcome surprise.
In addition to settings, I adored the look of the outfits, especially the spider-suit. When it was first announced that Spider-Man would be joining the MCU, I was skeptical – I had been disillusioned with Spider-Man for years (which just goes to show how well Tom Holland did to bring me back). As soon as I saw the spider-suit, though, my doubts almost completely washed away. The classic look, the bright colors, the expressive eyes, everything about it was quintessentially the great Spider-Man I remembered from my childhood – with a few touches of modern flair that only helped to make the suit look even better. We also got a much better look at Peter’s old spider-suit from when he was introduced in Civil War, and I’m just as in love with it - a clever visual reference to the Scarlet Spider design from the comics that manages to be both fun to look at and functional. A third spider-suit shortly appears in the film - an ugly, armored contraption reminiscent of DC’s mislead New 52 designs that I’m so, so glad doesn’t get used. As I said before, don’t fix what isn’t broken.
The movie’s story and themes, while easy to follow, lead to a couple confusing conclusions. There is not a single reference to Uncle Ben or the line “With great power comes great responsibility” in the entire film, and while I’m glad I didn’t have to sit through Spider-Man’s origin story again, I’m a little disappointed that the very core of Spider-Man’s character was never brought up in Spidey’s first solo step into the MCU. Still, the concept of responsibility is one of the central themes of the movie… I think. The movie spends a lot of time emphasizing that Peter isn’t ready to become an Avenger because he steps outside of his boundaries and tries to solve problems that aren’t his to handle, and at the end of the film, he redeems himself by… beating the bad guy he’s been told several times not to take on? I suppose one could interpret the movie’s core message as “to achieve greatness, one must be great.” Spidey must grow as a hero to accomplish the task before him and save the day, and by acting recklessly before he was ready, he screws up pretty bad. It’s only once he’s accepted the risk and responsibility that comes with being a hero that he can show how great he truly is. It’s a simple enough conclusion to understand, I guess, but it takes some effort to get there that the movie could have easily lessened with a bit of dialogue change or shift in focus.
Still, the movie manages to tell a strong and effective story with the most relatable Spider-Man to date. I couldn’t tell you whether Spider-Man: Homecoming is the best Spider-Man film out there, but its performers certainly bring a unique and youthful presence to it and its visuals manage to meld old and new together to create an impressively fitting and engaging look at the world of everyone’s favorite webhead. With effective characters and a compelling setting, the challenge and fun of the story fall right into place – giving the movie a fantastic tone that falls somewhere between the excitement and adventure of The Avengers and the endearingly comedic romp that is Guardians of the Galaxy. Spider-Man has found himself fitting right in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I’m glad to see my friendly neighborhood hero come home.

He's your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man...
I initially thought I would not get a chance to see this at the theatres. So I felt somewhat lucky that I've been fortunate enough to see it yesterday, on the first viewing, of its premiere day(although I had to skip the 3D due to the ticket price)! Unfortunately, it wasn't that good of an experience, unpleasant even. I mean, that's what I got when I pre-ordered a ticket late in the game: I had to sit really close to the giant screen. I'm feeling the result now... exhausted watery eyes and stiff neck. Also, it's currently still school holiday, so I was seated between teenagers and kids who... either couldn't stop chomping food loudly, kept asking questions throughout the movie, or... just didn't have proper ethiquette towards older people. Gosh, that awkward moment made me feel really 'old' and 'out of place'. Thankfully, the movie itself was the complete opposite to that annoying real life situation. So in a way, well worth the patience I had to endure during the screening. Okay, enough chit-chat, let's get to the review now!
NOTE: This is a spoiler-free review. At the very least, it was written with that thought and intention in mind. So there's still a possibility that it contains some implicit spoilers. With that said, feel free to proceed cautiously, okay! *wink*
They should've called this SPECTACULAR Spider-Man. Seriously. Because it's indeed one! A movie that felt small and stand-alone, but firmly incorporated the titular character VERY nicely in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Afterall, that's what 'Homecoming' is all about, right? The movie began following the aftermath of 2012's "The Avengers", it then picked up right in the middle of last year's "Captain America: Civil War" for a brief minutes (featuring some fantastic larger-than-life cameos), before it became its own thing following the conclusion of that amazing Berlin Airport scene. And then several months later...
There's an honest good reason why Marvel Studios appointed Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker. And that's because it's going to be extremely hard to picture anyone else but him to embody both Peter and Spider-Man after seeing this movie. As proven over and over again with their movies, the studio certainly isn't messing around when it comes to casting. Holland IS Peter (not to mention a striking resemblance to young Stan Lee), and that's just one of the key ingredients that made this movie so captivating. There's an earnest youth-innocence exuberating from this version. An excitement that we haven't seen in both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's version. Not saying both were bad (theirs got pushed to adulthood too soon, I say, thanks to the actors being much older), but this one got the personality of comic book Peter in the most perfect way. Also, have I mentioned that Holland is HOT? He's so easy on the eyes, that I wouldn't doubt his Peter would make anyone (men or women, young or old) swoon. Assuming I got my memory right, I think he and his six-pack were the lenghties shirtless fan-service scene of all MCU movies so far. Thank goodness the actor's 21 years old now, otherwise that sentiment would sound really inappropriate. Pheew!
He's Peter in the most charming and geekiest way. Smart, sweet, sometimes overwhelmingly curious, but also an underdog who is ridiculed at school. Who once again reminded you, that hey, nerds CAN be true heroes too! Yes, that's the best of all! Just like the deepest inner desire that some of us shared, he's just THAT eager to become a hero. He's a dreamer, who looked up to the Avengers, and wanted to do good to be among their ranks. But being 15 years old, a student in a high school, things weren't as easy as one might think. When he has classes and after school programmes, would he even have time to be a crime fighting hero? One that placed his life on the line numerous time, while deep inside, still struggling with the sensibilities and struggles of growing up? That's what this movie succeeded to explore, making it feel... 'different' to the previous MCU movies.
The supporting characters, were also fantastic. Marisa Tomei's May Parker, was more of a sexy older sister than an elderly aunty. It's a modern change that felt just right for her, especially in this era of feminism. But as always, she was also Peter's emotional anchor. Particularly in one scene that... well, I'm not spoiling anything, but let's just say, had Holland showcased his specialty in moving dramatic performance. Those who had seen "The Impossible" would know, that Holland could really made it possible. On the other side of the table, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark played out as the kind of mentor, big brother, or surrogate father that Peter aspired to. Peter tried so hard to please his good side, and in a way, that's one of his focus in this movie. That's why his presence could be felt looming around the background. Contrary to what people assumed though, Tony wasn't in the movie that much. It was Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan who actually spent more screentime and connection with Peter. So nope, before you accuse Stark of stealing another character's movie, that's not the case. He had just about right amount of screen time, and the movie was wholly Peter's from start to end.
Jacob Batalon's Ned was a charming chubby sidekick. He's as excited as Peter, and shared a sweet chemistry with him that would make you wish you're their best friend too. Not trying to sound racist, but it's nice that we're getting another support character that's not black. I mean, that's certainly a pattern in the first two Phase of the MCU, right? Laura Harrier's Liz was the love interest, who as always, ended up becoming a damsel in distress at some point in the movie. Zendaya's Michelle on the other hand, was the weird girl who's out and about, and seemed to be tailing Peter for... unknown personal reason. She didn't have much to do, but likely because she's being set up for expanded involvement in the sequel(s). Tony Revolori's Flash was Pete's bully, but not in the way you think. He's a modern-type 'hater' who harrassed people with words and attitude, and not through muscle. And then there were other minor characters, filling up the school as either students (Abraham Attah, Tiffany Espensen, Michael Barbieri, etc) or teachers (Martin Starr, Selenis Leyva, Hannibal Buress, Kenneth Choi, etc), building up a truly diverse looking environment. It might feel like a crowded cast, but really, most of them only had small participation in this movie. But you know what I really love about the portrayal of this high school? That in a technology-based MCU, science IS the cool thing. For crying out loud, even the cool kids were the smart achiever ones, and the Academic Decathlon's its MVP! Unlike the typical high schools we saw in various TV shows (filled with actors sometimes too old to be students), this one personally felt more at home. Looking familiarly similar to the place I've went to all those years ago, it sure didn't take a while before nostalgia slowly kicked in.
One might argue that the villains weren't really 'that threatening' here. Particularly the Shockers: Logan Marshall-Green's Jackson Brice and/or Bokeem Woodbine's Herman Schultz. They felt like lower-tier 'bad guys', especially when compared to say... Ultron, or Loki, with their global-level annihilation ambitions. Nevertheless, Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes was a truly intimidating antagonist, who would conquer the scene with his chilling presence. He firmly sit as one of the best MCU antagonist we got so far, just NOT the way you might think. In a strangely relatable way, situation somehow forced him to be one, placing him on the other side of the law. Not just him, but his crew as well, because most of them couldn't even be considered 'evil'. There's a moral ambiguity of why Toomes did what he did, an amazing angle that made him different to previous bad guys. You'll particularly see about this during the third arc. I sure would love to see more of him in the future, but Keaton's only contracted for one movie so far. Beside, without being too oblivious, there's a high possiblity that Michael Mando's character will be taking that spotlight in the sequel. Likely alongside Michael Chernus' Phineas Mason, who was the technical-brain of the Vulture.
Thanks to these antagonists, the action-pieces, while making such grandiose spectacles as usual, felt different this time around. It was intense, nervewracking, and many other emotions I couldn't describe. Surprisingly, it put me on the edge of my seat most of the time, due to how personal and sometimes intimate they were. There's a desperation in these scenes that made my heart racing, a sensation that strangely reminded me of that last battle on "Civil War". Perhaps because this Spider-Man is young, and that he made honest mistakes that led him into trouble instead? Or because his life and those around him was truly put in jeopardy every single time, as if jumping straight into a tank full of sharks? A real sense of danger? I couldn't tell. One thing for sure, you might think you've seen it all from the trailers (which are still best avoided, IMHO), but there's way more to that. I can assure you, the complete sequences were still unexpected and shocking to watch.
In the end, just like James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" that arrived three months ago, the sensation of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" was a little difficult to properly describe. Both movies had some jokes and humors that didn't land with the audience I was with, but mostly because they were lost in translation. "Vol. 2" felt personal to me, but "Homecoming" also felt relatable in many ways. It's all kinds of emotions, a roller-coaster as one would expect from an MCU movie. And this movie was a down-to-earth adventure for the web slinger, that's still loaded with plenty of surprises one after another, big or small. It even saved one really GOOD one at the closing minutes of the movie!
Devoted Marvel fans will be thrilled with how Spider-Man is perfectly captured, while gleefully scavenging those many easter eggs sprinkled throughout the movie. Ones that connected to the larger MCU, or those teasing what might be coming ahead (Angourie Rice's Betty Brant and Donald Glover's Aaron Davis, to name a few). Meanwhile, general audience will be delighted to see this, as a genuine high school movie disguised as a superhero one. A coming-of-age movie, where its lead character learns to deal with the challenges of being young, his lack of experience, responsibilities of being a hero, and the cost of trying to do good. As shown by Peter's powerful decisions in several key scenes of the third arc, it's also a movie that reminded its young (both by age or at heart) viewers to never lose sight of what's important: kindness and compassion. All I can tell is, that director Jon Watts truly nailed this movie, and now I can't wait to see him progressing with the same 'everyday hero' magic in the upcoming sequel (set for 2019).
The collaboration between Marvel Studios and SONY to include Peter Parker in the MCU was like a dream come true to Marvel fans. More than that, it truly has been proven to be THE right decision. Here's hoping they will further extend this wonderful deal to the future, because I honestly feel, Spider-Man is where he's supposed to be. HOME...
Overall Score: 8,5 out of 10 PS: It's common sense for an MCU movie, that there will be post-credit scenes. And as publicly reported, this movie had two, with one of them teasing for the sequel. That second one, though?! Dang it... it's a sweet 'cap off' that will leave you smiling as you walk out of the theatres. Seriously, don't miss out on that! LOL.
