The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club by Sophie Green
Tumblr media
Read time: 5 Days Rating: 4/5 Stars
The Quote: 'It's funny, isn't it?' she said. 'How we find out more from books than we do from life sometimes?' Sybil thought of the books she'd read over the course of her life: as a child; during snatched hours while she was between shifts at the hospital; late at night when her boys were babies and she couldn't sleep for worrying about those precious new lives that were her responsibility. Those books had been her escape and her solace; from them she had learnt how to be a woman and wife and a parent, more than she had from any humans. 'Books give us the benefit of a lot of people's experiences,' she said slowly. 'They give us more options to choose from - more ways to live - than we could ever find on our own.' — Kate and Sybil
Due to the seasonal changes in the Northern Territory, wet season and dry season there is a bit of an odd flow to the writing in the book. Because of the breaks in the weather and the inaccessibility of Fairvale during the wet season The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club is written in four parts divided by year. 1978 runs from p1 to 167, 1979 from p141 to 256, 1980 from p259 to 366 and 1981 from p369 to 416. The sections are broken up by a page of significant events from that year, from political to societal to slightly more gossipy. They are great for people like me who weren't born in the 70s or who are too young to remember. At least some of them are woven into the narrative allowing the reader to understand when about in the year Fairvale is.
There are some highly contrasting romantic relationships in this book. Sibyl and her husband Joe are the easiest to note. They've been married for such a long time. What started as a marriage of convenience has become a marriage of true love and loyalty. There is a gorgeous quote that basically personifies their relationship... "'Racy!' Joe hit the table with one hand. 'stone the bloody crows! I can't have my innocent little wife talking about a racy book.' His eyes were teasing her and she started to laugh. They are basically the stable couple. The couple you wish you could be. Her son and daughter and law are Kate and Ben.
Reasonably early on Kate has a miscarriage. Her husband, Ben's reaction is so lovely. It's a brilliant counterbalance to the apathy/ volatility of Mick. Bens reacts in a similar way to my cousin's husband after her miscarriages (including one perilously close to Christmas). It's human and shared grief while not betraying base personality traits. In this case, Ben is down to earth and very much a she'll be right kinda guy. Whereas Kate is English and still living in a time where she has been raised to believe that motherhood is everything, you aren't fulfilling your duty if you don't have a child. (Honestly, we're only just getting past that now)
Almost the exact opposite of this couple is the aforementioned Mick and Sallyanne. Sallyanne is at least part of the reason for the Fairvale Ladies Book Club. This is easily the most volatile relationship in the book, the most problematic, the type that anyone would tell the woman to leave if they saw it. Mick is simply put psychologically abusive and negligent towards his children (two boys in school and a toddler daughter). Look as someone who was raised in a psychologically abusive household it just feels like it's written well. It's not designed to be triggering to those that use this kind of fiction as an escape more a reminder that we have more opportunity than our mothers and forebears perhaps. Giving us the opportunities to live the lives they could not. Sallyanne's story has such a positive trajectory, so much hope and a demonstration of the power of female friendship.
I'm going to combine Rita and Della's stories. At 48 Rita has given up on getting married, she works as a nurse for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Also large interested in marriage is Della much younger, an American and the unicorn of the bunch, a female stockman. She is unusual in quite a few ways not least of all her blindness to race. To her, Australia is a fresh start, a place to be her away from the pressures of cattle country in Texas and her family. Their stories are about finding love rather than deciding what to do with it. Rita with her doctor Hamish, Della with stockman Stan. Della and Stan are just so adorable together. They are young and in love. It is work noting that Stan is Indigenous and this would be where period-appropriate racism comes in. I'll leave it at that. Rita and Hamish have an endearing and mature relationship. I appreciate it as a contrast to the other relationships.
But where the book shines is their friendships with each other. Kate and Della, the strangers in a strange land, with their bonding over the otherness of the Northern Territory compared to where they came from, England and Texas respectively. They are adorable, the besties they didn't know they needed. Sibyl and Rita with their 30-year friendship spanning two states and career changes. Sallyanne and Rita with Rita as the biggest supporter in the push for Sallyanne to leave Mick. Kate and Sibyl becoming so much closer as in-laws, as would be required in the outback in the 70s.
The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club has a distinctly odd, almost bittersweet (though not quite) ending. So much joy for Kate and Sallyanne. Hope and pain for Rita, though I wish we'd seen all of what was promised for her story. It's kind of a middling ending for Sibyl, which I find odd because if it is any one person's story it is hers. Lastly Del oh Della has the worst ending and for her, I wanted to cry. There is a great character and relationship development. Unfortunately, Della kinda fell off the radar for months at a time this is either good writing knowing when she would be reachable during the wet/ dry seasons. Or lack of knowing what to do with her. I'd prefer to think of it as good writing. The men of Fairvale are so gracious and gentlemanly. I appreciate them. This is about the women, not the men. The worst of them is Mick, deliberately written that way to make the others shine. That said he is empowering Sallyanne in a way. Mick is delusional and I recognise him as a series of tropes.
Included in the book are some prompts for reading groups and a list of titles mentioned in the book and why. I'll include them here though not the why. They were really good choices for the characters in the book and their circumstances.
The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough
Love in a Cold Climate by Nancy Mitford — I really want to read more books by the Mitfords. They may be more than slightly problematic.
Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay
The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye
The Harp in the South by Ruth Park
My Brilliant Career by Miles Franklin
A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford — Oh this looks so promising as a read.
The Group by Mary McCarthy
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie by May Gibbs — The ultimate Australian classic for children.
The Complete Stories by Flannery O'Conner
The Poetry of A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson
We of the Never Never by Mrs Aenes (Jeannie) Gunn
I quite enjoyed this. It uses language and people well to tell stories. It's not the best but not the worst. It does showcase female friendship and Australia/ the Northern Territory well. There are of course some flaws but those exist in all books. Some warnings when you go into this. The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club includes a miscarriage, domestic abuse, child negligence and period-appropriate racism.

Some information about our dear Gävle goat <3
It will be finished on friday and have an inauguration ceremony on sunday
The Goat commitee have decided to build it in the same, new place as last year
This means unfortunately that it has higher surveillance as it's located closer to central Gävle and nearby buildings
BUT it's also located nearby the local bars and in my experience getting drunk = desire to burn goat increases by 300%
It was last burnt down in 2021, so a modern burning is far from impossible
Interestingly many of the last few goat-burners have been from outside of town, the consensus seems to be that Gävle citisens don't want the goat to burn and everyone else in the world want arson
The consequenses of burning the goat have become more and more dire. In 2015 a man was charged and had to pay 80 000 SEK, while 2021 year's perpetrator had to pay 109 000 SEK, but also serve 6 months in prison
I cannot stress enough how much Gävle city begs the community to not burn the goat which makes the continual burning even funnier
And lastly, apparently they burn it anyway in a "secret place" when the goat survives, so in my opinion the city would really cash in on having a public burning of the goat on like new years day or something.
That's all, embrace arson, good bye.

Biden's Dystopian Inauguration - 1/20/2021
To put into context the event THREE YEARS AGO TODAY. Put us on a track that NOBODY EVER SHOULD FORGET!
NEVER FORGET...."more people at the West Palm Beach Airport than at the White House". NOBODY is at the Capitol. America's Voice.news Joe Biden’s JAN 20 2021 dystopian Inauguration- A Bizarre Scene from this reporting agency.. from MJTruth today.
Nobody should ever forget the total FRAUD and the TAKEOVER of our National Heritage. It has been a CON since the beginning. And WE THE PEOPLE deserve better.
AND TRUMP KNOWS EVERYTHING.
Who what and most importantly Why. The real meaning that most of us know by now.. was meant as POWER and CONTROL that we all must fight to correct.

Jie jie what is the devil judge and should I watch it
why would y'all give me a reason to scream over tdj, i'm still recovering.....
SO this show is from like 2021 so like a lot of y'all have probably already watched this, but for those of you who haven't and want to suffer, this post is for you because jiejie loves you 😘
what: modern kdrama // completed // 16 eps, roughly 50 mins each where: netflix // viki why: this was sold to me like this (verbatim) - think eat the rich courtroom shenanigans with morally grey judge who is also extremely hot
little bit of background - setting is in a dystopian, post-pandemic south korea. to instil faith in the judiciary, they've basically reality-showed court proceedings. viewers can vote to sentence the defendants through an app. this Live Court is presided by:
JUDGE #1 - the morally grey but extremely hot judge in question, kang yohan
Tumblr media
where do i even START with kang yohan. unloved (unwanted, really) second son of a rich family. his terrible dad used to keep him in the basement, and was v abusive, but he had a brother he loved and loved him v much. inherited the family fortune when his brother and sister-in-law died in a tragic fire (the circumstances of the fire is......sus). lives in a huge ass mansion with his niece (elijah💕) who for the better part of the show is shown to suspect he killed her parents for their fortune. kind of a vigilante (except self-serving, mostly).
this is the star of the Live Court, makes essentially all the decisions, mostly without much consultation with his associate judges, which procedurally is not right, but you'll v soon learn that kang yohan does not give a fuck about the rules, and will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal of taking the social responsibility foundation (SRF; basically a foundation run by the elite rich of the country driven by public donations) down.
JUDGE #2 - also somewhat morally grey and also hot associate judge, kim gaon
Tumblr media
sweet boy. just wants to Do Things Right. starts off a stickler for rules. he's introduced as being put on the Live Court panel by his mentor to watch over kang yohan and to stop him when he makes extreme decisions (which kyh being kyh does on the daily). lost his parents when he was still in high school because a fraudster scammed his parents of their live savings. is huge on Justice.
this boy is extremely suspicious of kang yohan, and sets about investigating him with the intention of p much revealing his crimes. somehow gaon goes from that to uhhhh living at kang yohan's house, becoming elijah's adopted dad, making dinner for them??? WELL. all for the investigation, right?? gaon sacrifices so much for justice, what a good boy.
JUDGE #3 - a lot less morally grey but still extremely hot associate judge oh jinjoo
Tumblr media
MY GIRL 💖 we (tragically) don't see enough of judge oh but she's Righteous, really earnest, super For The People, and a lot smarter than she plays off to be. huge kang yohan fangirl (same, 언니, same). used to sit in a more rural court, and this is her first time in the limelight. is ambitious, but not so much that she will put innocent people in harm's way.
(side note: as an actual to god lawyer who goes to court very frequently, i have not, to date, met a hot judge, but can say with confidence that if any of these three were presiding at my hearings, i would be a lot more enthusiastic about going to court.)
so the cases that the Live Court trials are high profile ones and often result in controversial sentences - kang yohan picks these cases, and they are, again, targeted at toppling the SRF. the key members of the SRF are the president, the minister of justice, several conglomerate presidents, and:
jung sunah
Tumblr media
epitome of jiejie step on me please. introduced as a director of the SRF who assists the chairman of the foundation very closely. later inaugurated as chairwoman of the SRF. p much the brains behind the SRF.
grew up poor. possibly killed her mother when she was young. likes shiny things. low-key kang yohan obsession (same, 언니, same) stemming from the time she worked as a maid in their household when they were both young. vicious. will literally kill a man. will kill MANY MEN to achieve her goals (some murders are valid imo).
the rest of the villains are actually quite interesting as well, also low-key fond of minister cha but this post is already too long...
ANYWAY this show centres around kang yohan trying to take down all key members of the SRF through the Live Court - not all of it goes smoothly for him, because he has Meddling Sidekicks like gaon (bless his soul, but sometimes he does v dumb things with good intentions), but yohan makes things work!!
Tumblr media
this show also ft. v homoerotic exchanges between yohan and gaon if you're into it (you should be) (is there fic where yohan rails gaon six hundred different ways because i feel like there is and y'all should point me in that direction thank you), found family vibes, extremely !!! plot twists (when i found out about the cause of the fire i was literally screaming). all the characters are interesting even if some of them (*cough*president*cough*) are annoying, and the pacing of the show is good - doesn't drag and makes you want to keep watching the next episode
LONG STORY SHORT: watch this, 11/10 would rec, thank you for making me watch this buddies, this is literally the first time ever i've felt like writing fic for a kdrama

Young women are more likely to identify as liberal now than at any time in the past two decades, a trend that puts them squarely at odds with young men.
44% of young women counted themselves liberal in 2021, compared to 25% of young men, according to Gallup Poll data analyzed by the Survey Center on American Life. The gender gap is the largest recorded in 24 years of polling. The finding culminates years of rising liberalism among women ages 18 to 29, without any increase among their male peers.
Several societal forces have conspired to push young women to the left in recent years, including the #MeToo movement, former President Trump, rising LGBTQ identification and, most recently, abortion policy. Slower-cooking trends in marital status and educational attainment have also nudged the needle.
“I think there is a big generational shift that happened with Generation Z women who were really coming of age in the last five years,” said Kelsy Kretschmer, a sociologist at Oregon State University who studies gender politics.
The rift between young men and women may widen further. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a precedent that had protected abortion as a constitutional right for nearly half a century. The ruling has energized young women. New survey data, released this week, shows that 61% of young women consider abortion a critical issue, compared with 36% of all Americans.
“I would always choose a candidate that’s pro-abortion,” said Rose Merjos, 21, a government major at Wesleyan University in Connecticut who is an avowed liberal. “Almost everyone either knows someone who has had an abortion or has had one themselves. This is something everyone can relate to.”
The share of men who identify as liberal has held fairly steady for almost 25 years, according to annual Gallup surveys. Roughly one-quarter of men ages 18 to 29 term themselves liberal, year after year.
Meanwhile, among young women, liberalism has exploded. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, fewer than 30% of women identified as liberal. The liberal camp grew through the second term of former President George W. Bush. It expanded further during the tenure of former President Obama. It reached 39% in 2017 with the inauguration of Trump. In the last two years, liberalism surged anew.
Tumblr media
“Young women today are much more liberal than young men,” Daniel Cox wrote in a June newsletter of the Survey Center on American Life, a project of the American Enterprise Institute. His work documents “a growing political rift” between young women and men.
Merjos attends a university long associated with both liberalism and activism. These days, though, she senses more of both among the women.
“In all of my government classes, there are probably two men out of 18 people,” she said. “ACLU [American Civil Liberties Union], that’s mostly women. I’m wondering if women are maybe just more inclined to be involved in the community, engaged in the community. And that liberalizes them.”
Ezra Meyer, 22, is a senior at the George Washington (GW) University who leads the College Republicans. He is a conservative on a campus that is overwhelmingly liberal and largely female. In conversations with classmates about politics, he treads lightly.
“My metric for deciding if I’m going to be friends with someone really does not come down to what their politics are,” he said. “It comes down to how tolerant they are.”
Meyer doesn’t know whether the men at GW skew more liberal or conservative than the women. But he has noticed a distinct trend among campus conservatives this fall.
“We’ve been doing a lot of recruiting of freshmen on campus,” he said. “And I would say, overwhelmingly, it has been male. The conservative females that do get involved, there’s fewer of them, but they tend to be way more passionate and way more involved.”
Several factors have liberalized the nation’s 20-something women. The most recent, and perhaps the most powerful, is #MeToo, an uprising against sexual assault, abuse and harassment that caught fire in 2017, empowering millions of women to come forward and seek justice.
The inauguration of Trump in the same year pushed more young women into the liberal column. The 45th president battled his own #MeToo allegations and proved uniquely unpopular among young, female voters. Polling in 2016 showed that only 25% of women ages 18 to 34 favored Trump, compared with 40% of same-aged men.
The rise of liberalism among young women has also marched apace with a dramatic increase in young people identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer. In a recent survey, 56% of young women reported exclusive attraction to men, while three-quarters of young men said they were solely attracted to women. Prior research suggests LGBTQ Americans of all ages trend toward liberalism.
Several longer-term trends have fed the liberalization of young women as well. One is marriage. The share of women ages 18-29 who are married has fallen by half in twenty years, from 31% in 2000 to 15% in 2021, according to the National Opinion Research Center.
The growing ranks of single, 20-something women feel a sense of “linked fate,” researchers say. They gravitate toward female friends in political views, whereas married women more often mirror the politics of their spouses.
“The correlation between women’s sense of linked fate and liberal political preferences suggests that the Democratic Party will benefit” from declining marriage rates among young women, Kretschmer and two co-authors wrote in a 2017 paper for the journal Political Research Quarterly. They noted that “women make up the majority of the population and vote at high rates.”
Women also outpace men in educational attainment, a trend that dates to the 1980s. The ratio of women to men in college enrollment now stands at roughly 60 to 40, and it continues to grow. Americans who complete college are more liberal than those who do not.
“Putting off marriage, going to college, entering the workforce, women are doing that at much higher rates than they used to,” said Marc Hetherington, a professor of political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “And all of those things are going to make conservatism and the Republicans significantly less attractive to women.”
In 1998, the first year of data collected by Gallup in its Social Series surveys, 28% of young men and 29% of young women identified as liberal. The gender gap in liberalism grew steadily wider in the 2000s, wider still in the 2010s. The 2021 poll yielded a 19-point spread between young men and young women, the largest on record.
“I do have some male friends that are moderate,” said Luci Paczkowski, 20, a California liberal. “And it annoys the hell out of me.”
What bothers Paczkowski about her nonliberal friends is not their centrism but her suspicion that they “do not have any clue why they are moderate. They just do not want to pick a side and, therefore, they are apathetic.”

Hi everyone,
I found an article talking about how autism seems to be rising. According to this study:
According to the most recent data, 1 out of every 36 eight-year-old children, or 2.8%, have been identified with ASD. This proportion exceeds the previous estimate released in December 2021, which put the prevalence at 1 in 44 children, or 2.3%. This number is also significantly larger than the 0.7% prevalence (1 in 150 children) reported in the CDC’s inaugural autism prevalence study in 2007.
Prevalence estimates also differed across the 11 data collection sites, ranging from 1 in 43 children (2.3%) in Maryland, to 1 in 22 (4.5%) in California. A second report examined 4-year-old children in the same 11 communities and found similarly high rates of autism (2.2%) in the network overall, and 4.6% in California in particular.
The findings were recently published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) Surveillance Summaries. All data were collected in 2020 by the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, a program funded by the CDC to better understand the number and characteristics of children with ASD in the United States.
The full article will be below in case anyone want to read it.

Right now is the time to get involved in the defeat of America's most dangerous enemy since the Cold War.
The traditional election season, starting on Labor Day, is a thing of the distant political past. And considering the magnitude of the threat to democracy, even waiting for the end of the primary season may be too late.
The worst president in our history is, arguably, stronger within the leadership ranks of the Republican Party than he has ever been. He is now the most dangerous presidential candidate in U.S. history. As a consequence, the great question before the rest of us is whether enough of us are ready to do whatever is necessary to defeat this threat as we have all those that have come before. Sadly, there is reason to believe that this time we may not meet the challenge. Right now, Donald Trump is one of two people who could be our next president. The race, at the moment, between him and President Joe Biden, is too close to call.
The people with their heads up their ass over Biden's age are either hypocrites or dissemblers. On Inauguration Day 2025, Donald Trump will be 95.66% of Joe Biden's age. And Trump will also be older in January of 2025 than Biden was upon assuming office in 2021. Biden may have a lifelong stutter but he is still grounded in reality in a way the narcissistic nepo baby Donald Trump never was.
Joe Biden by any objective metric has been one of the most successful presidents in modern U.S. history. He has led the creation of more major legislative initiatives benefiting the American people than any president in 60 years. He oversaw the creation of more than 14 million jobs during his first three years in office. He has brought down inflation and reduced the prices of vital medicines to affordable levels. He has restored American leadership worldwide, expanded our vital alliances like NATO, and stood up to our enemies. All presidents face challenges and make missteps. But it is hard to deny that in the wake of the U.S. economic recovery, the passage of the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, the CHIPs and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, the expansion of NATO, and the creation of new Indo-Pacific alliances, Biden’s record is formidable. That a president with this record is in a horse race with a candidate who is a menace to the country, who led an insurrection, who is a pathological liar whom courts have found to be a fraud and a rapist, and who has no real ideas, no credible policy proposals, no record of actually ever achieving anything for the American people is chilling.
In normal times, over 40% of US voters would NOT pick a notorious sex offender for president. But these are not normal times.
You would have thought that the sight of mobs carrying Trump flags and weapons and chanting for the death of Vice President Mike Pence on January 6, 2021, would have been alarm enough. You would have thought the same of Trump’s Access Hollywood tape, in which he confessed his impulse to abuse women. You would have thought the two dozen women who accused him of abuse would have had that effect. Even if none of those things were quite warning enough, you would have thought the findings in the E. Jean Carroll case would have been enough. After all, respected federal judge Lew Kaplan wrote, “The fact that Mr. Trump sexually abused—indeed, raped—Ms. Carroll has been conclusively established and is binding in this case.” It should have been enough. But so far, it has not been.
And who would have thought that the party of Ronald Reagan is now led by a stooge of the Evil Empire?
You would have thought that Trump reaching out on national television to our Russian adversaries for aid during the 2016 campaign would have been enough. You would have thought the conclusive findings of every major U.S. intelligence agency that Russia sought to aid Trump’s campaign would have been enough. You would have thought that Robert Mueller’s finding 10 instances of possible obstruction of justice by Trump would have been enough. You would have thought Trump kowtowing to Vladimir Putin and taking his word over that of our intelligence and law enforcement communities would have been enough. You would have thought his illegally withholding aid to Ukraine to seek dirt on Joe Biden would have been enough. You would have thought his impeachment for that would have been enough.
Are you willing to spend more time and money than in previous election cycles to end a major threat to Western democracy and to undermine homegrown fascism for at least the rest of this decade?
So, ask yourself, is that enough to make you do more than you have done? Is that enough to commit for the next 10 months to do more than you have ever done during an election year? To give more? To canvas more? To spread the word more? To help get voters to the polls? To ensure every member of your family, your friends, your co-workers do the same? The stakes are too high to do less than everything you can.
I rarely quote Margaret Thatcher and would probably disagree with at least 90% of her views. But she did know something about winning elections and combating the USSR. If she was good for just one thing, it's for this observation in a speech made in her retirement.
[N]o battles are ever finally won; you have to go on winning them by example and by being prepared to defend your way of life against those who would attack it.
If we learn just one thing from the Trump threat, it's that we can never rest on our past laurels. A slacker democracy is one which will not outlast a determined demagogue.
Civic involvement by pro-democracy citizens is absolutely necessary to maintain freedom.

an ✨️ agüero - louis timeline✨️? this is so funny to me jajssjdjjd okay
sergio kun agüero is an argentine footballer (now he's retired due to health problems), he played for our national team and he's a legend of manchester city (on his debut season - 2012 - he scored the goal that made the club won a tittle after 44 years) and premier league (5th all time premier league goalscorer and the n1 non english scorer). he´s unintentionally a funny guy and messi's best friend.
2012:
april 30th: louis and stan went to see man city vs man united - 2 matches before man city winning the tittle x (min 4:33)
Tumblr media
2015:
october 3rd: louis and oli went to see man city vs newcastle - aguero scores 5 goals in 20 minutes
Tumblr media
october 4th: they follow each other
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2021:
Tumblr media
man city does not renew aguero's contract
march 30th:
Tumblr media
april 8th: louis followed agüero on ig
april 10th: aguero liked and commented on louis post and i remember it was trending n1 here in argentina
Tumblr media
april 11th: sergio did a livestream and someone asked for louis and he said that:
they have been talking on twitter for ages and they lived in the same area so they started to be in contact.
louis once invited him to a benefit game but he couldn't go.
when man city didn't renew his contrat (it was a big deal because he was the main player of the team) louis asked him how he was doing and all that, that´s when he told him that he was in mexico (long hair louis in mexico!!!) and when he return to london they should meet up.
that's when he says that when they meet up next time he would like to have dinner or something and he would teach him how to drink mate jajsjsj that's when he dm louis talking about mate jajssj and louis replied quickly and there's a very funny exchange 😭😭😭
Tumblr media
sergio said that "If i give him mate, i will have to prepare it soft so that it doesn't hurt his stomach and not so hot so that it doesn't hurt his throat and it has to be a sweet mate" and called him tommy and luigi ❤️😇
that year sergio liked almost every photo of louis (i remember that the photo before afhf already has his liked when i opened the notification)
Tumblr media
2022:
louis did two shows in buenos aires and invited sergio but that was the weekend when in manchester it was inaugurated a statue of agüero outside the man city stadium
Tumblr media Tumblr media
someone said that he should give fernet to louis and he said "stop it, you want him to be drunk during the show" jajsjsjd
and that's it i think!

When William Ruto was sworn in as Kenya’s fifth president in September 2022, he used his inauguration speech to demand an end to humanity’s “addiction to fossil fuels” and reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to reach 100% clean energy by 2030. Kenya is not far off this target today.
In 2021, 81% of Kenya’s electricity generation came from the low carbon sources of geothermal, hydro, wind, and solar power. Over half of this low carbon electricity came from geothermal energy, which Kenya has in abundance. So much in fact, that excess geothermal energy is released during the night when electricity demand is low. Installed geothermal capacity in Kenya could be increased by at least eightfold, which could open opportunities for scaling up green manufacturing capacity or exporting excess electricity to neighbouring countries.
Renewable rollouts have substantially improved energy access. In 2013, around 28% of Kenyans had access to electricity. By 2020, this had risen to over 71%. This was achieved as the population grew by over seven million over the same period, while the rate of urbanisation continued to gather pace. According to the World Bank, barely one million Kenyans had electricity in 1990 [which, back then, was approximately just 5% of the population].
Ruto’s words, and Kenya’s actions, are timely due to the backdrop they are made against. Amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the vacuum created in global energy markets, European leaders and multinational fossil fuel firms have launched a ‘dash for gas’ across Africa, where a raft of new oil and gas projects, as well as old ones, are being given the green light. At COP27, Ruto kicked back against the dash for gas, stating that “we [Kenya] have taken a position that as a country we are going green and we are well on course.”
